2. Working in pharmaceuticals for almost
three decades, Maher Ishak founded
upstate New York’s Woodbury Pharmacy in
Highland Mills. Establishing a sound
reputation as a reliable pharmacist, Maher
Ishak ensures Woodbury Pharmacy remains
on top of its competitors with state-of-the-
art technology and both Rx and front-end
pharmacy services. Away from work,
Maher. Ishak enjoys fishing in local lakes.
3. With 1,233 lakes and 1,788 rivers and
streams, Highland Mills has no shortage of
waters to fish. The most common species in
the region is rainbow trout, native to North
America. A torpedo-shaped fish in the
salmon family, the species usually grows to
a size of about 30 inches and a weight of
approximately eight pounds. However,
rainbow trout as large as four feet have
been caught, weighing in excess of 50
pounds.
4. Carnivores, these fish live off of
crustaceans and smaller fish. They also
consume insects. While some make their
way out to sea, a majority of rainbow
trout find homes in streams. Those that
travel as far as the ocean eventually
return home to their natural freshwater
habitat.
