How Does Mark Twain Use Comic Irony In Huckleberry Finn
Authors have a tendency to convey more serious, sincerely plot points through comic ironies. Mark
Twain is among these intelligent, thought–provoking writers who able to efficiently use irony as an
effective tool to illustrate serious points. Huckleberry Finn, one of the many literary pieces created
by the first true american novelist Mr. Twain, is an exemplar of his use of comic irony to
deliberately force the reader to think about serious ideas. The novel, filled with comic irony that
Mark Twain intentionally used, pushed serious ideas through subtle ways; Huck switches roles with
other important characters alluding to the attitude Americans had towards the Civil War.
Unfortunately, Twain's messages through the use of irony might seem so insignificant to the reader
that the point is often overlooked and not caught by the audience. Twain skillfully uses comic irony
to subtly compare Huck's relationship with Jim to America's attitude towards slavery. Throughout
the book Jim and Huck create a special bond between each other and they are always looking out for
the others best interest. Each member of this unique friendship was confined to certain parameters;
they have a specific job in the relationship. Jim, the adult runaway slave, took on a more dominant
role in the relation when he constantly was searching for Huck when the adolescent white boy who
often goes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This notion of amusement over knowledge was one of the key factors leading to the unsuccessfully
understanding of the author's purpose. Huckleberry Finn's world–wide successes has led to
intelligent, creative individuals grasping Twain's "coded" messages through irony. However,
common people who are not necessarily on the lookout for a deeper meaning can easily overlook the
primary the message. Also, with Twain's subtly in comic irony, it was not uncommon for even those
on the hunt for deeper meanings to miss

Using Adaptive Response Surface Regression
3 Methodology
The developed optimisation routine makes use of adaptive response surface regression to use a
limited initial amount of FE models to feed an optimisation routine which is specifically designed
for general thermal problems where parameters linked to the general heat equation can be optimised
or estimated using experimental input data. The algorithm uses a pan and zoom function to move
through the design space and delivers faster predictions with fewer iterations than standard updating
routines [35, 41].
3.1 Adaptive response surface method
The adaptive response surface optimisation routine is used to optimise numerical models with lots of
data points and the time reducing by the algorithm increases as the number of parameters rises [40].
The routine is designed to handle multiple–output time series data [35]. The optimisation procedure
can be divided into the following steps:
1. Starting reference simulation points is running and a correct object function is built of the
difference between the FE model and the target value (experiment or validation model).
2. The FE model is replaced by a meta–model of response surfaces to decrease the optimisation time
but remains an accurate approximation.
3. The optimisation routine is run on a specific object function. It is possible to use multiple
objective functions or build an objective function related to multiple outputs.
4. The estimated parameter values are used as input parameters for a new FE model that

Abstract:
Today, problem solving is no longer an exclusive responsibility of those occupying the executive
Suite. As new and complex business challenges become further, everyone in the organization
isaccountable of solving workplace problems. Problem solving and decision making in an
organization contain many elements. Effective problem solvers identify the value of structurally
controlled problem–solving methods to promote discipline and increase the chance for achievement.
Problems must initially be defined before an investigation of the causes can begin. This paper
mainly describes the importance of problem solving and decision making for an organization and
how to resolve them. It also discusses about steps in problem solving and decision making, nature of
difficulties in modern work places, developing and estimating alternative solutions.
Introduction:
Problem solving and decision–making are important skills for any company.

Benefits Of Students Taking Introductory Physics Classes
The Problem of Problem Solving A common claim for the benefits of students taking introductory
physics classes is that students are taught essential problem solving skills. The skills that students
learn in these classes can be transferred, thus enabling them to be better problem solvers across the
board. Is this truly what is happening, though? Unfortunately, students' thought processes in general
about solutions to physics problems is entirely formula–centered with the objective being to
determine some unknown mathematical quantity (Van Heuvelen, 1991). Students are typically
taught to solve well–structured problems (Jonassen, 2003). These problems with clear starting and
ending points and a definite, structured solution path are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Cognitive Science of Information Processing and Retrieval
Working Memory Through their examination of a multitude of studies centered around two
prominent theories of working memory, Honig theory and Braddely and Hitch Theory, Becker and
Morris (1999) generally define working memory "...as a system of interacting components that
maintain newly acquired and reactivated stored information, both verbal and nonverbal, and make it
available for further information processing" (p. 1). Essentially, the working memory is what
processes the information that's at the front of someone's mind; it's the words, equations, and
pictures that form a running dialog that is their active thought process. The working memory has a
limited capacity of 7 ± 2 items (Miller, 1956), and this limitation is key to understanding a primary
difference between expert and novice problem solvers.
Chunking
The differences between expert and novice chess players have been studied extensively. The primary
difference between these two groups resides in the expert's ability to hold a greater combination of
movement positions and piece relationships within their working memory. This is not due to an
expert's increased memory capacity, but rather their ability to encode this information into
perceptual chunks (Chase & Simon 1973).
For example, one chunk of a novice player may contain a single move of a single piece whereas an
expert player's chunk

Rainsford In Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game
When in a complicated situation, it can get you to be a better problem solver. This idea is
demonstrated by the protagonist and very well developed hunter, Rainsford, in the short story "The
Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell that being stuck on Ship Trap Island to fight for
survival against the antagonist, General Zaroff, is difficult if you don't think deep and clear. This is
demonstrated in a part in the story, for example, towards the end of the story when Rainsford is in a
situation where General Zaroff was getting closer to finding him, causing him to think really deeply
about his past experiences and think deep within him. Rainsford proves throughout the story that he
is an intelligent, confident, and a curious type of man.
Rainsford proves many traits throughout the story, but out of all of them, the one that he presents
often, is that he is a very intelligent man. This trait is seen throughout the story when Rainsford is
stumped with no clue as to what to do while being hunted by General Zaroff. When he finally
decides to use his own knowledge, "Rainsford had dug himself in France when a second's delay
meant death" (Connell 56). From that quote we can catch on that Rainsford is a very intelligent man
because while being hunted he managed to think and use his own experience to survive the hunt. ...

