Dr. Gupta's Collapse Case Study
I did not receive an incomplete form from Dr. Gupta by December 8th (Thursday). Also, I am
offended that you believe I am trying to earn a passing grade without doing the course work. It is
impossible to receive a passing grade without doing the work. The work has to be available in order
for me to complete it. I have reached out to Dr. Gupta numerous times during the Summer and Fall
semester about the course. He has taken longer than a week to respond to my emails. A lot of emails
I sent Dr. Gupta never received a response. Dr. Gupta has never explained why I have not received a
response from him. Dr. Gupta was present during the time I emailed him because he was sending
group emails to the whole class. I have visited his office and called his office numerous times and I
could not reach him. I should not have a difficult time communicating with my professor. I had a
difficult time arranging a phone meeting with Dr. Gupta. Dr. Gupta has expressed hostility towards
me in his emails such as writing words in all capitals when communicating with me. Using all
capital letters in an email is equivalent to shouting. I was very offended and hurt by his email. I did
nothing to receive that type of response. I only wanted to arranged a ... Show more content on

Personal Economics : Personal Finance
The goal of this course is to get you thinking about personal finance issues at a point in your life
when you still have time to benefit from the power of time in generating wealth to accomplish your
other life goals. The financial decisions you make early in life with determine in great extent the
quality of life you will enjoy later, especially given the turbulent and uncertain economic conditions.
Money isn't everything, but a lack of it will impact almost every aspect of your life and those who
surround you. This course will provide the basis for your success not only by satisfying a course
requirement, but also by providing you the fundamentals to be financially secure throughout your
life. Concepts such as the time value of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The project will be a planning effort using typical financial planning data from a college graduate
fully immersed in their career 5 years from now. Use fictitious data to protect your privacy, although
I will not share your projects. To protect your security please do not state whether the financial data
you use is real or fictitious. The goal of the planning project will be to set a person up with a plan
that will provide the greatest chance for long–term financial success. The plan you develop will be
summarized in a 4–5 page type written double–spaced report highlighting your strategy and the
financial vehicles you propose to use to help reach the financial goals set forth. – Although not
directive, goals would likely include establishing a college savings for children, ensuring a
comfortable retirement, and protecting the financial future of the family (if applicable) in case of
death or serious injury. – If student loans were a necessary part of college financing, how will the
repayment of these student loans affect the ability of the person to save in the critical years after
graduation. Examine the time value of money considerations that will impact any delay caused by
"repaying loans" rather than "investing" during this critical period. – Part of your analysis should
include a brief examination of Social Security and anticipation of the effect of changes that will be
necessary to that

What Is My Name Essay
A name is not just what you're called, it is who you are. It is what you stand for and ultimately
defines you as a person. Growing up, I used to think my name did not fit me and that nothing that
my name stood for had anything to do with me. Now that I am older, I understand the real meaning
of my name and how the traits that are connected with my name relate to the person that I have
become and continue to develop into. My name represents who I am and who I plan to be.
According to kabalarians.com, the name Riley represents a seek in change, new opportunities and
new challenges. With this description, I feel as though my name fits who I am. Growing up my life
changed frequently; even though I hated how much it did change back then, it has made me the
person I am today. With change, I would challenge myself to adjust to the change. This has reflected
in my everyday life, because I challenge myself to do better and succeed. In sports, I have
continually strived to improve my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also means that I tell the truth and I can be blunt. Most of the time, when asked for my input I give
my honest opinion and will not back down. In many situations in my life, it has been very important
to give my thoughts on a situation that would change my life. For example, when my parents got
divorced I had to choose which parent I wanted to live with and I couldn't choose just to make that
one parent happy. When a friend needs me, I will help them and give them the answer that they may
or may not want to hear. However, it helps them come up with a decision on what they need to do.
Some could say that being blunt is a bad thing, however when a friend asks for advice it is better to
give the answer straight up than to "beat around the bush" and give them the answer that they may
want to hear. With the traits that Colleen brings, I feel that the traits fit me very

The Most Important Thing You Remember About A Thesis...
The most important thing to remember about a thesis statement is it gives the reader your opinion
and you are entitled to your opinion. You are also giving the reader a new article to read and allow
them to give feedback if necessary. This isn 't new to me, for I 've done a thesis statement before and
received good feedback from fellow classmates. What 's different is all of us were focused on once
topic and had to come up with our own thesis on that assigned topic. It worked out well.
Thesis Statement Number 1: Judging A Book by the Cover
People who jump to conclusions without prior knowledge should be aware of people 's feelings and
not make a big deal about it. It causes personal problems and judging can take a toll on people who
are sensitive and want honest opinions. Today, there a re more than seven billion people in the
world. Each and everyone of them are human and have a mind. They are entitled to their own
opinion and have every right to express themselves. The hard truth is their opinion can be taken to a
new level and be considered judging. Judging, or looking done on someone, is expressing how you
feel about a topic in a negative manner. Whether is an artist 's book, an authors book or a plate of
food. These things are judge without any knowledge. Judging mainly goes to people 's appearance,
personality and interests. For example, a man named John looks down upon another man named
Abel, even though John doesn 't know Abel. This is a ridiculous

