Why Gen-Y Johnny Read Non-Verbal Cues
in how each generation uses technology .For instance, the Baby Boomers prefer face–to–face communication ,Generation X prefers electronic
communication and the Millennials , who were born with technology, are always connected to it. Today, technology is an integral part of people's
lives. It provides people with news, entertainment and most importantly they use it to communicate with other people. The development of technology
has considerably improved the way of living. Technology has made its impact on each and every aspect of people's lives, including the means of
communication. Nowadays, people use various ways to communicate with each other, such as mobile–phones, social networking sites and e–mails.

The advancement of technology has limited the ability to communicate non–verbally. Non–verbal communication is the main channel of
communicating as it helps in expressing and interpreting others. It comprises of cues such as facial expressions, postures and gestures. Nowadays,
people are using e–mails, texts and social networking sites to interact as well as express themselves. As in "Why Gen–Y Johnny Can't Read
Non–Verbal Cues," Mark analyzes ,"We live in a culture where young people– outfitted with iPhone and laptop and devoting hours every evening from
age 10 onward to messaging of one kind and another– are ever less likely to develop the "silent fluency" that comes from face–to–face interaction"
(146). The disadvantage of using technology as a means to communicate with others is people tend to lose fluency in non–verbal cues, as a result
misunderstand and offend others. Any number of emoticons used by people cannot measure their depth of their feelings. Non–Verbal aspect of
communication should not be replaced by the advancement of

Using Online Reading Comprehension Skills
To find whether a source is credible they must develop online reading comprehension skills; these skills are crucial because other researchers have
found that children go online to clarify what they are being taught in school. When kids are curious about something or have a question, it's always
more difficult for the teacher to get to everyone right away in class so they naturally become proactive and find it out for themselves (Tsikalas). Kids
researching and looking up information throughout the day can make huge impacts on their learning and also improve cognition. It might be better to
say that today's children, more than ninety percent of whom will have an online history by age two, are developing key tech–friendly skills at an
earlier age. By engaging kids brains in more complex tasks at a young stage in their lives, toddlers are improving cognition, developing critical review
skills, and displaying a more advanced comprehension of both virtual and real worlds. Along with stronger memory, better comprehension, and abstract
thought, children who regularly use the internet also show a more proactive approach to gathering information and feel an improved performance in
reading comprehension. Language fluency and vocabulary get a boost as well, and some kids even experience a jump in IQ as high as six points.
Beyond mental performance, kids and teens using the Internet and social media demonstrate stronger social skills, better vocabularies, and greater
confidence. They

Eliana Dockterman's Essay 'The Digital Parent Trap'
The next generation of humans is rising, "27% of them use tablets, 43% use smartphones, and 52%" use laptops every day. In "The Digital Parent
Trap", Eliana Dockterman uses sophisticated diction, relatable arguments, and a plethora of statistics to persuade and strengthen the logic and
persuasiveness of her argument that digital technology is good.
Dockterman's sophisticated diction in the essay improves her persuasiveness because using sentences such as "none of this means kids deserve
unfettered access to the gadget of their choice – especially if they've already been caught abusing it. As with any childhood privilege, monitoring is
key, but parents should keep an open mind about the benefits of tech fluency" makes the reader both impressed at her abilities to portray information
and satisfied that they are not reading an essay that seems to be written by one of the children who just want to be on their electronics ... Show more

Dockterman's arguments work because they make parents feel as though they're limiting their child, which is never something a loving parent would
ever want to do. She points out that "when they're [the kids] actually doing something themselves, that retention rate" of what students can remember
increases to nearly 90%. That is, more than twice the amount that they retain both through reading and hearing. The difference is because when a
person is really doing the activity, such as boating or swimming, rather than just learning about it in a class, they can understand the topic better and
progress at a higher speed. Dockterman suggests that "if we're not exposing our students to this stuff early, they're going to be left behind" because it's
not like all of us can just stop using

The Steadfast Solar Company : An Emerging Solar Panel...
Introduction
Steadfast Solar Company is an emerging solar panel importer in New Zealand. All the products are directly shipped from manufacturers in China and
India to New Zealand then assembles and distributes throughout NZ retail branches with the help of one operating centre established in Singapore to
manage all relations.
The company's work force is globally dispersed amidst diverse cultural norms and linguistic variations crossing three distant time zones, which in turn
can barricade effective communication. Below context is discussed in view of overcoming these barriers with appropriate technological passage and
skill enhancement.
Barriers to Communication
Anything that interferes a person's understanding is a communication barrier. It can be either physical semantic or psychological.
i.Physical, Semantic & Psychological Communication Barriers
The immediate background, distance between communicators, personal impairments, technical failures or illnesses inevitably act as communication
barriers. In addition, linguistic variation including accents, idioms, tones and usage of technical jargons can affect effective transmission of
information. Moreover, our perceptions in others' culture, religion, values and experience can restrict efficient communication. As well as, lack of
feedback, emotions, defensiveness, power and conflicts also act as communication barriers. (Chase, O 'Rourke, Smith, Sutton, Timperley, & Wallace,
2003) ii. Communication Barriers in Steadfast

Four Practical Principles Of Vocabulary Education
Vocabulary is one of the most important contributors to children's learning. The higher the levels of vocabulary knowledge a child has, the more they
will understand and the faster they will learn. Vocabulary learning begins at home. From an article I read in college 'Four practical principles for
enhancing vocabulary instruction', research has shown that the level of vocabulary instruction received by children beginning at home has a huge
bearing on both the success of children's personal and academic development. Children from low–income families and non–English speaking families
face a large deficit in English vocabulary knowledge when beginning school (Manyak et al., 2014). This deficit in turn becomes a major barrier and
obstacle to reading success, and thus there is an urgent need for teachers and schools to improve the quality of vocabulary instruction.
A lot of these children are unable to comprehend the vocabulary which they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The average student knows 40,000 words (Manyak et al., 2014) so it is obvious that students need to know more words than teachers can teach. One
strategy would be to choose between 12 and 15 target words to teach each week, depending on the level of word knowledge a word takes to understand.
There are four pragmatic principles for enhancing vocabulary instruction (Nosal, 2012). These are:
1)Establish efficient yet rich routines for introducing target words (Nosal, 2012) – teaching individual words takes time, especially if you have a large
number of words to teach. Time can be saved if successful routines are used. Having a routine saves vital learning time.
2)Provide review experiences that promote deep processing of target words (Nosal, 2012) – give the children experiences of the words that allow and
encourage them to use and understand each word, the children should be exposed to each word in multiple