An example of this is when Rainsford and his friend, Whitney, were talking about how the world is
in general. After talking about how the world is, Rainsford then states that, "The world is made up of
two classes– the hunters and the huntees" (Connell 40). This quote states that Rainsford is a very
confident man when it comes to hunting, we know this because on page 40 he states that the

kinds of courses in different educational fields, which means I can fully study education in a more
systematical way. I believe that with extensive learning, I can acquire solid knowledge about

My Five Themes Essay
My five themes are consistency, restorative, relator, strategic, and responsibility. Relator is enjoying
close relationships with people. Also, being able to feel what others are feeling. Strategic is being
able to create an alternative way to do things. Also, finding the best path, or way to do things.
Responsibility is being able to take psychological ownership of what I do. Also, taking the lead in
anything I do. Restorative means that I can find other ways to do things if one way doesn't work out.
This helps me be a great problem solver. Consistency means that you treat all people the same no
matter what. This also means I'm consistent with my work. I think that consistency had affected my
life the most. I treat everyone the same, regardless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I don't have this one, but I think working with someone who has this strength would be great
because they will always try to make peace, and avoid chaos in any situation that may occur in the
office. I also think having the strength adaptability would be a great strength to have because you
can adapt to any problems that may happen, and solve it quickly and calmly. Futurism is a great trait
to have! You look into the future, and tend to plan ahead. This could come in handy when working
in a medical office because you are always looking ahead to the next day, or even the next week!
Working with someone who has futuristic as a trait would be good for me, because this is not one of
my traits. In order to create a good team, you'll need someone who is thinking of the future and
keeping that in mind. I think you and I have a lot of strengths in common! However, one trait that
you have that I think would come in handy in a medical office, or any job in general, would be
discipline. I think this is a good trait because you know that you have to do things by a certain time,
and you will do anything to make sure you get your work done. I like to believe I am pretty
disciplined, but I could do some work on

The Steps Of Bradsford's IDEAL Model
In the 20th century, educators have dedicated their attention to trying to define and teach problem
solving skills. In the early 1900s, problem solving was viewed as a mechanical, systematic, and
often abstract set of skills, such as those used to solve riddles or mathematical equations. The given
problems often have correct answers that are based on logical solutions with a single correct answer.
Under the guidance of cognitive learning theories, problem solving shifted to represent a complex
mental activity consisting of a variety of cognitive skills and actions. Problem solving included
higher order thinking skills such as "visualization, association, abstraction, comprehension,
manipulation, reasoning, analysis, synthesis, generalization–each ... Show more content on

Mayer suggested three characteristics of problem solving: (1) Problem solving is cognitive but is
inferred from behavior, (2) Problem solving results in behavior that leads to a solution, (3) Problem
solving is a process that involves manipulation of or operations on previous knowledge (Funkhouser
and Dennis, 1992). Gick's Problem Solving Model. One frequently–used model of the problem
solving process is used by Gick (1986). This model identifies a basic sequence of three cognitive
activities in problem solving: (1) Representing the problem includes calling up the appropriate
context knowledge, and identifying the goal and the relevant starting conditions for the problem. (2)
Solution search includes refining the goal and developing a plan of action to reach the Goal, and (3)
Implementing the Solution includes executing the plan of action and evaluating the results. Krulick's
Steps of Problem Solving. Krulick and Rudnick (1996) suggested five stages of problem solving and
these are (1) reading and thinking, (2) analyze and planning, (3) organizing strategy, (4) getting the
answer, and (5) confirmation of the

have to be like this. The problem of water scarcity is a rising one. As more people put ever–
increasing requests on limited supplies, the cost and effort to build or even maintain entry to water

Romeo And Juliet Character Analysis
More than 400 years after it was written, the play Romeo and Juliet remains to be one of few literary
works in which the characters it contains are still analyzed. Shakespeare integrates multiple
functions for each character, most which fall below the superficial role of the character. In Romeo
and Juliet, Shakespeare uses the character Benvolio not only as a confidant to Romeo, but also as a
rational voice of reasoning to Romeo and giver of advice to him, a general peacemaker, and a
problem solver throughout the play. Benvolio is initially shown to be a confidant to Romeo when he
sympathetically responds to Romeo's predicament "[a]las, that love, so gentle in his view, [s]hould
be so tyrannous and rough in proof!" (1.1.162–163). This response also shows Benvolio to be a
rational voice of reason to Romeo, as he attempts to try and relieve Romeo's sorrow. Benvolio then
continues to give Romeo the advice to move on and stop thinking about Rosaline, after Romeo
expresses her intent to remain chaste (1.1.212–219). Benvolio is further supported as a giver of
advice during these actions, where he explicitly offers Romeo rational advice in an attempt to make
the situation better. Later in the play, Benvolio is further supported as a confidant when he tells
Romeo to flee the area following him killing Tybalt, in order to ensure that he will not be killed
(3.1.128–131). This action also further expresses Benvolio as a giver of advice to Romeo, and a
rational voice of reasoning.

Essay on Is a Manager a Learder?
There are varying interpretations of the differences between leaders and managers. Many people say
that they are quite similar while other say they are not even in the same league. The latter definition
is quite accurate according to Marlene Caroselli's Leadership Skills for Managers. Mangers are
known as people who direct workflow and manager what people do and when they do it. As liaisons
between employees and upper management, their responsibilities do not end with just what work is
done. They are responsible to employees and "wear many different hats" (Caroselli, p. 2, 2000).
Leaders on the other hand are different breed of people. The basic definition of a true leader is
someone who motivates his or her subordinates to do something ... Show more content on

This exemplifies him as a visionary leader because it showed his soldiers firsthand that he was there
instead of staying behind the scenes, which seemed to be the precedent for military generals at the
time.
Leader as a Problem Solver People who are in leadership positions are often put there for numerous
reasons. The military uses a combination of competence as well as time in service. You can have the
possibility of your first line supervisor being 21 years old with three years in service or close to 40
years old with 10 years of service holding the same rank. On paper, these leaders hold the same
rank, are paid similarly, and are expected to hold the same level of competence. As employees in
corporations move up the career ladder, they are expected to have attained a level of competence to
solve problems of the subordinates under their charge. Being a problem solver in a leadership
position is not merely making a few phone calls and asking someone else for the answer. Problem
solving is a higher level of thinking that involves looking deeper than what is truly being asked.
(Roussell, 2013)
An example is a food service worker stating that they are slowing running out of a particular product
and that there are not enough supplies to cover the store for the day. Most people would hear that
problem and immediately converge on the idea that they need to get more of the product because
they want to satisfy the customers and make a profit. A leader would ask, "Why is this

