Characteristics Of Leadership In The 21st Century
Chapter 4– Leadership in the 21st Century
Leadership is very important to most of us because we either like being guided by someone (which
means being under someone else's leadership) or we are the type who like to take matters into our
own hands. This is technically how we are today (and have always been), where we are either
followers or leaders. Now, each one of these characteristics has their pros and cons, which means
that it is alright to be a follower but up to a certain point. On the other hand, being a leader is a good
thing too, but there are several steps that need to be followed if you want to be qualified as such.
We will not spend too much time on why it is sometimes good to be a follower because it is not the
subject of this chapter, but there are some important points that need to be clarified here before we
carry on. Let's start by defining leadership. What is leadership? Leadership concerns all the
characteristics or activities of a leader that are meant at guiding, and inspiring others. So, this means
that a leader would have to show the following characteristics:
– He/she will have to be charismatic.
– He/she will have to be able to take his/her own initiatives.
– He/she will have to be confident about every important decision he/she makes.
– His/her actions have to serve as examples and inspire others.
– Last, but not least, a leader should always leave a legacy behind him/her.
With that said, let's now cover the journey to leadership, in other words;

A brief history
Independence Air started as Atlantic Coast Airline (ACA) on 15 December 1989. It operated as a
feeder service as United Express for United Airlines and Delta Connection for Delta Airlines. United
withdrew from the contract after ACA labor and management objected to a request for concessions
for a lower fee–for–departure agreement. Consequently, ACA reinvented itself as a low cost carrier
known as Independence Air and began operations on 16 June 2004. Independence Air was based at
Washington Dulles International Airport.

Christopher Columbus Essay
The skills and qualities required of Christopher Columbus in order for him to lead a safe and
successful voyage to undiscovered and unexplored lands weighed heavily on him, as he was initially
placed in a headship position in the course of the planning of the journey because he originated and
entertained the idea of finding a passage to China through unmarked waters. With his assiduousness
and persistence, his appeal and intelligence, he was able to convince the King and Queen of Spain to
fund his trip. These issues, along with the fact that he had never been a captain on a ship, began the
fulfillment of a dream built on nothing. These steps taken were the foundation of what would be a

The most productive way for a leader to deal with an ethical dilemma is to constantly scrutinize
their own feelings and thoughts and to exercise negotiation skills with those who abide by differing
values. To practice like this demonstrates to others that the leader is open to listening to others and is
agreeable to working together despite diversity.
The formula for a an extraordinary, noteworthy leadership has been debated by the likes of great
men for thousands of years, men from every walk of life, on to every corner of the earth. Although
this said formula has been contemplated, deliberated, and disputed frontward and backward, it
ultimately comes down to what an individual may seek and deem significant enough for one to
perform quality leadership.

· The higher investment in infrastructure would make them more solid competitors in this industry.
Argentina:
· The poor planning on the exchange rate pegging could make costs very cheap.
· The strengthening of the infrastructure could further increase their competitiveness in this sector.
Chile:
· The willingness to negotiate the location of the contact center by CORFO.
· The high network readiness from Chile could ease the adoption of the newest technologies in
contact centers.
THREATS
Mexico:
· The lack of competition leaves the contact center vulnerable to the rise of prices that the sole
competitor in telecommunications sector can impose at will.
Argentina:
· A possible failure in the exchange rate pegging could make them loose attractiveness as a potential
investment site due to the subsequent crisis.
Chile:
· A rise of competition of contact center could create a "Dublinization" that would make salaries
increase and therefore the overall costs would be considerably higher.
Integration of the Discussion
A major issue that is mentioned along the case is labor. The cost of labor, labor laws, qualified labor
force, etc. Therefore it is really important to compare this variable among he Latin American
countries, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
It is very important to mention that when it comes to labor, Chile is the only country that has it as a
positive aspect in the analysis. Chile has a competitive

Why Beauty id Truth by Ian Stewart
Why Beauty is truth: A History of Symmetry by Ian Stewart is in depth on how mathematicians
came about symmetry. Instead of coming across symmetry by geometry as someone today might
think, Stewart shows how it became an idea by algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological
order from the early Egyptians and Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up
to the impossibility to solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians
get one step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way.
Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to the Babylonians,
solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any clue about how the Babylonians
came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came across is geometrically. Stewart shows how
Euclid's Elements of Geometry introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in
Elements in Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a
compass and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect and angle
though, which could have been used for the construction of a regular 7–gon. It was Euclid's
Elements that inspired mathematicians to take it one step further and solve the things that Euclid had
left out, such as squaring the circle with only a compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these
problems led mathematicians to change the way that they

Rainbow Community Center (RCC) The purpose of this paper is to examine the current programing
at The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County (RCC), as well as the current measures
it uses for evaluating the services they provide. The program will be described with an emphasis on
the counseling and case management programs, which currently do not have a method of gaining the
clients' perspective of how well a counseling or case management session went. A needs assessment
for the Counseling and Case Management Programs will be provided along with suggested
improvements and an improved evaluation tool suggestion.

"Lead by example," is one of the most famous sayings. For many people the saying "Lead by

Reflective Essay On Becoming A Teacher
I never wanted to be the line leader in Kindergarten. I was happy with following everyone else. All
throughout growing up I would do whatever my friends did. We played the same sports, joined the
same clubs, had the same classes, and even wore the same clothes. Even though I was content with
being a follower and doing what everyone else was doing, I knew something was missing. I wanted
to be my own person and I had so many ideas and thoughts to share, yet no one wanted to hear them
from someone who wasn't loud and outgoing. As I entered my teen years I wanted people to hear
me, so I made it my goal to give myself a voice and become the leader rather than the follower.
Learning how to lead others helped create many opportunities for me and I finally found what was
missing in my life. My ideas were finally heard and used, and I could not be more pleased. I grew
into a strong, creative, and hard–working woman.
Learning how to become a leader was grueling. It didn't happen overnight like I had hoped. There
were many steps I had to take like learning how to open myself up to people. I was always a simple
person who never shared how they felt with people. I needed to learn how to open up to people
more, so I started being honest when someone would ask how I was doing. I also started telling
people about the good and bad things that happened to me like the good grade I got on a hard test, or
how I slipped and fell in front of an enormous crowd of people. Sharing little things

