Aliksir essential oils is a family business specialized in the
production of organic essential oils and hydrosols since
1988. Passionate about medicinal plants, Aliksir de-
veloped its expertise by documenting and experimenting
with aromatic plants native to Quebec.
Aliksir extracts essential oils using the traditional steam
distillation process originally developed for perfumery.
The company prefers to use slow, low pressure distilla-
tion to provide the most complete chemical composition
and ensure the quality and wholeness of its oils.
Recently, after many months of research and develop-
ment, Aliksir proudly introduced its new collection of Es-
sential Water concentrated organic hydrosols. Premium
quality healthy aromatics, Essential Water holds great
promise for the food processing industry such as in the
preparation of healthy drinks by making the aroma of
fresh plants available in a convenient format.
Aliksir cares deeply for the environment and never com-
promises on quality, which is why it enjoys such an envi-
able reputation and position in the world of aromather-
apy and the many other fields that use essential oils.

Original desserts for all occasions, mouth-watering cre-
ations for all tastes and health-conscious recipes—these
have been the keys to Sélection du Pâtissier’s success
since the company was founded in 1992. Thanks to the
initiatives of its R&D department (created in 1997), the
company has become a leader in the Canadian market
and has stayed on top year after year.
Sélection du Pâtissier has developed fibre-rich, trans
fat-free desserts in response to consumers’ health
concerns. This same business philosophy was the driving
force behind the creation of the quality control depart-
ment, where conscientious professionals inspect all
products in accordance with the highest industry
standards.
To satisfy growing demand, Sélection du Pâtissier has
taken steps to eliminate hydrogenated oils from many of
its products. A team of professionals has worked
tirelessly to analyze each ingredient used with a view to
eliminating hydrogenated oils from 90% of the com-
pany’s deluxe pastries.

The Consortium is coordinated by Québec International, the regional economic development agency and the
implementation agent for the Quebec City ACCORD Program, in association with the regional directorate of the
Ministère des Finances et de l’Économie and the Quebec City Bureau (BCN). Initiated by the Government of
Québec, the ACCORD Program aims to identify and implement ground-breaking projects that support the
development of key sectors in all regions of Quebec.
In the Quebec City region, six sectors of excellence have been identified, including health foods. The ACCORD
Health Foods Sector’s executive committee, primarily made up of business leaders, is working to develop an
action plan aimed at identifying, initiating, and facilitating the implementation of projects that will bring together
sector stakeholders and position regional expertise in Quebec and around the world.
