Formal Sentence Outline
For your formal draft, compose a formal sentence outline. All sub–headings (A, B, & C) on your
formal outline will follow the same format for sub–headings on the working outline and may include
more headings than the ones that I have listed. If you feel that your opponents' arguments are
stronger than your own, then you will want to swap the ideas in Headings II and III in order to
leave your reader with the final thoughts of the analysis of your own arguments.
Process for Writing the Paper:
Compose your outline from your annotated bibliography, alternating your sources in each paragraph.
(Three different sources per paragraph: one expert opinion; one story of someone suffering from this
issue; and one statistic per paragraph) (Remember to include the...show more content...

Contractions (for example won't, can't, haven't, etc.)
There is or there are, which are considered fillers that take up space

Frankenstein: Outline
Introduction:
We have all heard of the big scary monster of Frankenstein. It has been a story told through decades,
each story a little different.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is the original story of Frankenstein's monster. She wrote the story of
Victor Frankenstein and his creation.
Through decades of this story being told, society has stripped away Shelley's original description of
the monster and created an entirely new set of ideas.
Victor Frankenstein's creation has been molded into a big zombie–like monster. Society has changed
the monster's appearance and emotions and for the sake of what?
Body Paragraph 1:
Mary Shelley's physical description of Frankenstein has been altered by society to match a more

These changes have stripped the idea of the monster having any human–like physical qualities. The
alterations have created an even uglier and foul creature.
Body Paragraph 2:
Besides just altering Frankenstein's Monster's physical appearance, society has changed Shelley's
depiction of his intellect and mental ability drastically.
Mary Shelley's describes Frankenstein's monster as equal intellectually developed as a human
being. He is emotional and psychological advanced. He can speak and read English as well as some
other languages.
These details and characteristics are very very human–like in nature. He is psychologically equal if
not more advanced than an average human being.
"Everywhere I see bliss, from which I alone am irrevocably excluded. I was benevolent and good;
misery made me fiend." p.87
The monster was once good. He has the mental capacity to feel lonely enough to change into the
monster he is currently portrayed to be.
Today's society has completely stripped the monster of all of his mental capabilities.
The monster was once portrayed and a very intelligent and emotional creature with exact human
psychology.
"Unlike so many of his on–screen interpretations, the Creature of the novel is eloquent, thoughtful,
and – at least at first – inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Later, he uses his gift for language
to articulate his anguish, telling Frankenstein, 'I am content to reason with you. I am malicious
because I am miserable. Am I not

Outline Of A Thesis Statement
Thesis / Claim Station:
Your claim or thesis statement is the most important part of your argumentative essay. It is the
sentence where you state your main argument and outline how you will prove it. There are many
ways to structure a thesis statement, but we will work on one specific model: counter–claim–reasons
(CCR). Here is an example:
Although surveillance cameras may be expensive, schools should install them because they increase
safety, reduce vandalism, and keep both teachers and students accountable for their actions.
The first part of this claim is the counter, where you recognize the opposing side's most important
counter–argument:

Elements Of An Outline
1. What is an OUTLINE?
An outline is an organizational tool used by writers to gather thoughts so that they can be clearly
laid out in an essay or book. Many writers feel that creating an outline is the key to effective
writing, and it certainly makes the writing process more efficient and focused. By creating an
outline for a piece of writing, the author ensures that all the pieces of the puzzle are presented in a
logical, clear order, and that they flow well, drawing the reader to a logical conclusion. An outline
can also be used to identify and eliminate potential areas of weakness or lack of focus in a paper.
Although an outline is rarely required for a piece of writing, it can be extremely helpful. Papers
which are written with the...show more content...
A thesis is stated plainly and early in a nonfiction work, while a theme is an idea or message that
you get once you 've read the book and you 've taken some time to reflect on its meaning. The
main idea, or thesis, should give your readers a clear and specific idea of your topic. The main idea
can be thought of as a one or two sentence summary of the whole writing project.
5. What is an Action Research? Action research is known by many other names, including
participatory research, collaborative inquiry, emancipatory research, action learning, and contextual
action research, but all are variations on a theme. Put simply, action research is "learning by doing" –
a group of people identify a problem, do something to resolve it, see how successful their efforts
were, and if not satisfied, try again. While this is the essence of the approach, there are other key
attributes of action research that differentiate it from common problem–solving activities that we all
engage in every day. A more succinct definition is that an action research aims to contribute both to
the practical concerns of people in an immediate problematic situation and to further the goals of
social science simultaneously. Thus, there is a dual commitment in action research to study a system
and concurrently to

