Analysis Of Barbie Doll
Vying for Perfection (1a) The poem "Barbie Doll" written by Marge Piercy contains several
denotations and connotations throughout the work. Denotation, signifying the literal meaning or
dictionary definition, whereas connotation signifies the various meanings related to the word. In the
poem, the words "cosmetics" (20) and "happy ending" (25) stood out. The poet writes, "In the casket
displayed on satin she lay / with the undertaker's cosmetics painted on, / a turned–up putty nose, /."
(lines 19–21) Cosmetics as presented in Webster's Dictionary is "relating to or making for beauty
especially of the complexion." The reader could also interpret that word as maybe not just to look
better but to also mask the internal struggle that the individual is dealing with. Using make–up,
women more–so like to paint a facade to feel and look a certain way to attract others, as the woman
in the poem does. Going to the next phrase, "happy ending", denotes that it will end on a good note
for the protagonist. "To every woman a happy ending. (line 25)" Happy ending could also be
characterized, especially in this poem as the opposite. The woman throughout the poem is struggling
to appeal like a "Barbie Doll" on the exterior and wants to fulfill society's own preference for
beautiful causing the female to resort to physical harm. "She was advised to pay coy, / exhorted to
come on hearty, / exercise, diet, smile, and wheedle." (lines 12–14) As emphasized she was someone

Rodman Philbrick's Freak The Mighty
Max the Mighty is a fictional book written by Rodman Philbrick. Philbrick wrote the book in 1998.
Also in 1998, Philbrick wrote Freak the Mighty. "Freak The Mighty has become a standard reading
selection in thousands of classrooms worldwide, and now has nearly three million copies in print"
(RodmanPhilbrick.com, n. d.). Max who is now on his own since his best friend died met someone
named worm after rescuing her from nearly getting beat by her stepfather, and is now in search of
her real dad. Max was stumbling down the street when he heard a loud yell from a little girl. Max
jolted around the corner until he found the loud yell, as he turned the corner there was a little girl
trying to get her bag back from a bully. As he got the bag from

Character Analysis: Max The Mighty
Misunderstood. All the people saw Max as this big, terrible, scary, kidnapper. Although Max appears
this way, he is the complete opposite. Maxwell is a kind person who cares about Worm enough to
want to help her. Maxwell Kane comes about as a misunderstood character in the book Max the
Mighty. Maxwell thought he was doing the right thing. From his perspective, he was taking Worm
away from all the danger in her life. On the other hand, the people believed he had kidnapped Worm
and put her in danger. No one could understand Worm had to get away from her home."And when I
look into the room through the bars on the window, I see a terrible thing," (Philbrick 25). Max was

The Undertaker made it seem as if Max had kidnapped Worm from her home. The Undertaker had
made this story up to make it seem as if Max was the bad guy in this situation."I knew that would
happen,' Worm says. 'He can make my mom say anything...," (Philbrick 32). He even made Worm's
mom go along with it. He told this to the cops. After hearing the cops were after him, Max decided
to run away with Worm. The story from the Undertaker was seen all over television and in the
newspaper. This meant everyone was searching for the so–called kidnapper Max. He went on many
adventures including, a bus ride, sprinting through the woods, running from police cars, and even
riding on a train. He did these things to stay away from everyone that was looking for him and
Worm. Max did everything he could to protect himself from the cops, Worm from the Undertaker,
and both of them from this untruthful story told by the Undertaker. Maxwell was only trying to help
Worm. After seeing how the Undertaker treated Worm and her mom and how he was abusing them,
he thought taking Worm and running away would help Worm. "'Run away!' her mother urges. 'Do it!
Go!'," (Philbrick 26). When Worm's mom told him to take Worm, he knew he needed to help her get
away from the Undertaker. Misunderstood is definitely the best way to describe Max in the book
Max the Mighty. Max only wanted to help Worm and keep her away from dangerous situations. The
Undertaker was trying to sabotage Max into looking like he was the one putting Worm in danger.
This is not how Max wanted to appear when saving

Almelund Analysis
Post–war Years in Almelund When John returned home after serving in the military, his parents,
adhering to temporal and ethnic traditions, moved off the farm and left its operation to their eldest
son. Subsequent to reluctantly accepting the responsibility of working the land, John sought out
opportunities to enhance his life, both vocationally and socially, beyond the confines of the farm.
Fortunately, John's younger brother, Oscar, a single adult, remained behind to ably assist with the
work, which of course permitted John flexibility in choice of activities. In the winter, when the
workload on the farm slackened, John hired out his services to the owner of a saw mill.
Occasionally, he cut down trees to supply the mill and at other times he worked in the mill. In
preparation for another vocational venture, John attended school in Austin, Minnesota for training to
run a steam engine and threshing machine. Even with his limited formal education, John excelled in
his mathematical studies. After his training and throughout most of the 1920s, John ran a threshing
rig and supervised a threshing crew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents, including John and Ruth, brought their children to the store to sit on Santa's lap and reveal
their deepest wishes for their most desired toys. The Blomquist's toddler, Marvy, awestruck and

and verbalized his amazement by loudly repeating the word Jesus over and over again. Even though
he amused numerous townsfolk and farm families who overheard his mistaken identification of the

toddler clung to for security and finally settled

that Dwayne Johnson has made in his careers towards the WWE and acting proves beyond a doubt
that the WWE Hall of Fame should induct this athlete. Reasons he should be in the WWE Hall of

