• When water leaks from a faulty dishwasher or

3. What Water Damage Coverage is Added
If I Buy The Open Peril Endorsement?
• Water damage caused by human error
such as a tub or sink overflow.
• An open peril endorsement provides
broadening coverages on the
homeowners insurance policy. It is
covered unless specifically excluded.

4. Sump Pump/Sewer Backup Endorsement
• This is an Important endorsement if you have
a finished basement and you have a sump
pump or drain in your basement.
• A separate limit is needed to properly cover
furniture, furnace, carpet etc.

5. Flood Insurance (Separate Policy)
• Flood insurance provides coverage when
water enters your home from the ground.
• This is a separate policy. Flood is not covered
on the homeowners insurance policy.
• If you are not in a high flood zone, the
premium for a flood insurance policy is as little
as $250 - $350.

6. Water Damage
• Water can damage a home in many different ways in your home and
the cost of repair can be very expensive.
• Your homeowners insurance policy might not provide coverage in
specific situations depending on how and why the water is causing
damage.

sure you are protected in the event of a loss.
