Background. Culture Refers To The Shared Values And Beliefs
Background
Culture refers to the shared values and beliefs that bind organizations together. The role of institutional culture should not be understated. There are four
broad principles of culture: (1) it creates and maintains a unique identity; (2) it promotes loyalty and personal investment to the organization, such as a
college; (3) it promotes cohesiveness to the group; and (4) it manages and influences individual and group action (Gage, 1978; Goodlad, 1984; and
Kuh & Whitt, 1988). There is not singular or concise definition of culture in organization. "Culture is argued as playing a significant role in addressing
individual bias and attitudes and institutional structures that make alternative work arrangements and other policy ... Show more content on

This does not mean that employees are not personally invested in the organizations, that alumni do not wish to continue to be embedded in the
organization, that outside entities, or donors, do not impact plans, or that faculty members are not committed to continued advancements in their fields,
ongoing professional development, and lifelong learning.
One Community College – One Unique Experience Drawing on e several decades of research, Kuh and Whitt (1988) highlight themes that help us
better understand culture and define it as "mutually shaping patterns of norms, values, practices, beliefs, and assumptions that guide the behavior of
individuals and groups ..." (162). In order to understand the culture of an institution we should find out what the organization and the employees value
and believe and seek to understand the norms and assumptions that direct behavior.
In order to enhance my understanding of the readings, I asked several of my colleagues what our culture is and for an example of our culture. Most
described the culture at Montgomery Community College as a 'students first' view in teaching, admissions, and all other areas. Some described the
college as in terms of our admission policy – open door – noting that we are an open door institution and we welcome all (Faculty Handbook, 2015).
Some explained that we should seek to make students welcome at all times and the visible indicator is an open door –

Sources of literature refer to prefabrication, off–site construction, pre–assembly and modularisation concepts either respectively or collectively, (Haas
et al., 2000). Prefabrication –Haas et al (2000), prefabrication normally involves a single skill or trade, such as electrical, or piping, and this can be
defined as "a manufacturing process, which generally takes place at a specialized facility, in which various materials are joined to form a component
part of a final installation" (Tatum et al., 1987). Components manufactured off–site and is not a complete system can be referred to as prefabricated
components. Furthermore Jaillon & Poon (2009) proceed to describe prefabrication as, a manufacturing process, commonly conducted at a... Show

The components of preassembly may be completed at the job site eg specialized factory, in a remote location other than the place of final installation.
Usually preassembly often contains portions of systems, and work that is from a variety of crafts is naturally necessary for the installation. It is
considered to be a combination of prefabrication and modularisation and may make use of fabricated components completed off–site and then
assembled near the site. These units can then be installed, similar to modules (on site). (Klerk, 2013) It is apparent that no single definition exists for
these concepts but it does however seem that these terms all adhere to a general theme, specifically: Components manufactured in a controlled
environment, either on– or off–site and then assembled at the project location. (Klerk, 2013) Industrialisation– this term is used to try incorporate all
three aspects of offsite construction work which is; modularization, prefabrication, and preassembly. The industrialization process can be described as
an investment in equipment, facilities, and technology with the intention of an increase in output, a decrease in manual labour, and improving quality
of work (Warszawski 1990). The process uses the concepts of manufacturing and applies them to construction. It also implies the use of a fully
integrated and automated project process to a certain extent. The term industrialization was commonly used in the 1970's to define all forms of

Improving job performance:
1.Keeping up with latest technology and processes.
2.Improving existing skill set
3.Trying to keep abreast of the latest developments in your field.
4.Taking on new responsibilities and challenges in the existing position.
Soft skill development:
1.Having regular workshops for communication, including people from theatre background to streamline the process.
2.Incorporating feedback sessions for the new management trainees to help them learn and unlearn.
3.Incorporating certain rating systems for the communication feedback for them to feel motivated.
Approaches to Staff Development Program:
In our organization we understand that our business growth is result of the talent growth and we thus believe in creating a talent pool that constantly
evolves and improves. We follow 70:20:10 development program where we believe that 70% of the learning is achieved on–field. While 20% is driven
through mentors, managers and peers and only 10% through traditional learning like workshops, seminars, e–learning etc.
There will be skill based training where the emphasis is on building skill set for the employees. The employees seek information in training , get to
practice their learnings and get feedback from their seniors. The employees should make most of the training program, get in constant touch with their
supervisors, take their opinions on what they seek out of the training. Discuss

Confidentiality In Social Work
Confidentiality
To ensure confidentiality and to protect the client's personal information the interview between the client and I was conducted in a private room at
Catholic Charities. Before conducting the interview I addressed confidentiality and assure the client that our conversation will remain confidential with
the exceptions of child abuse, and if the client makes a serious threat to harm himself or another person. I explained confidentiality to the client verbally
and visually. I handed the client a consent form and gave him a few minutes to read through it and sign. After he read the confidentiality form the client

The term outsourcing refers to the act of contracting out business activities and procedures to a third party. The act of outsourcing sometimes involves
the transfer of assets from one organization to the other. The term is also used to describe the act of handling the control of public services to the
private corporations. Outsourcing mainly involves both the local and foreign contracting. At times, the term is used to describe relocation of business
organizations to another country which is a also known as off shoring. This term is very popular in the U.S especially in the 21st century (Davies, pg.

