Slideshow transcript

Slide 1: Some Golf Advice And Tips • Golf is a complex game; however, at times even tiny changes can lead to sensational improvements. • So, if you want to shave a few more strokes off your handicap, the golf advice and tips in the next few slides should be useful in improving your golf game.

Slide 2: Some Golf Advice And Tips Put Your Whole Body Into Your Swing • It's simply not enough to swing with just your arms and wrists. Solid force and follow-through depend on use of the larger muscle groups in your torso and legs. Power your swings with your whole body, and you'll get a lot more 'pop' and distance out of each drive.

Slide 3: Some Golf Advice And Tips Make Sure To Check Your Grip • One of the best ways to grip a club is by using the ‘cross hand’ grip. • Place your left hand on the grip first with your fingers wrapping underneath, and your thumb coming around to rest on top of the grip.

Slide 4: Some Golf Advice And Tips • Then, place your right hand on top of the grip, near the end, allowing your right hand to be slightly cupped by your left. • If you are opposite handed, simply reverse those instructions. • One last note of importance is to not grip the club too tightly. A tight muscle is a slow muscle, and this hampers overall distance.

Slide 5: Some Golf Advice And Tips Keep Your Head Still • Once you have lined up the shot, work on keeping your head still from the beginning to the end of the swing. If you do not keep your head still, the club face could open or close and cause that dreaded hook or slice.

Slide 6: Some Golf Advice And Tips • Keep Both Knees Solid But Flexible • Your down swing requires a turn of the hips, which is achieved by transfer of weight between the right and left knees. If you are right handed, your weight starts on your right knee as you start to swing, then transfers to your left knee on the down swing and follow through.

Slide 7: Some Golf Advice And Tips • You do not want your knees to lock up; therefore, you need to keep your stance steady. However, you don't want to bend too much either, as this will cause your shoulder to drop.

Slide 8: Some Golf Advice And Tips • Instead, try to focus on the feeling of tension in the muscles by flexing them right to left while standing in place. This will allow you to learn how to shift weight from one leg to the other without flexing too much.

Slide 9: Some Golf Advice And Tips Stay Fair and Square • Straight shots are the result of a straight club face connecting squarely with the ball. The club face should be aligned turning the entire swing path to ensure a good shot. • There are a number points during your swing where you're likely to twist the club at angle, though, and this is what you need to watch out for.

Slide 10: Some Golf Advice And Tips • If you make sure the club face is aligned at the top of your swing, you are well on your way to ensuring a straighter shot. • Practice holding your club out in front of you, with your hands aligned just near the base of your forehead, as this is where they should be at the top of the swing.
