Mount Fuji Research Paper
A symbol for pride and joy, Mount Fuji reigns over the land at 3776 meters or 12388 feet as the
highest volcano in Japan. Mount Fuji's formation from over 100 thousand years ago started at the
birth of Mount Komi–take and Ashitaka–yama. Two different volcanos that would be overtaken by
the new and young Mount Fuji that formed less than 10 thousand years ago. The reign of terror from
the new Mount Fuji is not over yet as it is still an active stratovolcano with as recent of an eruption
as 1707 whose activities today is still being closely monitored by Japanese scientists. While mighty
and powerful, the volcano's cultural history is surrounded by legends of ghosts or monsters and
people who worship the volcano, but the beautiful aspect is artist ... Show more content on

Fuji sees over 200,000 climbers each year although there climbing season only opens for two
months during the Summer. The first ascent known was in 663 by a monk, and the first woman to
ascend was Lady Fanny Parkes in 1867. The first foreigner from the outside to experience and grasp
the might of Mt. Fuji was Sir Rutherford Alcock. He was the first British Consul–General in Japan
and the first foreigner to ascend the volcano, recording his ascent in his book 'The Capital of the
Tycoon'. Today, Mt. Fuji is registered as a World Heritage Site since 2013 for the United Nations

Aokigahara's Suicide Forest Analysis
It was his job. He was the who had to show no fear, to not let his bones rattle him to the core, to let
his voice falter and crack in the middle of his job. To never waiver when death is in the air, creeping
around, surrounding his body in the aura of it's presence. When the stench of the past lingers and
even communicates with him, it was routine for him. After all, it was his job; although sometimes he
felt it was too much for him, but he loved the adrenaline it induced. When it coursed through his
veins, he felt alive; more alive than anything around him. In this case, it was true because as a
paranormal investigator, a number of people did not see this profession as a true profession due to
their unbelief in the paranormal, while the other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he gathers his equipment and gets ready, it still crosses his mind on what will happen in the
forest, but he proceeds anyways. He acquires a rental car and drives over an hour to the forest,
parking close by outside. He gets his backpack on with all of his equipment and takes a good look at
the forest. He looks left and sees no end to the treeline, even looking to the right and getting the
same result. The trees were so packed and the top of the trees formed a dark green thick layer,
rejecting the presence of light in the forest. Even standing outside of the forest, he could feel the
presence of what he thought to remain. He didn't understand what he was feeling, but it was like the
sense of someone watching him. He walks closer to the forest, backpack on back, video camera in
hand, and with one on top of his head also. Before entering the forest he spots a sign. It's in Japanese
but he knows what it says, he reads it as, "If you've come to commit suicide, please leave and get
help. We're tired of cleaning up bodies." Thinking to himself, he decides this place must have an
extensive amount of people's spirits left behind from suicide. Shuffling his feet further he enters the
forest, walking along the designated path many people have walked before, observing what he can.
He notices the tape

Key Characters Associated With Suicide In Tenth Of...
Within the progression of the short story "Tenth of December" the main character, Don Eber,
embodies the key characteristics associated with suicide in relation to the topic of death and dying in
American culture. The biggest and most important idea shown by Don is that the transformation
fantasies provoked by his struggle were only temporary. He not only exemplifies the ideas brought
about before the act (premeditation) but also comes full circle into how to combat the ideas moving
forward.
The character of examination, Don Eber, a man who has been struggling with a brain tumor, shows
signs of those many have that ultimately ends in committing suicide. It is said that many who
struggle with suicide, believe that that they would be better off dead because of the burden they are
putting on loved ones. In the story "Tenth of December" this is Don's motive. He truly believes that
his mental ailment, which is progressively changing him (his thoughts and action), is putting a
major burden on his family. This thought is fueled by the constant image and reminder of his
stepfather who has seemingly struggled with similar problems. Don saw and felt the stress this put
on his family and in turn, does not want to do the same.
When Don says, "this incredible opportunity to end things with dignity", he sees this out, suicide, as
heroic. This mindset not being too far off from those described in the short documentary
"Aokigahara Suicide Forest" by vice. Travellers from all over come to

