ADOPTION
By its own nature, ESN tends to be adopted virally, spreading
inside a department or a local office. Sometimes it's a fad and
dies, sometimes it consolidates in the department, sometimes
it contagiously expands to nearby departments. Global
Adoption across the organization is the ultimate goal.
PARTICIPATION INEQUALITY
Well known principle in social media, usually described as the
"1-9-90 rule": only 1% of users produce content, 9% interacts
with it, 90% consumes it (that is, reads it). Of course this is
why "readers" are often considered "active“… but what is
active?
