Why Do I Feel Alone Essay
I feel so alone. Like part of me is always stressing about if I'll ever make new friends while I start
my freshman year in high school. I am going to a whole different high school than all my other
friends back at my middle school. I'm so worried that I won't succeed in my HTSP exam. I'm so
worried that I would have to sit all alone in an empty table during lunch, not knowing anyone at all.
You see, the more I realize how alone I am, the more I feel it. Every time I am depressed, I want to
have someone there for me, not just a random friend that I go to whenever I am feeling sad and next
year later they are gone. I want someone to be there for me, for a life time. I want to know that they
will listen to how I am feeling and actually give me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I don't want to be thinking if I would fail or not. I am not confident at all with myself to be honest,
but I want to be. I want to be intelligent, successful, full of happiness. But I know that part of that
will never happen. I can't always be happy, I will always have different emotions all miscellaneous
together even if I am clueless of why I feel this way. I want to be happy. I want to finish high school.
I want to go to college. But I want to be an actress. I want to act in different movies. I want to play
different characters, even characters I am opposite from. I want to be known. I want to feel known. I
also want to become a singer, but I don't think I have a certain brain to create songs like Sia does, or
like Katy Perry. Although I have a sudden urge to type how I feel about things, I most likely just fail.
I never kept a diary for more than two days. I can type how I feel in less than 5 minutes. The thing is
I am so confused, angry, depressed, stressed, lack of conscious, that I don't know who I am
anymore. I lost myself completely. I have forgotten what I have stood for. I am so angry all the time
and I have no idea why. I am depressed when I don't want to

Personal Narrative: King Philip Middle School
I turned up the heat to make sure that the car would be warm by the time my sister stumbled down
the front steps of King Philip Middle school. The Autumn air started to turn bitter, and leaves coated
the ground so that you could not walk without a symphony of crunches rising from under your step.
A gust of wind rushed by, and I was thankful for my car cocoon, which covered me from the coming
chills. My hands fumbled with the radio, searching for a "good" song. I heard the bell ring, and
watched as adolescents, streamed out of the school bundled up for one of the first times this year.
My sister slid into the car, and with her came a gust of cold air. "Shut the door quickly," I said. "I
know," she replied with a slight edge in her voice. I woke up at 3 am, sweltering, frustrated, and ...

A shadow of light cast itself across the room illuminating my sister who lay next to me in bed. She
had pushed all the blankets on my side, sprawled her legs across the entire king size bed, and rested
her head on my pillow, so close to me that I could taste the putrid odor on her breath. I glared at her.
As stealthily as I could, I slipped off the blankets and got out of bed. The thermostat read 78
degrees. I pressed the snowflake button ten times so the thermostat read 68 degrees: the perfect
sleeping temperature. Each time I pressed the button a high pitched beep filled the void in the silent
room, echoing off of each of the walls. My sister's eyes flew open on the tenth beep. She sat upright
and looked at me with an immense anger. Then she screamed. Before she could finish yelling my
name, my parents were awake and out of bed, running over to her in alarm. "She tried to turn down
the heat," my sister shrieked through her heavy sobs. She started flailing around, rolling in the sheets
and punching the mattress. I made a beeline for the bathroom, where I had hid three hours earlier
when she had the exact same melt down. Through the

Leadership As A Leader And Being A Good Leader
Anyone can be a leader. Leaders come in all shapes, sizes, races, talents, and abilities. Leadership
can be described in numerous different ways. According to Merriam–Webster Dictionary, leadership
is the position or office held by a leader. Oxford dictionary defines leadership as the action of
leading a group of people or organization. Ask anyone on the street, and they will give another
definition. All of these definitions have one thing in common: leaders are in a position of power and
they are in charge of a group of people. However, there is a difference between being a leader and
being a good leader. It takes more than simply leading people. Leaders are a role model. They are
the people looked to in a time of uncertainty. They are the ones looked to as a guide. That is my
personal definition of leadership. It is living your life as a guide for others to follow. People follow
others because they are attracted to that person's qualities. Then, our desire to fit in takes over, and
we begin to change ourselves slightly to mimic those qualities. Thus, a new leader is born.
Therefore, it is of upmost importance that leaders are a positive guide an influence, so more good
leaders are inspired. I believe in this process because I have lived through it many times over. As a
freshman in high school, I was incredibly shy and nervous about high school athletics. To make
things 'worse' I decided to swim, at another high school. Not only did I now have to get

Effect on High Schools
If high schools in the US were to get rid of their sports programs they would have much more
money to spend on their school and all of their students. In an article written by CBS they claim that
a high school in Allen, Texas spent approximately 60 million dollars on their new high school
football stadium, this high school is not an outlier as Katy High School, a high school located near
Houston, owns the most expensive stadium out of all high schools in the world, priced at around 70
million dollars. This purchases from Allen and Katy high school could have been easily used to help
all of their school's students, not just the athletes. For example, some of the most valuable things to
have in your school for the 21st century is computers and laptops, if Allen high school decided
against their new stadium they would have been able to purchase the latest and greatest technology
for their classrooms. According to The case against high school sports written by Amanda Ripley,
Premont high school spends around $1,300 per Football player each year. If this high school got rid
of just their football program their district could afford to hire a full–time elementary school music
teacher for a year.
Effect on Teachers If High school sports were to be eliminated in the US, teachers would benefit the
most out of all that would be affected. In Finland, teachers are paid an average of $10,000 more