Thomas Midgley: The Worst Inventor In History
The Worst Inventor In History
Thomas Midgley tremendously impacted modern times. He had over 100 patents in his lifetime. He
was a phenomenal problem solver and a remarkable scientist who perfected the inventions from
many other minds and created contraptions that are now an essential part of our everyday lives. He
began his inventing at an early age and had a successful career. His work was appreciated by the
ordinary family for bringing them such useful inventions as cars and refrigerators. Despite all of the
things on his lengthy and impressive résumé he has been labeled "The Worst Inventor In History".
Thomas Midgley Jr. was born on May 18, 1889 into an average middle class family in Beaver Falls,
Pennsylvania and began inventing at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His boss Charles F. Kettering had a case land on his desk, or rather had a knock at the door of the
lab to correct a problem in the internal combustion engines of GM cars. A problematic knocking.
The combusting inside the engine, the tiny explosion of fuel and spark that moved the intricate
pieces of the engine caused a knocking, which was catastrophic to the engine, and to business.
General Motors commissioned the lab to correct this problem, to build a more reliable engine so that
families would consider purchasing their cars. Out of every chemist in the lab Thomas Midgley was
the first to solve the case. It took him six years. Going block by block, column to column, row to
row on a periodic table that he kept tucked away in his wallet, Midgley discovered that if he added
tetraethyllead to gasoline the knock dissipated. His invention took the world by storm and GM
created The Ethyl Corporation in 1921 and named Thomas Midgley the vice president. The next
year at the Indianapolis Five Hundred the top three finishing cars ran on leaded gasoline. General
Motors began mass producing tetraethyllead. The first plant was built in Deepwater New Jersey. The
first to go mad was Harry Zanes. On September 9, 1923. He began seeing butterflies, inside the
dark, damp factory. Fluttering and flitting their wings. tickle his hands while he was working. He
began having nightmares, twitching, loss of appetite. Things took a turn for the worse when he
became violent. He was put into a straight jacket. He survived, but was never the same again. He
was among the three hundred that had fallen ill. Frank "Happy" Durr was the first one to die, he also
went mad. A few that went mad became so violent that they needed to be institutionalized. It was a
miserable way to die. What Thomas Midgley, what the government didn't know then was that lead,

Romeo And Juliet Character Analysis
Romeo and Juliet is a play about forbidden love, feuds of families and ultimately death. This play
has withstood the test of time and has proven to contain true morals that are applicable to even
today's society. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses the character Benvolio not only as a
confidant to Romeo, but also as a rational voice of reasoning to Romeo and giver of advice to him, a
general peacemaker, and a problem solver throughout the play. Benvolio is initially shown to be a
confidant to Romeo when he sympathetically responds to Romeo's distraught "[a]las, that love, so
gentle in his view, [s]hould be so tyrannous and rough in proof!" (1.1.162–163). This response also
demonstrates Benvolio being a ration voice of reasoning to Romeo, as it attempt to try and relieve
his sorrow. Benvolio then continues to give Romeo the advise to move on and stop thinking about
Rosaline, after Romeo expresses her intent to remain chaste (1.1.212–219). Benvolio is further
supported as a giver of advice during these actions, where he explicitly offers Romeo rational advice
in attempt to make the situation better. Later in the play, Benvolio is further supported as a confidant
when he tells Romeo to flee the area following him killing Tybalt, in order to ensure he will not be
killed (3.1.128–131). This action also further expresses Benvolio as a giver of advice to Romeo, and
a rational voice of reasoning. This is based on him giving Romeo advise that is not only rational
given the situation, but also beneficial to Romeo.
Beginning from the very start of the play, Benvolio's character is portrayed as a peacemaker. When a
street fight breaks out between the servants of the Capulets and the Montagues, Benvolio
immediately attempts to put a stop to the fight. His actions can be seen when Benvolio states "I do
but keep the peace. Put up thy sword, [o]r manage it to part these men with me" (1.1.61–61). Later
in the play, Benvolio is still characterized as a peacemaker when he tries to prevent the fight
between Tybalt and Mercutio. Seeing that a fight is likely going to arise, Benvolio tells Mercutio to
hold off and move out of the public eye, in attempt to prevent the fight from occuring (3.1.46–49).
Benvolio is also shown to

Artificial Intelligence, Theory And Development Of...
Artificial intelligence, theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that
would normally require human intelligence, such as speaking, decision–making etc. When most
people think of artificial intelligence (Al), they think of the robots from the movie Chappie, or I,
Robot. Those are some examples of what AI could lead to but that is not exactly it. The idea of
intelligent machines go back to Greek mythology. The origin of AI can be described as philosophers
who tried to explain human thinking as a significant system. However, the field of Al wasn't
properly found until 1956, in a conference in Dartmouth College in New Hampshire where the term
Al was first used. Since then Ideas have been exchanged and introduced through literature and
recently movies. Living with such intelligence will transform our lives and remodel the way we live.
Early examples of Al include the first game playing program, The General Problem Solver (GPS),
etc. Arthur Samuel created the first game playing computer in 1952 that could gain skills and beat a
world champion in checkers. The General Problem Solver was created in 1957 by Newell, Shaw,
and Simon. It was a computer program that had a purpose of solving any problem that could be
expressed as a set of well–formed formulas. The first industrial robot company, Unimation was
founded in 1962. The industrial robot worked in the General motors assembly line. In 1963, a
program called ANALOGY that was written by Thomas Evans, could

General Skills : Interpersonal Skills
General Skills: Interpersonal skills Interpersonal skills are the life skills we use every day to
communicate and cooperate with other people, both individually and in groups. Interpersonal skills
include everything from communication and listening skills to attitude and department. Good
interpersonal skills are important for many positions in an organization. The benefits of
interpersonal skill are that we can build personal relationships, professional relationships and even
share the work load between other people. You will need a clear and friendly telephone manner in a
Tec support job which means you will be spending an important amount of time on the phone. The
customers on the other end of the line can 't see your smile or your body language, so it 's important
that you can take an outgoing and passionate personality through your voice alone. Also you have to
be remained professional, respectful and you should be very confident on what you are dealing with
on the telephone. Problem Solving Problems are at the center of what many people do at work every
day. Whether you 're solving a problem for a client (internal or external), backup those who are
solving problems, or learning new problems to solve, the problems you face can be large or small,

Testing Is A Viable Software Verification Technique
Abstract–Although Concolic testing is increasingly being explored as a viable software verification
technique, its adoption in mainstream software development and testing in the industry is not yet
extensive. In this paper, we discuss challenges to widespread adoption of Concolic testing in an
industrial setting and highlight further opportunities where Concolic testing can find renewed
applicability.

