Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication
In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience
in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having
well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of
writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again,
analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing
the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader.
In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online
English course. Each writing assignment...show more content...
Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more
academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the
discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT
Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is
chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing.
Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently
in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in
different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the
formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the
public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the
formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing
my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the
world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard.
Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a
decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). The formality

Persuasive Essay On My Writing Style
Among words on paper, one hardly finds oneself to question their particular style or preferences in
writing. I as a writer can tell you how the basis of my "madness" works, but who are we joking, that
would just be utterly extensive and boring. Within the different types of genres one person can write
about, I find persuasive, argumentative, and research/informational writings to be the most
appealing. I tend to be a very opinionative person, meaning that if I hear any of some sort of injustice
or intriguing thought said, don't think twice of hearing my stance on that topic. Therefore, especially
with persuasive essays, I will always find my pen promptly trying to catch up, while my thoughts
keep rushing in, in order to get on paper. It's a formative writing piece, that I can easily state my
claim and through using accurate information, will no longer be an assignment, more or less it will
turn into a conversation between my writing and my thoughts. Nevertheless, when it comes to...show

I don't know if not being an imaginative individual may be at fault, but ever since I pick up my
first writing utensil I was not a fan of writing on the spot. When I always hear the dreadful words
coming from an English teacher, "Well class, today we will be having a free–write", my heart drops.
Fear, of the possibility of being the last individual writing, encountering multiple issues from
knowing what to write about to what shall be the focus of the story. Perhaps, my inability of writing
any creative piece can be layback to the constant issue of knowing where and how to start and finish.
Nonetheless, moving away from genres, my ultimate weakness would have to be mechanics. I mean,
I understand the basics of noun, verb, punctuation, and so forth, but I regularly find myself
re–reading my writing pieces over and over and still finding everlasting

Persuasive Essay On Strength
My Behavior Change topic will be gaining strength. This behavioral topic has became my goal for
strengthening my muscles on a physical outlook on working out. There are a lot of ways increase
muscle strength, such as a caloric surplus and supplements. I want to bench two hundred twenty–five
pounds for five repetitions on a smith machine. Muscular strength refers to "The amount of force a
muscle can produce and is usually measured by the maximum amount of force a muscle can produce
in a single effort maximal effort". (Very Well) The more force you can generate will increase your
strength. When training for strength, you should be lifting heavy weight in which you can only
doing three to seven repetitions. Also, working on maxing out on your weight, which means pushing
yourself until failure.
When I first began training for strength, the weight was low because I was continuously in a caloric
deficit and not training for strength. "A calorie surplus leads to weight gain. The type of weight you
gain (muscle vs. fat) is entirely dependent on how much you eat and how much you exercise. Since
muscle growth is limited to 10–15 pounds per year, increasing calorie intake beyond a certain point
leads to body fat rather than muscle gains." (Strength Health) Your body needs more calories to
growth and gain strength. So, if you don't eat enough, you will never obtain your goal. Since being
in a caloric surplus of five hundred calories, my strength has increased. "A calorie deficit is a

How To Write A Persuasive Paper
The importance of writing, I found, was in what you wrote about and its purpose, writing helps
you get your ideas on paper and improve simply things like sentences, punctuation, spelling, and
grammar. There are many types of writing for different purposes, for this semester we focused on
persuasive and research papers, but there is also poetry, fiction, creative, narratives, and even more..
I feel I have grown as a writer in the organization, wording and lead–ins of papers. I also feel I have
improved in my vocabulary and using different words to give the same meaning.
The greatest writing accomplishments, I noticed in my persuasive and research papers were in
connecting to the topic and lead–ins. In the research paper I improved in leading into the topic. My
research paper was about cloning and in it I stated, "Ian WIlmut, a embryologist, and Keith
Campbell, a cell biologist and embryologist, state in their book, The...show more content...
I liked how I used word phrasing in the persuasive paper. In the persuasive paper you had to
discredit the opposing side, I did this by stating, " Some parents and students argue that these
books should be banned, but they are mistaken and misrepresenting the view of the book". For
this I used different words and sometimes different orders to describe similar things and make it
sound more educated and believable. In addition, something I found good in my paper was my
discussions of the topics. In the persuasive paper about banning books I made a topic about why
they shouldn't be banned, saying, " ...taking these books off the shelves and out of schools they are
taking away students' First Amendment rights to choose what books they want to read". I used
good discussions to make my point about the topic and persuade people to see the way I wanted
them to. Conclusively, the persuasive paper was my favorite out of all the papers completed this

