Non-Profit Proposal
This non–profit program will be governed by a parent society. A program supervisor will be hired to
be responsible for planning, settings goals, hiring personnel, annual reporting, and developing a
budget that is fiscally feasible. Moreover, the supervisor will be responsible for planning fundraising
projects and support the program philosophy and actively involve with the needs of the children. To
offset some of the program's expenses, the administration will closely work with the local
municipality, provincial government as well as other private institutions to avail of any financial aid,
grants or subsidies that the child care centre may be eligible for. The administration will abide by the
licensing requirements and regulations and will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
– A fundraising drive will be organized for the families and staffs to participate. Proceeds will be
used for family gatherings and entertainment, to help families and the community connect together.
– Volunteers and practicum students are welcome to share their expertise in the program. – A
number of families will opt for a government subsidy for their children's child care benefits. The
centre can also assist families in supplying the necessary government forms. However, in order to
have a well–rounded financial statement to pay its staff and keep the operation running, all families
must write a postdated cheque dated every 1st day of the month for 12 months. A minimum 30–
days' notice shall be given if the parents decide to withdraw their child from the program. – If the
fiscal budget allows, new equipment or additional natural toys will be purchased. Also, a toy drive
will be organized for families where they can participate and donate new/appropriate toys to the
centre. – Finally, the administration will establish a yearly evaluation of staff and provide
increments in salary based on work performance and additional

Reactive Attachment Disorder Of Children
Reactive Attachment Disorder in Children
Introduction to the Diagnosis
According to Bowlby, the founder of attachment theory, a dependable, safe, and caring relationship
with a primary caregiver is vital to an infant's psychological health (Bowlby, 1951). In particular,
children lacking a secure attachment with their primary caregivers are at risk of developing
emotional and behavioral issues (Blakely & Dziadosz, 2015). Unfortunately, the human bonds
normally formed in infancy are fractured in neglected and abused children suffering from RAD (Shi,
2014). As a result, these children become withdrawn, distrustful, and fearful of the world (Shi,
2014).
RAD is located under Trauma and Stressor–Related Disorders in the Diagnostic and ... Show more

Notably, one quarter of children living in the United States will suffer from neglect and/or abuse
during their lifetime (CDC, 2016). As a consequence, the welfare system places at risk children in
foster homes, group homes, and institutions (Department of Health and Human Services (US
Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015).
According to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS), in 2014,
over 400,000 children were placed into foster care with over 100,000 were waiting to be adopted
(US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families,
2015). The majority of children in foster care are White (42%), the second highest are Blacks (24%)
and third are Hispanics (22%) (US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for
Children Youth and Families, 2015). Also, 52% are male and 48% are female (US Department of
Health and Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). Most children,
46%, were placed in a non–relative home and 29% with a relative (US Department of Health and
Human Services Administration for Children Youth and Families, 2015). Additionally, 6% were
sheltered in a group home and 8% in an institution (US Department of Health and Human

The concept of LRE necessitates that children with and without disabilities should be educated

Family Incarceration
Families involved with the United State's criminal justice system can benefit from a range of
organizations and resources that recognize the risks, the loss and uncertainty that is connected with
incarceration. At a federal level, the United States has introduced the Second Chance Act,
introduced by the Bush Administration in 2007, which allows aging prisoners under particular
circumstances to request to be placed in home confinement but offered "no significant legislation
addressing the socioeconomic status of current or former inmates and their family members has
emerged" (Atlantic, 2015). The bill was effective in reintroducing the offender in society but gave
little to no support for the families that had to house and help the offender. ... Show more content on

In our society, a stigma is put on anything related to crime or incarceration. I don't a have direct
relationship with incarceration and the pressure it puts on families, but I have witnessed the negative
perspective and preconceptions that are set when talking about incarceration. As a society, we speak
of the families or children that have been impacted by incarceration as if they are the ones that have
committed the crime. I have been guilty of this prejudice as well. I've automatically assumed the that
families impacted and children know the implication of their parent's or spouse's crime and should
have the ability to cope with incarceration. However, I now realize that because of this stigma of
incarceration, it often impacts those involved in their capacity to deal, to find resources to help with
the financial stressors and their overall mental health. To better improve the over the health of the
families, the state and the federal government have implemented resources and policies that can
better help families understand their unique situation and the resources available to them. The
research has to lead me to gain a perspective on incarceration and its impact, giving me a