Teen Suicide : A Growing Issue
Teen suicide is a growing issue in the United States. In order to prevent it, we need a better
understanding on it. What is teen suicide? Teen suicide which is better known as youth suicide is
when a young person, generally categorized as someone below age 24, deliberately end their own
life. Rates of attempted suicide and completed youth suicide in western societies and other countries
are extremely high. According to the National Institute for Mental Health, suicide is the third
leading cause of death in teens and second leading cause of death in the world. In the year 2002 teen
suicide rates increased dramatically. Youth suicides are mainly caused by loss of someone who is
significant to them and also committed suicide. It is highly advised to keep children away from
suicide contagion. Suicide contagion refers to the process where one suicide or suicidal act within
school, community, or geographic area increase the likelihood that others will attempt suicide or
complete suicide. Suicide contagion can also lead to what is called suicide cluster were a number of
suicides can occur following an initial suicide. The national suicide prevention day is September 10.
The San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, Japan 's aokigahara forest and England 's beachy head are
the most famous suicide locations. In all of these there are signs posted with contact information for
suicide hotlines. The jump from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is 250 feet. Falling this

The Movie ' The Forest '
The movies. A place where everyone comes to see entertainment on the big screen. Going to the
movies has become very common in American culture. Sometimes though movies can be more than
movies; they become events which can pull you in and make you feel like you are a part of the
movie. No movies do that better than horror movies, which could have you sitting at the edge of
your seat in one minute, then have you cowering back in your seat the next minute. I experienced a
horror movie like that, it pulled me into the movie and made me feel everything the main character
felt. The movie is called The Forest. The movie uses effective scare tactics such as creepy
environment, jump scares, and psychological horror. The Forest is about a woman going to find her
twin sister who got lost in a forest. But it is not just any forest the sister got lost in, it is the
Aokigahara forest in Japan which is also called the suicide forest because of the high amounts of
suicides committed in the forest. The movie is able to utilize the inherent creepiness in the forest, to
keep the movie suspenseful and full of tension. Throughout the movie the forest is eerily quiet and
all you hear is the crunching of twigs under the protagonist feet or the sound of the wind rustling the
branches of the trees. All these sounds keep you at the edge of your seat, wondering when the first
ghost or ghoul will pop out. Since there is no real music, and no signs when a jump scare could
happen you are left

Suicide And Suicide
Research has shown the following: Hanging is the leading method of suicide around the world and
is particularly popular in rural area. and the most common in the world. Although women attempt
suicide about three times more often than men, men complete suicide about three times more often
than women. Four out of five people who commit suicide have attempted to kill themselves at least
once previously. Suicide is the leading cause of death for people with schizophrenia.
Many suicidologists have criticized news coverage of suicides, citing that reading about suicide
victims in the news often triggers copycat or "contagion" suicides.
Levels of a brain transmitter called serotonin is considered a possible predictor of suicide. Some
researchers found that people with low levels of serotonin are six to 10 more times likely to commit
suicide than are people with normal levels.
States that specifically allow physician–assisted suicide under certain strict guidelines. A few of
these guidelines include being diagnosed with a terminal illness that will lead to death in six
months, making two oral requests and one written request for assistance separated by 15 days, and
persuading two physicians that the patient is sincere and is not influenced by depression.
In America, the most common suicide method for both men and women is firearms, accounting for
60% of all suicides. For women, the next most common method is ingesting solid and liquid poison
or pills. The next most common

Game Of Thrones Controversy
The widely popular TV series, Game of Thrones, has produced a slew of new movie stars. After all,
Game of Thrones is arguably the most popular television show on the planet (Walking Dead fans
might disagree) – so it only makes sense that whenever one of its stars is cast in movie, whether it's
Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, or Peter Dinklage (just to name a few), an up–tick in interest is
expected.
Up–and–coming actress Natalie Dormer fits the same mold – currently playing Queen Margaery on
Game of Thrones. As such, her visibility landed her a supporting role in immensely popular film
series, The Hunger Games – not to mention a brief stint on the CBS drama, Elementary. And, it was
only a matter of time before she secured a starring role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In turn, this is sloppily cut film – and a poor first effort from director Jason Zada. He doesn't capture
nearly enough emotion from either of his two characters for viewers to truly care if they live or die
(although Game of Thrones fans will pull for Dormer – or at least one version of her, to make it out
alive). The funny part is those that should ultimately have survived end up as casualties, while the
one person (if any) that should have fallen victim to the forest manages to walk out like alive –
looking like he/she just accidentally won the

