Declaration Of Sentiment Analysis
In 1848, Elizabeth Stanton and Lucretia Mott organized a women's rights convention. The
convention was held to address the social, civil, and religious condition and rights of women. The
first day meeting began with women exclusively invited, the second day was held for the public
which included men. Elizabeth wrote the Declaration of Sentiments which is a disquisition about
women's right and their role in society. In the SENECA FALLS WOMEN'S RIGHTS
CONVENTION, the author emphasizes the importance of women's participation in leadership roles
in society. By mimicking the Declaration of Independence Stanton was able to speak amongst many
who were concerned about equality with men before the law, in education, and employment. During
the 18th century, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Men had more rights in governmental affairs such as owning property, attending institutions, and
voting. However, women did not have a voice about political and social economical issues. The
Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal ;however women are discounted.
In the treatise she states, "The history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on
the part of man toward woman, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over
her. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world." This specific line portrays women as
objects of mistreatment and women will therefore put an end to it. The Declaration of Sentiments
also addresses the religious conditions and rights of women by stating,"He has usurped the
prerogative of Jehovah himself, claiming it as his right to assign for her a sphere of action, when that
belongs to her conscience and to her God" meaning that he is telling her what to do which only God
should be her only leader. However, not only did this create issues for women, but also an argument
sprawled between African American men voters and women. It was argued that women should have
the right to vote over African American men

This article investigated some of the fundamental research issues inside of the field of sentiment
analysis and examined several algorithms that intend to understand each of these issues. It has also
portrayed a percentage of the major applications of sentiment analysis and gave a couple significant
open difficulties. Numerous commercial sentiment analysis systems still utilize oversimplified
systems so as to maintain a strategic distance from these open difficulties also, subsequently their
execution takes off a ton to be sought. Giving satisfactory answers for these difficulties will make
the region of sentiment analysis significantly more widespread across the board. Sentiment analysis
(or Opinion mining) is characterized as the errand of finding the opinions of creators about
particular elements. The choice making procedure of individuals is influenced by the conclusions
shaped by thought leaders and ordinary individuals. At the point when someone needs to purchase
an item online he or she will commonly begin by hunting down surveys and opinions composed by
other individuals on the different offerings. Sentiment analysis is one of the most sizzling research
regions in computer science. With NLP, while handling the configuration of cognitive systems, a
noteworthy zone of work goes for empowering machines to prepare both composed and spoken

Declaration Of Sentiments Analysis
The "Declaration of Sentiments" authored by Elizabeth Cady Stanton from the Seneca Falls
Convention is a document that insists in written form that the government should allow women to
practice their rights. Back then, women were not allowed to vote or use their voice but, now during
the times "The Awakening" was written by Kate Chopin, women had more privileges and rebellious
attitude. The main character, Edna Pontellier has more freedom and self–rule than any other woman
back in 1848.
The purpose of the "Declaration of Sentiments" is that to release the oppression from the
government giving to women, to state that men and women are created equal. The document stated
that "In the covenant of marriage, she is compelled to promise obedience to her husband, he
becoming, to all intents and purposes, her master–the law giving him power to deprive her of her
liberty, and to administer chastisement."(Stanton.9) Explaining that no matter what, the woman is
seen as an object in the eyes of the court, not as a human, treated as property. Women were
submissive and were deprived of education. The women had only one thing to do, ... Show more

The author stated, "He reproached his wife with her inattention, her habitual neglect of the
children." (Stanton.9) Demonstrating that even though Edna is ignoring her children's needs, his
children, Leonce will never hit her as for punishment. Showcasing that she gets to use her voice, she
gets to get away with not being the proper mother as women were once before. She is allowed to
have a friendship with another man and not be seen as a scandalous woman in the society. She has
more freedom than the previous woman had, sunbathing with her dear Robert. Since she is a Creole,
who is not oppressed by cultural norms, her husband does not see that as a threat but that does not
mean he stops seeing her as an object like others men

The Field Of Information Retrieval And Web Analysis
ABSTRACT
Opinions play a crucial role in the decision making process. Analysis in the field of making
decisions and setting policies has shown that sentiment analysis and Opinion mining has become
increasingly important in the field of Information Retrieval and Web analysis. In the past years, the
growth of user generated data in web forums, social networking sites and other social platforms is
tremendous, which diverts our study towards mining the opinions on web. In this paper, we have
presented a novel methodology to classify the tweets and the complete opinion mining system is
explained on the basis of survey and analysis. A flowchart has been proposed in which the overall
picture of classification of twitter data has been proposed and accuracy of the evaluation strategies
by various supervised learning algorithms has been evaluated. Review data is collected for various
product domains from micro blogging sites like twitter, face book.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Declaration of Sentiments and The Women's Bible
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was one of the most renowned women to lead campaigns for women's
rights. Her efforts were focused on "opportunities for women, for married women's property rights,
the right to divorce, and the right to custody of children; her most radical demand was for women's
right to vote" (Davidson and Wagner–Martin 845). In general Stanton wished to instill independence
and self–reliance in all women. Stanton was an inspiring orator of speeches including the
Declaration of Sentiments as well as the book The Women's Bible. Upon analysis of her speeches
and other works, as well as gaining knowledge of her background, one is able to assume that ...

Much of her knowledge was gained by time spent in her fatherâs office reading law books and
listening to his conversations with clients. Stanton refused to allow societyâs constraints to limit her
ability to excel as mush or more than a young man does. In taking on this conviction, she later in life
attempted to have changes made to allow women to attend the same schools (colleges) that men
attended.
In the experiences Stanton witnessed between clients and Mr. Cady, one particular incident farther
provoked Stanton to seek rights for women. In this certain case an ex servant of the family was
attempting to regain property that she had purchased before her marriage. Apparently her deceased
husband had will the property to his son and the woman was left with nothing. Mr. Cady informed
the lady that even though she had purchased the property before wedding, that according to the laws
concerning wedlock, all property, earnings, and children were relinquished to the husband. Elizabeth
could not believe that the laws were so unjust and that there was nothing her father could do to help
the woman regain what was rightfully hers. Being a small child at the time, Stanton told the client
that she would search through every law book and cut out any laws that

Abstract– Nowadays medical data has been search by people for gathering the more and more
information about drugs. The dialog discussions on chronic diseases and drug, as well as online
audits and sites are getting to be more important assets for patients. Patients read online reviews,
blogs and discussion forum ideas to get information from other patients with similar condition.
Reviews of medication from patients are largely available on the internet. Partitioning data from
these significant collections of writings is helpful in testing. Extracting these huge medical data is
challenging. In this survey paper, various research frameworks in drugs reviews are analyzed as well

Factors That Affect The Combined Analysis Of Sa And Iud
In this section, we present a four–step methodology to quantify distinct factors that affect the
combined analysis of SA and IUD in real domains, as well as the potential benefits of this type of
analysis. Basically, the proposed methodology takes into account the domain 's temporal dynamics,
the sampling sensitivity of the methods and the observed reciprocity between the collective opinion
and opinions propagated by opinion–leaders. Through this methodology, we intend to quantify some
important issues related to combine SA and IUD. We are not assuming a closed and complete
assessment on all existing issues, which comprise promising research directions for the

First, we derive the collective opinion $O$ of a whole data sample $D$, using a SA method existing
in the literature. Specifically, we adopt in this work the method SACI cite{jws2015}. SACI is
relevant to our goal since it was originally proposed for estimating efficiently collective sentiment
on data samples, instead of aggregating the sentiment derived for each individual document. Further,
the authors demonstrated that SACI is more effective in estimating the collective opinion than
aggregation–based SA methods. SACI represents $O$ as a distribution probability among the
sentiment classes positive, negative and neutral. Thus, we split $D$ into time units of equal size
(e.g., days, weeks, months). Then, we estimate the collective opinion $O_t$ using only the posts
belonging to each distinct time unit $t$. Finally, we perform a visual inspection on the derived
distributions. The more dynamic a domain, the more different are opinions estimated on distinct
time units.looseness=–1
In turn, we measure drifts on the subset of opinion–leaders over time as follows. First, we identify
the ordered list $L$ of top–k opinion–leaders on $D$ by using an IUD method. Specifically, we use
the presented in cite{iccs2015}, a meta–learning strategy based on PCA that combines linearly
orthogonal information exploited by distinct state–of–the–art IUD methods. We will call this method
as PCA–IUD. We chose PCA–IUD since it combines