President Obama's Child Farm Labor Bill
President Obama wanted to pass a bill that would prevent young farm workers from participating in
farm–related activities and chores. Billed as an anti–child labor act, the bill was quickly censured.
As Leven puts it, "the proposal drew heavy criticism from rural–state lawmakers and agricultural
leaders, who cast the rule as government overreach that would erode the traditional American
family." The traditional American family in this case is a rural one, which is an under–represented
segment of the population in federal politics. In addition to the way the bill harms traditional rural
life, it would also have significantly harmed the American economy at a time when the economy
needs a boost. Farm families rely on a continuity of labor, so that the young people on the family
can learn the trade as early as possible to support their future careers. Moreover, the bill represents
an unnecessary encroachment of both the government and big labor on farming practices. Part of the
bill's provision was to create a government intervention to oversee occupational safety, when there
are already independent organizations committed to meeting the same objectives. President Obama's
proposed child farm labor bill was untenable because it would damage traditional rural family life;
harm a significant part of the American economy; and enable government and big labor to intrude
upon the lives of Americans. President Obama's child farm labor bill "would apply child labor laws

Court Reporting Restrictions
The principle of open justice is an essential part for creating public confidence in the judicial
administration process in the UK and has been for over a century. Thus, in Scott v Scott Lord
Atkinson provides that a public trial is the best security for the pure, impartial and efficient
administration of justice...and the best means for winning public confidence and respect . However,
open justice is not an absolute right, and there are circumstances where open court proceedings
would defeat the object of the case. Consequently, the family justice system has a range of court
reporting restrictions which have in effect restricted the open rule principle, but have prevented`
people, in particular children, from being exploited by the media in administrating justice in the
family court. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

court, under the anonymity provisions of the Children Act 1989 and the contempt at court provisions
in section 12 of the Administration of Justice Act 1960 along with other court reporting restrictions
in the family courts, are problematic for family proceedings when compared to being protective.
Furthermore, this essay will then analyse how the protective scope of court reporting restrictions in
the family court system has been reduced as a result of the continued problems that court reporting
restrictions cause, but in a need to make the court more transparent has made the court reporting

Aging Out Research Paper
Introduction and Definition of Foster Children Aging Out
"The term 'aging out' refers to children within a state's foster care system who are still in the system
upon reaching the age of majority or when they have graduated from high school" (Craft, 2017,
Aging Out). Many of these children "have not found permanency with an adoptive family ... or they
have not been able to return to their biological parents" (Craft, 2017, Aging Out). A child typically
ages out at 18 years, "but some states have extended services beyond this age because so many
young adults are just not ready to be thrust out into the world on their own at such a young age"
(Craft, 2017, Aging Out). If a foster parent chooses to continue parenting the foster child once they
have aged out of the system, they are able to as long as the foster youth is okay with this. If an
individual continues fostering a child, they will no longer receive money from the state. "Foster care
is intended to be a temporary, safe living arrangement for children whose parents for some reason

They were able to extend her foster care until she turns 21. Her foster parents are still in her life and

Administrative Foundation Essay
From the Ground Up: Administrative Foundations A positive classroom environment and climate is
of paramount importance to the collective learning experience. A well–managed classroom improves
student concentration, increases the effectiveness of instruction, and maximizes learning. A poorly
managed classroom invites interruptions, distractions, and wastes valuable time and resources.
Educators establish the classroom environment through consistent practices, detailed expectations,
and visible leadership. Teachers utilizing positive reinforcement and respectful communication
methods are more likely to gain the respect of their students (Conroy, Sutherland, Snyder, Al–

This culture cultivates participation, collaboration, and praises effort. Expectations must be high,

husband's military service, I can testify that no two school districts are the same and many are
falling short of the ideal structure described above. Our current school climate is empowering and
persuasive! We toured through colorful thematic hallways brimming with inspirational quotes and
positive affirmations. One bulletin board proudly displayed photos of students undertaking self–
management jobs around the campus; a second bulletin board displayed a dream career portrait of
every student at the school. Our decision to enroll in this school was instant! Following enrollment,
my children were issued school pride shirts to wear every Friday as well as instructions to wear
college themed apparel every Monday (promoting the hope for every child to attend the college of
their choice.) Every morning the school day begins with a student led, televised, "morning show"

Persuasive Essay On Childhood Obesity
A Deeper Look into Childhood Obesity The percentage of children with obesity in the United States
has more than tripled since the 1970s ("Healthy Schools."). Childhood obesity is a medical
condition that affects children and teenagers who contain excess body fat. This condition is very
common today, having about 3 million cases per year ("Healthy Schools."). A sign that a child is
suffering from obesity is when their weight is well above the average for a child's height and age.
Today about one in five school children, ages 6–19, are obese ("Healthy Schools."). I will be
addressing the causes, health complications, treatments, controversy, and supporting obese students.
First and foremost, the most common causes of childhood obesity are genetic factors, overeating,
and not exercising enough. Although obesity may run in a family, it does not determine whether a
child will be obese or not ("Obesity in Children"). If a child who comes from a family of obesity,
happens to become overweight like them, the likely cause is due to bad eating and activity habits.
Many children today spend more time inside the house eating and watching television, rather than
being active outdoors ("Obesity in Children"). This is due to the recent popularity of having
electronics such as television, games, and phones serve as entertainment. Another reason for the
excessive eating is because parents are often too busy to cook healthy foods on a regular basis,
leaving children to rely on fast food or

