Why Minions Sell A Man
Why Minions Sell
A man, his two kids and a lady are standing over a counter making their orders for minions to a
group of three staff behind a counter, a lady is approaching and a gentleman is walking away from
the counter with a plate of minion. The environment around the minion store is neat with pictures of
different tastes of minions and their preferred drinks mounted on the upper part of the counter. The
customers are anxiously waiting with the two kids and the lady directly staring at the staff. The
minion commercial does not compare itself with other adverts in the market but instead focuses on
winning the market for minions by enlightening the customers on the supplementary drinks that best
accompany minion and displaying the environment surrounding its consumption. The commercial
generally tries to portray minion's dominance in the platform of snacks by using different groups
who have embraced its consumption in the society and its influences in the consumption of different
complementary drinks.
The aim of advertising commercials is to win the interest of different groups in the society. Art
Markman who has a PhD and is a professor of Psychology and Marketing at the University of Texas
writes in his publication "What Does Advertising Do" that the most powerful effect of advertising is
to create a good feeling about a product by surrounding it with other things that consumers like (1).
The commercial tries to convince the people that its consumption has been embraced

International Monetary System And Its Effects On The Economy
Worldwide Alternative Currencies Throughout history, economic crises have emerged continuously.
According to the International Monetary Fund, in the four decades between 1970 and 2010, there
were no fewer than 145 banking crises, 208 monetary crashes, and 72 sovereign debt crises. This
adds up to a total of 425 systemic crises across the world (Lietaer 3). These crises are caused
because of the way the world monetary system has been set up. With debt being the basics of the
current monetary system many local communities have developed new systems to replace or to help
stabilize the current fiat currency system. These alternative forms of currencies are usually on a
smaller, local scale to help the community balance the unstable ... Show more content on

Time Dollars or Time Banking is a relatively new concept that has actually been happening for
years. It is the process of exchanging time for time in a small local community. This has actually
been happening for years just never in an organized system. People earn Time Dollars by helping
others through services or a good. They can then either spend the Time Dollars to get help or a good
for themselves or their families, or they can donate their Time Dollars to others in need of help
(Cahn 3). An example of this would be in a baker needed help fixing his roof, then a roofer could fix
his roof and get Time Dollars for his help. Then the roofer could use the Time Dollars to "purchase"
someone else 's time for a good or service he needs done. This allows more and more people to
contribute to the community. Therefore making the community more productive and economically
stable. Time Banking can help stabilize the economy in small local communities because even if the
fiat currency loses its value everybody in the community will still have a service to offer for time
(Eisenstein 306). In the United Kingdom they have come up with a much different currency to help
stabilize the current currency. The Bristol Pound is a complementary currency to the British pound
used in the city of Bristol. It is one of the largest alternative currencies in the United

Art And Three Elements Of Art Influence In A Restaurant
The painting I will analysis is painting 4. The painting has described the context in a high–end
restaurant. Based on the dress code of the guests, I guess this painting is in the past and those people
are lords. They are having conservation in the restaurant during leisure. It is noteworthy that some of
them wear heavy makeup.
Now, I will analysis this painting on three art elements and three principles of design. The most
significant element in this painting is color. Color acts as a vital role in many paintings. In this
painting, it depicted the atmosphere of the restaurant. Analyzing this painting as a whole picture, I
divided it into four corners evenly. The upper left corner is the group of people with two men at the
back. The upper right corner is the walls of the restaurant with two women. The hue of both upper
parts is tertiary blue–green mixed up with little secondary orange. Despite this, blue–green is still
the predominant color on both upper parts. The bottom left corner is the railing. The right bottom
corner is the floor of the restaurant and the woman with neutral black clothing. In regard to the
details, the outline of the railing is in tertiary red–orange and the railing is in secondary orange.
Among the group of people, the men at the left and the woman in the middle wear primary red and
tertiary red–violet clothing respectively. The major hue of left bottom part is secondary orange,
tertiary red–orange, and tertiary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the placement and size of the figures, the artist successfully creates a visual emphasis.
Viewer's eyes automatically attracted to the larger and dominant figures at the first glance.
Consequently, the focal point is located at the weird woman at the right corner. Her striking facial
expression made the woman stand out among figures and directs the viewer's attention to a center of
interest. It seems to show a complex personality of this

Richard Graff 's Hidden Intellectualism, By Gerald Graff
Contained within Gerald Graff's, "Hidden Intellectualism," are several eye opening ideas. Graff
main point in his essay, is that non–intellectual topics can be written or talked about in an academic
way. Graff uses his past stating that he has street smarts, and that it was a form knowledge. In a way,
he negatively scrutinizes the public education for overlooking the intellect of those who aren 't
skilled academically. One thing that I believe is very fundamental is that he says, "They would be
more prone to take on intellectual identities if we encouraged them to do so at first on subjects that
interest them rather than ones that interest us." He puts it plain and simple that you can take street
topics and make them into intellectual debates. Sport uniforms created by Nike are feats of
technology, football uniforms on the collegiate have reinvented the game. Graff stats, "Sports after
all was full of challenging arguments, debates, problems for analysis." For example, some teams
wear different uniforms every week, how does this impact the way athletes perform. Sometimes the
colors or style someone makes their mental game change. This is a topic that can lead to heated
debates and scientific analysis. One collegiate football team that changes uniforms almost every
week is the The Oregon Ducks. They are always integrating the newest and best technology, which
is designed by Nike to help their players perform better. Oregon is somewhat privileged, because the

Reflection For My Personal Assignment
My theme for my second final piece follows on from my last theme of colour. This piece also
expresses personality through the use of colour, however, I moved away from using colour to form
the portraits and decided to make the background of my final piece to focus on colour and pattern. I
want to create a sense of how my personality is like just by the sight of my drawing and background.
Originally, my idea began with the thought of creating two different pieces. The message I wanted to
convey with this was to show the growth of my personality from then till now. The first piece idea
consisted of a portrait drawing of me as a young child while the background the background would
be either patterns or random painting techniques. The pattern determined how my personality was
like as a young child (for example, a structured background with repeated pattern shows a confident
and determined personality while random mark makings reflect a creative or angry personality). I
wanted this drawing to have smooth pencil strokes to create a pure and soft look to represent my
young age. For my second drawing of me in my represent state, I wanted the pencil strokes (used to
create the drawing) more rough such as cross–hatching strokes technique. The cross hatches will be
a representation of me being more confident in myself as well as how the idea of who I am has
developed to this age.The background for the first drawing applies to the second one also. During
the process of my research, I decided to focus on creating one final piece. The final piece would be
my idea of using drawing myself from a young age that I was and then doing a background pattern
following the design idea I previously mentioned. Throughout this second part of this project, I
researched on mark making drawing techniques from artists such as Rembrandt and Da Vinci.
Rembrandt's marks of his drawing overlap each other many times. Rembrandt focus on using his
marks to create form and tones, while Da Vinci's mark makings are more structured and technical
due to his engineering experience. Davinci's marks mainly arranged in a diagonal order. In addition
to mark making, I researched on drawing techniques used to drawing children with. From that

Blue Alchemy Research Paper
The color of the clear peaceful sky and cool relaxing ocean ; Indigo the color of which is considered
peaceful . After recently watching an documentary "Blue Alchemy" I learned a brief history on how
indigo created a peace around the world . In todays society all most all of our indigo dye produced
are synthetic , but true blue indigo is making a appearance again in small villages and countries
around the world. People are determined to continue the tradition of the true blue, the blue that
started it all. In my reaction essay I would like to highlight the points on whether the labor–intensive
production of "peaceful" indigo is helpful to struggling rural community's. For starters let me go
over a quick review of how indigo is created. Indigo comes from a variety of natural plants from the
genus Indigofera, which contain indican. Most of theses plants were discovered independently
around the world within different time periods. The indican is a colorless, water–soluble derivative
that when is oxidized by exposure to air converts a blue foam indigo. Throughout the world many
countries developed different methods to produce this beautiful dye. Most rural ... Show more

Analyzing Bloch's Painting
Bloch uses both analogous and complementary colors in the artwork to convey a message to make
the artwork standout. The artwork uses analogous colors to a calming view to the artwork and to
emphasize the drowsiness of the passengers. The black color of the man's coat is the same as the
color of the woman headwear sitting right next to him. The dark black of the man's coat in headwear
are analogous to the dark shade of green use as the color of the chairs. The dark black and green
color is analogous to the window's color, as the windows are very dark showing that it is dark
outside. The man sitting on the chair on the left is wearing a brown coat which is analogous in color
to his skin color. The painting also uses complementary colors to make the painting stand out. The
arm board of the chair is a red color which is complementary to the dark blue–green chair. The ...