Causes Of Japan Suicide
Although Japan is one of the largest countries in the world and it has the third highest economy in
the world, it has faced a great rise in suicides rate due to the many reasons that push thousands of
Japanese to commit suicide yearly. Japan's suicide rate had risen to the extent that every fifteen
minutes someone commits suicide in Japan and over 100 suicides are officially reported daily.
However, the rate wasn't that high until in 1998's economic crisis in Japan that led many people to
lose their jobs and money and since then, the suicide rate stayed high. Some people argue it's the
economic reasons that leads people to suicide, while others argue it's the mental reasons. I believe
it's the mental reasons as the economic reasons will lead to mental exhausting that will lead to
suicide.
According to statistics that was done by the Metropolitan Police Department in 2009, over 30,000
people committed suicide yearly. This is why japan is called "The World's Suicide Leader". And
statistics shows that over 32,000 Japanese people kill themselves yearly in Japan. However, The
Japanese Government doesn't consider suicides as a public issue, but a personal matter. This
Statistics shows nations that has the highest suicide rates.
And as shown, Japan is the first with 19.4 person among 100,000 committing suicide.
Economically speaking, Japan went through a great economic collapse during the 90's that was
called "The Lost Decade" which stayed for over 10 years. Japan went through

Western Culture And Suicide Essay
Eastern and Western Ideologies Surrounding Suicide and Their Origins
In order to understand the eastern and western beliefs about suicide, we must first review and
consider the influences of these beliefs, such as religion and history, as well as the effects of
acculturation. The Eastern and Western cultures have very distinct views on death and suicide. The
two cultures I will be specifically focusing on is Japan and the United States.
In Japan, there is a strong presence of Buddhism and Shintoism. In Buddhism, death is not the end.
Originally written by Padma Sambhava, and translated by Robert Thurman, the Tibetan Book of the
Dead (1994) states death is merely a "door" towards enlightenment, and human life is a bridge to
nirvana. Shintoism teaches that a human's soul is everlasting; transitioning into another realm after
the body dies. To those born into the eastern culture, these views on the afterlife are not theories. It
is science. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christian devotees do not believe in reincarnation. After the spirit departs, the body reverts to dust,
and the soul returns to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7, King James Version). There is no need for
immortality since there is a heaven. Apart from religion, the western view of death is that of
rejection. Americans use euphemisms, like "passed away" and "transitioned" in order to cope with
the misfortune. Instead of cherishing individuals while they are alive, Americans take them for
granted, and when the person departs their deaths are described as "premature," "sudden," and "too
soon". A prime example of this is American actor Paul Walker, who died in a horrific car accident in
2013. The reason for this is because the westernized culture does not think about death. In the east,
it is considered a bright and natural cycle; death is treated with anxiety and uncertainty in the

Book Report: Black Sea Of Trees
Forests are usually a beautiful place. They are filled with all different types of animals and noises.
You can feel the sun on your skin as it shines in between the trees. The lush greenery around you
makes you appreciate the nature. In Koshu, Japan, this is not the case. Aokigahara, is a forest placed
below the Fuji Mountains. Unlike most forests, this one reeks of death and darkness. The fourteen
squares miles are filled thick with trees. Tall trees that are so close together that the sun does not
seem to make an appearance. This forest is eerily quiet. Birds and insects do not chirp or sing.
Animals are not seen running around on the ground or up in the trees. The silence can overwhelm
you as the cold, dark forest surrounds you. This is said to be the perfect place to die. ... Show more

end of this book, the two lovers in the story, kill themselves in the forest, but the deaths of suicide

The Philosophy Behind Phantoms
A ghost is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear in visible form or other
manifestation to the living. These paranormal beings have been talked about for many years.
Witnesses admitted to having seen spirits walking among Earth after death; taking on many forms
and supposedly haunt various buildings and locations. Ghosts, phantoms, apparitions, spirits, and
specters are divergent words, but all define a being that was once living but is now earthbound. No
actual evidence has been found to prove their existence, so scientists are unable to claim that they
exist. There is reason to believe that spirits may roam Earth due to the ... Show more content on

Shadow ghosts are unexplained shadows that are dark in color and are said to be evil, or bad luck,
for their gloomy appearance. Commonly spotted in reflective areas, such as mirrors and windows,
most are seen inside houses or outside at a distance, so anywhere where the presence of ghosts are
felt would have the chance of holding a phantom there (Stone 20–21).
Furthermore, ghosts have made history through encounters with iconic figures. One of the first
evidence of ghost sightings came from the first century A.D.; by the Roman author and statesman,
Pliny the Younger. He was well known for the stories of his encounters with these phantoms, and
became one of the most significant ghost story writers during the Roman Empire. Haunting his
home in Athens, he claimed to have seen an apparition in the form of an old man with a long beard,
clasping rattling chains. Another witness of ghost sightings included Lucian, a Greek writer, and
Roman Plautus, who also wrote noteworthy ghost stories as well. The first poltergeist was revealed
in 856 A.D. afflicting a family who lived i a farmhouse in Germany. Lucian claimed that the
phantom involved threw stones, started fires, and caused a major disturbance for the scarred family

committing suicide is common about thirty thousand each year which many place to become