Persuasive Essay On Immigration Reform
The United States, immigration policy is at a standstill due to intense political divisions.
Undocumented immigrants face major issues by coming to this country to get a chance in rising
socioeconomically and to achieve a better way of life for themselves, as well as for their families.
Refugees fleeing their unsafe and war destructed countries are punished by this political division,
waiting and seeking asylum in the United States. Immigration in the United States has long
supported the growth and power of the economy of this country. Immigrants are taxpayers,
consumers, entrepreneurs and job creators. They contribute trillions of dollars to the US economy
and are vital for the future of the United States. The new administration with its threats of increased
immigration enforcement and restrictions on legal immigrants and refugees will cost the taxpayer
huge amounts and is threatening immigrants and their families. An Immigration Reform needs to be
put in place to address the following issues; safety of immigrants, stop racial profiling by policy
officers, work visas and protecting the dreamers with the DREAM ACT which would help millions
of undocumented youth a pathway to citizenship through education.
Solutions

revision to help the current labor market and grow the economy. Driven by myths that immigrants

If women were able to control when they wanted to give birth and how many children they wanted

Children Of Poverty And Poverty
Children Living in Poverty
Andrea Guzmán
California State University, Fullerton
I. NEEDS STATEMENT
Children who live in extreme poverty or who live below the poverty line for multiple years appear,
all other things being equal, to suffer the worst outcomes Income poverty is the condition of not
having enough income to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Because children are
dependent on others, they enter or avoid poverty by virtue of their family 's economic
circumstances. Children cannot alter family conditions by themselves, at least until they approach
adulthood (Brooks–Gunn & Duncan, 1997). A child living in poverty is a societal issue that affects
society as a whole.

Several childhood diseases have been nearly eradicated in the United States because of the required

The Federal Definition Of Foster Care
Donella H. Meadows defines a system as a "set of elements or parts that is coherently organized and
interconnected in a pattern or structure that produces a characteristic set of behaviors" (Meadows,
2014, p. 188). The federal definition of foster care is a "24–hour substitute care for children placed
away from their parents or guardians and for whom the State agency has placement and care
responsibility" (Johnson, 2004). Therapeutic foster care is a subsystem of the suprasystem which is
foster care. The Quality Foster Care Services Act defines therapeutic foster care as foster care which
is highly effective in placing children with serious medical, psychological, emotional, and social
needs into a home in which foster parents are specially trained to address the needs and challenges
of the children (U.S. Senators Baldwin and Portman Lead Effort to Improve Foster Care Services for
America's Most Vulnerable Youth, 2014).
Goals, elements, and concepts
Goal of the system
Many systems are goal oriented. They interact with the environment in order to achieve a specific
goal or target. The primary goal of placing a child in the TFC agency with medically fragile children
is to meet the medical and mental health needs present (Youth, 2014). Additionally, a sense of
permanency is the end goal for all children in the suprasystem of foster care. This would come by
way of returning the child back to their original home with their parents or guardians or having the

Persuasive Essay On Cutting School Programs
John F. Kennedy once said, "Children are the world's most vulnerable resources and its best hope for
the future". The Trump administration is planning on cutting school programs in 2018 because of the
lack of sufficient evidence that they work. These programs include, after–school programs, reduced
or paid lunches, and 20 other services ("Fiscal Year 2018 Education Budget"). Kamenetz wrote an
article explaining that 9.2 billion dollars, or 13.5% of the education funding will be reduced. This is
a problematic issue because funds being reduced could harm many children and families financially
and hinder their academic success. Paid or reduced lunches help families that cannot afford full
priced meals; furthermore, these programs are full of children of low–income houses (Huang 9).
Lowering funds for afterschool programs could damage a child's success.
This is a sociological problem because it affects children, families, schools, and their communities.
Families are affected because they might have to find extra money to support their child's lunch
account. Also, this could increase food insufficiency in the family, as well as, role strain and conflict
with the parents being employers and care takers. According to the U.S Department of Education,
schools in low–income areas lack vital resources, so to decrease funds, these programs will probably
diminish all together. Communities containing schools with bad reputations could cause less people
to move there. The conflict theory