A Communication Analysis Of The Waterview Connection...
Have the Right Actions been Taken?
A Communication Analysis of the Waterview Connection Development
Introduction
Grunig (2013) sees public relations and communication management as fundamental to the
achievement of organisational goals. A major road and tunnelling project in West Auckland, has
required considerable planning and communication alongside its publics. The Waterview
Connection Development (WCD) is a motorway connection between State Highways 16 and 20,
which, in part, runs as tunnels. The WCD links between the central business district and the airport,
and an alternative to State Highway 1.
This essay critically assesses how the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has communicated
with publics throughout the WCD. It analyses the communication activity, and applies public
relations theory.
Key Publics
Major publics with a distinct interest include residents with properties affected by the noise and
possible shifts of land, road–users who may experience delays during building, and businesses that
may lose of revenue if customers find it difficult to access them. Mehta and Xavier (2009) note
engagement relationship strategies used with various publics may be different to each other and
during different parts of the project. Managers will need to negotiate with residents, road–users and
business–owners to minimise disruptions.
All affected sections of Auckland 's multicultural population should be included in the organisation
's publics. The diversity

over the introduction and implementation of policies , policies are primarily to meet business needs
rather than those of employees, there is no evidence of reduction in working hours, tangible and
intangible work intrusions into domestic life , domestic responsibilities are still conducted primarily

as example, Comair want to replace the old system but there is none of them working or researching
the new system. On the other hand, Comair also have to ensure the old system still working is
proper situation. This is that way to lower the risk whereby keeping the old system working if the
new system fail. Throghout this stage the replacement can work smoothly. From the case study I
also realise that the staff of Comair does not play their own role. This is because they did not check
with their competitor as other competitor already using the new system. For me, I will always check
with the competitor current information system. Checking does not mean to be a "copy cat" but to
understanding the change and how to improve our own system.
Was there anything Delta executives could have done during the merger to have avoided this type of
exposure from their new acquisition? Yes, there was things that should be done by Delta executives
during the merger to avoid this tyoe of exposure from their new acquisition. The exposure could
been avoided if Delta had done a comprehensive analysis of the risk that this new system posed to
the airline's daily operation and taken the step to test the work or mitigate the risk. What have done
by the Delta or Comair executive, they did not take serious consideration about the replacement

The Leadership Of A Global Society

Leadership in a Global Society
Fall 2015
Culture was and always going to be alive, it never dies. However, today is different, culture is
spreading rapidly, and it became vital to acknowledge at least the basics of each culture. Due to
multiplicity of cultures within societies, not any leader could lead a group of followers, but only
prototype leaders who are needed to lead diverse organizations nowadays. Leadership becomes
difficult; it requires awareness of one's culture and skills to navigate within several cultures.
Immigrants migrates every day to a new country, marketing is becoming internationally advertised,
technology, media, all of these aspects changed the way life used to be seen. Today, it is
unprofessional for leaders to not acknowledge a little background of their followers, or at least to be
aware of what is their basic values. Therefore, for leaders to be successful in maintaining a good
relation with their followers in today's diverse society and in reaching success for their companies, I
believe that they must be characterized by five major qualities. Farsighted, collaborative,
inspirational, humble and respectful are the prototype qualities whom leaders must be portrayed as
in a diverse society.
Surely one of the common goals between leaders is success. And success cannot be reached in the
absence of Leaders' farsightedness and wisdom. Regardless of how

Essay On Ralph In Lord Of The Flies
Over the course of the novel, Ralph loses his leadership qualities, becomes less confident, and
becomes more sensitive which causes the boys to lose faith in him and sparks tremendous violence.
During the earlier chapters of Lord of the Flies, Ralph proved to be a strong leader, but this changes
as the novel goes on. Ralph used to be an extremely powerful individual, and did not let anyone or
anything get in his way. At one point, when things do not happen as Ralph had planned, he yells at
the boys and says, " I was chief, and you were going to do what I said" (70–71). Ralph did not like
what was happening, and clearly communicated that this was not what he wanted. In a way, he
"punished" the boys by yelling at them, and showed them that the actions they took were not
acceptable. This is a valued quality of a strong leader: being able to show people the difference
between right and wrong. As the novel continues on, Ralph starts to change, and does not
demonstrate the qualities of being an effective leader. He becomes more of a follower, which leads
the other boys to lose faith in him. When the boys go hunting, mob mentality takes a hold of Ralph.
He gets caught up with the excitement and joins in on what the other boys are doing, even though it
goes strictly against what he values. Ralph is not acting the way a leader should. This mob mentality
was shown after the boys almost killed the pig, when "Ralph, carried away by a sudden thick
excitement, grabbed Eric's spear and

Pilot Shortage In The United States Essay
The Pilot Shortage in the United States In the next 7 years there is an expected surge in the
availability of jobs for pilots in the United States. With the amount of baby boomer pilots retiring
there is a traditional way for them to be replaced: The pilots from the lesser paid regional airlines
(Delta Connection, United Express etc. affiliates) interview and move up to the mainline carriers
(American, Delta, United) and graduates from flight programs (Auburn, Embry Riddle, University

Delta and The Future of The Airline Industry Essay
IV. The Future of the Airline Industry
The Airline Industry is in an interesting situation. Simply adding a low cost alternative is not enough
in the industry. The Internet has made the power of buyers grow with the transparency of ticket
prices. This is not something that will change any time soon. Because of this profitability is
predominately reserved for low–cost yet distinctive carriers. No consumer wants to ride what they
consider a "lesser" airline. Airlines need a way to distinguish themselves from one another while
also acknowledging the increased power of buyers. The future of the industry is in JetBlue's "cheap
chic" style. Airlines need to maintain a cost effective price point while also not appearing cheap.

Through similar mergers in the 1980s and 1990s, Delta extended its reach into trans–continental and
international markets (Rivkin 7–8). According to its stated position today,
"Delta Air Lines serves more than 160 million customers each year. With an industry–leading global
network, Delta and the Delta Connection carriers offer service to 356 destinations in 65 countries on
six continents." (Delta.com).
The result of this objective is the third largest commercial carrier in the world, having a strong
presence in major hubs such as Atlanta, Dallas, Cincinnati, and Salt Lake City (Rivkin 8).
As with all airlines, Delta's recent performance has been significantly impacted by industry shifts
and external events. Terrorist attacks and escalating costs have significantly impacted Delta's
profitability in recent history (Rivkin 4). The company has also been losing valuable market share to
the low–cost carrier Southwest Airlines throughout the southeast and specifically in the lucrative
Florida market (Rivkin 8). JetBlue also began encroaching on key Delta routes, and this seems only
likely to increase (Rivkin 9). Despite this, Delta has still performed better than any other legacy
carrier (Rivkin 8). Still, recent history has brought several changes to this legacy carrier, and the
company has turned its attention towards new competitive strategies.