The faces of the people are giving the light in the picture and are giving the focal point of the image.
This draws the viewers' attention to the face of the two men and the woman as their faces show how
tired they are. The man on the left of the painting has is eyes closed and appears to be sleeping. The
woman has her eyes gently shut and appears to be falling asleep. The man in the middle eyes are
open, but his eyes have bags underneath and his face shows that he is very tired. The background of
the image is shaded out. Nothing can be seen outside the window, because whatever is outside is not
important for the message of the painting. However, the darkness of the window makes it seem like
it is night or late evening which fits into the story the artist is showing. This will make the travelers
seem as if they have either been traveling for a long time, or that the two men are returning from
work. The light and darkness of the artwork shows what is important and how the long day has

My artwork is called "Vistoso." I called my artwork this because vistoso is the Spanish word for
colorful. "Vistoso" fits my artwork because it is a painting of a tree and the backround is a rainbow.
The subject matter is a tree on a rainbow. The tree is the main aspect of my painting it has little
white spots to add an unique detail. The most obvious thing of my my artwork is the tree in the
middle. My artwork is made from both watercolor and acrylic paint. The rainbow is made out of

Analysis Of Florine Stettheimer's Self Portrait With...
This essay will in depth argue that in Self Portrait with Paradise Birds, Florine Stettheimer's visually
apparent and delicate application of scumbling lines, her carefully particularly thought out
application of muted complementary and monochromatic colours, and how she actually makes use
of blurred soft–edged shapes, all for the most part contribute in influencing unity and emphasis
within her self–portrait, giving her painting an overall unearthly ambience.
Florine's visually fairly apparent and delicate application of scumbling lines creates an impression of
unity , which she has achieved through her use of thin , almost translucent lines being layered on top
of each other , which is fairly significant . This technique creates the impactful effect of the
paintings background colours emerging towards the foreground, giving the viewer a visual sense of
interconnectedness that the natural world simply doesn't provide, excluding opaque objects like
glassware sheer curtains as an example. Florine's committed uses of scumbling lines also create a
rather impactful emphasis, in the way in which she applies scumbling lines onto her depiction of
herself. The viewer attention is instantly lured into noticing her self–portraits eerie transparency. As
if though she did not inhabit an earthly body, but instead one of the spiritual realm. It is because of
this visual interconnectedness and eerie transparency captured through her use scumbling lines,
Florine's painting immerses the

Midnight Blue Research Paper
The colors I chose for my family have reasons. I chose the color black for my sister, Tabitha,
because she has a dark personality. She likes to be alone, and not be bothered by anyone. For my
mother on the other hand, I chose Purple Pizzazz. She tries to help everyone at the best of her ability
and take care of my family so I chose a color that popped out and a color that looked important. For
my father I decided on the color Midnight Blue. I think blue is an intelligent and strong color and
my dad's is very smart and strong. For me I could only think of Lime green. Lime Green is a
balanced color but it can also mean envy. I try to stay balanced but sometimes I go over the edge
and that is why I chose Lime Green as my color.

Using Deconstructive Criticism to Analyze an Advertisement...
The average American is exposed to an estimated number of about two–hundred fifty to five
hundred advertisements in a single day. As unrealistic as the statistic seems, it is because most
people are not often aware of the companies attempt to expose their products through an
advertisement to the consumers unless it is one that is personally appealing to themselves. An
advertisement is used to grab the attention of the audience by means of television, radio, internet,
billboards, magazines, and newspapers. Through the use of media, the advertisers usually create the
advertisement to persuade the audience to take an action after viewing the advertisement or they use
the advertisement to manipulate the audience into believing their product is ... Show more content

The tee shirt on the man and the woman are red and pink. Red is a complementary color of green on
a color model, meaning the effect of using these colors together create a vibrant visual in the
viewer's eyes. If the and the woman were both wearing red it would look displeasing to the eye so
they have the woman wear pink instead which still pleases the viewer's eye against the green
background because it is a similar relative color to red. The Newport cigarettes are either blue and
white with highlights of gold or green and white with highlights of gold so they use a lot of similar
colors in their advertisement to represent their product. Not to mention on the color model, blue and
orange are complementary colors.
The body language in the main picture of the man and woman stands out because they use their
genuine, bright smiles to depict pleasure while they enjoy feeding each other a slice of cake. Cake is
a symbolism of fun and happy times which is why the advertisers use cake to portray their happiness
and pleasure. The couple also looks very energetic and eager. This makes the audience appeal to
their product because the audience will believe that they will also feel pleasure from using their
product. The wording in the advertisement is simple and it sends out a message that is depicted
throughout the entire advertisement. Pleasure is synonymous to energy, happiness, brightness, and
enjoyment and the advertisement represents all of

Tooled Ochre
Recently I visited the Transformers exhibition which is currently being held in the Ruth Funk Center
for Textile Arts from September 17th and December 17th. The museum is located on the Campus of
Florida Institute of Technology. The exhibition is curated my China Marks, a contemporary artist,
who has brought together the artwork of four artists. She has chosen; Julie Peppito, Gerry Trilling,
Garry Noland and Jodie Mack. Each has a very different style, but as you progress through the
exhibition it is possible to see how they all link to the title. Tooled Ochre by Gerry trilling is one of
the pieces of artwork which stood out the most for me at the exhibition. From a far the composition

I found it to the most accessible of all of Julie's collection because of its simplicity compared to her
other works. It is quite small, about the size of a computer screen. The background is made of a grey
piece of material with a smaller cream piece of embroidery fabric in the centre. The aspect of this
piece which draws your eye in is the red string which is looped between the two fabrics, linking
them together. The red string merges with a shiny, light blue, rounded bag shaped piece of material
with a delicate yellow thread flower at its base. This then takes your eye onto the embroidered
woman who seems to be carrying a basket of flower and wearing a blue hat and dress. Above her is
a light blue flower with a diagram f planet earth in the centre where the seeds are supposed to be.
The embroidery transforms into the bottom and right side of the page through pencil lines. To the
right of the woman is an oval shaped white piece of cloth with and multi–coloured boarder. Below
the woman the pencil lines create what seems to be legs and then transforms into pipes holding a
dog. The shading of the pencil decreases as the drawing moves down the page and becomes more of
an outline. The contrasting colours of red and blue superimposed on the plain background makes
each element of her composition stand out even more.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind By Michel Gondry
Imagine living in a world where erasing memories of the past was just a night's sleep and a click of
a button; would you take advantage of this opportunity? In the film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless
Mind, directed by Michel Gondry, Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski did. The two ended their
relationship on a bad note which lead Clem to impulsively arrange an operation to zap that memory
away. Joel did the same, but instead of letting go of Clem during his operation, he fell back in love
with her; with this realization, his character developed throughout the film which reflects the color
and mood of each scene and point of his life; Joel in the beginning, Clementine, Joel and
Clementine together, and when Joel and Clementine broke up. Off the bat Joel's bedroom set the
mood to what kind of character he was. Much can be taken from the light that shined into the
bedroom, which felt cold and gloomy; it wasn't a bright, morning sunshine; it was gray. This soft
and dreary lighting was purposely muted to push the mood of depression and loneliness by
reflecting Joel's mood as he starts his day ("Technical Critique of 'Eternal...'"). Everything inside the
room felt cold as well; most of the furniture in his room was shades of neutral colors of blacks,
browns, grays, whites and muted blues. Even Joel's choice of clothing from his navy–blue pajamas
to his ebony, black coat reflected the colors of his room and mood. Joel's depression is very
transparent in the beginning scene.