Air Conditioning Blower Control Module
Air Conditioning Blower Control Module
Repair common AC blower control module problems. Drivers and car owners of some popular Chevrolet trucks and utility vehicles are having issues
with intermittent interior fan operation.
In fact, I had one situation where the blower fan got stuck on high even when you turned off the ignition key. However, it seems like the most common
complaint is that the fan doesn 't respond to speed adjustments or doesn 't work at all.
Some of the more popular vehicles included in this issue are the Chevrolet Silverado pickups, Trailblazer, Suburban and Tahoe sport utility vehicles.
Of course, this applies to the GMC version of these vehicles like the Envoy and Yukon. The model years with the most problems are... Show more

This is the digital type set up that function like the HVAC control panel in your house. You set the temperature for 70 degrees and the climatecontrol
system automatically adjusts the temperature doors and blower speed to accommodate your settings.
If your vehicle has the base option set up with two dials and slides to select a temperature range between cold and hot, you do not have a blower
module. Instead you have a blower resistor.
Nevertheless, both of these systems are troublesome and might need their respective parts replaced. It 's just important to make sure you know the
difference and what parts are on your automobile.
Diagnosing a Defective Blower Control Module
On the automobiles we 're discussing you access the blower module from the passenger side foot well. On vehicles with high–level trim there might be
a hush panel to remove to gain access.
Another thing to take note of is that on most of these models the glove box will swing out of the way when you push up on the stop tab in the upper
left corner of the glove box compartment. When this swings out of the way you have an excellent view of the blower motor and its two wire connector.
Although you probably have a bad blower module you still want to take a few basic tests before you purchase the replacement parts. You want to
check the fuses to make sure that they are not blown. If they are blown it could be yet another sign that the module is drawing too much current.

A Study On Stuttering And Its Effects On The Lives Of The...
Epidemiology
Stuttering, also called stammering or fluency disorder, inhibits the afflicted person from speaking with ease due to the "involuntary, repetitive,
prolongation or cessation" of sounds when trying to speak. Stuttering is a repetition of initial/sound repetition of single syllable word ( I..I..want more
cookies or I want, I want, I want the cup.) There are also some core features and secondary features of stuttering. The Core features includes Repetitions,
(My–my–my–hat), Prolongations(rrrrraaabit) and blocks. The secondary features are, Escape behaviors(Head nods, stamping the floor) , Avoidance
behaviors(word and sound avoidance) , Feelings and attitudes (stress, anxiety, guilt).
Stutters experience tension in the tongue, lips, and throat when speaking. Stuttering is Possibly the longest documented history of any communication
disorder however, Fluency disorders affect a relatively small number of people, compared to other disorders of communication disorder.
Prevalence and Incidence
Prevalence and incidence : 5% of the population has experienced developmental stuttering and 1% of the population continues to experience stuttering
into childhood and beyond Highest rate of fluency disorders occurs simultaneously with the burst of language simultaneously with the burst of

The Key Features Of Stuttering
Key Features of Stuttering
Stuttering is a speech disorder that occurs when the fluency of speech is involuntarily interrupted (Belyk et al., 2014). According to scientific literature,
typical symptoms of stuttering include prolongations of speech sounds, sound and syllable repetition, fast tempo, lengthy pauses, intrusion of irrelevant
sounds, the use of interjections, and physical signs of struggle (Andrade et al., 2014). Additionally, stutterers can develop secondary behaviours
including negative perceptions leading to avoidance of certain social situations (Maguire et al., 2004). Negative emotional responses can cause
debilitating cognitive and social impacts (Andrade et al., 2014). Stuttering typically develops in childhood and the ... Show more content on

Additionally, Watson is male and his mild condition presented itself in childhood. Despite the trend for spontaneous recovery, Watson has yet to
experience partial or complete recovery. Overall, many of the typical symptoms of stuttering are present in Watson's case.
Aetiology
Despite the intensive efforts in the scientific community, the aetiology of stuttering remains largely unknown. Suspected factors of influence include
dopamine hyperactivity, disordered sensory feedback, linguistic deficits, anticipation of speech difficulties, generalized motor deficits, speech–specific
motor deficits, environmental factors, and genetic factors (Max et al., 2004). Currently, it is widely agreed upon that genetic factors have a substantial
role in the aetiology of stuttering. Studies in twins have shown an increased rate of stuttering in monozygotic twins than in dizygotic twins –77%
prevalence versus 32% prevalence (Felsenfeld et al., 2000). In addition to genetic factors, environmental factors include birth events, traumas or
illnesses, stress, and peer influences (Felsenfeld et al., 2000).
On the contrary, Michaela believes that both genetics and environment play a rather minimal role in stuttering. Scientific literature suspects that
genetics have a profound influence on stuttering. However, a family history for Watson was conducted, and revealed a lineage absent of stuttering.
Watson has not displayed any symptoms of

An architectural analogy would be the ramp or the elevator (as opposed to the stairs), which makes movement within the environment possible for
most people. Design for all involves the principles of accessibility and usability Since accessibility means removing barriers, an accessible system
allows a blind person to "view" a web site or a paralyzed person to move the screen cursor without a mouse. Since usability means minimizing the
overload imposed by the use of computers in terms of motor and cognitive load, a usable system makes manipulation of the system easier. Therefore,
design for all also involves assistive technologies to overcome any impairments of a user. In the context of this paper, assistive technology refers to the
(special) computer hardware and/or software used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities (Blaise,
2003). Examples of computer assistive technology devices are Braille readers, screen magnification software, eye–tracking devices, and so forth. In
spatial accessibly, a wheelchair is an assistive technology device. A.User Interface Accessibility From the user's viewpoint, interface means "the whole

reflect the physical difficulties users might have to manage the devices and the cognitive barriers