Sentiment Analysis In A Movie Review
Abstract – While sentiment analysis provides fantastic insights and has a wide range of real–world
applications, the overall sentiment of a piece of text won't always pinpoint the root cause of an
author's opinion. Certain types of documents, such as movie reviews, may contain fine–grained
sentiment about different aspects about the service that are mentioned in text. A review about a
movie may contain opinionated sentences about its story, cast and direction. This information can
help users understand the positive and negative parts of a movie. Aspect–based sentiment analysis
makes it easier to identify and determine the sentiment towards specific aspects in text. To identify
different aspects of a movie, the application needs to determine the context of a particular sentence
or group of sentences in the movie review. These contextual groupings can then be mapped to
various aspects of a movie, hence enabling us to score aspects based on their sentiment.

The Methods For Sentiment Analysis
III. APPROACHES OF SENTIMENT
ANALYSIS.
Sentiment analysis consists of various elements out of which lexicons are an integral part. These
lexicons are nothing but the words which make up a sentence. These lexicons can also be known as
sentiment lexicon or opinion lexicons. It is important that we classify the lexicons we have into
positives or negatives in order to achieve review analysis. One of the methods for sentiment analysis
and classification is done on the basis of these lexicons. There are two broad approaches for
sentiment analysis. These are lexicon based approaches and machine learning based approaches.
These approaches are further divided into different methods as shown in the figure given below.
Fig. 2 Sentiment analysis flow
Let us consider each approach in more detail.
A) Machine Learning Approaches
Machine learning methods include the concepts from soft computing field. These methods are
classified as supervised and unsupervised methods. The supervised methods can either be
probabilistic classifiers else it can be linear classifiers. Probabilistic classifiers include algorithms
which use probability to find the classification and then separate the lexicons based on probabilistic
calculations. In this approach we use data driven methods, which include the following algorithms.
a. Naïve Baye's Classifier: This algorithm includes the use of Baye's theorem for determining the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Opinion Mining
The work of a complete review or opinion mining application might involve attacking each of the
following problems. If the application is integrated into a general–purpose search engine, then one
would need to determine whether the user is in fact looking for subjective material. This may or may
not be a difficult problem in and of it: perhaps queries of this type will tend to contain indicator
terms like "review", "reviews", or "opinions", or perhaps the application would provide a
"checkbox" to the user so that he or she could indicate directly that reviews are what are desired.
Besides the still–open problem of determining which documents are topically relevant to an
opinion–oriented query, an additional challenge we face in our new setting ... Show more content on

Data Collection: In this phase, it is important to get the item of interest, that is, what we actually
want to know the opinion about. It is also very important to remove all facts that don't express any
opinions like news and objective phrases. Here the main focus is on the user's relevant opinions. ii.
Pre–processing: The pre–processing is also very important phase in order to remove stop words or
irrelevant words from the user's opinions. Our processing system deals only the description part of
each review, here processing means splitting review into sentences to create a plain text file of
reviews. iii. Classification and part of Speech Tagging (POS): The polarity(+ve or –ve) of the
content that must be identified. Normally, the polarities are positive, negative or neutral. POS is a
mechanism by which tokens are sequentially labeled with syntactic labels, such as "Verb" or "Noun"
or "Adjective". Not all the words in review sentences are sensibly useful for recognize product
features and orientations of the discussed product. As Hu and Liu recommend, nouns and noun
phrases in the sentences are most likely to be the features that customers comment on, while
adjectives are frequently used to express their opinions and

Abstract
Purpose – Due to their high popularity, Weblogs and other social media sites provide a wealth of
information that can be very helpful in evaluating the customers' sentiments and opinions. It is
therefore imperative to analyze them and filter out useful information that could be of economic
values to vendors and other interested parties. The purpose of this paper is to examine and analyze
online customer reviews about the products and thereby predicting the sales of the products.
Design/methodology/approach – This paper employs a sentiment analysis approach by extracting
online customer reviews from twitter using twitter API. The extracted reviews have been classified
as negative, positive and neutral based on their sentiment polarity and a conceptual model is
developed to analyse the customers purchase intentions.
Findings – The online customer reviews, both positive and negative, can affect the customers'
opinion about the product. Purchase intentions of the customer after reading the product reviews
depends on the factors like customer's attitude towards the brand and consumer–based brand equity.
While consumer–based brand equity and customer's attitude are directly affected by customer's

Sentiment Analysis : The Language Processing
Sentiment Analysis Social opinion has been analysed using sentiment analysis (SA). This is
basically a natural language processing (NLP) application that uses computational linguistics and
text mining to identify text sentiments as positive, negative and neutral. This technique is known as
emotional polarity analysis which is related to text mining field, opinion mining and review mining.
In addition, to calculate sentiment score, the sentiment acquired from the text is compared to a
dictionary in order to determine the strength of that sentiment. Studies on sentiment analysis focus
on text written in English such as sentiment lexicons while applying this to other languages will
cause domain adaptation problem [12]. Traditional text classification is different from sentiment
classification. Traditional text classification refers to pre–defined class to determine a document's
category, and it gauges the theme of the text itself, while the main aim of the latter is to determine
the attitudes and opinion through mining and analysing user interest or other subjective information
[13]. Studies in sentiment analysis have found that pre–processing the data is the procedure of
cleaning and adapting. Data mining discovery is applied to identify patterns in data. Likewise, text
mining looks for patterns in text. Text mining can work and analyse the unstructured data such as
PDF files, emails and XML files [14]. Many researchers have argued that the use of classifiers in

product is composed of three parts, namely:
Different features of the products that the customers have expressed their opinion,

The system crawls all the information (customer reviews) from the particular product and starts to
extract the feature words. The mining classification is divided into three subtasks. First, POS
tagging, most product feature in reviews contain nouns and phrases. POS enables to identify these
tags words by word. The authors have used NLProcessor linguistic parser to split the sentences and
produce POS tag for every individual word. Some pre–processing is performed to remove stop
words to avoid big POS tag lists. Fuzzy matching was also used to deal with misspelling and word
variants. Second, identifying frequent features, features that are particularly used by customers in
many reviews. To put in context, words, or sentences that occur together in many reviews. The
authors use association mining to list out these words. An apriori algorithm based association miner
is used to identify these features/words. The gathered features cannot possibly be genuine product
features. Pruning enables to remove the unwanted features/words that don't match to product
opinion or feature. The author uses two pruning methods and compares their efficiency. While using
compactness pruning, it looks for features that is composed of two or more words and identifies if

The Sentiment Analysis Review
Abstract– Sentiment analysis is the computational study of opinions, sentiments, subjectivity,
evaluations, attitudes, views and emotions expressed in text. Sentiment analysis is mainly used to
classify the reviews as positive or negative or neutral with respect to a query term. This is useful for
consumers who want to analyse the sentiment of products before purchase, or viewers who want to
know the public sentiment about a new released movie. Here I present the results of machine
learning algorithms for classifying the sentiment of movie reviews which uses a chi–squared feature
selection mechanism for training. I show that machine learning algorithms such as Naive Bayes and
Maximum Entropy can achieve competitive accuracy when trained using features and the publicly
available dataset. It analyse accuracy, precision and recall of machine learning classification
mechanisms with chi–squared feature selection technique and plot the relationship between number