Melanie Martinez And Halsey Research Paper
Melanie Martinez and Halsey– two names you probably haven't heard unless you are an avid indie
pop listener. Sometimes the electro–pop artists will come on the radio, but not often. They're a little
more "out there" than most pop artists, which is why they're not very well known in most of the
community. Their music is actually very different, which makes it surprising that they share so many
similarities. Both girls were born into a poor household. Halsey was born September 29, 1994 to
two poor parents who had her at a very young age. Melanie was born the next year on April 28,
1995, almost exactly 7 months later. Melanie was born into a poor Puerto Rican/Dominican family
living in Astoria, New York. They both struggled with having friends ... Show more content on

One would think that such similar women would find a lot in common and become fast friends, but
they actually had a fight over Twitter that set them apart. Melanie claims that nothing she said was
directed at Halsey specifically, and Halsey definitely wasn't named in anything, but she seemed to
take Melanie's comment personally. The two have since forgiven each other and continue their
careers. The two also share similar fan bases– mostly teen girls in the 15–21age range. However, the
fanbases battle all the time about which artist has more talent. The two never really declared any
hate for each other, but the fanbases are determined to somehow prove that one is more talented than
the other. Again, the two artists are extremely similar, so it seems a little ridiculous to bicker over
which one is better, but if you try telling that to the fanbases, you'll get a strong reaction.
After their initial albums, they both plan to have out new albums around 2017, although Halsey
hasn't confirmed exactly when she's releasing her next one. Both women still have a long way to go
in their careers. Despite their differences, they share a shocking number of similarities and are two
of the most successful young women in the pop industry

The Importance Of High School Sports
Introduction Sports programs were introduced to US high schools in the 19th Century and today,
these programs remain and have even gained popularity. The growing emphasis on the importance
of these programs may be to the detriment of a student's overall education. Students are more
concerned about how they will perform on the sports field over how they are performing in the
classroom. But has anyone ever considered, what might occur if these US high schools were to
discontinue their sports programs? Would the schools and students benefit or be harmed by doing
away with high school sports? If high school sports were eliminated in the US, the schools could
reallocate sports funding toward the students, teachers and other academic programs. Student–
athletes would have more time to time to be focused in school which could help them achieve better
grades and test scores. Also, teachers would have more benefits such as higher pay, possibly fewer
hours and students would be easier to teach.
Student–Athletes Students that play high school sports spend many hours practicing, playing and
traveling to their athletic events. Jen Pashley states in her article, How Often we Practice, that the
average
Krishnadasan 2 high school athlete spends about 10–12 hours a week participating in their
respective sport. If sports at the high school level were canceled, these student–athletes would have

Stereotype Threats
Everyone, including gifted individuals, face stereotype threats at some point in their lifetime. This
threat controls their production and the results in the classroom and in the real world. The
expectations become the threat that make individuals, usually minorities, susceptible to a decline in
achievement (Schmader, 14–15). Without the intervention of positive influences to encourage and
support them, people will begin to feel self–conscious of themselves and perform worse than
expected (Schmader, 14). Psychologists performed a study attempting to correct the assumptions
and consequences of stereotype threat. After the teachers informed all of the students about the
stereotype threat that targeted females, they comforted the students and ... Show more content on

The stereotype threats that these minorities, including women, black and other minority indigenous
groups, face diminish the level of achievement the students can obtain. For example, Gordon and
Bridgall examine the challenges students of color must manage while in school (Gordon et al, 122).
While in environments dominated by ethnically white individuals, students of color seem to receive
a lower quality of education because of academic isolation and expectations originating from their
stereotype threat. Rather then studying with others, students of color would study alone, losing the
chance to gain insight or different perspectives from other students. Then the students of color
would fall victim to poor expectations deriving from anxiety, such as fear of disapproval, negative
environments, and limited access to academic models (Gordon et al, 126). Eric Wargo touches on
socioeconomic status and how it challenges giftedness, specifically in intelligence and IQ scores. He
examines the differences in IQ scores and explains that the disparity comes from the wide gap in
socioeconomic status, or SES, which leads to to different bringing up of children. While families in
a high SES have educated conversations with their children, lower SES families may only yell and
curse to their children. Other differences include

Budget Deficit Analysis
Across the United States, public schools are experiencing major budget deficits. These deficits lead
to a debate over what program or sometimes multiple programs will be cut from schools in certain
areas. Fine Arts programs are often the first considered and ultimately cut from schools. More
specifically theatre and dance are among the most targeted in arts programs. The National Center for
Education Statistics reported, "In the 2009–10 school year, 3 percent of elementary schools offered
instruction that was designated specifically for dance during regular school hours. This percentage
represents a decrease from 1999–2000, when 20 percent of the schools reported instruction that was
designed specifically for dance" (Parsad 40). However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students face high amounts of stress on a daily basis making the main benefit of dance education
stress relief. When an individual dances the body releases the neurotransmitter, endorphins, which
serve as the body's natural painkiller to reduce stress. (Dancing to Relieve Stress par. 3). Another
emotional benefit to dance education is the ability for students to express themselves. A journal
titled, "Creativity, Self–Expression, and Dance" by Peter J. Arnold goes into detail about the
connections between dance, creativity, and self–expression. Arnold claims, "Self–expression in its
naturalistic state is perhaps best characterized as a form of emotional discharge which results from
an unreflective reaction to a situation or event" (53). He then explains, "It is sometimes said, for
example, that activities like creative writing, singing, music, painting, pottery, carving, drawing,
instrumental music, drama, and dance help the child or adolescent to act out or aggressive
tendencies, conflicts, and tensions" (Arnold 53). These activities may not be available for all
students when outside of the school setting, thus removing them from schools would leave students

