Who Is Smarter To Practice Social Specialist
There are two vital keys for all pioneers. One of them is the wellspring of specialist that they
practice over the colleagues. It is smarter to practice social specialist instead of the positional expert
on the grounds that in many occurrences, "Pioneers frequently do not have the specialist that
typically accompanies a position" (Parker, 2009). Individuals react better when influenced by the
pioneer rather than when they get bearings to do an assignment. The second key is a relentless
concentrate on the group's targets. As a pioneer, it is anything but difficult to meander from the key
targets of the collaboration particularly determined by the individual objectives of more compelling
and convincing individuals from the group. The powerful

Leith have the same typical river properties confirming to the Bradshaw Model? Aim: The overall
aim of the expedition is to compare the residential environments of the three sites along the River
Leith. We also compare the River Leith to the Bradshaw model and see if the River Leith does
follow the model of a typical river. This is done by measuring 20 sites in 3 river courses, the upper
course, the middle course, and the lower course, we then compare these results to the Bradshaw
Model and see if the River Leith has the typical properties of a river. We include our analyzing data
of How the River Leith Changes downstream? And How the River Leith differs between its upper,
middle, and lower course. Background The River Leith runs through Edinburgh to Leith's port. The

For example. Waterfalls and potholes are commonly found in the upper course, and are exceedingly
rare in the lower course. Meanders and Oxbow lakes are commonly found in the middle course, it is
caused by erosion and deposition, these factors causes the river to have a bend during its course.
Levees and flood plains are also frequently found in the lower course, there is a larger water
volume, therefore floodplains are created to adapt to it's new features, while features such as
meanders will not be affective, as it has a higher chance of flood, and erosion would also change the

Killer Of Sheep
A certain sincerity is present throughout Killer of Sheep; the performances are understated, the
scenery is commonplace, and the plot meanders, exploring life at its most mundane and most
recognizable. The repetition of the day–to–day, an aspect of reality missing from most films,
characterizes Killer of Sheep. Burnett's narrative is realistic in that, like us, his characters follow
seemingly random trajectories, their emotional highs and lows not choreographed to fit neatly into a
90 minute film. It's clear that Burnett isn't interested in storybook endings or last minute resolutions.
The film ends on much the same note that it began, with Stan shearing sheep, his relationship with
his wife unfixed, his wish to leave the processing plant

Driving On An Open Road
There's something incredible about driving on an open road and watching the scenery change while
listening to your favorite song or boarding an airplane and getting that sinking feeling in your
stomach while taking off, flying into a new adventure. These are some of my favorite things about
traveling; enjoying the journey not just the destination. Growing up my family didn't do much
traveling. Our travels consisted of short road trips, lots of laughter, fun and adventure. We weren't a
privileged family; we were quite the opposite. Although we lacked in the financial department, I
don't recall ever feeling like we did. This could've been because my head was always in the clouds
but it probably had a lot to do with how much love there is in our family. As I grew older I started to
take notice of where my friends were going to spend their summer or winter vacations. While mine,
were going to be spent mostly home. These were the times I spent dreaming about where I would
travel to if I only had the money. Fast forward to the first time I spontaneously planned a road trip
one summer. I didn't intend to go on a trip but I had recently seen pictures of a place called
Horseshoe Bend and I was utterly captivated by its beauty. Not only was it remarkable but a few
hours away. I was determined to visit Horseshoe Bend that summer and began preparing my trip.
While planning, I had so many questions: Where do I start? How do I get there? Where do I stay?
How long is my trip going to

Should Music With Curse Words Be Allowed At School Dances
Jesse Brock

Should music with curse words be allowed at school dances?
I think that music with curse words should be allowed in school dances. I think this because usually
songs without a couple curse words don't have a good beat. Songs with curse words have a really
good beat. Without a good beat the mood at the dance isn't very high because there is nothing to
dance to. Our school usually has a killer dance. There is a lot of people that are dancing and in the
gym. When a bad song comes on that doesn't have a beat or any curse words, everyone goes into the
lobby. They do this because the song flat out stinks. When they hear a good song come back on they