The Internet And The Internet
As many people should be aware of, the library, was used to read books, to help you with whatever you needed to learn or to be researched. At the
library, majority of the people would have to spend money to buy books just to use them as a research tool. Libraries now are new and improved,
now we have computers, laptops, printers and any other devices used in there. Parents should allow their kids to have access the internet because it
allows kids to be more sociable, gives them a head start on learning, and the internet gives kids the ability to learn easier and faster. The Internet is
an electronic way of communicating, socializing and also can also be used as a research tool. With the internet, you have tools like emails, chat
services, video streaming or facetiming and more importantly, social networking apps like Facebook, which is used to search people like and
comment on statuses and upload pictures. Twitter, used to share quotes, pictures or videos that someone has posted. Snapchat, is used to upload
pictures and videos and screenshot other people's media and so on. Using social media is a way to possibly a way to catch up with old friends from
the past or to make news ones. Some people might say that the internet affects the ability for children to learn (VKool 2009–2017). The use of the
internet might cause children to abandon their families because they might want to be on the computer rather than wanting to spend time with family.

Digital Pedagogy Essay
"Currently we live in an era driven by information, global competition and new technologies that are changing the way we think, live and work."
(Pillay, Boulton–Lewis & Wilss 2004, p.17). This conveys the notion that technology has manipulated the minds of today's generation in every way
possible, could be during schooling and non–schooling life. Hence in order for one's teaching style to go successful one should teach in accordance to
the characteristics of the generation they're teaching as today's generation requires a digital pedagogy. Furthermore this essay scrutinizes how the
characteristics of the 21st century and the digital world will influence the type of teacher one hopes to become. As well as it examines on the
construction of skill development towards students from the trending of digital fluency.
Technology today is the fundamental enhancement of teaching and education towards students including collaborative learning. Many educators would
approve that a vigorous display of student triumph is the students' ability to advance both skills and an interest in durable education. A teacher's style of
teaching regarding educational experience and environment could have a vast effect on their student's education. However technology has emerged as
the foundation regarding stronger education, therefore numerous students going to college or university have already possessed progressive skills

Use Of Technology And Its Effects On The World
Throughout history, intellectual thinkers have guided the development of society through innovative inventions that changed the world drastically.
One such invention that changed the way others communicated was the first telephone, created and revolutionized by Alexander Graham Bell. This
invention harbored in a new period of time with increased numbers of technology. Since then, technology has expanded into television, computers, and
other electronics that many rely on in order to function on a daily basis. People of all ages and backgrounds use technology consistently, including
children and those from Generation Y of the 80's and 90's when electronic use became more frequent (Zhitomirsky–Geffett & Blau, 2016). Many have
debated the effects of allowing children to use technology, but it is believed that there are both positive and negative effects.Childhood development is
influenced by technology because it affects health, learning, social relationships, and sleep patterns. One process that is involved with child learning is
the ability to plan. From infancy, children use planning to learn through basic abilities, such us learning how to walk, understanding schedules of
feeding and sleeping, forming visual representations, and organizing speech patterns. For example, an infant learns or "plans" to walk because it is a
goal–oriented behavior. The infant sees something that he or she wants, determines how he will get it, and decides to orient his actions towards receiving

Evaluation Of A High School Freshman With Autism Essay
Every child requires a certain amount of support throughout their educational career. Students have need of support from family and educators alike.
However, students with special needs can and often do require a more elaborate team of specialists. The special education team consists of several
different people from many different teams. These teams include: the parents; the mental health workers in the school; the mental health workers
outside of the school; general education teachers; special education teachers; and special therapists (speech, physical, and occupational). This case study
of a high school freshman with autism will examine each team member's role in the education of this exceptional student.
The special education history and individual education plan in this case study will focus on a fourteen year old freshman that has been diagnosed
with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Emotional Disability (SED), and Other Health Impairment (OHI) including Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and a Speech Impairment. The family stated that they were made aware of the possibility of disabilities when the
student was in sixth grade. According to her current case manager, her family was very involved in her education and there appeared to be no
language or cultural barriers. Her teachers noticed that she had a difficulty making friends and tended to perseverate on subjects long after the rest of
the class moved on to a different subject.

and their reading experience can be extended by using technology.
While it may be more fascinating for us as adults, children are living in the digital age where they think technology is a part of their everyday life.

Students that are experiencing frustration in reading cannot be expected by the teacher to enjoy and practice reading as much as a student who
enjoys reading. Students that have significant reading difficulties in the lower grades continue to struggle as they proceed through the upper grades.
Reading disorders affect a student's ability to read and to learn in the different subjects. For example, good readers tend to be more successful in
subject areas such as science and math. It is imperative for students to learn the reading skills they need to be successful in school and in life
(Melekoglu, 2011). There are two occurring types of reading disorders. The causes, as well as the treatments of these reading disorders, are diverse.
Dyslexia is when a student has difficulty decoding words and understanding the relationship between spelling patterns and the pronunciation of words
(Snowling & Hulme, 2012). Students with dyslexia read slowly and with error. Also, dyslexia can affect a student's spelling and writing ability. Deficits
in phonological coding and impairments in verbal short–term memory are also seen with dyslexia. This decoding is the basis of learning to read. The
other major impairment is in reading comprehension. Students with an impairment in reading comprehension often can read fluently without difficulty,
however are unable to understand what they have read. Reading comprehension involves accessing meanings of words and higher order thinking.