I. INTRODUCTION
The growing complexity of today's software demands sophisticated software analysis tools and
techniques to enable the development of robust, reliable and secure software. Moreover, increasing
usage of third party libraries or plugins where source code is not readily available presents
additional challenges to effective software testing [11]. The cost to fix bugs prior to releasing the
software is often times much lower than the cost to fix bugs post release, especially in the case of
security bugs. A number of automated software testing tools and techniques are commonly used in
the industry. While automation significantly reduces the overhead of manual testing, finding deeply
embedded security defects is not always automatable. Furthermore, automated software testing is
prone to false positives or false negatives. Hence, there is a burgeoning need to advance the state of
the art in software testing. In this context, Concolic testing is

Steps For Solving Problem Solving
(1)Steps for "problem solving"– Problem identification: Despite the fact that business issues as a
broken bit of apparatus or an angry client are promptly evident, numerous issues present themselves
in a more unobtrusive design. For instance, if an association 's general deal is expanding, however,
its rate of piece of the overall industry is declining, there is no consideration snatching occurrence to
demonstrate that an issue exists. In any case, the critical thinking system is still useful in dissecting
the present situation and adding to an administration, mediation to manage the firm toward the
future fancied state. Problem verification: The measure of assets that ought to be committed to
check will fluctuate incredibly, relying on how the issue itself is shown. In the event that the issue is
direct and very much characterized, just a superficial level of check may be proper. Be that as it
may, numerous business issues are perplexing and badly characterized. These circumstances may be
like the instance of a doctor who is going up against with a patient that has self–analyzed his
restorative condition. Problem definition: The following stride in critical thinking is to formally
characterize the issue to be tended to. This is a transaction between the people tasked with taking
care of the issue and the people who over–see their work. Basically, the gatherings need to go for a
concurrence on what an answer to the issue will resemble. Alternative generation: When the

Origins Of Action Research
Chapter 3 describes the origins of action research and the different methods, steps, and types of
action research to use. The first point that really stood out to me was the explanation of action
research attitude. Johnson and Christensen (2017) define this attitude when, "you take on the
attitude of a practitioner and a researcher and you think about how you can improve your workplace,
try new strategies, and determine the consequences" (p.58). As a teacher, the root of this attitude and
mindset is something that I do on a daily basis. I am constantly trying to find ways to improve my
classroom and the overall school itself. However, action research requires more than having this
attitude, and utilizing research to work towards a solution is something that I have slowly started to

Dewey was an advocate for S–O–R psychology and inserted the thinking and acting organism into
the stimulus–response (S–R)psychology (p.60). He believed that humans are not separate from our
environments and that our environments affect us and we affect our environments. As humans, we
adapt to situations around us and therefore can be problem solvers. Dewey referred to himself as an
instrumentalist and believed that people should try new approaches and situations to determine
which method or actions could best solve a problem or issue (Johnson and Christensen, 2017, p.61).
The Deweyan inquiry outlined this concept in five phases, describing what to look for and observe
when discovering a problem, and the questions that need to be asked and answered through

virtues and limitations that warriors can experiment during their careers. LeMay was the product of
his era, an effective problem solver for the war devoted to the defense of his country and an

In fact, it can be considered that could result in a depletion of his combat power. However, his
excellent background as a navigator and pilot gave him freedom of action from his chain of
command, and his reasoning was convincing. Besides, he took the lead position to test his tactics
and inspire his airmen.
LeMay's tactics were bold but also resulted from experience: it was necessary a straight and level
run to the release point to align the target in the sight for optimum accuracy. During the flight, the
aircraft were in a close and staggered formation to get the more coverage from their guns against
attacking fighters. It was acceptable to take some losses and put bombs on target instead of returning
to attack again. Moreover, if there were no need to repeat the attack, less Americans would have to
risk their lives. Ultimately, this matched his priorities of mission accomplishment with the
protection of his men. His morale courage resulted in his group putting more bombs on target with
fewer losses than other groups. After his successful bombing raids over France and Germany, he
tested his methods again in other theater of war.

The Invention Of Artificial Intelligence
The idea that machines and technology can, and are, becoming "intelligent" is a scary thought.
Throughout the history of technology, there has been a steady increase in the capabilities of
software, and much research has gone into how these capabilities can be used to "better" our lives.
In our lives today, we all use some form of Artificial Intelligence daily. Some of these activities
include: using cellular apps (Google Maps, Siri, Cortana), playing video games, and listening to
music. Although the use of Artificial Intelligence has made human life more efficient and effective,
it has also insinuated reliance and unsuspecting ignorance into our minds as well, and we do not
even see it coming. The history of Artificial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mission statement that was developed during the conference stated, "Every aspect of learning or
other feature of intelligence can, in principle, be so precisely described that a machine can be made
to simulate it." As a result of the Dartmouth summer research project, The General Problem Solver
was born. Created by Herbert Simon, J.C. Shaw, and Allen Newell, the general problem solver
originated as a theory of human program, specifically "a program that stimulates human thought".
The basis of the general problem solver was to use general logic and algorithms to solve common
sense problems. Initially, it could only be used in "well–defined" problems, basically proving
theorems that had already been created. Although with the introduction of the personal computer in
the 1980s and the evolution of smart devices, Artificial intelligence has become practically a daily
necessity in our lives today. By the current year 2017, Artificial Intelligence has grown much larger
than simply The General Problem Solver. Technologists now differentiate between AI and ML
(Machine Learning) when considering intelligence. While artificial intelligence is the broader way
of describing a machine being able to complete a task using human input, machine learning is
specifically a division of artificial intelligence in which computers can self–learn without the need
for human programming. In simplest terms, the goal of machine learning is to

Transformational Leadership
Strategies to Achieve Vision for Professional Success in a Leadership Role
Being interconnected with others enriches us as humans and leaders, and maintaining positive and
enriching relationships is my fundamental strategy for personal and professional success. Whatever
we say or do to others, whether on personal or professional levels, has impact on them. Deciding on
using words and demonstrating actions that can have positive effect upon others, either by
empowering them to go beyond their comfort zone or encouraging them to believe in themselves
and their own impact, opens the possibility of transformation. In my opinion, the idea of
transformational leadership goes beyond work related functions. First, there must be the areas of
transformation that need to occur for us as individuals. For instance, Pallota (2012) ... Show more

