triple, and even one that claims to hold 5 loads! Just name your poison. The Extractor is another

pressed on to clothing to remove creases. For several centuries ironing process involved:

2. A piece of fabric was place over the item of clothing to be ironed to ensure that the exposed metal
did not leave a mark

During a time of great technological advancement, keeping a job has become difficult throughout
the United States. Robots, computers, and other machines are now able to perform human tasks,
taking over many jobs. As economic concerns rose throughout America, former President Barack
Obama spoke about issue in his farewell address, stating that economic dislocations will result from
the high rate of automation taking over middle–class positions (Gillespie). This suggests that
advancement in automation is causing job loss, which will hurt the economy of America. Because

We all do it; it just depends on how and where. I 'm talking about washing clothes. You do it
yourself at home, go to a Laundromat or have them professional cleaned. One way or the other it has
to be done because we like to look and smell good. I wash my clothes at home on a weekly basis. I
do this so that I can take my time and pace myself because, washing clothes is very time consuming.
The tricky part of it is that your way may not be my way, but since this is my story, it 's my way, so

choosing to do the work of somehow altering or getting free of my natural, hard wired default
setting which is to be deeply and literally self–centered and to see and interpret life through this lens
of self" (Wallace 3). What Wallace means in this quote is that our default setting is to think about
ourselves without even thinking twice about it, and that we are the absolute center of the universe.
Wallace first makes this statement in section two of the speech, but he keeps talking about this idea

45 Minutes of Terror I had just woken up to violent rays of sunshine sneaking through my window.
It was the summer of 2015 and it was a Wednesday. The house was hushed. Our parents were at
work so my sister, Kendallyn, and I stayed home. As I trudged through house, I saw that an
astronomical pile of clothes was waiting on me in the living room and a gargantuan pile of dishes
was lingering in the kitchen sink. It was 9:00 A.M. and I was starving, but we had no food in the
fridge or cabinets because my mom had yet to go to the grocery store. Kendallyn decided to finally

I grabbed Kendallyn from the bathroom and we ran down the stairs into the basement– my older
sisters room that is 80% underground and has one barred window and absolutely no cell phone
service. Once I told her the cause of alarm, she understood and from that moment on our instincts
kicked in. We were fully prepared because we had made a plan. We had no real weapons, but we did
have my older sister's batons she used as a majorette. We decided that if they could unintentionally
break a nose, they would prove to be valuable for intentional injury if need be. We waited for what
seemed like hours in our little corner of the basement, but was really only about 40 minutes until I
decided we needed a phone. Kendallyn stealthily ran up the stairs to check on the invaders status
before I made a break to my room. I sprinted and did a ninja roll down the hall and into the living
room and snatched my phone from the table. To my surprise, I saw I had 15 missed calls from aunt
and 3 from my grandmother. I called them back and was astonished to learn they had waited outside
our house in the sweltering heat for 45 minutes because they wanted to see Kendallyn's pig and were
wondering why we have not made our way outside to greet them. Finally, we met them on the porch
after our 45–minute terror. We told them our story and they ridiculed us for a good 15 minutes. We
