Tortoise Underpass Analysis
TNReady Argumentation People should not make wildlife crossings for turtles and tortoises. In the article, " If you build it they will come" It
shows that wildlife crossings don't help with the problem, it goes up actually. In the article, " Tortoise Underpass" It shows that fences don't help
the problem either because they fall over, get buried, or trashed. In the last essay, " Rise in Roadkill Requires Solutions" They do not provide much
information on what they are going to do about it but rather more on how dangerous it is or how much it happens. These essays provide alot of
evidence on turtle and tortoises wildlife crossings and what happens. The article, " If you build it they will come", 6 "... The number of reptiles on...

Star Wars A New Hope Essay
In 1949 Joseph Campbell published his book on myth and heroic archetypes known as "The Hero with a Thousand Faces". Most importantly, the book
outlined the 17 stages of a mythological hero's journey. Star Wars: A New Hope is no exception to the many stories that contain a lot of the main
principles presented in the 17 stages of a mythological hero's journey. While writing Star Wars, George Lucas became fascinated with Joseph Campbell's
book. Even though this wasn't necessarily the basis of his story, he was certainly influenced by his obsession with the monomyth.
The hero's story typically begins in a relatively normal situation before receiving a call to head off into the unknown, this is known as the call to
adventure. In A New Hope we find Luke living the life of a "typical" moisture farmer. Although he dreams of doing bigger things, he is constantly
needed by his Uncle Owen to help with the harvest. This normalcy comes to a halt when R2–D2 arrives on the homestead with a message from
Princess Leia reading "Help me, Obi–Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope,". Luke may not realize it, but his life has changed. When Luke meets
Kenobi, he is asked to join him on a quest to Alderaan to aid the rebellion. But Luke, worried about his responsibility to his uncle and his moisture
farm, tells Kenobi that he has no business going out on some galactic mission with a random old man he just met. This is known as the refusal of the
call. In most myths, the hero refuses to leave the

Guy Vanderhaeghe 's The Last Crossing
Guy Vanderhaeghe's The Last Crossing is a Western of subtly crossed borders. Vanderhaeghe elicits a sense of blurred lines between opposites, giving
the illusion that boundaries are not so statically fixed. The historical figure Jerry Potts illustrates that the division between Indigenous and white is not
so easily distinguished by ways of appearances, languages, and relations. The lines of health and illness intertwine as the reader follows Addington's
syphilis, Custis' mystery ailment, and the Indigenous peoples' struggle with smallpox. Justice, punishment, and the law become subjective in the novel
with regards to Madge's death, Addington's military massacre, and Indigenous resistance against unfair treatment. Distinctions between ... Show more

His abilities with languages lead to his "[making] a living as an interpreter and guide" (105). In The Last Crossing Potts is used as a guide primarily, but
his gift with languages bridges the gap between whites and Indigenous, as he is able to speak English to the Gaunt brothers. Without the understanding
of language, the relationship between the Metis man and the English brothers would never have been established. PROOF COMMENT
Names create an identity, and Vanderhaeghe uses this convention to further confuse the division between Indigenous and white. Jerry Potts is also
referred to as Ky–yo–kosi and Bear Child throughout the novel, mirroring his own inner conflict of being unsure of what he really is. He wants to be
"a Blackfoot, a Real Person" (Vanderhaeghe 106) but he is most commonly called by his white name, reminding the reader of his positions on both
sides. Another instance for confusion is when a Metis brother is referred to with his white and Indigenous name together in a sentence. "Unborn
Calf...McKay's pony" (330).
Health and illness do not have concrete characteristics in The Last Crossing. Addington's battle against syphilis, Custis' near–fatal ailment, and the
Indigenouss' constant fight with smallpox show that appearances are deceiving. Addington is battling with syphilis throughout the book and his health
fluctuates between well and unwell. Addington's health picks up from being "liverish and out of sorts, complexion poor, teeth

The Sarbanes Oxley Act Summary And Introduction
Reforms have been created to close the gap of corporate governance and financial reporting in order to prevent the reoccurrence of corporate scandals.
Congress created a federal bill named the Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) Act in July 2002 in response to the Enron and WorldCom scandals that introduced
major changes to the regulation of corporate governance and financial practice in order to protect the interest of investors and the public
("Sarbanes–Oxley Act Summary and Introduction," 2003). The Act is extensive in corporate governance, which is a comprehensive theory concerned
with the alignment of management and shareholders interest. The sections of the bill cover responsibilities of a public corporation's board of directors,
adds criminal penalties for certain misconduct, and requires the SEC to create regulations to define how public corporations are to comply with the law
(Slater, 2002). The SEC has issued more than twenty rules implementing provisions of the Act pertaining to corporate governance, financial reporting,
and audit functions. The SEC has worked with NYSE and NASDAQ to harmonize the new Corporate Governance Rules. Throughout the rest of this
paper, the more detailed listing requirements of the NYSE and NASDAQ will be discussed. Since the reforms are extensive, these were selected for the
discussion: the increased role of independent directors, independent audit committee, independent directors on the nominating/corporate governance
committee, the

The Crossing Of The Delaware And The Victory At Trenton
A&E's "The Crossing" is an exceptional dramatization of the crossing of the Delaware and the victory at Trenton. It depicts the actions that George
Washington and his men took leading up to the renowned battle. The main points portrayed by the film are relatively accurate; however, there are still
many historical inaccuracies. Washington's use of profanity in the film, the weather during the march to Trenton, and the flag flown by the American
army are just a few. George Washington's dialogue in "The Crossing" is the least accurate element of the film. Washington's leadership style was the
direct opposite. Nearly thirty years before the crossing of the Delaware, Washington made clear how he felt about profanity in his "Rules of Civility."
His twenty second rule stated: "Use no reproachful language against anyone, neither curse, nor revile." Ten years later, he made this clear in his
military affairs:
"Colonel Washington has observed that the men of his regiment are very profane and reprobate. He takes this opportunity to inform them of his great
displeasure at such practices and assures them that if they do not leave them off, they shall be severely punished. The officers are desired, if they hear
any man swear or make use of an oath or execration, to order the offender twenty–five lashes immediately, without court–martial. For the second
offense, he will be more severely punished" (Sparks).