The Boundary Of The Yakama Nation Reservation
Problems
The boundary of the Yakama Nation Reservation is considered home to different culturally diverse
populations. Parenting skills and teaching can vary dramatically from each of those unique
households. The diverse populations come with varying levels of what is considered appropriate
child rearing practices. "Child abuse intakes are increasing due to families from Mexico coming
here to the US and the standards are different" (Ruiz, 2015). Pilar Ruiz is a Social Worker at
Children's Administration assigned to the Child Protective Services. Families migrate to the area and
they carry different perspectives on parenting and may not understand the expectations of
Washington State and Child Abuse Laws. It is not only migrant families that need additional
support. Families that have been here for many years have traditional practices that may cross the
line when it comes to child abuse and neglect. These families that are located in this area need the
additional support of increasing family bonds, healthy parenting, life skills, bonding, and reducing
violence and substance abuse.
Macro & Personal Reality
Establishing positive parenting skills within the community will assist the parents in gaining new
alternatives to their current practices. "Often we get the same families that are repeat offenders or
they never really learn their ways of parenting are not acceptable" (Ruiz, 2015). Providing the

Home Inequalities In Public Schools
When the Home Hurts the Schooled: The Inequalities in Public School Education
The education system in America is stained by racial and structural inequalities that cause those in
lower income areas to not receive the necessary resources that enable a student to thrive. These
benefits are as simple as certified teachers (Turner), maintained classrooms, and even accredited
school districts. The common denominator in the lack of basic expectations is the type of funding
public schools receive. The federal government gives "about 10 percent of the money schools have
to spend" (Turner), while the state and mainly local dollars have to provide the rest. When the
majority of a school's funding is produced using the local region's property taxes, ... Show more

covenants, a "legally enforceable 'contract' imposed in a deed upon the buyer of property" ("1920s–

ownership to a black family. Covenants, neighborhood groups, and other types of legislative or
physical interference, froze efforts to integrate, forcing black families to live in inadequate housing
conditions at absurdly high prices.
After racially restrictive covenants and Federal Housing Administration practices were deemed
racist and immoral, the damage was already done. Black families living in previously marked "red

public schools in these districts suffered as well because of the decreasing values of the properties

Congress to receive an increase in benefits now that it is set on autopilot to adjust to the current
economic perspectives/activity. For instance, the 2017 COLA adjustments for all SSI beneficiaries

Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In Article 3 it states that "everyone has the right to
life, liberty, and the security of person." These children are having all this taken away from them. In
Article 4 it states that "no one shall be held in servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be
prohibited in all their forms." These children are slaves and are being forced to do things that they
don't want to do. The United States was founded on freedom and liberty. They should help others
achieve the American standard of living. Also the United States should help based on these two
articles and what the document stands for is freedom to all. I believe that the departments that will
help the most are the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and
Families, and Central Intelligence Agency. The Department of Health and Human Services is in
charge of insuring the health for all American families and children. They have many programs
including SNAP they gives food stamps to families with low income. This helps them get food with
these stamps and so

New York City Family Services Case Study
According to the 2010 Plan for the Future of the New York City Family Court, the main goal of
family court relies on ensuring "the highest standard of justice for each and every litigant who enters
the courthouse" (2010). This is done by executing a sequence of processes and by providing
different resources to individuals involved in the case. There are three major organizations that serve
an important role in Family Court. These organizations ensure justice for individuals entering the
family court system by providing a variety of different services. These organizations include the
Administration for Children's Services, the Legal Aid Society and the Panel of 18b Attorneys. Each
of the three organizations mentioned, work to ensure the welfare of children and service to families
by providing a variety of different services.
Administration for Children's Services The Administration for Children's Services otherwise known
as ACS, is an organization that works to ensure the welfare of children and to service families by
providing a variety of different services. As stated on the Administration for Children's Services
website, their mission is portrayed as the following "To protects and promotes the safety and well–
being of New York City's children, young people, families, and communities by providing excellent
child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care and education services". The Administration for

The agency I have chosen is Administration for Children's Services (ACS). It is an agency that is a
part of the New York City government. Administration for Children's Services protects, ensures, and
promotes the wellbeing of New York City's children and families. ACS investigates child abuse and
neglect. They have numerous responsibilities such as investigations and evaluations of the safety
and well–being of children. They also assess the risk of future abuse, file petitions and testify in
family court, and identify interventions that can reduce risks to children. They provide direct foster

Once a report meets the requirements for an investigation it is assigned to a Child Protective
Specialist and a child protective investigation must commence. An attempt to contact the reported
child's family must be conducted within 24 to 48 hours of receiving the report. They then have up to
60 days to investigate and make a determination on the allegation or allegations made in the initial
report. This includes any other evidence of abuse or maltreatment discovered during the course of an
investigation. In the event that the Child Protective Specialist should find credible evidence of
maltreatment of abuse, it is the duty of ACS to take action based on the assessment of risk in the
situation. Action can range from removing a child from their home to providing and referring a
family to preventative services contracted through ACS. It is their duty to provide effective
interventions that reduce risk to children. There are over 1,200 Child Protective Specialists who
conduct daily investigations. In 2016 "the State Central Register got 64,851 reports from across the
five boroughs and ACS conducted 57,160 consolidated investigations at the state's request." As of
September 2016 there were an average of 9 cases per caseworker, which is under the target of 12
cases per worker. ACS often takes preventative measures to provide safety for children and families
but there are times when they fail to perform their duties effectively, leaving children to remain in