Have you ever wondered what really causes depression? Or how people are even depressed and
not just sad? The reason I chose this topic is because I have depression. Not only that but I only
know a limited amount of this disorder, and also considering the fact that depression runs along
side both of my mom's and dad's side of the family. My curiosity grows as I wonder, what does this
really mean? Why was i diagnosed with depression? Is depression permanent or can it be cured?
How? Where does depression come from? On this journey as i take you into the world of mental

Major life stressors, chronic illness, medications, and relationship or work problems may cause
Dysthymia. Now that you know a little bit more about Dysthymia, you are probably wondering,
what are some of the symptoms? Some of the symptoms of Dysthymia are: sadness or depressed
mood most of the day or almost everyday, loss of enjoyment of things that were once pleasurable,
major change in weight ( weight loss or gaining weight), insomnia or excessive sleep throughout the
day, Fatigue, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness or guilt almost everyday, thoughts about
death or suicide. Now that you know some of the symptoms of Dysthymia, you might wonder, How
are you diagnosed with it? A mental health specialist or a psychologist, generally makes the
diagnosis based on the symptoms of the person. There is no blood, x–ray, or any other lab test that
can find out if you have Dysthymia. Now that that's clear, the final question is... Is it curable!?
Although Dysthymia is a severe illness; it is also very treatable. As with any chronic illnesses,
early diagnosis and medical treatment may reduce the intensity and duration of symptoms, and
also reduce the likelihood of it developing into major depression. To treat Dysthymia doctors may
use psychotherapy, more commonly known as, seeing a therapist, along with taking
antidepressants. Dysthymia can be treated by a primary care physician. Now, last but not least is
"Genetic Depression". It has been known that depressive illness can run in families. Genes that
we inherit from our parents can determine lots of things such as gender, hair and eye color. Our
genes also determine which illnesses we may be vulnerable to at some point in our lives. Every
cell in our body contains around 50,000 to 100,000 genes. They are all made up of DNA (
deoxyribonucleic acid). Genes are located on chromosomes within the nucleus of

Outline And Outline Of A Thesis Essay
1.Thesis: I think your thesis is strong and obvious throughout your paper. So I don't think that will
be something you need to change dramatically. Instead, I think the main thing you should focus on
for Draft 2 is organizing your paper so it is all supporting information for your thesis. In both your
background and analysis section, ask yourself whether the information is there to support your thesis
or whether it a secondary point. If it is a secondary point, then I probably wouldn't include it.
2.Organization: I would encourage you to try and increase your use of both umbrella paragraphs and
topic/thesis sentences. Generally, at the beginning of each section or subsection, you should have an
umbrella/roadmap paragraph to explain what is to come. That way a reader really understanding
where you are going and how things fit together. Same with topic/thesis sentences. From a structural
point of view, your background may end up being a bit long. Youwant your background to be shorter

is only related to your thesis.

Without this layer of gases the Earth would be too cold to be inhabited, perhaps 20 degrees cooler
than now. But, then amount of gases in this layer must remain constant. Even a slight increase could
have drastic results. Many people believe that a one degree increase in the temperature will not
cause much harm. The truth is with every degree of increase in temperature a 100 more wildlife
species are put in danger of extinction. Numerous experiments and studies prove that an increased
level of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide, is causing climate change and causing it fast.
2) Human Activities
A) Burning of fossil fuels–This is the most prominent and deadly source of climate change. Burning
of fossil fuels can release greenhouse gases ranging from carbon dioxide to ammonia. With massive
industrialization currently going on, the amount of fossil fuels burned is increasing. Transport and
heating are also major energy sources. Almost 7 giga tonnes of Carbon dioxide is emitted per year.
In the U.K three–fourths of energy produced comes from fossil fuels. Mineral fuels like petroleum
and coal are major sources of energy. In the last 150 years more than 45 Billion tonnes of carbon