River Cliff: Erosive Effect Of Fast-Decoding Water
River Cliff: created on the outside of a meander bend by the erosive effect of fast–flowing water.
Saltation: material bounced along the bed of the river. Sedimentation: The settling out of suspended
particles from a body of water (or in some cases, very fine particles settled from the air or blown by
the wind). Slip–Off Slope: forms on the inside of a meander bend as a result of deposition in the
slower flowing water. Solution: some rocks such as limestone are subject to chemical attack and
slowly dissolve in the water. Source: where a river starts, usually in the mountains. Spur: a narrow
neck of highland extending into a river valley, often forming the divide between two tributaries.
Suspended Load: very small and light material,

Leonardo Da Vinci's Influence
Leonardo the Vinci's prominences, fame, and notability had a considerable amount of influence on
his work and inventions. There is no doubt that Leonardo had dozens of sources, and references at
his disposal. With his burgeoning talent, his father's status and wealth, working with substantial
masters from his time, and his afflictions with royalty. These factors must've had important
influences on his approaches on aberrant studies.
Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci, Leonardo da Vinci's father was a prominent attorney notary,
who introduced him to Andrea del Verrocchio. Verrocchio, was an Italian painter, sculptor, and

Bedrock River
If a river flows over bedrock, the bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility which can distort
the shape of the bends in the river (Hooke and Yorke 2011). Substrate influences channel form at the
reach scale, with bedrock channel found to be narrower and deeper than alluvial channels
(Whitbread et al. 2015). This means that the substrate the river is flowing over does have an effect
on what the river is doing. The bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility, which limits how
fast the river can meander. If the river is flowing over a substrate that is easily erodible, and then if it
erodes down to bedrock the river will become less sinuous.
Meandering rivers are not common in bedrock channels because bedrock channels are narrower and
deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread et al. 2015). The alluvial channels allow the river channel
to become wide and therefore the river is able to meander because its channel is so wide. Changing
the type of bedrock can influence the width and depth of the river (Whitbread et al. 2015). The
maximum width/depth ratio decreases with increasing fracture spacing (Whitbread et al. 2015). This
is because the fractures create a weak spot in the rock that allows the river to erode into those
fractures. Adding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The substrate that the river flows over has an effect on the interaction between groundwater and the
bottom of the river. If the river is flowing over an impermeable substrate e.g. shale, mudstone, any
crystalline rock etc. and then erodes through that impermeable substrate the river could cease to
exist. The substrate has a major effect on the river. The substrate can determine what type of river is
formed, how much sediment the river is transporting, how much erosion is occurring in the river etc.
The substrate is a very import factor when anyone is studying a

Actively Meandering Rivers
Tabata et al. (2003) used hydraulic geometry to describe morphodynamics of anastomosing
Columbia river. Jain and Sinha (2004) discussed about causative factors and mechanism of fluvial
dynamics of anabranching Baghmati river system. In their study they have observed that
anabranching phenomena of Baghmati river only occurs along middle river course. The authors
suggested that inability to transport high sediment load due to gentle channel slope and dominance
of aggradation processes are responsible for anabranching of Baghmati river. Luchi et al. (2007)
investigated small alpine river to monitor morphodynamics of channel. Their study reveals that the
longitudinal variations in grain size and slope largely determine the braiding intensity of channel
thus it signifluences in channel morphodynamics. Schimitt et al. (2007) analysed morphodynamics
typology of upper Rhine river basin based on multivariate statistical analysis. Hooke and Yorke,
(2010) asserted that the channel morphological changes are not only associated with the spatio–
temporal variations in discharge and channel processes but it largely follows the episodic autogenic
feedback mechanism. Sinha and Ghosh, (2012) studied dynamics of river channel in eastern Ganga
plain. Their study indicates that tectonic tilting, sedimentological readjustments are main causative
factors of channel dynamics in the eastern Ganga plain. Nicholas (2013) overviewed
morphodynamics diversity of the large alluvial rivers of the world. He

What Is Savannah: America's Most Haunted City
Elegant live oak tree branches drape over cobblestone streets, and the air is damp with salt.

