This document provides information on designing presentations. It discusses two types of presentations: one-time presentations and weekly presentations. For one-time presentations, more custom templates, strong visuals, and videos ("wowness") can be used. For weekly presentations, simpler templates, bullet points, and diagrams are sufficient. The document encourages adding "little surprises" to presentations occasionally to keep them interesting. It provides tips on using elements like bullets, diagrams, tables, numbers, and quotes in presentations. The overall message is that presentations do not need to be fancy all the time, and content should be prioritized over style.
23. USING BULLET POINTS
When you make reports,
Main ideas are usually presented in bullet points.
Supporting ideas are also in bullets.
This is okay.
But too many bullets and text will just crowd your
presentation.
It becomes difficult to read and to pick up what
you are really trying to say when you have just too
many words on screen like this.
We really really really want to avoid crowding, clutter and having
slides looking like they are documents.
24. USING BULLET POINTS
Slidumentation is NOT ACCEPTABLE
Shorten your ideas on the slide
Discuss the details in person
Split multiple ideas to separate slides
Limit 2-3 ideas per slide
Do not cramp
