Online Shopping vs. Brick and Mortar Shopping
Brick and mortar shopping and online shopping compare and contrast in many different ways. Some
of the ways are obvious such as one is online and one is an actual store, but there are others that
many different people would not even think about if they didn't shop in both settings regularly.
Knowing the benefits of online shopping and shopping in store can not only save a person the hassle
of getting out when something may be better to get online, but it can also save a person tons of
money knowing which setting to buy certain things from. For instance, during certain times of the
year store may offer exclusive savings on certain products if you buy them online and buy them
together. This kind of promotion can save you massive amounts of ... Show more content on

Also, when shopping online with coupons you do not have to deal with an associate during the
checkout process. Sometimes an in store associate will argue with you about whether or not your
coupon is legitimate or if that coupon can be used on the item in your cart. When shopping in store
you can use paper coupons and sometimes printed coupons. Also, some stores will let you stack a
manufactures coupon with a coupon put out by that particular store. This means that you can use
two coupons towards the purchase of one item. The store coupon is considered the same as an in
store promotion therefore allowing you to use a manufactures coupon as well. This can increase
your savings dramatically. Online shopping and shopping in a brick and mortar setting compare and
contrast by sales convenience, and coupon use. Online shopping and brick and mortar shopping
have many different elements associated with each of them that many different people do not
realize. Writing them down in an organized manner helps one to see all of the great differences and
comparatives between the two. When shopping online there are great benefits such as exclusive
sales, the convenience of not having to leave the house to get what you need, and that you can use
exclusive online coupons. In comparison to this when shopping in a brick and mortar setting you
can take advantage of in store exclusive sales and promotions, you can ask the

Shopping: The Pros And Disadvantages Of Online Shopping Today
Online shopping has become a popular shopping method ever since the internet has declared a
takeover. I can say that online shopping is a trending way to shop nowadays. In facts, statistic shows
that 65% of people prefer online shopping and 35% of them choosing direct shopping. Research
were made from OpenMindsResources.com said that 29% of internet user will spend their time 1 to
2 hours just for shopping online every day. 87% of them preferred to use websites as a platform,
32% likes to use Facebook and 11% love to shop using smartphones. I am sure that everyone

Despite the success of purchasing through online shopping stores, there are still some disadvantages
that we as consumers should think and evaluate. Insecurity and lack of trust in online transactions
are also major problems in online purchasing. We need to make sure that keeping your web usage
private are all smart ways to address any privacy and security issues. Besides, we can't try things on.
For example, if we are buying a clothing item, we don't have the ability to feel the material, try it on
and see how it is made. This is because online stores are only showing product description and
photos of the merchandise. Moreover, students are wasting their money on shopping. For example,
students nowadays use their pocket money to shop or else they used their scholarship, PTPTN for
shopping. As a result, they will broke until the end of the semester. Have you experienced of that?
However, online shopping requires patience to wait for the item to arrive at your door step about 2

We all know that shopping at stores requires us to go to mall or department stores in buying supplies
and spend our money. Now we live in the age of internet and buying things can now be done by
clicking a mouse. Because of the numerous benefits of shopping online more and more people these
days prefer online shopping over conventional shopping. But which one gives us the best benefits?
Our discussion centered on three differences between shopping at stores and shopping online.
Our first point of discussion is the dissimilarity between shopping at stores and shopping online is
time. Shopping in the stores spend more time than shopping online. A trip to the mall could take two
to three hours including transportation time. You must spend ... Show more content on

Many internet companies operate as online retailers only which means they don't have to pay any
intermediaries such as distributors and they don't have to hire sales people. Thus, they can pass some
of the savings to the customers by offering reduced prices. Internet also enables the customers to do
price comparisons in an instant, thus, they can buy from the online retailer that offers the best prices.
Internet companies are aware of this thus, they price their inventory competitively. Moreover,
companies get bigger audience of their products online so they often put clearance products on sale
and offer other deals to clear out inventory faster. Moreover, most customers are also able to save on
taxes because taxes are applicable only if the online retailer operates in the same state as the
customer. Shopping mall retailers have higher costs because not only they have to invest in physical
property but they also have to hire sales people and managerial staff. Their audience is only limited
to the number of visitors in the shopping mall at any time. Thus, they are forced to generate higher
sales per customers which mean higher prices on the average. It's also more expensive for the
visitors to compare prices in terms of both cost and time, thus, the shopping mall customers are at a

Online Shopping And Traditional Shopping
Shopping can be enjoyable for some people; however, it can also be a burden for others. The
preference of the shopper really determines whether or not they have a pleasant experience and the
time to look for their items. There are many similarities as well as differences with online shopping
and traditional shopping. The main factors that I will be discussing are convenience, discounts and
item availability.
Convenience is really a significant factor with both types of shopping. As of the 2011 Time Survey,
the average American spends about 43.2 minutes per day shopping, which is down from 48.6
minutes per day in 2003. (Hines, 2012) Online shopping is convenient for purchasing items at the
click of the mouse. Although online empires, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both shopping methods offer convenience in different ways that is solely at the preference of the
individual consumer.
Discounts are offered by both online and traditional shopping. Cyber Monday is vastly becoming as
popular as Black Friday, and for some, more popular. The world of retail has certainly raised their
game with regard to discounts and sales on merchandise, both online and traditional, to attract
customers. Retail centers will offer discounts to a certain number of customers first to arrive. Many
online sellers will offer free shipping in addition to sales and discounts to compete. A consumer can
save a considerable amount of money by researching an item they want to purchase to obtain the
best deal. In addition, online sellers feature lower prices because they do not have the overhead costs
such as rent, utilities and sales people. In comparison, retail centers will slash prices to compete
against online retailers. Another savings with online shopping is that a consumer might not have to
pay sales tax based on their residency. (Torres, 2017) Coupons and gift cards can be applied with
either method of shopping allowing further discounts off regular priced items.
Item availability is significant for online shopping. There is no shortage of shelf space when you
shop online. Another factor to consider is when a consumer is looking for an old or unique item,
they can just google it and purchase it. As such, a consumer spends less time