The American labor markets have been severely affected by the increasing outsourcing as this has seen the market to lose a great number of the
their services thus making a significant number of the skilled workers to lose their jobs while those who are undergoing their training programs are
not sure whether they will secure a job in the country not. That means if they will not find one then they will have to opt to be self employed, jobless
or opt to outsource their skills to foreign countries. This has led to more American workers who are trained to look for jobs that they do not fit or that
which they are not trained to perform due to lack of job that they are specialized in as the companies have taken the operations to other countries like
China and India (Anil, pg. 7). These two countries have taken the big share of the American manufacturing industries that have outsourced their
services. Thus the labor market is logged with competent workers who have he required skills but that are contributing nothing or less t the growth of
our economy.
Outsourcing has resulted into some companies reducing their workers as they have taken most of their manual operations to foreign countries thus they
do not requires a large working number of employees as in the previous situation. Previously, everything was done locally from production,
warehousing and distribution where as today these companies have taken almost 60 to 75 percent of these

Autism Refers To A Neuron Developmental Condition, Which
Autism refers to a neuron developmental condition, which impedes the normal child's growth and progress within a social setting. According to
Tzanakaki et al., "an autistic individual finds it challenging to interact with other people and cannot relate to societal norms ably" (63). Health
practitioners believe that failure of neuron synaptic networks in the brain to develop in a normal way owing to chromosomal deficiency causes autism.
The symptoms and signs of autism become visible right from infancy. For autistic patients, their cognitive processes are inhibited because their neuron
synaptic junctions are underdeveloped. Arguably, although there is neither scientific nor a clinical, pathological experiment, which can prove with surety

Secondly, autism is a highly inheritable disease. The Medical Research Council (MRC) based in the United Kingdom pinpoints that the genetic effect
on autism ranges between 74 to 98% according to their study involving 258 twins (Hill et al. 15). They used both dizygotic and monozygotic twins
raised within the same environmental setting by their parents. Dizygotic refers to twins that result from fertilization of two different eggs by two
different sperms while monozygotic refers to twins that result from one egg fertilization by one sperm. The outcomes of the study indicate that if one
identical twin suffers from the autism spectrum condition, there is approximately 76% probability that the other twin could be diagnosed with it
(Biederman et al. 79). However, fraternal twins, a pair of twins of the same sex but not necessarily alike resulting from fertilization of two separate
ova, exhibited a low prevalence rate. The proportion of fraternal twins with autism was 18% for girl–boy pairs and 34% for the same–sex twins (Jeste
and Geschwind 77). This population–based twin illustration signifies the role played by genetics and most importantly opens up the likelihood of
health practitioners getting a better understanding of the autism condition.
Correspondingly, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a family whose first child has autism has a 5% possibility that the second child
would also have autism

History Of Aparthied as It Refers To Cry the Beloved Country
Hope. It is the one thing that people have survived on for centuries. Without hope, the African Americans of the early 1800's would have just
succumbed to the will of the slave owners. This is why Mandela is considered such a great leader. Nelson Mandela's message through his speeches
was one of hope, which is the only thing the people of Ndotshemi have to thrive on (Chokshi). Alan Paton, the author of Cry the Beloved Country, also
believed in hope bringing together the land of South Africa. There are many similarities between the novel and thereal life occurrences of the South
African Apartheid. In the book or in the real life Apartheid, someone came into the scene that was willing to help by assuming a leadership role,

With him came a sense of hope, which is just what Mandela brought to the South Africans in their severe time of need (US Congress 1996).
Mandela really seems to believe that if the youth of the nation don't realize their power, ground will ever be made in the unification of the whites and
Afrikaners. The grandson is learning to speak Zulu, so as to unite the two worlds, which are thus intertwined. Nelson Mandela states in one of his many
speeches, "I pay tribute to the endless heroism of youth, you, the young lions. You, the young lions, have energized our entire struggle."(Mandela 1996)
In the court where Absalom is sentenced, the one to help Kumalo is the young white man from the reformatory, breaking the racial divide,
which had otherwise segregated the room. As the novel depicts, the youth of the area seem to be the only ones able to put aside their differences.
They can accomplish this because the differences between the two divisions are getting blurrier with each generation. As shown in the book, people of
different races can now seem to get along if they try hard enough, such as the case between Steven Kumalo and James Jarvis.(Paton Cry...)
"And so it has come to pass, that South Africa today undergoes her rebirth, cleansed of a horrible past, matured from a tentative beginning, and reaching
out to the future with confidence,"(Mandela 1994) Nelson Mandela predicts. They

One of the main themes that runs through Of Mice And Men is of dreams and how they go wrong. The title of the book is very appropriate to this
theme as it comes from a poem by Robert Burns called To A Mouse,

George Milton is a small but quick man with sharp features.
"Small and quick, dark off face with restless eyes and sharp, strong features. Every part of him was defined: small, strong hands, slender arms, a thin
and bony nose."
George doesn't seem to be that different to any normal migrant worker on the outside. Lennie Small is the complete opposite of George.
Lennie is a large, strong man.
"A huge man, shapeless of face, with large, pale eyes, with huge, sloping shoulders."
George and Lennie' s relationship is rather like a child and it's guardian. Lennie is a burden on George.
"God, you're a lot of trouble. I could get along so easy and so nice if I didn't have you on my tail"
George knows, however, that Lennie has a very simple mind. Lennie depends on George to look after him and keep him out of trouble. They stayed
in Weed before they came to the new ranch. Lennie caused trouble in Weed, when he felt a girl's dress because it was soft. He then wouldn't let go.
She thought he was trying to hurt her and so she screamed. The residents chased them out of Weed as Lennie had ruined their chances of staying there.
George then explains to Lennie that they are different to normal migrant workers as they have each other and the dream.
George and Lennie have a shared dream.