Time is a critical factor which influence student's entire lives. To be successful in college depends
on how students organize and prioritize things. According to the University of Wisconsin "Green

Effective time management is a skill most people need to make the most out of their personal and

performance." Many students experience troubles coordinating tasks with their time; consequently,
they have poor academic performance. However, students need to realize time, they have to learn
this skill, so they will be able to improve their grades, having more time to do their homework,
prepare for their next classes and they can deal everyday with different tasks. Gutierrez, claims,
"Time management is the perfect solution to help students stay focus, so the earlier students manage

Educational Issue Involving Adolescents
Many people blame the parents first thing if a child is having academic issues. However, although
the parents do play a major part, they are not the only reason children may be struggling in school.
There are many factors that cause educational issues with adolescents in addition to parental
involvement. These factors include: peer relations/bullying, substance abuse, young parenthood,
technology use, stereotyping, racial judgements, and socioeconomic status.

Bullying comes in many forms including: sexual harassment and emotional and physical abuse.
Sexual harassment has been determined as one of the underlying problems in regards to children's
performance in an educational setting. In an article by Deborah Smith, Smith recalls a story about
Katy, a 15 year old girl, who was harassed by boys at her school. Her classmates had written
derogatory statements about her in the boy's bathroom stalls. Despite efforts made by herself and her
parents, the principal did not remove the graffiti, and simply told Katy that no one reads it, anyhow
and that it would make her a strong person. (Smith, n.d.) Sexual harassment should not be tolerated
anywhere, and especially not in a school setting. According to a report released by the American
Association of University Women (AAUW), on average, about 80 percent of adolescent boys and
girls report being sexually harassed by their peers. (Smith, n.d.) The report also found that girls are
more likely to report feeling self–conscious, embarrassed, and less confident because of the
harassment. Girls are also more likely to not participate in class to avoid further harassment. (Smith,

Arts Education Importance Essay
Today, there is a great problem in American schools. The ever increasing dropout rates are showing
that teachers are not able to stimulate and interest their students. Children and teens are losing their
ability to think creatively and on higher level because of the lack of arts education in public schools.
If all children had this privilege, they would have higher test scores, would more likely go to
college, and less likely to commit crimes. Students who graduate from high school are drones of a
test–centered, strict curriculum based on if the student can pick the right multiple choice answer.
Graduates who have graduated recently find it extremely difficult to compete in the higher education
world due to their inability to think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, if a student is presented with a question relating to fractions, the student should be able to
recall using fractions in visual art, music, and math class. So therefore the student is more likely to
know how to answer it because they have been exposed to it. Students that are more exposed to arts
in education are more likely to attend college because their ability to learn differently gives them the
drive and need to strive for higher levels of thinking and more challenges.
College gives another level of critical thinking for people who want to push themselves to a new
level of understanding, especially those who have always been taught that way and thrive on it. In a
recent study, it showed that percentages of high school graduates who attend college were more
likely to have participated in arts education. "71 percent of low–SES students with arts–rich
experiences attended some sort of college after high school. Only 48 percent of the low–arts, low–
SES group attended any sort of college, and more than twice as many high–arts students from the
low–SES group, compared with low–arts students in that group, attended a four–year college..."
(Why Music Education Matters). Arts education teaches students how to handle the daily college
workload and manage time by critical thinking processes. Arts education gives children a hobby. For
instance, a child might be

Difficult School Load
With the increase of financial aid and assistance in the college admissions process, it has made it
easier for families to afford to send their children to college. This has lead to a spike in the
competitive nature seen in high schools throughout the nation as students strive to outshine their
peers. Instead of focusing on getting good grades to better themselves, students now strive for the
better grade in order to stand out amongst their class. This pressure to excel above their peers indeed
causes detrimental effects to a student's mental health and academic performances as they consume
a large portion of their time focusing on bettering their grades and ignore bettering themselves and
their actual education.

