4. Combine Videos and Clips
● Up to 50 clips and 500 images can be added to a project
● Select the clip you want to use and click the ‘+’ sign in the top
right hand corner to add it, or simply drag it to your timeline.
● Resize the timeline with the scroll wheel on a mouse or the
magnifying glass slider on the bottom right corner.

5. Trimming Clips
● To trim a clip, select it and drag the handle at the beginning
or end to trim. This will shorten the clip at the start and/or
end of your video.
● Use the “nudge” arrows on the black bars for fine tune
adjustments of tenths of a second.

6. Cutting or Splitting Clips
● To cut or split a clip, select it and click on the scissors.
Move the line to where you want to cut or split the clip and
click to complete.

7. Adding Transitions Between Clips
● Click the transitions button in the editor, and drag a
transition of your choice between two clips in the timeline.
● Click on the transition to adjust length of time and/or other
properties like the direction of the transition.

8. Adding Text or Titles to Your Video
● Click the text button in the editor, and drag a text overlay of
your choice to the clip you want text to appear on
● Tip: Text will appear over the whole clip, and there is no
way to adjust time, so split a clip to the length of time you
want and add text to that!

9. Enhancing Photos and Videos
● Select the clip that you would like to enhance and look for
the enhancement window in the top right corner.
● Adjust brightness, contrast, and apply video filters. Slow
motion is possible up to ⅛ original speed.

10. Rotating Photos and Videos
● Select the clip that you would like to rotate and click the
rotate arrows in the enhancements menu
● Click the arrows to rotate clips 90 degrees at at time, to the
left or right.

11. Adjusting the clip volume
● To adjust the audio level of an individual video, click the
clip to select it and move the volume slider up or down.
● For some clips you may want no audio, for others you will.
Try to normalize your volume over the length of the video.

12. Adding Music
● Music tracks can be added to your video project, but it has
to be music from the YouTube music library
● Find the track you want and click the ‘+’ icon, or drag to the
project timeline

13. Adjusting Music Tracks
● The length of music tracks can be adjusted. You can trim
the end or the beginning by moving the sliders left and
right.
● Music tracks can not be split or cut in the middle, or even
faded in and out. You can, however, add multiple tracks.

14. Save and Publish
● Projects are automatically saved, and can be edited
repeatedly until published. Click the blue Publish button in
the top right hand corner of the screen when finished.
● Published videos can not be edited in the YouTube editor,
but they can be remixed or copied to make a new video.

15. Even More!
● Once your video is published you can go to the Video
Manager and edit any video in your channel
● Additional options here include face blurring, closed
captions, and pop-up annotations.