In their own self–development. Thus, creating a framework that had certain benchmarks and appraisals for my progress was very important.
Moreover I needed to put in place a type of mechanism that would provide me with information on my development. To improve my
communication skills I needed to work on my ability to listen to others. I worked on listening to others intently and then reiterating, in summary,
exactly what another person had said before I brought up my own points of interest. I also attempted to go out of my way and ask people for their
own opinions before I decided to give mine. I would keep a tally of the number of times I asked for the opinions of others on a topic of discussion
before I myself would give mine. I think in relationships it can always be a sign of respect and overall beneficial to allow someone else to speak or
give their opinion first. In fact according to a study by the University of Colorado, "One area of communication where most people are worst at is
listening" (Poor Listening). This is a cause for concern as, "Poor communication can be an inexorable cause of stress" (Canty). Of course listening
are by far the most vital aspects of being an effective communicator and an effective leader, two essential things that I desired to develop over the
course of this semester. I also have an issue with not responding to emails in a timely manner, this too was something I decided to work on here. In

Film Style Refers To The Technical Practices Employed Within
Film style refers to the technical practices employed within filmmaking, this includes the use of cinematography, mise–en–scene, dialogue, editing and
narrative. Understanding the changes in film style is crucial to examining film in a historical, political and cultural context. In this essay I will be
exploring how the coming of sound homogenised filmmaking which resulted in changes in film style. The coming of film sound, transformed an
experience which was exclusively visual, to equally audible and "most filmmakers soon realized [...] that sound, used imaginatively, offered a valuable
new stylistic resource" (Thompson and Bordwell, 2009)

Prior to the coming of sound, actors were chosen based on theatrical performance, which enabled a mix of diversity in silent films as the actors did not
need to be American or British, however with the introduction of sound many foreign silent film stars perished into oblivion due to not being able to
fulfil voice acting and the new naturalistic acting sound film required. Whilst each of these complications stalled the coming of film sound, the eventual
transition from silent to sound led to an immortal change in cinema and some inevitable changes in film style.
During the end of the 1920s, the definition of a silent feature proves problematic, due to the slow and blurred transition into sound filmmaking. Films
were released with synchronised scores of orchestral music and Foley sound effects, which was soon followed by 'part talkies' and 'full–talkie' feature
films. However, the early examples of silent film style favoured exaggerated acting, expressionist cinematography and extravagant mise–en–scene.
Short texts and dialogue were inserted into the film through title cards, which communicated the character's language. These distinctive film style
techniques changed as a result of the coming of film sound, as films began to be created in consideration of sound. Scenes had less cuts and still
camera shots, in order to focus on the importance of the character's dialogue which strayed from the previous importance placed on mise–en–scene

he sees the social classes of both Mrs. Joe compared to Miss Havisham who are polar opposites. Pip can see that the lavish life that Miss Havisham
and her daughter Estella has is something Pip sets his eyes on. As seen in chapter nine of Great Expectations, Pip realizes that Estella may
consider Pip as poor and unworthy. Pip explains, "I thought long after I laid me down, how common Estella would consider Joe, a
blacksmith...but were far above the level of such common doings," illustrating how Pip feels that Joe and his family are not up to Estella's
standards (Dickens 72). Pip feels out of place and looks down on his family's upbringing. Even though Joe is a close friend of Pip, Pip sees that
Mr. Joe is reflecting poorly on the life that Pip is living. Children often see other friend's lives and are jealous of their upbringing making them
ashamed of how their family lives. Society and social class can corrupt children's minds and in this example, Pip is being torn between a lavish life

called "Lord" is very special because no one in history has been called that before. As Christians we would say the name Lord means miracle
worker, ruler and faithful. Jesus was mainly all these things as he performed many miracles in his life which many different types of people

Jesus also had the power over death, which is also referred to in the Synoptic Gospels in the story of "Raising of Lazarus". When Jesus was leaving
Judea he was told of one of his dear friend being ill but was already dead, they returned to Judea even though many people attacked Jesus before in
this city. Him and his followers went to Lazarus' tomb and Jesus said, "Come out Lazarus", from the darkness emerged a man wrapped in grave
clothes, they untied him and there was Lazarus standing as if nothing was wrong.

house where his daughter was resting. Jesus sat by the girl and said "you are only sleeping, wake up child". The girl awoke and started walking
around the room. If Jesus has the power over death he must be a man that we can call "Lord" as Christians.