Now, if you chose to not bring the matches, survival will be difficult. Starting a fire with wood is
tough. Even the experts have trouble starting a fire with only wood. Now, imagine the weather is
rainy. Trying to find wood that is dry and keeping it dry is not going to be so easy i'd imagine.
Bringing a sword to the wild seems like a great idea, however, after carrying it for a couple miles
you might realize it wasn't so. What's the alternative? A mini sword, also known as a knife.
Extremely versatile and not very heavy. This knife will go a long ways in survival. You'll be able to
prepare meat to then cook and eat. It serves you as protection, if you were to get in a position where
you have to defend yourself from a monkey with rabies. When you need to make a shelter, a knife
will be super useful for cutting down branches, leaves, and plants. Also, the knives butt can serve as
a hammer. This'll help for shelter making. From a survival point of view, a small knife is essential.
However, maybe you think a small knife is not good enough for protection against all predators. I
agree, if a bear, lion, tiger, or a puma wanted to attack you; the chances of surviving the attack are
much higher with a sword. Nonetheless, the chances of being attacked by a fierce predator are very
low. That would be the lesser of worries. In this setting, weather is more dangerous. If you wanted

Aokigahara Research Paper
Located at the base of Mt. Fuji, Aokigahara is perhaps the most infamous forest in all of
Japan."Also known as the Sea of Trees, Suicide Forest, and Japan's Demon Forest, Aokigahara has
been home to over 500 confirmed suicides since the 1950s". The Aokigahara forest has a horrifying
history, a variety of different people who visit, also locals and workers have it worse than people
think.
The history of Aokigahara is horrifying. Even before now, as Aokigahara being known as the

be sacrificed. A method of sacrificing yourself in the forest was starving. "The forest is so large, and

The forest workers have it even worse than the police who comb and investigate the forest. "The
workers are tasked with the job of carrying the bodies down from the forest to the local station,
where the bodies are put in a special room used specifically to house suicide corpses". The forest
workers then play janken, rock paper scissors, to see who has to sleep in the room with the corpse.
The reason for these strange sleeping arrangements is that it is believed if the corpse is left alone, it's
very bad luck for the ghost of the suicide victim. "Their spirits are said to scream throughout the
night if left alone, and their bodies will get up and shuffle around, searching for company". The
people who live by always know what type of person is going into the forest. There are three types:
the curious ones, just the visitors, and the people who plan a one way trip. Police say that the
number of suicides is no longer released due to the abundant amount. Last number released was in
2010 and the number was 54 dead and 247 people who tried. The people who work in the little
shops and cafes around Aokigahara talk to many of the people before they go in. People have said if
they wouldn't have talked to them, they would not be alive. There is also a sign posted by the
entrance of Aokigahara that states "Your life is a precious gift from your parents," and "Please

Aokigahara is a very popular place in Japan, it is known for its eeriness and spooky forest. People
would go here for their last journey and a lot of people have entered this forest and never came out.
People believed this all started because of a book that Matsumoto wrote. This book was about two
lovers who, in the end, committed suicide together in the forest. But the forest has been there for a
long time and people were already ending their lives way before this book was published. Suicide is
such a big thing in Japan back in the 1990s, samurai that were caught by the enemy were expected
to end their lives before they surrender. There is also a practice called Ubasute, this is when old