My Philosophy Of Education Essay
Philosophy of Education My purpose of getting any education was to learn all that I can learn and to be a productive citizen in today's society. My
purpose of getting an education and pursuing a degree in elementary education is to have an impact on many students' futures, change students' lives,
and to help students to believe in themselves. I will do this by believing in my students and pushing them to achieve their goals. As a teacher, I
understand that politics and geographic zones have a big influence on what schools are supplied with, and they can have an impact on the education
that a student gets. As a teacher, I will not let these things get in the way of providing my students with a quality education, and I will not let these

We believe that the following factors are shaping the use of technology in our school:
We would like to see a shift in focus within our organization from one of standardization and compliance to one of innovation and experimentation; to
one based on the products students create that demonstrate individual growth based on student learning goals; and to one where students are actively
driving their own learning.
Technology is becoming increasingly decentralized allowing for information to be accessed anywhere at anytime. Computer and communication
technologies are an increasingly ubiquitous part of instruction across many disciplines necessitating a more flexible and mobile deployment ... Show

Research Justification : Autism Spectrum Disorder
Research justification:
Autism Spectrum Disorder has been in existence for nearly two decades. Autism was first identified by two Austrian psychiatrists, Dr. Leo Kanner and
Dr. Hans Asperger in 1940s (Phetrasuwan et al., 2009). Dr. Kanner studied a small group of eleven young children in 1943 that exhibited unusual
behaviour like aloneness, temper tantrums, limited spontaneity, grammatical errors during conversations, repeating sentences or mute, repetitive
routines, isolated skills, serious mindedness and named them as "early infantile Autism" (derived from the Greek word autos meaning 'Self') (Kanner,
1943, Wing, 1997, KITA and HOSOKAWA, 2011) .
In the same year Dr. Hans Asperger submitted his thesis titled "Autistic psychopathy in childhood" which was published the following year in 1944
(Lyons and Fitzgerald, 2007). He observed a group of four children who had excellent memories (KITA and HOSOKAWA, 2011, Van Krevelen,
1971) . They had impairments like monotone speech, poor motor skills, delayed social abilities, less severe linguistic delays, ego–centric behaviours,
sensitive to particular sounds, aromas, textures and touch (Attwood, 1998). This type of behaviour is termed as "Asperger's syndrome".
Autism is a life–long disability that affects people in three different aspects of life in social interaction, social communication and social behaviour. The
range of levels varied depending on the type of severity (severe to mild). It has been put forth as the continuum

Technology And Technology Essay
I do not agree with the APP's recommendation of having only two hours of daily entertainment and screen time for kids and teens. I believe that there
should at least be 4 – 6 hours of recommended technology use each day. There are multiple reasonings to have a 4 – 6 hours of electronic time. People
say that technology increases the way people do things at their schools, jobs, and at home. Technology helps people at school because many schools
are now having more technology to help the kids understand. Technology also helps people at home, it helps them complete tasks throughout the
house. Electronics help people at work because every day most jobs use computers and they help us complete our jobs. Adolescents can become more
educated with a touch of a couple of buttons!
Technology helps us in many ways, from setting reminders for doctors appointments to vacuuming your whole house, we rely on technology for a lot
of different things. There are many benefits to technology too. In the article, the author says, technology has educational benefits such as with learning
a new language, helping young kids learn how to count, and help students that are struggling with a subject get extra help. Technology also has many
communication benefits, like being able to communicate with family and friends across the world. According to the article, 4 Benefits of screen time,
technology helps the imagination and creativity grow in adolescents (Under 5s Limited). Amy Williams author of How

Primary Care Issues In Canada
The populations of Canada and most industrialized countries are aging. In Canada, the number of adults aged sixty–five and over was estimated to be
five million as of 2011 (Government of Canada 2014, par. 2). In 2005, the Government of Canada identified focal points and future directions for the
Canadian health system to increase efficiency and effective service delivery, as well as sustainability, in the face of these changing population
demographics (Health Council of Canada 2005). As in other countries, including France, Germany, Australia and the United States, there is currently a
shift in resource allocation and policy towards primary health care (Schoen et al., 2012). The reason for this shift is related to the unique healthcare

"weakness in the muscles of articulation" resulting from progressive bulbar palsy and stroke (Ashley et al. 2006, 295). Ataxic dysarthria involves
"decreased rate of speech, inappropriate stress, fluctuating volume, and poorly controlled coordination of respiration and phonation" most often
associated with MS (Ashley et al. 2006, 295). Spastic dysarthria causes "harsh, strained, or strangled vocal quality; imprecise articulation; and irregular
prosody" as a result of stroke (Ashley et al. 2006, 296). Hyperkinetic dysarthria, whose symptoms include "phonotory dysfunction, unpredictable
breakdowns of articulation and abnormalities in speech timing and prosody", is most frequently found in Huntington's disease (Ashely et al. 2006;
Rusz et al. 2013, 1). Lastly, hypokinetic dysarthria causes the speaker to experience "monotone...loudness and pitch, reduced stress, imprecise
articulation, inappropriate silences...and a breathy, harsh vocal quality" and is most commonly found in patients with Parkinson's disease (Ashley et al.

Describe The Differences Between English Language And Iraq
The teaching of the English language in Iraq and Iceland is very different from each other. The activities and material, which the teachers use for
teaching listening and speaking, are also different. In Iraq, when I was there, there were no electronic devices, which have listening activities. The
teacher was the only source for the students to hear the English language. In the school student have to listen to the teacher and repeat all the words to
learn them and also to learn how to pronounce them. As the matter for the speaking, there were books, which include some dialogues, which are taken
from real life situation, and students were supposed to learn them by heart and speak the dialogue with the student sitting beside them in class, the

Technology in the Classroom Essay
As we progress further into the 21st century, our society is quickly becoming more and more integrated to technology. The creations of new laptops
and tablets, and the easy access to new and improved phones have driven younger generations to recruit to these advances as well. The quick and
widespread implementation of these technological advances has shaped the new way we conduct our daily lives, as well as how knowledge is
processed and taught in our classrooms. Today's technology provides teachers, as well as students, with opportunities for teaching and learning that
were impossible in the past. Technology is being used as a tool to promote human learning, not just calculators, but including Smart Boards, tablets

When asked to write, young students often struggle to express their ideas on paper because they are concentrating on how the write the specific letters,
however through the use of technology "students enhance their writing because they are not concentrating on how to write the letters, but on the flow
of ideas" (Hertzog and Klein 27). Students have successfully improved their writing skills through the use of technological advancements while still
going back to the "old fashioned way" of hand–writing. Based on experiments done by Hertzog and Klein, they have found many advantages to using
technology in early childhood classrooms. While many supports the idea of technology being implemented in educational plans, there are many who
oppose and argue that technology in today's classroom can take away important learning time and can also turn educational experiences into games for
students (Klaus 1). However, technology must be appropriately used and with well trained teachers that can assist students to use these technological
advancements for their educational benefit. As Kenny mentions, integrating technology into the schoolroom is hard work and can only succeed when