The term Global Financial Crisis (GFC) refers to the financial crisis of 2008–2009 that, according to leading economists, is the worst financial crisis
since the Great Depression (Eigner, 2015). The crisis began in 2007 due to a mortgage market failure in the United States and in the following year,
with the collapse of the Lehman Brothers investment bank, advanced into an international banking crisis, which then developed into a global economic
crisis, The Great Recession (Williams, 2010). This essay will conclude that that due to private sector financial management, government regulations and

(Woods, 2009) This played a large role within financial institutions leading up to the crisis (Arner, 2009.) The cause of the crisis not only reflects the
private sector but that of the government (Kling, 2009.)
Economists believe that some of the most important financial mechanisms associated and attributed to the crisis were due to legislation and regulatory
anomalies (Kling, 2009). Kling writes that one of the most notable of these concerns the requirements of capital hill that favour securities backed by
risky mortgages rather than ordinary direct mortgage lending. Kling also states that the emergence of a large quantity of mortgage loans that host low
down payments due to the formation of housing equity also heavily impacted overall on the crisis (Kling, 2009.) Economist Lawrence H. White
bolsters these assertions by associating the financial collapse with the same political–backed efforts to extend mortgage lending to buyers who could
not meet the aforementioned standard mortgage lending (Yandle, 2010.) It is important to not only analyse these regulatory efforts in the few years

Is there something that will offend another from a decidedly different culture?
The way people communicate varies considerably between, and within, cultures and different norms regarding the appropriate level of assertiveness in
communicating can add to cultural misunderstandings.
One aspect of communication style is language usage, across cultures, some phrases and words are used in different ways. Additionally, body language
or nonverbal communication is an essential part of how people communicate, and there are differences from culture to culture. Hand and arm gestures,
touch, and eye contact or lack thereof, are a few of the aspects of nonverbal communication.
Another aspect of communication style is the amount of importance given to non–verbal communication. Non–verbal communication includes facial
expressions and gestures, personal distance, and sense of time. It is no surprise that people have difficulties understanding and communicating with one
another due to different cultural customs and experiences, and these differences cause miscommunication.
Communication is a complex system of comprehensive interaction where meaning is created and reflected in human interaction. Culture affects both
the content and style of communication so that the cultural differences will cause misinterpretation by what is said, and that which is left unsaid. To

Refer-A Friend Program Summary
The case, "Refer–a–Friend Program" describes the strategy that Runway is using right now to attract new customer, which is offering existing
customers a $25 credit, calling it "$25 Referral Credit", if the existing customer refers a new customer to Runway's web site and make a purchase. The
$25 Referral Credit is the cost that Runway would pay to acquire a new customer.
The issue in the case, "Refer–a–Friend Program," is how and when the $25 Referral Credit should be recorded in Runway's Income Statement.
There are two alternative to the solution. First, Runway can record the $25 Referral Credit as a reduction of revenue at the end of its recording cycle.
Second, Runway can record the amount as a marketing expense at the point when the amount

Physical Inactivity Refers To Having A Sedentary Lifestyle
Physical inactivity refers to having a sedentary lifestyle which is characterized by sitting and changing postures without involving any bodily
movement of any kind for above 8–10 hours per day. Scientifically, it means having an overall energy expenditure ≤ 1.5 metabolic equivalents
based on the measurement scale of energy expenditure continuum. Common sedentary behaviors are sitting in the office for hours, computer use, and
watching TV. Using a car to run errands instead of walking is considered a sedentarybehavior and playing video games for hours. (Sedentary

The survey indicates that more women are susceptible to developing a sedentary lifestyle, especially in an office setting in comparison to men.
Moreover, many research and studies have identified the strong ties between physical inactivity and poor health status. Physical inactivity is
responsible for approximately 3.2 million people about 6% of deaths globally and it remains the fourth leading cause of death worldwide. Not
following the recommended exercise guidelines can contribute to developing breast and colon cancer by 21–25% (WHO). The top diseases linked to
physical inactivity are obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, osteoporosis, back/neck pain, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular
diseases (Get Britain Standing.org). A substantial number of factors can contribute greatly to the increased risk physical inactivity such as one's attitude
towards the behavior and the environment, or the social norms. The CDC shows, only 20.9% of adults 18 and above meet the physical activity
guidelines for both aerobic and muscle–strengthening activity (CDC 2017). However, other related behaviors can correspondingly contribute to risk
factors of physical inactivity. For example, tobacco smoking combined with a poor diet and stress can be the impeccable formula to a slow death.

By definition, "power" in this context refers "to the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behaviour of others or the course of events." (The
Oxford English Dictionary. 11th ed. 2008. Print.) I will be investigating the theme of 'power' in the film 'Cats & Dogs' (2001), specifically the scene
where Mr Tinkles has a meeting with his employees. There are many factors which demonstrates the idea of power within the relationship the
characters have including other features such as wealth, social class and hierarchy. I used these ideas as inspiration towards the narrative of
Coursework 1, a short comic I created titled 'Cookies House Adventures'. Where thecat gets the dog in trouble hoping she would be kicked out of the