Feature Selection
The next step in the sentiment analysis is to extract and select text features. Here feature selection
technique treat the documents as group of words (Bag of Words (BOWs)) which ignores the position
of the word in the document. Here feature selection method used is Chi–square (x2).
A chi–square test also referred to as a statistical hypothesis test in which the sampling distribution of
the test statistic is a chi–square distribution when the null hypothesis is true. The chi–square test is
used to determine whether there is a significant difference between the expected frequencies and the
observed frequencies in one or more categories.
Assume n be the total number of documents in the collection, pi(w) be the conditional probability of
class i for documents which contain w, Pi be the global fraction of documents containing the class i,
and F(w) be the global fraction of documents which contain the word w. Then, the x2–statistic of the

The second phase includes polarity classification in which corpus is classified into positive,
negative, both or neutral using 10 different features and 2 simple classifiers. Neutral–polar
classification and polarity classification achieved an average accuracy of 75.9% and 65.7%.
Besides understanding the effects of twitter data and sentiment analysis, a large group of researchers
is attracted towards various types of predictions and their applications in various fields. Andrei
Oghina [28] predicted Internet Movie Database (IMDB) ratings by information retrieval from social
media. They hypothesized that the correlation can be found between the IMDB ratings and social
media signals related to movie artifacts (e.g. movie title) . In 2010, Andranik et. al. [29 ] analyzed
tweets which mentioned political parties and politician during German election 2009 and found that
large number of tweets reflects voter preferences. Also, there are researches speculating the fact that
Twitter can be used in areas like real–time event detection like earthquakes [30], tracking the spread
of diseases [31].
There is also prior work in finding the correlations between social media and stock market. In 2010,
Gilbert and Karahalios [32] estimated anxiety and fear from a dataset of over 20 million posts from
LiveJournal site. They calculated an index of US national mood known as the Anxiety Index.

1.3 Techniques for Opinion Mining
Opinion mining (also known as sentiment analysis) focuses mainly on two things, first identifying
whether the text is subjective or objective and then determining the polarity of the subject [3].
Opinion words in the text mostly contribute towards the subjectivity of the text. These opinion
words together inform about the emotional context of the text. Objective words contribute towards
the factual construct of the text. There are three most common approaches used for determining the
sentimental content of a text
¬ Lexical Analysis
This is basically a dictionary approach. The text under analysis is converted into tokens. Each token
is then matched with the dictionary. If the match is positive, it increments the total score of the text
so far, else there is a decrement in the text score if there is a negative match. For example, the word
'beautiful' will increment the total score since it is a positive match. It is a basic but very efficient
technique. One major drawback of this approach is that its accuracy and efficiency degrades
drastically with the growth of the size of the dictionary

form our law system to what it is today. Since the Declaration of Independence we have been able to

gender equality has progressed significantly. Examining American history, it is evident to notice
oppression women's faced from the time prior to the Declaration of Sentiments in 1848 to the Civil

Then we set the custom date range from April 10th, 2012 to June 15th, 2012. There were 621
mentions. People mentioned One Day Without Shoes mostly on the event date and then it began to
decrease and stopped within a week. There were 88% positive and 12% negative comments. Some
people thought it was nasty and gross to go without shoes in crowded or public areas, but the
majority thought that it supported a good cause and were willing as well as excited to join the
campaign. Many people shared their good experience of being barefoot on that day, which is what
we expected. However, similar to the analysis of the pre event date, the number of mentions quite
still pretty small. Most of the stream came from twitter.
We recommend Toms improve their campaign. Not entirely change the campaign but make a minor
change in order to make it more exciting and so that it is not exactly the same every year. We think
that this will help boost participation and therefore awareness of the brands mission. One way Toms
could accomplish this is by arranging a video competition, which would ask people to make their
own video doing their daily activities barefoot. They would then be asked to post the videos on
Toms Facebook. Whomevers video got the most 'likes' would win a reward or prize. Perhaps even a
trip to one of the countries where Toms gives there shoes away so that the dedicated customer could
help deliver the shoes and experience first–hand how impactful

Declaration Of Sentiments Analysis
Like any major changes that happen within a society, there are usually people who have fought long
and hard, or perhaps, have held powerful positions which enabled them to facilitate change. There
were many women in history who were brave enough to speak against their religion and offer new
teachings, women who were bold enough to bear arms, women in power who used their voice to
speak against sexisism, and a woman who understood what it meant to live in two cultures and
plainly prefer one over the other. Anne Hutchinson was a puritan living in the mid 1600s and left
England to lead a new life in America (Kendall 14). She thought she would have more freedom in
America, but she soon discovered that religious freedom did not exist. Although ... Show more

Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton met at a temperance meeting and were both appalled at the
fact that they were not allowed to speak (Rossi 11). Stanton convinced Anthony to join her in the
women's rights movement. Stanton needed someone to deliver her speeches because she was
encouraged to spend more time at home with her family. "Stanton had a large family so she had little
time to travel and lecture," (Kendall 41). Stanton wanted to share her own ideas with other people,
but her father and husband didn't approve of her sharing any speeches or writings in public. This
was similar to a situation the Grimke Sisters were in when people didn't appreciate and approve of
the fact that they were speaking their ideas out in the public (Deverell and White). Anthony Anthony
had lots of spare time because she didn't have a family, therefore, she could dedicate her spare time
to helping the cause. Anthony and Stanton started a partnership together and ended up working with
one another for about fifty years (Rossi 11). After helping with Stanton's public speeches, the two
women continued working together to bring awareness to women's rights. Stanton and Anthony
wrote an article together on divorces and how they hated males. This was especially a big shocker to
people back in the 1800s (Rossi 15). Together, Stanton and Anthony started the NWSA, or the

The Declaration Of Sentiments And Resolutions
Feminism in the United States:
The Declaration of Sentiments
Kyron Brown
History 2010 – W9
Professor Pennig
November 26, 2014 Introduction
In the year 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton conveyed to the audience of the Seneca Falls Convention
the Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions . The Declaration of Sentiments was written with the
purpose of demanding civil freedom for women and of righting the wrongs of society. The
Declaration included events where women's rights were being oppressed and violated and where
laws were giving special treatment to men. It also included the resolutions they demanded on these
particular cases.
In addition, the Declaration was written due to the fact that women in all parts of the globe were
being oppressed for many years. The women in many countries, just like in the United States of
America, were given a limited set of rights in the society compared to their male counterparts. One
great example of this was the women's suffrage in the United States, which was not inherently given
to them until its national enactment in the year 1920.
Analysis
The document was specifically written for women and the events that revolved around their poor
conditions in the past. It was also evident that one of its objectives was to promote and endorse
feminism. This was due to the fact that women in America were being oppressed up until the mid–
20th century. As Martha C. Wright indicated, the American women at the time, specifically the
wives,

REVIEW Syed akib anwar et al. [1] proposed that Public sentiments are the main things to be
noticed for collecting the feedback of the product. It can be done by using sentiment analysis. The
twitter is the social media used in this paper for collecting the reviews about any product. The
reviews collected are analyzed based on the locations, features and gender. There are four steps
involved in the paper: Data extraction which involves collecting the twitter data, data processing
involves filtering out the redundant tweets and non grammatical relations, implementation involving
the product analysis using sentiment score and result involves comparison between gender, feature
and locations. Xing Fang et al. [2] discusses that Sentiment analysis is a technique used for
categorization of the product based on the reviews of the user. The categories of the product are
good, bad or neutral. In this paper, the general problem of the sentiment polarity categorization has
been resolved. The sentiment polarity categorization consists of two phases: sentence level
categorization and review level categorization. The sentence