Miss Cynthie and City of Refuge Comparison Essay
Pedro Rodriguez Exam #1 The Great Migration reshape of American History Rudolph Fisher in the
story Miss Cynthie and City of Refuge does a great job by exploiting the different characters of the
Great Migration. For example, for immigrants that has just arrived to Harlem Fisher highlights Miss
Cynthie and Gillis. For immigrants that are established in Harlem Fisher highlights two characters
headed in two different directions; one is David an established artist, second is Uggam a person
involved in illegal activities. All of these serve the purpose of reporters for the reader to get a deeper
knowledge of the life during the Great Migration. When Miss Cynthie arrives to the city of New
York she is flabbergasted at the decorum that she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What we are able to see from this change of heart is that Miss Cynthie understands that just because
Dave chose a different career it does not mean that he forgot about the morals that she taught him.
We see Miss Cynthie's perspective towards Dave changing when in the story it says "Miss Cynthie,
smiling at him with bright, meaningful eyes, leaned over without rising from her chair, jerked a tiny
twig off the stem of the flower, ten sat decisively back, resolutely folding her arms, with only a leaf
in her hand. "This'll do me," she said."(page 47) The action of Miss Cynthie reaching for a leaf is a
symbol of her acceptance towards David's career. Miss Cynthie perspective towards the north
changes, as she is able to acknowledge that just because you are dancing does not mean that you
lose your morals. Dave's perspective in the story is a very seldom one because he wants to slowly
get Miss Cynthie accustomed to live in the North. The way that Dave does this is by showing Miss
Cynthie around the town and then finally decides to take her to watch the play. We see evidence of
Dave's humbleness when Miss Cynthie ask Dave about his career and she mentions that she prefers
for him to be a doctor or at least and undertaker, Dave responds "Undertaker! Oh, Miss Cynthie–
with my sunny disposition?" (page 38) This was a very humble approach by Dave to take. The

Felix Longoria Wake Summary
Patrick J. Carrol's Felix Longoria's Wake: bereavement, racism, and the rise of Mexican American
activism is a book of significance in the fight for equal rights for all Americans especially people of
minority ethnicities like Mexican Americans. Carrol takes the reader on a tour of South Texas,
where Mexicans and Anglos are segregated by train tracks whether that be schools, housing and
even the cemetery where after death Mexican Americans are being segregated and discriminated
against. The Mexican American activism fire grows red hot when Felix Longoria a private in the
United States Army is killed in active duty during the Second World War on November 11, 1944 in
the Philippines. When his body is set to be reburied in his hometown of Three Rivers, only to be
rejected twice by the undertaker Tom Kennedy, who just recently purchased the chapel, because
white people in the town would not like a Mexican American to use the chapel. This revelation of
discrimination, racism and ethnocentrism in the small town of Three Rivers will lead Felix Longoria
family, Dr. Hector P. Garcia and LBJ on a three to four months crusade on a national level and local
level fight for Mexican American civil rights in South Texas. Even though Private Felix Longoria
never gets the wake he is rightfully deserved, he is buried with full military honors.
Patrick J. Carroll followed complete a thorough thesis in Felix Longoria wake. The book is about
activism that shows racism, discrimination and

A Receiving Vault Research Paper
A "receiving vault" is a structure designed to hold the bodies of the deceased during the winter
months when the ground was too frozen to dig graves, but they are sometimes used to store a body
that is to be transported elsewhere, or a family mausoleum is to be constructed. With the charter of
Riverview Cemetery Corporation in 1858, the company began construction of a receiving vault into
the hillside along what is today Ravine Avenue. It was completed the following year. Built of stone
and brick, it has four arched–ceiling vaults, two on either side, each of which originally had wooden
shelves capable of storing three caskets, and above the iron door is found "Receiving Vault 1859."
The receiving vault found use during the blizzards of both