Competition allows the students to look up towards their peers who work hard and helps them strive
to do the same. It can also give them the opportunity to learn to be gracious losers and accept their
defeats in life. Competition in the classroom does help students in this aspect, but the positives get
outweighed by the mental and educational losses involving competition. Losing a significant
amount of sleep and having a mental breakdown does not make competition worthwhile in the
classroom to teach a lesson about being gracious

I Was A Bad Kid
I was a "bad kid". I spent my teenage years squandering my talents of which as a child were my
strengths. I was in the first class to graduate from a brand new magnet program known as the "pre–
medical academy" at Boca Raton Middle School in Florida where my parents and sweet little sister
currently reside. Up till high school, I earned several awards, got second place in the state in the
science fair and did well academically. My age of rebelling started roughly upon my sophomore
year of high school when I was around 14 years old due to my understanding, memories that were
repressed being surfaced regarding my childhood when something bad happened to me for over a
year in Kenya, Africa where I grew up. It was not by a family member so I really could not blame
anyone. I would like to clarify my "rebel" age consisted of smoking weed daily, excessively cutting
class, and failing classes to the point where I barely graduated high school in 2012 at the bottom
10%. It was also around the time where I told my parents and for a moment they did not believe me
and were naturally in shock. Long story short. Even though I was in the 80 percentile of my SAT's I
had to attend community college because of my 2.0 GPA, which was fine and cheaper. I was still
taking life lightly and got into a bad motorcycle accident in my first semester of college at Palm
Beach State College and failed out of all my classes. I was at the lowest point in my life at the time.

Classes such as AP, honors, and advanced are usually based on preparing you for college, getting
you to college and getting you through college. Katy Hopkins says, "Kids [who take AP courses]
usually are able to think outside the box; they're better prepared; they have stronger study skills; and
the bar is held up for them at a level where they reach that bar themselves. They already know, 'This
is what my teacher is going to expect of me–or this is what I expect of myself," As you can you tell,
kids who take specifically AP classes, or generally higher level classes, are prepared with many
great skills that are useful in college or even getting through college. Higher level courses may even
help students beyond college and into the work world. "High school students must prepare for
college if they hope to have a middle–class income...The best standard for preparation for college is
a good working knowledge of the subject matter earned in challenging courses during high school.
For further definition, one of the tools recommended for college preparation is the Advanced
Placement Program, administered by the nonprofit College Board, which also administers the
Scholastic Aptitude Test."(reviewjournal.com). Apparently, Ap courses can be life changing. These
courses can help students through high school, college, and the rest of their lives. Ap classes can
even have the same amount of work as an actual college student. "The bottom line is that college is
probably the same amount of work as a high school schedule full of AP classes."(scholarships.com)

Obtaining Four-Year College Scholarships
Scholarships are an amazing incentive for high school and college students. In the state of
Pennsylvania students are offered educational encouragements in order to create cheaper college
tuition funds. Students are given incredible funding opportunities to attend college however the
access to higher education should be greater meaning more funds should be supplied to students and
families. Such as, in the state of New York, students who qualify are entitled to a state scholarship
that fully pays for four–year college through SUNY or CUNY New York campuses. If Pennsylvania
were also to offer free four–year college scholarships to select schools and qualifying citizens that
earn below a specific wage gap, then this would greatly benefit the state economically, and as a
community. As majority whip, I Katy Miller, will grant within my power, all in–state Pennsylvania

If high school sports were eliminated in the US, the schools could
reallocate sports funding toward the students, teachers and other academic progams. Student–
athletes would have more time to time to be focused in school which could help them achieve better
grades and test scores. Also, teachers would have more benefits such as higher pay, possibly fewer
hours and students would be easier to teach.
Student–Athletes Students that play high school sports spend many hours practicing, playing and
traveling to their athletic events. Jen Pashley states in her article, How Often we Practice, that the
average high school athlete spends about 10–12 hours a week participating in their respective sport.
If sports at the high school level were canceled, these student–athletes would have around 1–2 more
hours a day to work

Persuasive Essay On Education In High School
One day, I attended a high school graduation ceremony. Proud parents and exciting graduates were
ready to receive their diplomas and celebrate what they accomplished. The atmosphere was full of
emotion, nervous, and some tension. This means the entrance to adulthood has more responsibilities,
more challenges such as classes, and time management. For some, like undocumented students, high
school graduation is as far as they can get, even if they want to continue their education the barrier
of being undocumented does not allow them to qualify for financial assistance or other monetary
programs. This may prevent them to pursue higher education. One of the options that will help them
is to qualify for In–State tuition in their state they reside. I see this situation every day, students are
constantly concern on how they will reach a higher education, if their parents are undocumented too.
On another hand, parents are not excluding from this situation, because they blame on themselves
for their kids future education. After all, many undocumented immigrant students were brought to
the United States when they were little and this is the only country they know, respect, and are proud
of. Most of them are ready to go to college and are ready to take the opportunity to do, if it will give
to them. I strongly believe on education and everyone has the right to pursue higher education and it
should not limit by the legal status or the type of tuition payment, but for the interest of having more
young people with higher education. Some studies and statistics show the benefits of in–state
tuitions for undocumented students and how does it work in the states were in–state tuition is
eligible for them. I know education open doors for those who attend college. Actually, In–state
tuition could not just benefit undocumented students, it will also benefit our society and life changes
with education. However, there are people that have an opposite opinion in regard this issue. They
said it is not fair for those students who prepared during their high school to meet the qualification
so they can enter to their college of their choice, in or out of state. They also think undocumented
students are illegally here and they are

families removed the parents' burden of having to worry about being able to pay bills after getting

Walking with my friend, Katy, to French class seemed so innocent. We were talking, laughing, and

poor attendance, disruptive behavior and disheartening attitudes stand in the way of a child's

