Collaboration subjects of the
Language Assistant
In our school, we teach the four compulsory secondary
education levels and all of them have subjects in English.
You can see here the distribution of English subjects for
levels:
-1º ESO: P.E., BIOLOGY.
-2ºESO: P.E., TECHNOLOGY, HISTORY, ART.
-3ºESO: P.E., TECHNOLOGY, ART, BIOLOGY.
-4ºESO: P.E., HISTORY.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to have knowledge on these
subjects! Our teachers will explain to you what they need,
and you will just have to prepare activities in English.
Your presence in the classroom mainly must help students
speak in English as the language of communication in that
subject.
Norms, Resources and Materials for
Language Assistant collaboration
We have a Bilingual section in our school’s blog where you
can see what our previous Language assistants did. The
blog is: ipncastilleja.blogspot.es
In that same blog you can see the school rules, plans,
programmes, schedules, etc., but don’t hesitate to ask the
coordinator if you have any queries.

Information about the neighborhood
and city (video)
Castilleja is a small town near Seville. It has historical
importance, as it is the birth town of Hernán Cortés, and
here you can visit the Palace of the Dukes of Montpensier,
two major churches and some historical estates. It is also a
town with many bars and a wide gastronomical offer.
Besides, it is so close to Seville (10 minutes by bus) that
you can enjoy the best of two worlds: the quiet of a small
contry town and the lively city life and its feasts, such as
Holy Week and the Feria de abril.
You can learn Spanish while you are having breakfast with
our teachers in the bar next to the school and also attend
Spanish lessons in Seville for a more structured learning
process.

- Possibility of car-pooling with other teachers, whether you
live in Seville or in one village from the Aljarafe (Castilleja,
Gines, Tomares, Bormujos, Umbrete).
Accommodation -If you work in our school, you can live in many places: in
Castilleja, in a nearby village (Tomares, Gines, Bormujos,
…) or in Seville (especially in Triana or the City Centre, as
you can get to the school by bus very easily and you will
live next to the main attractions of the city).
- There are many rental websites (idealista, milanuncios,
fotocasa, …), forums and also people who rent their
houses. It’s easy to browse the web and find offers which
might interest you. If you have doubts concerning the area
of the flat or the prices, we might help you. Usually, your
programme provides contact with other linguistic auxiliaries
in the city so that you can share a flat.
- It has never been done, but if you are interested, we
could give the school community the opportunity to
welcome you into their families in convenient conditions for
both you and the family. Also, some teachers come from
other locations and might want to share with you.
Contact with other language
assistants or mentor
- We will provide the contact of assistants who have
previously been collaborating in Castilleja. You can also
check our blog to see activities from the Bilingual section
(ipncastilleja.blogspot.es)
Previous Experiences published
publicly from prior language
assistants
-As we have already said, our assistants have participated
in the school’s blog: ipncastilleja.blogspot.es. We are
creating a new webpage for the school, but it is still in
progress. In the blog, you can see previous works done by
the auxiliaries in the sections “Bilinguismo” and “Auxiliares
