Introduction
Governments currently show great interest in sport mega–events investment since that they may
have the opportunity to stimulate economic development, create international image and prestige,
generate a 'feel–good' factor among citizens and inspire grassroots participation (Grix and
Carmichael, 2012). Moreover, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) states that their critical
mission is 'to promote a positive legacy from the Olympic Games to the host countries'
(International Olympic Committee, 2007, p.15), although legacy is hard to define or measure and
could be both positive and negative in practice (Agha, et al. 2012). In particular, emerging states like
China, South Africa and Brazil have managed to bid for the Olympics or the World Cup. The use of
hosting sport mega–events to enhance their soft power and achieve equal positions in global affairs
has been highlighted in recent years (Grix and Lee, 2013).
However, the effect of sport mega–events has been challenged, questioning whether to host these
events or not (Lauermann, 2015). As Chalip points out, host countries may fail to make preparations
for the staging of sport mega–events and encounter the risk of soft disempowerment. Meanwhile,

Ai Weiwei, a Chinese contemporary artist as well as a political activist was born in Beijing on May
18, 1957. When Ai was only one year old him and his family were sent to a labor camp. It was not
for sixteen years later at the end of the Cultural Revolution until his family moved back to Beijing.
He studied animation at the Beijing Film Academy in 1978. After his studies he spent about twelve
years in the United States and studied at the Parsons School of Design where he soon dropped out.
For income he became a street artist, doing drawings on the side. When his father had become sick
in 1993, Ai returned to Beijing from New York City. He then became the artist director and co–
founder of the China Art Achieves and Warehouse. This is about the time when some controversial

studio house. This is when he founded the FAKE design, which is an architectural studio. Ai's

The Importance Of The National Anthem
The decision, made by Colin Kaepernick and a handful of other NFL players, to kneel or sit down
during the playing of the American Nation Anthem is an immature and disrespectful gesture to this
country and to our flag. There are better more respectful ways to protest and put out word about
your cause. While it is our first amendment right to not stand up for the National Anthem, it is my
opinion that kneeling for the flag shows disrespect for this country, our armed forces, and the flag
itself.
The flag has a section of code in the U.S. law books called the flag code. This was adopted on June
14, 1923, by the National Flag Conference which Navy and Army representatives attended. Title 4
chapter 1 section 9 states, "All other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with
their right hand over the heart, or if applicable, remove their headdress with their right hand and
hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart." While there are no legal repercussions to
violating these codes, it shows a great disrespect to the flag and to the country. This section of code

At this time rules weren't written in hard ink, it was just a game played by children for fun. The bat
was called the battledore, and the birdie was known as the shuttlecock. Players were supposed to hit
the shuttlecock with the bat and keep it in the air as long as possible, and the object of the game was
to keep it from touching the ground. Badminton was very popular in India, called poona in the
eighteen hundreds. This game also became popular in England, due to British soldiers bringing it
from India. This game was widely played by the duke and other high class people. When brought to
England it was renamed badminton. Badminton got its name because the Duke's house was called
Badminton. Years later their was a dispute over whether the Indian or the British rules were correct,

Hosting the Olympic Games is a massive risk that cities all around the world are willing to take.
While many people assume that hosting the Games is a way out a debt, it can also be just the
opposite. There are many factors that contribute to the overall success and failure of hosting the
Olympics. For one, the results differ between cities. Cities within countries that are more
economically stable seem to profit from hosting more than cities in countries that are less developed
and economically stable. Hosting the Summer versus Winter Games can also impact the end results.
In general, the Summer Olympics tend to make a more significant impact, as they are more popular
