8. Q9 What Questions do you want to
ask the Closing Panel on the Future
of Telecom Application Development
• What is your view about telco app market in 2020 - will it exist? Will it just be part of
Apple and Google's stores?
• We've struggled working with telcos, can they really change or should we focus on our
direct channel?
• APIs beyond voice, billing and messaging, e.g. profile, require us to work with telcos, but
we need national/global APIs, can new Telco APIs succeed?
• Can telcos really work with developer partners? Currently its just words not deeds, its not
a good situation.
• Aggregators deliver the Telecom APIs we need, are telcos relevant beyond providing
wholesale services to aggregators?
• Is AT&T and Orange's 'go it alone' approach to APIs sustainable?
• Will WebRTC replace Telecom APIs?
• Is building to RCS APIs worth the investment? There are no country-wide APIs, is it alive
or dead?
• Why is WebRTC so complex compared to everything else in HTML5? Why are there so
many confusing tools for WebRTC?
• Is USSD viable in developed markets? Iphone support of USSD is 'patchy.'
• What will be the popular TAD use cases in 2015 and beyond?

9. Questions 10-12
• Q10 Who are the 3 people / organizations you most want to
meet at TADS?
– Top 3 categories: Developers, Carriers, Technology Vendors.
Obvious but is shows the focus is across the ecosystem.
– On named individuals almost everyone one of the presenters
got a vote, but Khairil from Axiata came top by a whisker
• Q11 What are the 3 things you want out of TADS
– Networking was the dominate requirement
– The next 3 were all around the same importance: Leads,
Discover new services, and Find partners
• Q12 Overall Agenda Comments
– Focus on case studies is the dominant requirement, and keep
vendor marketing to a minimum.

12. Questions 15-16
• Q15 What developer communities are you involved with?
– A very good comment made by several respondents is most
communities are about info distribution, so developers are members
of many online communities
– It was a long list covering Github, Apple, Android, TADS and even some
telco communities with Dialog coming top given its focus in
TADSummit.
• Q 16 How do you find business?
– This backs up the important of networking in Q11. And the
importance of getting the content online to support people’s online
marketing campaigns.