Disadvantages Of Shopping
Shopping is a favorite activity among females, whether at malls or online. Many women feel an
emotional high while visiting a retail store and often use shopping as a personal form of therapy.
While shopping brings happiness to many, it also creates dangers by generating an addiction to
consuming, giving a false hope of completion, and draining numerous bank accounts. There is an
electrifying thrill associated with walking through a mall and purchasing a new personal item or
simply window shopping. According to Dawson, Bloch, and Ridgeway, stores are often visited for
personal enjoyment and not always with a particular item in mind (410). The reasons for shopping
trips may often be to relieve stress, reward oneself for a job well–done, or to merely enjoy a day off.
If a female has had a taxing day at work, she may visit one of her favorite retail stores to treat
herself to a new top, pair of shoes, or a brand–new color of lipstick. Her emotional levels will
change from frazzled too pleased in an instant, as she enters the mall and begins to shop. Similar, to
how a child might spend hours watching tv to make themselves happy, several females spend hours
looking at household pieces they fancy and multiple other material items that interest them.
Individuals do certain activities that cause them to feel good about themselves; and for some that's
devoting their entire day to the mall or splurging on a new sofa. The excitement levels that come

Is Shopping At The Mall Or Online Shopping?
Nowadays, many people like shopping very much whether man or woman. Shopping can be defined
as an activity to buy item that we like at the shop. As we know that nowadays we are always looking
for the best and stylish for our lifestyle and we can find it in our shopping activities. Shopping
activities also can reduce our stress after a long time working out and can relaxing our life from
moody and mundane day. In the modern lifestyle nowadays, there are many ways that we can
shopping, which is shopping at the mall or online shopping. The questions now, which is the best
way of shopping? It is online shopping or shopping at the mall?
Online Shopping basically the people buy the item through internet services like Facebook,
Instagram and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, It is clearly seen when the shopping mall is located at the capital town which is
become people attraction. When we go to the shopping mall, usually the items that sale are
expensive. Although the prices is expensive but almost the items at the shopping mall are good
quality and have a great brand. The promotion seldom happen in shopping mall. It happen usually
when had festival events. In addition, the customer hard to predict the promotion is going to be held
unless they have to go the shopping mall. But it is not sure whether on that day, the promotion is
held or not. Besides, Shopping mall is a place which many people visit it here and sometime it is
crowd and will make the customer take more time. For example if we have to attend a meeting but
we have trapped in traffic jam after having shopping. So, it surely disturb daily work. And for sure,
we have to drive to the shopping mall and have to round all over the mall looking for our items. So,
our time will be wasting just like that for shopping. Moreover, at the shopping mall, the varieties of
items that we want is limited. As we know, not all things offered in a shop otherwise only offered
certain thing that we want. This is because we have to survey with different shop based on what
thing we are looking for. For example, one shop only sales 2–3 items and it was not enough for us to
make best choose.
As the conclusion, for me shopping online is the best way of shopping because it is easier than go to
the shopping mall. Therefore, the price is quite cheap for the ordinary person like me. It also can
save my time wisely and give me good opportunity to get the varieties item to choose. I think I had
choose the right choice that give more benefits for shopaholics like me.
And shopping online could also save our car's petrol which need money to fuel it back than

CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW This chapter reviews the related literature and conceptual
framework of this study. The literature review cover the shopping behaviour, shopping value,
consumer's decision making styles, perceived shopping mall image, shopping mall brand loyalty and
consumer segmentation. The conceptual framework of this study will be explained in the end of this
chapter. 2.1 Shopping behaviour This section is attempts to provide an explanation on consumer
shopping behaviour by review the previous study on the previous literature. Shopping is one of the
distinct activities of consumer behaviour (Tauber, 1972) and shopping behaviour is a distinctive

Also according to Zaffar, Ghingold, and Zainurin (2006), two consumers may shop at the same
stores for similar reasons, e.g. convenience, courteous help nice décor, etc., but one consumer my
find shopping a burden, something to be done quickly within a minimum of effort while another
may enjoy shopping, engaging in it as sport by achieving the satisfaction of buying a desired item at
a bargain price. This latter consumer does not mind spending time searching for alternatives.
Shopping involves much more than eye–sight and foot. That is what Paco Underhill (1999, p 161)
said, "shopping is... the kind of activity I mean involves experiencing that portion of the world that
has been deemed for sale, using our senses – sight, touch, smell, taste, hearing – as the basis for
choosing this or rejecting that...virtually all unplanned purchases – and many planned ones, too –
come as a result of the shopper seeing, touching, smelling or tasting something that promise
pleasure, if not total fulfillment." It can seen that individual go shopping for some other reasons,
beside to acquire a product, they also shop for non–purchase reasons such as looking for social
interaction, sensory stimulation, learning for new rends and even exercise. That is, consumer can
shop for utilitarian reasons related to achieving specific purchase goals. Alternatively, they can shop
for hedonic reasons related to having fun.

