Importance of a Teacher in Puranas
Meaning….
All Teachers are GODs
Talk Flow today
• Introduction
• Traditional and new way of teaching
• Simple explanation with an example
• Learning Pyramid
• Innovative Teaching Methodologies
• How to test oneself as a good teacher
• How to improve our personality
• Concluding remarks
General Psychology of a student
Problem:
One student is interested to learn…
• He is attending all your classes….
• But he could not understand the subject…Then it is
not his fault…It is our fault..!!!!!
• We as teachers need to understand him and change
the way and means of teaching with innovative ideas
to make him understand.
• But only condition…first the teacher need to totally
understand the subject…
New way of Teaching is…….
•More interaction
•More discussion
•More demonstration
•More visuals
•More experiments
•Etc…
Now a days Students are equipped with various sources of acquiring
knowledge through various web sites. Teacher should utilize their
knowledge.
Some smart students are more knowledgeable than even teachers!!!
Teacher should encourage them …..
Absorption Vs. Adsorption
Eg. Chalk Board teaching
•Absorption: Absorption is the process of
taking or assimilating substances into a surface
like a cell or across the tissues by the process
of diffusion or osmosis.
•Adsorption: Adsorption is the process of
adhesion of molecules of liquid or gases onto
the surface of a solid particle.
Absorption Vs. Adsorption
Eg. Explain with example
• ABsorption:
Eg. Colour added to the water. Colour mixes
with water and become coloured water. Here
water has absorbed the colour
• ADsorption:
Eg. Coloured water will be added with charcoal
powder and stir it. It adsorbs the added colour
and if we filter it, we get normal water without
colour.
Here the colour is ADSORBED on the surface of the
Charcoal and water particles are released.
AD…… AB……
Absorption Vs. Adsorption
Eg. Explain with figures
Effective way of Teaching…!!!
A Teacher should always be
Innovative in Teaching with new
ideas and surprise the students
Case Study example of….
• Group discussion
• Interaction with teacher
• Interaction among students
• Active learning
• Pay full attention to the class
• Competing with others and learning
• End the class with a smiling face…!!!
Here is a case study from our
Institute…
• I divided all the students into groups by randomly
selecting
• Care is taken such that each group has a mixture of
students from different disciplines
• Questions are asked to the groups and not to the
individuals.
• This way selected group members started interacting
with each other by themselves after and before the
class and came prepared for the class
• Same way they talk to each other and prepared the
information on assignment through group effort.
• Here is the practical example…..
Remember….
All IITans are Great!!!
BUT
All GREAT People are not IITans
You need to make all your students better than IITans through
their personality development and Management skills
Success Formula….
• Secret Formula for Success (S) is
S= (A+P)/2
A = Academic Marks
P = Personality Development
Mr. X got Distinction in A (80%) and 40% in P; S=60%
Ms. Y got First class in A (65%) and 85% in P; S=75%
Remember:
In majority of job interviews they look more towards P than A
12 Different ways of Teaching and Plan of Actions
Can anyone draw meaning … on what this figure contains….?
Only teacher can draw Attention … on what this figure contains….?
You can use the car this week end (Remembers)
if you complete the work before week end (Forgets)
Two types
Birth day Grass is green
•How to assess yourself
about your Personality?
•How to improve yourself
to become a best
teacher?
Behaviour Scale –Assess yourself
Relation ship % Marks Cumulative
Spouse 80 80
Son 90 170
Daughter 80 250
Father/FIL 60 310
Mother/MIL 50 350
Average = 350/5=70 %
Can you improve your home score from 70 to 90% in 2 or 3 months…?
Similarly one can compute the behaviour scale in the office..!!!
Personality Development
7 steps to follow….
To become a good Teacher one should put
all out effort to increase ones own
PERSONALITY
•Attitude (Behavior)
•Speaking
•Writing
•Reading
•Planning
•Time management
•Health
Behavioral aspects is the most important
aspect for academic career and growth of
good personality
Remember 3 principles
1) If money is lost nothing is lost
2) If health is lost something is lost
3) If behavior is lost everything is lost
Attitude (Behavior)
Simple principle: Always think towards +ve direction
Speaking
•Learn to speak clearly
•Learn to speak loudly
•Learn to speak slowly
•Learn to speak in good language

A good research worker :
•Writes in good language (English?)
•Writes new information
•Writes in sequential order
•Writes in standard format (research paper)
Reading
•Read news papers
•Read research papers (one paper for every week)
•Read and memorize or record it
•Read stories/novels/poetry to develop a reading habit
Planning
•A person who plans ahead always
win over others
•Plan makers are always good thinkers
(eg. Planning commission)
•Persons without plan has no direction
(eg. Move from place A toB)
•A good planner is a successful person
Time management
•Management of time is very important to succeed
• Good management of time needs good planning
• Planning and time management are linked
•Time is universal and it is same for every person
•Time only passed and noway to gain the lost time
•We have proverbs like “Timely help”
and “Slow and steady and wins the race”, etc.,
Health
We all know Health is Wealth
If you eat good food and drink good water, you are 90%
Healthy
If you are unwell today check what you ate yesterday
Remember:
Control the Tongue and Conquer the Health

Concluding Remarks
• As teachers profession is divine, we need to be devotional
to our profession.
• Everyday is a new learning day both for the student and the
teacher.
• A Teacher can be innovative in teaching if self motivated
• There are ways and means to improve and test themselves
• There are various procedures to follow to increase the
talent which in turn pass on the talent to the student.
• I wish the KCS College teachers will work towards meeting
the Vision and Mission of the college and create best
students in the coming years….!!!!
Thank you for your Attention