Congenital Heart Disease Essay
1) Introduction Congenital heart diseases (CHDs) are the most prevalent of all birth defects and the
leading cause of death in the first year of life, (1) with an annual prevalence ranging from six to
twelve affected infants per 1,000 live births. (2)
Several chronic maternal medical conditions, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, connective
tissue disorders, and congenital heart disease confer an increased risk of CHD in the offspring. (3)
Congenital cyanotic heart disease (CCHD) is a cardiac defect which facilitates complete mixing of
the deoxygenated systemic venous blood returning from the tissue and the fully oxygenated
pulmonary venous blood from the lung in a common receiving chamber. (4)
Cyanotic congenital heart defects include; Transposition of the great arteries, Truncus arteriosus,
Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection. (5)
Echocardiography is the initial diagnostic modality for a patient with suspected congenital heart
disease. In some patients, however, use of this modality is encumbered by its limited ability to
delineate great arteries and intra cardiac anomalies, pulmonary veins, and coronary arteries. (7)
Besides echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and Multi–slice computed
tomography angiocardiography (MSCT) have gained particular importance. (8) The presence of
image degrading artifacts from implanted metal, such as intravascular stents and embolization coils;

Julius Caesar Galois Research Paper
Galois was born into a family involved in the French First Republic in Bourg–la– Reine a commune
in the French Empire. His father was amiable and highly philosophical in nature;he directed a school
educating about sixty boarders. He was later elected mayor of Bourg–la–Reine. His mother,
Adelaïde–Marie, was from a family of jurists and had received a more traditional education; she was
well–versed in Latin and Classical Literature. She had a headstrong personality and was eccentric,
even considered queer by many. Galois had a sister named Nathalie–Théodore and a brother called
Alfred. Évariste received his primary education from his mother. She looked forward to inculcate in

Although he was unable to verbally explain himself Galois preformed and revolutionized people's
views on mathematics with his new ideas on radicals and degree which many at the time had never

make an impact on the world. Most of Galois' work was never accepted much less even appreciated
by society in the era but after his death professors were able to decipher his methods which could've

scheduled air transportation for passengers and cargo throughout the globe while based primarily in
the United States. Despite extreme competition, Delta maintains its strong market position on the
global scale. The airlines began operations in 1928 as a small local US based air Transportation
Company aimed at providing reliable travel. This paper will discuss the management functions
utilized that have helped Delta pursue in a future time period and how those objectives can be

an organization in a specified duration. During the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To achieve this function Delta creates an environment that motivates staff efficiency by management
implementing methods to better understand subordinates' principles attitudes, values, personalities,
emotions, and attitudes. These traits help the Delta management navigate the resources to properly
identify what changes can be made for bettering the company in meeting their goals. The last stage
of function of management, controlling. This includes setting and establishing values to be
maintained within the company. It also involves evaluation of results in comparison with the set
standards and incase of any variations, it helps management to come up with the appropriate
measures. Controlling, commonly thought of in terms of financial standards, managers also control
production and operations processes, as well as procedures for delivery of services all within
compliance of company policies, and other activities in the organization. Delta management apply
several strategies for controlling and they are implemented in three steps: 1. Established
performance standards. 2. Reflecting on actual performance to the standards. 3. Developed methods
of corrective action based on the deviation from the standard. These measures are put into place for
and by the management to better structure the company for them to be in compliance with the
consumer needs. Planning Management enters the planning stage by deciding what objectives to

Security And Privacy Of The Cloud Storage Services
Cloud storage has been employed to provide online storage services for various kind of users having
different requirements. It provides great flexibility in the sense that users can take advantage of the
services from any location just with the availability of the internet connection. The data backup and
storage facilities provided by cloud computing allow the users to store their information in the
cloud, thus providing them the benefits of easy access, protection and reliability (as data is stored in
multiple sites). However, the users are unsure and unaware about where their data is specifically
stored and who all can have access to their data stored in the cloud. This makes the security and
privacy of users' data critical. In this project we aim at doing an analysis of the security schemes
employed by different cloud vendors to avoid the security and privacy intrusion of the user 's
information stored in their respective backup services. Different providers of the cloud storage
services address the problem of security and privacy in their cloud through various ways and may
come up with different schemes. There have been various studies catering to the individual scenarios
and past security and privacy breaches in the cloud. However, this project aims to study the various
techniques to provide a holistic view of the various threats to this technology and analyzed the
following cloud storage services in terms of the cryptographic schemes employed for the data

Frame-Relay

August 20, 2013 Abstract
In this discussion we look at some of the history around frame–relay. We then look at some of the
equipment necessary to create the frame relay connections, as well as how the connections work
both logically and physically. Some limiting factors are discussed as well as committed information
rates, burst rates, an error handling. Some of the positive aspects of frame–relay are identified along
with some options for the future of WAN technologies.
Frame–Relay
Operating at the physical and datalink layers of the OSI model, frame relay is a high–performing
WAN protocol. It was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows frame–relay to provide a low cost of ownership while adhering to standards and
internetworking with other services. A highly reliable WAN may be achieved through frame–relay
and a good service level agreement (SLA) from the provider.
Frame–relay can be thought of as a simple principle because it allows the higher–level protocols to
deal with many of the problems. Although, it can include optional features such as congestion
notification and signaling mechanisms. Ideally, a committed information rate (CIR) is selected that
best meets the needs of the customer. This is the maximum burst rate, which when exceeded can
cause the frames to be discard eligible (DE). In reality, the nature of frame–relay allows all bits to be
discard eligible, but the error correction is handled by the upper layers. Some configurations allow
speeds to burst above the CIR, but never more than the physical capacity of the circuit. The DLCI is
the connection identifier for the PVC in the connection oriented datalink protocol that is frame–
relay. By switching variable length frames, statistical multiplexing is achieved. Even though frame–
relay may be susceptible to traffic delays it can still be optimized for delay sensitive traffic such as
voice over IP.
Because the frame–relay path is known, it is used to connect the customer premises equipment
(CPE) to the frame–relay switch. The LMI keep alive signaling happens

The Importance Of Fanatic Discipline In Nursing
As look to the future, I become excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. I was captured by
Collins with these words, "We cannot predict the future. But we can create it" (p.1). Great by
Choice, then became something of an obsession. I began to dissect and examine myself and my gifts
and talents to determine where my strengths lay, and weaknesses could be improved. I examined
how I could become of better service, exercise humility and leadership more effectively and how I
could share my passions with others. I suggest that if I could accomplish these goals, I would indeed
feel as fulfilled. As I continued my inward journey, I devoured the subsequent chapters where I felt
continued to be reassured. Fanatic Discipline is described by Collins consistency with regard to
values, long–term goals, performance standards and consistency over time. He goes on to remind us
that regimentation is not the same as discipline and to a 10Xer the only discipline is self–discipline
(p.21). In the medical profession, the best nurses learn to triage when it comes to patient care. This
means, to determine the priority of the patients' treatment based on the severity of condition of each
individual. This is especially important when handling crisis situations and requires fanatic
discipline. Lack of monomaniacal focus in medicine can result in the loss of life. I would suggest
that in our day to day professional and personal lives 10Xers, must be able to triage according to