As a tool available to a fairly wide public, the internet is only twenty years old, but it is already the
key catalyst of the most extensive and fastest technological revolution in history. The internet, the
single most powerful agent of change in recent history, In the words of Arthur.C Clarke, "any
sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," ("Quotations Page: Quote from
Arthur C. Clarke," n.d.)The rapid pare and reach of the change wrought by the internet indeed has a
touch of magic about them. There are two main ways to go shopping in our daily lives. One is
shopping online; another is shopping at the real shop. As a matter fact, shopping online is a new way
for people to go shopping. Online shopping is better than shopping at the shop in some ways in my

Up until the mid 1990s, most modern–day developers built enclosed shopping malls in order to
create a climate–controlled shopping environment. Today, developers are returning to the creation of
open–air shopping malls. Outlet malls, shopping centers featuring name brand retailers selling their
products at discounted prices, are often built in an open–air format.
Types of Shopping Malls
In general, you will find only regional centers, superregional centers, and fashion/specialty centers
on this Web site. Relatively few community centers were chosen, but appear here because the center
may have, at one time, been considered a regional center. Only a few theme/festival centers were
listed in heavily urbanized areas, such as San Francisco, because of their particular attractiveness or
size. Finally, the new designation, lifestyle center, displays because of their classic–mall type
appearance even though they are without a classic–mall anchor store.

Online Shopping Versus Traditional Brick-and-Mortar Shopping
Online Shopping Versus Traditional Brick–and–mortar Shopping
Consumers are making purchases daily. There are a number of occasions and reasons prompting
people to shop. Special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays all contribute to
retail sales. Sustaining one's daily life through purchase of food, clothing, personal hygiene products
and cleaning products also contributes to the economy through commerce. How do most people like
to shop? In recent years a new alternative to the traditional brick–and–mortar shopping, online
shopping, has increased in popularity. "U.S. e–commerce sales grew from 72 billion U.S. dollars in

This ensures a quick bargain without even having to get dressed to leave the house. People are able
to shop for nearly anything while in their pajamas. Sometimes consumers just do not feel like going
out and fighting the crowds to find the perfect birthday or wedding present. Black Friday is a prime
example. Many people avoid all traditional brick–and–mortar shopping the day after Thanksgiving
because of the overwhelming crowds and instead opt for Cyber Monday and enjoy shopping from
the comfort of their own home, workplace, or mobile device. What if it is unrealistic to wait for a
certain product? Even with expedited shipping, online shopping is not practical in certain situations.
Even though all grocery shopping can be done online, what happens when a parent runs out of
formula for their baby or need milk for their children's cereal the next morning? Waiting anywhere
from a day up to two weeks is not realistic. What happens when an outfit is bought online, and once
it has been received the clothing it does not fit? Online shoppers must go through the return process
and wait for the company to send out a new size or refund their money. In the traditional shopping
setting, patrons are able to try on clothes and therefore eliminate having to exchange them because
they do not fit. The possibility of receiving the wrong item altogether is much higher with online
shopping than with traditional

Online Shopping And Shopping
Warren Buffet once said that 'do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after
saving'. The quotes tells us to be wise in spending money as the world today provides various ways
to buy things such as online shopping and shopping at the mall. As I look back on my experience to
buy items via online shopping and shopping at the mall, there are three features that I compromise
which are the knowledge of items, the time taken to purchase items and the period to receive the
items officially.
Firstly, in terms of knowledge of items, shopping at the mall provides more details than online
shopping to the buyers. Online shopping displays limited details of items in the website. Anyone
who decides to buy things online will normally purchase the items that they know based on the
criteria of the items that fulfills their wills. The criteria will be judged by the buyer based on the
details provided by the online seller in the website such as Zalora. For instance, a buyer who wants
to buy a dress via online shopping can only know the size of the dress but it is not impossible ...

This is because all the buyers should do when they buy things at the mall is to make payment before
they own the things as well as online shopping. By shopping at the mall, once the buyers paid for
the items, the items will totally be theirs and they do not have to wait for the items to be posted to
their address as opposed to online shopping. Online shopping provides post service which takes a
long time usually three days and above to reach the buyers' address. For instance, a girl have to
attend for an event which requires her to have a dress within two days. If she decides to buy it
online, she will not be able to receive the dress and probably could not attend the event with a new
dress. This shows that shopping at the mall provides a shorter period for the buyers to receive the
items

A Research Study On Shopping

"What we need to do is always lean into the future; when the world changes around you and when it
changes against you – what used to be a tailwind is now a head wind – you have to lean into that and
figure out what to do because complaining isn 't a strategy" (Jeff Bezos). Shopping is always
changing, just as everything else around us. Shopping has gone as far back as the 1500's. Since then
it has changed a great deal, at first shopping was just trading anything you found had the same value
as the thing you wanted. Over the years things changed and the people that owned shops were
mostly owned by craftsmen such as carpenters, bakers, butcher, and blacksmiths. Centuries have
passed and shopping became the pastime for most people more and more people spent their time
looking for items with their friends and families. In the 20th century more and more people started

