My name is Dr Alison Wilding and I recently took out a 1st Central car insurance policy. I filled out my application online and my 1st Central car insurance policy documents duly arrived in my inbox. No problem, or so I thought.
1st Central Car Insurance contacted me a a few weeks later to say that due to a misrepresentation on my part involving a claim from March 2012, my policy was void and 1st Central Car Insurance would keep ALL of the annual premium I had paid.
1st Central Car Insurance also told me that effectively my car had never been insured with 1st Central Car Insurance at any point – so I never had any cover at any point but they’re still keeping my money.
I explained to 1st Central Car Insurance that my failure to disclose the March 2012 claim was an innocent oversight, certainly not misrepresentation, but 1st Central Car Insurance were adamant – no car insurance and no refund.
1st Central Car Insurance were well aware by this point that the March 2012 insurance claim which I had forgotten to inform them about amounted to £350 .... Yes folks, £350 was too much for 1st Central Car Insurance ! Read on for more....
1st Central Car Insurance are part of a larger group based in Guernsey – I wonder why they’re based there ? Could 1st Central Car Insurance be monkeying around with our tax laws ? Could it be possible that 1st Central Car Insurance are another one of those amoral corporate entities that shaft the little guys, avoid tax, and pay out to fat cats – I’ll let you decide on that, but I know what I think !
I’m not the only person unhappy with 1ST Central Car Insurance – not by a long way – here is a typical thread about 1st Central Car Insurance, one of many I could have chosen, but it will give you a feel for the desperate level of customer support and commitment you can expect from 1st Central Car Insurance : http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?247424-1ST-Central-Car-Insurance
I have had to take out a new policy at much greater cost, because technically I have now had a policy voided by 1st Central Car Insurance which makes me more of a risk to other insurers. I have been driving for around 30 years, and have never encountered anything like the treatment I have received from 1st Central Car Insurance. They made me feel like a criminal, and if this document stops one person from taking out a policy with 1st Central Car Insurance then I will feel a lot better.
1st Central Car Insurance are a big company who think it’s ok to mess customers around.
1ST Central Car Insurance take weeks to answer emails, if they bother at all
In my humble opinion, 1st Central Car Insurance should be investigated by the Insurance Ombudsman – but don’t hold your breath.
So ..... In summary...................