Who Is Amalie Emmy Noether?
Amalie Emmy Noether was born on March 23, 1882 to a Jewish family in Erlangen, Bavaria,
Germany. Emmy had three brothers Fritz Noether, Alfred Noether, Gustav Robert Noether. Her
father Max Noether was a mathematician professor. Emmy Noether spent an average childhood
learning the arts that were expected of upper middle class girls.
Noether graduated from Höhere Töchter Schule in Erlangen. In 1900 she was certified to teach
English and French. But rather than teaching, she pursued a university education in mathematics,
which was then considered as a challenging path for a woman. She took Mathematics classes for
two years from the University of Erlangen after obtaining permission from the German professors.

She developed the abstract and conceptual approach to algebra, which resulted in several principles
unifying topology, logic, geometry, algebra and linear algebra. Her works were a breakthrough in
abstract algebra. Her study based on chain conditions on the ideals of commutative rings were
honored by many mathematicians all over the world. Her paper 'Idealtheorie in Ringbereichen' or
'Theory of Ideals in Ring Domains', published 1921, became the foundation for commutative ring
theory. The 'Noetherian rings' and 'Noetherian ideals' formed part of her mathematical contributions.
Her insights and ideas in topology had a great impact in the field of Mathematics.
The third epoch began from 1927–1935, where non–commutative algebras, representation theory,
hyper–complex numbers and linear transformations became the primary focus of her study. Noether
was awarded the Ackermann–Teubner Memorial Prize in Mathematics in 1932.
Noether had undergone surgery to remove a uterine tumor, but she died from a post–operative
infection in April 1935. She was fondly loved and respected by her students. The University of
Erlangen honored her after World War II ended. A co–ed gymnasium, dedicated to Mathematics was

Heart Abnormalities: Critical Congenital Heart Defects
Critical Congenital Heart Defects are abnormalities of the heart structure that are present at birth.
These occur because of incomplete or abnormal development of the fetus' heart. These defects can
cause severe mortality within the newborn stage (Goldstein, 2013, p.1). Several are known to be
linked to genetic disorders such as Down syndrome and others are thought to be linked to
environmental factors that women can be exposed to while pregnant. The cause of most CCHD's is
unknown.
Symptoms of significant heart defects include but are not limited to, rapid breathing, difficulty
feeding, and blueness in the lips, excessive sweating, and fatigue. A common feature of many forms
of congenital heart disease is hypoxemia.
Newborns with CCHD are susceptible to serious and sudden worsening clinical status, in the first
days and weeks of life. Some babies born with a heart defect may appear healthy at first and are sent
home with their families before their heart defect is detected. It is estimated that about 300 infants
with an unrecognized Critical congenital heart defect (CCHD) are discharged each year from
newborn nurseries in the United States. These babies are at risk of having serious complications and
often require emergency care. That is why screening and follow–up treatment are so vital. Newborn
screening and follow up is seen as a public health role. In order to perform this role, effectively
partnerships are required between hospitals, clinical and

The 53 RWHAP Part A recipients reported the number of staff FTE assigned to CQM. Data was
extracted from each application and the total FTE for one recipient was further categorized based on
the position titles. The number of FTE staff in the recipient's CQM program ranges from 0 – 17.3
FTE. On average, 3.27 FTE are on staff and the median is 2.35 FTE. It is important to note that
some recipients reported the FTE including contractors specifically assigned to CQM. CQM Staff
Roles and Responsibilities Narrative: Extracted information from each recipient's application was
categorized into different position titles. Since the titles for similar roles and responsibilities varied
among each recipient, general position titles were created based on the duties. According to the data
presented, recipients reported having 5 contract analysts, 7 epidemiologists, 7 nurses, 10 research
analysts, 15 administrative assistants, and 18 health specialists. In addition, recipients reported
having 47 QM managers, 40 data managers, 35 program administrators, and 10 other FTEs that

Since the descriptions of quality management staff vary among the same reported position title, it is
more important to examine the specific roles and responsibilities of each CQM staff rather than the
designated position title on the report. Additionally, the number of FTE does not always correlate
with the amount of quality management work produced by the recipient. Some recipients reported 1
FTE but subcontracted many services, while other recipients reported many FTE's but only 1
contracted service. Therefore, the number of FTE, description of positions, and contractor roles must
all be examined in a comprehensive review in order to analyze an individual

Using TCP / IP : The Application Of A Network System
Network is the mediator between customer PC and server. It connects customer PC to the server and
permits the sharing of information stored in server computers. It is critical to choose the right
network with regards to architecture outline as it must be sufficiently secure. As this system is a
secure system, thus, connection oriented approach utilizing TCP/IP is proposed. The client may need
a connection–oriented application for something as vital as viewing electronic pay stubs. A UDP or

Routers: We require a router to be installed at the edge of the network. There are various sellers but
two popular ones are Cisco and Juniper. Cisco and Juniper have a wide variety of products and they
provide quality products. Examples of these products are Cisco 2900 series router, Juniper
ACX1100 router.
Switches: We need to introduce several switches in the network. We need to have switches that can
be placed as core switch and some other switches that can be set as access switches. Additionally,
we need the switches to have PoE capabilities. Some contenders for purchasing switches are Cisco,
Juniper and HP. Some products as per SIMT requirements are Cisco 3650 for access layer, Cisco
4500–X for Core Switching network, Juniper EX2200, Juniper EX3200, and so on.