Billy Bathegate by EL Doctorow Essay
Billy Bathegate by EL Doctorow Billy Bathgate is an important American novel in it's portrayal of
one young man's evolution from boyhood to maturity. The novel is about a fifteen year old boy that
gets taken under the wing of Dutch Schultz, a 1930's gangster trying to keep a hold of his
diminishing empire. As the novel unfolds, so does the rising maturity of the tough young man
introduced to us as Billy Bathgate. Billy finds himself in situations that most of us never see in our
whole life. In difference to the reactions that most people would have in these situations, Billy learns
from them in order to better his role in the crime family. It is for these reasons that the young fifteen
year old boy quickly develops into a man. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
58–9) Having read the first chapter of the novel, any reader would know exactly what Mr. Bemrose
is talking about. The novel kind of grabs you and dares you to put it down because it knows that you
can't. Bemrose continues by saying "Billy Bathgate is a celebration of life as well, particularly the
life of youth, with it's boundless resilience and illusions of immortality." (Bemrose 58–9) "He
(Doctorow) is interested not in the abstractions of corruption, but in the simple, emotional things of
the criminal existence–what it feels like to be a gangster, what moral and psychological universe one
inhabit. It's day to day mechanics and, perhaps most importantly, how one survives a life of
violence. Thus, underneath the soft prose of Billy's voice, we are given glimpses of the murderous
danger of the criminal life, and how the people who live it, particularly it's leaders, keep their heads
above water." (Clifford p.29)
Setting
Doctorow accomplishes the task of recreating the Bronx in the 1930's with perfection. Everything
from the attitude of the depression to the realness of the gang scene is more than vividly expressed
throughout the novel. It's almost like Doctorow paints the picture of the 1930's in such an explicit
manner that the reader can smell the tension of financial burden in

The OJ Simpson : The Case Of O. J. Simpson Case
America's infatuation with criminal cases and the convictions of convicts set the scene for shows
like Criminal Minds and Law and Order. My fascination with these cases started when I was a little
girl. I would research cases and trials constantly; it is the reason I want to become a criminal lawyer.
The fact that one person could be sentenced to life in prison or even death based on the beliefs of 12
people is astonishing. My favorite kind of cases were the high profile ones. The ones that make the
people involved really think about the circumstances. I remember sitting on the couch watching
some of theses trials go down like the murder of Caylee Anthony. I want to share these cases so
people can form their own opinions from the most famous cases around the world.
Crime happens everywhere we look, just watch the news for example. We believe that none of it
could never happen to us, and that we are always protected. Although we think this, for these
families it is reality. Our compassion and prayers can only do so much to help them. The pain that
they are feeling can only be replaced by the conviction of their loved one's killer. Whether or not
they are guilty must be put in the hands of the criminal justice system.
The O.J. Simpson Case One of the most notorious cases in history is the case of O.J. Simpson. O.J.
Simpson was a wealthy and successful football player for the Buffalo Bills whose whole life
changes on a summer night in California. In 1994 the bodies of

Criminal Trial Of Boys Essay
Lyle and Erik Menendez were two young men who seemed to live an extravagant lifestyle with their
parents, Jose and Mary Louise known as Kitty. Their father, Jose, worked very hard to provide his
family with everything they could need, but this came with repercussions. Jose was extremely tough
on the brothers starting at a very young age. Always placing high expectations on them for school,
sports, and work, and one day they boys finally snapped. On August 20th, 1989, Lyle and Erik
murdered their parents with an unclear motive. After they shot them fifteen times, combined, they
left to create an alibi to lead police off their tracks, this lasting a mere seven months. Everything was
going well with the brothers, they were on extravagant spending ... Show more content on

By the time the trial came around, it was evident that the boys had committed the murders, but it
was still unclear why. After a ninety–day trial, some jurors seen the murders as self–defense from
the alleged abuse and sexual abuse that was inflicted upon the boys by their father (Smolowe). The
first two sets of juries found that the lifetime of abuse was enough to not convict the boys of the
murders, but the third did not. The third jury were the ones that sentenced the boys to prison without
the possibility of parole. During the first trial, one juror believed that these acts were self–defense,
but others did not. Both of these trials were very horrific and the boys also said very horrific things.
The jurors were said to only be shocked twice, once when Lyle said he would miss his dog more
than his mom, and when Erik said he felt love for his mother when he put the shotgun against her
cheek and shot her. These two comments brought the third jury to convict these brothers. The third
jury did not believe that the boys killed Jose and Kitty because of the abuse that was supposedly
inflicted upon them, but for them to receive their parents fortune (Latson). On March 20th, 1996, the
brothers were then sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, and justice had
seemed to finally be served

Integrity of the Game: Life Lessons through Sports
When I was four I started playing softball; when I was nine I started playing tennis: and when I was
fourteen I started playing volleyball. Up until now I thought these were just ways of my parents
getting rid of me for a couple hours a day. Up until now I did not realize that I learned anything
more from playing these sports than hitting a homerun, serving a kick serve, or being able to set a
ball 20 feet away. Now, I realize that all these sports have taught me some key life lessons. These
sports have taught me that mistakes are great, to handle stress, and how to increase positive energy
even when things are not going well. They have given me a lifetime of friends, leadership skills and
more confidence in what I do. In short, playing a sport has endless benefits.
One of the more obvious benefits is better health. This would not be temporary health benefits but
life long. It is sad to hear that in the United States alone there has been a growth in childhood
obesity. 33% of children and adolescents are obese. By participating in a sport, it helps regulates the
calories that are being burned, and it helps one maintain a healthy weight. The Report from the
United Nations Inter–Agency Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace states that children
and teens, upon playing a sport, increase the development of healthy bones, efficient heart and lung
function, and improved motor skills and cognitive function. All skills that are utilized in everyday
life. With that, this leads

Cajun Zodiac Research Paper
Cajun Signs Of The Zodiac Aquarius Cajun Zodiac: Shrimp January 20 – February 18 Quiet and
unassuming, the Shrimp tends to keep its head down and go about its business. People born under
this sign tend to keep to themselves, preferring alone time to going to parties, where they usually
spend the whole evening worrying that they'll find themselves boiled, fried, baked, roasted, or
grilled before the night's over. Pisces Cajun Zodiac: Possum February 19 – March 20 The Possum is
a contradiction. People born under this sign need to feel connected to those around them, so they're
naturally social. However, they're also extremely anxious around groups of people, so they have a