Gemma Smith's Chessboard Paintings
Much like Gemma Smith's earlier chessboard paintings, Smith latest series follow the rules of the
game; the logic of a setting and the chance of thinking forward through space. However, in this
case, Gemma has completely redesigned the board.
"The process starts out in an incredibly open way with endless possibilities; the addition of each
plane of colour, however, progressively limits the work's evolution and, ultimately, when a painting
'works', it coalesces into a composition that is intuitive and carefully controlled." GS

Response One to “Criteria of Negro Art” Essay
Response One to "Criteria of Negro Art" W. E. B. Dubois's Criteria of Negro art leaves me with
mixed feelings. At times I find his arguments compelling, at others bitter, dichotomous, and overly
idealistic, yet throughout I find oftentimes found his prose refreshingly clear and at times even
beautiful. In addition, the essay seems to have a sense of urgency to achieve a purity of expression,
an external form to manifest the internal latent "Beauty in Black," an ideal to my mind at least,
reminiscent of the ancient Greeks who sought to emulate the metaphysical archetypes of truth,
beauty, and goodness. Nevertheless, then as now, art is also business, fraught with financial
constraints and racial biases to this day.

So, while he seems to allow for such aesthetic dichotomy within himself, het appears to demand
otherwise from artists of his own ethnic origins.
The aforementioned are perhaps his most compelling arguments consist of the fact that, yes, race
with its often concurrent circumstances, can and do limit options not only for the artist but art
appreciation. Secondly, I think he is right when he relates the ultimate futility of materialism;
however, I doubt that African–Americans, by virtue of the past, are any less susceptible to these
phenomena than their white counterparts. Indeed, even when the United States elected an African–
American President, while a turning point in American history, it didn't automatically herald a
Golden Age of enlightenment. If anything it was an anticlimax; it merely revealed that revealed
people are not their skin colors; and that we still have the same issue no matter what race or gender

transitional period whereby many were attempting to develop an authentic Australian architectural

societal reality of Melbourne at this time was that much of Australia's population still consisted of

This photograph was taken on a field trip to Elora Gorge. Elora Gorge is an important landscape in
Ontario and is also a prime example of significant change to a landscape by physical processes.
Largely, it is the result of erosion by water at the end of the last glacial period. The most recent
glacier over North America, the Laurentide Ice Sheet, resided almost all over Canada. Eventually,
the sheet melted, allowing water possessing a strong stream discharge to be released in numerous
directions. One of these melt–out pathways formed the Elora Gorge. Similar to how other gorges are
created, it was the energy of the river water rushing from the melting glacier that was able to cut
into the surface of the bedrock. Streams carved through

David Menander Relationships Between Men And Women
David Wiles uses comedies by Menander in order to display the roles of men and women in
classical Athens. In his opinion, the female role can be broken into two subcategories concubines
and undesirable vestal virgins. His main argument is that the modern definition of the word love was
not found in antiquity marriages, and that prostitution often gave men the desires and
companionship that they longed for. From the male perspective matrimony was just another form of
property that reaped benefits, such as running a household and providing heirs, but did not provide
companionship or fulfill desires.
Due to the fact that well born women spent such little time in public there would be no reason for
men to fall in love with the type of females they married. Instead Wiles argues that prostitutes,
especially those who were unpaid, were able to form relationships with men because they had more
time to connect with one another and could be found in public alongside each other. However, the
author does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no suggestion in the comedy that the boy has to marry the young woman. The young man's
father is not surprised that he wishes to marry for love. Which, can prove that this might not have
been a rare occurrence, and shows men could have married for 'love'. Lever gives examples of other
plays that display unmarried Athenian men in love with women who are known to be of citizen
birth. Both Brown, Walcot, and Wies define the term eros differently, so it is incredibly difficult to
establish what exactly constituted as 'love' for these people, and the social history of Athens is far to
dense to use comic drama as evidence for everyday life. Researchers can make valid arguments, but
they wont know exactly what these ancient Athenians felt. People cannot compare the word love in
the present culture to the erotic world in which Wiles