Crossing The Bar 'And Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night'
C. Caiden Cannon Compare/Contrast Literary Analysis 12 February, 2018 In literature there are common overarching themes that connect every
piece of writing. In the hundreds of millions of books every written, there are only seven identifiable plots, overcoming the monster, rags to riches,
the quest, voyage and return, comedy, tragedy, and rebirth. Showing how no matter how different a book may seem it can be easily compared due to
these overarching themes. This is just as through true of the two poems, "Crossing the Bar", by Lord Alfred Tennyson, and "Do Not Go Gentle Into
that Good Night", by Dylan Thomas. These poems are both about death and facing it in different ways. Lord Tennyson's poem is about facing the
onward and inevitable fact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thomas throughout his poem goes through and breaks down men into four different, categories showing men should still fight and struggle against
death no matter what type of man they are. Thomas begs his father who he is begging to fight death, that his father must fight oncoming death.
Showing this poems purpose of begging the listener not to die. This also reveals a different way people perceive death, Thomas's poem shows one
will want always want to stay alive. Directly contrasting Lord Tennyson's poem which says, " And may there be no sadness of farewell, / When I
embark" (Tennyson 11–12). Showing how when one looks upon themself, they will find death as a matter of fact, and view it as something unable to
be fought. Throughout Tennyson's poem he reveals the purpose of his poem, death is natural and inevitable. Tennyson alludes to the fact he wants no
one to be sad at his death unlike in Thomas's poem who clearly shows sadness is normal an even necessary, to encourage the fight of death. As one can
see a major contrast is drawn up through the high difference in the purpose of these two poems, also revealing there are many contrasting thoughts

To An Athlete Dying Young, by A.E. Houseman and Crossing...
"To An Athlete Dying Young" by A.E. Houseman and "Crossing The Bar" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson are poems that very similar to each other yet so
different. "To An Athlete Dying Young" is about an athlete who dies young and Houseman congratulates him because people will remember him
forever. "Crossing the Bar" is about Tennyson realizing that he is about to die and he accepts his fate. Both poems have a similar theme ofdeath. Both
authors make clever uses of symbols such as, in "To An Athlete Dying Young," Tennyson uses a laurel plant, and a rose plant to symbolize the athlete's
accomplishments. In "Crossing the Bar", Tennyson uses the sandbar to symbolize the crossing over. However, therhyme scheme of these poems is
different. Houseman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knows that his time is coming soon but Tennyson does not want anyone to be sad because he is going to see his "pilot face to face (15)." Death
gives him a chance to traverse through the threshold of life and into the afterlife. Tennyson does not think that death is the end, but a beginning
because his spirit will live on with god. He wants death to free him from his hollow shell of a body. He sees death as a way to reach god and
conveys the message that people should not fear death. Tennyson's view of death is similar to that of Houseman's because they both feel that death is
not something to mourn over. Houseman believes that since the athlete dies very young, he will forever be remembered by people for what he
accomplished. Tennyson believes in death in which he tells people to be glad that death has given him a chance to see god. Furthermore, both of these
poems make clever uses of symbols. In "To An Athlete Dying Young," Houseman uses plants such as the laurel and the rose to describe an athlete's
accomplishments. In line 11–12 he says "and early through the laurel grows/it withers quicker than the rose." Houseman's use of the laurel describes
the athlete's courage. In Greek mythology, the strongest warriors were given a wreath made of the laurel plant which is a symbol of victory and
courage. Houseman uses the laurel to signify the young

Dylan Thomas 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night'
Death is an inevitable event that every human being has to face. However, the varying interpretation of death itself and afterlife result in different
attitude towards death. In the poem "Crossing the Bar", Alfred Lord Tennyson describes the irrevocable process of dying metaphorically with a
peaceful tone; whereas in the poem "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night", Dylan Thomas employs the Villanelle form to encourage his sick father
to fight death with an aggressive tone. In "Crossing the Bar", Tennyson demonstrates death as peaceful and doomful as sailing out to sea, suggesting
his accepting attitude towards the end of life and his faith in God that his life is in God's hands. Tennyson does not mention the word "death" in the
poem, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the metaphor Thomas uses to imply death is similar to that of Tennyson, the attitude of Thomas towards death is completely different from
Tennyson's placid attitude. The villanelle form of the poem repeats the central idea "[do] not go gentle into that good night" and "[rage], rage, against
the dying of light" (Thomas 1, 3). The repetition strengthens the belligerent tone of the narrator and accentuates his unwillingness to yield to the
doomed death. "Night" and "light" are contrary subjects that rhyme; night signifies death, whereas light symbolizes life. The narrator suggests that the
switch between life and death is simply the difference between "N" and "L" as the initial letter, yet the rage towards both fate and the inevitable end
destroys the capacity of metaphors to carry the burden of death. Both poems follow clear but different rhyme scheme or forms. While Tennyson's
wave–live lines are integrated in the extended metaphor of sea and thus allowing the perpetuation of time and space, the villanelle form in the latter
poem bears the strong emotion of the narrator within the neat structure and rhyme scheme through the repetition of the central ideas, indicating that the
narrator experiences a moment of burst passion. Within the villanelle structure, the narrator is able to convey the powerlessness and unwillingness of a
dying person through the combination of long line and punctuated short phrases such as "Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight/Blind
eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay"(Thomas 14–15). The comma that separates men, death and their actions vividly pictures the breathless, dying
people who are discontent, contrasting with the content narrator's smoothing tone in "Crossing the Bar". Although both poem extensively

Persuasive Essay On The Border Wall
All through America's history it always had a presidential election every four years, and last years presidential election campaign there were two
leading candidates, so to ensure their victory, they both made promises significant changes, creation. All through last year's campaign, a candidate
named Donald J. Trump made several promises, and one of his promises could change the way of life in American. Mr.Trump won last years
presidential election, and all eyes were on him to the promise vowed to do if and when he is president. That one promise which is opposed by six in
ten Americans is that President Trump promised a 'big, beautiful wall' that would be placed on the Mexican and American border. President Trump
Proposed that he could construct the wall for 8 billion, but now it is known that wall will cost about $21.6 billion for the wall and that the $21.6 plan
doesn't include the $150 million a year to maintain. America shouldn't Build a Wall along the US/Mexico Border because of the high cost and how it
will affect America's economy, also thought the wall would keep out undocumented immigrant from crossing the US border but it is shown that
undocumented immigrants contribute over $11 billion to the US economy each year, and lastly the environment that is near the border, and how it
will be affected and disturbed due to the construction the border wall. President trumps wall will cost about $21.6 billion, and on top of that, it will

Emily Dickinson Poem 465 Analysis
In her poem #465, Emily Dickinson's speaker allow the reader to experience an ironic reversal of conventional expectations of the moment of death in
the mid–1800s, as the speaker finds nothing but and eerie darkness at the end of her life. The first stanza introduces the speaker's earliest memory as
they are starting the journey of crossing over. Right away the reader is introduced to a fly buzzing around the room, "I heard a Fly buzz– when I
died–"(1). The fly represents the soul leaving the body and witnessing the surroundings of the life they are leaving behind. The speaker is aware that
the people around have crying and Dickinson illustrating the scene with a metaphor, "Was like the Stillness in the Air– Between the Heaves of Storm–"
(3–4). The speaker realizes that the family members who have come to mourn have not made any sounds during the periods of wailing and quietly
sniffling. Dickinson's comparison to a storm that changes sound constantly it perfectly displays how people mourn. First loudly, then quietly before the
wails rise again.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No longer are the people's eyes wet with tears but instead are dry and red. This illustrates how the family is anticipating and holding their breath as
the speaker slowly leaves the land of the living. While the speaker is ready to witness the glorious beginning of ascending into the afterlife, they also
see a King who is witnessing the speaker's journey, "For that last Onset– when the King Be Witnesses– in the Room–"(6–7). The king that is also
witnessing the journey that the speaker is embarking on might be what the speaker believes is God watching everything