This program seems to have effectively decreased gang violence in the district. Uniforms also ease
in the morning routine for students. It makes all students on time for school, because it reduces the
amount of preparation and time that is required on getting ready for school in the morning, I out of
all people very a personal experience on being late because they didn't know what to wear.
School uniforms also causes disheartening attitudes from student towards teachers and
administrators. Research says "The effects on school uniforms on student behavior, discipline,
connection to school is nascent to other surrounding schools and is becoming very popular. But
students disagree over the subject, they want freedom to express themselves but parents love the
idea." (DeMitchell 2015 p.10)
School uniforms allows parents to benefit as well. Saving money helps parents a lot and gives them
deals they can afford. This alteration leads to modification in grades because it's much easier to
focus when everyone is dressed alike. "80.5% students wear uniforms so the saving of what you
would have been spent on regular clothing would go to accessories, appeal, or even computer
products at school." (Grannis, Allen, Brown 2017). Also students shouldn't feel like coming to
school is a competition rather than to learn. Student attention needs to return to learning in the
classroom, rather than how they look when they are in that

The Importance Of Choosing A University Or College
It is important to choose a university or college as early as possible because you will have a idea
where you want to go to be prepared after high school. It is important to know what you want to do
and what you want to do after high school as early to save the stress and have a mind set on what to
do. The steps to choosing a university or college is fairly simple you just have to consider your
options. There are 10 best steps to take but I have chosen the best 4 steps. One of the steps that I
thought was one of the best was according to Katy Hopskins "Rank your priorities: List of Pros and
Con", you must consider the pros and cons of the university/college and decide your priorities. The
following step is "Compare Financial Aid Packages" which is to look at the different packages to
make it much more affordable and have to owe less after college and won't be stuck in debt. The
third step is "Delve Into The Department" and that is to look at what the college is great at and if
that school excels in what you're majoring or what you want to do if possible. The final step is
"Don't Procrastinate" and this step is self explanatory but this step is to dont procrastinate and dont
wait until the last second to do everything. Decide what you want to do because you won't be able to
think as clear as if you had thought about it a year ago and given you time to think about your
options so its important to give yourself time to think and do things.

Annotated Bibliography: The Importance Of Fine Arts Education
Annotated Bibliography: Art's History and It's Future.
Bryant compiled in, "The Importance of Fine Arts Education" from Katy Independent School
District's website about evidence that fine arts education improves students as a whole. The purpose
of the article is to explain the beneficial impacts of fine arts to students at Katy Independent School
District and others school districts. This article depicts evidence supporting the development of
humans as a whole through experience with fine arts. Experience of fine arts is believed to improve
learning in all academic areas as well as; student self–worth, creativity, ability to work as a team
player and as Bryant writes, "The arts promote the understanding and sharing of culture." Also the ...

The purpose indicates a new book titled Studio Thinking: The Real Benefits of Visual Arts
Education is being published and the authors want to support the theory that art education should be
acknowledged for it's own sake and not demeaned in comparison to other curriculums. Pogrebin
explains that the authors of the book (Ms. Winner, Ms. Hetland, and two other collaborators) want a
plausible argument for art education. The authors explain you can't justify keeping art education in
schools by negotiating it improves other curriculums like math because the educators will retort that
they will have more math instead. Also, Pogrebin notes that although art may have it's own merit,
most people argue not to depreciate the importance of art improving other curriculum. In Pogrebin's
article she mostly quotes the primary source and lacks depth of the topic. This article debate never
really solved the controversy about what role art plays in education, and left the reader to conclude
their own opinion. Evaluation of Pogrebin's article "Book Tackles Old Debate: Role of Art in
Schools" shows that her sources are not up to date and lowers the accuracy of her article. She does
quote the primary sources and gives examples, however, her article has an absence of facts and
evidence. Pogrebin article lacks accuracy.

Stereotypes In The Achievement Of Desire By Richard Rodriguez
There is this young girl named Katy. She comes from a family with low income, and little to no
educational background. She does not like sharing her background with others. When she does,
people sigh or seem uninterested and do not want to talk to her. Since she receives negative
feedback when sharing things, she decides not to share anything at all. She wants to do things but
feels obligated to do the opposite of what she wants to do because it is what is expected of her. She
is unhappy doing so, she is not herself. Many people are like Katy. In the sense that they have
expectations of others. The way people perceive us make us do or act a certain way. We need to not
let what others think or expect of us control us. The negative stereotypes we are associated with can
make us not be ourselves and be unhappy, causing us to do things because it is expected of us and
sometimes we set these expectations on ourselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people do not like being associated with stereotypes, especially negative ones. Richard
Rodriguez wrote about in The Achievement of Desire how he did not wat to be associated with his
parents. They were not bad people or anything but they were Mexican and did not go to school.
They did not completer their education and he felt as if others saw his parents and that they were not
educated, he will be perceived as less than what he is. I would not like to feel or be treated as less
because of my parent's lack of education. Rodriguez is not his parents, I am not my parents, we are
our own person. Negative stereotypes of lacking an education can make people try harder to achieve