The Godfather Opening Scene Essay
The Godfather is the story of Vito and Michael Corleone. Michael is the son of Vito who is the Don
of the Corleone mafia crime family. The Godfather depicts how an orphaned Sicilian immigrant
rises to the top of organized crime in America and how his son, who at first shuns his father's world,
embraces his father's way of life after the attempted murder on his father.
Mise–en–scene paints the picture of a film and is also known as what is on the stage. At the
beginning of The Godfather, the movie starts at in darkness with the words of the undertaker being
heard saying, "I believe in America." We then see the undertaker come into frame. The low–key
lighting on the face of the undertaker casts a dark shadow over the entire scene and immediately
makes the audience feel the despair and fear coming from him. The benefit from the lighting of the
opening scene is that it sets the stage for the violent and criminal nature of the film. ... Show more

One in particular that focuses on the use of sound and music is the restaurant scene where Michael
kills the family's rival gangster Sollozzo and corrupt police captain, McCluskey. Coppola makes two
main choices with the sound to create tension in the scene. He chooses not to include music in the
scene and exaggerates key sound effects to heighten Michael's emotional state. As the three of the
men sit down, the first sound you hear is the pop of the cork being twisted off the wine bottle. It is
an exaggerated sound and much louder than anything else that is being heard inside the restaurant
but it sets the tone for the scene as if to say to listen more closely. Sollozzo and Michael starts
talking in Italian but you aren't provided with any subtitles so unless you know Italian, you don't
really know what they are saying. As a result, you pay more attention to how things are being said
and the body language being used. You're listening to the sound of the language, not the

The Undertaker's Journey
From the start of the movie with the Undertaker, Don Corleone displays his noble side. The
Undertaker's story is a very sad one where the law failed him and he goes to the Don to deal with
this issue. The Don says he will help the Undertaker with his daughter's attempted rapists and
victimizers, but not the way the undertaker wants to. The Don has a moral code that one would not
expect from a harden criminal. His moral code is similar to "an eye for eye" mentality. The
Undertaker wants the Don to kill the attackers, but the Don will not go that far because the
Undertaker still has his daughter. Don Corleone shows this later when ending family wars. Now that
both the Corleone family and the Tattaglia family lost a son they are even. This is what makes him
the anti hero. His views on the drug trade also make him seem much more likable than the families.

He starts being and outsider to the family business and slowly but surer joins the the business and
comes to lead it. Before joining and leading the family for a few years Michael tells to his current
girlfriend, Kay, when discussing what his family does that, "That's my family. That's not me."
(Coppola). These lines would soon come back to haunt Michael when he goes to ask Kay to marry
him after joining his his family. Though Michael thought he would never join the family business
the change comes through the need for him to protect his family especially his father. Michael goes
through change at hospital where he has to protect his father from Sollozo's men. He soon realizes
that unlike the Baker, who is helping him, he is used to this type of work and danger. Michael then
has his first real contact with the family business when he gets punched in the face by a corrupt
police officer. This really marks the change in Michael physically by the mark left on his face and
emotionally by Michael finally accepting his role in his

Essay on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Mark Twain's classic novel, The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn, tells the story of a teenaged misfit who finds himself floating on a raft down the
Mississippi River with an escaping slave, Jim. In the course of their perilous journey, Huck and Jim
meet adventure, danger, and a cast of characters who are sometimes menacing and often hilarious.

This innocence allows Twain to satirize religious sentimentality and superficiality with abandon.
Miss Watson and Widow Douglas, Huck's unofficial guardians who try to "sivilize" him, teach Huck
the concept of Christianity. The women emphasis prayer and Providence. Huck recalls, "She told me
to pray every day, and whatever I asked for I would get it" (10). The literal minded young boy
believes that he would receive anything he desires if he prays for it. This is made apparent when
Huck states, "I tried for the hooks three or four times, but somehow I couldn't make it work" (11).
Further attempts by the two women to explain prayer only leads to more confusion, making Twain's
point that religious practices, in this case prayer, do not always make sense. To further this point,
Twain includes Huck's confusion over Providence. Each of the women explains the concept of
Providence differently, actually contradicting one another. Huck explains what he is taught by
saying, "I judged I could see that there was two Providences." Thus, Twain criticizes religious
philosophy by creating a scenario whereby the two women, and subsequently Huck, have two
juxtapose interpretations of a religious concept. Twain conveys his message of how ridiculous it is
for two or more people to have different interpretations of the same religious concept and still claim
to practice the same

Analysis Of Patricia Smith 's Poem The Undertaker
Use of Social Commentary in Patricia Smith's Poem "The Undertaker"
In Patricia Smith's poem "The Undertaker," she makes use of social commentary by using imagery
and other literary devices to appeal to the reader. This poem was created to help society realize that
there is a much needed change with young men who lives are constantly ending due to gang
violence. The poem focuses on an undertaker who specializes in recreating the natural state of dead
bodies, ones that have been mutilated. The undertaker specializes in this recreation for a specific
group of young men, "gang members". The poem opens up explaining how when a gunshot enters
the brain, the head explodes. The poem starts off catching the reader's attention, because as a reader
that is something no human wants to ever imagine happening to anybody or their selves. Smith
states in lines 2–4, "I can think of no softer warning for the mothers who sit doubled before the desk,
knotting their smooth brown hands, and begging, fix my box, fix my boy"(Smith 292).(what is the
warning he is referring to?). Reiterating that there is nothing that could be done or said to help these
mothers. The mother in this poem is begging "fix my boy", wanting the undertaker to make a
miracle. She shows the undertaker a picture, but it's not the same person the undertaker sees laying
inside the body bag. Patricia is illustrating a problem, young men being shot, grieving mothers,

to show the audience watching on YouTube or TV a false realism to the 'sport'. The director's