Ufos And Aliens Research Paper
For decades there has always been the world wide question, Do UFO's and Aliens exists? That question has yet to be answered. Yukon, Canada has
had multiple sighting around the same regional area. The reported size of the semi spherical UFO is over a mile in diameter, or bigger than a
football stadium and light patterns that none of our aircrafts are seen to have. Only a handful of people have laid their eyes on the magnificent
mystery in the sky. This case involves over 30 eyewitnesses and plenty of documentation of what appears to be a massive UFO that appeared over the

Summary Of Crossing The Wire
Crossing the Wire is an award winning book about a young boy's journey across the Mexican border and into America. Although Crossing the Wire is
not based on a true story, it expands on a very real problem that many immigrants face. The story captivates the idea of what it's like to be an illegal
immigrant whilst having a family to provide for. From the viewpoint of Victor Flores, the main character, we see the difficulties Victor has and how he
works his way through them. There are many lessons to be learned from the novel, three of which are: having endurance, thinking through tough
decisions, and putting family first. The first lesson that can be taken from the book is to have endurance.Throughout the novel, Victor Flores, the main
character, encounters many obstacles. Unfortunately, He comes face to face with things that almost make him lose hope.Though troubles come his
way, he learns to avoid them and have endurance through it all. 2 Corinthians 6:4 tells us to have great endurance; in troubles, ... Show more content on

that the borders are more secure today than ever before. According to Andreas "border law evasion is as old as border law enforcement, and

Corporate Scandals And Allegations Of Fraud
Corporate scandals and accusations of fraud have amplified intensely over the last decade. The cost of fraud has reached over $400 billion dollars a

expenses, over value assets, and underreport liabilities. To hide financial problems, management will manipulate stock prices, minimize taxable
income, and maximize compensation. "It 's been my experience... that the past always has a way of returning. Those who don 't learn, or can 't

Upper management abused their responsibilities by misstating financial records. Management manipulated earnings in order to make the numbers
appear good so they will in turn receive a bonus. Companies such as Enron, WorldCom, and Global Crossing had a board of directors that simply were
not doing their job of overseeing the financial reporting (Petra, 2006). Fraudulent activities were caused by conflicts of interest between the directors
and executive officers. Accountants and auditors helped deceive the public by certifying that the financial statements were true and correct of
fraudulent corporations. Incentives drove auditors' behaviors to create this hidden fraudulent activity between the client and the auditor. The fear of
losing the client almost guaranteed that the auditor would comply with the management's decisions. Unfortunately, investors placed their faith in the
auditors' reports, which certified the net income was accounted for correctly. With the support of the auditors' behaviors, these large corporations were
able to hide the fraud for a long time.

Gilgamesh Hero's Journey
The Epic of Gilgamesh is known as the first great heroic narrative, featuring a hero that's theorized to be the inspiration of other heroes, such as
Hercules and Achilles. Joseph Campbell states that all heroes follow a cycle in The Power of Myth, "The usual hero...takes off on a series of
adventures beyond the ordinary." Using this description, it's clear that Gilgamesh fought the ghastly monsters, felt the powerful emotions that come
with both victory and loss, and had the motivations that all heroes following the Hero's Journey have had. Throughout the course of the epic,
Gilgamesh encounters many monstrous beasts, such as Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven which correlates with the Crossing of the Threshold. The

In the Hero's Journey, the step after the Crossing of the First Threshold is the Belly of the Whale. This can be described as the hero's lowest point,
but it is also the beginning of the transition from the hero's old self into his or her new self. Because he killed Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven,
Enkidu is sentenced to die of a wasting disease. Gilgamesh wept for him, because he was the only person he loved other than himself. "Gilgamesh
lamented; seven days and seven nights he wept for Enkidu, until the worm fastened on him" (31). It is clear that this was Gilgamesh's lowest stage,
which matches the description of the Belly of the Whale. It also correlates with the fact that Gilgamesh cared for Enkidu; before the two met,
Gilgamesh was a selfish ruler. Gilgamesh is slowly transforming into a new person that does not put wealth and his own needs first, but rather a

Deer Persuasive Essay
What if I told you there was a way to save so many lives by just keeping one animal off of the roads? There is a serious problem that a lot of people are
facing especially late at night. There have been as horrible incidents as to where people have lost their lives. Or in less serious but still devastating
incidents peoples cars become completely totaled. You never know you might just be on a late night drive heading down main street to pick your kid
up from soccer practice when all of a sudden a deer jumps out from nowhere in front of your car and completely destroys it. That is just talking about
damage to the car too. Hitting a deer can also put your life at risk and can cause fatal injuries.

Solution
Given these points, something has to be done to keep deer off of public roads. There are many different ideas and solutions that have been brought
up to prevent this serious issue. But nothing has actually ever been done publicly at least where I live to keep deer off of public roads. We are
facing a serious issue everyday. Our public roads have become crossing ground for deer. We should put out large salt blocks around the the bases of all
mountains surrounding the city and public roads.
The salt blocks would be very large so they would last a very long time. They would be placed every 5 miles around the bases of all mountains
surrounding the city and public roads. This would go into effect immediately by putting the salt blocks out right now before more deer start to come
down the mountain. The city will pay for these salt blocks and instruct city workers where to strategically place them so that they cannot be passed by
deer coming down the mountain. The deer will then stop and lick the salt blocks instead of coming down and crossing public

Illegal Border Crossing In Canada
Since April of 2016 the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has reported more than 400 refugee claimants illegally crossing the Canadian
border. Many of the migrants are reported to be entering Canada along the Manitoba border from Minnesota, landing in the small town of Emerson
which rests on the 520km stretch of border that the CBSA and RCMP are responsible for securing and monitoring. Quebec has also experienced an
influx of refugee claimants illegally entering their border, approximately 823 between April and November of 2016. The amount of migrants illegally
entering Canada through this stretch of border has increased in recent years, resulting in calls for the government to implement comprehensive
measures to control the illegal crossings and apply the current laws that require migrants to enter legally through Canada's immigration process.

In Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania, Erik Larson tells a story of events surrounding the sinking of Lusitania. He argues that the ship
would not have sunken if time management was different and Room 40 gave detailed directions and warnings to the ship. He claims that the ship
sank for many reasons which led to significant consequences such as United States joining Britain for World War I. Erik Larson's argument is
correct since he has so much evidence in the novel that explains the forces and reasons of the ship's sinking and strongly analyzes his claims and
directs quotes to support them. For example, "Perfectly safe; safer than the trolley cars in New York City.." "We just laughed it off, and said they

In addition, timing is an important factor that led to the sinking. "By the time Bernard made this charge, he had come to understand what few others
seemed to grasp, which was that on this particular voyage, given the convergence of disparate forces, timing was everything. Even the briefest delay
could shape history." (117) The reasons why the ship was so late to start its destination were because of the transferring of the passengers from
Cameronia to the Lusitania and Captain Turner's niece visiting the ship. If this had not happened, the Lusitania would have been closer to its
destination and would never have encountered the U–20 submarine. Room 40 also played a huge part of the ship's sinking. "The Admiralty's
telegraphic records show no reference made at all to the Lusitania, by now four days into its voyage and halfway across the Atlantic," (168) "The
Admiralty was well aware the Lusitania would soon transverse these same waters but made no effort to provide specifics of the night's events directly
to Captain Turner," and "No attempt was made to divert the

The Process Of Meiosis And Mitosis
In order to better understand the process of meiosis and mitosis, students observed different types of asci. The arrangement of spores was associated to
whether crossing over occurred during meiosis 1. We tried observing asci, from the mating plate that we did last lab, with a light microscope. However,
the class was unsuccessful and were told to look for images of asci on google images and use these observations as our data. The observations obtained
from google images, showed that 27 observations were made for asci of type 4:4, 19 for asci type 2:2:2:2 and 14 for asci of type 2:4:2 (Table IB–1).
With these observations, we determined the map distance which was 27.5 map units (Figure 5.4). Since asci of type 4:4 were observed more, crossing
over occurred less, thus producing less asci with different arrangements. Sordaria also undergo mitosis because the end result of meiosis are four
haploid cells and haploid cells cannot divide by meiosis. Lastly, since more asci with type 4:4 were observed, the hypothesis was supported–more
black ascus were also observed which supported the second hypothesis. Although students were not successful in observing asci during the lab, students
were still able to understand the importance of meiosis and relate it to real life issues. INTRODUCTION
Meiosis is a two part cell division (meiosis 1 and meiosis 2) process that produces four daughter cells, each having half the number of chromosomes of
the parent cell–such as the product of

Persuasive Essay On Crosswalks
Summary
Since moving into the neighborhood about seven months ago, there are a lot of activities for the residents to partake in. The neighborhood has
eleven playgrounds, (some which are for younger children considered tot lots), four basketball courts, a pool, a recreational center, and mailboxes at
the end of each resident's street. Seems like a lot of places you are able to walk, right? One thing missing in the neighborhood is crosswalks leading to
each of these different places and more. What I am proposing is to have cross walks put up throughout the neighborhood so residents are safe when
crossing the road.
Problem
A large circle is the main road for the neighborhood and has eight connecting streets leading to where the resident's houses are located. Families each
day walk around the neighborhood to different activities such as the playgrounds, basketball courts, the pool, and other activities. The problem is
when residents have to walk to different places there are no safe places to cross the road. Currently there are no painted crosswalks or even pedestrian
crossing signs. This can cause a major safety concern for residents and drivers. Children and teens can be affect largely by this due to the school bus
dropping them off at the entrance of the neighborhood. Also, as this being unsafe for residents this is also an unsafe condition for others such as, the
families of residents, maintenance workers, delivery drivers, etc. However,

Analysis Of George Sand : A Desire Essay
"To George Sand: A Desire" In the first poem of desire, Elizabeth Barrett uses George Sand's example to tell women to follow one's dreams without
shame. "A Desire" opens with a wonderfully powerful tribute to Sand and in depth look into the sex roles with the statement "Thou large–brained
woman and large hearted man". For instance, line 1 appears as a contrast, after all intellect is associated with women are associated with emotion and
men with intellect sensitivity with men. In this line Mrs. Browning acclaims George Sand 's unification of intellect and sensitivity which explores the
roles of both sexes. She refutes this misconception and proclaims that both men and women can be intellectual as well as emotional. Browning is
speaking against women being under the dominion of men and society decided their roles for them, an idea that is also carried into line with her spirit
"moaning defiance" against these traditional roles. She spoke of passion from a feminine characteristic saying, "no–one could deny its presence in the
novels of George Sand" (Perez, 2014). In lines 6–7 she sets up the dichotomy between man and woman that is continued throughout the rest of the
poem. Mrs. Browning establishing the theme of wanting to be able to have both masculine and feminine traits the idea of being in appliance means
working together. In lines 10–12 she uses angels to continue the appeal that the gender spheres of both men and women are able to work together. By

Ethical Boundaries Misused in Today’s Clinical Psychology...
Ethical Boundaries Misused in Today's Clinical Psychology In today's psychology profession, a therapist and even the client can cross many
boundaries if immediate boundaries are not put into place during the initial visit. Some boundaries that are crossed are not a problem at first and then
the problem progresses. Leonard L. Glass called these, "the gray areas of boundary crossing and violation" (429). However, there is further
description, "Boundary issues mostly refer to the therapist's self–disclosure, touch, an exchange of gifts, bartering and fees, length and location of
sessions and contact outside the office" (Guthiel & Gabbard). This statement by Thomas G. Gutheil, M.D. & Glen O. Gabbard, M.D explains the

How Therapist Self–Disclosure And Non–Disclosure Affects Clients", stated that, "The study results suggest that therapist self‐disclosure has both
positive and negative treatment implications." It depends on how therapeutic the self–disclosure would benefit the client in that given situation, and the
client's receptiveness to what information is given to them; for example, one patient may respond positively to a therapist's self –disclosure that reveals
another safe point of view of an issue, while another patient might feel that therapist's has over stepped their boundaries. Madill et al. stated that, "These
were sometimes attributed to inexperience and sometimes the characteristics of the total situation, such as events from the therapist's personal life"
(13). There are times when sharing something from the therapist can help explain an issue that is present during the time of that therapy appointment.
Another problem with a therapist's self–disclosure is that after years of treatment, the therapist can run out of examples to use to clarify a point made
during the appointment. Years and years of treatment sometimes cover issues where the therapist, will add something about himself or herself. People
who tend to talk for a very long time during therapy can relate on a level that is not crossing the boundaries. In addition, self –disclosure may be a
major problem for therapists who live and work in rural communities, because

Examples Of Double Crossing In Julius Caesar
What does disloyalty mean? Double–crossing is the demonstration of breaking or abusing one's trust or a possible contract, for example, a guarantee,
here in Julius Caesar it is more about breaking trust. The way of double–crossing in Julius Caesar originates from Cassius' control of Brutus into
believing that slaughtering Caesar is the best thing for the countryНѕ while as a general rule, Cassius simply needs to seize power for himself. How can
this contribute How does Brutus double–cross Caesar? In act I Brutus was controlled by Cassius and was persuaded that killing Caesar was the most
ideal thing for the general population of Rome. Later, in act II as Caesar is being killed by the backstabbers, who are individuals Caesar expected could
have accomplished something like this, Brutus enters and wounds Caesar. Caesar investigated Brutus' eyes as he was being wounded. Caeser was
stunned and thought about how Brutus, surprisingly, could have taken an interest in his homicide. This conveys an exceptionally dim intending to the

We use Barry Center crossing reduction heuristics. This is a two layer crossing reduction process. It is applied from top to bottom layer then bottom to
top, this completes one iteration.
Assign artificial positions to first layer and calculate barry center weights of nodes at second layer. Reorder the nodes at second layer in ascending order
of their barycenter weights. The above equation is for top–down sweeps of the layered graph. Similarly use Successors of v in bottom–up sweeps in the
above equation. This process might not remove all edge crossings but gives a good starting point for further Subgraph Crossing Reduction process.