Needy Family Policy Analysis
The historical policy that contributed to the changes in welfare happened during the Clinton
administration "the passage of legislation that replaced AFDC with Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF) represented a giant step backward in the effort to provide economic security for
children. The passage of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of
1996 (PRWORA), replaced AFDC with TANF and as a result, it canceled the federal guarantee of
support of poor children that had been established earlier by the 1935 Social Security Act" (Chapin,
2014, p.101). It disregarded the needs of children living in poverty, and for mothers who had young
children, and limited education or job skills. This legislation also had ... Show more content on

States receive block grants to design and operate programs that accomplish one of the purposes of
the TANF program" (Office of Family Assistance, 2015, p.1). The purpose of the program includes
to "provide assistance to needy families so that children can be cared for in their home, reduce the
dependency of needy parents by promoting job preparation, work and marriage, prevent and reduce
the incidence of out–of–wedlock pregnancies and encourage the formation and maintenance of two–
parent families" (OFA, 2014, p.1). However, many of these things are falling short because needs
are not being met and the program criteria is outdated and based on earlier welfare reforms started
during the 70's thru the 90's. One example, is the Family Assistance Plan (FAP) that never got
passed during the Nixon administration. However, the program was criticized because "the
minimum income level was actually less than the established poverty level and the work
requirements for the able–bodied poor included mothers with children over three years of age"
(Chapin, 2014, p.87). This policy was not passed because of these issues, however, they are now
part of TANF today. FAP was referred to as the negative income tax policy because the thinking
relates back to the English Poor Laws. The

Children Of Alcoholics Growing Into Adulthood
Every generation that is born is the future of the world. We evolve as a society as one, we build each
other up for the future. The source of this extravagant outcome is people, but we cannot succeed as a
whole if there are individuals who are suffering and are in need of help. Some who need help and
guidance are children of alcoholics (COA's), they bear the time they live with their parents and they
do not receive help in the process. These children go through so many different issues with family,
school, their social, physical and mental wellbeing. Children of alcoholics growing into adulthood
have negative outcomes that can be diminished by school administration taking a stand to exhibit
attention and support to the situation. The schools can contribute tremendously by having guest
speakers to talk about the subject, and by introducing a counseling profession that can have a
thorough background, plus a program or organization that is able to connect with these children to
help and support them.
When offspring live in an emotional and unstable household, they will have many factors that
contribute to their wellbeing. By living with an alcoholic parent it will leave pressure and stress on
the child. The negative factors and risks that affect how children of alcoholics will become going
into adulthood are stated by Sihyun Park and Karen Schepp. The influences that affect the offspring

Argumentative Essay On Foster Children
Abstract
In the United States there are 428,000 children in foster care. There is a plethora of reasons why
children are placed into the foster care system. Reasons could be neglect, abuse, abandonment and
or death. In order for a child to be placed into a foster home; a foster care parent must obey to the
regulations. The purpose of my research paper is I would like to answer the question should the
foster care system regulations be revised. The topic is very imperative to me because I believe that
children of the foster care system have a voice and the regulations in today's time need to be
renewed so they can have a voice. I conducted my research on this by reading Michigan regulations
for foster care and articles about foster children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the foster care rate has drastically increased, the outdated stipulations are still intact. The
foster care parent must have a license to foster a child. Once a child has reached the age of 17 the
foster care is no longer obligated to take care of the child. The reasons behind why each child is
placed into foster care can vary from being neglected or abused in a previous home, to being labeled
as a juvenile delinquent for committing several legal offenses. Foster Care has expanded over the
years. Many organizations have voiced their support for reformation of foster care. Many
organizations include United States Children Bureau, Children's Aid Society and Child Welfare
League of America. The vision is to make foster care a widely known organization. In the future,
there will be more stable homes so that children do not need foster care . More citizens will have the
courage and determination to adopt a child. The Foster Care System won't have as many cases.
Parents will take care of their children properly and less children will get in trouble so they don't
have to go into the foster care system. The System regulations are more flexible. The system cares

Assignment #1
The agency that I chose was the Administration for Children and Families. This organization really
sparks my interest because I find family as the most important think in a childs life. This
organization's parent agency is the Department of Health and Human Sciences.
This organizations main goal is to provide help to those familys and children who need aid. There
are several tiers at which this organization has pledged their help. In their strategic plan they have 5
main goals in which they have go into detail as to what each main goal will accomplish.
The first main goal of the ACF is "Promote Economic, Health, and Social Well–Being for
Individuals, Families, and Communities" (ACF, 4). With in this section it breaks down further how
they are going to help the families out. They also break it down into where that particular sub–goal
would help with in other agencies. To name a few agencies that they help with in this first goal are,
the Office of Regional Operations, the Office of Child Support Enforcement, and Family and Youth
Services Bureau. This first goal mainly focuses on how the ACF will be helping the families who
have a lower income, helping out the community, to help families make healthy choices with in their
relationship, helping those in the low income families finding work if need be, and help allow
families get affordable health care.