Decisions can make lives take a turn for the better or the worse. People are usually tasked with
many choices in their lives, so eventually a wrong decision will occur and people will wish they
had not chosen incorrectly. While bad selections may happen, that is what living is about: making
mistakes and learning from them. Many people in this society have regrets. Regrets can stem from
anything: buying the wrong food or turning left when the GPS said to turn right. Whenever someone
makes the wrong choice, the first thing they do once they realize the consequences of their actions
is start regretting their decision, hoping they could go back in time to change what they had done.
Sadly, time travel is not possible at this point in time, so people must be able to deal with remorse
and not let it get to them. Regret can be a very difficult thing to keep at bay. For example, from the
book, tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom, Morrie was a professor dying of ALS. He has suffered
for months, slowly losing his ability to use his body parts, but he was still joyful. He saw all of
the beautiful things in life and was most likely happier than most of the people around him,
despite the fact that he was very ill. However, guilt still seeped into Morrie's life and affected him.
Morrie had a friend named Norman; Morrie and Norman were very good friends, Norman even
making a bust of Morrie as a gift at one point. They swam together and took rides to New York.
Morrie then says, "Norman

Persuasive Essay On Change In Life
Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to
live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it.
Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the
day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most
fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be
healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are
different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful
lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new
lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it,
giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the
successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even
acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle
change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs
to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being
aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the
necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission
of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether
the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep
schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the
decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in
class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend
it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even
more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time

How To Write A Persuasive Essay
Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a
difficult and boring thing. However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment,
"Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me.
In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each
paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this
assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition
words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything
is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph
should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I
learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example,
using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It also can make
readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make
each paragraph be connected from this assignment....show more content...
I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that
using the quote or data can make the theme of an essay be stronger and more persuasive. For
example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be
Waste Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only
can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers agree with writer's thinking. Thus, I've
learned to use the quote to make my essay to more

Writing A Persuasive Essay Analysis
I've chosen the form of a persuasive essay that would be published in a school library targeting
early adulthood. The reason why I have chosen this form of writing is because I'm able to use a
formal language. This is to include real life examples that allows me to express the topic even
more so it makes it easier for the audience to understand. I've chosen early adulthood as the
audience because I feel like they can relative this piece more than younger children because they
are more exposed to changes in identity and may find it harder to belong to certain groups as they
grow up. The very start of my piece I start to write in first person using words like 'we' and 'our' as

provided differ from course to course because each of my classes are based on different topics.
Like my drug and alcohol class will have more writing assignments that the professor will

course the problem and questions brought to our attention will vary. Well my major is

is why people behave the way they do and what triggers them to act a certain way. I have taken a
lot of online classes so with most of these course you must write essays or lots of response so to
make your writing interesting I have always liked to add problems and questions to spice up my
work. I like to come up with my own questions and try to see others opinion and see if they have
the same questions I may have or it may give them some ideas to think in my way. But I always do
find supporting details to follow my questions. My introductions unfold with transitions and by
having a thesis or I start it off with question