The only thing certain about Jambalaya is that it contains some rice, a bit of meat, and literally
anything else. As a result, people born under this sign pride themselves on being unique spirits who
defy classification. Highly influenced by their environment, the personality of a Jambalaya can vary
greatly from region to region. Taurus Cajun Zodiac: Mosquito April 20 – May 20 Stubborn and
persistent, people born under the Mosquito will doggedly pursue their goals, regardless of any
barriers placed in their way. Insecticides, citronella candles, and those weird little bracelet things
that were all the rage a couple of years ago won't stop a determined Mosquito from getting at what it
needs to survive. People born under this sign are willing to go over, under, around, or just crash right
through any obstacle in its path, with little to no concern about how its actions might affect others.
Gemini Cajun Zodiac: Ox Tails May 21 – June 20 Naturally deceptive, people born under the Ox
Tail can often be seen as inconsistent to other signs. However, this is only because the Ox Tail
knows what it's about and doesn't need anyone else's approval. In much the same way as Ox Tails
don't come from actual oxen, people born under this sign are happy to appear one way to the outside

Winter Hibiscus Thesis
"When they come back... then I will take that test again." In the story, "Winter Hibiscus" by
Mingfong Ho, Saeng, a teenage girl that has moved from another country to the United States,
decides to get her driver's license so she can drive her family around. Things then start to go wrong
and she fails her test, but by the end of the story, she vows to take it again in the spring. In the last a
paragraph of the story she states "When they come back, Saeng vowed silently to herself, in the
spring, when the snows melt and the geese return and this hibiscus is budding, then I will take that
test again." The author was trying to get us to think what the last part of the story means. Mingfong
Ho could mean that Saeng is going to take her test again in the Spring, she will be prepared for her
test by Spring, or She will get used to life in America by spring. The most simple and realistic thing
the author could have meant for the last paragraph is she will simply take her test in the spring. She
had just failed her driver's test, did not hang out with a David and had spent her mother's twenty
dollars out of confusion or frustration. And towards the end of the story, she sees a flock of geese

Effects Of Challenging Behavior On Health And Social Care...
Effects of Challenging Behaviour
This assignment will be discussing how legislation applies to challenging behavior. It will also
outline how strategies are used to minimise effects of challenging behaviour in health and social
care settings. It will further discuss and evaluate how the strategies are used to minimise effects of
one type of challenging behaviour in a health and social care setting. There are many legislations
that apply to challenging behaviour and these include, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Convention
on the Rights of the Child, The Child Act, The Care Standards Act, Every Child Matters.
The most effective way of managing challenging behaviour is to ensure that everyone receiving care
has an individualised assessment which outlines their needs and aspirations and an individualised
care plan that details how they wish their services to be delivered and takes account of the
competency of the care providers to do this. The assessment should take account of any potential
challenging behaviour, should include a risk assessment, and should give clear guidance to staff
about how to prevent and manage this. The service user should be involved in the whole process of
assessment and care planning preferable via a self assessment process.
The Human Rights Act 1998 came into force in October 2000 to protect fundamental rights and
freedom contained in the European Convention to Human Rights. The fundamental rights include
rights that impact directly on service

The Mystery Of The World
I wish I could see... If I have one wish that 's if I could see the whole world in its entirely and not
some of it. I think of it this way because you 've to imagine we 've only been to some part, just think
to of the world you 've yet to see. It 's an endless cycle of what you could discover in your short
lifetime you 've here. I want to do the impossible, because at the end of the day you can do
something that has never been done before. The mystery of the world is such a fascinating, just even
getting to see half is quite amazing. It 's something that would leave me speechless, for several
reasons, you get to see the origins of where you possibly came from, to see evolution and how you
grew to be yourself. Just exploring can be such a life changing experience, you see things in a
different view like never before. It 's more than seeing, it 's experiencing life to its height. I 've
always dreamed of going to Paris, South America, to see that tradition that makes them countries
great. Seeing landmarks, that people always talk about, seeing it close, you can see the beauty that
the world, that people themselves have given us. To the wildlife of Africa, where we see nature at its
wild at its best, the king of the jungle, and survival of the fittest. It 's thing like this I want to
explore, you can 't do nothing like this, when you live in a city like Cincinnati, where your whole

My Passion For Comedy
When I first glanced at the prompts and saw the one that asked me to speak of a passion of mine, I
knew that this was definitely the prompt I had to choose. My passion is my love for comedy.
Comedy has always been a huge part of my life and continues to be to this day. It has encompassed
my life for as long as I can remember. Whether I was looking to others to make me laugh,
developing laughter from being around my family, or myself making others laugh the memories are
embedded in my mind. With these memories I have come to the conclusion that I have always found
a way to make others laugh. I really don't know if I make people laugh to gain friends or some other
reason; whatever it may be, it has sparked a realization that this is something I love to do. When I
first think about why I have a passion for comedy, I think of it as being powerful and special. It is
one of those things that can unite people. Laughter doesn't discriminate, it doesn't matter your

Personal Narrative: My Bone Marrow Biopsy
We were blessed to hear some good news today, 1st that my bone marrow biopsy came back clear
and 2nd that my ECHO was normal. We are so thankful for God's grace! As I mentioned, today was
also the consultation for the treatment plan. On Friday, I will be having surgery to have my port
implanted. It is a minor surgery but thankfully, done under anesthesia. After the procedure, I will be
admitted and prepped for chemo which will likely start Saturday morning. While in the hospital I
will receive chemo each day, all day. During the 2 weeks that I am not in the hospital, I will need to
go for lab work twice weekly plus one day of immunotherapy for 6–8 hours. When I am in the
hospital, I will also get 4–6 dozes of preventative treatment in my spine