Global Finite Element Matrix Construction Based on a...
Introduction
Many physical phenomena in stationary condition such as electrical and magnetic potential, heat
conduction, fluid flow and elastic problems in static condition can be described by elliptic partial
differential equations (EPDE). The EPDE does not involve a time variable, and so describes the
steady state of problems. A linear EPDE has the general form as presented in Eq. (1), where a,b,c are
coefficient functions, the term f is a source (excitation) function and u is the unknown variable. All
of this function can vary spatially (x,y,z).
∇(c∙∇u)+b∙∇u+au=f (1)
EPDE can be solved exactly by mathematical procedures like Fourier series [1]. However, the
classical solution frequently no exists and for those problems where is possible the use of these
analytical methods, many simplifications are done [2]. Consequently, several numerical methods
have been developed to efficiently solve EPDE such as the finite element method (FEM), finite
difference and others.
The FEM have several advantages over other methods. The main advantage is that it is particularly
effective for problems with complicated geometry using unstructured meshes [2]. One way to get a
suitable framework for solving EPDEs by using FEM is formulate them as variational problems also
called weak solution.
The variacional formulation of an EPDE is a mathematical treating for converting the strong
formulation to a weak formulation, which permits the approximation in elements or subdomains,
and the EPDE

Introduction This paper will introduce critical thinking and creative problem solving with an
emphasis on the latter. In doing so, it will attempt to describe any similarities and differences
between the two. Critical thinking is the process of rationally analyzing and attempting to solve a
problem accurately without guessing. The first step in critical thinking is to understand the problem
thoroughly which will allow you to restate the problem in different ways to learn about it and other
related issues and where to look for possible solutions. Critical thinking is the general cognitive skill
of determining the best answer when there is not one correct answer. Critical thinking is a trainable

Vertical thinking is thinking with mental operations that move in a straight line up and down
between higher and lower level concepts. Where lateral thinking is looking in alternate directions to
define and interpret a problem and thus a solution. Vertical thinking is like convergent thinking in
that it seeks a single correct solution. Lateral thinking is similar to divergent thinking in that it seeks
alternate solutions by going around the obvious and taking a different path. Component Approach
Sternberg's component approach views a lateral move in thinking will bring a shift in point of view
brought on by degrees of freedom from a sideways move from the one–dimensional linear mode of
thinking. The three elements of Sternberg's theory are; knowledge acquisition, planning and decision
making. Davidson, Deuser, and Sternberg used the component approach in a problem solving
approach with four processes which are; finding and defining the problem, mentally representing the
problem, planning how to solve the problem, and evaluating performance on the problem. Each of
these processes benefit from lateral thinking. Self–Efficacy Self–efficacy is the belief in one's ability
to organize and execute the actions necessary to manage a situation ("What Is Self–Efficacy?", n.d.).
Self–efficacy allows divergent thinking because cognitive limits are not set in place. Metaphors A
metaphor is an example in which the unfamiliar is expressed in terms of

How Does Mark Twain Use Comic Irony In Huckleberry Finn

  • 1. How Does Mark Twain Use Comic Irony In Huckleberry Finn Authors have a tendency to convey more serious, sincerely plot points through comic ironies. Mark Twain is among these intelligent, thought–provoking writers who able to efficiently use irony as an effective tool to illustrate serious points. Huckleberry Finn, one of the many literary pieces created by the first true american novelist Mr. Twain, is an exemplar of his use of comic irony to deliberately force the reader to think about serious ideas. The novel, filled with comic irony that Mark Twain intentionally used, pushed serious ideas through subtle ways; Huck switches roles with other important characters alluding to the attitude Americans had towards the Civil War. Unfortunately, Twain's messages through the use of irony might seem so insignificant to the reader that the point is often overlooked and not caught by the audience. Twain skillfully uses comic irony to subtly compare Huck's relationship with Jim to America's attitude towards slavery. Throughout the book Jim and Huck create a special bond between each other and they are always looking out for the others best interest. Each member of this unique friendship was confined to certain parameters; they have a specific job in the relationship. Jim, the adult runaway slave, took on a more dominant role in the relation when he constantly was searching for Huck when the adolescent white boy who often goes ... Huckleberry Finn's world–wide successes has led to intelligent, creative individuals grasping Twain's "coded" messages through irony. However, common people who are not necessarily on the lookout for a deeper meaning can easily overlook the primary the message. Also, with Twain's subtly in comic irony, it was not uncommon for even those on the hunt for deeper meanings to miss ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Using Adaptive Response Surface Regression 3 Methodology The developed optimisation routine makes use of adaptive response surface regression to use a limited initial amount of FE models to feed an optimisation routine which is specifically designed for general thermal problems where parameters linked to the general heat equation can be optimised or estimated using experimental input data. The algorithm uses a pan and zoom function to move through the design space and delivers faster predictions with fewer iterations than standard updating routines [35, 41]. 3.1 Adaptive response surface method The adaptive response surface optimisation routine is used to optimise numerical models with lots of data points and the time reducing by the algorithm increases as the number of parameters rises [40]. The routine is designed to handle multiple–output time series data [35]. The optimisation procedure can be divided into the following steps: 1. Starting reference simulation points is running and a correct object function is built of the difference between the FE model and the target value (experiment or validation model). 2. The FE model is replaced by a meta–model of response surfaces to decrease the optimisation time but remains an accurate approximation. 3. The optimisation routine is run on a specific object function. It is possible to use multiple objective functions or build an objective function related to multiple outputs. 4. The estimated parameter values are used as input parameters for a new FE model that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Problem Solving And Decision Making Problem solving& Decision making in Industrial Management Table of content Content page no Abstract Introduction Problem solving Problem solving framework Problem identification Problem verification Problem definition Root cause analysis Aalternative generation Evaluation of alternatives Implementation Post–implementation review Institutionalization and control Decision making Steps involve in decision making Example of problem solving Conclusion References Abstract: Today, problem solving is no longer an exclusive responsibility of those occupying the executive Suite. As new and complex business challenges become further, everyone in the organization isaccountable of solving workplace problems. Problem solving and decision making in an organization contain many elements. Effective problem solvers identify the value of structurally controlled problem–solving methods to promote discipline and increase the chance for achievement. Problems must initially be defined before an investigation of the causes can begin. This paper mainly describes the importance of problem solving and decision making for an organization and how to resolve them. It also discusses about steps in problem solving and decision making, nature of difficulties in modern work places, developing and estimating alternative solutions. Introduction: Problem solving and decision–making are important skills for any company.