Flat Iron Mesa in San Juan County
Flat Iron Mesa is located in the heart of the Moab and Canyonlands area and enters San Juan
County. It is surrounded by the Hatch Wash Canyon to the west and the La Sal mountain range
towards the east. The vast features of the mesa and surrounding canyons demonstrate the remarkable
effects of millions of years of erosion on a landscape of mostly sedimentary rock. The mesa's
extensive landscape is covered with biological soil crust as well as an abundance of ephemeral
pools. The potholes throughout the mesa are naturally occurring basins in deposits of sandstone that
progressively collect rainwater and wind–blown sediment which gradually erode the underlying
rock; leaving a series of circular impressions along the mesa's floor. Weathering, geologic processes
such as erosion, and climatic shifts allow for this immense desert ecosystem to continually evolve
and change which has taken place for millions of years. This geologically wealthy environment is
composed of alternating flat–lying layers of soft and hard deposits of mostly sedimentary rocks.
Interchanging slopes and cliffs along the landscape helped form these layers of rock which can be
seen fully exposed in areas of the mesa. Deposition of this landscape mainly occurred during the
Permian, Pennsylvanian, Triassic and Jurassic time periods. The assortment of warm hues of
sandstone were produced by varying levels of iron oxide minerals during formation. For hundreds
of millions of years, geologic material

Friendship And Peace In Robert Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay
– The context of the poem is a political affiliation, but it can be taken anyway. The political
standpoint of the era this was written in, was the end of World War 1. Nothing Gold can Stay can
mean friendship or peace. The style of Nothing Gold Can Stay is lyrical because it is a musical
verse. It is expressing the writer's' innermost emotions and feelings towards the subject. Anybody
can take this poem and read it, but get different things out of it. Like, some people might think that
this poem is about actual seasons. It just depends on who you are and your mindset Nothing Gold
Can Stay by Robert Frost. There is no repetition in the first verse of Nothing Gold Can Stay.
Obviously, Frost is talking about how nothing precious can stay. When the war died, so did a lot of
friendships and peace. Friendships and peace are really precious to me and my family. They aren't
things you can just give up. Also, it was a couple of years before the Great Depression, "So Eden
sank to grief". Grief to me is depression. Eden– A metaphor for paradise. Frost gave paradise
human–like actions. When poets leave out information in the poem, that is when your imagination
starts to kick in. You imagine that you are in the poem and what you would do. You would look at a
beautiful sunset, look at a jaw–dropping constellation, or just sit there wondering if he is even sane.

Water Pollution Act ( Clean Water Act )
Iowa has been working for decades to protect and improve water quality; however, more can be
done. Our suggested strategy is to direct efforts to reduce nutrients in surface water from both point
and nonpoint sources in a scientific, reasonable, and cost–effective manner. Our proposal is
prompted by the 1972 Federal Water Pollution Act (Clean Water Act) as well as the 2008 Gulf
Hypoxia Action Plan. Both of these plan's objectives are to restore and maintain the chemical,
physical and biological integrity of the nation's waters by preventing point and nonpoint pollution
sources and seek to provide assistance to publicly owned water treatment facilities. The 2008 Gulf
Hypoxia Action Plan takes these goals one step further by calling Iowa and other states along the
Mississippi River to develop strategies to reduce nutrient loadings to the Gulf of Mexico. Moreover,
establishing that there needs to be at least a 45% reduction in total nitrogen, phosphorus, and
sediment loads in order for waters to be fishable and swimmable. Our proposal seeks to apply the
guidelines in these bills to the Fourmile Creek watershed in Central Iowa in order to make the
waters in 'our backyard' fishable and swimmable once again.
Floods are a natural part of Fourmile Creek's ecology and have been occurring for thousands of
years. Although floods periodically occur, in recent year's flooding has been extensive and has
affected many people living and working in the watershed. The floods of 2008

Naturalism in Miss Julie Essay
Naturalism in Miss Julie
Writers involved in the naturalist movement believed that actors' lines should be spoken naturally,
and that mechanical movements, vocal effects, and irrational gestures should be banished. A return
to reality was proposed, with the old theatrical attitudes replaced with effects produced solely by the
voice. There was a call to individualise characters, instead of generalising them, to produce
characters whose minds and bodies would function as they would in real life. Strindberg's 'Miss
Julie' has been said to be an excellent example of this movement, as it involves stress on multiple
motivation of action; a departure from the stereotypical depictions of character; and random,

