A little thought exercise by the estorm International creative team. We reviewed eachnet.com and came up with recommendations on how to update their website to be more modern and user friendly while keeping Chinese design sensibilities and different expectations in mind.
2. Background
Eachnet was quite a well known Client-to-Client
website before the rise of Taobao.
They were acquired by Ebay in 2002 but Ebay
withdrew from China in 2006.
Transactions mostly happen within China but
cannot compete in price with Taobao.
The are unique in that they can help their Chinese
customers shop from American and Canadian
sellers in eBay.
Payment is done via Paypal. Or through manually
contacting the seller and then paying through online
banking or offline wire transfer.

Improve eachnet’s overall UI/UX to be more modern
and user friendly
Reduce visual clutter
Improve visibility of the hero elements such as
banners and product shots
Update the navigation to be more up to date with
current trends

Design is old fashioned. For example the colors and
the gradients. Recommend to use flat colors which
would also have the added benefit of reducing load
time.
Sitemap is messy, need to reevaluate and simplify.
Use more images instead of text links.
Use more professionally shot product photos.
Keep the header, footer, side bar consistent in
every page.