Asthma In Children: A Case Study
For this week's discussion, I will focus on asthma in children, the different medications to treat
asthma, and the different routes that these medications can be given. Asthma is a chronic
inflammatory disorder of the airways that is one of the most common causes of missed school days,
in addition to disrupting sleep, play and other activities (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2017). In addition,
asthma is the most common chronic condition among US children affecting more than 6 million
children and accounting for about 20 billion dollars in annual health care costs (Sleath et al., 2014).

Law Enforcement Summary : Child Protective Services And...
The instant a child has been expected of being abused or neglected and a responsible citizen takes
the initiative to involve authorities on the behalf of the children is the ultimate time when a life
changing moment occurs. Child Protective Services makes the decision as to whether or not a
reported situation is worthy of an investigation. Reporting neglect or abuse doesn't have to directly
be made to Child Protective Services; law enforcement can be notified as well through an
emergency and/or non–emergency hotline. Child Protective Services and law enforcement personnel
work hand in hand, but each entity completes a different type of investigation. The law enforcement
investigation involves criminal charges and deciding whether a not a caregiver, guardian, parent or
anyone else broke any laws and regulations. Child Protective Services investigation will involve
whether or not a child is being neglected and should be placed in an alternative living arrangement,
along with completing other family assessments. Law enforcement has the power to place a child in
protective custody, that has been neglected or abused, or even when there is a reasonable amount of
suspicion of abuse or neglect. The child or children in question can be placed in the custody of child
protective services after being placed in protective custody. Next, the child or the children will be
placed in foster care or with an approved relative. In intense instances of manhandle and disregard, a

The Beneficial Head Start Program Essay
The Head Start program is a beneficial one that helps youth overcome educational setbacks. In order
for one to understand the benefits of the program one must know what its goals are, how its goals
continue to be accomplished, what specific setbacks are remedied from it and how others feel about
it.
Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that has an overall goal to prepare
children from low–income families for school (The Administration For Children And Families,
2002). To prepare a child for school the program has the goal of meeting educational, health, social
service, and parental needs. "Head Start also wants to help bring about a greater degree of social

The social services aspect of needs is met after the needs are identified. The family would be
eligible for community outreach programs, referrals, recruitment and enrollment of other children,
and emergency assistance and or crisis intervention (U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, 2002).
Although the Head Start program focuses on preparing the children for school it does offer outreach
and training activities to assist parents with understanding their child's development and their overall
parenting skills (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2001). Parental needs are met when
parents receive classes or workshops that educate them on their child's development allowing
parents to create activities for their child at home as well as when they are in Head Start (US
Department of Health and Human Services, 2002).
"The program also encourages parents to: volunteer in the classroom, participate in home visits by
the teacher at least twice a year, enroll in job training programs, literacy programs, or other adult
education programs, serve on policy making bodies, apply to work in the program, and serve in
state, regional, or national Head Start Associations (Mallory and Goldsmith, 2002)."
Head Start has already accomplished the goal of affecting services available for low–income
families and children. This is being accomplished due to better resource and referral services (Blank,
2002). 20,302,000 children have been enrolled in the

Some states have already started making progress in modeling and developing early learning

services are not just offered at the school programs but in the home as well. The administration
believes that some of the funding that is allocated to these programs should be used in recruiting and

The evolution of technology has made a radical change in our society today. It has taken a toll in the
way operations systems work in many corporations and health industries. Many corporations invest

For a human services provider the ability is critical in meeting objectives. Interoperability focuses
on care delivery. In the Administration for children and families, the three methods of
interoperability would be the information of sharing, exchanging, improve services of delivery. The
main goal would be to provide better outcome for children and their families.
The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Human Services (HS) Domain was established
by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and recognized by the NIEM Executive
Steering Council in March, 2012 to support information sharing and promote interoperability
between and beyond Human Service organizations in connection with federal, state, local, and tribal
agencies.
The initial scope of the NIEM HS Domain will be determined by the HS Domain Governance
Group. Here are some of the examples of data exchanges to be considered by this group:

On the one hand, childcare centers tend to be professional at taking care of children, but they are
usually costly and lack of family's close–knit relationship. Firstly, such centers often afford