My interview was supposed to take place in my high school, Pleasanton High School, but plans
changed. My teacher that I wanted to interview went to Montana for the week, so instead I texted
her. Mrs Straub is my journalism teacher. She is tall, has black curly hair, and lushes eyelashes. We
have gotten close this year, and seeing her do her job as well as she does it, made me rethink my
future career.
Growing up I had always wanted to be a teacher, but something last year changed... I got braces.
Suddenly I became fascinated with how the orthodontists work. I am just torn now because, I don't
know which one to choose. This interview should help me right? I'll get to ask Mrs. Straub questions
about her work, and that should help me choose.
When asked what types of writing styles are required for teaching English Mrs. Straub said, "I have
to write professional emails using academic language to co workers every day. Also I have to be
able to explain in writing what I plan to teach for the week in my lesson plans. I have to write
emails to parents detailing assignments in a way they can clearly understand my expectations. I
have to write clear objectives, so that my students know our mission for the class period." Not
going to lie, I already knew the answer to the question. I was hoping that maybe there was more
writing to teaching then what she explained to me, but this isn't a bad thing. This seems like a fairly
easy task to do with this job.
The next question that I asked

Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate
actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay
needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed,
I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as
well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the
weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these
suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive
essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay
would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not
being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that
wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be
persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the
experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your
readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing
your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument
was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why
I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this
helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would
have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but
one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more
clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my
clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a
persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers
can have a full understanding of your

right decision. I believe that Captain Chesley Sullenberger did in fact make the correct decision to

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good
essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a
passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I
have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with
an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of
school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First
things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content...

"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be
graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr.
Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and
about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose
and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already
rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death
penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly
making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line.
I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a
tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk.
Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such
desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle
was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward
to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked
everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Week One Overview Everything you write has a purpose. Informal emails, texts, memos, essays,

Writing A Persuasive Essay
These represent the most serious omission students regularly make. Every essay or paper designed
to be persuasive needs a paragraph at the very outset introducing both the subject at hand and the
thesis which is being advanced. It also needs a final paragraph summarizing what's been said and
driving the author's argument home.
These are not arbitrary requirements. Introductions and conclusions are crucial in persuasive writing.
They put the facts to be cited into a coherent structure and give them meaning. Even more important,
they make the argument readily accessible to readers and remind them of that purpose from start to
end.
Think of it this way. As the writer of anessay, you're essentially a lawyer arguing in behalf of a client

The point is to give your readers no choice but to adopt your way of seeing things, to lay out your
theme so strongly they have to agree with you. That means you must be clear, forthright and logical.
That's the way good lawyers win their cases.
A. How to Write an Introduction. The introduction of a persuasive essay or paper must be
substantial. Having finished it, the reader ought to have a very clear idea of the author's purpose in
writing. To wit, after reading the introduction, I tend to stop and ask myself where I think the rest
of the paper is headed, what the individual paragraphs in its body will address and what the general
nature of the conclusion will be. If I'm right, it's because the introduction has laid out in clear and
detailed fashion the theme and the general facts which the author will use to support it.
Let me give you an example of what I mean. The following is an introduction of what turned out to
be a well–written paper, but the introduction was severely lacking:
The role of women has changed over the centuries, and it has also differed from civilization to
civilization. Some societies have treated women much like property, while others have allowed

