Albert Bandura (1925-2021) was the David Starr Jordan Professor Emeritus of Social Science in Psychology at Stanford University. He was a major influence on the transition between behaviorism and cognitive psychology and contributed to the field of psychology in many ways for over 70 years. He proposed the Social Cognitive Theory that talked about human beings getting influenced by models they observe around them. These models could emerge out of a person’s daily interactions, experiences, and also media influences. This was another view of behavior as opposed to looking at it from the perspective of what was reinforced or has the consequences of punishment.