The Role Of English On The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
PROSPECTUS
Background of the Project
The role of English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Languages have a prominent status in all societies and in all developed and developing countries.
The languages take this status because they are devices for communicating between humans. In many countries, there is more than one language that
the people speak. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for example, the Arabic language is the official language in the country, and the English language is
the second language that the citizens speak. The English language has a remarkable role in various sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Alhaisoni & Rahman (2013) state, "English language is playing an important role in both electronic and print media in Saudi Arabia" (p.114). The
country has many TV stations, and one of these stations has all English content. Also, it has a radio station, which has many English programs. Finally,
English has a big role in the employment system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al–seghayer (2012) asserts, "competence in and knowledge of
English opens doors for Saudi citizens and gives the rank–and file employees" opportunity for advancement (p.2). The country has many private
companies that are established by foreign people who speak the English language professionally, and they are demanding employees who speak and
write English. So, English is important to employment in Saudi Arabia.
History of English teaching and methodology: Teaching English in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has undergone several changes. The starting of
teaching English was in 1925 (Liton, 2012). This starting point was different between public schools and private schools. First, the government
established public schools, and the Ministry of Education managed them. As a result, these schools do not charge any tuition to the people who live in
Saudi Arabia. The English language was taught from seventh grade to twelfth grade in public schools. The method of teaching English in public schools

Pros And Cons Of Dependence On Technology Essay
Technology surround us. Like water in the cream, people are swimming in technology each and every day. From the radio playing a favourite song to
a text received about the results of a game, people use technology constantly. However, there is a point at which people are overtaken by technology;
when he wave engulfs us and there is no way out. People are becoming more and dependent on technology. Ever since technology began heavily
integrating itself into society, many major uses have developed, but at a cost that brings on dangerous side effects, both mental and physical, as shown
by the potential Y2k bug, that will continue unless active measures are sought out by those so dependent on technology. Outside of the classroom and
the office, technology is still omnipresent. The internet, like most advancements and perhaps the best known example of modern technology, began at
a military level ("Information Technology"2) and wound up eventually landing in the laps of businesses and the common person. With this, the normal
way of conducting business changed dramatically. Instead of physically exchanging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Final Product : Recommendations For Miss Rodgers
Final Product: Recommendations for Miss Rodgers
As we know, each student obtains and processes information differently. As an educator, we must learn and work to try to teach each individual within
his/her learning style. However teaching grammar can be complex and boring. Providing a variety of learning methods would be most acceptable for
student growth and skill mastery.
Ways of teaching grammar, punctuation, parts of speech, andwriting skills can be difficult because of negative social media influence, limited class
time, class size, learning styles, and the list could continue. I find the following format productive within my class, and in return could be beneficial
for Miss Rodgers. The first step is to pre–assess the students prior to the unit taught to receive a baseline of student knowledge; then instruct the lesson
(topic). Putting lessons on a LMS (Learning Management System) like Schoology or Google Classroom would be beneficial because it allows me to
post additional links to online activities per lesson, create immediate feedback from quizzes and discussions, and/or hands–on instructions for activities.
IXL Language is another learning system where I can assign a variety of activities related to specific topics that I can monitor student progress and
mastery. In addition, using multiple intelligence activities would give the students options for skill mastery. These multiple intelligence activities can
also include writing activities to demonstrate if

Abstract
The growth in information technology (IT) rapidly changed the world. The growth of e–Learning technologies implies the fact that the future education
system will largely depend upon the electronic devices and computer aided technologies. Computer aided teaching techniques are much more effective
for the children than the traditional teaching system in most of the cases. The purpose of this study is to enhance teaching quality by using
computer–assisted instruction (CAI).
All educational program including syllabus, methods of teaching, evaluation etc... are meant for satisfying the needs and requirements of average
students, the major population of the society. Under such conditions, the categories of students namely gifted students, slow learners and educationally
backward students etc...would not get suitable facilities for satisfying their needs and requirements. Indirectly they are wasting their time and effort by
attending the formal class. The growth of e–Learning technologies implies the fact that the future education system will largely depend upon the
electronic devices and computer aided technologies. computer aided teaching techniques are much more effective for the children than the traditional

Since the use of a dictionary has been associated with...
Since the use of a dictionary has been associated with negative views among teachers and educators, there is relatively little body of researches in
regard to its impact on L2 acquisition. Many teachers argue that the use of the dictionary while reading may divert students' attention to an individual
word instead of understanding the text as a whole; thus, hinder the comprehension process (knight, 1994).
The top–communicative approach that advocates implicit vocabulary learning was dominant in the 1970s and 1980s which led many educators to
discourage the frequent use of dictionary and pay more attention to guessing word meaning from context (Sökmen, 1997). However, there are many
limitations to employ merely the guessing strategy. As... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to have a look at the information provided by a typical dictionary in order to recognize the potential effectiveness of dictionaries in
enhancing vocabulary acquisition. In most dictionaries, a typical word entry includes: meaning, grammar, usage, history, status, synonym,
discrimination, application of derivative affixes, details of the parts of speech, indications of style and register, pronunciation, the origin of the word,
labels to indicate the field in which the word is commonly used, gender of words, verb conjugations, common expressions, idioms and abbreviations.
Marckwardt (1973) believes that the information supplied by dictionaries about the language can not be found elsewhere. Taking into consideration the
valuable information supplied by dictionaries, the significant role of the dictionary in developing the process of learning vocabulary can not be denied.
In recent years, dictionary use has relatively become a topic of research interest. For example, Summers (1988) reported the results of three experiments
done on the effectiveness of the use of the dictionary in reading comprehension and vocabulary learning. The first two experiments focused on reading
comprehension and found that comprehension was significantly