Online Shopping Advantages
Advantages of Online Shopping
Shopping has changed a lot in the past few decades. Globalization has ensured we have more choice
available – you can buy Indian food in Canada or sing Japanese tunes in the UK. But it's not just that
we are able to shop more goods, we also shop differently. Long gone are the days when we walked
into a store to pick our goods. Nowadays, we take our laptops or smartphones and browse the
internet, shopping for the things we want with a few clicks of a button.
But is shopping online just the new normal we have to accept? Could it actually be a beneficial way
of shopping? Let's consider the advantages of online shopping.
We have more variety
As mentioned, variety has increased in recent decades thanks to globalization. But the true enabler is
the internet. Brick–and–mortar stores would never be able to house so many foreign goods all over
the world – the easiest way is to have an online store and to then utilize the fast global shipping
channels.
The variety of online stores is not confined with space – you can have hundreds of products from the
same brand or from hundreds of different brands all under the same roof. If you want Asian skin
care products, then you can find them.
Variety isn't just about the availability of different brands, products or services. You can even make
more conscious decisions in terms of how you shop. If you want to find organic food or makeup, the
Internet has made it easy for you to do so. Even if you don't want

Online Shopping Vs. Store Shopping
Online shopping vs in–store shopping
Thesis: Online shopping is better than in–store one and will have more customers in the future.
Since the internet came out and developed, online shopping has become important parts of many
people. With the rapid development of the Internet in the world, more and more people began to
start online shopping due to its convenience, time–saving and benefits. For the definition, Online
shopping is an act of purchasing items or services on the Internet and has grown in popularity over
years. Narrowly speaking, it can be understood as searching online information and having online
deals. But broadly speaking, if one section of shopping is finished online, it will be regarded as
online shopping. What you need to learn is just to click your mouse and to wait instead of going out
by foot or driving. According to a recent survey, people in favor of online shopping are far more
than those in favor of in–store shopping. Abramovich shows his survey for behavior of shopping
that: "Seventy–two percent of Millennials research and shop their options online before going to a
store or the mall."(Abramovich) The fact that people choose online shopping more than in–store one
also shows in the Percentage of GDP 2016. "Experts estimate the share of the internet economy in
the GDP of the United States to reach 5.4 percent. The developed market average is projected to be

problems in the online shopping. Though products are generally cheaper in the online store,
sometimes the addition of a shipping charge makes the total price similar or more expensive than

delays in shipment. Though the period of selecting, buying and paying for an online product may

monopoly. People shop on Taobao and the stores get franchised to put their products on Taobao.

The Importance Of Online Shopping
Downsizing, bankruptcy, and closure are words plaguing the retail industry. Large retail chains are
being forced out of business because of the newfound popularity of online shopping. Jack Snyder
has a first–hand relationship with these words. As an electronics sales manager for Sears in a small–
town mall, Jack was forced out of his job when his store closed. After many successful years with
the company, it came as a shock to him to not only lose his store and job but to not be offered
something else within the company. Although he isn't a real person, Jack's situation has become
increasingly prevalent across the world in the last several years to actual retail workers. Due to their
popularity, online shopping giants will lead to the demise of traditional retail stores and ultimately
cause an economic disaster.
The problem started becoming increasingly important when online retailers like Amazon made their
way into the lives of many consumers. As more people became proficient with technology and the
internet, the popularity of online shopping increased. Online shopping giants like Amazon and eBay
are destroying the economy by enticing shoppers to spend their money online, rather than at an
actual retail store. The problem has deep roots in people's desire to be informed before making
purchases. As seen in the article, "Bricks or Clicks," 44 percent of consumers do some type of
research about a product before purchasing it in a store (Sunil, 2013). Much of this

An Investigation Of Online Shopping
Introduction:
An investigation of online shopping and how does it influence NTIC students' daily life.
Observations have shown that there has been a rapid development in an economic world. We have
witnessed a tremendous change about shopping online. According to UCLA Center for
Communication Policy (2001), online shopping has been regarded as the third most prevalent
activity on the Internet, only followed by e–mail and website usage. It plays an important role, not
only in retail stores, but also in people's lives. There are more and more people who have begun to
choose this way of shopping. However, a reasonable way to use Internet for shopping could offer
convenience in people's daily life. Relying on online shopping too much may cause a lot of risks
more than the retail sector, for instance, if a student buys a defective dress from an online company,
and it turns out to be fraud, it is nearly impossible to trace it and get your money back, whereas it
does not happen in the case of a local shop. Also there is a chance of finding bargains in local retail
sector. In this research, the influence of online shopping for the International students in NTIC will
be studied.

Online Shopping Is Better Than Traditional Shopping
Nowadays with the ever rapid development and increasing popularity of the information technology,
shopping on the internet has been a fashion especially among the youngsters. But some people think
brick and mortal stores are better than online stores. In my opinion, online shopping has more
benefits in modern capitalist countries. Although traditional shopping can buy merchandise directly,
online shopping is not only more convenient for people to buy it, but it is easier to compare goods
than traditional shopping, and it also promotes economic development and promotes the
development of other industries.