The Effective Language In Henry Lawson's 'Bush Undertaker'
Henry Lawson presents descriptive language to represent the challenges of the bush and establishes
the hardship and loneliness derived from living in harsh conditions, conveying the differences
between poverty and wealth. In the Bush Undertaker, Lawson uses detailed and expressive language
to describe the setting such as "the bank of a barren creek" or "broiling Christmas day", representing
the scorching hot and dry climate of Australia. The experience of remaining in the extreme heat of
Australia conditions over an extended period shapes the individual's character. The informal
colloquial language of the solitary old shepherd is an effect of long term isolation and loneliness due
to the harsh reality of the Australian bush. Lawson describes the undertaker as a mad "hatter",
displaying his madness through speaking his thoughts to himself and his animal companion, Five
Bob. "I likes to keep it jist on the sizzle," he said in explanation to himself; "hard bilin' makes it
tough – I'll keep it jist a–simmerin'." Here his soliloquy was interrupted by the return of the dog. The
undertaker's crazy character does not cease there. His infatuation for the Aboriginal corpse further
reveals his bizarre nature, for a "normal" suburban individual would be repelled from that kind of
situation. The hatter not only holds a conversation with the corpse but also comes in to physical
contact with it. Since he dwells in the poor, arid bush, resource is scarce, therefore, the hatter is
compelled

Plot Of Antigone Plot
Plot Summary: The story takes place in Victorian Era London. Creon is a rich earl who is feared by
many. His nephews, Eteocles and Polyneices, engaged in a duel over who would be viable to inherit
his fortune (which belonged to their father before Creon). Both were killed. Because Polyneices
started the conflict, Creon decided that he was disgraced and ordered that he be given no funeral or
proper burial. But one of Polyneices's sisters, Antigone, decided that Creon's ruling was unfair and
went behind his back to try and organise a funeral for him.
Act Summary: The undertaker at the local funeral parlor met Antigone when she arrived, trying to
organize a funeral for her disgraced brother. Knowing that Creon had notified every funeral parlor in
the area that Polyneices was to be denied a funeral, he brought Antigone to Creon's estate, where the
two get into an argument.

Well, I see no point in denying it.

Weird Melancholy Of Henry Lawson 's ' The Bush Undertaker...
Weird Melancholy in Henry Lawson's 'The Bush Undertaker' and Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging
Rock
In 1876, in his preface to Adam Lindsay Gordon's Poems, novelist Marcus Clarke coined the phrase
'Weird Melancholy' in reference to what he perceived to be the 'dominant note' of his country's
landscape and his subject's verse. In doing so, he distilled the entire mood of Australian Gothic into
one eerie essence, an essence present, to varying extents, in all texts of that genre. This can be seen
through an examination of two exemplary Australian Gothic texts, each vastly different from the
other in form and content, but united by their pervasive aura of Weirdness and Melancholy: Henry
Lawson's 1894 short story 'The Bush Undertaker' and Peter ... Show more content on

After doing this, a 'great greasy black goanna' (29) causes the hatter the stumble upon the corpse of
his friend, Brummy. In describing the reptile, alliteration serves as emphasis, while the word 'black'
connotes the native Australian whose bones have been disinterred by the protagonist. As he goes
about burying Brummy, the goanna, always accompanied by the epithet 'black', reappears
continually. The man's repeated sightings of the creature link it to something sinister, until it
becomes a symbolic force of justice, frighteningly rebuking the hatter for his profanity of a sacred
site (Lee). The goanna is a metaphor for a divine power, supernatural, fatalistic, and truly Weird.
The idea that human activity is governed by a higher power, resulting in a lack of personal agency, is
also explored in Picnic at Hanging Rock. Even before they arrive at their picnic spot, the convoy
from Appleyard College seem to be greatly affected by Hanging Rock. Mathematics mistress Miss
McCraw seems mesmerised by the monolith, speaking quietly and 'almost nostalgically' (Green 11)
about its creation:
Silicious lava, forced up from deep down below. Soda trachytes extruded in a highly viscous state,
building the steep–sides mametons we see in Hanging Rock. And quite young, geologically
speaking. Barely a millions years old. (Greene, 11)