A topological traversal of subgraph ordering graph gives ordering О±o denoting which subgraph is left of other subgraph.
5.POSITIONING
The edge crossings are reduced and nodes are placed according to their subgraphs at each layer. Now we need to calculate absolute positions for
graph nodes such that there will be enough space to draw subgraph boundaries. To draw subgraph vertical boundaries straight we add trail of dummy
vertical nodes one to the left and one to the right side of each layer in every subgraph.
The goal is to position the long edges as straight as possible and vertical borders of subgraph strictly vertical without reordering the nodes at any layer.
We present a heuristic approach based on Brandes[] approach. The nodes have different height and width. There should be no overlap between any two
nodes and node and subgraph boundary. The process consists of three steps. The first and second steps are carried out four times. The first algorithm
referred as vertical alignment, to align nodes with its either median upper or median lower neighbor node. This will give maximum possible straight
long edges positions in upward and downward direction. The alignment conflicts are resolved with leftmost and rightmost direction. Combination of the
directions creates four alignments namely Upward–Left, Upward–Right, Downward–Left and Downward–Right. In second step each alignment is
given absolute positions according to four alignments. In last step these alignments

Comparing The American Pageant And Caleb's Crossing
The American Pageant, written by the AP authors David M. Kennedy and Lizabeth Cohen, and Caleb's Crossing, written by Geraldine Brooks, are two
books that do an excellent job explaining the relationship between Native Americans and the European colonists. After the first settlement of
Jamestown in 1607, Europeans would soon come over to the Americas in waves, colonizing all along the eastern coast. Conflicts with the natives over
territory was inevitable, and the European colonist won almost every fight because of their more advanced weapons (guns) and because they were
immune to Old World diseases that the Indians were not immune to. The textbook captures the violence between the Native Americans and the
European colonists while Caleb's Crossing rather focuses on the tensions amongst the two groups. Despite this difference however, both the textbook

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Poem Analysis
Walt WhitmanВґs poem "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" uses the theme of time to communicate a sense of Trancendentalist unity. Whitman's
Transcendentalist speaker enters the "appearances" and "usual costumes" of the universe of wonders keeping in mind the end goal to find the truth that
ties each and all together in one
The speaker, as The title already indicates taking a ferry in New York, does not waste anytime before presenting the idea that all humans are united in
their common experience. The narrator imagines those who will cross the river in the future, this could also indicate a metaphor for the overall
journey of a human life. He is very optimistic and at ease :He and also everyone else is to him a part of "the simple, compact, well–join'd ... Show more

to remember all that preceded. While before he demonstrated things independently, blended with his own contemplations, here he consolidates them

This segment, and the whole poem, comes full circle in a last stanza where Whitman utilizes the pronoun we again, as though the reader and the
speaker have at last been joined together. We are now able to see the world with new perspective or „free sense" When something has been

Memories are a humans's small time–machines for traveling to their past at anytime. The relation found in Li's story also in Villawood Mum's about
how they crossed boundaries physically but they kept holding on to their memories, their memories were the only bridge to their old lives. Crossing
a specific boundary may not be just physical, it is also metaphorically and that's has a giant impact on the psychological state. So when Li left his

forward because he was stuck between his past and present. His family was always there with him and he mentioned that in this line: "I couldn't stop

photos that are found in his autobiography. Photos are the best way to translate a moment and keep it alive for ever. Li had all his pictures kept and
they are shown in his autography, and this can be related to the Villawood Mums, they've kept all their old photos and that's clearly shown in the film,
when Maria and Zahoor were talking about their old lives. The technique used is 'symbolism', because they used the images to present the importances
of their memories that they had kept. So crossing the boundaries

he created this character so he can help Victor and Rico on his own to give love to his characters. Not only the protagonists have their meanings,

They also save many lives dying on the desert and catch the criminals such as drug smugglers. Jarra, one of the drug smugglers, even a criminal can

In John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath he devoted a whole chapter about a turtle crossing the road, but it was not just a filler, it had a
deeper meaning to it. The chapter told of a turtle that had to cross a highway and along the way it encounters a few hardships. The real reason
Steinbeck added the turtle was to have it symbolize the Joad's journey from Oklahoma to California. During the Joad's trip to the west coast they
definitely had their fair share of "bumps in the road," just like the turtle experienced while crossing the road. Despite all of the obstacles faced by both

Crossing boundaries is pushing yourself past the limits. There are many people that cross various boundaries, whether it is a physical boundary,

While Li is in America he finds a beautiful girl Elizabeth, who he thinks is the one for him. The beach scene we see of Li and Liz is a very

Crossing Boundaries
The essentiality of being able to reach one's full potential is not easy to achieve, or rather, it's something difficult to encounter. It stimulates
individuals to test themselves to the fullest, seeing what they could achieve and how they could do it. To be able to reach one's full potential means
to leave their comfort zones and leave behind a life that was known. By doing so it alters one's viewpoint of how they perceive the world into
something completely different. The texts that present these factors include "Mao's Last Dancer" by Li Cunxin and "Then and Now" by Oodgeroo
Noonuccal, where both share similar properties that relate to crossing boundaries and the challenges and risks that come with it which would
eventually lead them to reach their full potential. Several aspects that come into accord between two texts is how both author's pursue their dreams in
forms of creative arts. Noonucccal placed her experiences into a form of poetry, expressing her thoughts about colonisation in Australia and the... Show

As provided in the last line of the last stanza, "Better when I had nothing but happiness," it proves that Noonuccal was not content with the outcome of
crossing boundaries. Instead, it was her boundaries that were crossed which did not make her happy at all. The memories that were described hinted
strongly that she enjoyed Aboriginal culture, whereas her description of colonised Australia is mildly bitter, showing that euphemism was used to
replace her harsh thoughts. Crossing boundaries to reach one's full potential has to allow an individual to feel content with their efforts. In Then and
Now, however, it strongly hints that Noonuccal has not reached her full potential since she does not appear to be satisfied with the boundaries that were