Steps In Writing A Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again, analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader. In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online English course. Each writing assignment...show more content... Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing. Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard. Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). • 4. Persuasive Essay On My Writing Style Among words on paper, one hardly finds oneself to question their particular style or preferences in writing. I as a writer can tell you how the basis of my "madness" works, but who are we joking, that would just be utterly extensive and boring. Within the different types of genres one person can write about, I find persuasive, argumentative, and research/informational writings to be the most appealing. I tend to be a very opinionative person, meaning that if I hear any of some sort of injustice or intriguing thought said, don't think twice of hearing my stance on that topic. Therefore, especially with persuasive essays, I will always find my pen promptly trying to catch up, while my thoughts keep rushing in, in order to get on paper. It's a formative writing piece, that I can easily state my claim and through using accurate information, will no longer be an assignment, more or less it will turn into a conversation between my writing and my thoughts. Nevertheless, when it comes to...show more content... I don't know if not being an imaginative individual may be at fault, but ever since I pick up my first writing utensil I was not a fan of writing on the spot. When I always hear the dreadful words coming from an English teacher, "Well class, today we will be having a free–write", my heart drops. Fear, of the possibility of being the last individual writing, encountering multiple issues from knowing what to write about to what shall be the focus of the story. Perhaps, my inability of writing any creative piece can be layback to the constant issue of knowing where and how to start and finish. Nonetheless, moving away from genres, my ultimate weakness would have to be mechanics. I mean, I understand the basics of noun, verb, punctuation, and so forth, but I regularly find myself re–reading my writing pieces over and over and still finding everlasting Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Strength My Behavior Change topic will be gaining strength. This behavioral topic has became my goal for strengthening my muscles on a physical outlook on working out. There are a lot of ways increase muscle strength, such as a caloric surplus and supplements. I want to bench two hundred twenty–five pounds for five repetitions on a smith machine. Muscular strength refers to "The amount of force a muscle can produce and is usually measured by the maximum amount of force a muscle can produce in a single effort maximal effort". (Very Well) The more force you can generate will increase your strength. When training for strength, you should be lifting heavy weight in which you can only doing three to seven repetitions. Also, working on maxing out on your weight, which means pushing yourself until failure. When I first began training for strength, the weight was low because I was continuously in a caloric deficit and not training for strength. "A calorie surplus leads to weight gain. The type of weight you gain (muscle vs. fat) is entirely dependent on how much you eat and how much you exercise. Since muscle growth is limited to 10–15 pounds per year, increasing calorie intake beyond a certain point leads to body fat rather than muscle gains." (Strength Health) Your body needs more calories to growth and gain strength. So, if you don't eat enough, you will never obtain your goal. Since being in a caloric surplus of five hundred calories, my strength has increased. "A calorie deficit is a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. How To Write A Persuasive Paper The importance of writing, I found, was in what you wrote about and its purpose, writing helps you get your ideas on paper and improve simply things like sentences, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. There are many types of writing for different purposes, for this semester we focused on persuasive and research papers, but there is also poetry, fiction, creative, narratives, and even more.. I feel I have grown as a writer in the organization, wording and lead–ins of papers. I also feel I have improved in my vocabulary and using different words to give the same meaning. The greatest writing accomplishments, I noticed in my persuasive and research papers were in connecting to the topic and lead–ins. In the research paper I improved in leading into the topic. My research paper was about cloning and in it I stated, "Ian WIlmut, a embryologist, and Keith Campbell, a cell biologist and embryologist, state in their book, The...show more content... I liked how I used word phrasing in the persuasive paper. In the persuasive paper you had to discredit the opposing side, I did this by stating, " Some parents and students argue that these books should be banned, but they are mistaken and misrepresenting the view of the book". For this I used different words and sometimes different orders to describe similar things and make it sound more educated and believable. In addition, something I found good in my paper was my discussions of the topics. In the persuasive paper about banning books I made a topic about why they shouldn't be banned, saying, " ...taking these books off the shelves and out of schools they are taking away students' First Amendment rights to choose what books they want to read". I used good discussions to make my point about the topic and persuade people to see the way I wanted them to. Conclusively, the persuasive paper was my favorite out of all the papers completed this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay Decisions can make lives take a turn for the better or the worse. People are usually tasked with many choices in their lives, so eventually a wrong decision will occur and people will wish they had not chosen incorrectly. While bad selections may happen, that is what living is about: making mistakes and learning from them. Many people in this society have regrets. Regrets can stem from anything: buying the wrong food or turning left when the GPS said to turn right. Whenever someone makes the wrong choice, the first thing they do once they realize the consequences of their actions is start regretting their decision, hoping they