This decoding is the basis of learning to read. The other major impairment is in reading comprehension. Students with an impairment in reading
comprehension often can read fluently without difficulty, however are unable to understand what they have read. Reading comprehension involves
accessing meanings of words and higher order thinking. Making inferences and self–monitoring are crucial skills needed for comprehending text
(Snowling & Hulme, 2012). Numerous interventions have been implemented to help students with reading disorders achieve success in reading.
Estevas and Whitten (2011) state that teachers are responsible for providing a variety of methods of instruction and intervention that are effective in
remediating difficulties with reading. Assisted reading with audio recordings is mentioned as one such intervention that has been proven to be effective
for students with reading disorders (Estevas & Whitten, 2011). Assisted reading occurs when students listen to an audio recording of fluent reading as
they read along. Not only does this method help students increase fluency, it also allows older students access to grade level text. The authors suggest
using assisted reading with audiobooks to increase the effectiveness of sustained silent reading time in the classroom. The research findings related to
assisted reading show that this intervention improves reading fluency and promotes comprehension for struggling readers (Estevas & Whitten, 2011).

SLCN
Introduction.
Speech, language and communication play a vital role in our lives. Without being able to talk to, and understand other people we can't do things alike:
Almost everything we do involves speech, language and or communication
Children develop communication skills from birth. They rely on speech, language and communication to be able to learn at school and play with their
friends. They need these skills to reach their full potential. Children begin to understand words before they can say them. They then learn how to say
these words and how to put them together to make sentences. Some develop quickly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These words and concepts are vital for making sense of new information or ideas that they are finding out about. Children and young people's
interactions at school with adults and their peers are crucial in supporting their learning.
Research has shown that in areas of social disadvantage, at least 50% of children have delayed language. (Locke, A., Ginsborg, J., and Peers, I. 2002)
however, it's important to note that children and young people from all areas and backgrounds can have delayed language.
Clinical Pragmatics reflects an emerging awareness that some communication difficulties could not be attributed to 'purely' linguistic problems. For a
long time before that, practicing speech and language therapists had worked with children and adults whose primary difficulties seemed to lie with the
understanding and/or production of connected discourse. ('Relevance Theory and Communication Disorders' Eeva Leinonen and Nuala Ryder, 2008.)
Communication is the basis of our lives and we would in this day and age, be handicapped without it. Everyday we are communicating with each other
in some way or another, be it by using words, actions or even expressions in conveying a message. Communication refers to the exchange of thoughts
and ideas with the intention of conveying information. The purpose of communication is to convey one's beliefs, ideas, thoughts, or needs with clarity
so as to reach a consensus or a mutually acceptable

There has been a significant loss in motivation to reading, especially seen in young people and children. The intervention program that is being
explored is the "Joy of Reading" intervention and was implemented in twelve second grade special education classes for students who had learning
disabilities. There were 108 students in total, between the ages of 7 and 8. The control group, or the group that did not receive the intervention
program, consisted of 108 students. The classes were randomly assigned to the experimental or control groups, as the reading ability for all
participants was below their age level. A language independent test called RAVEN was administered to the students in order to note the students'
cognitive abilities. The test measure general intelligence and is the most common and popular test administered to people ranging from five years old
to the elderly. The Joy of Reading intervention program was implemented five days a week for 45 minutes per day throughout the course of aschool
year. The program consisted of fixed parts, such as daily reading with writing about the reading, and variable parts, meaning storytelling and retelling
the story and functional reading. The program is assessed in three parts: book preference, meaning that children will choose to read a book for fun as