Brief 1.
Balloons Galore is a website that sells decoration balloons for special events. The website uses a
Triadic colour scheme which is a colour scheme that uses three colours that are spaced out evenly
across the colour wheel. This is a high contrast colour scheme. It uses yellow which is the dominant
colour of the page. This colour is used in our culture represents sunshine and happiness but in many
other cultures such as Russia the colour yellow would be used to represent an insane asylum, they
would call it yellow house. Some parts of Mexico see the shade of yellow(marigold) as an
association with death. Fortunately, this is a website for a British based company, and our perception
to yellow is of happiness and sunshine.
This website appears very bright and probably wasn't made by a professional web developer. The

Essay about Henry Matisse's Madam Matisse: The Green Line
Madam Matisse: The Green Line
Henry Matisse, one of the most influential members of the Fauve movement, was responsible for
much of the attention brought to it and its respective members. One of his works, Madame Matisse:
The Green Line, more or less serves as an excellent example of what he was trying to accomplish in
art: the use of color to express and convey emotions.
The composition of the work consists of a portrait of Madame Matisse in the foreground and a
background divided into several distinct areas of color. The division in the background is apparent in
the juxtaposition of the mauve, orange and blue green, with the foreground divided primarily by the
green strip itself, which runs down the middle of Madam Matisse's ... Show more content on

There is no real light source in the work. However, both sides of Madame Matisse's face seem to be
illuminated by the use of warm, bright colors, as to suggest that maybe there is a fire burning or a
window directly in front her. By the same token, the dark, shaded area behind her and over her left
shoulder is confusing because it also suggests a light source in front of her and to the right, yet there
is no shading on her face to accompany it.
Lines and shapes play an important role in this work because they work together to establish
balance. This is achieved through the use of both geometric and organic shapes, with the organic
representing the figure of the woman and the geometric establishing the background and its division
of color. The lines in the work are both dominant outlines on her shoulders, hair, and left neckline,
and blurred lines like the details on her garments and the contour of her right cheek and chin.
Painting technique can be described as the use of several layers of oil paint on canvas with visible
brush strokes and some texture.
A personal interpretation of the piece reveals a paramount example of Matisse's ability to use color
as an emotional appeal. He is able to convey a love of his wife through the carefully chosen
combination of colors, as well as the different aspects of his wife's personality. The yellow on her
face seems to portray a harder,

Art, Art And Art
Art, one of the most important ways for individuals to express their thoughts and feelings about
things. Painting is one of the many artistic forms used to communicate the aforementioned.
Paintings are often displayed at museums or art galleries in order to allow people to admire them
and analyze their meaning. A painting that is displayed at the Albright–Knox art gallery in Buffalo,
New York is La Vie Paysanne. French–Russian artist, Marc Chagall, painted La Vie Paysanne in the
year 1925. In La Vie Paysanne, the subject matter is the life of the peasants in France. This is
portrayed by the many symbols in the painting, such as the way in which the people are dressed in
very simple garments. The small house represents their humble living style, and the portrayal of the
man feeding the horse shows us the very simple life that peasants lived. In order to achieve a
meaningful work of art, artists often use visual elements as well as principles of design. Visual
elements are what make up a work of art. There are several types of visual elements. Among these
are line, shape, form, space, value, color, and texture. When first examining La Vie Paysanne, we
can find many visual elements. One of the visual elements in the painting is line. For example the
contour lines that define the edges in the house located in the painting. Furthermore, we can see
implied line. Implied line is a line that is not connected and continuous but it can be perceived as

The Color White In The Great Gatsby Analysis
The color white is one of the clearest examples of deceivery in the novel because of its role in
covering up and blurring the truth. Many characters in the novel display this theme. Daisy is most
closely associated to the color white because of her effort to appear innocent and pure. Daisy wears
white clothes and decorates her house in white to hide the scandal and lies that is her real life. Tom
also displays the color white, not through his clothes, but through his behavior. Tom is a raging
racists clearly shown when he says, "if we don't look out for the white races we will be utterly
submerged"(P.13). Tom associates the color white with superiority and dominance not only in
regards to race, but also in regards to money. His pride and ... Show more content on

The color blue is another clear example of the theme of deceptive appearances. The color blue
represents depression, unhappiness, and loneliness. Gatsby's first piece of wealth is a blue coat given
to him by Dan Cody, signifying the beginning of his life as a rich person. In addition, Gatsby's blue
lawn, and blue garden, where he hosts his extravagant parties reveals his sadness and loneliness
everytime Daisy does not show. All of this blue represents an aspect of Gatsby's personality and
identity that he tries to hide. Gatsby is known by the public because of his extravagant parties even
though Gatsby does not attend them. Because of this, everyone speculates on the real identity of
Gatsby. Gatsby has worked hard his entire childhood and development to achieve his dream of
wealth and happiness, yet once he is granted just that he he can not even show his face to those he
aspired to be. Gatsby is constantly held back by his blue life despite his effort to ignore it which is a
clear depiction of a deceiving the world through outward appearances.
Green is one of the best examples of deception in the novel. Green represents all of the things that
Gatsby desires like hope, happiness, money, and Daisy, but is all covered by green envy instead.
One of the most crucial parts of the novel is when Gatsby reaches out from the dock at his house
towards the green light at the end of Daisy's. Gatsby sees a

Popular Art: What Is Pop Art?
What is Pop Art?
Pop art is an art movement that commenced in England during the 60s. The whole idea behind them
was making every day ordinary objects to look more attractive by changing the color schemes to
brighter ones. Pop artists use vibrant and complementary colors to make them stand out. When the
movement had begun in the 60s, it was really popular and so it still has the name.
Pop art usually utilizes very bright colors. It is also drawn in a way that is influenced by comics and
newspaper cartoons. Pop art has recognizable imagery and is drawn from popular media and
products. This type of art is very attractive to the eye which makes it effective and interesting.

Cultural identity in terms of art is when an artist portrays a culture in their art work. I think that
artists can change the way their audience thinks about cultural identity and expression. By arranging
their work in such a way that it has good use of color and designs. To change the audience's thinking
about cultural identity they can depict unity between people of different races which is tied to
cultural identity. By showing unity among different races, the artists can awaken a sense of a good
community to the audience, for them to work together with people of different cultures. To change
the audience's way of thinking about expression, the author can show different types colors used at
different areas on the same picture. That would make the audience understand expression better.

Research of Color Theory Essay
Research of Color Theory
Color fills our world with beauty. We delight in the colors of a magnificent sunset and in the bright
red and golden–yellow leaves of autumn. We are charmed by gorgeous flowering plants and the
brilliantly colored arch of a rainbow. We also use color in various ways to add pleasure and interest
to our lives. For example, many people choose the colors of their clothes carefully and decorate their
homes with colors that create beautiful, restful, or exciting effects. By their selection and
arrangement of colors, artists try to make their paintings more realistic or expressive.

Light is a form of energy that behaves in some ways like waves. Light waves have a range of
wavelengths. A wavelength is the distance between any point on one wave and the corresponding
point on the next wave. Different wavelengths of light appear to us as different colors. Light that
contains all wavelengths in the same proportions as sunlight appears white. See LIGHT.
When a beam of sunlight passes through a specially shaped glass object called a prism, the rays of
different wavelengths are bent at different angles. The bending breaks up the sunlight into a
beautiful band of colors. This band contains all the colors of the rainbow and is called the visible
spectrum. At one end of the spectrum, the light appears as violet. It consists of the shortest
wavelengths of light that we can see. Farther along the spectrum, the light has increasingly longer
wavelengths. It appears as blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, each shading into its neighboring
colors in the spectrum. The longest wavelengths of light that we can see appear deep red in color.
Some descriptions of the spectrum also mention the color indigo, which is closely related to blue,
between violet and blue.
Light waves are a form of electromagnetic waves, which consist of patterns of electric and magnetic
energy. The visible spectrum is only a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum–the

Art Gallery Analysis
The art gallery I visited was the El Paso Museum of Arts on April 8, 2017. After observing a number
of paintings and sculptures, I decided to write an analysis on a rather simple and calm painting. The
composition is by American born Susan Ricker Knox and is entitled Afternoon Tea. The artwork has
no specific date but states it was painted in the 1920s. The medium used is simply oil on canvas. The
overall compositional subject matter is two women, sitting back–to–back, enjoying their hour with
tea. Afternoon Tea by Susan Knox represents a tranquil scene about leisure time that corresponds
with the artwork's line, color, and pose. When I first glanced at this painting, one cannot help but
notice the overall fuzziness of the composition. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of the hues in the piece either lack are tints or shadows, lacking in saturation. Therefore, when
one views this work instead of feeling engulfed or perhaps even overwhelm by the canvas, like
when strong chroma of colors are used, the viewer is relaxed. With the color and brushstrokes, the
composition has a soft and fluffy quality which only adds to the tranquility of the scene. In addition
to the lack of intensity of the hues used in the work, Knox's use of analogous colors supplements the
composition's peaceful nature. The umbrella in the background of the composition has a teal hue and
the plant life in the background as well is a shadowed green. The shadowed green appearing first to
the left of the umbrella, and to the right of the umbrella. The analogous pair aiding in a relaxing the
viewer but also establishing unity through the rhythm of the repeated shadowed green. That unity, in

