Another usability issue is that users clicking on the "Photos" or "Gallery" link on the site are
expected to see pictures of different meals being served and some interiors of the restaurant. The
"Gallery" link shows abstract pictures not related to the site (see Fig .3) and the "Photos" link shows
video clips of the restaurants rather than pictures. These shows lack of consistency.

2.2 Visibility of System Status
It is assumed the first page that comes up on a website is its "home page" with some design features
to gives potential customers some insight on what the site is all about. The visual design of the site's
"home page" has failed to convey any substantial information that it is indeed a restaurant. Basta
pasta written on the home page meaning "Just Pasta" according to google is not just sufficient
enough to indicate it is a restaurant (see Fig. 4). According to Nielsen (1995), users should always
be informed about what is happening at all time on a system through the right feedbacks. A good

According to the New York Times, from the time of it's release in 2012, Google Glass went from
being the hottest new wearable technology item, to one that users complained about and didn't really
see a use for (Bilton, 2015). Google Glass is an augmented reality device, which refers to virtual
representations super imposed on physical objects or locations, that is primarily used by early
adopters, deemed by Google as "Glass Explorers", which allows for access of text messages,
directions, and even the use of a camera (Fox, 2016; Glass Explorers, 2015). According to the
Technology Acceptance Model, adoption of a product can be predicted by two factors. The first
factor is the perceived usefulness of the product, which depends on the person, and the second factor
is the perceived ease of use of the product (Fox, 2016). Google Glass was removed from shelves in
2015, indicating that it was not necessarily perceived as useful or easy to use. Because of it's
complicated, confusing and unattractive design with unnatural mapping, as well as its risk as a
distraction, Google Glass is not a well–designed product.

Five people provided interviews to gather the user observations. All five of these people enjoy
exercising on a daily basis. The group is comprised of three men and two women. All were
interviewed in person with pen and paper for data gathering. The data that was gathered was then
interpreted into needs and from that a survey was developed.
Results
The questions in Appendix A could get the most out of users because they cover all aspects of design
and they are simple. The most common feature in the app was music control. It would be more
convenient for the users to access and control their music directly in the app without having to
access their devices native music app. One particular item of interest is the fact that no one
mentioned anything about social media connectivity. Some of the features discussed were GPS
tracking, music control, workout comparison and goal metrics.

(TEC) most recent benchmark study that evaluates the user experience and usability of T2 products.
This report reviews the benchmark study of the Navy Leaders Guide mobile application.
During the 3rd quarter of 2015, TEC conducted a pilot benchmark study comprised of attitudinal
and behavioral methods used to evaluate user satisfaction and performance of the Navy Leaders
Guide mobile application. Although 15 elected to participate in the study, only 10 participants
completed the full evaluation consisting of the Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction
(QUIS) (Chin, et al 1988) and a think aloud task analysis (Ericsson, et al 1980).

active area of research in the design and development of tools to improve the situational awareness

2. Objective The objectives of this report are to: Present possible research methodologies and
designs that may be applied to support ongoing analysis and evaluation of ISA tools and products.
Present concepts and describe factors to be considered in developing a useful set of task difficulty
considerations to support evaluation and testing of ISA tools. Propose an initial set of behavioral,
task–based performance measures that are focused on specific areas of performance that ISA is
designed to impact. 3. Research Methodology 3.1 Overview Concerns about research methodology
relate to the constraints of testing ISA tools and products in real–world settings. It is challenging to

In this report, a cognitive walk–through has been conducted of a mobile app "gomoney NZ"1 which
is a banking application from ANZ bank mainly used for online transactions. A non–user based
evaluation method has been used for finding usability problems and determining various solutions in
order to prevent them.
The primary task for a banking application is fund transfer, it can be either between users two
different accounts or paying a person. In this experiment both the cases has been undertaken which

Along with the advantages, there are many drawbacks related to usability while using such features
and functionalities on a mobile device.
Below are some general usability issues observed in mobile phones.4
Small screen sizes – On mobile devices font sizes makes a major concern in usability as mobile has
a small screen size which effects the whole rendering of system fonts and thus making an adverse
effect in the usability.
Less distance between elements – Due to compactness of mobiles it needs to allocate a lot of
elements on the screen which makes people confuse about the next step to be taken in order to
complete the action, also it is seen that the element on screen are very close, which makes the screen
look overcrowded and results in accident of clicking unwanted buttons.
Advertisements usage – Worldwide use of mobile has been greatly increased in the 21st century and
it has given a rise in advertisements on mobile devices, the unwanted pop–ups generated while
browsing the web and constant banner advertisement in apps creates an overall bad user experience.
Furthermore, usability issues like cluttering in contents, the inefficiency of the cascading menu,
speech–recognition resulting in incorrect device output.