Tortoise Underpass Analysis

  • 1. Tortoise Underpass Analysis TNReady Argumentation People should not make wildlife crossings for turtles and tortoises. In the article, " If you build it they will come" It shows that wildlife crossings don't help with the problem, it goes up actually. In the article, " Tortoise Underpass" It shows that fences don't help the problem either because they fall over, get buried, or trashed. In the last essay, " Rise in Roadkill Requires Solutions" They do not provide much information on what they are going to do about it but rather more on how dangerous it is or how much it happens. These essays provide alot of evidence on turtle and tortoises wildlife crossings and what happens. The article, " If you build it they will come", 6 "... The number of reptiles on... Fences are not safe or strong enough for the tortoises because the weather can knock them over, they knock them over, or other animals will destroy the fences. In the last essay, " Rise in Roadkill Requires Solutions" They do not provide much information on what they are going to do about it but rather more on how dangerous it is or how much it happens. They say that it occurs way too much and something must be done about it or they may become endangered or even extinct. In conclusion, they should not do anything for the turtles or the tortoises because there's just no way of helping them without wasting a ton of money that could be spent on other ... • 2. Star Wars A New Hope Essay In 1949 Joseph Campbell published his book on myth and heroic archetypes known as "The Hero with a Thousand Faces". Most importantly, the book outlined the 17 stages of a mythological hero's journey. Star Wars: A New Hope is no exception to the many stories that contain a lot of the main principles presented in the 17 stages of a mythological hero's journey. While writing Star Wars, George Lucas became fascinated with Joseph Campbell's book. Even though this wasn't necessarily the basis of his story, he was certainly influenced by his obsession with the monomyth. The hero's story typically begins in a relatively normal situation before receiving a call to head off into the unknown, this is known as the call to adventure. In A New Hope we find Luke living the life of a "typical" moisture farmer. Although he dreams of doing bigger things, he is constantly needed by his Uncle Owen to help with the harvest. This normalcy comes to a halt when R2–D2 arrives on the homestead with a message from Princess Leia reading "Help me, Obi–Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope,". Luke may not realize it, but his life has changed. When Luke meets Kenobi, he is asked to join him on a quest to Alderaan to aid the rebellion. But Luke, worried about his responsibility to his uncle and his moisture farm, tells Kenobi that he has no business going out on some galactic mission with a random old man he just met. This is known as the refusal of the call. In most myths, the hero refuses to leave the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Guy Vanderhaeghe 's The Last Crossing Guy Vanderhaeghe's The Last Crossing is a Western of subtly crossed borders. Vanderhaeghe elicits a sense of blurred lines between opposites, giving the illusion that boundaries are not so statically fixed. The historical figure Jerry Potts illustrates that the division between Indigenous and white is not so easily distinguished by ways of appearances, languages, and relations. The lines of health and illness intertwine as the reader follows Addington's syphilis, Custis' mystery ailment, and the Indigenous peoples' struggle with smallpox. Justice, punishment, and the law become subjective in the novel with regards to Madge's death, Addington's military massacre, and Indigenous resistance against unfair treatment. Distinctions between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His abilities with languages lead to his "[making] a living as an interpreter and guide" (105). In The Last Crossing Potts is used as a guide primarily, but his gift with languages bridges the gap between whites and Indigenous, as he is able to speak English to the Gaunt brothers. Without the understanding of language, the relationship between the Metis man and the English brothers would never have been established. PROOF COMMENT Names create an identity, and Vanderhaeghe uses this convention to further confuse the division between Indigenous and white. Jerry Potts is also referred to as Ky–yo–kosi and Bear Child throughout the novel, mirroring his own inner conflict of being unsure of what he really is. He wants to be "a Blackfoot, a Real Person" (Vanderhaeghe 106) but he is most commonly called by his white name, reminding the reader of his positions on both sides. Another instance for confusion is when a Metis brother is referred to with his white and Indigenous name together in a sentence. "Unborn Calf...McKay's pony" (330). Health and illness do not have concrete characteristics in The Last Crossing. Addington's battle against syphilis, Custis' near–fatal ailment, and the Indigenouss' constant fight with smallpox show that appearances are deceiving. Addington is battling with syphilis throughout the book and his health fluctuates between well and unwell. Addington's health picks up from being "liverish and out of sorts, complexion poor, teeth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Sarbanes Oxley Act Summary And Introduction Reforms have been created to close the gap of corporate governance and financial reporting in order to prevent the reoccurrence of corporate scandals. Congress created a federal bill named the Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) Act in July 2002 in response to the Enron and WorldCom scandals that introduced major changes to the regulation of corporate governance and financial practice in order to protect the interest of investors and the public ("Sarbanes–Oxley Act Summary and Introduction," 2003). The Act is extensive in corporate governance, which is a comprehensive theory concerned with the alignment of management and shareholders interest. The sections of the bill cover responsibilities of a public corporation's board of directors, adds criminal penalties for certain misconduct, and requires the SEC to create regulations to define how public corporations are to comply with the law (Slater, 2002). The SEC has issued more than twenty rules implementing provisions of the Act pertaining to corporate governance, financial reporting, and audit functions. The SEC has worked with NYSE and NASDAQ to harmonize the new Corporate Governance Rules. Throughout the rest of this paper, the more detailed listing requirements of the NYSE and NASDAQ will be discussed. Since the reforms are extensive, these were selected for the discussion: the increased role of independent directors, independent audit committee, independent directors on the nominating/corporate governance committee, the ... • 5. The Crossing Of The Delaware And The Victory At Trenton A&E's "The Crossing" is an exceptional dramatization of the crossing of the Delaware and the victory at Trenton. It depicts the actions that George Washington and his men took leading up to the renowned battle. The main points portrayed by the film are relatively accurate; however, there are still many historical inaccuracies. Washington's use of profanity in the film, the weather during the march to Trenton, and the flag flown by the American army are just a few. George Washington's dialogue in "The Crossing" is the least accurate element of the film. Washington's leadership style was the direct opposite. Nearly thirty years before the crossing of the Delaware, Washington made clear how he felt about profanity in his "Rules of Civility." His twenty second rule stated: "Use no reproachful language against anyone, neither curse, nor revile." Ten years later, he made this clear in his military affairs: "Colonel Washington has observed that the men of his regiment are very profane and reprobate. He takes this opportunity to inform them of his great displeasure at such practices and assures them that if they do not leave them off, they shall be severely punished. The officers are desired, if they hear any man swear or make use of an oath or execration, to order the offender twenty–five lashes immediately, without court–martial. For the second offense, he will be more severely punished" (Sparks). Washington's loathing for expletives persisted even 30 years later as seen in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Crossing The Bar 'And Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night' C. Caiden Cannon Compare/Contrast Literary Analysis 12 February, 2018 In literature there are common overarching themes that connect every piece of writing. In the hundreds of millions of books every written, there are only seven identifiable plots, overcoming the monster, rags to riches, the quest, voyage and return, comedy, tragedy, and rebirth. Showing how no matter how different a book may seem it can be easily compared due to these overarching themes. This is just as through true of the two poems, "Crossing the Bar", by Lord Alfred Tennyson, and "Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night", by Dylan Thomas. These poems are both about death and facing it in different ways. Lord Tennyson's poem is about facing the onward and inevitable fact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thomas throughout his poem goes through and breaks down men into four different, categories showing men should still fight and struggle against death no matter what type of man they are. Thomas begs his father