A modern example of this idea is demonstrated in the white house ( figure 3) where GWB is sat at the head of the table as he is not only the most
prestigious person at the table but the president of America. In this specific scene (figure 4) Mr. T is at at the head of the table, implying that he is
the leader. As the scene involves such a reputable concept, it unconsciously informs the viewer of the significance of the character. In addition to this,
Mr. T's advisor/ informer is sat on his right hand side (figure 5), which is similar to the idea of a kings 'right hand man', who is sat close at hand to
help the king rule.
The setting of the scene indicates that the cat is wealthy through the assets which surround the characters. For example, the size of the table and the
number of high quality utensils (cups, napkin, plates etc) demonstrates that the owner is wealthy enough to provide that to his guests. Additionally,
the setting of the room also points out the theme of wealth through the high ceiling, chandelier, fire place and the size of the dining room hinting that
the house is large enough to be a mansion. Wealth has always been related to power, "distribution of wealth implies a relation between the rank of a
person in the hierarchy" (Levy, M. 1997.) This allows Mr. T to feel superior over the other characters which is a popular idea within society, an
example where this idea is illustrated is in figure 6.

As research continues to improve and provide more evidence in the field of mental health, society is becoming more accepting of new views on mental
illnesses. Nevertheless, some people still stigmatize patients with mental health disorders. There are two types of mental health stigma: social stigma is
the prejudicial attitudes and discriminating behaviors directed toward people with mental health problems, while self–stigma is the internalizing by the
person with mental health illness of their perceptions of discrimination; perceived stigma can significantly affect feelings of shame and lead to poorer
treatment outcomes.
When it comes to social stigma, some believe that mental health illnesses are not real disorders because there are no medical tests that can confirm or
disconfirm their presence. Others think that only weak people are affected by these disorders because there are unable to deal with everyday
challenges, some even believe that people merely "fake" symptoms to attract attention (CCHRI, 2017). In addition, they might believe that people with
mental illness can overcome it by thinking more positively. Unfortunately, even those who believe that mental illness is real, can still view symptoms
of psychopathology as threatening and uncomfortable. Such attitudes frequently foster stigma and discrimination towards people with mental health
problems. Studies have suggested that stigmatizing attitudes towards people with mental health problems are still

Why Did Mlk Jr Refer To The Declaration Of Independence
The founding fathers and Jefferson, what did they mean in the Declaration when it states "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."? How has modern society warped this expression? Can equality under the law be
obtained? And why did MLK Jr. refer to the declaration so much in his speech? I will answer these questions in this essay. In MLK Jr.'s speech "I
Have a Dream" he referred to The Declaration of Independence a lot. The statement in the Declaration of Independence "endowed by their Creator with
certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." can mean many things. When the Founding Fathers and
Jefferson say Liberty is a right I believe this means that liberty, within every race, age, place in law, and class should be at liberty or not fight and have

The second half of this stanza describes the pleasure dome. The poet continues his use of strange, mystical language, as he refers to the gardens and
the blossoming, incense bearing trees. Soft consonants reflect the subject matter, such as "sinuous rills" and "sunny spots of greenery". There is
repetition of the "e" sound, which places emphasis on the last word. Specifically, on the first syllable of the last word, "green". This is to leave the
reader with the desired impression of the pleasure dome. It's a natural place, similar to the popular notion of Eden.
The second verse immediately contrasts the first using harsh words like "chasm" and "savage". There is a very strong distinction between the beautiful
landscape described in the first stanza, and the wild, destructive atmosphere of the second. The reference to the deep chasm arouses connotations of
hell, and this is reinforced as ideas of enchantment several lines later. By explicitly referring to enchantment, instead of hinting at it, as was done in the
first verse,
Coleridge would have created a clear message that this place was evil, compared to the beauty of the pleasure dome. A modern audience may not see
this explicit reference to enchantment as an indication of evil, but in the 1700's ideas of mysticism and witchcraft had far more importance. The idea

In an economy not experiencing growth in technology or population, it is expected that in the long run, the country's net saving will be zero. An
economy's long run savings rate of zero does not mean that no one saves. Rather, it means that the positive savings of those accumulating assets exactly
balance the negative savings of those consuming their assets. For growing economies, long–run saving is likely to be positive to ensure that the capital
accumulation keeps pace with the strength of workers. Investment To invest is to allocate money (or sometimes another resource, such as time) in the
expectation of some benefit in the future. In finance, the benefit earned from investment is called a return. The return may be in the form of capital
gain or investment income, including dividends, interest, rental income etc. Investment generally means acquiring an asset, also called an investment.
If the asset is available at a price worth investing, it is normally expected either to generate income, or to appreciate in value, so that it can be sold at a
higher price (or both). The two main aspects of any investment are time and risk. The sacrifice (of consumption) takes place in the present and is
certain. But the benefit is to be received in the future and tends to be uncertain. In some investment options the time element is the dominant attribute
while in some other the risk element may be more dominant. Almost everyone

The word 'solidarity' refers to: 'The integration, and the degree and type of integration, shown by a society or group with people and their neighbours.
It refers to the ties in a society or relationships that bind people to one another.' What forms the basis of solidarity varies between societies. Durkheim
argued that solidarity is significant because it is a necessary component of a functioning civilisation and a necessary component of a fulfilling human

