• Understand what BABoK® believes

• Understanding the role of a BA
from BABOK® perspective

Review the knowledge areas
• Review understanding of each
KA, its importance / Tasks
(Purpose / Description /
Elements)
• Validate your understanding of
KA/processes through Adaptive
practice questions and
question bank

Be happy – No memory based questions
• No need to memorize inputs/
guidelines & tools /outputs for
tasks.
• There are no memory based
direct questions or match the
column kind of questions.

Exam and Question Pattern
• Single correct option questions.
• Roughly 40% case based
questions
• Some cases can be 2 pages and
some into small paragraphs.
• Case based questions require
time to go through them

Understand BA Techniques

Examination Tips

Manage time
• Time management is key here
• Although not complex, case based
questions require significant time.
• Focus on last 2 paragraph of the
case.
• Take 2 to 3 minute breaks after 45
mins to rejuvenate

Attempt all Questions
• Questions are from all parts of
BABOK® except perspectives.
• Attempt all questions as there is
no negative marking
• You don’t lose anything by
attempting the question which
you don’t know also

Use elimination technique
• Scenario based questions are
hard where two of the options
are most likely the answers.
• Use elimination technique to
focus on 2 most likely answers
• Be cautious of distractors

Use elimination technique
• Question will be framed in
such a way that most of the
times it will point out the
similarities between the two
but one or two words will
make the difference and you
should be able to catch that.

Identify easy pickings
• Questions with basic maths
(percentage calculation, day
calculation) by taking a close
look into the table and data
provided in the questions one
should be able to crack it.
• No KA knowledge or formula
was required.

Do not ponder over questions
• Mark questions for review.
• Some questions are tricky
and its better to mark them
for review and come back
later.

Your understanding is vital
• Since it is a competency based
examination, focus more on
understanding the
scenarios/cases.