the picnickers. Further, her

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain
One thing is well understood is one should never deliberate over religion or politics in specific
social settings. Religion is and has always been a topic of serious controversy and indifference.
Literature has become a major source of media in which religious sentiments are discussed. The
description of one boy, Huck and his adventures allows Mark Twain the chance to convey Huck
Finn's perspective on religion to his readers. In his novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,
Mark Twain uses such literary devices as satire, humor, and irony throughout his work to illustrate
his distaste for religion and religious conventions. In various scenes in the novel, Twain illustrates
his animosity towards religion, as normally serious conventions are portrayed as comical.
Huckleberry Finn, the main character, is either directly involved in these scenarios or otherwise a
viewer and subsequent narrator of these humorous events.
Literature can be used to augment your thoughts and place it under a friendly and sharing light for
which other readers can interpret and further develop their understandings. Gregg Bentley had a
similar way of seeing things. He writes in this short essay,"Literature provides us with a variety of
lenses by means of which to rethink the material and ideological spaces that we occupy in this
world." This is what Mark Twain illustrated in Huckleberry Finn. He used the scenes in the book to
challenge the ideologies of his readers, and by challenging the reader he is

Essay on Professional Wrestling
Professional Wrestling
Watching a well–built young man take a death–defying fifteen foot leap through a wooden table
onto another man's prone body can be a thrilling experience. The fact is if you are a fan of
professional wrestling today you have grown used to these stunts as if they weren't as spectacular as
they sound.
Professional wrestling's recent boom in popularity began in the late 90's, but unlike it's past success
it is not as safe as once was. While all theatrics the stunts have continued to push the limits to levels
that have never been seen before. The results of this constant risktaking can be seen in the early
retirements of many of pro–wrestling's brightest stars and rookies who ... Show more content on

In addition to this they also began to appreciate a new style of wrestling, a wrestling labeled as
"extreme" wrestling.
"Extreme" wrestling was not your typical wrestling match in which the gladiators would exchange
moves and holds as they built the match to it's climax. In this type of wrestling, the competitors had
replaced the generic moves with high–impact moves, steel chairs, barbed wire, wooden tables, and
jumps and falls that resemble movie stunts.
This new type of wrestling has been criticized as being just as dangerous to an athlete's health as
steroids were to them in the past. This type of wrestling has caused many of the upcoming wrestlers
to become myths and legends before they even make it to television.
One great example of this is a wrestler known as Mick Foley. Foley never had physique or looks to
be a professional wrestler. Instead, Mick had a high threshold for pain and a great sense of humor.
For Mick this ended up being a winning combination in the world of wrestling. He went on to
become one of the most beloved stars of all time but not before 17 years in wrestling destroyed both
his body and mind. Mick's list of career injuries is like a lesson in human anatomy. He has incurred

8. Edge gets Choke Slammed through the ring and lit on fire
After Edge and Undertaker's Hell in a Cell match, The Undertaker set up a huge ladder in the middle
of the ring and carried Edge to the top. The Undertaker grabbed Edge by the throat and proceeded to
Chokeslam him from the top of the ladder.
Edge hit the ring with such force, a hole was formed and Edge fell through it. As Undertaker put his
arms up, fire rose from the hole Edge fell into. Edge was on fire, and Undertaker fulfilled his
promise to "Take Edge to hell. Literally."

Shawn Michaels was hanging on to the top of the Cell by one hand. Suddenly, his life changed
forever as his opponent stomped on his hand, causing Shawn to fall off the Cell and through the

Of course, he wasn't all the way at the top, but he still fell around 14 feet. The original Cell was 16
feet tall and weighed two tons. Since then, the Cell has been amplified and now stands at 21 feet tall,

Funeral Service Workers And Funeral Services
A mortician, also known as a undertaker, is a professional involved in the business of funeral rites.
These tasks often are the dressing and burial or cremation of the dead, as well as the planning and
arrangement of the actual funeral ceremony. Together with the family, funeral service workers
establish the locations, dates, and times of the visitations (wakes), funerals or memorial services,
burials, and cremations. They handle other details as well, such as determining whether the body
should be buried, entombed, or cremated. This decision is critical because funeral practices vary
among cultures and religions.
Most funeral service workers deal with paperwork pertaining to the person's death, including
submitting papers to state officials to receive a death certificate. Some help resolve insurance claims
or apply for veterans' funeral benefits on behalf of the family. They also may notify the Social
Security Administration of the death.
A growing number of funeral service workers collaborate with clients who wish to plan their own
funerals in advance to ensure that their needs are met.
Increasingly, funeral service workers also help individuals adapt to changes in their lives following a
death with support groups.
Funeral service managers oversee the general operations of a