Examples of mechanical solidarity might be found in traditional hunter gatherer societies such as the aboriginal tribes in Australia. These people live
the simplest of lives. The men spend their day hunting for food and the women either look after children or search for food in the forms of termites,
grubs etc. When they returned home, they would have communal dinner and would then gather around a central fire. These communal gatherings
consisted primarily of men dancing and acting out religious tales and fables so that they could teach lessons to the young and prevent the disintegration
of aborigine culture with time. An important part of the aborigine religion, often considered to be among the oldest of religions, is the objectification of
the sacred in the form of a totem. The totems, which represent Gods, are given attributes that are the perfect values of the aboriginal society.
Essentially, the aborigines end up worshiping their own values or 'collective consciousness' which eliminates the possibility that alternate views would
emerge within the same society. The aborigines would be a typical example of the 'hunter–gathers' Durkheim was talking about. All men and women in

hold that it may as well begin before this, continuing as the children grow, having to contest for every property like the toys they play with and even

Therefore, as a consequence of the natural stages of development that children undergo, they are likely to experience rivalry among them.
Kids, just as adults, have their individual temperaments dictate how they relate to others, including their siblings. Among such discrete natures,
including their moods, adaptability, disposition and uniqueness in personalities. All these factors contribute to the way they are capable of getting
along with one another with siblings of almost the same age or even other family members. For instance, in a case where one child easily gets rattled
or has high anxiousness levels while the other one is laid back and friendly, they might not easily get along with one another because one always feel

has costed tax payers more then 2 trillion dollars but hasn't elimiated majrijana. Its so wide spead, 40% of americans admitted to trying it. In 1970 the
US federal government passed the controlled substances act and classified marijuana as a schedule one drug. This means it has a high potential for
abuse with no medicinal value. But ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
for recreational use and medicinal. Its to much of a grey area that some states are legal and some are not. In states that is illegal, people will be
arrested and possibly put in jail, but the state right next to it is perfectly legal. For medicinal use, I think it would help many people like Juliaett and
Greg, where other medicine has not worked as well as medicinal marjuana. Also I think that if its legalized , then there would be less being smuggled
from the border of Mexico, since people here in the U.S. could grow and sell there own. So its possble to elimnate the drugs coming from the mexiacan

Social Influence Refers To Changes In An Individual’S Own
Social influence refers to changes in an individual's own thought, belief, attitude and behaviours in accordance with other individuals or groups
thoughts and feelings (Moussaid, Kammer, Analytis & Neth, 2013). There are three main forms of social influence, these includes conformity,
compliance and obedience which has an impact on the daily lives of people in the society. Conformity can be referred to as when a person changes their
attitudes to fit into the social norms of different groups. The concept of obedience takes place when an individual follow the instructions of others that
they feel are more influential than them. Compliance can refer to a situation where an individual submits to other people's requests. Psychologists have

They showed in their study that females were more likely to conform to the majority than male, therefore suggest that generations have developed as
young males currently do not conform to the majority unlike in Asch (1951) where they did conform. The use of peers in the Mori and Arai (2010)
study can be considered high in ecological validity and the use of males and females shows the way social roles of different genders has an impact on
the issue of conformity. Psychologists examined the role of culture in conformity, Cinnirella and Green (2007) found out that those people from eastern
or Asian culture are more likely to conform than those that are from western cultures in a face to face situation. This suggests that an individual could
be influenced by others when they are physically faced with groups from the same culture as them especially those from the collectivist culture because
they believe that they wouldn't have the chance to disagree with them compared to being in a non–face to face setting such as online communication.
Psychologists have examined conformity among adults and adolescents but examining conformity among children has been ignored in many studies.
Sun and Yu (2016) found that six–year–old children would conform to their peers than those who were younger

Case Study Of The United States V. Mcclatchey
Discuss the United States v. Greber and United States v. McClatchey case questions 1. How, if at all, can you distinguish Greber from other instances
of payment for professional services? Suppose the percentage Dr. Greber paid to the physicians had not exceeded Medicare's guideline? Would that
payment still amount to prohibited remuneration in this court's eyes?
Yes. I think Dr. Gerber is still responsible. Although the payments made had legitimate purposes, they could still be viewed as intent to induce referrals.
And as long as one purpose among all was intended to induce referrals then a statute becomes violated. Secondly, the law views remuneration as
anything that has monetary value. Therefore, I would agree the court would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you had been a juror in this case and had heard "Instruction 32," where would you have drawn the line between intent to induce referrals and a mere
hope that referrals might ensue?
The intent to induce referrals is intentional and I will view it as an intentional tort. It is completely different from just the mere hope that referrals might
result. The mere hope that referrals might result is an honest gain. On the other hand, the intent to induce referral for physician's personal interest is
insincere, against the law, harmful and is an automatic violation. I will draw the line on automatic violations as explained in the Stark Laws.
2. The summary given here leaves out many important facts. What other facts might have been important to you as a juror?
Other facts include: the ethics surrounding the referrals, the statutory exemptions and responsible parties to be held accounted for. 3. Recognizing that
physicians are their life blood, hospitals have long provided certain amenities to "keep the docs happy." Among these perqs are preferred parking, free
meals, and "professional courtesy" (discounts for care for themselves and their family members). Because the one–purpose test now appears to be the
accepted standard under the FCA, and because a purpose of "keeping docs happy" is to encourage them to refer patients to the facility, are these types
of benefits now illegal?
From my perspective, I do not think these practices are illegal. The professional courtesy