A WBS helped the project team identify and publish the work scope of the project – the tasks

– going "out" to find a "source" to undertake the work. The most obvious advantage of outsourcing
appeared to be the cost savings that would come with not having to purchase additional equipment

organisations are now doing more themselves in order to develop or preserve their expertise and
self–sufficiency. Paired Comparisons Table. This devise helped the project team determine priorities

Therapy Dogs: Project Analysis
For my twenty percent time project I chose to do a project on therapy dogs. I did this project
because I love dogs and helping people. One question I was hoping to have answered was how
different people reacted to the dogs and how the dogs reacted or interacted with the people. I had
this question answered by a few different people. During this project, I went to an assisted living
place named Edgewater. While visiting Edgewater I was with Abigail Watkins, Vikki Yoder and the
therapy dog named Shadow. Shadow is a black golden doodle. He is a very well trained dog with
lots of experience.
My project took about 12 weeks to complete. The first couple weeks in my project I focused mainly
on researching about leadership, therapy dogs and things it takes to be a leader and/or start a club. I
did most of the researching in school. During those first 6 weeks, I learned a lot about therapy dogs
and how they can comfort anyone. They even can lower blood pressure. On the seventh or eighth
week, I finally got to go to Edgewater with Shadow. It was a great experience being able to see all
different people. Some of which had already seen Shadow before. The people at Edgewater loved
seeing shadow, he just brought a smile to their faces. During this project, I did not quite stay on
track. I did not accomplish this because I had no time to. Until eventually I found a free Saturday
and we went. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Detrimental Reliance
Detrimental Reliance Detrimental Reliance occurs when someone takes action or fails to take action
because of what appeared to be a promise made by another individual, without knowing if true or
untrue. It is very similar to Promissory Estoppel in that the other party is "estopped" or legally
prevented from denying liability, even though no formal contract was formed, because of its
promise. An estoppel by representation [of fact] will arise between A and B if the following
elements are made out. First, A makes a false representation of fact to B or to a group of which B
was a member. [It is not necessary to demonstrate A knew that the representation was untrue.]
Second, in making the representation, A intended or [in the ... Show more content on

After receiving his first patent for Modtrack, Condrey entered into a licensing agreement with
Harrell Equipment. This licensing agreement, and the copyrighted blueprints of the Modtrack
system, formed the basis of his lawsuit. In response to Condrey 's allegations, Harrell Equipment
filed a cross–complaint against SunTrust asserting that SunTrust: (1) fraudulently induced Harrell
Equipment to agree to the March 1999 deal because SunTrust never intended to follow through with
the agreement; (2) caused Harrell Equipment to partially perform and thus detrimentally rely on
SunTrust 's oral promises; (3) fraudulently converted Harrell Equipment 's property because
SunTrust 's foreclosure proceedings involved violations of state law duties regulating professional
conduct in foreclosure proceedings; (4) breached its contract with Harrell Equipment when it failed
to sell the assets to Vada, the third party purchaser selected by Harrell Equipment; (5) tortiously
interfered with Harrell Equipment 's business opportunities during its daily operation of Harrell

What Are The Characters In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
When I first read Everyday Use by Alice Walker I noticed the difference between the two character
Dee and Maggie. So, I decided I would focus the majority of my energy on the concept of the two
sisters being the inner voices in one's head. My favorite part of Everyday Use is the contrast of the
two girls.
For my situation, I look at Dee being the Devil on your shoulder and Maggie as the angel.
Something that stands out to me is that devil and Dee both start with the letter D. For the biblical
aspect of Maggie's name the angel held highest to God is Micheal, both starting with the letter M.
Do I think that Dee is always the devil character? No. I say no because I feel that deep down Dee
really does care about her family and believes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then we have other days, when we feel like we should be kept in our own little bubble of
insecurities and timidness, this is the Maggie is us.
I have those days where I'm a red firecracker ready to take what I want when I need it. When I want
to dress in bright, bold, and beautiful outfits that say 'look at me!' I am Dee on certain days. It may
not be in demanding old family heirlooms and leaving when I don't get me way. However I am Dee
in the sense of wanted a difference. In the story it says she was apart of the Movement. I feel that
connection with Dee because I want to make a difference in the world. I think another thing that
relates me to Dee in a way is that she wanted to bury her old roots, as I did as a child.
However, I am also like Maggie, starting out with that she was perfectly happy with the way she
was and how she grew up. I may not have saw the importance then, but I see it now. I love how the
two girls showcase my personality. Some days I might be confident and ready to take on the world,
but others I want to hid behind the door and flee when trouble comes near like maggie did in the
beginning of our story. I connect with her because like her I have a story. My story may not be
visible, but it's just as real. Another thing that makes me love her character is that by the end of the
story she has evolved as a person to stand up for herself which took me a while too. Alice

The Forces Of Nature In Jack London's To Build A Fire
Jack London was one of the great writers in the Naturalism Period, his pieces came from a unique
experience during a winter spent in the Yukon. His stories are truly special pieces to read. London,
who was born 1876 in San Francisco, ventured to the Yukon in the winter of 1897 which provided
inspiration for his literary art ("Jack London: Biography"). Author of many other stories, he
published "To Build a Fire" in 1902; he later died in 1916 ("Jack London: Biography"). In this story,
a man and a dog venture onto the cold Yukon Trail during the winter, a brutal setting for anyone.
With the combination of foolish mistakes and a lack of good luck, he passes away before he can
reach camp to have dinner (London, "To Build A Fire"). London, through his brilliant writing,
conveys that a person should never underestimate the forces of nature. In "To Build a Fire," Jack
London builds this theme through his use of conflict, foreshadowing, and figurative language.
London uses an external conflict in the form of man vs. nature in order to build his theme in "To
Build A Fire." In the story, in order to get to camp with the boys to eat supper, the man must fight
against the brutal forces of nature. The man vs. nature conflict becomes more apparent when the
narrator says, "He knew that the coldest snaps never froze these springs, and he knew likewise their
danger. They were traps" ("To Build A Fire"). This conflict with the man and nature helps convey
London's theme by showing how truly