Although traditional stores are good for urban construction, online shopping can bring more
economic benefits. According to Resnick, we can know that in shopping malls there was a great
decline in shoppers and transactions (p.1127). With the rise of the Internet, online retail is becoming
more and more popular in India, and it lead to a lot of important online retailers and others entering
online business (Tandon, pp.1657–1658). As we all know, every year the double eleven breaks the
record of trading volume. This year, people spent 16.82 billion RMB on the day of the double
eleven. That means online shopping is becoming increasingly important, and more and more people
are shopping on the internet, and it also means that other related industries are developing well.
Especially, online shopping has promoted the development of express delivery industry. In china, a
few years ago, it is difficult to deliver a package and many places cannot receive it. But it changed
now, many express companies appeared and the express route is getting better. People can easily get
their express from all over the world. What's more, many people start businesses on the internet,
because opening an online store is cheaper than opening a store. They do not need to pay expensive
rents and spend large amounts of money to decorate their store, so that saves the cost of opening a

Introduction:
Shopping, by definition, is the act of "purchasing goods and services from physical stores". After the
creation of online stores, shopping was not restricted anymore to physical shops. In fact, the internet
is playing a major role in people's lives and somehow trying to control it. Will online shopping
compete with mall shopping or will it simply complement it? This question is subject to a variety of
opinions. Some might think that online shopping is replacing store shopping and is going to
eventually lead to a decrease in malls and stores while others believe that they simply complement
one another, and this will lead to an increase in shopping. The following research is carried out to
prove that no matter how much the internet has influence on people's lives, it will never replace
malls and traditional stores. This implies that online stores are there to support and complement mall

The Advantages Of Online Shopping Vs. Traditional Shopping
Many people have felt the way I've felt after a long day of work and school, all you want to do is lay
in bed and relax, but you have to go shopping; or, you're at work scrolling through the internet and
see the perfect pair of shoes, well in my case heels, usually I think to myself "I have to have those".
Here's the only problem that I usually encounter, the stores are closed by the time I get off of work,
but I can always purchase those pairs of heels online. Most people would say that online shopping
and traditional shopping are exactly the same thing, will with my experience they're totally different
from each other.
According to shop navigator "one of the main advantages of online shopping is the elimination of
the need to drive somewhere to buy something." Which is true you don't have to waste your gas just
to go to the mall when you can just get what you want online. Another advantage would be the
reviews that you get to read about the products that are online; when you're at the store it's hard to
actually trust the salesperson, because it's their job is to sale you the item. I don't know about most
people; but, when I'm shopping for clothes I don't look for the most expensive clothing store, it's
quite the opposite actually. I used to shop at this store online called "Wish", mainly because it was
cheap and some of the clothes had great quality; but, before I'd actually buy the item I'd scroll down
to the reviews section and over the years that's been a huge help.
With every advantage there's a disadvantage, and online shopping certainly has a lot of them. One
major disadvantage would be fraud, which is related to my number one rule "never post your credit
card information online". When you're shopping online you don't know who's trying to steal your
information and you don't know if you'd actually get the stuff that you purchased; according to
Investopedia "PayPal states that your information is encrypted with the highest level commercially
available"; but can we really trust that, there's always a loophole with situations like this.
Another problem that I'm currently aware of from previous experience is security. A couple of
months ago I ordered two iPhones from T–Mobile, I was notified of their

Shopping online can easily be done while sitting in front of the TV or lounging on the sofa. With
payments being made online as well, a person can just sit back, relax and wait for the package to be
delivered. An online apparel store usually draws in customers by offering better prices and offers for
quality products. By having an online store, they can save on monthly expenditures which allow
them to offer clients good value for their money.
Better Variety
Shopping online often offers better variety. Not only can you find them for affordable rates, but most
of them allow you to get limited edition items that you might otherwise have missed out on.
Availability
Nothing can be more frustrating for a person to go to a shop only to realize that the item they wanted
is out of stock and might be restocked at a vague date. This not only makes you unreasonably angry,
but it also means that you have to keep taking time out to check if they have got the item you want.
Online stores eliminate the chances of this happening by placing out of stock signs next to the
product.

Online Shopping Disadvantages
Worldwide online shopping has been increasing considerably by nearly $100 billion in the US and
Europe from 2014 to 2017 (Prashar, Vijay and Parsad 2016, p28). The issue of whether it is
beneficial to the society or not has been discussing recently. Some people say that it is
disadvantageous due to risks in transaction and security, however, others believe that online
shopping offers convenience, business, and many other benefits. It is an important and interesting
topic because not only does it have influence over the society but also the development of the
economy. This essay will argue that the advantages of online shopping dominate over its drawbacks.
First of all, online shopping is so convenient that people are getting used to purchasing products on
it than that in offline stores. It plays a big role in saving time and human energy in daily life. These
days, people, especially women, are becoming busier every day not only with their work at offices
but also with their household chores and families making spending time in shopping malls a difficult
task for them to do. Meanwhile, online shopping allows customers to buy products with any devices
from home either from far distances or any kinds of products from food to clothes. Moreover, many
online stores are 24/7 available and the products are even delivered right in front of their houses,
which probably help buyers' lives more comfortable and easier (Sinha & Singh 2016, p. 64).
Customers are no more wasting time on tiring and annoying queues, especially on some occasions
like Black Friday or Boxing Day. Shopping online is even more favourable because it enables
customers' privacy. There is something that users often find very ashamed to buy in front of others'
eyes. Consequently, online stores appear as the best way for them to buy those kinds of products
confidentially by sitting at home and browsing the Internet, which traditional shops can never have.
Therefore, not only does online shopping give customers privacy in shopping but it also helps them
feel more pleasant and compatible to satisfy their personal needs (Sinha & Singh 2016, p. 64–66).
Secondly, online shopping gives people greater variety of choice (Sinha & Singh 2016, p. 64). One