Reactive Attachment Disorder Of Children Reactive Attachment Disorder in Children Introduction to the Diagnosis According to Bowlby, the founder of attachment theory, a dependable, safe, and caring relationship with a primary caregiver is vital to an infant's psychological health (Bowlby, 1951). In particular, children lacking a secure attachment with their primary caregivers are at risk of developing emotional and behavioral issues (Blakely & Dziadosz, 2015). Unfortunately, the human bonds normally formed in infancy are fractured in neglected and abused children suffering from RAD (Shi, 2014). Family Incarceration Families involved with the United State's criminal justice system can benefit from a range of organizations and resources that recognize the risks, the loss and uncertainty that is connected with incarceration. At a federal level, the United States has introduced the Second Chance Act, introduced by the Bush Administration in 2007, which allows aging prisoners under particular circumstances to request to be placed in home confinement but offered "no significant legislation addressing the socioeconomic status of current or former inmates and their family members has emerged" (Atlantic, 2015). In our society, a stigma is put on anything related to crime or incarceration. I don't a have direct relationship with incarceration and the pressure it puts on families, but I have witnessed the negative perspective and preconceptions that are set when talking about incarceration. As a society, we speak of the families or children that have been impacted by incarceration as if they are the ones that have committed the crime. I have been guilty of this prejudice as well. I've automatically assumed the that families impacted and children know the implication of their parent's or spouse's crime and should have the ability to cope with incarceration. However, I now realize that because of this stigma of incarceration, it often impacts those involved in their capacity to deal, to find resources to help with the financial stressors and their overall mental health. • 9. President Obama's Child Farm Labor Bill President Obama wanted to pass a bill that would prevent young farm workers from participating in farm–related activities and chores. Billed as an anti–child labor act, the bill was quickly censured. As Leven puts it, "the proposal drew heavy criticism from rural–state lawmakers and agricultural leaders, who cast the rule as government overreach that would erode the traditional American family." The traditional American family in this case is a rural one, which is an under–represented segment of the population in federal politics. In addition to the way the bill harms traditional rural life, it would also have significantly harmed the American economy at a time when the economy needs a boost. Farm families rely on a continuity of labor, so that the young people on the family can learn the trade as early as possible to support their future careers. Moreover, the bill represents an unnecessary encroachment of both the government and big labor on farming practices. Part of the bill's provision was to create a government intervention to oversee occupational safety, when there are already independent organizations committed to meeting the same objectives. President Obama's proposed child farm labor bill was untenable because it would damage traditional rural family life; harm a significant part of the American economy; and enable government and big labor to intrude upon the lives of Americans. President Obama's child farm labor bill "would apply child labor laws to children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thus, in Scott v Scott Lord Atkinson provides that a public trial is the best security for the pure, impartial and efficient administration of justice...and the best means for winning public confidence and respect . However, open justice is not an absolute right, and there are circumstances where open court proceedings would defeat the object of the case. Aging Out Research Paper Introduction and Definition of Foster Children Aging Out "The term 'aging out' refers to children within a state's foster care system who are still in the system upon reaching the age of majority or when they have graduated from high school" (Craft, 2017, Aging Out). Many of these children "have not found permanency with an adoptive family ... or they have not been able to return to their biological parents" (Craft, 2017, Aging Out). A child typically ages out at 18 years, "but some states have extended services beyond this age because so many young adults are just not ready to be thrust out into the world on their own at such a young age" (Craft, 2017, Aging Out). If a foster parent chooses to continue parenting the foster child once they have aged out of the system, they are able to as long as the foster youth is okay with this. A well–managed classroom improves student concentration, increases the effectiveness of instruction, and maximizes learning. A poorly managed classroom invites interruptions, distractions, and wastes valuable time and resources. Educators establish the classroom environment through consistent practices, detailed expectations, and visible leadership. Our current school climate is empowering and persuasive! We toured through colorful thematic hallways brimming with inspirational quotes and positive affirmations. One bulletin board proudly displayed photos of students undertaking self– management jobs around the campus; a second bulletin board displayed a dream career portrait of every student at the school. • 17. Persuasive Essay On Childhood Obesity A Deeper Look into Childhood Obesity The percentage of children with obesity in the United States has more than tripled since the 1970s ("Healthy Schools."). Childhood obesity is a medical condition that affects children and teenagers who contain excess body fat. This condition is very common today, having about 3 million cases per year ("Healthy Schools."). A sign that a child is suffering from obesity is when their weight is well above the average for a child's height and age. Today about one in five school children, ages 6–19, are obese ("Healthy Schools."). I will be addressing the causes, health complications, treatments, controversy, and supporting obese students. First and foremost, the most common causes of childhood obesity are genetic factors, overeating, and not exercising enough. Although obesity may run in a family, it does not determine whether a child will be obese or not ("Obesity in Children"). If a child who comes from a family of obesity, happens to become overweight like them, the likely cause is due to bad eating and activity habits. Many children today spend more time inside the house eating and watching television, rather than being active outdoors ("Obesity in Children"). This is due to the recent popularity