Essay On The Undertaker
The Undertaker is without a doubt the single most iconic figure in the history of professional
wrestling. A mixture of talent, time, and sheer dedication to craft and character has pushed him

all time whenever he decides to hang up his boots. Mark Calaway, the man behind the Undertaker

While that's great news for those who believe kayfabe is a lost art, it means fans have not been able

5. Triple H
The Undertaker and Triple H have had their problems over the years. 'Taker did not take kindly to
the infamous Curtain Call when Hunter, along with his fellow Kilq members, broke kayfabe to have
a pseudo–emotional moment in the ring with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, who were leaving for
WCW.
However, several years later, when Triple H was pushed to the main event, he began to win The
Deadman over. The pair had a series of stellar encounters and together they saw their
contemporaries drop off one by one. Eventually, The Undertaker and Triple H were left as the last of
a dying breath and were entrusted with maintaining order in the locker room.
The pair shared a genuine emotional moment after their match at WrestleMania XXVII, with both
men admitting they had their doubts if they could still go inside the ring and thanking the other for
bringing out the best in them.

Descriptive Essay On A Christmas Creature
The Christmas Creature
It's a typical December 24, cold, snowy, and jolly as can be. Though my friends and I are away from
the elements safe in our basement, we are playing the new Call of Duty. Spirits high, Christmas is
just around the corner. L.J. a close athletic partner that I have played with for a while was at my
house, he was the best Call of Duty player I knew, a tall, lean, blonde haired boy. Izak was at my
house as well, a shy, orange haired kid that kept to himself most of the time. And myself, a blonde,
short haired kid, somewhat short and skinny. All was normal, and fun a usual, until...
I was sitting out the round, izak and L.J. still playing, L.J. kicking his butt like a rented mule as
usual, we often didn't care because he was nice about it, most of the time. After the round was over
we decided that we would go outside like our parents had requested a couple of hours ago and sled.
We quickly got our stuff on, none of us could stand the music that our parents listened to. So we
quickly shut the door behind us, and began talking about school and sports. The sled hill was one
block away, so we took our time walking there. Just before we got out of the neighborhood, we
painfully clenched our ears, we heard a loud krbooom and then a terrifying screech. Not hesitating
we ran, only stopping once to look behind us, a a long lanky creature standing on two legs with
horns like a goat, looked me right in the eye, I could tell this by its great yellow eyes. By that point
we were at an all out sprint, we turn on a sharp corner and took cover by a tiny snow fort some
young kids had made.
"Whaaat wa–as that?" Izak barely muttered. L.J. is speechless, on the verge of tears he says, "We
gotta play less video games." I respond quickly by saying, "I saw the thing, it look like a standing
goat with black hair, and very, very yellow eyes, that was real!" We stopped momentarily to review
the scary moment we have just encountered.
"Surly others people had to have heard that thing, right?"
Thinking for a moment, I say, "We should go back to my house, and see what happened."
L.J., outraged, sputters in a low yell, "Are you crazy, we will get killed by that thing."
I pause, " well what else are we supposed

Goldust was a character that was known for his quirky attires throughout his career. In the late 1997,
Goldust was paired with an equally crazy valet, Luna Vachon. Though this pairing did not last for a
very long time, it will be known for a lascivious gimmick.
During this short period, Luna brought Goldust to the ring with a chain around his neck and gag ball
in his mouth. Goldust had ditched his golden outfit for a green one. The new outfit even had silver
spikes covering his nipples.
This was a ludicrous act and was not even entertaining. Thank God that the angle was not continued

Premature Burial
Burial of the dead is defined as the act of placing the deceased's remains inside a tomb or grave.
Entombment of human corpse began on account of ancient religious traditions and beliefs. The
placement of a body underground was due to the belief that the underground was the gateway for the
afterworld. Once buried, a stone engraved with the name of the body lay by the burial place as a
marker. This custom began in 5000 B.C. in ancient Sumer, and continues presently. Although our
loved ones may be given a proper ceremony and burial; this act may be done before it's natural or
suitable time. In other words, a human may be sent to a living death. This is properly known as

The Undertaker Scene In Hamlet By William Shakespeare
The scene happens in the most intense snapshot of the play. There has been a progression of
shocking scenes previously the undertaker scene. Polonius is murdered by Hamlet in Claudius' bed

with them to England. Ophelia goes frantic and soon Laertes touches base with swarm. Before long
Hamlet sends back letters to Horatio and the ruler that he is coming. So when the gathering of people
holds up to see a definitive result of every one of these happenings the two undertakers go ahead the