Followership is as Important as Leadership
A leader alone cannot accomplish a goal or vision by oneself. There is a built in assumption in our
society that everybody should strive to be a leader. That's where the fame and fortune are–with the
leaders. "You can get a PhD in organizational leadership, but you can't even get a bachelor's in
followership." (Mercer) Why should an organization focus on followership as much as leadership?
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines followership as "the capacity or willingness to follow a
leader". Over the last several years, there's been a huge interest in leadership. However, former HP
Executive Vice President, Vyomesh Joshi, shared that the key to being a great leader is not about
leadership but instead the real attribute is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, these types of followers are the ones to jump ship thinking that there is no room to climb
higher. The disengaged followers doesn't see the value in his or her work showing low levels of
commitment. The disgruntled demonstrates low levels of job satisfaction and is considered to be less
productive. To some degree, they feel a sense of anger usually resulting from having some negative
interaction with the organization. Adair believes that most employees function as with disciples or
doers. They are the most satisfied and productive employees while they operate under the quadrant
that suits them the best. However, if they get stressed out they could get pushed into the disengaged
and disgruntled quadrants. To help change back, followers will have to work with their leader and
change their attitudes.
"The difference between followers and leaders is that followers need leaders to help them follow
what leaders themselves are following. This relationship takes the form of a shared response–ability
to a shared calling. Both find each other in a true fellowship to create the world responsibly." –
James Maroosis
A person who exemplifies followership is Jimmy Collins, famous author of "Creative Followership:
In the Shadow of Greatness". He believes that leadership is important, but does not overlook the rule
of followership. He believes that followership engaging in worthwhile activities while following the
lead of others.

Colombia were so amazed of George's sales that he was invited to meet Pablo Escobar. Pablo and
George agreed to work together. Escobar became the top US importer of cocaine at that time. As

a woman who later became his wife and with whom he would eventually have a daughter. After
settling with a family, he decided to end the drug business forever.
Everything was well until one day on his birthday, together with all of his old drug dealer friends,
George was arrested by FBI and DEA for possession of drugs. Following his arrest, he became a

Personal Narrative Essay On Nintendo

It was early morning and the Colorado sky was still a greyish blue when my babysitter had arrived
early. This was when she got a call from my mom as she asked if she could talk to me, so, she

we played our first game and I lost because I was younger and smaller and we were playing sports

Later that night I switched out games to a speed racer one that took hand skill and timing and I won

Leaders And Followers : An Effective Leader
To be an effective leader you need to give subordinates what is missing in their environment by
helping them balance for their lack of abilities in certain areas (Northouse, 2013). The concept
behind leaders and followers is a continuation of the situational approach, (Northouse, 2013) "which
suggests that a leader must adapt to the development level of subordinates". This led to a more
developed theory where leaders focus on motivating employee in other to enhance their
performance and satisfaction thus path–goal theory was born, the link between the style a leaders
uses and different kinds of subordinate in a work setting (Northouse, 2013). Although subordinates
know that they will be successful if they believe that the payoff for their work is worthwhile, a
theory was put into place to help guide the leaders in the right direction when it comes to
subordinates characteristics and task characteristic. Kelly stated that for someone to be accepted as a
leader you have to a group of followers who wants to follow you (Kelly, 2009). The roles of leaders
and followers within a certain organisation stems from the path–goal–theory, which breaks down the
behaviours into four main ones;
Directive leaders give subordinates instruction about tasks, which includes what, is expected of
them, how it is to be done and the timeline.
Supportive leaders are approachable and friendly, while caring about the well being of their
subordinates. Everyone is treated as one

grades but his SAT score was low. During an attempt to cheat and have his friend forge a signature
on his SAT scores, George got caught; which lessened his chances of going to college. It was then
that George's uncle tried to help him get a job in Boston, but George wanted to make his own
money–his way. George eventually attended college at the University of Southern Mississippi but

The Importance Of Drug Smuggling In Australia
Nearly one third of the 545 Australians currently imprisoned or facing charges overseas were
convicted or arrested for drug–related crimes, according to the latest figures from the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Drug smuggling overseas is an enormous problem in our generation.
Our society has seen countless of offenders in the newspapers and on social media, including the
outrageously infamous Bali Nine, Cassie Sainsbury and Schapelle Corby as the drug smugglers
most emphasised in the media in the last 15 years. Serious criminal offences committed like these
cases see drug smugglers sentenced to harsh sentences in overseas countries like Bali and Columbia.
However for large cases like these, special applications can be made for Serious Overseas Criminal
Matters through the government. The only way to be eligible for Serious Overseas Criminal Matters
is by being sentenced to either imprisonment for 20 years or more, or the death penalty. To be
sentenced to convictions like this the person must have committed a serious offence, involving a
large amount of drugs. When amounts like these are used in cases it's hard to understand how the
convicted person is not guilty. It goes without saying "innocent until proven guilty" and cases like
Schapelle Corby and Cassie Sainsbury continually express their innocence, however with evidence
and flaws in their cases it's hard to see how innocent is the case. Drug smuggling, whether it be a
mule or the ringleader is a seriously

Who Is The Hero 's Journey?
One of the most thought of and unanswered questions that we humans ponder over is, " what is the
meaning of life?" We might not know the answer to that question, but what we can do is look at our
lives and the lives around us and compare it to the Hero's Journey. Now the Hero's Journey is an, "
all–embracing metaphor for the deep inner journey of transformation that heroes in every time and
place see to share, a path that leads them through great movements of separation, descent, ordeal,
and return". Everyone has their own goals in their lives and how they want to accomplish them.
Many want to go to college for extra education and study and get a degree in what they are
interested for a occupation. For example, a student could have a goal one day to become a lawyer
and to establish a law firm in Chicago. So in order to do so, he or she must take the time to hit the
books, get good grades, and do whatever is necessary to accomplish what they set out to do. The end
product of whatever happens to that student is only part of the Hero's Journey. It's not about the end
product, for it is about the journey that the student experienced through his life time to eventually
get to his goal. Now in the Hero's journey, there is usually a special weapon or talent that the
protagonist is either born with or has received. To clear any confusion up, a special gift or talent
may include a lightsaber (Luke SkyWalker), a ring (Lord of the Rings), or even a lightning shaped
scar (Harry

Gi-Fi Technology
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Wi–Fi (ieee–802.11b) and Wi–Max (ieee–802.16e) have captured our attention. As there are no
recent developments which transfer data at faster rate as video information transfer taking lot of
time. This leads to introduction of Gi–Fi technology. It offers some advantages over Wi–Fi, a similar
wireless technology. In that it offers faster information rate (Gbps), less power consumption and low
cost for short range transmissions. Gi–Fi which is developed on an integrated wireless transceiver
chip. In which a small antenna used and both transmitter–receiver integrated on a single chip, which
is fabricated using the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) process. Because of Gi–