A Representation Of Opinion Is Given Below
A diagrammatic representation of opinion is given below. Fig.1 Opinion mining basic flow
Opinion mining has three basic terminologies on which it can be processed. These are,
a. Object: that is the entity or commodity regarding which opinion has to be given.
b. Opinion holder: the one who gives the opinion, also known as the author.
c. Opinion: the particular statement or the corresponding opinion which is expressed by the opinion
holder or the author.
Opinion mathematically can be expressed as follows:
Opinion is a quintuple(Oj, fjk, hi, tl, SOijkl) where,
Oj¬ is the object which is to be opinionated.
F¬jk¬ is the kth feature of jth object which is opinionated. h¬i¬ is the ith opinion holder.
SO¬ijkl¬ is the sentiment for the jth object's kth feature, by ith opinion holder, at time l. tl is the
time at which the opinion is created.
Example: a certain person has to comment on a book. Then in this case the person is the opinion
holder, the book the object and "this is a good book" is the opinion.
II. BASICS OF OPINIONS AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS
Opinions can be of varied types consisting of direct simple sentences as well as compound
sentences. These sentences can include views upfront or via comparisons. Example
"Audi A6 is better than Maruti Suzuki Alto". Here two entities are compared. Also there are
reviewers who like to talk in sarcasm and hence make it extremely complicated to analyze the
hidden or the true meaning of

Research Report On The Boston Police Department
7. Ongoing Research Work Introduction The second part of the research is focused on studying the
emotions and sentiments expressed by people who retweeted the Boston Police Department (BPD)
tweets. The goal of this phase was to observe the sentiment among the users who were retweeting
the BPD tweets. We wanted to observe the impact of BPD tweets on the users before they retweeted
the BPD tweet and after they retweeted. By doing this we wanted to capture the shift in sentiment
among the users, which would give us the impact of BPD tweet. In order to do the above analysis,
the tweets of those users who had retweeted the BPD tweet were collected. Topsy API was used to
collect the historical tweets for the time duration (April 15th 2013 19:50 ... Show more content on

The next step was to observe the sentiment among the users, before and after they had retweeted.
We aggregated the 'before' set for all users corresponding to a particular tweet and generated a set of
145 files. Similarly we generated a set of 145 files for 'After' set as well. Then we used LIWC to
generate the sentiment score for files corresponding to each BPD tweet. Thus for each of the 145
BPD Tweet, we generated sentiment score of 'before' and 'after', and so we have 290 rows of data as
an output by LIWC. When we request Topsy for 200 retweeters of a particular BPD Tweet, we got a
random sample of 200 retweeters. For some of these users, the retweets were outside our time
interval of consideration. Therefore the number of users considered is not the same across all BPD
tweets, it is always a number less than 200. Therefore we added 2 new columns for analysis, the
number of users considered and the total number of tweets considered. Later we divided the BPD
tweets into two segments 1. Incident related (The tweets by BPD which spoke about the incident
and things related to it) 2. Informational (The tweets by BPD which were sent out to public about
the road being blocked or about parking related etc.). The reason for dividing into 2 segments was to
further observe the difference of impact on users by these tweets, with the help of sentiment scores

Businesses seek consumer opinions about their products and services to improvise them, consumers
seek opinions of other consumers to get the best deal. Governors and policy makers of the country
also need to consider opinions of the masses before making some decisions. Emergence of social

Sentiment Analysis : Customer Review Data
Sentiment Analysis of Customer Review Data
Sentiment analysis is the process of identification and extraction of subjective information from
unstructured data. Some of the common applications of sentiment analysis are, understanding the
voice of the customer, voice of the market, the voice of the employee, brand management, financial
markets, politics and government intelligence.
The objective of the sentiment analysis in the case of Suite Spot would be to increase customer
satisfaction based on the sentiment analysis of the customer review data and other available data
about the customer and reservation, available from Kayak. This is where a sentiment analysis can
offer much more value when compared to a traditional analysis on the customer review data. The
key to this is the availability of real–time data about the hotel from customers. In a connected world
where information is continuously flowing in the form of tweets, Facebook, and other social media
posts, getting real–time sentiment analysis data and acting on the data would help create a
competitive advantage for the Suite Spot chain of hotels.
First we have to keep track of all the customers who are currently staying in a Suite Spot hotel. As
soon as the customer checks in, his customer data is collected from Kayak. Kayak keep track of the
social media connections of a customer, like Google+ and Facebook accounts. After retrieving the
social media connections of the customers staying in a Suite Spot hotel,

causes them a big time loss.
Each business plans to build its deal breaking its past records. Furthermore, the best way to do it is
to draw in new clients as well as to keep up them after deals. An organization that prioritizes its
customers will always be referred. The primary purpose behind the decrease of offers in an
organization is its absence of duty to give appropriate administrations to its clients. An enlisted
grumbling is here and there which is sometimes not attended by the organization which prompts
expanded grievances among the shoppers prompting decrease in the sales. Sometimes the
organization is not ready to keep up the record of the administrations of a client which prompts a
more prominent perplexity in the association. Another issue related to less customer satisfaction is
the inability to solve the problem on time.

Declaration of Sentiments
Declaration of Sentiments
The Declarations of sentiments was arguably the most significant document in
history for the advancement of women in the nineteenth century America. It was made
famous at the first Woman's Rights Convention, held in Seneca Falls, New York, in July
of 1848. Drafted by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the declaration outlined a series of
grievances resulting from the unfair treatment of women and proposed eleven resolutions
arguing that women had the right to equality in all aspects of their lives, including the
right to vote. Despite the declarations significance, however, it would be seventy–two
years later that women finally won the right to vote.
In early societies, women bore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

protested unequal employment opportunities. Stanton read the declaration paragraph by
paragraph, and over the two–days of discussion, the Declaration of Sentiments and 12
resolutions received agreement endorsement, one by one, with a few amendments.
The only resolution that did not pass unanimously was the call for women's
authorization.
The Seneca Falls convention generated widespread ridicule and even hostility,
primarily from religious leaders and the press. An article in the Philadelphia Public
Ledger and Daily Transcript (September 1848) opined that, unlike the Seneca Falls
women, the women of Philadelphia were "celebrated for discretion, modesty, and
unfeigned diffidence" rather than "standing out for woman's rights." After all, the writer
reasoned, "A woman is nobody. A wife is everything. A pretty girl is equal to ten
thousand men, and a mother is, next to God, all powerful......The ladies of Philadelphia,

therefore.....are resolved to maintain their rights as wives, belles, virgins, and mothers,
and not as women" (Stanton, Anthony, and Gage, p. 804).

Civil War. Elizabeth Cady Stanton traveled the country lecturing and organizing for

great if you can share more about the project – you can come to one of project TAs' OH once we
reach week 3. The following notes is some open–ended questions/thinkings based on your post.
Please feel free to follow up. 1.causality v.s. correlation: The Aristotle explanation gives us a direct
casual relation between celestial bodies and emotions. I'm sure you does not buy this much. But it
could be a good question to ask: Whether the celestial events affect our emotions by changing the
dynamics of our body, by some social–economic events (e.g. An EMP that interrupts the production)
or by the myths or beliefs only. As you use the word correlation ... Show more content on

We have two data set: one is the celestial events and the other is some emotion index/crime index.
The final step of calculating correlation probably won't takes much (well, actually it could be really
serious if you are taking an econometrist's perspective). So I guess you will apply a lot of machine
learning skills for the sentiment analysis? I wonder if it is that necessary since a lot of works have
been done on this. You can check out this, a toolkit from Healey & Ramaswamy :

sounds like a more reliable data source for this problem (see the next note). I would suggest talking
with a TA to clarify the scope of this project is appropriate. 3.Google Trend Before starting the data
preparation, I would suggest using Google Trend to try out some patterns first. For example,
homicides in news: https://www.google.com/trends/explore?gprop=news&q=homicides. 4.Scale of

Research Paper On Sentiment Analysis
Abstract
Due to the large volume of opinion rich web resources like twitter, Face book, blogs and news
available in digital form, much of the current research is focusing on the area of sentiment analysis
using text analysis. People are getting attracted to develop a system that can extract opinions based
on their response on social media sites. Algorithms can be developed so as to predict preferences of
people to improve economic and marketing research. This paper presents a sentiment analysis on a
recent scenario of Uri Attack.