There is also the bluntly overt exchange of lines such as, 'Beast!' 'Menial! Lackey!' 'Menial's whore,

perhaps only redeemed in the last minutes, when the stage action becomes solemnly symbolic. The
end of the relationship is represented by the decapitation of Julie's songbird; the sudden ring of the
Count's bell introduces a character that has been silent throughout, present only in spirit. Jean places
a razor in Julie's hand, and she walks out to her death in silence, as if in a hypnotic trance. Her death
is not as melodramatic or theatrical as her previous behaviour, so this goes some way to compensate
for earlier lapses.
Strindberg expressed an aversion to dividing his play into acts, as he believed that, "the declining
capacity for illusion is possibly affected by intervals, which give spectators the time to reflect and

assumption that by eliminating intervals, which act as breaks from the action, continuity would
improve, thereby increasing the intense nature of the plays action and creating a claustrophobic
environment. In order not to break the illusion, he also wanted to be rid of any musicians that the

Rossby Waves And Its Effects On Weather Processes
A wave which has a major importance for processes in our atmosphere is the Rossby wave. Rossby
waves, also called Planetary waves or longwaves. The waves are a natural phenomena in the
atmosphere and we can find them both in the atmosphere, and in the ocean. We chose to focus on

The Long Profile Of A River
Introduction
In this investigation, I will be investigating the changes along the long profile of a river. In order to
do this, I will be collecting data and making observations at three different points along the river;
the upper course, the middle course, and the lower course.
The river which I will be conducting my observations would be on Bartley Water. Bartley Water is a
river going through the New Forest which is located in the south of the UK, Hampshire. The source
of the river begins from Bartley, 109m above sea level, and joins to its end at Eling, flowing into
Southampton Water. The river has a length of 27km and a catchment area of 40sqkm. It is a tributary
of the River Test. The river bed contains of a mixture of sand, silt and clay which can change as the
river behaves due to erosion, transportation and deposition.
The sites which I will be investigating on are:
Site one is at Buskett's Lawn, grid reference: 309109
Site two is at Woodlands, grid reference: 325006
Site three is at Eling, grid reference: 362124
The surroundings of these areas differ at each site. Site one is mostly rural areas whereas, when it
moves onto the last site, it becomes an urban area. These will affect on the course and direction of
the river and its characteristics.
The long profile of a river describes how the characteristics of the river vary from the upper course
to the lower course. A quicker and easier way to present this idea is through a Bradshaw Model (see

Mississippi River Research Paper
On the Mississippi River about three hundred miles up from the mouth, there is a navigation lock
that allows ship to drop out of the river. In open resistance of nature they can descend as much as
thirty–three feet, then go to the west or south. This suggests a relationship between a river and
adjacent terrain. Cajun country is the adjacent terrain. The apex of the French Acadian world, forms
a triangle in southern Louisiana, its base the Gulf Coast from the mouth of the Mississippi just about
to Texas, with its two sides converging up by the lock. Local parishes like Pointe Coupee Parish and
Avoyelles Parish, the people of these parishes would call this the apex of the Cajun country. The
Atchafalaya River is 137 miles long.
The Atchafalaya kept on getting bigger and bigger till it finally captured the Mississippi. The

The meander bend was also the mouth of the Red River. For a couple of thousand year the Red
River had been a tributary of the Mississippi until the Atchafalaya caught it and took it away in the

Old River to quintuple the falls at Niagara Falls. New Orleans and Baton Rouge would be lost at the
Old River. The Army operation called the Old River Control. The navigation lock had been dug next
to a monument, where the Atchafalaya had trapped the Mississippi and bass were taking over. Like
the lock, the bog dam was fitted into the mainline levee of the Mississippi. Where they dug the
navigation lock, it exposed about a forty–foot vertical section of point–bar sands that were below
the mean low–water stage. The data from borings of the United States Army Corps of Engineers
allowed it to find limits of bar sand and close relations to enclosing alluvial