Background. Culture Refers To The Shared Values And Beliefs

  • 1. Background. Culture Refers To The Shared Values And Beliefs Background Culture refers to the shared values and beliefs that bind organizations together. The role of institutional culture should not be understated. There are four broad principles of culture: (1) it creates and maintains a unique identity; (2) it promotes loyalty and personal investment to the organization, such as a college; (3) it promotes cohesiveness to the group; and (4) it manages and influences individual and group action (Gage, 1978; Goodlad, 1984; and Kuh & Whitt, 1988). There is not singular or concise definition of culture in organization. "Culture is argued as playing a significant role in addressing individual bias and attitudes and institutional structures that make alternative work arrangements and other policy ... This does not mean that employees are not personally invested in the organizations, that alumni do not wish to continue to be embedded in the organization, that outside entities, or donors, do not impact plans, or that faculty members are not committed to continued advancements in their fields, ongoing professional development, and lifelong learning. One Community College – One Unique Experience Drawing on e several decades of research, Kuh and Whitt (1988) highlight themes that help us better understand culture and define it as "mutually shaping patterns of norms, values, practices, beliefs, and assumptions that guide the behavior of individuals and groups ..." (162). In order to understand the culture of an institution we should find out what the organization and the employees value and believe and seek to understand the norms and assumptions that direct behavior. In order to enhance my understanding of the readings, I asked several of my colleagues what our culture is and for an example of our culture. Most described the culture at Montgomery Community College as a 'students first' view in teaching, admissions, and all other areas. Some described the college as in terms of our admission policy – open door – noting that we are an open door institution and we welcome all (Faculty Handbook, 2015). Some explained that we should seek to make students welcome at all times and the visible indicator is an open door – ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sources of literature refer to prefabrication, off–site construction, pre–assembly and modularisation concepts either respectively or collectively, (Haas et al., 2000). Prefabrication –Haas et al (2000), prefabrication normally involves a single skill or trade, such as electrical, or piping, and this can be defined as "a manufacturing process, which generally takes place at a specialized facility, in which various materials are joined to form a component part of a final installation" (Tatum et al., 1987). Components manufactured off–site and is not a complete system can be referred to as prefabricated components. Furthermore Jaillon & Poon (2009) proceed to describe prefabrication as, a manufacturing process, commonly conducted at a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The components of preassembly may be completed at the job site eg specialized factory, in a remote location other than the place of final installation. Usually preassembly often contains portions of systems, and work that is from a variety of crafts is naturally necessary for the installation. It is considered to be a combination of prefabrication and modularisation and may make use of fabricated components completed off–site and then assembled near the site. These units can then be installed, similar to modules (on site). (Klerk, 2013) It is apparent that no single definition exists for these concepts but it does however seem that these terms all adhere to a general theme, specifically: Components manufactured in a controlled environment, either on– or off–site and then assembled at the project location. (Klerk, 2013) Industrialisation– this term is used to try incorporate all three aspects of offsite construction work which is; modularization, prefabrication, and preassembly. The industrialization process can be described as an investment in equipment, facilities, and technology with the intention of an increase in output, a decrease in manual labour, and improving quality of work (Warszawski 1990). The process uses the concepts of manufacturing and applies them to construction. It also implies the use of a fully integrated and automated project process to a certain extent. The term industrialization was commonly used in the 1970's to define all forms of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That means if they will not find one then they will have to opt to be self employed, jobless or opt to outsource their skills to foreign countries. Secondly, autism is a highly inheritable disease. The Medical Research Council (MRC) based in the United Kingdom pinpoints that the genetic effect on autism ranges between 74 to 98% according to their study involving 258 twins (Hill et al. 15). They used both dizygotic and monozygotic twins raised within the same environmental setting by their parents. Dizygotic refers to twins that result from fertilization of two different eggs by two different sperms while monozygotic refers to twins that result from one egg fertilization by one sperm. The outcomes of the study indicate that if one identical twin suffers from the autism spectrum condition, there is approximately 76% probability that the other twin could be diagnosed with it (Biederman et al. 79). However, fraternal twins, a pair of twins of the same sex but not necessarily alike resulting from fertilization of two separate ova, exhibited a low prevalence rate. The proportion of fraternal twins with autism was 18% for girl–boy pairs and 34% for the same–sex twins (Jeste and Geschwind 77). This population–based twin illustration signifies the role played by genetics and most importantly opens up the likelihood of health practitioners getting a better understanding of the autism condition. Film Style Refers To The Technical Practices Employed Within Film style refers to the technical practices employed within filmmaking, this includes the use of cinematography, mise–en–scene, dialogue, editing and narrative. Understanding the changes in film style is crucial to examining film in a historical, political and cultural context. In this essay I will be exploring how the coming of sound homogenised filmmaking which resulted in changes in film style. The coming of film sound, transformed an experience which was exclusively visual, to equally audible and "most filmmakers soon realized [...] that sound, used imaginatively, offered a valuable new stylistic resource" (Thompson and Bordwell, 2009) Despite the popularity of sound production at present, the coming of film sound had a difficult ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prior to the coming of sound, actors were chosen based on theatrical performance, which enabled a mix of diversity in silent films as the actors did not need to be American or British, however with the introduction of sound many foreign silent film stars perished into oblivion due to not being able to fulfil voice acting and the new naturalistic acting sound film required. Whilst each of these complications stalled the coming of film sound, the eventual transition from silent to sound led to an immortal change in cinema and some inevitable changes in film style. During the end of the 1920s, the definition of a silent feature proves problematic, due to the slow and blurred transition into sound filmmaking. Films were released with synchronised scores of orchestral music and Foley sound effects, which was soon followed by 'part talkies' and 'full–talkie' feature films. However, the early examples of silent film style favoured exaggerated acting, expressionist cinematography and extravagant mise–en–scene. Short texts and dialogue were inserted into the film through title cards, which communicated the character's language. These distinctive film style techniques changed as a result of the coming of film sound, as films began to be created in consideration of sound. Scenes had less cuts and still camera shots, in order to focus on the importance of the character's dialogue which strayed from the previous importance placed on mise–en–scene ... The country is currently governed by his successor Nicolas Maduro and the situation has gone worst, the country can't even afford hospitals with the essential medical supplies. Maduro follows the same strategies as Chavez not listening to anybody and just doing what he thinks is right for the country. Venezuela could have been a strong country if it hadn't been for Chavez lack of listening skills. Listening means not just understanding the message, but also understanding the emotions of the speaker. In ordinary listening we hear the words and thinking Where do I agree? Where do I disagree? and What am I going to say in response? In simple terms the spotlight is on us and not in the speaker, however, in real listening the spotlight is on the speaker, we put our self in their shoes, we just don't listen to the words in ... By definition, "power" in this context refers "to the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behaviour of others or the course of events." (The Oxford English Dictionary. 11th ed. 2008. Print.) I will be investigating the theme of 'power' in the film 'Cats & Dogs' (2001), specifically the scene where Mr Tinkles has a meeting with his employees. There are many factors which demonstrates the idea of power within the relationship the characters have including other features such as wealth, social class and hierarchy. A modern example of this idea is demonstrated in the white house ( figure 3) where GWB is sat at the head of the table as he is not only the most prestigious person at the table but the president of America. In this specific scene (figure 4) Mr. T is at at the head of the table, implying that he is the leader. As the scene involves such a reputable concept, it unconsciously informs the viewer of the significance of the character. In addition to this, Mr. T's advisor/ informer is sat on his right hand side (figure 5), which is similar to the idea of a kings 'right hand man', who is sat close at hand to help the king rule. The setting of the scene indicates that the cat is wealthy through the assets which surround the characters. For example, the size of the table and the number of high quality utensils (cups, napkin, plates etc) demonstrates that the owner is wealthy enough to provide that to his guests. Additionally, the setting of the room also points out the theme of wealth through the high ceiling, chandelier, fire place and the size of the dining room hinting that the house is large enough to be a mansion. Wealth has always been related to power, "distribution of wealth implies a relation between the rank of a person in the hierarchy" (Levy, M. 1997.) This allows Mr. T to feel superior over the other characters which is a popular idea within society, an example where this idea is illustrated is in figure 6. The appearance and gestures of Mr. T ... As research continues to improve and provide more evidence in the field of mental health, society is becoming more accepting of new views on mental illnesses. Nevertheless, some people still stigmatize patients with mental health disorders. There are two types of mental health stigma: social stigma is the prejudicial attitudes and discriminating behaviors directed toward people with mental health problems, while self–stigma is the internalizing by the person with mental health illness of their perceptions of discrimination; perceived stigma can significantly affect feelings of shame and lead to poorer treatment outcomes. When it comes to social stigma, some believe that mental health illnesses are not real disorders because there are no medical tests that can confirm or disconfirm their presence. Others think that only weak people are affected by these disorders because there are unable to deal with everyday challenges, some even believe that people merely "fake" symptoms to attract attention (CCHRI, 2017). In addition, they might believe that people with mental illness can overcome it by thinking more positively. The poet continues his use of strange, mystical language, as he refers to the gardens and the blossoming, incense bearing trees. Soft consonants reflect the subject matter, such as "sinuous rills" and "sunny spots of greenery". There is repetition of the "e" sound, which places emphasis on the last word. Specifically, on the first syllable of the last word, "green". This is to leave the reader with the desired impression of the pleasure dome. It's a natural place, similar to the popular notion of Eden. The second verse immediately contrasts the first using harsh words like "chasm" and "savage". There is a very strong distinction between the beautiful landscape described in the first stanza, and the wild, destructive atmosphere of the second. The reference to the deep chasm arouses connotations of hell, and this is reinforced as ideas of enchantment several lines later. By explicitly referring to enchantment, instead of hinting at it, as was done in the first verse, Coleridge would have created a clear message that this place was evil, compared to the beauty of the pleasure dome. These communal gatherings consisted primarily of men dancing and acting out religious tales and fables so that they could teach lessons to the young and prevent the disintegration of aborigine culture with time. An important part of the aborigine religion, often considered to be among the oldest of religions, is the objectification of the sacred in the form of a totem.