So to have higher data transfer rate at lower power consumption we move onto Gi–Fi technology.
➢ The 802.11b and 802.11g flavours of Wi–Fi use the 2.4 GHz spectrum, which is crowded with
other devices such as Bluetooth, microwave ovens, cordless phones, or video sender devices, among
many others. This may cause degradation in performance. Other devices which use microwave
frequencies such as certain types of cell phones can also cause degradation in performance.
➢ Power consumption is fairly high compared to other standards, making battery life and heat a
concern.
➢ Not always configured properly by user. Commonly uses WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
protocol for protection, though has been shown to be easily breakable. Newer wireless solutions are
slowly providing support for the superior WPA (Wi–Fi Protected Access) protocol, though many
systems still employ WEP.
CHAPTER 3 GI–FI
Gi–Fi or gigabit wireless is the world's first transceiver integrated on a single chip that operates at
60GHz on the CMOS . process. It will allow wireless transfer of audio and video data at up to 5
gigabits per second, ten times the current maximum wireless transfer rate, at one–tenth the cost.
NICTA researchers have chosen to develop this technology in the 57–64GHz unlicensed frequency
band as the millimeter–wave range of the spectrum makes possible high component on–chip
integration as well as allowing for the

Characteristics Of Leadership In The 21St Century

  • 1. Characteristics Of Leadership In The 21st Century Chapter 4– Leadership in the 21st Century Leadership is very important to most of us because we either like being guided by someone (which means being under someone else's leadership) or we are the type who like to take matters into our own hands. This is technically how we are today (and have always been), where we are either followers or leaders. Now, each one of these characteristics has their pros and cons, which means that it is alright to be a follower but up to a certain point. On the other hand, being a leader is a good thing too, but there are several steps that need to be followed if you want to be qualified as such. We will not spend too much time on why it is sometimes good to be a follower because it is not the subject of this chapter, but there are some important points that need to be clarified here before we carry on. Let's start by defining leadership. What is leadership? Leadership concerns all the characteristics or activities of a leader that are meant at guiding, and inspiring others. So, this means that a leader would have to show the following characteristics: – He/she will have to be charismatic. – He/she will have to be able to take his/her own initiatives. – He/she will have to be confident about every important decision he/she makes. – His/her actions have to serve as examples and inspire others. – Last, but not least, a leader should always leave a legacy behind him/her. With that said, let's now cover the journey to leadership, in other words; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It operated as a feeder service as United Express for United Airlines and Delta Connection for Delta Airlines. United withdrew from the contract after ACA labor and management objected to a request for concessions for a lower fee–for–departure agreement. Consequently, ACA reinvented itself as a low cost carrier known as Independence Air and began operations on 16 June 2004. Independence Air was based at Washington Dulles International Airport. Christopher Columbus Essay The skills and qualities required of Christopher Columbus in order for him to lead a safe and successful voyage to undiscovered and unexplored lands weighed heavily on him, as he was initially placed in a headship position in the course of the planning of the journey because he originated and entertained the idea of finding a passage to China through unmarked waters. The most productive way for a leader to deal with an ethical dilemma is to constantly scrutinize their own feelings and thoughts and to exercise negotiation skills with those who abide by differing values. To practice like this demonstrates to others that the leader is open to listening to others and is agreeable to working together despite diversity. The formula for a an extraordinary, noteworthy leadership has been debated by the likes of great men for thousands of years, men from every walk of life, on to every corner of the earth. Although this said formula has been contemplated, deliberated, and disputed frontward and backward, it ultimately comes down to what an individual may seek and deem significant enough for one to perform quality leadership. • 13. Why Beauty id Truth by Ian Stewart Why Beauty is truth: A History of Symmetry by Ian Stewart is in depth on how mathematicians came about symmetry. Instead of coming across symmetry by geometry as someone today might think, Stewart shows how it became an idea by algebra. Most of the book is told in chronological order from the early Egyptians and Babylonians discovery of the quadratic equation and leading up to the impossibility to solve the quintic equation. Through each chapter we see how mathematicians get one step closer to solving the quintic, and their struggles they faced along the way. Early Equations The earliest record of the quadratic that we know of dates back to the Babylonians, solved on a tablet. Historians and Mathematicians do not have any clue about how the Babylonians came to solve the quadratic, but think that they came across is geometrically. Stewart shows how Euclid's Elements of Geometry introduced the basic methods for constructing a proof. Included in Elements in Proposition 9 of Book I is how Euclid shows how to bisect an angle with only a compass and a straightedge. Elements did not include information on how to trisect and angle though, which could have been used for the construction of a regular 7–gon. It was Euclid's Elements that inspired mathematicians to take it one step further and solve the things that Euclid had left out, such as squaring the circle with only a compass and a straightedge. The difficulty of these problems led mathematicians to change the way that they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All throughout growing up I would do whatever my friends did. We played the same sports, joined the same clubs, had the same classes, and even wore the same clothes. Even though I was content with being a follower and doing what everyone else was doing, I knew something was missing. I wanted to be my own person and I had so many ideas and thoughts to share, yet no one wanted to hear them from someone who wasn't loud and outgoing. As I entered my teen years I wanted people to hear me, so I made it my goal to give myself a voice and become the leader rather than the follower. Learning how to lead others helped create many opportunities for me and I finally found what was missing in my life. My ideas were finally heard and used, and I could not be more pleased. I grew into a strong, creative, and hard–working woman. Learning how to become a leader was grueling. It didn't happen overnight like I had hoped. There were many steps I had to take like learning how to open myself up to people. I was always a simple person who never shared how they felt with people. I needed to learn how to open up to people more, so I started being honest when someone would ask how I was doing. I also started telling people about the good and bad things that happened to me like the good grade I got on a hard test, or how I slipped and fell in front of an enormous crowd of people. A Communication Analysis of the Waterview Connection Development Introduction Grunig (2013) sees public relations and communication management as fundamental to the achievement of organisational goals. A major road and tunnelling project in West Auckland, has required considerable planning and communication alongside its publics. The