could go back in time to change what they had done. Sadly, time travel is not possible at this point in time, so people must be able to deal with remorse and not let it get to them. Regret can be a very difficult thing to keep at bay. For example, from the book, tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom, Morrie was a professor dying of ALS. He has suffered for months, slowly losing his ability to use his body parts, but he was still joyful. He saw all of the beautiful things in life and was most likely happier than most of the people around him, despite the fact that he was very ill. However, guilt still seeped into Morrie's life and affected him. Morrie had a friend named Norman; Morrie and Norman were very good friends, Norman even making a bust of Morrie as a gift at one point. They swam together and took rides to New York. Morrie then says, "Norman Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Change In Life Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. How To Write A Persuasive Essay Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a difficult and boring thing. However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment, "Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me. In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example, using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It also can make readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make each paragraph be connected from this assignment....show more content... I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that using the quote or data can make the theme of an essay be stronger and more persuasive. For example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be Waste Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers agree with writer's thinking. • 10. Writing A Persuasive Essay Analysis I've chosen the form of a persuasive essay that would be published in a school library targeting early adulthood. The reason why I have chosen this form of writing is because I'm able to use a formal language. This is to include real life examples that allows me to express the topic even more so it makes it easier for the audience to understand. I've chosen early adulthood as the audience because I feel like they can relative this piece more than younger children because they are more exposed to changes in identity and may find it harder to belong to certain groups as they grow up. The very start of my piece I start to write in first person using words like 'we' and 'our' as I'm referring to myself with others trying to get the readers to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Secondly thesis which is a statement or theory that is put forward as a premise to be maintained or proved. • 12. Persuasive Essay Writing My interview was supposed to take place in my high school, Pleasanton High School, but plans changed. My teacher that I wanted to interview went to Montana for the week, so instead I texted her. Mrs Straub is my journalism teacher. She is tall, has black curly hair, and lushes eyelashes. We have gotten close this year, and seeing her do her job as well as she does it, made me rethink my future career. Growing up I had always wanted to be a teacher, but something last year changed... I got braces. Suddenly I became fascinated with how the orthodontists work. I am just torn now because, I don't know which one to choose. This interview should help me right? I'll get to ask Mrs. Straub questions about her work, and that should help me choose. When asked what types of writing styles are required for teaching English Mrs. Straub said, "I have to write professional emails using academic language to co workers every day. Also I have to be able to explain in writing what I plan to teach for the week in my lesson plans. I have to write emails to parents detailing assignments in a way they can clearly understand my expectations. I have to write clear objectives, so that my students know our mission for the class period." Not going to lie, I already knew the answer to the question. I was hoping that maybe there was more writing to teaching then what she explained to me, but this isn't a bad thing. This seems like a fairly easy task to do with this job. • 13. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers can have a full understanding of your Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Less than 3 minutes after leaving the ground and only being 3200 feet above ground level a flock of geese was sucked into the engine of the Airbus (Air Documentaries 6/27/14). Captain Chesley Sullenberger had to make the split second decision to conduct an emergency landing of flight 1549 in the Hudson River without proper training or prior preparation. People have questioned whether or not Captain Sullenberger mad the right decision. I believe that Captain Chesley Sullenberger did in fact make the correct decision to land the 66–ton Airbus in the Hudson River. Less than 3 minutes after leaving the ground and only being 3200 feet above ground level a flock of geese was sucked into the engine of the Airbus (Air Documentaries 6/27/14). • 17. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. • 18. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I figured that awaffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Every essay or paper designed to be persuasive needs a paragraph at the very outset introducing both the subject at hand and the thesis which is being advanced. It also needs a final paragraph summarizing what's been said and driving the author's argument home. These are not arbitrary requirements. That means you must be clear, forthright and logical. That's the way good lawyers win their cases. A. How to Write an Introduction. The introduction of a persuasive essay or paper must be substantial. Having finished it, the reader ought to have a very clear idea of the author's purpose in writing. To wit, after reading the introduction, I tend to stop and ask myself where I think the rest of the paper is headed, what the individual paragraphs in its body will address and what the general nature of the conclusion will be. If I'm right, it's because the introduction has laid out in clear and detailed fashion the theme and the general facts which the author will use to support it. Let me give you an example of what I mean. The following is an introduction of what turned out to be a well–written paper, but the introduction was severely lacking: The role of women has changed over the centuries, and it has also differed from civilization to civilization.