Breath Eyes Memory By Edwidge Danticat
The novel, Breath Eyes Memory by Edwidge Danticat, was one of strength, sadness, understanding,
struggles, and healing. While this goes for almost every character in the story, these trials and
tribulations were endured by the main Character Sophie. Sophie who lived in Haiti as a young child,
was a quiet and respectful child. The way we can tell that she was is because it is noted that good
children cleaned the yards of the parents or caretakers. Good children did not interfere in adult
conversations. Sophie did these things. She did them not just because she wanted to be a good child.
She did them because she loved her Tante Atie. She loved her like a mother instead of her aunt. She

When she gets to America and meets her mother for the first time, this I believe is when she first
starts to feel trapped. She was in a new world but much of it was still the same due to her living in a
Haitian neighborhood. Her mother had horrible nightmares because of her trauma at a young age of
being raped. This became almost like a job for Sophie. She cared for her fragile mother. Even
though she was in America, she had to be a proper Haitian lady. She couldn't stay out or express
herself, which made her feel even more trapped. When her Mother started testing her, she then bore
the horrible trauma just like her mother when she was violated. This furthered her internal captivity.
She felt powerless and alone. She thought that breaking her hymen would free her from her trauma
but it did not. She was able to escape the testing but not her on mental prison. Even sex with her
husband was traumatic and painful and only furthered her captivity. She couldn't be free with
binging and purging. She even tried to free herself through therapeutic means. She prayed to Erzulie
to find her freedom and was troubled none the less. Trying to find a way to be free she went back to
Haiti. It was her home and where she felt the safest. In Haiti, she still found no peace. She saw her
Tante Atie had become different than she once was. The was friction between Atie

Anthem and Brave New World Essay
BNW In the two books that we read, Anthem and Brave New World, there are several things in their
societies that are the same, and several things that are different. They do spend their free time doing
different things, but their beliefs are basically the same.
The two groups educate their children in almost the same way. They are both taught in groups of
people that were born at the same time. The information is constantly drilled in to their heads
whether they like it or not. In Brave New World, they try to teach them when they are sleeping.
Neither one of them has a choice of what they want to learn or whether or not they want to learn
anything. If they go against the learning process, they will be punished. The kids ... Show more

An invention or an advancement in something will only be accepted if it helps the rest of the people,
such as creating more jobs for them. It has to be more complicated than something that already
exists. This helps them to keep bettering the things they have.
Although the two societies have almost the same rules about new inventions, the technology they
both have is nothing alike. The people in Brave New World are much more advanced. I would say
they have even more than we do today. They fly around in helicopters instead of driving cars. Their
helicopters even seem more advanced than ours because of how fast they go. The reason these
people are so advanced is the same reason the people in Anthem have so little technology. They only
allow certain people to create new things. If anyone other than these people invent something, they
are punished by being whipped. They don't even have light bulbs. For some reason they choose not
to make new thing better then the ones they have. They think this will hurt their society.
There are two very big differences in the societies. The first one is in how their children are born. In
Anthem, they are born just how our babies are. They are born naturally and without being given any
drugs to alter the way they come out. The mothers go through normal birth and then the children are
immediately taken away from them to begin their education. They never see their

Personal Function : Personal Reflection
Section Three: 12:00 – 18:00 During this section of the session, the client gave me a lot of
information on what she was thinking based on the situation with her mother and grandmother's
relationships. She even mentioned, "you don't want to repeat the same mistakes as your parents." I
think that I should have gone deeper with this. The client seemed to have many feelings behind this
statement and this belief that she could not repeat their mistakes. I think this was a missed
opportunity for me in which I could have and should have gone deeper with the client. There was a
lot to explore there and I think due to my nerves I just moved on to the next idea with her. I think
that this would have been a great moment to use silence and allow the client to really reflect and sit
with what she was saying about the "lineage of seeking our difficult situations and being a helper." I
also think in hindsight that this would have been a pivotal point in the session and because I missed
it, we did not really go deep in our conversation. I also wonder if this would have been a good place
to interrupt the client to focus on something. When I did jump in and reflect, for some reason I just
do not sit well with my reflection. I honestly do not know what I could have said that would have
been better and maybe this was just a time where silence would have been best for the client and I.
My reflection felt too rushed and I think that if I would have taken time to really think about what

All the turkey's the Benson family got were all too small, except one. The dad had to give all the
turkey's back except that one. It was the night before Thanksgiving when the Benson family decided
to bake a turkey. But when the dad saw the turkeys eyes glimmering in the sun, he decided to try and
give it a chance at being part of the family. The next night the family heard a *BANG* in the
kitchen when they checked to see who or what it was, it was the turkey. So they got more and more
suspicious that the turkey was evil. The following night the kid heard footsteps leading up to his

Government, 2010). In the past decade there has been significant change in nursing and healthcare
that has led to a much wider remit for those involved in working with children and subsequently
child protection (Hall and Elliman, 2006; Department of Health, 2004); indeed Health Visitors are
responding to a national drive to further enhance their contribution to public health (Department of
Health, 2009).