Waterview Connection Development (WCD) is a motorway connection between State Highways 16 and 20, which, in part, runs as tunnels. The WCD links between the central business district and the airport, and an alternative to State Highway 1. This essay critically assesses how the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has communicated with publics throughout the WCD. It analyses the communication activity, and applies public relations theory. Key Publics Major publics with a distinct interest include residents with properties affected by the noise and possible shifts of land, road–users who may experience delays during building, and businesses that may lose of revenue if customers find it difficult to access them. Mehta and Xavier (2009) note engagement relationship strategies used with various publics may be different to each other and during different parts of the project. Managers will need to negotiate with residents, road–users and business–owners to minimise disruptions. • 28. The Leadership Of A Global Society Youssef Aguisoul Prototype Leaders within Diversity Kennesaw State University Leadership in a Global Society Fall 2015 Culture was and always going to be alive, it never dies. However, today is different, culture is spreading rapidly, and it became vital to acknowledge at least the basics of each culture. Due to multiplicity of cultures within societies, not any leader could lead a group of followers, but only prototype leaders who are needed to lead diverse organizations nowadays. Leadership becomes difficult; it requires awareness of one's culture and skills to navigate within several cultures. Immigrants migrates every day to a new country, marketing is becoming internationally advertised, technology, media, all of these aspects changed the way life used to be seen. Today, it is unprofessional for leaders to not acknowledge a little background of their followers, or at least to be aware of what is their basic values. Therefore, for leaders to be successful in maintaining a good relation with their followers in today's diverse society and in reaching success for their companies, I believe that they must be characterized by five major qualities. Farsighted, collaborative, inspirational, humble and respectful are the prototype qualities whom leaders must be portrayed as in a diverse society. Surely one of the common goals between leaders is success. And success cannot be reached in the absence of Leaders' farsightedness and wisdom. Regardless of how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Essay On Ralph In Lord Of The Flies Over the course of the novel, Ralph loses his leadership qualities, becomes less confident, and becomes more sensitive which causes the boys to lose faith in him and sparks tremendous violence. During the earlier chapters of Lord of the Flies, Ralph proved to be a strong leader, but this changes as the novel goes on. Ralph used to be an extremely powerful individual, and did not let anyone or anything get in his way. At one point, when things do not happen as Ralph had planned, he yells at the boys and says, " I was chief, and you were going to do what I said" (70–71). Ralph did not like what was happening, and clearly communicated that this was not what he wanted. In a way, he "punished" the boys by yelling at them, and showed them that the actions they took were not acceptable. This is a valued quality of a strong leader: being able to show people the difference between right and wrong. As the novel continues on, Ralph starts to change, and does not demonstrate the qualities of being an effective leader. He becomes more of a follower, which leads the other boys to lose faith in him. When the boys go hunting, mob mentality takes a hold of Ralph. He gets caught up with the excitement and joins in on what the other boys are doing, even though it goes strictly against what he values. Ralph is not acting the way a leader should. This mob mentality was shown after the boys almost killed the pig, when "Ralph, carried away by a sudden thick excitement, grabbed Eric's spear and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Simply adding a low cost alternative is not enough in the industry. The Internet has made the power of buyers grow with the transparency of ticket prices. This is not something that will change any time soon. Because of this profitability is predominately reserved for low–cost yet distinctive carriers. No consumer wants to ride what they consider a "lesser" airline. Airlines need a way to distinguish themselves from one another while also acknowledging the increased power of buyers. It provides great flexibility in the sense that users can take advantage of the services from any location just with the availability of the internet connection. The data backup and storage facilities provided by cloud computing allow the users to store their information in the cloud, thus providing them the benefits of easy access, protection and reliability (as data is stored in multiple sites). However, the users are unsure and unaware about where their data is specifically stored and who all can have access to their data stored in the cloud. This makes the security and privacy of users' data critical. In this project we aim at doing an analysis of the security schemes employed by different cloud vendors to avoid the security and privacy intrusion of the user 's information stored in their respective backup services. Different providers of the cloud storage services address the problem of security and privacy in their cloud through various ways and may come up with different schemes. There have been various studies catering to the individual scenarios and past security and privacy breaches in the cloud. However, this project aims to study the various techniques to provide a holistic view of the various threats to this technology and analyzed the following cloud storage services in terms of the cryptographic schemes employed for the data ... We then look at some of the equipment necessary to create the frame relay connections, as well as how the connections work both logically and physically. Some limiting factors are discussed as well as committed information rates, burst rates, an error handling. Some of the positive aspects of frame–relay are identified along with some options for the future of WAN technologies. Frame–Relay Operating at the physical and datalink layers of the OSI model, frame relay is a high–performing WAN protocol. It was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This allows frame–relay to provide a low cost of ownership while adhering to standards and internetworking with other services. A highly reliable WAN may be achieved through frame–relay and a good service level agreement (SLA) from the provider. Frame–relay can be thought of as a simple principle because it allows the higher–level protocols to deal with many of the problems. Although, it can include optional features such as congestion notification and signaling mechanisms. Ideally, a committed information rate (CIR) is selected that best meets the needs of the customer. This is the maximum burst rate, which when exceeded can cause the frames to be discard eligible (DE). In reality, the nature of frame–relay allows all bits to be discard eligible, but the error correction is handled by the upper layers. Some configurations allow speeds to burst above the CIR, but never more than the physical capacity of the circuit. The DLCI is the connection identifier for the PVC in the connection oriented datalink protocol that is frame– relay. By switching variable length frames, statistical multiplexing is achieved. Even though frame– relay may be susceptible to traffic delays it can still be optimized for delay sensitive traffic such as voice over IP. Because the frame–relay path is known, it is used to connect the customer premises equipment (CPE) to the frame–relay switch. The LMI keep alive signaling happens

