The Synthesis Of Nmofs And Other Ligand And Metal...
NMOFs from the Gd and BHC shows that it is possible to process unique NMOFs from the same
ligand and metal combinations by utilizing the multipurpose metal–ligand coordination modes.
The solvothermal approach for the synthesis of NMOFs was reported by two scientists. In their
research, they avidly investigated the transformation of the particle morphology during the synthesis
process. They added N, N–phenylenebis (salicylideneime) dicarboxylic acid solution which was in
DMSO to DMF solution which composed of two equivalents of Zn (OAc) 2. They observed that one
equivalent of zinc ions coordinates to the pocket of the salena and the remaining zinc ions
equivalent coordinates to metalloligands. They further heated the resulting solution at 120℃ for
thirty minutes. As the heating proceeded they discovered that the nanowires were changing into
nanocubes through the intrastuctural fusion and accumulation. They discovered that by varying the
reaction conditions they were capable of tuning the cubes' sizes. The smaller nanoparticle cubes
were obtained by reducing the solubility of the nanowires via application of poor solvent mixture or
lowering their temperatures.

scrap yard must know the identities of the metals before they can be recycled. It is also necessary to

the metals will be done using intensive properties. Intensive properties do not depend on the amount
of material present. Density is an intensive property found with the formula D=m/v. Which is
defined as mass divided by volume to find the density.
Procedure
First, each metal's description and weight was recorded. Additionally, the weights of each cylinder
used was recorded. Next, a graduated cylinder was filled with 20mL of water and unknown metal II
was fully submerged in the water 3 times. Each time, the volumes were recorded and the difference
between the final volume and initial volume was calculated. This test was repeated for unknown
metal IV.

Unknown I and V Masses
Unknown I was weighed 3 times in a graduated cylinder with 20 mL of water in it. Weight 1 came
out at 215.672g, weight 2 came out at 216.135g, and weight 3 came out at 216.362g. Averaging the
weights gave 216.056g.
Unknown V's weights came out at 74.065g, 74.623g, and 74.538g. Averaging the 3 weights yielded
74.589g.
Unknown I and V Volumes
Unknown I's 3 volume measurements came out to be 26.26 mL, 26.25mL, and 26.02mL. Averaging

This lab will introduce several key concepts surrounding metal reactivity as well as electronegativity
and periodic trends on the periodic table. Electronegativity by definition is a measure of the
tendency of an atom to attract a bonding pair of electrons. In a bond between atoms in a molecule,
the atom that is more electronegative will attract the bonded pair of electrons closer to it's own
nucleus. Reactivity refers to how vigorously or the likelihood of a element to react with other
elements or substances. Electronegativity can be used to determine the reactivity of a substance as
well as using ionization energy (how easily electrons can be removed from an outer shell). This lab
will allow us to look into the relative reactivity of metals. Relative reactivity means the reactivity
scale in order of decreasing reactivity between the 5 metals chosen above. The tests that allow us to

Already being known, Metallica moved its center of operation to San Francisco. This was where
they began to set up an enormous underground fan base. Having the advantage of coming first
before most thrash bands and also releasing albums before most of them were on the map meant
great success. By 1984 Metallica had already released "Kill 'Em All" and "Ride the Lightning" and

Abstract
The present study was taken up to identify trace metals as well as to assess the extent of
anthropogenic inputs into the Shimoga area. The Kallur mandli and Sagar road industial estate of
shimoga in and around collected sediment samples from ponds, channel and, river for present study.
The samples were analyzed heavy metals Viz., Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe. The obtained results
are compared with non–polluted sediments of near gadikoppa pond sample, which is away from the
industrial activity for used as back ground values. The study area samples exhibits higher
concentration of Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, Mn and Fe than the unpolluted values. Thus, industrial activity
has allowed the accumulation of certain heavy metals by transportation and deposition into
surrounding area of pond, channel and river sediment matrix. The contamination of the sediments
with metals at few locations is attributed to industries and other anthropogenic causes.

Release of heavy metals in the environment is one of the major pollution problems. Day by day
concentration of these metals is increasing in water supplies due to various industrial processing.
Different industries such as steel manufacturing, fertilizer and pesticide industry, leather tanning,
electroplating, metallurgy, mining and smelting of metalliferous, surface finishing industry, energy
and fuel production industries, electrolysis, electro–osmosis, photography, electric appliance
manufacturing, metal surface treating industries are mainly responsible for releasing heavy metals
into the environment , effluents of these industries are mainly loaded with heavy metals ions.
These heavy metals are very toxic for all living organisms even at very low concentration. Most
common examples of heavy metals are Zinc, Cadmium, Chromium, Arsenic, Lead and Copper.
Heavy metals are classified in three categories on the basis of nature of metal and its value and these
metals have higher specific weight usually more than 5.0 g/cm3 (Bishop, 2002; Volesky, 1990;
Wang & Chen, 2006).
1. Toxic heavy metals including Cr, Pb, Zn, Hg, Cu, Ni, Cd, As, Co, Sn, etc.,
2. Precious metals such as Pd, Pt, Ag, Au, Ru etc.
3. Radionuclides such as U, Th, Ra, Am, etc.
Extensive research has been done in previous years for the detoxification of heavy metal ions.
There are mainly three methods available for the removal of heavy metals physical, chemical and
biological.

In the 1980s there was a seeming uprise of various musical movements branching off from rock
style music. At this time there were many who gained attention by favoring pop rock music. There
were bands Like Rainbow, Uriah Heep and Judas Priest who considered themselves Metal music
however they seemed to favor commercial rock music to gain popularity and stay on the radar. And

NMOFs from the Gd and BHC shows that it is possible to process unique NMOFs from the same ligand and metal combinations by utilizing the multipurpose metal–ligand coordination modes. The solvothermal approach for the synthesis of NMOFs was reported by two scientists. In their research, they avidly investigated the transformation of the particle morphology during the synthesis process. They added N, N–phenylenebis (salicylideneime) dicarboxylic acid solution which was in DMSO to DMF solution which composed of two equivalents of Zn (OAc) 2. They observed that one equivalent of zinc ions coordinates to the pocket of the salena and the remaining zinc ions equivalent coordinates to metalloligands. They further heated the resulting solution at 120℃ for thirty minutes. As the heating proceeded they discovered that the nanowires were changing into nanocubes through the intrastuctural fusion and accumulation. They discovered that by varying the reaction conditions they were capable of tuning the cubes' sizes. The smaller nanoparticle cubes were obtained by reducing the solubility of the nanowires via application of poor solvent mixture or lowering their temperatures.