The Pros And Cons Of College Loans
There are three things that are guaranteed in this life; death, taxes and college loans. More and more
millennials are getting college loans or deciding to skip college entirely and immediately enter the
work force. This can inadvertently affect the psyche and relationships that young people build.
While Maria Konnikova and Robin Hennig covered a vast amount of challenges that a young person
faces in this day and age it seems that one important issue may have slipped through the cracks:
college loans. Loans have become a near necessity to anyone who wants to pursue high education.
Without them even the best of students would not be able to get into the illustrious institutions such
as FAU that provide these services. While most would probably just write this off and a necessary
evil that most people have to accept, they may be only taking it at surface value. The true problem
lies within the cycle that these loans cause. One must put take out a loan in order to get into college,
putting themselves or their parents in a form of debt. They then must work all the way through
college to get the degree they need in order to obtain the job that will kickstart their career and
provide them with funds which they then have to use to pay off said debt along with paying for
other utilities such as an apartment, food and car assuming that they moved out of their parents'
house after college thus beginning their "emerging adulthood." Loans can in a way become a
parasite affecting every

Social Specialist Over Positional Expert

  • 1. Who Is Smarter To Practice Social Specialist There are two vital keys for all pioneers. One of them is the wellspring of specialist that they practice over the colleagues. It is smarter to practice social specialist instead of the positional expert on the grounds that in many occurrences, "Pioneers frequently do not have the specialist that typically accompanies a position" (Parker, 2009). Individuals react better when influenced by the pioneer rather than when they get bearings to do an assignment. The second key is a relentless concentrate on the group's targets. As a pioneer, it is anything but difficult to meander from the key targets of the collaboration particularly determined by the individual objectives of more compelling and convincing individuals from the group. Geographical Theory Page 7– 4. Methodology Page 5. Results and Analysis Page Introduction Research Question: Does the Water of Leith have the same typical river properties confirming to the Bradshaw Model? Aim: The overall aim of the expedition is to compare the residential environments of the three sites along the River Leith. We also compare the River Leith to the Bradshaw model and see if the River Leith does follow the model of a typical river. This is done by measuring 20 sites in 3 river courses, the upper course, the middle course, and the lower course, we then compare these results to the Bradshaw Model and see if the River Leith has the typical properties of a river. We include our analyzing data of How the River Leith Changes downstream? And How the River Leith differs between its upper, middle, and lower course. Background The River Leith runs through Edinburgh to Leith's port. The river also runs through several hills and hill ranges starting at the Pentland hills, Hypothesis: 1. Levees and flood plains are also frequently found in the lower course, there is a larger water volume, therefore floodplains are created to adapt to it's new features, while features such as meanders will not be affective, as it has a higher chance of flood, and erosion would also change the feature very ... • 3. Killer Of Sheep A certain sincerity is present throughout Killer of Sheep; the performances are understated, the scenery is commonplace, and the plot meanders, exploring life at its most mundane and most recognizable. The repetition of the day–to–day, an aspect of reality missing from most films, characterizes Killer of Sheep. Burnett's narrative is realistic in that, like us, his characters follow seemingly random trajectories, their emotional highs and lows not choreographed to fit neatly into a 90 minute film. It's clear that Burnett isn't interested in storybook endings or last minute resolutions. The film ends on much the same note that it began, with Stan shearing sheep, his relationship with his wife unfixed, his wish to leave the processing plant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Driving On An Open Road There's something incredible about driving on an open road and watching the scenery change while listening to your favorite song or boarding an airplane and getting that sinking feeling in your stomach while taking off, flying into a new adventure. These are some of my favorite things about traveling; enjoying the journey not just the destination. Growing up my family didn't do much traveling. Our travels consisted of short road trips, lots of laughter, fun and adventure. We weren't a privileged family; we were quite the opposite. Although we lacked in the financial department, I don't recall ever feeling like we did. This could've been because my head was always in the clouds but it probably had a lot to do with how much love there is in our family. As I grew older I started to take notice of where my friends were going to spend their summer or winter vacations. While mine, were