  • 22. Benefits Of Students Taking Introductory Physics Classes The Problem of Problem Solving A common claim for the benefits of students taking introductory physics classes is that students are taught essential problem solving skills. The skills that students learn in these classes can be transferred, thus enabling them to be better problem solvers across the board. Is this truly what is happening, though? Unfortunately, students' thought processes in general about solutions to physics problems is entirely formula–centered with the objective being to determine some unknown mathematical quantity (Van Heuvelen, 1991). Students are typically taught to solve well–structured problems (Jonassen, 2003). These problems with clear starting and ending points and a definite, structured solution path are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Cognitive Science of Information Processing and Retrieval Working Memory Through their examination of a multitude of studies centered around two prominent theories of working memory, Honig theory and Braddely and Hitch Theory, Becker and Morris (1999) generally define working memory "...as a system of interacting components that maintain newly acquired and reactivated stored information, both verbal and nonverbal, and make it available for further information processing" (p. 1). Essentially, the working memory is what processes the information that's at the front of someone's mind; it's the words, equations, and pictures that form a running dialog that is their active thought process. The working memory has a limited capacity of 7 ± 2 items (Miller, 1956), and this limitation is key to understanding a primary difference between expert and novice problem solvers. Chunking The differences between expert and novice chess players have been studied extensively. The primary difference between these two groups resides in the expert's ability to hold a greater combination of movement positions and piece relationships within their working memory. This is not due to an expert's increased memory capacity, but rather their ability to encode this information into perceptual chunks (Chase & Simon 1973). For example, one chunk of a novice player may contain a single move of a single piece whereas an expert player's chunk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Rainsford In Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game When in a complicated situation, it can get you to be a better problem solver. This idea is demonstrated by the protagonist and very well developed hunter, Rainsford, in the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell that being stuck on Ship Trap Island to fight for survival against the antagonist, General Zaroff, is difficult if you don't think deep and clear. This is demonstrated in a part in the story, for example, towards the end of the story when Rainsford is in a situation where General Zaroff was getting closer to finding him, causing him to think really deeply about his past experiences and think deep within him. Rainsford proves throughout the story that he is an intelligent, confident, and a curious type of man. Rainsford proves many traits throughout the story, but out of all of them, the one that he presents often, is that he is a very intelligent man. This trait is seen throughout the story when Rainsford is stumped with no clue as to what to do while being hunted by General Zaroff. When he finally decides to use his own knowledge, "Rainsford had dug himself in France when a second's delay meant death" (Connell 56). From that quote we can catch on that Rainsford is a very intelligent man because while being hunted he managed to think and use his own experience to survive the hunt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is when Rainsford and his friend, Whitney, were talking about how the world is in general. After talking about how the world is, Rainsford then states that, "The world is made up of two classes– the hunters and the huntees" (Connell 40). This quote states that Rainsford is a very confident man when it comes to hunting, we know this because on page 40 he states that the WORLD is made up of hunters and ... Also, being able to feel what others are feeling. Strategic is being able to create an alternative way to do things. Also, finding the best path, or way to do things. Responsibility is being able to take psychological ownership of what I do. Also, taking the lead in anything I do. Restorative means that I can find other ways to do things if one way doesn't work out. This helps me be a great problem solver. Consistency means that you treat all people the same no matter what. This also means I'm consistent with my work. I think that consistency had affected my life the most. I treat everyone the same, regardless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I don't have this one, but I think working with someone who has this strength would be great because they will always try to make peace, and avoid chaos in any situation that may occur in the office. I also think having the strength adaptability would be a great strength to have because you can adapt to any problems that may happen, and solve it quickly and calmly. Futurism is a great trait to have! You look into the future, and tend to plan ahead. This could come in handy when working in a medical office because you are always looking ahead to the next day, or even the next week! Working with someone who has futuristic as a trait would be good for me, because this is not one of my traits. In order to create a good team, you'll need someone who is thinking of the future and keeping that in mind. I think you and I have a lot of strengths in common! However, one trait that you have that I think would come in handy in a medical office, or any job in general, would be discipline. I think this is a good trait because you know that you have to do things by a certain time, and you will do anything to make sure you get your work done. We started the interview with introductions and pleasantries. Mr. Anderson was encouraged to become a candidate for election to the Virginia House of Delegates after retiring from 30 years of active duty service in the United States Air Force in 2009. Mr. Anderson's 30 years of military service taught him how to manage multiple task that are complex in nature. It also taught him how to prioritize his work, his goals and to care for others. • 42. The Steps Of Bradsford's IDEAL Model In the 20th century, educators have dedicated their attention to trying to define and teach problem solving skills. In the early 1900s, problem solving was viewed as a mechanical, systematic, and often abstract set of skills, such as those used to solve riddles or mathematical equations. The given problems often have correct answers that are based on logical solutions with a single correct answer. Under the guidance of cognitive learning theories, problem solving shifted to represent a complex mental activity consisting of a variety of cognitive skills and actions. Problem solving included higher order thinking skills such as "visualization, association, abstraction, comprehension, manipulation, reasoning, analysis, synthesis, generalization–each ... Mayer suggested three characteristics of problem solving: (1) Problem solving is cognitive but is inferred from behavior, (2) Problem solving results in behavior that leads to a solution, (3) Problem solving is a process that involves manipulation of or operations on previous knowledge (Funkhouser and Dennis, 1992). Gick's Problem Solving Model. One frequently–used model of the problem solving process is used by Gick (1986). This model identifies a basic sequence of three cognitive activities in problem solving: (1) Representing the problem includes calling up the appropriate context knowledge, and identifying the goal and the relevant starting conditions for the problem. (2) Solution search includes refining the goal and developing a plan of action to reach the Goal, and (3) Implementing the Solution includes executing the plan of action and evaluating the results. Krulick's Steps of Problem Solving. Krulick and Rudnick (1996) suggested five stages of problem solving and these are (1) reading and thinking, (2) analyze and planning, (3) organizing strategy, (4) getting the answer, and (5) confirmation of the ... Romeo And Juliet Character Analysis More than 400 years after it was written, the play Romeo and Juliet remains to be one of few literary works in which the characters it contains are still analyzed. Shakespeare integrates multiple functions for each character, most which fall below the superficial role of the character. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses the character Benvolio not only as a confidant to Romeo, but also as a rational voice of reasoning to Romeo and giver of advice to him, a general peacemaker, and a problem solver throughout the play. Benvolio is initially shown to be a confidant to Romeo when he sympathetically responds to Romeo's predicament "[a]las, that love, so gentle in his view, [s]hould be so tyrannous and rough in proof!" (1.1.162–163). This response also shows Benvolio to be a rational voice of reason to Romeo, as he attempts to try and relieve Romeo's sorrow. Benvolio then continues to give Romeo the advice to move on and stop thinking about Rosaline, after Romeo expresses her intent to remain chaste (1.1.212–219). Benvolio is further supported as a giver of advice during these actions, where he explicitly offers Romeo rational advice in an attempt to make the situation better. Later in the play, Benvolio is further supported as a confidant when he tells Romeo to flee the area following him killing Tybalt, in order to ensure that he will not be killed (3.1.128–131). • 78. Essay on Is a Manager a Learder? There are varying interpretations of the differences between leaders and managers. Many people say that they are quite similar while other say they are not even in the same league. The latter definition is quite accurate according to Marlene Caroselli's Leadership Skills for Managers. Mangers are known as people who direct workflow and manager what people do and when they do it. As liaisons between employees and upper management, their responsibilities do not end with just what work is done. They are responsible to employees and "wear many different hats" (Caroselli, p. 2, 2000). Leaders on the other hand are different breed of people. The basic definition of a true leader is someone who motivates his or her subordinates to do something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This exemplifies him as a visionary leader because it showed his soldiers firsthand that he was there instead of staying behind the scenes, which seemed to be the precedent for military generals at the time. Leader as a Problem Solver People who are in leadership positions are often put there for numerous reasons. The military uses a combination of competence as well as time in service. You can have the possibility of your first line supervisor being 21 years old with three years in service or close to 40 years old with 10 years of service holding the same rank. On paper, these leaders hold the same rank, are paid similarly, and are expected to hold the same level of competence. As employees in corporations move up the career ladder, they are expected to have attained a level of competence to solve problems of the subordinates under their charge. Being a problem solver in a leadership position is not merely making a few phone calls and asking someone else for the answer. Problem solving is a higher level of thinking that involves looking deeper than what is truly being asked. (Roussell, 2013) An example is a food service worker stating that they are slowing running out of a particular product and that there are not enough supplies to cover the store for the day. Most people would hear that problem and immediately converge on the idea that they need to get more of the product because they want to satisfy the customers and make a profit. Kettering had a case land on his desk, or rather had a knock at the door of the lab to correct a problem in the internal combustion engines of GM cars. A problematic knocking. The combusting inside the engine, the tiny explosion of fuel and spark that moved the intricate pieces of the engine caused a knocking, which was catastrophic to the engine, and to business. General Motors commissioned the lab to correct this problem, to build a more reliable engine so that families would consider purchasing their cars. Out of every chemist in the lab Thomas Midgley was the first to solve the case. It took him six years. Going block by block, column to column, row to row on a periodic table that he kept tucked away in his wallet, Midgley discovered that if he added tetraethyllead to gasoline the knock dissipated. His invention took the world by storm and GM created The Ethyl Corporation in 1921 and named Thomas Midgley the vice president. The next year at the Indianapolis Five Hundred the top three finishing cars ran on leaded gasoline. General Motors began mass producing tetraethyllead. This action also further expresses Benvolio as a giver of advice to Romeo, and a rational voice of reasoning. This is based on him giving Romeo advise that is not only rational given the situation, but also beneficial to Romeo. Beginning from the very start of the play, Benvolio's character is portrayed as a peacemaker. When a street fight breaks out between the servants of the Capulets and the Montagues, Benvolio immediately attempts to put a stop to the fight. His actions can be seen when Benvolio states "I do but keep the peace. Put up thy sword, [o]r manage it to part these men with me" (1.1.61–61). Later in the play, Benvolio is still characterized as a peacemaker when he tries to prevent the fight between Tybalt and Mercutio. Artificial intelligence, theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that would normally require human intelligence, such as speaking, decision–making etc. When most people think of artificial intelligence (Al), they think of the robots from the movie Chappie, or I, Robot. Those are some examples of what AI could lead to but that is not exactly it. The idea of intelligent machines go back to Greek mythology. The origin of AI can be described as philosophers who tried to explain human thinking as a significant system. However, the field of Al wasn't properly found until 1956, in a conference in Dartmouth College in New Hampshire where the term Al was first used. Since then Ideas have been exchanged and introduced through literature and recently movies. Living with such intelligence will transform our lives and remodel the way we live. Early examples of Al include the first game playing program, The General Problem Solver (GPS), etc. Arthur Samuel created the first game playing computer in 1952 that could gain skills and beat a world champion in checkers. The General Problem Solver was created in 1957 by Newell, Shaw, and Simon. It was a computer program that had a purpose of solving any problem that could be expressed as a set of well–formed formulas. The first industrial robot company, Unimation was founded in 1962. Testing Is A Viable Software Verification Technique Abstract–Although Concolic testing is increasingly being explored as a viable software verification technique, its adoption in mainstream software development and testing in the industry is not yet extensive. In this paper, we discuss challenges to widespread adoption of Concolic testing in an industrial setting and highlight further opportunities where Concolic testing can find renewed applicability. Keywords – concolic testing; security testing; dynamic analysis; pre–silicon validation; malware analysis; firmware testing; I. INTRODUCTION The growing complexity of today's software demands sophisticated software analysis tools and techniques to enable the development of robust, reliable and secure software. Moreover, increasing usage of third party libraries or plugins where source code is not readily available presents additional challenges to effective software testing [11]. The cost to fix bugs prior to releasing the software is often times much lower than the cost to fix bugs post release, especially in the case of security bugs. A number of automated software testing tools and techniques are commonly used in the industry. While automation significantly reduces the overhead of manual testing, finding deeply embedded security defects is not always automatable. Furthermore, automated software testing is prone to false positives or false negatives. Hence, there is a burgeoning need to advance the state of the art in software testing. The first point that really stood out to me was the explanation of action research attitude. Johnson and Christensen (2017) define this attitude when, "you take on the attitude of a practitioner and a researcher and you think about how you can improve your workplace, try new strategies, and determine the consequences" (p.58). As a teacher, the root of this attitude and mindset is something that I do on a daily basis. I am constantly trying to find ways to improve my classroom and the overall school itself. However, action research requires more than having this attitude, and utilizing research to work towards a solution is something that I have slowly started to utilize. ... He believed that humans are not separate from our environments and that our environments affect us and we affect our environments. As humans, we adapt to situations around us and therefore can be problem solvers. Dewey referred to himself as an instrumentalist and believed that people should try new approaches and situations to determine which method or actions could best solve a problem or issue (Johnson and Christensen, 2017, p.61). The Deweyan inquiry outlined this concept in five phases, describing what to look for and observe when discovering a problem, and the questions that need to be asked and answered through observation, reflection, and ... • 136. General Curtis Lemay : An Effective Leader And Problem Solver General Curtis LeMay is one of the iconic figures of the United States Air Force. A war hero and