God's Undertaker Summary
John Lennox in his book, God's Undertaker, attempts to make sense of the misconception that
science and religion conflict with each other. Lennox makes the argument that science and theism
are compatible. He believes that science is best explained on a biological and rational level by
theism. Science itself can only describe materials and processes in the natural world, not why the
world was created. This leads Lennox to what he believes is the actual debate between theism and
naturalism. Science indicates an intelligent creator who created the universe and thus to theism.
Science and religion are not at odds but in fact, complement each other. Lennox first clarifies who
the intellectual opponents are. The battle is not between science and religion, but between theism
and naturalism. Science is best explained logically and biologically by theism. Lennox defines
naturalism as the belief that the cosmos is the sum of reality and is all that there is, was, and ever

new genetic material in increasingly complex organisms. Microevolution is an observable process
that Charles Darwin observed in the finches on the Galapagos Islands. Naturalists took the concept
of microevolution and applied it to the entire genesis of life itself with unobserved macroevolution.
Furthermore, it does not make rational sense for non–living matter to spontaneously create DNA and
life from within itself. Naturalists cannot determine an observable way that life came into existence
and so instead place the theory of evolution into the gap of their

Analysis Of Barbie Doll

  • 1. Analysis Of Barbie Doll Vying for Perfection (1a) The poem "Barbie Doll" written by Marge Piercy contains several denotations and connotations throughout the work. Denotation, signifying the literal meaning or dictionary definition, whereas connotation signifies the various meanings related to the word. In the poem, the words "cosmetics" (20) and "happy ending" (25) stood out. The poet writes, "In the casket displayed on satin she lay / with the undertaker's cosmetics painted on, / a turned–up putty nose, /." (lines 19–21) Cosmetics as presented in Webster's Dictionary is "relating to or making for beauty especially of the complexion." The reader could also interpret that word as maybe not just to look better but to also mask the internal struggle that the individual is dealing with. Using make–up, women more–so like to paint a facade to feel and look a certain way to attract others, as the woman in the poem does. Going to the next phrase, "happy ending", denotes that it will end on a good note for the protagonist. "To every woman a happy ending. (line 25)" Happy ending could also be characterized, especially in this poem as the opposite. The woman throughout the poem is struggling to appeal like a "Barbie Doll" on the exterior and wants to fulfill society's own preference for beautiful causing the female to resort to physical harm. "She was advised to pay coy, / exhorted to come on hearty, / exercise, diet, smile, and wheedle." (lines 12–14) As emphasized she was someone that she is not for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"Freak The Mighty has become a standard reading selection in thousands of classrooms worldwide, and now has nearly three million copies in print" (RodmanPhilbrick.com, n. d.). Max who is now on his own since his best friend died met someone named worm after rescuing her from nearly getting beat by her stepfather, and is now in search of her real dad. Max was stumbling down the street when he heard a loud yell from a little girl. Max jolted around the corner until he found the loud yell, as he turned the corner there was a little girl trying to get her bag back from a bully. As he got the bag from ... Maxwell is a kind person who cares about Worm enough to want to help her. Maxwell Kane comes about as a misunderstood character in the book Max the Mighty. Maxwell thought he was doing the right thing. From his perspective, he was taking Worm away from all the danger in her life. On the other hand, the people believed he had kidnapped Worm and put her in danger. No one could understand Worm had to get away from her home."And when I look into the room through the bars on the window, I see a terrible thing," (Philbrick 25). Max was sure this was the best thing to do when he saw how Worm and her mom were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Undertaker made it seem as if Max had kidnapped Worm from her home. The Undertaker had made this story up to make it seem as if Max was the bad guy in this situation."I knew that would happen,' Worm says. 'He can make my mom say anything...," (Philbrick 32). He even made Worm's mom go along with it. He told this to the cops. After hearing the cops were after him, Max decided to run away with Worm. The story from the Undertaker was seen all over television and in the newspaper. This meant everyone was searching for the so–called kidnapper Max. He went on many adventures including, a bus ride, sprinting through the woods, running from police cars, and even riding on a train. He did these things to stay away from everyone that was looking for him and Worm. Max did everything he could to protect himself from the cops, Worm from the Undertaker, and both of them from this untruthful story told by the Undertaker. Maxwell was only trying to help Worm. After seeing how the Undertaker treated Worm and her mom and how he was abusing them, he thought taking Worm and running away would help Worm. "'Run away!' her mother urges. 