going to be spent mostly home. These were the times I spent dreaming about where I would travel to if I only had the money. Fast forward to the first time I spontaneously planned a road trip one summer. I didn't intend to go on a trip but I had recently seen pictures of a place called Horseshoe Bend and I was utterly captivated by its beauty. Not only was it remarkable but a few hours away. I was determined to visit Horseshoe Bend that summer and began preparing my trip. While planning, I had so many questions: Where do I start? How do I get there? Where do I stay? How long is my trip going to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Should Music With Curse Words Be Allowed At School Dances Jesse Brock Mr. Bertelsen English III 10 November 2016 Should music with curse words be allowed at school dances? I think that music with curse words should be allowed in school dances. I think this because usually songs without a couple curse words don't have a good beat. Songs with curse words have a really good beat. Without a good beat the mood at the dance isn't very high because there is nothing to dance to. Our school usually has a killer dance. There is a lot of people that are dancing and in the gym. When a bad song comes on that doesn't have a beat or any curse words, everyone goes into the lobby. Saltation: material bounced along the bed of the river. Sedimentation: The settling out of suspended particles from a body of water (or in some cases, very fine particles settled from the air or blown by the wind). Slip–Off Slope: forms on the inside of a meander bend as a result of deposition in the slower flowing water. Solution: some rocks such as limestone are subject to chemical attack and slowly dissolve in the water. Source: where a river starts, usually in the mountains. • 8. Bedrock River If a river flows over bedrock, the bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility which can distort the shape of the bends in the river (Hooke and Yorke 2011). Substrate influences channel form at the reach scale, with bedrock channel found to be narrower and deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread et al. 2015). This means that the substrate the river is flowing over does have an effect on what the river is doing. The bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility, which limits how fast the river can meander. If the river is flowing over a substrate that is easily erodible, and then if it erodes down to bedrock the river will become less sinuous. Meandering rivers are not common in bedrock channels because bedrock channels are narrower and deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread et al. 2015). The alluvial channels allow the river channel to become wide and therefore the river is able to meander because its channel is so wide. Changing the type of bedrock can influence the width and depth of the river (Whitbread et al. 2015). The maximum width/depth ratio decreases with increasing fracture spacing (Whitbread et al. 2015). This is because the fractures create a weak spot in the rock that allows the river to erode into those fractures. Adding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jain and Sinha (2004) discussed about causative factors and mechanism of fluvial dynamics of anabranching Baghmati river system. In their study they have observed that anabranching phenomena of Baghmati river only occurs along middle river course. The authors suggested that inability to transport high sediment load due to gentle channel slope and dominance of aggradation processes are responsible for anabranching of Baghmati river. Luchi et al. (2007) investigated small alpine river to monitor morphodynamics of channel. Their study reveals that the longitudinal variations in grain size and slope largely determine the braiding intensity of channel thus it signifluences in channel morphodynamics. Schimitt et al. (2007) analysed morphodynamics typology of upper Rhine river basin based on multivariate statistical analysis. Hooke and Yorke, (2010) asserted that the channel morphological changes are not only associated with the spatio– temporal variations in discharge and channel processes but it largely follows the episodic autogenic feedback mechanism. Sinha and Ghosh, (2012) studied dynamics of river channel in eastern Ganga plain. At times I find his arguments compelling, at others bitter, dichotomous, and overly idealistic, yet throughout I find oftentimes found his prose refreshingly clear and at times even beautiful. In addition, the essay seems to have a sense of urgency to achieve a purity of expression, an external form to manifest the internal latent "Beauty in Black," an ideal to my mind at least, reminiscent of the ancient Greeks who sought to emulate the metaphysical archetypes of truth, beauty, and goodness. Eventually, the sheet melted, allowing water possessing a strong stream discharge to be released in numerous directions. One of these melt–out pathways formed the Elora Gorge. • 18. David Menander Relationships Between Men And Women David Wiles uses comedies by Menander in order to display the roles of men and women in classical Athens. In his opinion, the female role can be broken into two subcategories concubines and undesirable vestal virgins. His main argument is that the modern definition of the word love was not found in antiquity marriages, and that