of having electronics such as television, games, and phones serve as entertainment. Another reason for the excessive eating is because parents are often too busy to cook healthy foods on a regular basis, leaving children to rely on fast food or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Undocumented immigrants face major issues by coming to this country to get a chance in rising socioeconomically and to achieve a better way of life for themselves, as well as for their families. Refugees fleeing their unsafe and war destructed countries are punished by this political division, waiting and seeking asylum in the United States. Immigration in the United States has long supported the growth and power of the economy of this country. Immigrants are taxpayers, consumers, entrepreneurs and job creators. They contribute trillions of dollars to the US economy and are vital for the future of the United States. The new administration with its threats of increased immigration enforcement and restrictions on legal immigrants and refugees will cost the taxpayer huge amounts and is threatening immigrants and their families. An Immigration Reform needs to be put in place to address the following issues; safety of immigrants, stop racial profiling by policy officers, work visas and protecting the dreamers with the DREAM ACT which would help millions of undocumented youth a pathway to citizenship through education. Meadows defines a system as a "set of elements or parts that is coherently organized and interconnected in a pattern or structure that produces a characteristic set of behaviors" (Meadows, 2014, p. 188). The federal definition of foster care is a "24–hour substitute care for children placed away from their parents or guardians and for whom the State agency has placement and care responsibility" (Johnson, 2004). Therapeutic foster care is a subsystem of the suprasystem which is foster care. The Quality Foster Care Services Act defines therapeutic foster care as foster care which is highly effective in placing children with serious medical, psychological, emotional, and social needs into a home in which foster parents are specially trained to address the needs and challenges of the children (U.S. Senators Baldwin and Portman Lead Effort to Improve Foster Care Services for America's Most Vulnerable Youth, 2014). Goals, elements, and concepts Goal of the system Many systems are goal oriented. They interact with the environment in order to achieve a specific goal or target. The primary goal of placing a child in the TFC agency with medically fragile children is to meet the medical and mental health needs present (Youth, 2014). Additionally, a sense of permanency is the end goal for all children in the suprasystem of foster care. • 33. Persuasive Essay On Cutting School Programs John F. Kennedy once said, "Children are the world's most vulnerable resources and its best hope for the future". The Trump administration is planning on cutting school programs in 2018 because of the lack of sufficient evidence that they work. These programs include, after–school programs, reduced or paid lunches, and 20 other services ("Fiscal Year 2018 Education Budget"). Kamenetz wrote an article explaining that 9.2 billion dollars, or 13.5% of the education funding will be reduced. This is a problematic issue because funds being reduced could harm many children and families financially and hinder their academic success. Paid or reduced lunches help families that cannot afford full priced meals; furthermore, these programs are full of children of low–income houses (Huang 9). Lowering funds for afterschool programs could damage a child's success. This is a sociological problem because it affects children, families, schools, and their communities. Families are affected because they might have to find extra money to support their child's lunch account. Also, this could increase food insufficiency in the family, as well as, role strain and conflict with the parents being employers and care takers. According to the U.S Department of Education, schools in low–income areas lack vital resources, so to decrease funds, these programs will probably diminish all together. Communities containing schools with bad reputations could cause less people to move there. The conflict theory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These families that are located in this area need the additional support of increasing family bonds, healthy parenting, life skills, bonding, and reducing violence and substance abuse. Home Inequalities In Public Schools When the Home Hurts the Schooled: The Inequalities in Public School Education The education system in America is stained by racial and structural inequalities that cause those in lower income areas to not receive the necessary resources that enable a student to thrive. These benefits are as simple as certified teachers (Turner), maintained classrooms, and even accredited school districts. The common denominator in the lack of basic expectations is the type of funding public schools receive. These covenants were typically used to permit the denial of ownership to a black family. Covenants, neighborhood groups, and other types of legislative or physical interference, froze efforts to integrate, forcing black families to live in inadequate housing conditions at absurdly high prices. After racially restrictive covenants and Federal Housing Administration practices were deemed racist and immoral, the damage was already done. Black families living in previously marked "red zones" could not afford to move out of their segregated and underdeveloped neighborhoods. The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) For a start, as my policy analysis term paper, I subjectively selected the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) policy administered by the Social Security Administration Act, based on my personal experience with the policy and from curiosity as how the mechanisms of the policy truly operate. The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Title XVI, is a United States federal government income supplement program that is "funded by tax revenues not social security taxes – it is designed to help aged, blind, and disabled people, who have little or no income; and it provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter" (Social Security Administration, 2016). They are also sold into slavery, never to see their families again. The majority of these children are deprived the rights given to them in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In Article 3 it states that "everyone has the right to life, liberty, and the security of person." These children are having all this taken away from them. These children are slaves and are being forced to do things that they don't want to do. The United States was founded on freedom and liberty.