experimented pilot, he was able to succeed where many others failed and his triumphs underpinned the emergence of the independent Air Force. However, his leadership case presents examples of virtues and limitations that warriors can experiment during their careers. LeMay was the product of his era, an effective problem solver for the war devoted to the defense of his country and an advocate of the massive use of force. His believes affected him when the great powers competed in the Cold War and he failed to adapt to the new environment. In fact, it can be considered that could result in a depletion of his combat power. However, his excellent background as a navigator and pilot gave him freedom of action from his chain of command, and his reasoning was convincing. Besides, he took the lead position to test his tactics and inspire his airmen. LeMay's tactics were bold but also resulted from experience: it was necessary a straight and level run to the release point to align the target in the sight for optimum accuracy. During the flight, the aircraft were in a close and staggered formation to get the more coverage from their guns against attacking fighters. It was acceptable to take some losses and put bombs on target instead of returning to attack again. Moreover, if there were no need to repeat the attack, less Americans would have to risk their lives. Ultimately, this matched his priorities of mission accomplishment with the protection of his men. His morale courage resulted in his group putting more bombs on target with fewer losses than other groups. After his successful bombing raids over France and Germany, he tested his methods again in other theater of war. LeMay's toughts on the protracted and bloody war against Japan were purely realists "It was a long drawn out war. • 140. The Invention Of Artificial Intelligence The idea that machines and technology can, and are, becoming "intelligent" is a scary thought. Throughout the history of technology, there has been a steady increase in the capabilities of software, and much research has gone into how these capabilities can be used to "better" our lives. In our lives today, we all use some form of Artificial Intelligence daily. Some of these activities include: using cellular apps (Google Maps, Siri, Cortana), playing video games, and listening to music. Although the use of Artificial Intelligence has made human life more efficient and effective, it has also insinuated reliance and unsuspecting ignorance into our minds as well, and we do not even see it coming. The history of Artificial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mission statement that was developed during the conference stated, "Every aspect of learning or other feature of intelligence can, in principle, be so precisely described that a machine can be made to simulate it." As a result of the Dartmouth summer research project, The General Problem Solver was born. Created by Herbert Simon, J.C. Shaw, and Allen Newell, the general problem solver originated as a theory of human program, specifically "a program that stimulates human thought". The basis of the general problem solver was to use general logic and algorithms to solve common sense problems. Initially, it could only be used in "well–defined" problems, basically proving theorems that had already been created. Although with the introduction of the personal computer in the 1980s and the evolution of smart devices, Artificial intelligence has become practically a daily necessity in our lives today. By the current year 2017, Artificial Intelligence has grown much larger than simply The General Problem Solver. Technologists now differentiate between AI and ML (Machine Learning) when considering intelligence. While artificial intelligence is the broader way of describing a machine being able to complete a task using human input, machine learning is specifically a division of artificial intelligence in which computers can self–learn without the need for human programming. In simplest terms, the goal of machine learning is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Transformational Leadership Strategies to Achieve Vision for Professional Success in a Leadership Role Being interconnected with others enriches us as humans and leaders, and maintaining positive and enriching relationships is my fundamental strategy for personal and professional success. Whatever we say or do to others, whether on personal or professional levels, has impact on them. Deciding on using words and demonstrating actions that can have positive effect upon others, either by empowering them to go beyond their comfort zone or encouraging them to believe in themselves and their own impact, opens the possibility of transformation. In my opinion, the idea of transformational leadership goes beyond work related functions. First, there must be the areas of transformation that need to occur for us as individuals. For instance, Pallota (2012) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To notice opportunity takes time and patience. I learned to appreciate any challenges helping me to abandon my self–centered attitude, leave my safety zone, and critically self–reflect on what I need to change in order to become a better person. I can envision myself as a transformational social work leader fulfilling the mission of empowerment of socioeconomically disadvantaged and marginalized students by supporting their academic achievement and strengthening their self–esteem and self–efficacy. Introduction Many physical phenomena in stationary condition such as electrical and magnetic potential, heat conduction, fluid flow and elastic problems in static condition can be described by elliptic partial differential equations (EPDE). The EPDE does not involve a time variable, and so describes the steady state of problems. A linear EPDE has the general form as presented in Eq. (1), where a,b,c are coefficient functions, the term f is a source (excitation) function and u is the unknown variable. All of this function can vary spatially (x,y,z). ∇(c∙∇u)+b∙∇u+au=f (1) EPDE can be solved exactly by mathematical procedures like Fourier series [1]. However, the classical solution frequently no exists and for those problems where is possible the use of these analytical methods, many simplifications are done [2]. Consequently, several numerical methods have been developed to efficiently solve EPDE such as the finite element method (FEM), finite difference and others. The FEM have several advantages over other methods. The main advantage is that it is particularly effective for problems with complicated geometry using unstructured meshes [2]. One way to get a suitable framework for solving EPDEs by using FEM is formulate them as variational problems also called weak solution. The variacional formulation of an EPDE is a mathematical treating for converting the strong formulation to a weak formulation, which permits the approximation in elements or subdomains, and the EPDE ... In doing so, it will attempt to describe any similarities and differences between the two. Critical thinking is the process of rationally analyzing and attempting to solve a problem accurately without guessing. The first step in critical thinking is to understand the problem thoroughly which will allow you to restate the problem in different ways to learn about it and other related issues and where to look for possible solutions. Critical thinking is the general cognitive skill of determining the best answer when there is not one correct answer. Critical thinking is a trainable skill that can create innovative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Vertical thinking is thinking with mental operations that move in a straight line up and down between higher and lower level concepts. Where lateral thinking is looking in alternate directions to define and interpret a problem and thus a solution. Vertical thinking is like convergent thinking in that it seeks a single correct solution. Lateral thinking is similar to divergent thinking in that it seeks alternate solutions by going around the obvious and taking a different path. Component Approach Sternberg's component approach views a lateral move in thinking will bring a shift in point of view brought on by degrees of freedom from a sideways move from the one–dimensional linear mode of thinking. The three elements of Sternberg's theory are; knowledge acquisition, planning and decision making. Davidson, Deuser, and Sternberg used the component approach in a problem solving approach with four processes which are; finding and defining the problem, mentally representing the problem, planning how to solve the problem, and evaluating performance on the problem. Each of these processes benefit from lateral thinking. Self–Efficacy Self–efficacy is the belief in one's ability to organize and execute the actions necessary to manage a situation ("What Is Self–Efficacy?", n.d.). Self–efficacy allows divergent thinking because cognitive limits are not set in place. Metaphors A metaphor is an example in which the unfamiliar is expressed in terms of ...