prostitution often gave men the desires and companionship that they longed for. From the male perspective matrimony was just another form of property that reaped benefits, such as running a household and providing heirs, but did not provide companionship or fulfill desires. Due to the fact that well born women spent such little time in public there would be no reason for men to fall in love with the type of females they married. It is surrounded by the Hatch Wash Canyon to the west and the La Sal mountain range towards the east. The vast features of the mesa and surrounding canyons demonstrate the remarkable effects of millions of years of erosion on a landscape of mostly sedimentary rock. The mesa's extensive landscape is covered with biological soil crust as well as an abundance of ephemeral pools. The potholes throughout the mesa are naturally occurring basins in deposits of sandstone that progressively collect rainwater and wind–blown sediment which gradually erode the underlying rock; leaving a series of circular impressions along the mesa's floor. Weathering, geologic processes such as erosion, and climatic shifts allow for this immense desert ecosystem to continually evolve and change which has taken place for millions of years. This geologically wealthy environment is composed of alternating flat–lying layers of soft and hard deposits of mostly sedimentary rocks. Interchanging slopes and cliffs along the landscape helped form these layers of rock which can be seen fully exposed in areas of the mesa. Deposition of this landscape mainly occurred during the Permian, Pennsylvanian, Triassic and Jurassic time periods. • 29. Water Pollution Act ( Clean Water Act ) Iowa has been working for decades to protect and improve water quality; however, more can be done. Our suggested strategy is to direct efforts to reduce nutrients in surface water from both point and nonpoint sources in a scientific, reasonable, and cost–effective manner. Our proposal is prompted by the 1972 Federal Water Pollution Act (Clean Water Act) as well as the 2008 Gulf Hypoxia Action Plan. Both of these plan's objectives are to restore and maintain the chemical, physical and biological integrity of the nation's waters by preventing point and nonpoint pollution sources and seek to provide assistance to publicly owned water treatment facilities. The 2008 Gulf Hypoxia Action Plan takes these goals one step further by calling Iowa and other states along the Mississippi River to develop strategies to reduce nutrient loadings to the Gulf of Mexico. Moreover, establishing that there needs to be at least a 45% reduction in total nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment loads in order for waters to be fishable and swimmable. Our proposal seeks to apply the guidelines in these bills to the Fourmile Creek watershed in Central Iowa in order to make the waters in 'our backyard' fishable and swimmable once again. Floods are a natural part of Fourmile Creek's ecology and have been occurring for thousands of years. Although floods periodically occur, in recent year's flooding has been extensive and has affected many people living and working in the watershed. The floods of 2008 ... There was a call to individualise characters, instead of generalising them, to produce characters whose minds and bodies would function as they would in real life. Her death is not as melodramatic or theatrical as her previous behaviour, so this goes some way to compensate for earlier lapses. • 36. The Long Profile Of A River Introduction In this investigation, I will be investigating the changes along the long profile of a river. In order to do this, I will be collecting data and making observations at three different points along the river; the upper course, the middle course, and the lower course. The river which I will be conducting my observations would be on Bartley Water. Bartley Water is a river going through the New Forest which is located in the south of the UK, Hampshire. The source of the river begins from Bartley, 109m above sea level, and joins to its end at Eling, flowing into Southampton Water. The river has a length of 27km and a catchment area of 40sqkm. It is a tributary of the River Test. The river bed contains of a mixture of sand, silt and clay which can change as the river behaves due to erosion, transportation and deposition. The sites which I will be investigating on are: Site one is at Buskett's Lawn, grid reference: 309109 Site two is at Woodlands, grid reference: 325006 Site three is at Eling, grid reference: 362124 The surroundings of these areas differ at each site. More and more millennials are getting college loans or deciding to skip college entirely and immediately enter the work force. This can inadvertently affect the psyche and relationships that young people build. While Maria Konnikova and Robin Hennig covered a vast amount of challenges that a young person faces in this day and age it seems that one important issue may have slipped through the cracks: college loans. Loans have become a near necessity to anyone who wants to pursue high education. Without them even the best of students would not be able to get into the illustrious institutions such as FAU that provide these services. While most would probably just write this off and a necessary evil that most people have to accept, they may be only taking it at surface value.