The Day I Met My Best Friend Essay
if you really missed your high school or college days, it's kind of memorable to you and the rest.
This is what Bridget Jones is doing right now. Guess what? She's going back to school! According to
the DailyMail UK, they have revaled "never seen before" images at Katy High School from her
friend Renee Zellweger. With the delight of the local results, it seems that she was so excited to be
back here again. Back in 1984, she was an awkward freshman, and turned out to be one of the most
gorgeous women in school. Renee surprised her classmates during their one of a kind reunion with
Bridget's old–fashioned flashback pictures once and for all. The reason why she was voted because
of her kind heart and openness to others. Bridget is also very friendly towards her ... Show more

For sure, she'll enjoy dancing with anyone like the good ol' days. Edward also added that Bridget's
friend, Renee, was a girl who loves to joke, making fun of her friends, joining drama and band club,
and so on. Renee has a lot of connections in school like the football team, debate team, basketball
team, cheerleaders and a lot more. In other words, she loves to make lots of friends until the end.
There's no doubt that Renee might be having hundreds or thousands of friends by now. Best of all,
discrimination is not an option for Renee.
During her time at a women's football team, Renee was the most valuable player. In her senior year,
Renee was declared "Dream Date" with Rhett Baker, her high school boyfriend. At the prom, she
also took a picture with her dancing partner Trevor Klotz. After all, it was all about Bridget Jones
being back to school. It was such a wonderful moment for Bridget, Renee, and the rest of their
classmates. It's really fun when you're going to recall your memories back in your school days, just
like them. It was such a successful reunion for these high school friends from freshmen to senior