Mount Fuji's formation from over 100 thousand years ago started at the birth of Mount Komi–take and Ashitaka–yama. Two different volcanos that would be overtaken by the new and young Mount Fuji that formed less than 10 thousand years ago. The reign of terror from the new Mount Fuji is not over yet as it is still an active stratovolcano with as recent of an eruption as 1707 whose activities today is still being closely monitored by Japanese scientists. While mighty and powerful, the volcano's cultural history is surrounded by legends of ghosts or monsters and people who worship the volcano, but the beautiful aspect is artist ... • 2. Aokigahara's Suicide Forest Analysis It was his job. He was the who had to show no fear, to not let his bones rattle him to the core, to let his voice falter and crack in the middle of his job. To never waiver when death is in the air, creeping around, surrounding his body in the aura of it's presence. When the stench of the past lingers and even communicates with him, it was routine for him. After all, it was his job; although sometimes he felt it was too much for him, but he loved the adrenaline it induced. When it coursed through his veins, he felt alive; more alive than anything around him. In this case, it was true because as a paranormal investigator, a number of people did not see this profession as a true profession due to their unbelief in the paranormal, while the other ... He acquires a rental car and drives over an hour to the forest, parking close by outside. He gets his backpack on with all of his equipment and takes a good look at the forest. He looks left and sees no end to the treeline, even looking to the right and getting the same result. The trees were so packed and the top of the trees formed a dark green thick layer, rejecting the presence of light in the forest. Even standing outside of the forest, he could feel the presence of what he thought to remain. He didn't understand what he was feeling, but it was like the sense of someone watching him. He walks closer to the forest, backpack on back, video camera in hand, and with one on top of his head also. Before entering the forest he spots a sign. It's in Japanese but he knows what it says, he reads it as, "If you've come to commit suicide, please leave and get help. We're tired of cleaning up bodies." Thinking to himself, he decides this place must have an extensive amount of people's spirits left behind from suicide. Shuffling his feet further he enters the forest, walking along the designated path many people have walked before, observing what he can. He notices the tape ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Key Characters Associated With Suicide In Tenth Of... Within the progression of the short story "Tenth of December" the main character, Don Eber, embodies the key characteristics associated with suicide in relation to the topic of death and dying in American culture. The biggest and most important idea shown by Don is that the transformation fantasies provoked by his struggle were only temporary. He not only exemplifies the ideas brought about before the act (premeditation) but also comes full circle into how to combat the ideas moving forward. The character of examination, Don Eber, a man who has been struggling with a brain tumor, shows signs of those many have that ultimately ends in committing suicide. It is said that many who struggle with suicide, believe that that they would be better off dead because of the burden they are putting on loved ones. In the story "Tenth of December" this is Don's motive. He truly believes that his mental ailment, which is progressively changing him (his thoughts and action), is putting a major burden on his family. This thought is fueled by the constant image and reminder of his stepfather who has seemingly struggled with similar problems. Don saw and felt the stress this put on his family and in turn, does not want to do the same. When Don says, "this incredible opportunity to end things with dignity", he sees this out, suicide, as heroic. This mindset not being too far off from those described in the short documentary "Aokigahara Suicide Forest" by vice. Travellers from all over come to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teen suicide which is better known as youth suicide is when a young person, generally categorized as someone below age 24, deliberately end their own life. Rates of attempted suicide and completed youth suicide in western societies and other countries are extremely high. According to the National Institute for Mental Health, suicide is the third leading cause of death in teens and second leading cause of death in the world. In the year 2002 teen suicide rates increased dramatically. Youth suicides are mainly caused by loss of someone who is significant to them and also committed suicide. • 6. The Movie ' The Forest ' The movies. A place where everyone comes to see entertainment on the big screen. Going to the movies has become very common in American culture. Sometimes though movies can be more than movies; they become events which can pull you in and make you feel like you are a part of the movie. No movies do that better than horror movies, which could have you sitting at the edge of your seat in one minute, then have you cowering back in your seat the next minute. I experienced a horror movie like that, it pulled me into the movie and made me feel everything the main character felt. The movie is called The Forest. The movie uses effective scare tactics such as creepy environment, jump scares, and psychological horror. The Forest is about a woman going to find her twin sister who got lost in a forest. But it is not just any forest the sister got lost in, it is the Aokigahara forest in Japan which is also called the suicide forest because of the high amounts of suicides committed in the forest. The movie is able to utilize the inherent creepiness in the forest, to keep the movie suspenseful and full of tension. Throughout the movie the forest is eerily quiet and all you hear is the crunching of twigs under the protagonist feet or the sound of the wind rustling the branches of the trees. All these sounds keep you at the edge of your seat, wondering when the first ghost or ghoul will pop out. Since there is no real music, and no signs when a jump scare could happen you are left ... • 8. Game Of Thrones Controversy The widely popular TV