2. Download the latest Free version of CCleaner from a trusted
site like CNET. Enter words like CCleaner, CNET, Free download.
Click on this hyperlink in green to access the software.

3. Your browser will take you to this trusted CNET site.
Click on the green Download Now button to access the
software. Do not bother with any other promotional links.

4. In less than a minute, you should get this dialog box prompting
you to save the file to a predefined location on your PC.
If you don’t see that message, then click on the “restart the
download” hyperlink like the one below.

5. Your computer will save the
executable setup file and may look
like this when completely
downloaded.
Double click on this ccsetup . exe
file to begin the installation.

6. After double clicking on the CCleaner exe file, you
will see this 1st page of the Setup. Click on Next.

7. On this page, uncheck the 2 middle boxes related to
the Recycle Bin & click on Next

8. Uncheck the box that would install Chrome as your
default browser – no required. Click on Install.

9. Uncheck the 2 boxes and click on Finish.
This will place a CCleaner icon on your desktop.
Double click on it to start the program

10. CCleaner opens in this form. Start with Cleaner (sweeper) tab.
Click Analyze to find all temp files, cookies, & unnecessary files

11. You will get this message the first time you run
Analyze. Place a check in the box so it doesn’t
show in the future. Click on Yes.

18. CCleaner asks if you want to backup changes made to the
Registry just in case you ever need to go back. Click on Yes.
Click on Save with the default name and location assigned.

individual issues

21. CCleaner has other Tools that come in handy. One can
Uninstall specific programs completely.

Startup when Windows boots up. This Tool is there
for more experienced users to use.

23. With your PC clean using the Cleaner & Registry tabs, you
can close out the program, clicking the upper right corner X.
You will then see the note below on the desktop lower right
corner. Click on OK Thanks to make it disappear.
Run CCleaner anytime you feel it needs a tune-up.