Synthesis Essay On Blue
A Mixture of Blue and Green: Turquoise
Turquoise: a simple adjective describing something of a greenish–blue pigment. The absolutely
normal color has much more meaning behind itself than what meets the eye. The hybrid color of
blue and green serves as a representation of myself. Symbolically, blue inhabits the peaceful and
tranquil side to turquoise. Green, the envious and diplomatic side to turquoise. By themselves blue
nor green represent me, but as a blend of the two colors my image is represented justly. As blue and
green mix to form turquoise they balance each other out to display an exceptional representation of
myself. Blue: an adjective representative of something of a cool and calming display. According to
psychology, blue acts as the friendly and genuine color. Blue describes my more reserved and
peaceful half. Blue can also be advertised as an authoritative color, but at the same time, honest and
sincere. Much like myself, I may have an authoritative opinion, but I always try to react truthful
towards the situation and sincere of my position. Contrary to the edgier side of blue, it can serve as a
display of reservedness and reliability. Blue can abide in comparison to the quiet kid in the back of
the classroom. Although the classmate may not talk a substantial amount the peer can always obtain

happiness and sympathy, giving light to my "green" side. A color seen for nature and health, also has
an unnurturing half. Envy, a common word associated with green. An evil and dangerous version of

Research Paper On The Milkmaid
The milkmaid is an oil on canvas of 45.5 x 41 cm by the famous Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.
The maid is standing in a plain scullery–type room carefully pouring milk into an earthenware
container sitting on a small table next to a still life arrangement of stale bread pieces and a full bread
basket. From the way that the maid dresses up, I think The Milkmaid prescribes a woman in the
middle class.
The artist uses almost all implied lines. Taking the face of the milkmaid as a starting point, it is
important to focus on the light coming from the window and reflecting directly upon her face in
shadows and pale scales therefore, creating an effect of three–dimensionality. It makes the viewers
focus what the maid is doing: pouring milk. Then we will see a line between the milk vessel and the
bread. I also see a line from the bread basket in the left foreground to the maid's head. These lines
intersect at the maid's wrist, which lead us to the action that she is doing. Other lines in the work are
the window and framework, the edge of the table, the outline of the woman's clothes, and the bottom
of the wall. These implied lines are less important than the line from the maid eyes. If you take a
closer look, you will see a parallel line between the slant of the basket to her diagonal slant of her
arm and head.

Memory: Similarities And Differences Of Memory And Memory
I will be looking at the conceptual and technical similarities, differences and influences between the
artwork of the artists that I researched and my own artwork.
The topic that we were given was that of 5mm moments. From this I decided to look into the
concept of dreams, nightmares and memories and how they can change us into different people.
For my drawing component I drew profile faces because you can never see the true nature of a
person no matter how hard you try. I person is constantly changed and characterised by their
experiences. Dreams nightmares and memories change people through the experience.
I decided to also change what the faces look like throughout the pictures. I decided to do this

Paul Jenkins was a very expressionistic in the way that there was dramatic changes in colour and

supposed to see. There is also no definitive way to look at his artworks.
 An example of his work is "The Archer" which is a painting that is impasto in some areas and the

Francoise Nielly influenced me because she had clean brushstrokes and her paintings just seemed so

Summary Of Dorothea Tanning's Painting Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
The composition I chose was Dorothea Tanning's painting Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. This painting
depicts two girls alone in the hallway of a rundown hotel, playing with the larger than life sunflower
which lays in the middle of the hallway, reaching which the stairwell. What intrigued me first about
this painting was its use of color. The color scheme that Tanning employs is complimentary. As we
know, a complementary color scheme means that two colors that are directly across from each other
on the color wheel are primarily used. In this case, the complementary colors represented in the
painting are red and green. Tanning shows a rich, blood–red color in the carpeting as well as on the
shirt of the girl leaning against the frame of on of the doors. Those deep reds complement the ivy
green color of the hallway walls, the leaves on the large sunflower, and the vines from the flower as
well. Another aspect of color in the painting that pulled me in was the balance of color temperature
that is featured. There are many warm colors featured in this painting which makes the slight pop of
cool colors stand out against each other. Of course, the warm colors Tanning uses in this painting are
the deep reds in the carpeting and shirt, the dark brown of the doors, and the wooden stair flooring
that run down the hall, as well as the eerie yellows featured in the sunflower and mysterious lighting
leaking out into the hall from a slightly cracked door. Meanwhile, the warm colors are met with the
cool whites in the young girls' dresses and skirts. Plus, the frigid greens popping out from the walls
along with the enormous vines and leaves. The greens stand out against the sunny yellows in the
flower and three petals that have fallen from the sunflower, coupled with the deep warm reds that
line the floor.
Additionally, Tanning uses value in this painting to take each component and make it more lifelike
and visually appealing. This is especially notable when looking at the sunflower and the girls. When
focusing on the flower, the petals which stand the highest have a much brighter yellow to them
when compared to the lower petals. This is because the lower petals do not stand in the light, which
causes them to appear darker in

Symbols In Still Life With Bible By Vincent Van Gogh
This is a still life painting, in which Vincent van Gogh selected some everyday objects to express
their symbolic meaning on his drawing. This portrayal describes the setting on a table. It emphasized
a opened big book which placed at the center. The book is thick and the content looks vague, but it
is believed that it is a Bible under the pretext of the portrayal's title, "Still life with Bible". There is
also a candlestick with an extinguished candle next to the Bible and the candle is burnt and
remained part of it. In the foreground, there is a pocketbook. This pocketbook is small and closed
and its cover page appears some alphabets. Besides, the table is covered by a textile or leathery

(BBC, 2014). In fact, van Gogh had suffered numerous bad and unfortunate experiences over his
lifetime. One of the noted occurrence is that van Gogh is slightly different from other impressionists
as he likes using cool colors rather than warm colors in his paintings. This idea is weird in his period
of time and it is contrary to many popular opinions on impressionism and so he made virtually no
money from his portrayals and eventually got mentally ill and depressed, however, van Gogh
believed that beautiful impressionistic art could also be dark art, and so the Still Life with Bible is
one of the artworks to demonstrate his point of views on impressionism. He even need to sell his

family. Although van Gogh was born into a Christian family, he was frustrated when the church
dismissed him because of his unduly eager commitment to his strongly differing belief and faith.

Analysis Of ' Oedipus The King '
Oedipus Cursing His Son, Polynices is a great work of art created by Henry Fuseli, in 1786. This
painting was created in Fuseli's homeland, Zurich, Switzerland. This painting has a powerful and
dramatic purpose to it, and is very interesting to look at.
The media of this painting is oil on canvas, and the paint is used loosely. The loose brushy style of
the paint gives off the style of impressionism that brings the painting together. There is great
historical and cultural context on this painting that refers to Greek mythology. Henry Fuseli 's
dramatic painting depicts an ancient Greek tragedy, King Oedipus discovered a horror that he
murdered his father and married his mother. Oedipus blinded himself in contrition; Upset at his
sons, Oedipus forced them to die in battle by each other 's hand. He extends his arms to curse them,
while Polynices draws back in shame and what is implied as pain from the curse.
As for background information on the artist himself, Fuseli was encouraged by Reynolds in 1768 to
become a painter. Fuseli traveled to Italy in 1770 to seek inspiration. Sculpture, Michelangelo, and
mannerist art inspired him. Fuseli initiated his reputation when he returned to London in 1780. He
dedicated most of his time and effort into paintings of Shakespearean themes, and became the
leading mind of a group of inventive and experimental young artists. He was later elected an
Associate of the Royal Academy of Arts in 1788, a full Academician in 1790, and Professor of

Color Theory Research
Color fills our world with beauty. We delight in the colors of a magnificent sunset and in the bright
red and golden–yellow leaves of autumn. We are charmed by gorgeous flowering plants and the
brilliantly colored arch of a rainbow. We also use color in various ways to add pleasure and interest
to our lives. For example, many people choose the colors of their clothes carefully and decorate their
homes with colors that create beautiful, restful, or exciting effects. By their selection and
arrangement of colors, artists try to make their paintings more realistic or expressive.

See ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES.
Such objects as traffic lights and neon signs appear colored because the light that they give off
contains a limited range of wavelengths. However, most objects appear colored because their
chemical structure absorbs certain wavelengths of light and reflects others. When sunlight strikes a
carrot, for example, molecules in the carrot absorb most of the light of short wavelengths. Most of
the light of longer wavelengths is reflected. When these longer wavelengths of light reach our eyes,
the carrot appears orange.
An object that reflects most of the light of all wavelengths in nearly equal amounts appears white.
An object that absorbs most of the light of all wavelengths in nearly equal amounts appears black.
How we see color
The roles of the eyes and brain. Our ability to see color depends on many highly complicated
workings of the eyes and brain. When we look at an object, light coming from the object enters our
eyes. Each eye focuses the light, forming an image of the object on the retina. The retina is a thin
layer of tissue covering the back and sides of the inside of the eyeball. It contains millions of light–
sensitive cells. These cells absorb most of the light that falls on the retina and convert the light to
electrical signals. These electrical signals then travel through nerves to the brain.
The retina has two main types of

The Color White In The Great Gatsby Analysis
White is one of the clearest examples of deceiver in the novel because of its role in covering up and
blurring the truth. Tom also displays the color white, not through clothes, but through his behavior.
Tom is a raging racists clearly shown when he says, "if we don't look out for the white races we will
be utterly submerged"(P.13). Tom associates the color white with superiority and dominance not
only in regards to race, but also in regards to money. His pride and privileged as a rich white man
blinds him from reality and progression in America. He does not accept the possibility for anyone
other than people like him to be successful and dominant in America.
The colors gold and yellow are one of the clearest examples of misleading appearances. Gatsby
flaunts his "new money" by throwing massive parties hoping to attract Daisy's attention so she will
come back to him. However, Gatsby is not old money like Daisy, and does not see the difference
between him and her. Gatsby's bigger purchases like his car and his house are both very flashy and
ostentatious, which is not the way of "old money". Gatsby's car is bright yellow and makes a
statement, unlike Tom, Daisy's husband's car, which is blue. The fact that Gatsby's car is also yellow
proves that the does not see the difference between "old money" and "new money". Gold and it's
display is one of the strongest differences between old money and new money that creates the
division of classiness and flashiness. Gold is a pure,

not start painting until he was 27. Van Gogh shot himself 10 years after starting his career. In those
10 years van Gogh created more than 2,000 pieces of art. The first two years of van Gogh's career he
was self taught and learned by copying other artists work. He later moved to Paris, then the
Netherlands, Belgium, and back to France. During these years van Gogh experimented with many
different themes in his art. He started with copying prints and then progressed to landscapes. During
the winter of 1884 he painted a series of present life. Van Gogh is most know for his still life
portraits and his nature portraits which he composed while in Arles, France. It is here that he had a
mental breakdown and was hospitalized for slicing his ear. After recovering van Gogh continued to
paint and even used the term "sung a lullaby with color" when describing his paintings. Color was a
main factor in all of van Gogh's work and important to him as he believed that one should learn to
paint in black and white before moving on to color. For this lesson students will focus on van Gogh's
use of colors throughout his career. Van Gogh was very good at using complimentary colors to make
objects and scenes stand out. Complimentary colors are colors directly opposite of each other on the
color wheel. This technique brings attention to the object by making a drastic difference in color.
Children often are drawn to this style of art for its vibrant colors. The two paintings today will draw
interest because of bold use of complimentary

Chiapas Paz Mexico Mural Analysis
The reason I think Chiapas Paz Mexico mural at City Lights bookstore on Jack Kerouac alley is art
because the artist communicates with the viewers by using art theory such as color theory, lines and
shapes, and composition on his mural.
The artist paints a work of art "Chiapas Paz Mexico" which is influenced by the way of life of the
people living in a river valley in Mexico. For the composition, he paints the mural by dividing two
main parts by using flat form style to tell the story. He doesn't show perspective or overlap objects
on the mural. However, the right side of the mural, he paints an unrealistic shape and forms little
village with buildings, trees, hills and people into the background of the mural, making them appear
far away. At the top of mural, there is an army standing above the mountains of the village. The
other interesting part is the old woman at the left side of the mural. She has the biggest portrait on
black the background and is separated from a part of the village by the 3 soldiers. However, there is

The use of geometric shapes in this painting allows the subject to be viewed in both a recognizable
and unrecognizable state at the same time. Overall, geometric shapes and patterns play an essential
role in what the viewer sees, which is further supported by a powerful color palate.
Picasso uses texture and an array of complementary and analogous colors characterized by a range
of hues, values, and light to create a dramatic difference between the two subjects. The dominant
and repetitive colors in the painting are green, yellow, lavender, red, and blue. The use of color,
especially when used with the different geometric shapes, creates both a range of values as well as
contrasts to adjacent areas. The profile and frontal head have lighter values such as yellow and
lavender, whereas the reflection, painted with a rough charcoal texture has a dominance of blue,
especially around the face, reflecting darker values. The use of complementary colors such as red
and green create a brighter canvas, while the use of analogous combinations such as green and
yellow, and green and blue blend well together. Overall, the reds and greens are bright throughout,
giving intensity to the painting while the use of soft blue in the reflection, is not as intense and
warm. Picasso also uses complementary colors of red and green against lavender in the figure to
make the figure prominent. In the reflection, analogous colors are used throughout, but

has an execution scene in the painting, where a group of executioners are killing three men. This
painting also has a dark colour theme – the three main colours that Manet used were dark blue, grey,

because it makes me want to do some research behind the painting and start to analysis the history

Life After Death Analysis
A picture is worth a thousand words. Every person has heard, been told, or even read this quote.
There are those images that attract the eyes immediately with its abstract features and colors. Then
there are the pictures with deep, symbolic messages trying to persuade. However, some images are
made specifically for the purpose to promote someone or a product, and they usually use methods
that guarantee will either be controversial, or popular. For example, in the music industry, the main
purpose is to stand out. One of the music bands that always stand out are Iron Maiden. Derek Riggs,
the artist of most of the band's artwork, created the famous album artwork: Life After Death in 1985.
Many people can see the relation of the dark theme album to the band's dark, heavy rock music.
Derek Rigg was inspired mainly by the main mascot of the band, which is a skeleton, named Eddie.
It is presumably rising from the death, or from its grave with the headstone reading, 'Edward T H':
the mascots full name. The visual analysis includes the complex forms and colors that surround the
dark theme. The colors, setting and tone are the most essential when it comes to the final
understanding of what the image wants to portray.
The main colors of the artwork Life After Death are the complimentary blue and yellow. There is no
other colors, however, the artwork looks like it is full of life and strangely, colorful. The main

