My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the
basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things
like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the
future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers,
documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I
predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in

I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic
and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I
need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My
goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or
have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge
to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays,
and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in
my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to
do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex
education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will
have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I
can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so

Longest Paper Ever
Mlomeister has given me a link to this site. One day I am not going to get so angry at these types of
things. It's a fact of life and an age–old issue, one that is almost pointless to fight and refute because
it is an incredibly emotional topic and requires a lot time and effort to understand. Not only that,
but there are hundreds and hundreds of sites like this, each one gathering information from each
other so they've created their own religion against religion. Not too many people will delve into the

But I can certainly see how others might, when they are twisting and misconstruing information.
Here is an example. I wrote, "It's like saying "all Muslims" are terrorists, when obviously they all
aren't. " Snip off the last part of that sentence, and suddenly I am someone who just made a really
unfair and untrue statement, "All Muslims are terrorists." But someone makes a webpage about it,
and all of a sudden its "Scarlett Is Anti Muslim" and then that statement has babies and all of a
sudden I'm misrepresented. Really easy to do. Here is an example taken from the page that started
this whole thing for me: "Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23–24 NAB) If within the city
a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them
both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out
for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife." It is
clear that God doesn't give a damn about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation
of another mans "property". That last bit is the author of the webpage's opinion. ( I did a quick
search on this fellows page to see if I could find out his accreditations, not surprisingly there are

her life. Therefore gossip columnists quench the fans by searching for information on Madonna daily
and reporting it.

Cunningham, 1996, pg 216). From a poet, to a chef, all writers actually try to convince a reader in
one way or another. The poet will try to convince people how a woman is like a rose and a chef on
the other hand will try to convince that meat tastes better when boiled then fried. A student will try
to convince an instructor that he has understood the course material by writing excellent essays such
as this one. Through persuasive writing, people get things done by convincing a reader of something.
Another reason is to write to solve problems and present solutions. Here, one visualizes a problem
and then connects what one knows to what he does not know, by organizing his thoughts. The
precursor leads to the quote: "A problem well put is half solved" (John Dewey).
Writing to solve a problem starts with definition of a problem, then evaluating alternative solutions,
then arguing for proposed solutions. By writing to solve a problem, one is fully engaged in the
thought process and any good ideas that present solutions are immediately recorded. One can also

My Orchard
My orchard had a lot to teach me. The trees respond to life according to the seasons; I needed to
honor that cycle inside of me. There would be a spring with the budding of new growth and then
a summer where the new and improved me would blossom and bear fruit. Fall would be the
harvest and celebration of me. Winter was the time to let go of who I thought I had become in

He likes to plan far in advance even to the point of bothering his teachers for future homework
assignments and numbering his clothes on hangers so the schedule of wear is equal. It is very
common for children to exhibit some controlling behavior like the boy in the story because it gives

control on their parents' relationship and the inability to control separation and divorce. This is quite
believable and allows the reader to relate to this situation, especially if a divorced single parent or
one who was a child that grew up in a divorced home. The first feeling of this story is that the boy
and his father struggle with their relationship, but as it unfolds, the reader sees how they do care for
each other. It also becomes easier to spot the difficulties of communicating within a brokenfamily.
The father does a fine job to of turning the boy's scheduling obsessions into a positive for the boy
by noting it as one of his strong points. This story also paints the picture of a father who would not
give up on regaining his time with his son. It shows the father desperately trying to rectify the
mistrust issues he created because he stated to the boy when they were sitting in the diner after the
highway patrol redirected them away from the snow–covered route home that she would never

The short story, "Roman Fever" by Edith Wharton, reveals numerous popular literary elements. Some
of the most prominent examples of literary elements are irony, symbolism, and foreshadowing. All
three elements create the feel and atmosphere of the short story. They add illustration, mystery, and
humor to the storyline.
The irony in "Roman Fever" begins when the two daughters refer to their mothers as "young

Jonas is helping his family take care of a problem newborn. His name is Gabriel, he had problems
sleeping at the Nurturing Center. Jonas helps Gabriel sleep by transmitting memories to Gabriel.
They become really close. Jonas finds out that Gabriel is in danger of being released. He talks to
The Giver and finds out that release means the same thing as death. Jonas gets really mad knowing
that his father killed the babies. That was his father's job. Jonas wants to create a plan to change the