Sentiment analysis concentrates on attitudes, whereas the traditional method of text mining mainly
focuses on the analysis of facts. There are few main fields of research in Sentiment analysis:
sentiment classification, feature based sentiment classification and opinion summarization.
Sentiment classification deals with classifying entire document according to the opinions shown
with respect to a certain object. While feature–based sentiment classification considers the opinions
on the features of a certain object. Opinion summarization task is different compared to traditional
text summarization because only the features of the product are examined on which the customers
have expressed their opinions via any social media. Opinion summarization does not summarize the
reviews by selecting a subset or rewriting some of the original sentences from the reviews to capture
the main points like in the classic text summarization

Declaration Of Sentiments Rhetorical Analysis
The opening paragraph of Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Declaration of Sentiments, which narrates,
"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary...," (Stanton 1), along with the title
itself reveals a connection to Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence. Elizabeth Cady
Stanton wrote the declaration after being excluded from the World Anti–Slavery convention, much
like how the colonists were excluded from British Parliament. Declaration of Sentiments lists the
grievances of women, which is another similarly to Jefferson's Declaration of Independence where
he lists the grievances of the colonists. Stanton introduced her Declaration of Sentiments at the
Seneca Falls Convention, which further conveys similarity to Jefferson's Declaration of
Independence as his Declaration of Independence was introduced at the Second Continental
Congress. Stanton, modeling her Declaration of Sentiments after Jefferson's Declaration of
Independence, uses anaphora, the rhetorical triangle, allusions, personification, and harsh diction to
achieve her effect of inspiring change to the benefit of women in society, similar to how Thomas
Jefferson inspired change in the colonies through his Declaration of Independence. In order to
emphasize and organize her points about the grievances of women in Declaration of Sentiments,
Stanton uses anaphora in like manner to the way Jefferson uses it in Declaration of Independence. In
most of Stanton's paragraphs between lines 28 and 70 of her

A Machine Learning Approach For Emotions Classification
A machine learning approach for emotions classification in Micro blogs ABSTRACT Micro
blogging today has become a very popular communication tool among Internet users. Millions of
users share opinions on different aspects of life every day. Therefore micro blogging web–sites are
rich sources of data for opinion mining and sentiment analysis. Because micro blogging has
appeared relatively recently, there are a few research works that are devoted to this topic. In this
paper, we are focusing on using Twitter, which is an amazing microblogging tool and an
extraordinary communication medium for text and social web analyses. We will try to classify the
emotions in to 6 basic discrete emotional categories such as anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness and
surprise. Keywords : Emotion Analysis; Sentiment Analysis; Opinion Mining; Text Classification 1.

Abstract:
In a global economy, mining the opinion relations between opinion targets and opinion words was
the key to collective extraction. To this end, the most adopted techniques have been nearest–
neighbor rules and syntactic patterns. To improve the performance of these methods, we can
specially design exquisite, high–precision patterns. However, with an increase in corpus size, this
strategy is likely to miss more items and has lower recall. In this paper proposes a novel approach
based on the partially–supervised alignment model, which regards identifying opinion relations as
an alignment process. Compared to the traditional unsupervised alignment model, the proposed
model obtains better precision because of the usage of partial supervision. Compared to syntax–
based methods, our word alignment model effectively alleviates the negative effects of parsing
errors when dealing with informal online texts. The objective is to propose a method based on a
monolingual Word alignment model (WAM). An opinion target can find its corresponding modifier
through word alignment. In addition, the WAM can integrate

