2. History
Celador was founded in 1983 by Jasper Carrott
and Paul Smith CBE and it was a small British
business that’s aim was to produce films. When
Celador Co produced Slumdog Millionnaire they
we’re bought out by complete communications
but since Celador made so much money they
bought their own company back. Celador is now
run by Danielle Lux after they bought
themselves out.

Celador, The Descent budget £3,500,000 Box office £57,500,000 The
audience is small and so is the budget however the profit is huge more
than 10x more.
Film 4, The Inbetweeners budget £3,500,000 box office £57,500,000.
DNA films 28 days later budget £8,000,000 box office £52,800,000
Sony pictures entertainment Transformers budget £150,000,000 box

Celador's profit is very big because their budget is so low in
comparison to other companies such as Sony, however the other
companies will be making a lot more money because their profits are
higher. Compared to some competitors Celador is successful however
to some of the bigger companies such as Sony they may not be as
successful due to having a smaller budget.
5. Ownership
Paul Smith CBE, is chairman on Celador
Entertainment limited which is the umbrella
company for Celador films.
In 2006 Celador took Disney to court for unpaid
profits for playing “who wants to be a millionaire”
in the US. After trial by jury in LA in 2010 Celador
got £177,000,000 in damages after ruling they
didn’t receive their fair share of profits.
6. Operating Model
Celador aren’t huge so they hire everyone for
each task such as people for acting roles, camera
crew, technicians etc. Celador also re invest in
themselves to create new movies. They found
the money for The Descent so they teamed up
with Northman productions to make The
Descent who then had to hire the personal.