Why Minions Sell A Man

  • 1. Why Minions Sell A Man Why Minions Sell A man, his two kids and a lady are standing over a counter making their orders for minions to a group of three staff behind a counter, a lady is approaching and a gentleman is walking away from the counter with a plate of minion. The environment around the minion store is neat with pictures of different tastes of minions and their preferred drinks mounted on the upper part of the counter. The customers are anxiously waiting with the two kids and the lady directly staring at the staff. The minion commercial does not compare itself with other adverts in the market but instead focuses on winning the market for minions by enlightening the customers on the supplementary drinks that best accompany minion and displaying the environment surrounding its consumption. The commercial generally tries to portray minion's dominance in the platform of snacks by using different groups who have embraced its consumption in the society and its influences in the consumption of different complementary drinks. The aim of advertising commercials is to win the interest of different groups in the society. Art Markman who has a PhD and is a professor of Psychology and Marketing at the University of Texas writes in his publication "What Does Advertising Do" that the most powerful effect of advertising is to create a good feeling about a product by surrounding it with other things that consumers like (1). The commercial tries to convince the people that its consumption has been embraced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. International Monetary System And Its Effects On The Economy Worldwide Alternative Currencies Throughout history, economic crises have emerged continuously. According to the International Monetary Fund, in the four decades between 1970 and 2010, there were no fewer than 145 banking crises, 208 monetary crashes, and 72 sovereign debt crises. This adds up to a total of 425 systemic crises across the world (Lietaer 3). These crises are caused because of the way the world monetary system has been set up. With debt being the basics of the current monetary system many local communities have developed new systems to replace or to help stabilize the current fiat currency system. These alternative forms of currencies are usually on a smaller, local scale to help the community balance the unstable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Time Dollars or Time Banking is a relatively new concept that has actually been happening for years. It is the process of exchanging time for time in a small local community. This has actually been happening for years just never in an organized system. People earn Time Dollars by helping others through services or a good. They can then either spend the Time Dollars to get help or a good for themselves or their families, or they can donate their Time Dollars to others in need of help (Cahn 3). An example of this would be in a baker needed help fixing his roof, then a roofer could fix his roof and get Time Dollars for his help. Then the roofer could use the Time Dollars to "purchase" someone else 's time for a good or service he needs done. This allows more and more people to contribute to the community. Therefore making the community more productive and economically stable. Time Banking can help stabilize the economy in small local communities because even if the fiat currency loses its value everybody in the community will still have a service to offer for time (Eisenstein 306). In the United Kingdom they have come up with a much different currency to help stabilize the current currency. The Bristol Pound is a complementary currency to the British pound used in the city of Bristol. It is one of the largest alternative currencies in the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Art And Three Elements Of Art Influence In A Restaurant The painting I will analysis is painting 4. The painting has described the context in a high–end restaurant. Based on the dress code of the guests, I guess this painting is in the past and those people are lords. They are having conservation in the restaurant during leisure. It is noteworthy that some of them wear heavy makeup. Now, I will analysis this painting on three art elements and three principles of design. The most significant element in this painting is color. Color acts as a vital role in many paintings. In this painting, it depicted the atmosphere of the restaurant. Analyzing this painting as a whole picture, I divided it into four corners evenly. The upper left corner is the group of people with two men at the back. The upper right corner is the walls of the restaurant with two women. The hue of both upper parts is tertiary blue–green mixed up with little secondary orange. Despite this, blue–green is still the predominant color on both upper parts. The bottom left corner is the railing. The right bottom corner is the floor of the restaurant and the woman with neutral black clothing. In regard to the details, the outline of the railing is in tertiary red–orange and the railing is in secondary orange. Among the group of people, the men at the left and the woman in the middle wear primary red and tertiary red–violet clothing respectively. The major hue of left bottom part is secondary orange, tertiary red–orange, and tertiary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Richard Graff 's Hidden Intellectualism, By Gerald Graff Contained within Gerald Graff's, "Hidden Intellectualism," are several eye opening ideas. Graff main point in his essay, is that non–intellectual topics can be written or talked about in an academic way. Graff uses his past stating that he has street smarts, and that it was a form knowledge. In a way, he negatively scrutinizes the public education for overlooking the intellect of those who aren 't skilled academically. One thing that I believe is very fundamental is that he says, "They would be more prone to take on intellectual identities if we encouraged them to do so at first on subjects that interest them rather than ones that interest us." He puts it plain and simple that you can take street topics and make them into intellectual debates. Sport uniforms created by Nike are feats of technology, football uniforms on the collegiate have reinvented the game. Graff stats, "Sports after all was full of challenging arguments, debates, problems for analysis." For example, some teams wear different uniforms every week, how does this impact the way athletes perform. Sometimes the colors or style someone makes their mental game change. This is a topic that can lead to heated debates and scientific analysis. One collegiate football team that changes uniforms almost every week is the The Oregon Ducks. They are always integrating the newest and best technology, which is designed by Nike to help their players perform better. Oregon is somewhat privileged, because the co–founder of ... • 9. Reflection For My Personal Assignment My theme for my second final piece follows on from my last theme of colour. This piece also expresses personality through the use of colour, however, I moved away from using colour to form the portraits and decided to make the background of my final piece to focus on colour and pattern. I want to create a sense of how my personality is like just by the sight of my drawing and background. Originally, my idea began with the thought of creating two different pieces. The message I wanted to convey with this was to show the growth of my personality from then till now. The first piece idea consisted of a portrait drawing of me as a young child while the background the background would be either patterns or random painting techniques. The pattern determined how my personality was like as a young child (for example, a structured background with repeated pattern shows a confident and determined personality while random mark makings reflect a creative or angry personality). I wanted this drawing to have smooth pencil strokes to create a pure and soft look to represent my young age. For my second drawing of me in my represent state, I wanted the pencil strokes (used to create the drawing) more rough such as cross–hatching strokes technique. The cross hatches will be a representation of me being more confident in myself as well as how the idea of who I am has developed to this age.The background for the first drawing applies to the second one also. During the process of my research, I decided to focus on creating one final piece. The final piece would be my idea of using drawing myself from a young age that I was and then doing a background pattern following the design idea I previously mentioned. Throughout this second part of this project, I researched on mark making drawing techniques from artists such as Rembrandt and Da Vinci. Rembrandt's marks of his drawing overlap each other many times. Rembrandt focus on using his marks to create form and tones, while Da Vinci's mark makings are more structured and technical due to his engineering experience. Davinci's marks mainly arranged in a diagonal order. In addition to mark making, I researched on drawing techniques used to drawing children with. From that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After recently watching an documentary "Blue Alchemy" I learned a brief history on how indigo created a peace around the world . In todays society all most all of our indigo dye produced are synthetic , but true blue indigo is making a appearance again in small villages and countries around the world. People are determined to continue the tradition of the true blue, the blue that started it all. In my reaction essay I would like to highlight the points on whether the labor–intensive production of "peaceful" indigo is helpful to struggling rural community's. For starters let me go over a quick review of how indigo is created. Indigo comes from a variety of natural plants from the genus Indigofera, which contain indican. Most of theses plants were discovered independently around the world within different time periods. The indican is a colorless, water–soluble derivative that when is oxidized by exposure to air converts a blue foam indigo. Throughout the world many countries developed different methods to produce this beautiful dye. Most rural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 13. Analyzing Bloch's Painting Bloch uses both analogous and complementary colors in the artwork to convey a message to make the artwork standout. The artwork uses analogous colors to a calming view to the artwork and to emphasize the drowsiness of the passengers. The black color of the man's coat is the same as the color of the woman headwear sitting right next to him. The dark black of the man's coat in headwear are analogous to the dark shade of green use as the color of the chairs. The dark black and green color is analogous to the window's color, as the windows are very dark showing that it is dark outside. The man sitting on the chair on the left is wearing a brown coat which is analogous in color to his skin color. The painting also uses complementary colors to make the painting stand out. The arm board of the chair is a red color which is complementary to the dark blue–green chair. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The faces of the people are giving the light in the picture and are giving the focal point of the image. The woman has her eyes gently shut and appears to be falling asleep. The man in the middle eyes are open, but his eyes have bags underneath and his face shows that he is very tired. The background of the image is shaded out. Nothing can be seen outside the window, because whatever is outside is not important for the message of the painting. However, the darkness of the window makes it seem like it is night or late evening which fits into the story the artist is showing. • 17. Analysis Of Florine Stettheimer's Self Portrait With... This essay will in depth argue that in Self Portrait with Paradise Birds, Florine Stettheimer's visually apparent and delicate application of scumbling lines, her carefully particularly thought out application of muted complementary and monochromatic colours, and how she actually makes use of blurred soft–edged shapes, all for the most part contribute in influencing unity and emphasis within her self–portrait, giving her painting an overall unearthly ambience. Florine's visually fairly apparent and delicate application of scumbling lines creates an impression of unity , which she has achieved through her use of thin , almost translucent lines being layered on top of each other , which is fairly significant . This technique creates the impactful effect of the paintings background colours emerging towards the foreground, giving the viewer a visual sense of interconnectedness that the natural world simply doesn't provide, excluding opaque objects like glassware sheer curtains as an example. Florine's committed uses of scumbling lines also create a rather impactful emphasis, in the way in which she applies scumbling lines onto her depiction of herself. The viewer attention is instantly lured into noticing her self–portraits eerie transparency. As if though she did not inhabit an earthly body, but instead one of the spiritual realm. It is because of this visual interconnectedness and eerie transparency captured through her use scumbling lines, Florine's painting immerses the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She tries to help everyone at the best of her ability and take care of my family so I chose a color that popped out and a color that looked important. For my father I decided on the color Midnight Blue. I think blue is an intelligent and strong color and my dad's is very smart and strong. For me I could only think of Lime green. As unrealistic as the statistic seems, it is because most people are not often aware of the companies attempt to expose their products through an advertisement to the consumers unless it is one that is personally appealing to themselves. An advertisement is used to grab the attention of the audience by means of television, radio, internet, billboards, magazines, and newspapers. This makes the audience appeal to their product because the audience will believe that they will also feel pleasure from using their product. I found it to the most accessible of all of Julie's collection because of its simplicity compared to her other works. It is quite small, about the size of a computer screen. The background is made of a grey piece of material with a smaller cream piece of embroidery fabric in the centre. The aspect of this piece which draws your eye in is the red string which is looped between the two fabrics, linking them together. The red string merges with a shiny, light blue, rounded bag shaped piece of material with a delicate yellow thread flower at its base. This then takes your eye onto the embroidered woman who seems to be carrying a basket of flower and wearing a blue hat and dress. Above her is a light blue flower with a diagram f planet earth in the centre where the seeds are supposed to be. The embroidery transforms into the bottom and right side of the page through pencil lines. To the right of the woman is an oval shaped white piece of cloth with and multi–coloured boarder. Below the woman the pencil lines create what seems to be legs and then transforms into pipes holding a dog. The shading of the pencil decreases as the drawing moves down the page and becomes more of an outline. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind By Michel Gondry Imagine living in a world where erasing memories of the past was just a night's sleep and a click of a button; would you take advantage of this opportunity? In the film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, directed by Michel Gondry, Joel Barish and Clementine Kruczynski did. The two ended their relationship on a bad note which lead Clem to impulsively arrange an operation to zap that memory away. Joel did the same, but instead of letting go of Clem during his operation, he fell back in love with her; with this realization, his character developed throughout the film which reflects the color and mood of each scene and point of his life; Joel in the beginning, Clementine, Joel and Clementine together, and when Joel and Clementine broke up. Off the bat Joel's bedroom set the mood to what kind of character he was. Much can be taken from the light that shined into the bedroom, which felt cold and gloomy; it wasn't a bright, morning sunshine; it was gray. This soft and dreary lighting was purposely muted to push the mood of depression and loneliness by reflecting Joel's mood as he starts his day ("Technical Critique of 'Eternal...'"). Everything inside the room felt cold as well; most of the furniture in his room was shades of neutral colors of blacks, browns, grays, whites and muted blues. Even Joel's choice of clothing from his navy–blue pajamas to his ebony, black coat reflected the colors of his room and mood. Joel's depression is very transparent in the beginning scene. ... • 29. Essay about Henry Matisse's Madam Matisse: The Green Line Madam Matisse: The Green Line Henry Matisse, one of the most influential members of the Fauve movement, was responsible for much of the attention brought to it and its respective members. One of his works, Madame Matisse: The Green Line, more or less serves as an excellent example of what he was trying to accomplish in art: the use of color to express and convey emotions. The composition of the work consists of a portrait of Madame Matisse in the foreground and a background divided into several distinct areas of color. The division in the background is apparent in the juxtaposition of the mauve, orange and blue green, with the foreground divided primarily by the green strip itself, which runs down the middle of Madam Matisse's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no real light source in the work. However, both sides of Madame Matisse's face seem to be illuminated by the use of warm, bright colors, as to suggest that maybe there is a fire burning or a window directly in front her. By the same token, the dark, shaded area behind her and over her left shoulder is confusing because it also suggests a light source in front of her and to the right, yet there is no shading on her face to accompany it. Lines and shapes play an important role in this work because they work together to establish balance. This is achieved through the use of both geometric and organic shapes, with the organic representing the figure of the woman and the geometric establishing the background and its division of color. The lines in the work are both dominant outlines on her shoulders, hair, and left neckline, and blurred lines like the details on her garments and the contour of her right cheek and chin. Painting technique can be described as the use of several layers of oil paint on canvas with visible brush strokes and some texture. A personal interpretation of the piece reveals a paramount example of Matisse's ability to use color as an emotional appeal. When a beam of sunlight passes through a specially shaped glass object called a prism, the rays of different wavelengths are bent at different angles. The bending breaks up the sunlight into a beautiful band of colors. This band contains all the colors of the rainbow and is called the visible spectrum. At one end of the spectrum, the light appears as violet. It consists of the shortest wavelengths of light that we can see. Farther along the spectrum, the light has increasingly longer wavelengths. It appears as blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, each shading into its neighboring colors in the spectrum. The longest wavelengths of light that we can see appear deep red in color. The maid is standing in a plain scullery–type room carefully pouring milk into an earthenware container sitting on a small table next to a still life arrangement of stale bread pieces and a full bread basket. From the way that the maid dresses up, I think The Milkmaid prescribes a woman in the middle class. The artist uses almost all implied lines. Taking the face of the milkmaid as a starting point, it is important to focus on the light coming from the window and reflecting directly upon her face in shadows and pale scales therefore, creating an effect of three–dimensionality. It makes the viewers focus what the maid is doing: pouring milk. Then we will see a line between the milk vessel and the bread. I also see a line from the bread basket in the left foreground to the maid's head. These lines intersect at the maid's wrist, which lead us to the action that she is doing. Other lines in the work are the window and framework, the edge of the table, the outline of the woman's clothes, and the bottom of the wall. These implied lines are less important than the line from the maid eyes. If you take a closer look, you will see a parallel line between the slant of the basket to her diagonal slant of her arm and head. • 53. Summary Of Dorothea Tanning's Painting Eine Kleine Nachtmusik The composition I chose was Dorothea Tanning's painting Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. This painting depicts two girls alone in the hallway of a rundown hotel, playing with the larger than life sunflower which lays in the middle of the hallway, reaching which the stairwell. What intrigued me first about this painting was its use of color. The color scheme that Tanning employs is complimentary. As we know, a complementary color scheme means that two colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel are primarily used. In this case, the complementary colors represented in the painting are red and green. Tanning shows a rich, blood–red color in the carpeting as well as on the shirt of the girl leaning against the frame of on of the doors. Those deep reds complement the ivy green color of the hallway walls, the leaves on the large sunflower, and the vines from the flower as well. Another aspect of color in the painting that pulled me in was the balance of color temperature that is featured. There are many warm colors featured in this painting which makes the slight pop of cool colors stand out against each other. Of course, the warm colors Tanning uses in this painting are the deep reds in the carpeting and shirt, the dark brown of the doors, and the wooden stair flooring that run down the hall, as well as the eerie yellows featured in the sunflower and mysterious lighting leaking out into the hall from a slightly cracked door. Meanwhile, the warm colors are met with the cool whites in the young girls' dresses and skirts. Plus, the frigid greens popping out from the walls along with the enormous vines and leaves. The greens stand out against the sunny yellows in the flower and three petals that have fallen from the sunflower, coupled with the deep warm reds that line the floor. Additionally, Tanning uses value in this painting to take each component and make it more lifelike and visually appealing. This is especially notable when looking at the sunflower and the girls. When focusing on the flower, the petals which stand the highest have a much brighter yellow to them when compared to the lower petals. The book is thick and the content looks vague, but it is believed that it is a Bible under the pretext of the portrayal's title, "Still life with Bible". There is also a candlestick with an extinguished candle next to the Bible and the candle is burnt and remained part of it. In the foreground, there is a pocketbook. This pocketbook is small and closed and its cover page appears some alphabets. Besides, the table is covered by a textile or leathery cloth. When it comes to the principles of this artwork, ... One of the noted occurrence is that van Gogh is slightly different from other impressionists as he likes using cool colors rather than warm colors in his paintings. This idea is weird in his period of time and it is contrary to many popular opinions on impressionism and so he made virtually no money from his portrayals and eventually got mentally ill and depressed, however, van Gogh believed that beautiful impressionistic art could also be dark art, and so the Still Life with Bible is one of the artworks to demonstrate his point of views on impressionism. He even need to sell his paintings for money, but still not enough to maintain his daily living and eventually spilt with his family. Although van Gogh was born into a Christian family, he was frustrated when the church dismissed him because of his unduly eager commitment to his strongly differing belief and faith. • 59. Analysis Of ' Oedipus The King ' Oedipus Cursing His Son, Polynices is a great work of art created by Henry Fuseli, in 1786. This painting was created in Fuseli's homeland, Zurich, Switzerland. This painting has a powerful and dramatic purpose to it, and is very interesting to look at. The media of this painting is oil on canvas, and the paint is used loosely. The loose brushy style of the paint gives off the style of impressionism that brings the painting together. There is great historical and cultural context on this painting that refers to Greek mythology. Henry Fuseli 's dramatic painting depicts an ancient Greek tragedy, King Oedipus discovered a horror that he murdered his father and married his mother. Oedipus blinded himself in contrition; Upset at his sons, Oedipus forced them to die in battle by each other 's hand. He extends his arms to curse them, while Polynices draws back in shame and what is implied as pain from the curse. As for background information on the artist himself, Fuseli was encouraged by Reynolds in 1768 to become a painter. Fuseli traveled to Italy in 1770 to seek inspiration. Sculpture, Michelangelo, and