series, Game of Thrones, has produced a slew of new movie stars. After all, Game of Thrones is arguably the most popular television show on the planet (Walking Dead fans might disagree) – so it only makes sense that whenever one of its stars is cast in movie, whether it's Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, or Peter Dinklage (just to name a few), an up–tick in interest is expected. Up–and–coming actress Natalie Dormer fits the same mold – currently playing Queen Margaery on Game of Thrones. • 9. Causes Of Japan Suicide Although Japan is one of the largest countries in the world and it has the third highest economy in the world, it has faced a great rise in suicides rate due to the many reasons that push thousands of Japanese to commit suicide yearly. Japan's suicide rate had risen to the extent that every fifteen minutes someone commits suicide in Japan and over 100 suicides are officially reported daily. However, the rate wasn't that high until in 1998's economic crisis in Japan that led many people to lose their jobs and money and since then, the suicide rate stayed high. Some people argue it's the economic reasons that leads people to suicide, while others argue it's the mental reasons. I believe it's the mental reasons as the economic reasons will lead to mental exhausting that will lead to suicide. According to statistics that was done by the Metropolitan Police Department in 2009, over 30,000 people committed suicide yearly. This is why japan is called "The World's Suicide Leader". And statistics shows that over 32,000 Japanese people kill themselves yearly in Japan. However, The Japanese Government doesn't consider suicides as a public issue, but a personal matter. This Statistics shows nations that has the highest suicide rates. And as shown, Japan is the first with 19.4 person among 100,000 committing suicide. • 10. Western Culture And Suicide Essay Eastern and Western Ideologies Surrounding Suicide and Their Origins In order to understand the eastern and western beliefs about suicide, we must first review and consider the influences of these beliefs, such as religion and history, as well as the effects of acculturation. The Eastern and Western cultures have very distinct views on death and suicide. The two cultures I will be specifically focusing on is Japan and the United States. In Japan, there is a strong presence of Buddhism and Shintoism. In Buddhism, death is not the end. Originally written by Padma Sambhava, and translated by Robert Thurman, the Tibetan Book of the Dead (1994) states death is merely a "door" towards enlightenment, and human life is a bridge to nirvana. Shintoism teaches that a human's soul is everlasting; transitioning into another realm after the body dies. To those born into the eastern culture, these views on the afterlife are not theories. It is science. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Christian devotees do not believe in reincarnation. After the spirit departs, the body reverts to dust, and the soul returns to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7, King James Version). There is no need for immortality since there is a heaven. Apart from religion, the western view of death is that of rejection. Americans use euphemisms, like "passed away" and "transitioned" in order to cope with the misfortune. Instead of cherishing individuals while they are alive, Americans take them for granted, and when the person departs their deaths are described as "premature," "sudden," and "too soon". A prime example of this is American actor Paul Walker, who died in a horrific car accident in 2013. The reason for this is because the westernized culture does not think about death. In the east, it is considered a bright and natural cycle; death is treated with anxiety and uncertainty in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Philosophy Behind Phantoms ' A Ghost ' Jules Fantillo Mr. Brown English 9 (Hour 2) 14 March 2016 The Philosophy Behind Phantoms A ghost is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear in visible form or other manifestation to the living. These paranormal beings have been talked about for many years. Witnesses admitted to having seen spirits walking among Earth after death; taking on many forms and supposedly haunt various buildings and locations. Ghosts, phantoms, apparitions, spirits, and specters are divergent words, but all define a being that was once living but is now earthbound. No actual evidence has been found to prove their existence, so scientists are unable to claim that they exist. There is reason to believe that spirits may roam Earth due to the ... Commonly spotted in reflective areas, such as mirrors and windows, most are seen inside houses or outside at a distance, so anywhere where the presence of ghosts are felt would have the chance of holding a phantom there (Stone 20–21). Furthermore, ghosts have made history through encounters with iconic figures. One of the first evidence of ghost sightings came from the first century A.D.; by the Roman author and statesman, Pliny the Younger. He was well known for the stories of his encounters with these phantoms, and became one of the most significant ghost story writers during the Roman Empire. Haunting his home in Athens, he claimed to have seen an apparition in the form of an old man with a long beard, clasping rattling chains. Another witness of ghost sightings included Lucian, a Greek writer, and Roman Plautus, who also wrote noteworthy ghost stories as well. Bringing a sword to the wild seems like a great idea, however, after carrying it for a couple miles you might realize it wasn't so. What's the alternative? A mini sword, also known as a knife. Extremely versatile and not very heavy. This knife will go a long ways in survival. You'll be able to prepare meat to then cook and eat. It serves you as protection, if you were to get in a position where you have to defend yourself from a monkey with rabies. When you need to make a shelter, a knife will be super useful for cutting down branches, leaves, and plants. Also, the knives butt can serve as a hammer. This'll help for shelter making. From a survival point of view, a small knife is essential. However, maybe you think a small knife is not good enough for protection against all predators. I agree, if a bear, lion, tiger, or a puma wanted to attack you; the chances of surviving the attack are much higher with a sword.