Shopping And Online Shopping : Brick And Mortar Shopping
Introduction
Shopping has become easier to do now that almost everything is electronic. When it's time to go
back to school shopping, all you have to do is hop on the computer and find what you need, and
have it delivered to your home. This makes it easier for parents with small children or even parents
who live in Weatherford away from major shopping centers. Brick and mortar shopping took place
in a storefront only; so, if you were looking for something specific and they didn't have it, you
would have to order it online and ship it to the store anyway. Now that stores have decided to utilize
the internet people can do the ordering from the comfort of their own homes. My hypothesis is that
online shopping will make brick and mortar shopping obsolete. While there are benefits to shopping
online, there are also many downsides which will be discussed later on.
Research Method During the process of writing this paper I used Business Insider and Forbes as
much as I could. I tried using the school database to my advantage but the information I needed
wasn't on the database I tried to use. When I used Google, I looked for companies that have closed
due to heightened profits online. I researched what the history of online shopping was and how it
started. Then I looked for businesses that have taken a dip in net revenue to review if they have
benefited from online sales.
History of online shopping Before we talk about anything else, let's get a brief history of
eCommerce.

Online Shopping Conduct And Internet Shopping Essay
INTRODUCTION
Online shopping is almost to synonymous to customary shopping through brick and mortar stores.
As indicated by UCLA Center for Communication Policy, online shopping has been rising as a
standout among the most famous web exercises, marginally behind e–mailing and internet surfing
and in addition surpasses online entertainment search and online news. Online shopping conduct
(additionally called web purchasing conduct and Internet shopping/purchasing conduct) implies to
the procedure of buying merchandise/goods or services by means of the Internet. In a standard
online shopping procedure, potential customer's see/feel/sense a necessity for some good or service
and they approach to online shopping to search about the product/service and make a purchase
decision to gratify the need. In some cases, instead of looking for intentionally, once in a while
potential customers are pulled in by information about merchandise or services joined with the felt
need. They then evaluate decisions and pick the specific alternative that best fits their criteria for
meeting the obliged need. Finally, the purchase is made and post–purchase services are given. In this
term paper I explore the various attitudes, behaviors and traits exhibited by consumers during this
online purchase decision, factors which facilitate and influence their decision making. Online
shopping behavior here also refers to consumers' psychological state and intent in terms of making
purchases on the Internet

Shopping at Home vs. Shopping at Store It is the year of two thousand and fifteen–the 45th years
after Internet was first invented. Internet is developing in an incredibly speed, so does the online
business. People can accomplish more without stepping out of their houses. Imagine what if we are
carrying bulk of cash to pay our tuition instead of paying online. Since Internet greatly facilitates the
process of paying and choosing, online shopping has become the couple top shopping preferences.
Some people love online shopping because online shopping is easier, cheaper, both money and time
saving. Meanwhile, some people don't like online shopping because they think online shopping is
unsafe, not reliable, and bad for economy and retails are irreplaceable. This paper will focus on the
advantages and also the disadvantages of online shopping. Why online shopping is cheaper?
"Because products come to you direct from the manufacturer or seller without middlemen involved"
(Freddawson, 2012). In the chain of retailing, a big portion of cost goes into to the labor, rent, and
other expenses. Also, the middleman or seller are going to increase the selling prices based on the
buying prices. As a result, customers are paying more for the products themselves' value. If the
retailing goes online, the chain is being trimmed. The shorter the chain, the closer the price that the
customers can get compare to the buying price.

Disadvantages Of E Shopping
The electronic shopping design is winding up logically common. People nowadays can get all that
they require on the web, for instance, pieces of clothing, books, staple products, et cetera. Electronic
shopping is another sort of development float that people are getting subject to the grounds that it
makes people's life less requesting and extras them time. Clients can visit web stores from the
comfort of their own home and shop while they are sitting behind their PC. Various online clients
don't have to lounge around inertly on shopping any more.
Web shopping has experienced quick advancement in the midst of the present years as a result of the
exceptional purposes of intrigue it offers for buyers. While it is up 'til now nice to stop by a store to
touch and see the things, the convenience of online shopping can't be beat. Also, for a couple of
organizations, for instance, booking travel or obtaining show tickets, the ability to do all things
considered online has made the system essentially not so much requesting but rather more
beneficial. I assume that there are particular central focuses and hindrances of web shopping. People
watch web shopping to be useful, effective, and a better than average way to deal with get things
that would some way or another be slippery in stores. Another favored angle people can benefit by
web shopping is the ability to examine others' reviews of a thing. Online reviews and partner

Compare And Contrast Shopping Online And Online Shopping
So many people find shopping at a store is a fun thing to do while other people find shopping online
a better and a smarter option to purchase things. Online shopping is more convenient. Online
shoppers have been increasing so much during the last few years. However, shopping at a store and
shopping online are different in so many ways. Shopping online gives people the opportunity to buy
anything and everything whenever the person feels like it. Online shopping is a smart way to shop
and buy things a person wants because online merchants will save a lot of time. Most people don't
enjoy spending endless hours shopping, whether in a store or online, and it is always nice to get
these experiences over with as soon as possible. This is one of the main reasons why online shipping
has become so popular, as it allows you to switch stores and products by clicking a button rather
than traveling to another store. People don't always have the time to go to the store and buy items.
For example, people think that its quicker to just visit a store and pick up items or supplies the
person needs then go back home, but it takes way more time that just sitting at home using a mouse
and a computer to buy like clothes, food and so many other items. Sometimes people might be busy.
They probably might have a job or school they have to go to then they won't be able to go to the
store and buy merchandise. Shopping online saves people time since they don't have to drive to the
store, fill their gas tank with gas, and they don't have to deal with trying to catch the bus or wait in
line while they are trying to just get the items they want and leave. Online shoppers usually make
the right decision. All they have to do is search the item they are looking for and it's there. Once
shoppers find the item they want, they can order it whenever they choose to. Shopping online is a
way people can save some money. Shopping online helps you maintain your budget. Brick and
mortar stores are laced with deception and hidden gimmicks to entice you to spend money. Stores
are commonly laid out with expensive products placed at eye level so you're more likely to notice
them. Shoppers can always get promo codes for websites to help them save money and