who he is begging to fight death, that his father must fight oncoming death. Showing this poems purpose of begging the listener not to die. This also reveals a different way people perceive death, Thomas's poem shows one will want always want to stay alive. Directly contrasting Lord Tennyson's poem which says, " And may there be no sadness of farewell, / When I embark" (Tennyson 11–12). Showing how when one looks upon themself, they will find death as a matter of fact, and view it as something unable to be fought. Throughout Tennyson's poem he reveals the purpose of his poem, death is natural and inevitable. Tennyson alludes to the fact he wants no one to be sad at his death unlike in Thomas's poem who clearly shows sadness is normal an even necessary, to encourage the fight of death. As one can see a major contrast is drawn up through the high difference in the purpose of these two poems, also revealing there are many contrasting thoughts associated with ... • 7. To An Athlete Dying Young, by A.E. Houseman and Crossing... "To An Athlete Dying Young" by A.E. Houseman and "Crossing The Bar" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson are poems that very similar to each other yet so different. "To An Athlete Dying Young" is about an athlete who dies young and Houseman congratulates him because people will remember him forever. "Crossing the Bar" is about Tennyson realizing that he is about to die and he accepts his fate. Both poems have a similar theme ofdeath. Both authors make clever uses of symbols such as, in "To An Athlete Dying Young," Tennyson uses a laurel plant, and a rose plant to symbolize the athlete's accomplishments. In "Crossing the Bar", Tennyson uses the sandbar to symbolize the crossing over. However, therhyme scheme of these poems is different. Houseman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He knows that his time is coming soon but Tennyson does not want anyone to be sad because he is going to see his "pilot face to face (15)." Death gives him a chance to traverse through the threshold of life and into the afterlife. Tennyson does not think that death is the end, but a beginning because his spirit will live on with god. He wants death to free him from his hollow shell of a body. He sees death as a way to reach god and conveys the message that people should not fear death. Tennyson's view of death is similar to that of Houseman's because they both feel that death is not something to mourn over. Houseman believes that since the athlete dies very young, he will forever be remembered by people for what he accomplished. Tennyson believes in death in which he tells people to be glad that death has given him a chance to see god. Furthermore, both of these poems make clever uses of symbols. In "To An Athlete Dying Young," Houseman uses plants such as the laurel and the rose to describe an athlete's accomplishments. In line 11–12 he says "and early through the laurel grows/it withers quicker than the rose." Houseman's use of the laurel describes the athlete's courage. In Greek mythology, the strongest warriors were given a wreath made of the laurel plant which is a symbol of victory and courage. Houseman uses the laurel to signify the young ... • 8. Dylan Thomas 'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night' Death is an inevitable event that every human being has to face. However, the varying interpretation of death itself and afterlife result in different attitude towards death. In the poem "Crossing the Bar", Alfred Lord Tennyson describes the irrevocable process of dying metaphorically with a peaceful tone; whereas in the poem "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night", Dylan Thomas employs the Villanelle form to encourage his sick father to fight death with an aggressive tone. In "Crossing the Bar", Tennyson demonstrates death as peaceful and doomful as sailing out to sea, suggesting his accepting attitude towards the end of life and his faith in God that his life is in God's hands. Tennyson does not mention the word "death" in the poem, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the metaphor Thomas uses to imply death is similar to that of Tennyson, the attitude of Thomas towards death is completely different from Tennyson's placid attitude. The villanelle form of the poem repeats the central idea "[do] not go gentle into that good night" and "[rage], rage, against the dying of light" (Thomas 1, 3). The repetition strengthens the belligerent tone of the narrator and accentuates his unwillingness to yield to the doomed death. "Night" and "light" are contrary subjects that rhyme; night signifies death, whereas light symbolizes life. The narrator suggests that the switch between life and death is simply the difference between "N" and "L" as the initial letter, yet the rage towards both fate and the inevitable end destroys the capacity of metaphors to carry the burden of death. Both poems follow clear but different rhyme scheme or forms. While Tennyson's wave–live lines are integrated in the extended metaphor of sea and thus allowing the perpetuation of time and space, the villanelle form in the latter poem bears the strong emotion of the narrator within the neat structure and rhyme scheme through the repetition of the central ideas, indicating that the narrator experiences a moment of burst passion. Within the villanelle structure, the narrator is able to convey the powerlessness and unwillingness of a dying person through the combination of long line and punctuated short phrases such as "Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight/Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay"(Thomas 14–15). The comma that separates men, death and their actions vividly pictures the breathless, dying people who are discontent, contrasting with the content narrator's smoothing tone in "Crossing the Bar". All through last year's campaign, a candidate named Donald J. Trump made several promises, and one of his promises could change the way of life in American. Mr.Trump won last years presidential election, and all eyes were on him to the promise vowed to do if and when he is president. That one promise which is opposed by six in ten Americans is that President Trump promised a 'big, beautiful wall' that would be placed on the Mexican and American border. President Trump Proposed that he could construct the wall for 8 billion, but now it is known that wall will cost about $21.6 billion for the wall and that the $21.6 plan doesn't include the $150 million a year to maintain. America shouldn't Build a Wall along the US/Mexico Border because of the high cost and how it will affect America's economy, also thought the wall would keep out undocumented immigrant from crossing the US border but it is shown that undocumented immigrants contribute over $11 billion to the US economy each year, and lastly the environment that is near the border, and how it will be affected and disturbed due to the construction the border wall. • 10. Emily Dickinson Poem 465 Analysis In her poem #465, Emily Dickinson's speaker allow the reader to experience an ironic reversal of conventional expectations of the moment of death in the mid–1800s, as the speaker finds nothing but and eerie darkness at the end of her life. The first stanza introduces the speaker's earliest memory as they are starting the journey of crossing over. Right away the reader is introduced to a fly buzzing around the room, "I heard a Fly buzz– when I died–"(1). The fly represents the soul leaving the body and witnessing the surroundings of the life they are leaving behind. The speaker is aware that the people around have crying and Dickinson illustrating the scene with a metaphor, "Was like the Stillness in the Air– Between the Heaves of Storm–" (3–4). The speaker realizes that the family members who have come to mourn have not made any sounds during the periods of wailing and quietly sniffling. He claims that the ship sank for many reasons which led to significant consequences such as United States joining Britain for World War I. Erik Larson's argument is correct since he has so much evidence in the novel that explains the forces and reasons of the ship's sinking and strongly analyzes his claims and directs quotes to support them. (117) The reasons why the ship was so late to start its destination were because of the transferring of the passengers from Cameronia to the Lusitania and Captain Turner's niece visiting the ship. If this had not happened, the Lusitania would have been closer to its destination and would never have encountered the U–20 submarine. Room 40 also played a huge part of the ship's sinking. The arrangement of spores was associated to whether crossing over occurred during meiosis 1. We tried observing asci, from the mating plate that we did last lab, with a light microscope. However, the class was unsuccessful and were told to look for images of asci on google images and use these observations as our data. The observations obtained from google images, showed that 27 observations were made for asci of type 4:4, 19 for asci type 2:2:2:2 and 14 for asci of type 2:4:2 (Table IB–1). With these observations, we determined the map distance which was 27.5 map units (Figure 5.4). Since asci of type 4:4 were observed more, crossing over occurred less, thus producing less asci with different arrangements. Sordaria also undergo mitosis because the end result of meiosis are four haploid cells and haploid cells cannot divide by meiosis. Lastly, since more asci with type 4:4 were observed, the hypothesis was supported–more black ascus were also observed which supported the second