Why Gen-Y Johnny Read Non-Verbal Cues

  • 1. Why Gen-Y Johnny Read Non-Verbal Cues in how each generation uses technology .For instance, the Baby Boomers prefer face–to–face communication ,Generation X prefers electronic communication and the Millennials , who were born with technology, are always connected to it. Today, technology is an integral part of people's lives. It provides people with news, entertainment and most importantly they use it to communicate with other people. The development of technology has considerably improved the way of living. Technology has made its impact on each and every aspect of people's lives, including the means of communication. Nowadays, people use various ways to communicate with each other, such as mobile–phones, social networking sites and e–mails. Although technology has changed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The advancement of technology has limited the ability to communicate non–verbally. Non–verbal communication is the main channel of communicating as it helps in expressing and interpreting others. It comprises of cues such as facial expressions, postures and gestures. Nowadays, people are using e–mails, texts and social networking sites to interact as well as express themselves. As in "Why Gen–Y Johnny Can't Read Non–Verbal Cues," Mark analyzes ,"We live in a culture where young people– outfitted with iPhone and laptop and devoting hours every evening from age 10 onward to messaging of one kind and another– are ever less likely to develop the "silent fluency" that comes from face–to–face interaction" (146). The disadvantage of using technology as a means to communicate with others is people tend to lose fluency in non–verbal cues, as a result misunderstand and offend others. Any number of emoticons used by people cannot measure their depth of their feelings. Non–Verbal aspect of communication should not be replaced by the advancement of ... • 2. Using Online Reading Comprehension Skills To find whether a source is credible they must develop online reading comprehension skills; these skills are crucial because other researchers have found that children go online to clarify what they are being taught in school. When kids are curious about something or have a question, it's always more difficult for the teacher to get to everyone right away in class so they naturally become proactive and find it out for themselves (Tsikalas). Kids researching and looking up information throughout the day can make huge impacts on their learning and also improve cognition. It might be better to say that today's children, more than ninety percent of whom will have an online history by age two, are developing key tech–friendly skills at an earlier age. By engaging kids brains in more complex tasks at a young stage in their lives, toddlers are improving cognition, developing critical review skills, and displaying a more advanced comprehension of both virtual and real worlds. Along with stronger memory, better comprehension, and abstract thought, children who regularly use the internet also show a more proactive approach to gathering information and feel an improved performance in reading comprehension. Language fluency and vocabulary get a boost as well, and some kids even experience a jump in IQ as high as six points. Beyond mental performance, kids and teens using the Internet and social media demonstrate stronger social skills, better vocabularies, and greater confidence. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Eliana Dockterman's Essay 'The Digital Parent Trap' The next generation of humans is rising, "27% of them use tablets, 43% use smartphones, and 52%" use laptops every day. In "The Digital Parent Trap", Eliana Dockterman uses sophisticated diction, relatable arguments, and a plethora of statistics to persuade and strengthen the logic and persuasiveness of her argument that digital technology is good. Dockterman's sophisticated diction in the essay improves her persuasiveness because using sentences such as "none of this means kids deserve unfettered access to the gadget of their choice – especially if they've already been caught abusing it. As with any childhood privilege, monitoring is key, but parents should keep an open mind about the benefits of tech fluency" makes the reader both impressed at her abilities to portray information and satisfied that they are not reading an essay that seems to be written by one of the children who just want to be on their electronics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dockterman's arguments work because they make parents feel as though they're limiting their child, which is never something a loving parent would ever want to do. She points out that "when they're [the kids] actually doing something themselves, that retention rate" of what students can remember increases to nearly 90%. That is, more than twice the amount that they retain both through reading and hearing. The difference is because when a person is really doing the activity, such as boating or swimming, rather than just learning about it in a class, they can understand the topic better and progress at a higher speed. Dockterman suggests that "if we're not exposing our students to this stuff early, they're going to be left behind" because it's not like all of us can just stop using ... All the products are directly shipped from manufacturers in China and India to New Zealand then assembles and distributes throughout NZ retail branches with the help of one operating centre established in Singapore to manage all relations. The company's work force is globally dispersed amidst diverse cultural norms and linguistic variations crossing three distant time zones, which in turn can barricade effective communication. Below context is discussed in view of overcoming these barriers with appropriate technological passage and skill enhancement. Barriers to Communication Anything that interferes a person's understanding is a communication barrier. It can be either physical semantic or psychological. i.Physical, Semantic & Psychological Communication Barriers The immediate background, distance between communicators, personal impairments, technical failures or illnesses inevitably act as communication barriers. In addition, linguistic variation including accents, idioms, tones and usage of technical jargons can affect effective transmission of information. Moreover, our perceptions in others' culture, religion, values and experience can restrict efficient communication. As well as, lack of feedback, emotions, defensiveness, power and conflicts also act as communication barriers. (Chase, O 'Rourke, Smith, Sutton, Timperley, & Wallace, 2003) ii. • 5. Four Practical Principles Of Vocabulary Education Vocabulary is one of the most important contributors to children's learning. The higher the levels of vocabulary knowledge a child has, the more they will understand and the faster they will learn. Vocabulary learning begins at home. From an article I read in college 'Four practical principles for enhancing vocabulary instruction', research has shown that the level of vocabulary instruction received by children beginning at home has a huge bearing on both the success of children's personal and academic development. Children from low–income families and non–English speaking families face a large deficit in English vocabulary knowledge when beginning school (Manyak et al., 2014). This deficit in turn becomes a major barrier and obstacle to reading success, and thus there is an urgent need for teachers and schools to improve the quality of vocabulary instruction. A lot of these children are unable to comprehend the vocabulary which they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The average student knows 40,000 words (Manyak et al., 2014) so it is obvious that students need to know more words than teachers can teach. One strategy would be to choose between 12 and 15 target words to teach each week, depending on the level of word knowledge a word takes to understand. There are four pragmatic principles for enhancing vocabulary instruction (Nosal, 2012). These are: 1)Establish efficient yet rich routines for introducing target words (Nosal, 2012) – teaching individual words takes time, especially if you have a large number of words to teach. Time can be saved if successful routines are used. Having a routine saves vital learning time. 2)Provide review experiences that promote deep processing of target words (Nosal, 2012) – give the children experiences of the words that allow and encourage them to use and understand each word, the children should be exposed to each word in multiple ... Drivers and car owners of some popular Chevrolet trucks and utility vehicles are having issues with intermittent interior fan operation. In fact, I had one situation where the blower fan got stuck on high even when you turned off the ignition key. However, it seems like the most common complaint is that the fan doesn 't respond to speed adjustments or doesn 't work at all. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is the digital type set up that function like the HVAC control panel in your house. You set the temperature for 70 degrees and the climatecontrol system automatically adjusts the temperature doors and blower speed to accommodate your settings. If your vehicle has the base option set up with two dials and slides to select a temperature range between cold and hot, you do not have a blower module. Instead you have a blower resistor. Nevertheless, both of these systems are troublesome and might need their respective parts replaced. It 's just important to make sure you know the difference and what parts are on your automobile. Diagnosing a Defective Blower Control Module On the automobiles we 're discussing you access the blower module from the passenger side foot well. On vehicles with high–level trim there might be a hush panel to remove to gain access. Another thing to take note of is that on most of these models the glove box will swing out of the way when you push up on the stop tab in the upper left corner of the glove box compartment. When this swings out of the way you have an excellent view of the blower motor and its two wire connector.