I was captured by Collins with these words, "We cannot predict the future. But we can create it" (p.1). Great by Choice, then became something of an obsession. I began to dissect and examine myself and my gifts and talents to determine where my strengths lay, and weaknesses could be improved. I examined how I could become of better service, exercise humility and leadership more effectively and how I could share my passions with others. I suggest that if I could accomplish these goals, I would indeed feel as fulfilled. As I continued my inward journey, I devoured the subsequent chapters where I felt continued to be reassured. Fanatic Discipline is described by Collins consistency with regard to values, long–term goals, performance standards and consistency over time. He goes on to remind us that regimentation is not the same as discipline and to a 10Xer the only discipline is self–discipline (p.21). In the medical profession, the best nurses learn to triage when it comes to patient care. This means, to determine the priority of the patients' treatment based on the severity of condition of each individual. This is especially important when handling crisis situations and requires fanatic discipline. Lack of monomaniacal focus in medicine can result in the loss of life. Emmy had three brothers Fritz Noether, Alfred Noether, Gustav Robert Noether. Her father Max Noether was a mathematician professor. Emmy Noether spent an average childhood learning the arts that were expected of upper middle class girls. Noether graduated from Höhere Töchter Schule in Erlangen. In 1900 she was certified to teach English and French. But rather than teaching, she pursued a university education in mathematics, which was then considered as a challenging path for a woman. She took Mathematics classes for two years from the University of Erlangen after obtaining permission from the German professors. After passing the matriculation exam ... She developed the abstract and conceptual approach to algebra, which resulted in several principles unifying topology, logic, geometry, algebra and linear algebra. Her works were a breakthrough in abstract algebra. Her study based on chain conditions on the ideals of commutative rings were honored by many mathematicians all over the world. Her paper 'Idealtheorie in Ringbereichen' or 'Theory of Ideals in Ring Domains', published 1921, became the foundation for commutative ring theory. The 'Noetherian rings' and 'Noetherian ideals' formed part of her mathematical contributions. Her insights and ideas in topology had a great impact in the field of Mathematics. The third epoch began from 1927–1935, where non–commutative algebras, representation theory, hyper–complex numbers and linear transformations became the primary focus of her study. Noether was awarded the Ackermann–Teubner Memorial Prize in Mathematics in 1932. Noether had undergone surgery to remove a uterine tumor, but she died from a post–operative infection in April 1935. She was fondly loved and respected by her students. The University of Erlangen honored her after World War II ended. A co–ed gymnasium, dedicated to Mathematics was named after her in ... • 55. Heart Abnormalities: Critical Congenital Heart Defects Critical Congenital Heart Defects are abnormalities of the heart structure that are present at birth. These occur because of incomplete or abnormal development of the fetus' heart. These defects can cause severe mortality within the newborn stage (Goldstein, 2013, p.1). Several are known to be linked to genetic disorders such as Down syndrome and others are thought to be linked to environmental factors that women can be exposed to while pregnant. The cause of most CCHD's is unknown. Symptoms of significant heart defects include but are not limited to, rapid breathing, difficulty feeding, and blueness in the lips, excessive sweating, and fatigue. A common feature of many forms of congenital heart disease is hypoxemia. Newborns with CCHD are susceptible to serious and sudden worsening clinical status, in the first days and weeks of life. Some babies born with a heart defect may appear healthy at first and are sent home with their families before their heart defect is detected. It is estimated that about 300 infants with an unrecognized Critical congenital heart defect (CCHD) are discharged each year from newborn nurseries in the United States. These babies are at risk of having serious complications and often require emergency care. That is why screening and follow–up treatment are so vital. Newborn screening and follow up is seen as a public health role. In order to perform this role, effectively partnerships are required between hospitals, clinical and ... Data was extracted from each application and the total FTE for one recipient was further categorized based on the position titles. The number of FTE staff in the recipient's CQM program ranges from 0 – 17.3 FTE. On average, 3.27 FTE are on staff and the median is 2.35 FTE. It is important to note that some recipients reported the FTE including contractors specifically assigned to CQM. CQM Staff Roles and Responsibilities Narrative: Extracted information from each recipient's application was categorized into different position titles. Since the titles for similar roles and responsibilities varied among each recipient, general position titles were created based on the duties. According to the data presented, recipients reported having 5 contract analysts, 7 epidemiologists, 7 nurses, 10 research analysts, 15 administrative assistants, and 18 health specialists. In addition, recipients reported having 47 QM managers, 40 data managers, 35 program administrators, and 10 other FTEs that range from a social work intern to a staff analyst. Conclusion: ... There is a built in assumption in our society that everybody should strive to be a leader. That's where the fame and fortune are–with the leaders. "You can get a PhD in organizational leadership, but you can't even get a bachelor's in followership." (Mercer) Why should an organization focus on followership as much as leadership? The Merriam Webster dictionary defines followership as "the capacity or willingness to follow a leader". Over the last several years, there's been a huge interest in leadership. However, former HP Executive Vice President, Vyomesh Joshi, shared that the key to being a great leader is not about leadership but instead the real attribute is ... Leaders And Followers : An Effective Leader To be an effective leader you need to give subordinates what is missing in their environment by helping them balance for their lack of abilities in certain areas (Northouse, 2013). The concept behind leaders and followers is a continuation of the situational approach, (Northouse, 2013) "which suggests that a leader must adapt to the development level of subordinates". This led to a more developed theory where leaders focus on motivating employee in other to enhance their performance and satisfaction thus path–goal theory was born, the link between the style a leaders uses and different kinds of subordinate in a work setting (Northouse, 2013). Although subordinates know that they will be successful if they believe that the payoff for their work is worthwhile, a theory was put into place to help guide the leaders in the right direction when it comes to subordinates characteristics and task characteristic. Kelly stated that for someone to be accepted as a leader you have to a group of followers who wants to follow you (Kelly, 2009). The roles of leaders and followers within a certain organisation stems from the path–goal–theory, which breaks down the behaviours into four main ones; Directive leaders give subordinates instruction about tasks, which includes what, is expected of them, how it is to be done and the timeline. Supportive leaders are approachable and friendly, while caring about the well being of their subordinates. Everyone is treated as one Participative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Importance Of Drug Smuggling In Australia Nearly one third of the 545 Australians currently imprisoned or facing charges overseas were convicted or arrested for drug–related crimes, according to the latest figures from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Drug smuggling overseas is an enormous problem in our generation. Our society has seen countless of offenders in the newspapers and on social media, including the outrageously infamous Bali Nine, Cassie Sainsbury and Schapelle Corby as the drug smugglers most emphasised in the media in the last 15 years. Serious criminal offences committed like these cases see drug smugglers sentenced to harsh sentences in overseas countries like Bali and Columbia. However for large cases like these, special applications can be made for Serious Overseas Criminal Matters through the government. The only way to be eligible for Serious Overseas Criminal Matters is by being sentenced to either imprisonment for 20 years or more, or the death penalty. To be sentenced to convictions like this the person must have committed a serious offence, involving a large amount of drugs. When amounts like these are used in cases it's hard to understand how the convicted person is not guilty. It goes without saying "innocent until proven guilty" and cases like Schapelle Corby and Cassie Sainsbury continually express their innocence, however with evidence and flaws in their cases it's hard to see how innocent is the case. • 80. Who Is The Hero 's Journey? One of the most thought of and unanswered questions that we humans ponder over is, " what is the meaning of life?" We might not know the answer to that question, but what we can do is look at our lives and the lives around us and compare it to the Hero's Journey. Now the Hero's Journey is an, " all–embracing metaphor for the deep inner journey of transformation that heroes in every time and place see to share, a path that leads them through great movements of separation, descent, ordeal, and return". Everyone has their own goals in their lives and how they want to accomplish them. Many want to go to college for extra education and study and get a degree in what they are interested for a occupation. For example, a student could have a goal one day to become a lawyer and to establish a law firm in Chicago. So in order to do so, he or she must take the time to hit the books, get good grades, and do whatever is necessary to accomplish what they set out to do. The end product of whatever happens to that student is only part of the Hero's Journey. It's not about the end product, for it is about the journey that the student experienced through his life time to eventually get to his goal. Now in the Hero's journey, there is usually a special weapon or talent that the protagonist is either born with or has received. To clear any confusion up, a special gift or talent may include a lightsaber (Luke SkyWalker), a ring (Lord of the Rings), or even a lightning shaped scar (Harry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