hypothesis. Although students were not successful in observing asci during the lab, students were still able to understand the importance of meiosis and relate it to real life issues. Seems like a lot of places you are able to walk, right? One thing missing in the neighborhood is crosswalks leading to each of these different places and more. Problem A large circle is the main road for the neighborhood and has eight connecting streets leading to where the resident's houses are located. Families each day walk around the neighborhood to different activities such as the playgrounds, basketball courts, the pool, and other activities. The problem is when residents have to walk to different places there are no safe places to cross the road. Currently there are no painted crosswalks or even pedestrian crossing signs. This can cause a major safety concern for residents and drivers. Children and teens can be affect largely by this due to the school bus dropping them off at the entrance of the neighborhood. Analysis Of George Sand : A Desire Essay "To George Sand: A Desire" In the first poem of desire, Elizabeth Barrett uses George Sand's example to tell women to follow one's dreams without shame. "A Desire" opens with a wonderfully powerful tribute to Sand and in depth look into the sex roles with the statement "Thou large–brained woman and large hearted man". For instance, line 1 appears as a contrast, after all intellect is associated with women are associated with emotion and men with intellect sensitivity with men. In this line Mrs. Browning acclaims George Sand 's unification of intellect and sensitivity which explores the roles of both sexes. She refutes this misconception and proclaims that both men and women can be intellectual as well as emotional. Browning is speaking against women being under the dominion of men and society decided their roles for them, an idea that is also carried into line with her spirit "moaning defiance" against these traditional roles. She spoke of passion from a feminine characteristic saying, "no–one could deny its presence in the novels of George Sand" (Perez, 2014). Now we need to calculate absolute positions for graph nodes such that there will be enough space to draw subgraph boundaries. To draw subgraph vertical boundaries straight we add trail of dummy vertical nodes one to the left and one to the right side of each layer in every subgraph. The goal is to position the long edges as straight as possible and vertical borders of subgraph strictly vertical without reordering the nodes at any layer. We present a heuristic approach based on Brandes[] approach. The nodes have different height and width. There should be no overlap between any two nodes and node and subgraph boundary. The process consists of three steps. The first and second steps are carried out four times. The first algorithm referred as vertical alignment, to align nodes with its either median upper or median lower neighbor node. This will give maximum possible straight long edges positions in upward and downward direction. The alignment conflicts are resolved with leftmost and rightmost direction. Combination of the directions creates four alignments namely Upward–Left, Upward–Right, Downward–Left and Downward–Right. The relation found in Li's story also in Villawood Mum's about how they crossed boundaries physically but they kept holding on to their memories, their memories were the only bridge to their old lives. Crossing a specific boundary may not be just physical, it is also metaphorically and that's has a giant impact on the psychological state. So when Li left his family and moved on to start his career in the Ballet Academy, he spent the first years in the school in remembrance of his old life and he didn't move forward because he was stuck between his past and present. His family was always there with him and he mentioned that in this line: "I couldn't stop thinking of my family back home."(–p.118), his memories lived within him and the evidence is the acknowledgment of many details, stories and photos that are found in his autobiography. Photos are the best way to translate a moment and keep it alive for ever. Li had all his pictures kept and they are shown in his autography, and this can be related to the Villawood Mums, they've kept all their old photos and that's clearly shown in the film, when Maria and Zahoor were talking about their old lives. • 33. Animal Snare Research Paper Now where going to talk about different types of traps. There are snares, leg traps, and live traps. They can all be used for any animal, some just work better then others. When using snares I think it works best when there is a fence line. I usually look for fur in the barbwire because if there is fur that means there's animals crossing there. I just take the snare and some wire and put it right there where the animals are crossing and leave it set for a few days before checking it again. If I really wanted to go all out on the set I would put some bait or lures around it. The next trap where going to talk about is a live trap. • 34. Figurative Language In Crossing The Wire Crossing The Wire Crossing the Wire is a novel that tells a story of a boy, Victor, who left Mexico to go to the North to find work and support his family. His family and the people in Mexico were having trouble with the price of the crop they plant; the price keep going down and does not seem like it will ever go up again. Himself, the only man of the family, has to go to the States and find work there so he could send money home. For me, I think Miguel appears in the story as Victor's dad, who knows many things, teaches and helps Victor on his way to get to the States. Miguel has his wife and four kids back home, he need to make money to send them just like Victor's dad once did. Julio, his appearance stands for Rico, I think Hobbs created this character for his novel to give Victor a friend, a hope and guide for crossing the border since Victor did not know how he can get across it. Dave Hansen, this character was standing for the author himself. They both often visit the Arizona's desert and mountains; he created this character so he can help Victor and Rico on his own to give love to his characters. Not only the protagonists have their meanings, also the antagonists have their meanings. The patrolman's appearance that Rico and Victor helped when he was injured by the drug smugglers was used to balance two sides to show the Border Patrol was not the bad people, they just do their jobs to enforce the law and to stop the illegal people. They also save many lives dying on the desert and catch the criminals such as drug smugglers. Jarra, one of the drug smugglers, even a criminal can graduate and work for good money, but in the bad way, shows that anyone can have a better life if they study and graduate. The message that the author wants to give from Rico was that even Rico and Victor are not brothers, but their friendship ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Comparing The Turtles In John Steinbeck's The Grapes Of Wrath In John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath he devoted a whole chapter about a turtle crossing the road, but it was not just a filler, it had a deeper meaning to it. The chapter told of a turtle that had to cross a highway and along the way it encounters a few hardships. The real reason Steinbeck added the turtle was to have it symbolize the Joad's journey from Oklahoma to California. During the Joad's trip to the west coast they definitely had their fair share of "bumps in the road," just like the turtle experienced while crossing the road. Despite all of the obstacles faced by both the Joad's and the turtle, they both managed to make it to their destination and achieve their goal. The turtle did not let the truck stop it from making it to the other side and eventually the turtle accomplished its goal. "The old humorous eyes looked ahead, and the horny beak opened a little," (Steinbeck 22). This was just after the turtle finished crossing the road, and it was looking ahead ready to conquer any more challenges that would be thrown at it later. • 37. Crossing Boundaries The essentiality of being able to reach one's full potential is not easy to achieve, or rather, it's something difficult to encounter. It stimulates individuals to test themselves to the fullest, seeing what they could achieve and how they could do it. To be able to reach one's full potential means to leave their comfort zones and leave behind a life that was known. By doing so it alters one's viewpoint of how they perceive the world into something completely different. The texts that present these factors include "Mao's Last Dancer" by Li Cunxin and "Then and Now" by Oodgeroo Noonuccal, where both share similar properties that relate to crossing boundaries and the challenges and risks that come with it which would eventually lead them to reach their full potential. Several aspects that come into accord between two texts is how both author's pursue their dreams in forms of creative arts. Instead, it was her boundaries that were crossed which did not make her happy at all. The memories that were described hinted strongly that she enjoyed Aboriginal culture, whereas her description of colonised Australia is mildly bitter, showing that euphemism was used to replace her harsh thoughts. Crossing boundaries to reach one's full potential has to allow an individual to feel content with their efforts. In Then and Now, however, it strongly hints that Noonuccal has not reached her full potential since she does not appear to be satisfied with the boundaries that were ...