It has been a story told through decades, each story a little different. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is the original story of Frankenstein's monster. She wrote the story of Victor Frankenstein and his creation. Through decades of this story being told, society has stripped away Shelley's original description of the monster and created an entirely new set of ideas. These changes have stripped the idea of the monster having any human–like physical qualities. The alterations have created an even uglier and foul creature. Body Paragraph 2: Besides just altering Frankenstein's Monster's physical appearance, society has changed Shelley's depiction of his intellect and mental ability drastically. Mary Shelley's describes Frankenstein's monster as equal intellectually developed as a human being. He is emotional and psychological advanced. He is psychologically equal if not more advanced than an average human being. "Everywhere I see bliss, from which I alone am irrevocably excluded. I was benevolent and good; misery made me fiend." p.87 The monster was once good. He has the mental capacity to feel lonely enough to change into the monster he is currently portrayed to be. Today's society has completely stripped the monster of all of his mental capabilities. The monster was once portrayed and a very intelligent and emotional creature with exact human psychology. "Unlike so many of his on–screen interpretations, the Creature of the novel is eloquent, thoughtful, and – at least at first – inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Later, he uses his gift for language to articulate his anguish, telling Frankenstein, 'I am content to reason with you. I am malicious because I am miserable. Now that you know a little bit more about Dysthymia, you are probably wondering, what are some of the symptoms? Some of the symptoms of Dysthymia are: sadness or depressed mood most of the day or almost everyday, loss of enjoyment of things that were once pleasurable, major change in weight ( weight loss or gaining weight), insomnia or excessive sleep throughout the day, Fatigue, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness or guilt almost everyday, thoughts about death or suicide. Now that you know some of the symptoms of Dysthymia, you might wonder, How are you diagnosed with it? A mental health specialist or a psychologist, generally makes the diagnosis based on the symptoms of the person. There is no blood, x–ray, or any other lab test that can find out if you have Dysthymia. Now that that's clear, the final question is... Is it curable!? Although Dysthymia is a severe illness; it is also very treatable. As with any chronic illnesses, early diagnosis and medical treatment may reduce the intensity and duration of symptoms, and also reduce the likelihood of it developing into major depression. To treat Dysthymia doctors may use psychotherapy, more commonly known as, seeing a therapist, along with taking antidepressants. Dysthymia can be treated by a primary care physician. Now, last but not least is "Genetic Depression". It has been known that depressive illness can run in families. Genes that we inherit from our parents can determine lots of things such as gender, hair and eye color. Our genes also determine which illnesses we may be vulnerable to at some point in our lives. Every cell in our body contains around 50,000 to 100,000 genes. They are all made up of DNA ( deoxyribonucleic acid). • 17. Outline And Outline Of A Thesis Essay 1.Thesis: I think your thesis is strong and obvious throughout your paper. So I don't think that will be something you need to change dramatically. Instead, I think the main thing you should focus on for Draft 2 is organizing your paper so it is all supporting information for your thesis. In both your background and analysis section, ask yourself whether the information is there to support your thesis or whether it a secondary point. If it is a secondary point, then I probably wouldn't include it. 2.Organization: I would encourage you to try and increase your use of both umbrella paragraphs and topic/thesis sentences. Generally, at the beginning of each section or subsection, you should have an umbrella/roadmap paragraph to explain what is to come. That way a reader really understanding where you are going and how things fit together. Same with topic/thesis sentences. From a structural point of view, your background may end up being a bit long. Youwant your background to be shorter than your analysis section. At your current fourteen pages, you may want to watch out for the background section overshadowing the analysis section. I think there is some room to cut, but you are going to have to figure out what it ends up being important to your thesis, and what is noise that is only related to your thesis. 3.Background: I think you are off to a good start with your background section. I would consider providing more organization or context for the section on the PLCAA. As Get more content on HelpWriting.net