Why Do I Feel Alone Essay

  • 1. Why Do I Feel Alone Essay I feel so alone. Like part of me is always stressing about if I'll ever make new friends while I start my freshman year in high school. I am going to a whole different high school than all my other friends back at my middle school. I'm so worried that I won't succeed in my HTSP exam. I'm so worried that I would have to sit all alone in an empty table during lunch, not knowing anyone at all. You see, the more I realize how alone I am, the more I feel it. Every time I am depressed, I want to have someone there for me, not just a random friend that I go to whenever I am feeling sad and next year later they are gone. I want someone to be there for me, for a life time. I want to know that they will listen to how I am feeling and actually give me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I don't want to be thinking if I would fail or not. I am not confident at all with myself to be honest, but I want to be. I want to be intelligent, successful, full of happiness. But I know that part of that will never happen. I can't always be happy, I will always have different emotions all miscellaneous together even if I am clueless of why I feel this way. I want to be happy. I want to finish high school. I want to go to college. But I want to be an actress. I want to act in different movies. I want to play different characters, even characters I am opposite from. I want to be known. I want to feel known. I also want to become a singer, but I don't think I have a certain brain to create songs like Sia does, or like Katy Perry. Although I have a sudden urge to type how I feel about things, I most likely just fail. I never kept a diary for more than two days. I can type how I feel in less than 5 minutes. The thing is I am so confused, angry, depressed, stressed, lack of conscious, that I don't know who I am anymore. I lost myself completely. I have forgotten what I have stood for. I am so angry all the time and I have no idea why. I am depressed when I don't want to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Personal Narrative: King Philip Middle School I turned up the heat to make sure that the car would be warm by the time my sister stumbled down the front steps of King Philip Middle school. The Autumn air started to turn bitter, and leaves coated the ground so that you could not walk without a symphony of crunches rising from under your step. A gust of wind rushed by, and I was thankful for my car cocoon, which covered me from the coming chills. My hands fumbled with the radio, searching for a "good" song. I heard the bell ring, and watched as adolescents, streamed out of the school bundled up for one of the first times this year. My sister slid into the car, and with her came a gust of cold air. "Shut the door quickly," I said. "I know," she replied with a slight edge in her voice. I woke up at 3 am, sweltering, frustrated, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A shadow of light cast itself across the room illuminating my sister who lay next to me in bed. She had pushed all the blankets on my side, sprawled her legs across the entire king size bed, and rested her head on my pillow, so close to me that I could taste the putrid odor on her breath. I glared at her. As stealthily as I could, I slipped off the blankets and got out of bed. The thermostat read 78 degrees. I pressed the snowflake button ten times so the thermostat read 68 degrees: the perfect sleeping temperature. Each time I pressed the button a high pitched beep filled the void in the silent room, echoing off of each of the walls. My sister's eyes flew open on the tenth beep. She sat upright and looked at me with an immense anger. Then she screamed. Before she could finish yelling my name, my parents were awake and out of bed, running over to her in alarm. "She tried to turn down the heat," my sister shrieked through her heavy sobs. She started flailing around, rolling in the sheets and punching the mattress. I made a beeline for the bathroom, where I had hid three hours earlier when she had the exact same melt down. Through the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Leadership As A Leader And Being A Good Leader Anyone can be a leader. Leaders come in all shapes, sizes, races, talents, and abilities. Leadership can be described in numerous different ways. According to Merriam–Webster Dictionary, leadership is the position or office held by a leader. Oxford dictionary defines leadership as the action of leading a group of people or organization. Ask anyone on the street, and they will give another definition. All of these definitions have one thing in common: leaders are in a position of power and they are in charge of a group of people. However, there is a difference between being a leader and being a good leader. It takes more than simply leading people. Leaders are a role model. They are the people looked to in a time of uncertainty. They are the ones looked to as a guide. That is my personal definition of leadership. It is living your life as a guide for others to follow. People follow others because they are attracted to that person's qualities. Then, our desire to fit in takes over, and we begin to change ourselves slightly to mimic those qualities. Thus, a new leader is born. Therefore, it is of upmost importance that leaders are a positive guide an influence, so more good leaders are inspired. I believe in this process because I have lived through it many times over. As a freshman in high school, I was incredibly shy and nervous about high school athletics. To make things 'worse' I decided to swim, at another high school. Not only did I now have to get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But in the US, high school sports are becoming too much of a necessity, students are more worried about how they will play their sport over how their grades are or if they are caught up in school. But has anyone ever considered, what might occur if these US high schools were to discontinue their sports teams? Would the schools benefit or become hinder? If high school sports were canceled in the US the schools would have much more money to spend on all of its students. Student–athletes would be much more focused in school and would achieve better grades and test scores. Also, teachers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Effect on High Schools If high schools in the US were to get rid of their sports programs they would have much more money to spend on their school and all of their students. In an article written by CBS they claim that a high school in Allen, Texas spent approximately 60 million dollars on their new high school football stadium, this high school is not an outlier as Katy High School, a high school located near Houston, owns the most expensive stadium out of all high schools in the world, priced at around 70 million dollars. This purchases from Allen and Katy high school could have been easily used to help all of their school's students, not just the athletes. For example, some of the most valuable things to have in your school for the 21st century is computers and laptops, if Allen high school decided against their new stadium they would have been able to purchase the latest and greatest technology for their classrooms. According to The case against high school sports written by Amanda Ripley, Premont high school spends around $1,300 per Football player each year. If this high school got rid of just their football program their district could afford to hire a full–time elementary school music teacher for a year. • 11. Melanie Martinez And Halsey Research Paper Melanie Martinez and Halsey– two names you probably haven't heard unless you are an avid indie pop listener. Sometimes the electro–pop artists will come on the radio, but not often. They're a little more "out there" than most pop artists, which is why they're not very well known in most of the community. Their music is actually very different, which makes it surprising that they share so many similarities. Both girls were born into a poor household. Halsey was born September 29, 1994 to two poor parents who had her at a very young age. Melanie was born the next year on April 28, 1995, almost exactly 7 months later. Melanie was born into a poor Puerto Rican/Dominican family living in Astoria, New York. They both struggled with having friends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One would think that such similar women would find a lot in common and become fast friends, but they actually had a fight over Twitter that set them apart. Melanie claims that nothing she said was directed at Halsey specifically, and Halsey definitely wasn't named in anything, but she seemed to take Melanie's comment personally. The two have since forgiven each other and continue their careers. The two also share similar fan bases– mostly teen girls in the 15–21age range. However, the fanbases battle all the time about which artist has more talent. • 15. The Importance Of High School Sports Introduction Sports programs were introduced to US high schools in the 19th Century and today, these programs remain and have even gained popularity. The growing emphasis on the importance of these programs may be to the detriment of a student's overall education. Students are more concerned about how they will perform on the sports field over how they are performing in the classroom. But has anyone ever considered, what might occur if these US high schools were to discontinue their sports programs? Would the schools and students benefit or be harmed by doing away with high school sports? If high school sports were eliminated in the US, the schools could reallocate sports funding toward the students, teachers and other academic programs. Student– athletes would have more time to time to be focused in school which could help them achieve better grades and test scores. Also, teachers would have more benefits such as higher