mannerist art inspired him. Fuseli initiated his reputation when he returned to London in 1780. He dedicated most of his time and effort into paintings of Shakespearean themes, and became the leading mind of a group of inventive and experimental young artists. He was later elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Arts in 1788, a full Academician in 1790, and Professor of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are all standing tall in the center of the drawing. Around these three characters you will find tall and short flowers along with what looks like weeds. This painting is also done in a vertical matter. To start, in the bottom of this painting you will find weeds and flowers sprouting from the ground and the bottom of the girls dresses. In the middle of this painting you will find the girls along with two birds. One of the two oriental girls is holding a basket of fruit while the other one is holding nothing. All three of the women have good posture as well as what looks like tightly bunched up hair. The hair isn't long and flowing. • 63. Color Theory Research Color fills our world with beauty. We delight in the colors of a magnificent sunset and in the bright red and golden–yellow leaves of autumn. We are charmed by gorgeous flowering plants and the brilliantly colored arch of a rainbow. We also use color in various ways to add pleasure and interest to our lives. For example, many people choose the colors of their clothes carefully and decorate their homes with colors that create beautiful, restful, or exciting effects. By their selection and arrangement of colors, artists try to make their paintings more realistic or expressive. Color serves as a means of communication. In sports, different colored uniforms show which team the players are on. On streets and highways, a red traffic light ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... See ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES. Such objects as traffic lights and neon signs appear colored because the light that they give off contains a limited range of wavelengths. However, most objects appear colored because their chemical structure absorbs certain wavelengths of light and reflects others. When sunlight strikes a carrot, for example, molecules in the carrot absorb most of the light of short wavelengths. Most of the light of longer wavelengths is reflected. When these longer wavelengths of light reach our eyes, the carrot appears orange. An object that reflects most of the light of all wavelengths in nearly equal amounts appears white. An object that absorbs most of the light of all wavelengths in nearly equal amounts appears black. How we see color The roles of the eyes and brain. Our ability to see color depends on many highly complicated workings of the eyes and brain. When we look at an object, light coming from the object enters our eyes. Each eye focuses the light, forming an image of the object on the retina. The retina is a thin layer of tissue covering the back and sides of the inside of the eyeball. It contains millions of light– sensitive cells. These cells absorb most of the light that falls on the retina and convert the light to electrical signals. These electrical signals then travel through nerves to the brain. The retina has two main types of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. The Color White In The Great Gatsby Analysis White is one of the clearest examples of deceiver in the novel because of its role in covering up and blurring the truth. Tom also displays the color white, not through clothes, but through his behavior. Tom is a raging racists clearly shown when he says, "if we don't look out for the white races we will be utterly submerged"(P.13). Tom associates the color white with superiority and dominance not only in regards to race, but also in regards to money. His pride and privileged as a rich white man blinds him from reality and progression in America. He does not accept the possibility for anyone other than people like him to be successful and dominant in America. The colors gold and yellow are one of the clearest examples of misleading appearances. Gatsby flaunts his "new money" by throwing massive parties hoping to attract Daisy's attention so she will come back to him. However, Gatsby is not old money like Daisy, and does not see the difference between him and her. Gatsby's bigger purchases like his car and his house are both very flashy and ostentatious, which is not the way of "old money". Gatsby's car is bright yellow and makes a statement, unlike Tom, Daisy's husband's car, which is blue. The fact that Gatsby's car is also yellow proves that the does not see the difference between "old money" and "new money". Gold and it's display is one of the strongest differences between old money and new money that creates the division of classiness and flashiness. Gold is a pure, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vincent van Gogh had a short career of only 10 years. Being born in 1853 he did not start painting until he was 27. Van Gogh shot himself 10 years after starting his career. In those 10 years van Gogh created more than 2,000 pieces of art. The first two years of van Gogh's career he was self taught and learned by copying other artists work. He later moved to Paris, then the Netherlands, Belgium, and back to France. During these years van Gogh experimented with many different themes in his art. He started with copying prints and then progressed to landscapes. During the winter of 1884 he painted a series of present life. Van Gogh is most know for his still life portraits and his nature portraits which he composed while in Arles, France. It is here that he had a mental breakdown and was hospitalized for slicing his ear. After recovering van Gogh continued to paint and even used the term "sung a lullaby with color" when describing his paintings. Color was a main factor in all of van Gogh's work and important to him as he believed that one should learn to paint in black and white before moving on to color. For this lesson students will focus on van Gogh's use of colors throughout his career. Van Gogh was very good at using complimentary colors to make objects and scenes stand out. Complimentary colors are colors directly opposite of each other on the color wheel. This technique brings attention to the object by making a drastic difference in color. Children often are drawn to this style of art for its vibrant colors. The two paintings today will draw interest because of bold use of complimentary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chiapas Paz Mexico Mural Analysis The reason I think Chiapas Paz Mexico mural at City Lights bookstore on Jack Kerouac alley is art because the artist communicates with the viewers by using art theory such as color theory, lines and shapes, and composition on his mural. The artist paints a work of art "Chiapas Paz Mexico" which is influenced by the way of life of the people living in a river valley in Mexico. For the composition, he paints the mural by dividing two main parts by using flat form style to tell the story. He doesn't show perspective or overlap objects on the mural. However, the right side of the mural, he paints an unrealistic shape and forms little village with buildings, trees, hills and people into the background of the mural, making them appear far away. At the top of mural, there is an army standing above the mountains of the village. The other interesting part is the old woman at the left side of the mural. She has the biggest portrait on black the background and is separated from a part of the village by the 3 soldiers. However, there is a rainbow ribbon connecting two parts together and the woman is a starting point of the rainbow. The rainbow ribbon shows the movement from the old woman to the river at the bottom right and continues moves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Girl before a Mirror Girl before a Mirror, an oil on canvas painting by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, shows two sides of a girl; one which is illustrated with a dark tone and one with a vibrant colorful tone. This painting is bright; colors are at full intensity and are arranged next to their complements, producing a visual relationship between shape and form. Forms are used to draw the viewer's eye across the canvas where circular shapes, repeating throughout the work, are compensated by the pattern of diagonal lines of the background. The viewer observes the girl's profile and full frontal image, looking into a mirror and noticing a different image of herself. In order to achieve this effect, Picasso uses a range of formal elements that highlight the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of geometric shapes in this painting allows the subject to be viewed in both a recognizable and unrecognizable state at the same time. Overall, geometric shapes and patterns play an essential role in what the viewer sees, which is further supported by a powerful color palate. Picasso uses texture and an array of complementary and analogous colors characterized by a range of hues, values, and light to create a dramatic difference between the two subjects. The dominant and repetitive colors in the painting are green, yellow, lavender, red, and blue. The use of color, especially when used with the different geometric shapes, creates both a range of values as well as contrasts to adjacent areas. The profile and frontal head have lighter values such as yellow and lavender, whereas the reflection, painted with a rough charcoal texture has a dominance of blue, especially around the face, reflecting darker values. The use of complementary colors such as red and green create a brighter canvas, while the use of analogous combinations such as green and yellow, and green and blue blend well together. Overall, the reds and greens are bright throughout, giving intensity to the painting while the use of soft blue in the reflection, is not as intense and warm. Picasso also uses complementary colors of red and green against lavender in the figure to make the figure prominent. A Image: A Identification: A Paste your image here or attach printout. Name of Artist: Édouard Manet Title of Art Work: Execution of Emperor Maximilian Date Created: 1867 to 1869 Medium: Oil on canvas (painting) Paragraph 1 – Initial Response: Before you begin your research, what do you think this art work might be about? K T C What is your first thought when viewing this work? The first thought when I viewed this work was this painting is about conflict and execution. It has an execution scene in the painting, where a group of executioners are killing three men. This painting also has a dark colour theme – the three main colours that Manet used were dark blue, grey, and yellow. What about the work engages (attracts, challenges, provokes) you, or what about it disengages (disgusts, frustrates, disinterests) you? The conflict scene in the painting attracts me, because it makes me want to do some research behind the painting and start to analysis the history of 19th century. The detail of the upper part of the painting frustrates me, because there are not many details on the painting. The viewers do not know what is happening up there. Manet also uses many colour for that part, therefore it makes the upper part becomes messy and hard to understand. What do you already know about this work of art, artist, or style? • 77. Life After Death Analysis A picture is worth a thousand words. Every person has heard, been told, or even read this quote. There are those images that attract the eyes immediately with its abstract features and colors. Then there are the pictures with deep, symbolic messages trying to persuade. However, some images are made specifically for the purpose to promote someone or a product, and they usually use methods that guarantee will either be controversial, or popular. For example, in the music industry, the main purpose is to stand out. One of the music bands that always stand out are Iron Maiden. Derek Riggs, the artist of most of the band's artwork, created the famous album artwork: Life After Death in 1985. Many people can see the relation of the dark theme album to the band's dark, heavy rock music. Derek Rigg was inspired mainly by the main mascot of the band, which is a skeleton, named Eddie. It is presumably rising from the death, or from its grave with the headstone reading, 'Edward T H': the mascots full name. The visual analysis includes the complex forms and colors that surround the dark theme. The colors, setting and tone are the most essential when it comes to the final understanding of what the image wants to portray. The main colors of the artwork Life After Death are the complimentary blue and yellow. There is no other colors, however, the artwork looks like it is full of life and strangely, colorful.