Declaration Of Sentiment Analysis

  • 1. Declaration Of Sentiment Analysis In 1848, Elizabeth Stanton and Lucretia Mott organized a women's rights convention. The convention was held to address the social, civil, and religious condition and rights of women. The first day meeting began with women exclusively invited, the second day was held for the public which included men. Elizabeth wrote the Declaration of Sentiments which is a disquisition about women's right and their role in society. In the SENECA FALLS WOMEN'S RIGHTS CONVENTION, the author emphasizes the importance of women's participation in leadership roles in society. By mimicking the Declaration of Independence Stanton was able to speak amongst many who were concerned about equality with men before the law, in education, and employment. During the 18th century, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Men had more rights in governmental affairs such as owning property, attending institutions, and voting. However, women did not have a voice about political and social economical issues. The Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal ;however women are discounted. In the treatise she states, "The history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part of man toward woman, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over her. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world." This specific line portrays women as objects of mistreatment and women will therefore put an end to it. The Declaration of Sentiments also addresses the religious conditions and rights of women by stating,"He has usurped the prerogative of Jehovah himself, claiming it as his right to assign for her a sphere of action, when that belongs to her conscience and to her God" meaning that he is telling her what to do which only God should be her only leader. However, not only did this create issues for women, but also an argument sprawled between African American men voters and women. It was argued that women should have the right to vote over African American men ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Questions On Cognitive Software Design Sentiment Analysis David Studdard January 8, 2016 Cognitive Software Design Dr. Steve South University This article investigated some of the fundamental research issues inside of the field of sentiment analysis and examined several algorithms that intend to understand each of these issues. It has also portrayed a percentage of the major applications of sentiment analysis and gave a couple significant open difficulties. Numerous commercial sentiment analysis systems still utilize oversimplified systems so as to maintain a strategic distance from these open difficulties also, subsequently their execution takes off a ton to be sought. Giving satisfactory answers for these difficulties will make the region of sentiment analysis significantly more widespread across the board. Sentiment analysis (or Opinion mining) is characterized as the errand of finding the opinions of creators about particular elements. The choice making procedure of individuals is influenced by the conclusions shaped by thought leaders and ordinary individuals. At the point when someone needs to purchase an item online he or she will commonly begin by hunting down surveys and opinions composed by other individuals on the different offerings. Sentiment analysis is one of the most sizzling research regions in computer science. • 5. Declaration Of Sentiments Analysis The "Declaration of Sentiments" authored by Elizabeth Cady Stanton from the Seneca Falls Convention is a document that insists in written form that the government should allow women to practice their rights. Back then, women were not allowed to vote or use their voice but, now during the times "The Awakening" was written by Kate Chopin, women had more privileges and rebellious attitude. The main character, Edna Pontellier has more freedom and self–rule than any other woman back in 1848. The purpose of the "Declaration of Sentiments" is that to release the oppression from the government giving to women, to state that men and women are created equal. The document stated that "In the covenant of marriage, she is compelled to promise obedience to her husband, he becoming, to all intents and purposes, her master–the law giving him power to deprive her of her liberty, and to administer chastisement."(Stanton.9) Explaining that no matter what, the woman is seen as an object in the eyes of the court, not as a human, treated as property. Women were submissive and were deprived of education. The women had only one thing to do, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author stated, "He reproached his wife with her inattention, her habitual neglect of the children." (Stanton.9) Demonstrating that even though Edna is ignoring her children's needs, his children, Leonce will never hit her as for punishment. Showcasing that she gets to use her voice, she gets to get away with not being the proper mother as women were once before. She is allowed to have a friendship with another man and not be seen as a scandalous woman in the society. She has more freedom than the previous woman had, sunbathing with her dear Robert. Since she is a Creole, who is not oppressed by cultural norms, her husband does not see that as a threat but that does not mean he stops seeing her as an object like others men ... • 9. Comparing Elizabeth Stanton’s Declaration of Sentiments... Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Declaration of Sentiments and The Women's Bible Elizabeth Cady Stanton was one of the most renowned women to lead campaigns for women's rights. Her efforts were focused on "opportunities for women, for married women's property rights, the right to divorce, and the right to custody of children; her most radical demand was for women's right to vote" (Davidson and Wagner–Martin 845). In general Stanton wished to instill independence and self–reliance in all women. Stanton was an inspiring orator of speeches including the Declaration of Sentiments as well as the book The Women's Bible. Upon analysis of her speeches and other works, as well as gaining knowledge of her background, one is able to assume that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much of her knowledge was gained by time spent in her fatherâs office reading law books and listening to his conversations with clients. Stanton refused to allow societyâs constraints to limit her ability to excel as mush or more than a young man does. In taking on this conviction, she later in life attempted to have changes made to allow women to attend the same schools (colleges) that men attended. In the experiences Stanton witnessed between clients and Mr. Cady, one particular incident farther provoked Stanton to seek rights for women. In this certain case an ex servant of the family was attempting to regain property that she had purchased before her marriage. Apparently her deceased husband had will the property to his son and the woman was left with nothing. Mr. Cady informed the lady that even though she had purchased the property before wedding, that according to the laws concerning wedlock, all property, earnings, and children were relinquished to the husband. Elizabeth could not believe that the laws were so unjust and that there was nothing her father could do to help the woman regain what was rightfully hers. Being a small child at the time, Stanton told the client that she would search through every law book and cut out any laws that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Factors That Affect The Combined Analysis Of Sa And Iud In this section, we present a four–step methodology to quantify distinct factors that affect the combined analysis of SA and IUD in real domains, as well as the potential benefits of this type of analysis. Basically, the proposed methodology takes into account the domain 's temporal dynamics, the sampling sensitivity of the methods and the observed reciprocity between the collective opinion and opinions propagated by opinion–leaders. Through this methodology, we intend to quantify some important issues related to combine SA and IUD. We are not assuming a closed and complete assessment on all existing issues, which comprise promising research directions for the area.looseness=–1 subsection{Temporal Dynamics Analysis} A main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, we derive the collective opinion $O$ of a whole data sample $D$, using a SA method existing in the literature. Specifically, we adopt in this work the method SACI cite{jws2015}. SACI is relevant to our goal since it was originally proposed for estimating efficiently collective sentiment on data samples, instead of aggregating the sentiment derived for each individual document. Further, the authors demonstrated that SACI is more effective in estimating the collective opinion than aggregation–based SA methods. SACI represents $O$ as a distribution probability among the sentiment classes positive, negative and neutral. Thus, we split $D$ into time units of equal size (e.g., days, weeks, months). Then, we estimate the collective opinion $O_t$ using only the posts belonging to each distinct time unit $t$. Finally, we perform a visual inspection on the derived distributions. The more dynamic a domain, the more different are opinions estimated on distinct time units.looseness=–1 In turn, we measure drifts on the subset of opinion–leaders over time as follows. First, we identify the ordered list $L$ of top–k opinion–leaders on $D$ by using an IUD method. Specifically, we use the presented in cite{iccs2015}, a meta–learning strategy based on PCA that combines linearly orthogonal information exploited by distinct state–of–the–art IUD methods. We will call this method as PCA–IUD. We chose PCA–IUD since it combines ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Sentiment Analysis In A Movie Review Abstract – While sentiment analysis provides fantastic insights and has a wide range of real–world applications, the overall sentiment of a piece of text won't always pinpoint the root cause of an author's opinion. Certain types of documents, such as movie reviews, may contain fine–grained sentiment about different aspects about the service that are mentioned in text. A review about a movie may contain opinionated sentences about its story, cast and direction. This information can help users understand the positive and negative parts of a movie. Aspect–based sentiment analysis makes it easier to identify and determine the sentiment towards specific aspects in text. To identify different aspects of a movie, the application needs to determine the context of a particular sentence or group of sentences in the movie review. These contextual groupings can then be mapped to various aspects of a movie, hence enabling us to score aspects based on their sentiment. Keywords–sentiment analysis, aspect–based, concept resolution, infrequent feature extraction, opinion mining Introduction Currently there are a large number of systems that are targeted at feature extraction from a set of data, which further helps in opinion mining and frequent feature extraction. ... • 19. The Methods For Sentiment Analysis III. APPROACHES OF SENTIMENT ANALYSIS. Sentiment analysis consists of various elements out of which lexicons are an integral part. These lexicons are nothing but the words which make up a sentence. These lexicons can also be known as sentiment lexicon or opinion lexicons. It is important that we classify the lexicons we have into positives or negatives in order to achieve review analysis. One of the methods for sentiment analysis and classification is done on the basis of these lexicons. There are two broad approaches for sentiment analysis. These are lexicon based approaches and machine learning based approaches. These approaches are further divided into different methods as shown in the figure given below. Fig. 2 Sentiment analysis flow Let us consider each approach in more detail. A) Machine Learning Approaches Machine learning methods include the concepts from soft computing field. These methods are classified as supervised and unsupervised methods. The supervised methods can either be probabilistic classifiers else it can be linear classifiers. Probabilistic classifiers include algorithms which use probability to find the classification and then separate the lexicons based on probabilistic calculations. In this approach we use data driven methods, which include the following algorithms. a. Naïve Baye's Classifier: This algorithm includes the use of Baye's theorem for determining the ... • 21. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Opinion Mining The work of a complete review or opinion mining application might involve attacking each of the following problems. If the application is integrated into a general–purpose search engine, then one would need to determine whether the user is in fact looking for subjective material. This may or may not be a difficult problem in and of it: perhaps queries of this type will tend to contain indicator terms like "review", "reviews", or "opinions", or perhaps the application would provide a "checkbox" to the user so that he or she could indicate directly that reviews are what are desired. Besides the still–open problem of determining which documents are topically relevant to an opinion–oriented query, an additional challenge we face in our new setting ... It is also very important to remove all facts that don't express any opinions like news and objective phrases. Here the main focus is on the user's relevant opinions. ii. Pre–processing: The pre–processing is also very important phase in order to remove stop words or irrelevant words from the user's opinions. Our processing system deals only the description part of each review, here processing means splitting review into sentences to create a plain text file of reviews. iii. Classification and part of Speech Tagging (POS): The polarity(+ve or –ve) of the content that must be identified. Normally, the polarities are positive, negative or neutral. POS is a mechanism by which tokens are sequentially labeled with syntactic labels, such as "Verb" or "Noun" or "Adjective". This technique is known as emotional polarity analysis which is related to text mining field, opinion mining and review mining. In addition, to calculate sentiment score, the sentiment acquired from the text is compared to a dictionary in order to determine the strength of that sentiment. Studies on sentiment analysis focus on text written in English such as sentiment lexicons while applying this to other languages will cause domain adaptation problem [12]. Traditional text classification is different from sentiment classification. Traditional text classification refers to pre–defined class to determine a document's category, and it gauges the theme of the text itself, while the main aim of the latter is to determine the attitudes and opinion through mining and analysing user interest or other subjective information [13]. Studies in sentiment analysis have found that pre–processing the data is the procedure of cleaning and adapting. Data mining discovery is applied to identify patterns in data. Likewise, text mining looks for patterns in text. Text mining can work and analyse the unstructured data such as PDF files, emails and XML files [14]. Many researchers have argued that the use of classifiers in tweets, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The paper also describes the problem of generating feature based summaries based on these reviews. According to the paper, a customer review of a particular product is composed of three parts, namely: Different features of the products that the customers have expressed their opinion, Identifying positive and negative opinions based on their reviews and finally Composing a summary based on information obtained. The main advantage of using feature based summary is that it enables customers for explicit reviews on a particular product. This also enables merchants to study the growth of their products ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The system crawls all the information (customer reviews) from the particular product and starts to extract the feature words. The mining classification is divided into three subtasks. First, POS tagging, most product feature in reviews contain nouns and phrases. POS enables to identify these tags words by word. The authors have used NLProcessor linguistic parser to split the sentences and produce POS tag for every individual word. Some pre–processing is performed to remove stop words to avoid big POS tag lists. Fuzzy matching was also used to deal with misspelling and word variants. Second, identifying frequent features, features that are particularly used by customers in many reviews. To put in context, words, or sentences that occur together in many reviews. The authors use association mining to list out these words. An apriori algorithm based association miner is used to identify these features/words. The gathered features cannot possibly be genuine product features. Pruning enables to remove the unwanted features/words that don't match to product opinion or feature. The author uses two pruning methods and compares their efficiency. While using compactness pruning, it looks for features that is composed of two or more words and identifies if they make ... • 29. The Sentiment Analysis Review Abstract– Sentiment analysis is the computational study of opinions, sentiments, subjectivity, evaluations, attitudes, views and emotions expressed in text. Sentiment analysis is mainly used to classify the reviews as positive or negative or neutral with respect to a query term. This is useful for consumers who want to analyse the sentiment of products before purchase, or viewers who want to know the public sentiment about a new released movie. Here I present the results of machine learning algorithms for classifying the sentiment of movie reviews which uses a chi–squared feature selection mechanism for training. I show that machine learning algorithms such as Naive Bayes and Maximum Entropy can achieve competitive accuracy when trained using features and the publicly available dataset. The approach used in this thesis is inspired by Bollen et al's strategy [12], with a step taken forward to implement PageRank algorithm to increase the accuracy of results and use of different sentiment analysis techniques than the techniques used by him. Besides understanding the effects of twitter data and sentiment analysis, a large group of researchers is attracted towards various types of predictions and their applications in various fields. Andrei Oghina [28] predicted Internet Movie Database (IMDB) ratings by information retrieval from social media. They hypothesized that the correlation can be found between the IMDB ratings and social media signals related to movie artifacts (e.g. movie title) . In 2010, Andranik et. al. [29 ] analyzed tweets which mentioned political parties and politician during German election 2009 and found that large number of tweets reflects voter preferences. Also, there are researches speculating the fact that Twitter can be used in areas like real–time event detection like earthquakes [30], tracking the spread of diseases [31]. There is also prior work in finding the correlations between social media and stock market. In 2010, Gilbert and Karahalios [32] estimated anxiety and fear from a dataset of over 20 million posts from LiveJournal site. They calculated an index of US national mood known as the Anxiety Index. Opinion words in the text mostly contribute towards the subjectivity of the text. These opinion words together inform about the emotional context of the text. Objective words contribute towards the factual construct of the text. There are three most common approaches used for determining the sentimental content of a text ¬ Lexical Analysis This is basically a dictionary approach. The text under analysis is converted into tokens. Each token is then matched with the dictionary. If the match is positive, it increments the total score of the text so far, else there is a decrement in the text score if there is a negative match. For example, the word 'beautiful' will increment the total score since it is a positive match. It is a basic but very efficient technique. Some people thought it was nasty and gross to go without shoes in crowded or public areas, but the majority thought that it supported a good cause and were willing as well as excited to join the campaign. We think that this will help boost participation and therefore awareness of the brands mission. One way Toms could accomplish this is by arranging a video competition, which would ask people to make their own video doing their daily activities barefoot. They would then be asked to post the videos on Toms Facebook. Whomevers video got the most 'likes' would win a reward or prize. The Declaration Of Sentiments And Resolutions Feminism in the United States: The Declaration of Sentiments Kyron Brown History 2010 – W9 Professor Pennig November 26, 2014 Introduction In the year 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton conveyed to the audience of the Seneca Falls Convention the Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions . The Declaration of Sentiments was written with the purpose of demanding civil freedom for women and of righting the wrongs of society. The Declaration included events where women's rights were being oppressed and violated and where laws were giving special treatment to men. It also included the resolutions they demanded on these particular cases. In addition, the Declaration was written due to the fact that women in all parts of the globe were being oppressed for many years. The women in many countries, just like in the United States of America, were given a limited set of rights in the society compared to their male counterparts. One great example of this was the women's suffrage in the United States, which was not inherently given to them until its national enactment in the year 1920. Analysis The document was specifically written for women and the events that revolved around their poor conditions in the past. It was also evident that one of its objectives was to promote and endorse feminism. This was due to the fact that women in America were being oppressed up until the mid– 20th century. As Martha C. • 51. A Representation Of Opinion Is Given Below A diagrammatic representation of opinion is given below. Fig.1 Opinion mining basic flow Opinion mining has three basic terminologies on which it can be processed. These are, a. Object: that is the entity or commodity regarding which opinion has to be given. b. Opinion holder: the one who gives the opinion, also known as the author. c. Opinion: the particular statement or the corresponding opinion which is expressed by the opinion holder or the author. Opinion mathematically can be expressed as follows: Opinion is a quintuple(Oj, fjk, hi, tl, SOijkl) where, Oj¬ is the object which is to be opinionated. F¬jk¬ is the kth feature of jth object which is opinionated. h¬i¬ is the ith opinion holder. SO¬ijkl¬ is the sentiment for the jth object's kth feature, by ith opinion holder, at time l. tl is the time at which the opinion is created. Example: a certain person has to comment on a book. Then in this case the person is the opinion holder, the book the object and "this is a good book" is the opinion. II. BASICS OF OPINIONS AND SENTIMENT ANALYSIS Opinions can be of varied types consisting of direct simple sentences as well as compound sentences. These sentences can include views upfront or via comparisons. Example "Audi A6 is better than Maruti Suzuki Alto". Here two entities are compared. Also there are reviewers who like to talk in sarcasm and hence make it extremely complicated to analyze the hidden or the true meaning of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The next step was to observe the sentiment among the users, before and after they had retweeted. We aggregated the 'before' set for all users corresponding to a particular tweet and generated a set of 145 files. Similarly we generated a set of 145 files for 'After' set as well. Then we used LIWC to generate the sentiment score for files corresponding to each BPD tweet. Thus for each of the 145 BPD Tweet, we generated sentiment score of 'before' and 'after', and so we have 290 rows of data as an output by LIWC. When we request Topsy for 200 retweeters of a particular BPD Tweet, we got a random sample of 200 retweeters. For some of these users, the retweets were outside our time interval of consideration. Therefore the number of users considered is not the same across all BPD tweets, it is always a number less than 200. Therefore we added 2 new columns for analysis, the number of users considered and the total number of tweets considered. Later we divided the BPD tweets into two segments 1. Incident related (The tweets by BPD which spoke about the incident and things related to it) 2. Informational (The tweets by BPD which were sent out to public about the road being blocked or about parking related etc.). The reason for dividing into 2 segments was to further observe the difference of impact on users by these tweets, with the help of sentiment scores generated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the common applications of sentiment analysis are, understanding the voice of the customer, voice of the market, the voice of the employee, brand management, financial markets, politics and government intelligence. The objective of the sentiment analysis in the case of Suite Spot would be to increase customer satisfaction based on the sentiment analysis of the customer review data and other available data about the customer and reservation, available from Kayak. This is where a sentiment analysis can offer much more value when compared to a traditional analysis on the customer review data. The key to this is the availability of real–time data about the hotel from customers. In a connected world where information is continuously flowing in the form of tweets, Facebook, and other social media posts, getting real–time sentiment analysis data and acting on the data would help create a competitive advantage for the Suite Spot chain of hotels. First we have to keep track of all the customers who are currently staying in a Suite Spot hotel. As soon as the customer checks in, his customer data is collected from Kayak. Declaration of Sentiments Declaration of Sentiments The Declarations of sentiments was arguably the most significant document in history for the advancement of women in the nineteenth century America. It was made famous at the first Woman's Rights Convention, held in Seneca Falls, New York, in July of 1848. Drafted by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the declaration outlined a series of grievances resulting from the unfair treatment of women and proposed eleven resolutions arguing that women had the right to equality in all aspects of their lives, including the right to vote. Despite the declarations significance, however, it would be seventy–two years later that women finally won the right to vote. In early societies, women bore ... Stanton read the declaration paragraph by paragraph, and over the two–days of discussion, the Declaration of Sentiments and 12 resolutions received agreement endorsement, one by one, with a few amendments. The only resolution that did not pass unanimously was the call for women's authorization. The Seneca Falls convention generated widespread ridicule and even hostility, primarily from religious leaders and the press. An article in the Philadelphia Public
  • 66. Ledger and Daily Transcript (September 1848) opined that, unlike the Seneca Falls women, the women of Philadelphia were "celebrated for discretion, modesty, and unfeigned diffidence" rather than "standing out for woman's rights." After all, the writer reasoned, "A woman is nobody. A wife is everything. A pretty girl is equal to ten thousand men, and a mother is, next to God, all powerful......The ladies of Philadelphia, 3 Metz therefore.....are resolved to maintain their rights as wives, belles, virgins, and mothers, and not as women" (Stanton, Anthony, and Gage, p. 804). • 68. Sentiment Analysis Assignment Hi Girish, Personally I do like the idea of linking such natural phenomenon to emotions. It would be great if you can share more about the project – you can come to one of project TAs' OH once we reach week 3. The following notes is some open–ended questions/thinkings based on your post. Please feel free to follow up. 1.causality v.s. correlation: The Aristotle explanation gives us a direct casual relation between celestial bodies and emotions. I'm sure you does not buy this much. But it could be a good question to ask: Whether the celestial events affect our emotions by changing the dynamics of our body, by some social–economic events (e.g. An EMP that interrupts the production) or by the myths or beliefs only. As you use the word correlation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We have two data set: one is the celestial events and the other is some emotion index/crime index. The final step of calculating correlation probably won't takes much (well, actually it could be really serious if you are taking an econometrist's perspective). So I guess you will apply a lot of machine learning skills for the sentiment analysis? I wonder if it is that necessary since a lot of works have been done on this. You can check out this, a toolkit from Healey & Ramaswamy : https://www.csc.ncsu.edu/faculty/healey/tweet_viz/ Also, the violences, homicides, suicides reported sounds like a more reliable data source for this problem (see the next note). I would suggest talking with a TA to clarify the scope of this project is appropriate. 3.Google Trend Before starting the data preparation, I would suggest using Google Trend to try out some patterns first. For example, homicides in news: https://www.google.com/trends/explore?gprop=news&q=homicides. 4.Scale of correlation If finally you find out there is such correlation, I would suggest some quantitive compaision between daily fluctuation of people's emotion to see how large these disturbances are (so we can decide if we really need the emergency ... • 70. Research Paper On Sentiment Analysis Abstract Due to the large volume of opinion rich web resources like twitter, Face book, blogs and news available in digital form, much of the current research is focusing on the area of sentiment analysis using text analysis. People are getting attracted to develop a system that can extract opinions based on their response on social media sites. Algorithms can be developed so as to predict preferences of people to improve economic and marketing research. This paper presents a sentiment analysis on a recent scenario of Uri Attack. Index Terms– Rich Web Resources, Text Analysis, Uri Attack Introduction Sentiment analysis is a technique for tracking the mood or sentiment of the public for a particular product or incident. Sentiment analysis is also called as opinion mining and it involves in making of a machine that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sentiment analysis concentrates on attitudes, whereas the traditional method of text mining mainly focuses on the analysis of facts. There are few main fields of research in Sentiment analysis: sentiment classification, feature based sentiment classification and opinion summarization. Sentiment classification deals with classifying entire document according to the opinions shown with respect to a certain object. While feature–based sentiment classification considers the opinions on the features of a certain object. Opinion summarization task is different compared to traditional text summarization because only the features of the product are examined on which the customers have expressed their opinions via any social media. Opinion summarization does not summarize the reviews by selecting a subset or rewriting some of the original sentences from the reviews to capture the main points like in the classic text summarization ... • 72. Declaration Of Sentiments Rhetorical Analysis The opening paragraph of Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Declaration of Sentiments, which narrates, "When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary...," (Stanton 1), along with the title itself reveals a connection to Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence. Elizabeth Cady Stanton wrote the declaration after being excluded from the World Anti–Slavery convention, much like how the colonists were excluded from British Parliament. Declaration of Sentiments lists the grievances of women, which is another similarly to Jefferson's Declaration of Independence where he lists the grievances of the colonists. Stanton introduced her Declaration of Sentiments at the Seneca Falls Convention, which further conveys similarity to Jefferson's Declaration of Independence as his Declaration of Independence was introduced at the Second Continental Congress. Stanton, modeling her Declaration of Sentiments after Jefferson's Declaration of Independence, uses anaphora, the rhetorical triangle, allusions, personification, and harsh diction to achieve her effect of inspiring change to the benefit of women in society, similar to how Thomas Jefferson inspired change in the colonies through his Declaration of Independence. In order to emphasize and organize her points about the grievances of women in Declaration of Sentiments, Stanton uses anaphora in like manner to the way Jefferson uses it in Declaration of Independence. In most of Stanton's paragraphs between lines 28 and 70 of her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Machine Learning Approach For Emotions Classification A machine learning approach for emotions classification in Micro blogs ABSTRACT Micro blogging today has become a very popular communication tool among Internet users. Millions of users share opinions on different aspects of life every day. Therefore micro blogging web–sites are rich sources of data for opinion mining and sentiment analysis. Because micro blogging has appeared relatively recently, there are a few research works that are devoted to this topic. In this paper, we are focusing on using Twitter, which is an amazing microblogging tool and an extraordinary communication medium for text and social web analyses. We will try to classify the emotions in to 6 basic discrete emotional categories such as anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness and surprise. Keywords : Emotion Analysis; Sentiment Analysis; Opinion Mining; Text Classification 1. INTRODUCTION Sentiment analysis or opinion mining is the computational study of opinions, sentiments and emotions expressed in text. Sentiment analysis refers to the general method to extract subjectivity and polarity from text.It uses a machine learning approach or a lexicon based approach to analyse human sentiments about a topic..The challenge for sentimental analysis lies in identifying human emotions expressed in these text. • 76. Declaration Of Sentiments Analysis I have recently acquired and read The Declaration of Sentiments, and I found the interest of telling you the three grievances I found most important and least important about the declaration. I will start by listing the three most important grievances, followed by listing the three least important grievances of the document. The first of the most important grievances is, "He has withheld from her rights which are given to the most ignorant and degraded men––both natives and foreigners" (Stanton, 70–71). I found this grievance most important because men allowed people with little to no education the rights that intelligent and diligent women were not allowed. This restraint showed that women were not worth as much as men and I personally do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 78. Monolingual Word Alignment Model For Retrieving MONOLINGUAL WORD ALIGNMENT MODEL FOR RETRIEVING OPINION WORDS AND OPINION TARGETS IN AN SIMPLE WAY R.Vikram, Asst. Professor in CSE, GNITC, Hyderabad, A.P., India, captureratan@gmail.com K.Vikram, Asst. Professor in CSE, GNITC, Hyderabad, A.P., India, vikramkalvala84@gmail.com Patil ManikRao, Asst. Professor in CSE, GNITC, Hyderabad, A.P., India, manikvpatil@gmail.com Abstract: In a global economy, mining the opinion relations between opinion targets and opinion words was the key to collective extraction. To this end, the most adopted techniques have been nearest– neighbor rules and syntactic patterns. To improve the performance of these methods, we can specially design exquisite, high–precision patterns. However, with an increase in corpus size, this strategy is likely to miss more items and has lower recall. In this paper proposes a novel approach based on the partially–supervised alignment model, which regards identifying opinion relations as an alignment process. Compared to the traditional unsupervised alignment model, the proposed model obtains better precision because of the usage of partial supervision. Compared to syntax– based methods, our word alignment model effectively alleviates the negative effects of parsing errors when dealing with informal online texts. The objective is to propose a method based on a monolingual Word alignment model (WAM). An opinion target can find its corresponding modifier through word alignment. In addition, the WAM can integrate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