pay, possibly fewer hours and students would be easier to teach. Student–Athletes Students that play high school sports spend many hours practicing, playing and traveling to their athletic events. This threat controls their production and the results in the classroom and in the real world. The expectations become the threat that make individuals, usually minorities, susceptible to a decline in achievement (Schmader, 14–15). Without the intervention of positive influences to encourage and support them, people will begin to feel self–conscious of themselves and perform worse than expected (Schmader, 14). The stereotype threats that these minorities, including women, black and other minority indigenous groups, face diminish the level of achievement the students can obtain. For example, Gordon and Bridgall examine the challenges students of color must manage while in school (Gordon et al, 122). While in environments dominated by ethnically white individuals, students of color seem to receive a lower quality of education because of academic isolation and expectations originating from their stereotype threat. Rather then studying with others, students of color would study alone, losing the chance to gain insight or different perspectives from other students. Then the students of color would fall victim to poor expectations deriving from anxiety, such as fear of disapproval, negative environments, and limited access to academic models (Gordon et al, 126). Eric Wargo touches on socioeconomic status and how it challenges giftedness, specifically in intelligence and IQ scores. He examines the differences in IQ scores and explains that the disparity comes from the wide gap in socioeconomic status, or SES, which leads to to different bringing up of children. In the state of Pennsylvania students are offered educational encouragements in order to create cheaper college tuition funds. Students are given incredible funding opportunities to attend college however the access to higher education should be greater meaning more funds should be supplied to students and families. Such as, in the state of New York, students who qualify are entitled to a state scholarship that fully pays for four–year college through SUNY or CUNY New York campuses. If Pennsylvania were also to offer free four–year college scholarships to select schools and qualifying citizens that earn below a specific wage gap, then this would greatly benefit the state economically, and as a community. As majority whip, I Katy Miller, will grant within my power, all in–state Pennsylvania students full ride scholarships if families fall within qualification in order to economically flourish the state and it's governments and to grant opportunity to every citizen for an equal opportunity. • 52. If high school sports were eliminated in the US, the schools could reallocate sports funding toward the students, teachers and other academic progams. Jen Pashley states in her article, How Often we Practice, that the average high school athlete spends about 10–12 hours a week participating in their respective sport. If sports at the high school level were canceled, these student–athletes would have around 1–2 more hours a day to work Krishnadasan 2 on homework and if they need to, catch up in their ... • 54. Persuasive Essay On Education In High School One day, I attended a high school graduation ceremony. Proud parents and exciting graduates were ready to receive their diplomas and celebrate what they accomplished. The atmosphere was full of emotion, nervous, and some tension. This means the entrance to adulthood has more responsibilities, more challenges such as classes, and time management. For some, like undocumented students, high school graduation is as far as they can get, even if they want to continue their education the barrier of being undocumented does not allow them to qualify for financial assistance or other monetary programs. This may prevent them to pursue higher education. One of the options that will help them is to qualify for In–State tuition in their state they reside. I see this situation every day, students are constantly concern on how they will reach a higher education, if their parents are undocumented too. On another hand, parents are not excluding from this situation, because they blame on themselves for their kids future education. After all, many undocumented immigrant students were brought to the United States when they were little and this is the only country they know, respect, and are proud of. Most of them are ready to go to college and are ready to take the opportunity to do, if it will give to them. I strongly believe on education and everyone has the right to pursue higher education and it should not limit by the legal status or the type of tuition payment, but for the interest of having more young people with higher education. Some studies and statistics show the benefits of in–state tuitions for undocumented students and how does it work in the states were in–state tuition is eligible for them. I know education open doors for those who attend college. Actually, In–state tuition could not just benefit undocumented students, it will also benefit our society and life changes with education. However, there are people that have an opposite opinion in regard this issue. They said it is not fair for those students who prepared during their high school to meet the qualification so they can enter to their college of their choice, in or out of state. They also think undocumented students are illegally here and they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In high school, I joined Kiwanis Key Club and National Honors Society; both organizations allowed me to gain hours of volunteer experience helping families in need within my own community. Both organizations have annual events to benefit our community. At Christmas, Key Club adopts a few families and we buy clothing and toys for the kids. Our efforts to make the holidays a more enjoyable time for the families removed the parents' burden of having to worry about being able to pay bills after getting presents for their children. Also, National Honors Society holds a blood drive every year in coalition with the American Red Cross. Last year our blood drive was in honor of a little girl in our community with leukemia. ... I am a victim to this. I "fell in love" my freshman year. A wild, random love that shouldn 't have even started. A hallway craziness, my friend 's like to call it. This love story, if you can even call it that, is how I decided that never again, will I fall in love with a pyscho. Walking with my friend, Katy, to French class seemed so innocent. Katy winked at me as we entered our French class. Never in my life, had I been so happy to finish French and get home. As soon as French was over, I pulled out my cell–phone. I searched for Mike 's name in my phone but didn 't find it. "Maybe I passed it," I thought as I slowly went down the list of contacts. I stopped, seeing a name I didn't recognize. We talked for a while and then I had a realization: I never told him my name. Curious, I typed Mike another message, quickly asking him what he saved me as in his phone. Our public school systems are in a dispirited and discouraged state. Violence, poor attendance, disruptive behavior and disheartening attitudes stand in the way of a child's education today. Certain changes are needed to return our educational standards to a worldwide competitive level. When we were finally able to get out of the house and drive to the store for more gas we passed dozens of houses that had been flooded with 18–inches to 4–feet of water. The Importance Of Choosing A University Or College It is important to choose a university or college as early as possible because you will have a idea where you want to go to be prepared after high school. It is important to know what you want to do and what you want to do after high school as early to save the stress and have a mind set on what to do. The steps to choosing a university or college is fairly simple you just have to consider your options. There are 10 best steps to take but I have chosen the best 4 steps. One of the steps that I thought was one of the best was according to Katy Hopskins "Rank your priorities: List of Pros and Con", you must consider the pros and cons of the university/college and decide your priorities. The following step is "Compare Financial Aid Packages" which is to look at the different packages to make it much more affordable and have to owe less after college and won't be stuck in debt. The third step is "Delve Into The Department" and that is to look at what the college is great at and if that school excels in what you're majoring or what you want to do if possible. The final step is "Don't Procrastinate" and this step is self explanatory but this step is to dont procrastinate and dont wait until the last second to do everything. Decide what you want to do because you won't be able to think as clear as if you had thought about it a year ago and given you time to think about your options so its important to give yourself time to think and do things. I worked to be conscious of my posture, especially in keeping the head aligned with the body. I practiced the habit of dropping the stomach when I run out of air, and hopefully this improved my breathing. I enjoyed Millan's experiment in asking three students to turn around and have their backs to Becky as she sang Skeleton Song. She had to convince them to turn around as she was singing (this was the same tactic Millan would later use when working with Rachael, and it produced similar results). It heightened the intensity and emotion, gave Becky an objective, and forced her to reach her voice to the back of the room where they were standing. I worked on aiming my voice to the back of the room during my performance in front of school friends, who were purposefully standing on the opposite end of the orchestra room.