Thus, they can pass some of the savings to the customers by offering reduced prices. Internet also enables the customers to do price comparisons in an instant, thus, they can buy from the online retailer that offers the best prices. Internet companies are aware of this thus, they price their inventory competitively. Moreover, companies get bigger audience of their products online so they often put clearance products on sale and offer other deals to clear out inventory faster. Moreover, most customers are also able to save on taxes because taxes are applicable only if the online retailer operates in the same state as the customer. Shopping mall retailers have higher costs because not only they have to invest in physical property but they also have to hire sales people and managerial staff. Their audience is only limited to the number of visitors in the shopping mall at any time. Thus, they are forced to generate higher sales per customers which mean higher prices on the average. The preference of the shopper really determines whether or not they have a pleasant experience and the time to look for their items. There are many similarities as well as differences with online shopping and traditional shopping. The main factors that I will be discussing are convenience, discounts and item availability. Convenience is really a significant factor with both types of shopping. As of the 2011 Time Survey, the average American spends about 43.2 minutes per day shopping, which is down from 48.6 minutes per day in 2003. Cyber Monday is vastly becoming as popular as Black Friday, and for some, more popular. The world of retail has certainly raised their game with regard to discounts and sales on merchandise, both online and traditional, to attract customers. Retail centers will offer discounts to a certain number of customers first to arrive. Many online sellers will offer free shipping in addition to sales and discounts to compete. A consumer can save a considerable amount of money by researching an item they want to purchase to obtain the best deal. In addition, online sellers feature lower prices because they do not have the overhead costs such as rent, utilities and sales people. In comparison, retail centers will slash prices to compete against online retailers. Another savings with online shopping is that a consumer might not have to pay sales tax based on their residency. (Torres, 2017) Coupons and gift cards can be applied with either method of shopping allowing further discounts off regular priced items. Item availability is significant for online shopping. There is no shortage of shelf space when you shop online. Another factor to consider is when a consumer is looking for an old or unique item, they can just google it and purchase it. While shopping brings happiness to many, it also creates dangers by generating an addiction to consuming, giving a false hope of completion, and draining numerous bank accounts. There is an electrifying thrill associated with walking through a mall and purchasing a new personal item or simply window shopping. The reasons for shopping trips may often be to relieve stress, reward oneself for a job well–done, or to merely enjoy a day off. If a female has had a taxing day at work, she may visit one of her favorite retail stores to treat herself to a new top, pair of shoes, or a brand–new color of lipstick. Her emotional levels will change from frazzled too pleased in an instant, as she enters the mall and begins to shop. Similar, to how a child might spend hours watching tv to make themselves happy, several females spend hours looking at household pieces they fancy and multiple other material items that interest them. Firstly, in terms of knowledge of items, shopping at the mall provides more details than online shopping to the buyers. Online shopping displays limited details of items in the website. Anyone who decides to buy things online will normally purchase the items that they know based on the criteria of the items that fulfills their wills. • 82. The Importance Of Online Shopping Downsizing, bankruptcy, and closure are words plaguing the retail industry. Large retail chains are being forced out of business because of the newfound popularity of online shopping. Jack Snyder has a first–hand relationship with these words. As an electronics sales manager for Sears in a small– town mall, Jack was forced out of his job when his store closed. After many successful years with the company, it came as a shock to him to not only lose his store and job but to not be offered something else within the company. Although he isn't a real person, Jack's situation has become increasingly prevalent across the world in the last several years to actual retail workers. Due to their popularity, online shopping giants will lead to the demise of traditional retail stores and ultimately cause an economic disaster. The problem started becoming increasingly important when online retailers like Amazon made their way into the lives of many consumers. As more people became proficient with technology and the internet, the popularity of online shopping increased. Online shopping giants like Amazon and eBay are destroying the economy by enticing shoppers to spend their money online, rather than at an actual retail store. The problem has deep roots in people's desire to be informed before making purchases. As seen in the article, "Bricks or Clicks," 44 percent of consumers do some type of research about a product before purchasing it in a store (Sunil, 2013). Much of this ... • 118. The Advantages Of Online Shopping Vs. Traditional Shopping Many people have felt the way I've felt after a long day of work and school, all you want to do is lay in bed and relax, but you have to go shopping; or, you're at work scrolling through the internet and see the perfect pair of shoes, well in my case heels, usually I think to myself "I have to have those". Here's the only problem that I usually encounter, the stores are closed by the time I get off of work, but I can always purchase those pairs of heels online. Most people would say that online shopping and traditional shopping are exactly the same thing, will with my experience they're totally different from each other. According to shop navigator "one of the main advantages of online shopping is the elimination of the need to drive somewhere to buy something." Which is true you don't have to waste your gas just to go to the mall when you can just get what you want online. Another advantage would be the reviews that you get to read about the products that are online; when you're at the store it's hard to actually trust the salesperson, because it's their job is to sale you the item. I don't know about most people; but, when I'm shopping for clothes I don't look for the most expensive clothing store, it's quite the opposite actually. I used to shop at this store online called "Wish", mainly because it was cheap and some of the clothes had great quality; but, before I'd actually buy the item I'd scroll down to the reviews section and over the years that's been a huge help. With every advantage there's a disadvantage, and online shopping certainly has a lot of them. One