families that are in need of additional support and children who are at risk" (Department of Health,
2009, p.6) by providing a progressive universal framework to ensure the promotion of the health and
wellbeing of children, delivered via multi–agency support services. The safeguarding process
requires Health Visitors to utilise all four principles of specialist community health nursing (Nursing
and Midwifery Council, 2004) in developing child care services to prevent child maltreatment and
in ensuring rapid and appropriate help for families. Furthermore, the Healthy Child Programme
(Department of Health, 2009) establishes a leadership role for Health Visitors in delivering care
packages to support the most vulnerable children; core principles of the Programme include keeping
children healthy and safe, identification of factors that influence the health and wellbeing of
families, and partnership working with other agencies in order to refer to appropriate specialist
services, signpost to wider support, and provide co–ordinated care packages (Department of Health,
2009). With this in mind, the extent to which

Also, I am offended that you believe I am trying to earn a passing grade without doing the course work. It is impossible to receive a passing grade without doing the work. The work has to be available in order for me to complete it. I have reached out to Dr. Gupta numerous times during the Summer and Fall semester about the course. He has taken longer than a week to respond to my emails. A lot of emails I sent Dr. Gupta never received a response. Dr. Gupta has never explained why I have not received a response from him. Dr. Gupta was present during the time I emailed him because he was sending group emails to the whole class. I have visited his office and called his office numerous times and I could not reach him. I should not have a difficult time communicating with my professor. I had a difficult time arranging a phone meeting with Dr. Gupta. Dr. Gupta has expressed hostility towards me in his emails such as writing words in all capitals when communicating with me. Using all capital letters in an email is equivalent to shouting. • 21. What Is My Name Essay A name is not just what you're called, it is who you are. It is what you stand for and ultimately defines you as a person. Growing up, I used to think my name did not fit me and that nothing that my name stood for had anything to do with me. Now that I am older, I understand the real meaning of my name and how the traits that are connected with my name relate to the person that I have become and continue to develop into. My name represents who I am and who I plan to be. According to kabalarians.com, the name Riley represents a seek in change, new opportunities and new challenges. With this description, I feel as though my name fits who I am. Growing up my life changed frequently; even though I hated how much it did change back then, it has made me the person I am today. • 25. The Most Important Thing You Remember About A Thesis... The most important thing to remember about a thesis statement is it gives the reader your opinion and you are entitled to your opinion. You are also giving the reader a new article to read and allow them to give feedback if necessary. This isn 't new to me, for I 've done a thesis statement before and received good feedback from fellow classmates. What 's different is all of us were focused on once topic and had to come up with our own thesis on that assigned topic. It worked out well. Thesis Statement Number 1: Judging A Book by the Cover People who jump to conclusions without prior knowledge should be aware of people 's feelings and not make a big deal about it. It causes personal problems and judging can take a toll on people who are sensitive and want honest opinions. Today, there a re more than seven billion people in the world. Each and everyone of them are human and have a mind. They are entitled to their own opinion and have every right to express themselves. The hard truth is their opinion can be taken to a new level and be considered judging. Judging, or looking done on someone, is expressing how you feel about a topic in a negative manner. Whether is an artist 's book, an authors book or a plate of food. These things are judge without any knowledge. Judging mainly goes to people 's appearance, personality and interests. For example, a man named John looks down upon another man named Abel, even though John doesn 't know Abel. This is a ridiculous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Billy Bathegate by EL Doctorow Essay Billy Bathegate by EL Doctorow Billy Bathgate is an important American novel in it's portrayal of one young man's evolution from boyhood to maturity. The novel is about a fifteen year old boy that gets taken under the wing of Dutch Schultz, a 1930's gangster trying to keep a hold of his diminishing empire. As the novel unfolds, so does the rising maturity of the tough young man introduced to us as Billy Bathgate. Billy finds himself in situations that most of us never see in our whole life. In difference to the reactions that most people would have in these situations, Billy learns from them in order to better his role in the crime family. It is for these reasons that the young fifteen year old boy quickly develops into a man. ... The novel kind of grabs you and dares you to put it down because it knows that you can't. Bemrose continues by saying "Billy Bathgate is a celebration of life as well, particularly the life of youth, with it's boundless resilience and illusions of immortality." (Bemrose 58–9) "He (Doctorow) is interested not in the abstractions of corruption, but in the simple, emotional things of the criminal existence–what it feels like to be a gangster, what moral and psychological universe one inhabit. It's day to day mechanics and, perhaps most importantly, how one survives a life of violence. Thus, underneath the soft prose of Billy's voice, we are given glimpses of the murderous danger of the criminal life, and how the people who live it, particularly it's leaders, keep their heads above water." (Clifford p.29) Setting Doctorow accomplishes the task of recreating the Bronx in the 1930's with perfection. Everything from the attitude of the depression to the realness of the gang scene is more than vividly expressed throughout the novel. It's almost like Doctorow paints the picture of the 1930's in such an explicit manner that the reader can smell the tension of financial burden in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. The OJ Simpson : The Case Of O. J. Simpson Case America's infatuation with criminal cases and the convictions of convicts set the scene for shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order. My fascination with these cases started when I was a little girl. I would research cases and trials constantly; it is the reason I want to become a criminal lawyer. The fact that one person could be sentenced to life in prison or even death based on the beliefs of 12 people is astonishing. My favorite kind of cases were the high profile ones. The ones that make the people involved really think about the circumstances. I remember sitting on the couch watching some of theses trials go down like the murder of Caylee Anthony. I want to share these cases so people can form their own opinions from the most famous cases around the world. Crime happens everywhere we look, just watch the news for example. We believe that none of it could never happen to us, and that we are always protected. Although we think this, for these families it is reality. Our compassion and prayers can only do so much to help them. The pain that they are feeling can only be replaced by the conviction of their loved one's killer. Whether or not they are guilty must be put in the hands of the criminal justice system. The O.J. Simpson Case One of the most notorious cases in history is the case of O.J. Simpson. O.J. Their father, Jose, worked