• Microsoft and Facebook still occupy the top two positions with similar
activity levels to February 2011.
• Significant increase in releases mentioning Apple (48 per cent increase)
mainly due to iPad2 tie in releases.
• Google highest riser (up six positions to 5th) in the Top 10 with 50 per
cent more mentions in March 2011 compared to February 2011, bringing
mentions back in line with January 2011 levels.
• Nintendo a new entry (17th) due to tie in releases relating to launch of
3DS.
• Nokia and ZTE fall out of Top 25 post Mobile World Congress.

• Releases mentioning “cloud” technologies and “websites” still the most
popular with increases in activity levels in both cases.
• Releases mentioning “cloud” were back to 3.0x more popular than those
mentioning “social media”, the same level as in January 2011.
• iPad up to 5th with 92 per cent more activity reflecting iPad2 tie in
releases. iPad now the highest ranked product ahead of iPhone which
had similar levels of mentions to February 2011.
• Large number of releases relating to CTIA Wireless (22nd) held in March.
• New entry for Nintendo DS (45th) due to 3DS launch tie in releases.
• Other notable increases in mentions for “broadband” (+30 per cent),
“satellite” (+35 per cent) and new entry “ebooks” (+105 per cent)