Epidemiology Stuttering, also called stammering or fluency disorder, inhibits the afflicted person from speaking with ease due to the "involuntary, repetitive, prolongation or cessation" of sounds when trying to speak. Stuttering is a repetition of initial/sound repetition of single syllable word ( I..I..want more cookies or I want, I want, I want the cup.) There are also some core features and secondary features of stuttering. The Core features includes Repetitions, (My–my–my–hat), Prolongations(rrrrraaabit) and blocks. The secondary features are, Escape behaviors(Head nods, stamping the floor) , Avoidance behaviors(word and sound avoidance) , Feelings and attitudes (stress, anxiety, guilt). Stutters experience tension in the tongue, lips, and throat when speaking. Stuttering is Possibly the longest documented history of any communication disorder however, Fluency disorders affect a relatively small number of people, compared to other disorders of communication disorder. According to scientific literature, typical symptoms of stuttering include prolongations of speech sounds, sound and syllable repetition, fast tempo, lengthy pauses, intrusion of irrelevant sounds, the use of interjections, and physical signs of struggle (Andrade et al., 2014). Additionally, stutterers can develop secondary behaviours including negative perceptions leading to avoidance of certain social situations (Maguire et al., 2004). Negative emotional responses can cause debilitating cognitive and social impacts (Andrade et al., 2014). Stuttering typically develops in childhood and the ... Despite the trend for spontaneous recovery, Watson has yet to experience partial or complete recovery. Overall, many of the typical symptoms of stuttering are present in Watson's case. Aetiology Despite the intensive efforts in the scientific community, the aetiology of stuttering remains largely unknown. Suspected factors of influence include dopamine hyperactivity, disordered sensory feedback, linguistic deficits, anticipation of speech difficulties, generalized motor deficits, speech–specific motor deficits, environmental factors, and genetic factors (Max et al., 2004). Currently, it is widely agreed upon that genetic factors have a substantial role in the aetiology of stuttering. Studies in twins have shown an increased rate of stuttering in monozygotic twins than in dizygotic twins –77% prevalence versus 32% prevalence (Felsenfeld et al., 2000). In addition to genetic factors, environmental factors include birth events, traumas or illnesses, stress, and peer influences (Felsenfeld et al., 2000). On the contrary, Michaela believes that both genetics and environment play a rather minimal role in stuttering. Scientific literature suspects that genetics have a profound influence on stuttering. Design for all involves the principles of accessibility and usability Since accessibility means removing barriers, an accessible system allows a blind person to "view" a web site or a paralyzed person to move the screen cursor without a mouse. Since usability means minimizing the overload imposed by the use of computers in terms of motor and cognitive load, a usable system makes manipulation of the system easier. Therefore, design for all also involves assistive technologies to overcome any impairments of a user. In the context of this paper, assistive technology refers to the (special) computer hardware and/or software used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities (Blaise, 2003). Examples of computer assistive technology devices are Braille readers, screen magnification software, eye–tracking devices, and so forth. In spatial accessibly, a wheelchair is an assistive technology device. A.User Interface Accessibility From the user's viewpoint, interface means "the whole system." At the library, majority of the people would have to spend money to buy books just to use them as a research tool. Libraries now are new and improved, now we have computers, laptops, printers and any other devices used in there. Use Of Technology And Its Effects On The World Throughout history, intellectual thinkers have guided the development of society through innovative inventions that changed the world drastically. One such invention that changed the way others communicated was the first telephone, created and revolutionized by Alexander Graham Bell. This invention harbored in a new period of time with increased numbers of technology. Since then, technology has expanded into television, computers, and other electronics that many rely on in order to function on a daily basis. People of all ages and backgrounds use technology consistently, including children and those from Generation Y of the 80's and 90's when electronic use became more frequent (Zhitomirsky–Geffett & Blau, 2016). Many have debated the effects of allowing children to use technology, but it is believed that there are both positive and negative effects.Childhood development is influenced by technology because it affects health, learning, social relationships, and sleep patterns. One process that is involved with child learning is the ability to plan. From infancy, children use planning to learn through basic abilities, such us learning how to walk, understanding schedules of feeding and sleeping, forming visual representations, and organizing speech patterns. For example, an infant learns or "plans" to walk because it is a goal–oriented behavior. The infant sees something that he or she wants, determines how he will get it, and decides to orient his actions towards receiving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Students with dyslexia read slowly and with error. Also, dyslexia can affect a student's spelling and writing ability. Deficits in phonological coding and impairments in verbal short–term memory are also seen with dyslexia. This decoding is the basis of learning to read. The other major impairment is in reading comprehension. Autism was first identified by two Austrian psychiatrists, Dr. Leo Kanner and Dr. Hans Asperger in 1940s (Phetrasuwan et al., 2009). Dr. Kanner studied a small group of eleven young children in 1943 that exhibited unusual behaviour like aloneness, temper tantrums, limited spontaneity, grammatical errors during conversations, repeating sentences or mute, repetitive routines, isolated skills, serious mindedness and named them as "early infantile Autism" (derived from the Greek word autos meaning 'Self') (Kanner, 1943, Wing, 1997, KITA and HOSOKAWA, 2011) . In the same year Dr. Hans Asperger submitted his thesis titled "Autistic psychopathy in childhood" which was published the following year in 1944 (Lyons and Fitzgerald, 2007). He observed a group of four children who had excellent memories (KITA and HOSOKAWA, 2011, Van Krevelen, 1971) . They had impairments like monotone speech, poor motor skills, delayed social abilities, less severe linguistic delays, ego–centric behaviours, sensitive to particular sounds, aromas, textures and touch (Attwood, 1998). This type of behaviour is termed as "Asperger's syndrome". Reading comprehension involves accessing meanings of words and higher order thinking. Making inferences and self–monitoring are crucial skills needed for comprehending text (Snowling & Hulme, 2012). Numerous interventions have been implemented to help students with reading disorders achieve success in reading. Estevas and Whitten (2011) state that teachers are responsible for providing a variety of methods of instruction and intervention that are effective in remediating difficulties with reading. Assisted reading with audio recordings is mentioned as one such intervention that has been proven to be effective for students with reading disorders (Estevas & Whitten, 2011). Assisted reading occurs when students listen to an audio recording of fluent reading as they read along. Not only does this method help students increase fluency, it also allows older students access to grade level text. The authors suggest using assisted reading with audiobooks to increase the effectiveness of sustained silent reading time in the classroom. The research findings related to assisted reading show that this intervention improves reading fluency and promotes comprehension for struggling readers (Estevas & Whitten, 2011). ... Children and young people's interactions at school with adults and their peers are crucial in supporting their learning. Research has shown that in areas of social disadvantage, at least 50% of children have delayed language. (Locke, A., Ginsborg, J., and Peers, I. 2002) however, it's important to note that children and young people from all areas and backgrounds can have delayed language. Clinical Pragmatics reflects an emerging awareness that some communication difficulties could not be attributed to 'purely' linguistic problems. For a long time before that, practicing speech and language therapists had worked with children and adults whose primary difficulties seemed to lie with the understanding and/or production of connected discourse. ('Relevance Theory and Communication Disorders' Eeva Leinonen and Nuala Ryder, 2008.) Communication is the basis of our lives and we would in this day and age, be handicapped without it.