major disadvantage would be fraud, which is related to my number one rule "never post your credit card information online". When you're shopping online you don't know who's trying to steal your information and you don't know if you'd actually get the stuff that you purchased; according to Investopedia "PayPal states that your information is encrypted with the highest level commercially available"; but can we really trust that, there's always a loophole with situations like this. Another problem that I'm currently aware of from previous experience is security. A couple of months ago I ordered two iPhones from T–Mobile, I was notified of their ... • 131. Online Shopping Disadvantages Worldwide online shopping has been increasing considerably by nearly $100 billion in the US and Europe from 2014 to 2017 (Prashar, Vijay and Parsad 2016, p28). The issue of whether it is beneficial to the society or not has been discussing recently. Some people say that it is disadvantageous due to risks in transaction and security, however, others believe that online shopping offers convenience, business, and many other benefits. It is an important and interesting topic because not only does it have influence over the society but also the development of the economy. This essay will argue that the advantages of online shopping dominate over its drawbacks. First of all, online shopping is so convenient that people are getting used to purchasing products on it than that in offline stores. It plays a big role in saving time and human energy in daily life. These days, people, especially women, are becoming busier every day not only with their work at offices but also with their household chores and families making spending time in shopping malls a difficult task for them to do. Meanwhile, online shopping allows customers to buy products with any devices from home either from far distances or any kinds of products from food to clothes. Moreover, many online stores are 24/7 available and the products are even delivered right in front of their houses, which probably help buyers' lives more comfortable and easier (Sinha & Singh 2016, p. 64). Customers are no more wasting time on tiring and annoying queues, especially on some occasions like Black Friday or Boxing Day. Shopping online is even more favourable because it enables customers' privacy. There is something that users often find very ashamed to buy in front of others' eyes. Consequently, online stores appear as the best way for them to buy those kinds of products confidentially by sitting at home and browsing the Internet, which traditional shops can never have. Therefore, not only does online shopping give customers privacy in shopping but it also helps them feel more pleasant and compatible to satisfy their personal needs (Sinha & Singh 2016, p. 64–66). Secondly, online shopping gives people greater variety of choice (Sinha & Singh 2016, p. 64). One of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When it's time to go back to school shopping, all you have to do is hop on the computer and find what you need, and have it delivered to your home. This makes it easier for parents with small children or even parents who live in Weatherford away from major shopping centers. Brick and mortar shopping took place in a storefront only; so, if you were looking for something specific and they didn't have it, you would have to order it online and ship it to the store anyway. Now that stores have decided to utilize the internet people can do the ordering from the comfort of their own homes. My hypothesis is that online shopping will make brick and mortar shopping obsolete. While there are benefits to shopping online, there are also many downsides which will be discussed later on. Research Method During the process of writing this paper I used Business Insider and Forbes as much as I could. I tried using the school database to my advantage but the information I needed wasn't on the database I tried to use. When I used Google, I looked for companies that have closed due to heightened profits online. I researched what the history of online shopping was and how it started. Then I looked for businesses that have taken a dip in net revenue to review if they have benefited from online sales. As indicated by UCLA Center for Communication Policy, online shopping has been rising as a standout among the most famous web exercises, marginally behind e–mailing and internet surfing and in addition surpasses online entertainment search and online news. Online shopping conduct (additionally called web purchasing conduct and Internet shopping/purchasing conduct) implies to the procedure of buying merchandise/goods or services by means of the Internet. In a standard online shopping procedure, potential customer's see/feel/sense a necessity for some good or service and they approach to online shopping to search about the product/service and make a purchase decision to gratify the need. In some cases, instead of looking for intentionally, once in a while potential customers are pulled in by information about merchandise or services joined with the felt need. They then evaluate decisions and pick the specific alternative that best fits their criteria for meeting the obliged need. Finally, the purchase is made and post–purchase services are given. In this term paper I explore the various attitudes, behaviors and traits exhibited by consumers during this online purchase decision, factors which facilitate and influence their decision making. Since Internet greatly facilitates the process of paying and choosing, online shopping has become the couple top shopping preferences. Meanwhile, some people don't like online shopping because they think online shopping is unsafe, not reliable, and bad for economy and retails are irreplaceable. This paper will focus on the advantages and also the disadvantages of online shopping. Why online shopping is cheaper? "Because products come to you direct from the manufacturer or seller without middlemen involved" (Freddawson, 2012). In the chain of retailing, a big portion of cost goes into to the labor, rent, and other expenses. Also, the middleman or seller are going to increase the selling prices based on the buying prices. As a result, customers are paying more for the products themselves' value. If the retailing goes online, the chain is being trimmed. Online shopping is more convenient. Online shoppers have been increasing so much during the last few years. However, shopping at a store and shopping online are different in so many ways. Shopping online gives people the opportunity to buy anything and everything whenever the person feels like it. Online shopping is a smart way to shop and buy things a person wants because online merchants will save a lot of time. Most people don't enjoy spending endless hours shopping, whether in a store or online, and it is always nice to get these experiences over with as soon as possible. This is one of the main reasons why online shipping has become so popular, as it allows you to switch stores and products by clicking a button rather than traveling to another store. People don't always have the time to go to the store and buy items.