very hard to provide his family with everything they could need, but this came with repercussions. Jose was extremely tough on the brothers starting at a very young age. Always placing high expectations on them for school, sports, and work, and one day they boys finally snapped. On August 20th, 1989, Lyle and Erik murdered their parents with an unclear motive. By the time the trial came around, it was evident that the boys had committed the murders, but it was still unclear why. After a ninety–day trial, some jurors seen the murders as self–defense from the alleged abuse and sexual abuse that was inflicted upon the boys by their father (Smolowe). The first two sets of juries found that the lifetime of abuse was enough to not convict the boys of the murders, but the third did not. The third jury were the ones that sentenced the boys to prison without the possibility of parole. During the first trial, one juror believed that these acts were self–defense, but others did not. Both of these trials were very horrific and the boys also said very horrific things. The jurors were said to only be shocked twice, once when Lyle said he would miss his dog more than his mom, and when Erik said he felt love for his mother when he put the shotgun against her cheek and shot her. These two comments brought the third jury to convict these brothers. The third jury did not believe that the boys killed Jose and Kitty because of the abuse that was supposedly inflicted upon them, but for them to receive their parents fortune (Latson). On March 20th, 1996, the brothers were then sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, and justice had seemed to finally be served ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Up until now I thought these were just ways of my parents getting rid of me for a couple hours a day. Up until now I did not realize that I learned anything more from playing these sports than hitting a homerun, serving a kick serve, or being able to set a ball 20 feet away. Now, I realize that all these sports have taught me some key life lessons. These sports have taught me that mistakes are great, to handle stress, and how to increase positive energy even when things are not going well. They have given me a lifetime of friends, leadership skills and more confidence in what I do. In short, playing a sport has endless benefits. One of the more obvious benefits is better health. This would not be temporary health benefits but life long. It is sad to hear that in the United States alone there has been a growth in childhood obesity. 33% of children and adolescents are obese. By participating in a sport, it helps regulates the calories that are being burned, and it helps one maintain a healthy weight. The Report from the United Nations Inter–Agency Task Force on Sport for Development and Peace states that children and teens, upon playing a sport, increase the development of healthy bones, efficient heart and lung function, and improved motor skills and cognitive function. In the story, "Winter Hibiscus" by Mingfong Ho, Saeng, a teenage girl that has moved from another country to the United States, decides to get her driver's license so she can drive her family around. Things then start to go wrong and she fails her test, but by the end of the story, she vows to take it again in the spring. In the last a paragraph of the story she states "When they come back, Saeng vowed silently to herself, in the spring, when the snows melt and the geese return and this hibiscus is budding, then I will take that test again." The author was trying to get us to think what the last part of the story means. Mingfong Ho could mean that Saeng is going to take her test again in the Spring, she will be prepared for her test by Spring, or She will get used to life in America by spring. The most simple and realistic thing the author could have meant for the last paragraph is she will simply take her test in the spring. It will also outline how strategies are used to minimise effects of challenging behaviour in health and social care settings. It will further discuss and evaluate how the strategies are used to minimise effects of one type of challenging behaviour in a health and social care setting. There are many legislations that apply to challenging behaviour and these include, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Convention on the Rights of the Child, The Child Act, The Care Standards Act, Every Child Matters. The most effective way of managing challenging behaviour is to ensure that everyone receiving care has an individualised assessment which outlines their needs and aspirations and an individualised care plan that details how they wish their services to be delivered and takes account of the competency of the care providers to do this. The assessment should take account of any potential challenging behaviour, should include a risk assessment, and should give clear guidance to staff about how to prevent and manage this. The service user should be involved in the whole process of assessment and care planning preferable via a self assessment process. The Human Rights Act 1998 came into force in October 2000 to protect fundamental rights and freedom contained in the European Convention to Human Rights. • 69. My Passion For Comedy When I first glanced at the prompts and saw the one that asked me to speak of a passion of mine, I knew that this was definitely the prompt I had to choose. My passion is my love for comedy. Comedy has always been a huge part of my life and continues to be to this day. It has encompassed my life for as long as I can remember. Whether I was looking to others to make me laugh, developing laughter from being around my family, or myself making others laugh the memories are embedded in my mind. With these memories I have come to the conclusion that I have always found a way to make others laugh. I really don't know if I make people laugh to gain friends or some other reason; whatever it may be, it has sparked a realization that this is something I love to do. When I first think about why I have a passion for comedy, I think of it as being powerful and special. It is one of those things that can unite people. Laughter doesn't discriminate, it doesn't matter your ethnicity, religion, political opinion, etc., this is what I believe makes it so captivating. With humor you can as least for a little while forget about everything going on around you, regardless of the simplicity or complexity of the situation. It is a way for us to keep our sanity and gives us the opportunity to come together and put serious issues aside or be able to look at those issues in a less hostile manner. • 86. Therapy Dogs: Project Analysis For my twenty percent time project I chose to do a project on therapy dogs. I did this project because I love dogs and helping people. One question I was hoping to have answered was how different people reacted to the dogs and how the dogs reacted or interacted with the people. I had this question answered by a few different people. During this project, I went to an assisted living place named Edgewater. While visiting Edgewater I was with Abigail Watkins, Vikki Yoder and the therapy dog named Shadow. Shadow is a black golden doodle. He is a very well trained dog with lots of experience. My project took about 12 weeks to complete. The first couple weeks in my project I focused mainly on researching about leadership, therapy dogs and things it takes to be a leader and/or start a club. I did most of the researching in school. During those first 6 weeks, I learned a lot about therapy dogs and how they can comfort anyone. They even can lower blood pressure. On the seventh or eighth week, I finally got to go to Edgewater with Shadow. It was a great experience being able to see all different people. Some of which had already seen Shadow before. The people at Edgewater loved seeing shadow, he just brought a smile to their faces. During this project, I did not quite stay on track. I did not accomplish this because I had no time to. Until eventually I found a free Saturday and we went. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I say this because I accomplished everything that I had set my mind to. Detrimental Reliance Detrimental Reliance Detrimental Reliance occurs when someone takes action or fails to take action because of what appeared to be a promise made by another individual, without knowing if true or untrue. It is very similar to Promissory Estoppel in that the other party is "estopped" or legally prevented from denying liability, even though no formal contract was formed, because of its promise. An estoppel by representation [of fact] will arise between A and B if the following elements are made out. First, A makes a false representation of fact to B or to a group of which B was a member. • 98. What Are The Characters In Everyday Use By Alice Walker When I first read Everyday Use by Alice Walker I noticed the difference between the two character Dee and Maggie. So, I decided I would focus the majority of my energy on the concept of the two sisters being the inner voices in one's head. My favorite part of Everyday Use is the contrast of the two girls. For my situation, I look at Dee being the Devil on your shoulder and Maggie as the angel. Something that stands out to me is that devil and Dee both start with the letter D. For the biblical aspect of Maggie's name the angel held highest to God is Micheal, both starting with the letter M. Do I think that Dee is always the devil character? No. I say no because I feel that deep down Dee really does care about her family and believes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then we have other days, when we feel like we should be kept in our own little bubble of insecurities and timidness, this is the Maggie is us. I have those days where I'm a red firecracker ready to take what I want when I need it. When I want to dress in bright, bold, and beautiful outfits that say 'look at me!' I am Dee on certain days. It may not be in demanding old family heirlooms and leaving when I don't get me way. However I am Dee in the sense of wanted a difference. In the story it says she was apart of the Movement. I feel that connection with Dee because I want to make a difference in the world. I think another thing that relates me to Dee in a way is that she wanted to bury her old roots, as I did as a child. However, I am also like Maggie, starting out with that she was perfectly happy with the way she was and how she grew up. I may not have saw the importance then, but I see it now. I love how the two girls showcase my personality. Some days I might be confident and ready to take on the world, but others I want to hid behind the door and flee when trouble comes near like maggie did in the beginning of our story. I connect with her because like her I have a story. My story may not be visible, but it's just as real. Another thing that makes me love her character is that by the end of the story she has evolved as a person to stand up for herself which took me a while too. Alice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 111. The Forces Of Nature In Jack London's To Build A Fire Jack London was one of the great writers in the Naturalism Period, his pieces came from a unique experience during a winter spent in the Yukon. His stories are truly special pieces to read. London, who was born 1876 in San Francisco, ventured to the Yukon in the winter of 1897 which provided inspiration for his literary art ("Jack London: Biography"). Author of many other stories, he published "To Build a Fire" in 1902; he later died in 1916 ("Jack London: Biography"). In this story, a man and a dog venture onto the cold Yukon Trail during the winter, a brutal setting for anyone. With the combination of foolish mistakes and a lack of good luck, he passes away before he can reach camp to have dinner (London, "To Build A Fire"). London, through his brilliant writing, conveys that a person should never underestimate the forces of nature. In "To Build a Fire," Jack London builds this theme through his use of conflict, foreshadowing, and figurative language. London uses an external conflict in the form of man vs. nature in order to build his theme in "To Build A Fire." In the story, in order to get to camp with the boys to eat supper, the man must fight against the brutal forces of nature. The man vs. nature conflict becomes more apparent when the narrator says, "He knew that the coldest snaps never froze these springs, and he knew likewise their danger. They were traps" ("To Build A Fire"). This conflict with the man and nature helps convey London's theme by showing how truly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She was in a new world but much of it was still the same due to her living in a Haitian neighborhood. Her mother had horrible nightmares because of her trauma at a young age of being raped. This became almost like a job for Sophie. She cared for her fragile mother. Even though she was in America, she had to be a proper Haitian lady. She couldn't stay out or express herself, which made her feel even more trapped. When her Mother started testing her, she then bore the horrible trauma just like her mother when she was violated. This furthered her internal captivity. She felt powerless and alone. She thought that breaking her hymen would free her from her trauma but it did not. She was able to escape the testing but not her on mental prison. Even sex with her husband was traumatic and painful and only furthered her captivity. She couldn't be free with binging and purging. She even tried to free herself through therapeutic means. She prayed to Erzulie to find her freedom and was troubled none the less. Trying to find a way to be free she went back to Haiti. They are both taught in groups of people that were born at the same time. The information is constantly drilled in to their heads whether they like it or not. An invention or an advancement in something will only be accepted if it helps the rest of the people, such as creating more jobs for them. It has to be more complicated than something that already exists. This helps them to keep bettering the things they have. Although the two societies have almost the same rules about new inventions, the technology they both have is nothing alike. The people in Brave New World are much more advanced. I would say they have even more than we do today. They fly around in helicopters instead of driving cars. Their helicopters even seem more advanced than ours because of how fast they go. The reason these people are so advanced is the same reason the people in Anthem have so little technology. They only allow certain people to create new things. If anyone other than these people invent something, they are punished by being whipped. They don't even have light bulbs. For some reason they choose not to make new thing better then the ones they have. They think this will hurt their society. There are two very big differences in the societies. The client seemed to have many feelings behind this statement and this belief that she could not repeat their mistakes. I think this was a missed opportunity for me in which I could have and should have gone deeper with the client. There was a lot to explore there and I think due to my nerves I just moved on to the next idea with her. I think that this would have been a great moment to use silence and allow the client to really reflect and sit with what she was saying about the "lineage of seeking our difficult situations and being a helper." I also think in hindsight that this would have been a pivotal point in the session and because I missed it, we did not really go deep in our conversation. I also wonder if this would have been a good place to interrupt the client to focus on something. When I did jump in and reflect, for some reason I just do not sit well with my reflection.