'Do it! Go!'," (Philbrick 26). When Worm's mom told him to take Worm, he knew he needed to help her get away from the Undertaker. Misunderstood is definitely the best way to describe Max in the book Max the Mighty. Max only wanted to help Worm and keep her away from dangerous situations. The Undertaker was trying to sabotage Max into looking like he was the one putting Worm in danger. This is not how Max wanted to appear when saving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Almelund Analysis Post–war Years in Almelund When John returned home after serving in the military, his parents, adhering to temporal and ethnic traditions, moved off the farm and left its operation to their eldest son. Subsequent to reluctantly accepting the responsibility of working the land, John sought out opportunities to enhance his life, both vocationally and socially, beyond the confines of the farm. Fortunately, John's younger brother, Oscar, a single adult, remained behind to ably assist with the work, which of course permitted John flexibility in choice of activities. In the winter, when the workload on the farm slackened, John hired out his services to the owner of a saw mill. Occasionally, he cut down trees to supply the mill and at other times he worked in the mill. In preparation for another vocational venture, John attended school in Austin, Minnesota for training to run a steam engine and threshing machine. Even with his limited formal education, John excelled in his mathematical studies. After his training and throughout most of the 1920s, John ran a threshing rig and supervised a threshing crew ... Miss Cynthie and City of Refuge Comparison Essay Pedro Rodriguez Exam #1 The Great Migration reshape of American History Rudolph Fisher in the story Miss Cynthie and City of Refuge does a great job by exploiting the different characters of the Great Migration. For example, for immigrants that has just arrived to Harlem Fisher highlights Miss Cynthie and Gillis. For immigrants that are established in Harlem Fisher highlights two characters headed in two different directions; one is David an established artist, second is Uggam a person involved in illegal activities. All of these serve the purpose of reporters for the reader to get a deeper knowledge of the life during the Great Migration. What we are able to see from this change of heart is that Miss Cynthie understands that just because Dave chose a different career it does not mean that he forgot about the morals that she taught him. We see Miss Cynthie's perspective towards Dave changing when in the story it says "Miss Cynthie, smiling at him with bright, meaningful eyes, leaned over without rising from her chair, jerked a tiny twig off the stem of the flower, ten sat decisively back, resolutely folding her arms, with only a leaf in her hand. "This'll do me," she said."(page 47) The action of Miss Cynthie reaching for a leaf is a symbol of her acceptance towards David's career. Miss Cynthie perspective towards the north changes, as she is able to acknowledge that just because you are dancing does not mean that you lose your morals. Dave's perspective in the story is a very seldom one because he wants to slowly get Miss Cynthie accustomed to live in the North. The way that Dave does this is by showing Miss Cynthie around the town and then finally decides to take her to watch the play. We see evidence of Dave's humbleness when Miss Cynthie ask Dave about his career and she mentions that she prefers for him to be a doctor or at least and undertaker, Dave responds "Undertaker! Oh, Miss Cynthie– with my sunny disposition?" (page 38) This was a very humble approach by Dave to take. The perspective of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the charter of Riverview Cemetery Corporation in 1858, the company began construction of a receiving vault into the hillside along what is today Ravine Avenue. It was completed the following year. Built of stone and brick, it has four arched–ceiling vaults, two on either side, each of which originally had wooden shelves capable of storing three caskets, and above the iron door is found "Receiving Vault 1859." The Godfather depicts how an orphaned Sicilian immigrant rises to the top of organized crime in America and how his son, who at first shuns his father's world, embraces his father's way of life after the attempted murder on his father. Mise–en–scene paints the picture of a film and is also known as what is on the stage. At the beginning of The Godfather, the movie starts at in darkness with the words of the undertaker being heard saying, "I believe in America." We then see the undertaker come into frame. The low–key lighting on the face of the undertaker casts a dark shadow over the entire scene and immediately makes the audience feel the despair and fear coming from him. The benefit from the lighting of the opening scene is that it sets the stage for the violent and criminal nature of the film. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One in particular that focuses on the use of sound and music is the restaurant scene where Michael kills the family's rival gangster Sollozzo and corrupt police captain, McCluskey. As the three of the men sit down, the first sound you hear is the pop of the cork being twisted off the wine bottle. The Undertaker's story is a very sad one where the law failed him and he goes to the Don to deal with this issue. The Don says he will help the Undertaker with his daughter's attempted rapists and victimizers, but not the way the undertaker wants to. The Don has a moral code that one would not expect from a harden criminal. His moral code is similar to "an eye for eye" mentality. The Undertaker wants the Don to kill the attackers, but the Don will not go that far because the Undertaker still has his daughter. Don Corleone shows this later when ending family wars. Essay on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Mark Twain's classic novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, tells the story of a teenaged misfit who finds himself floating on a raft down the Mississippi River with an escaping slave, Jim. In the course of their perilous journey, Huck and Jim meet adventure, danger, and a cast of characters who are sometimes menacing and often hilarious. A hackneyed expression states that one should never discuss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This innocence allows Twain to satirize religious sentimentality and superficiality with abandon. Miss Watson and Widow Douglas, Huck's unofficial guardians who try to "sivilize" him, teach Huck the concept of Christianity. The women emphasis prayer and Providence. Huck recalls, "She told me to pray every day, and whatever I asked for I would get it" (10). The literal minded young boy believes that he would receive anything he desires if he prays for it. This is made apparent when Huck states, "I tried for the hooks three or four times, but somehow I couldn't make it work" (11). Further attempts by the two women to explain prayer only leads to more confusion, making Twain's point that religious practices, in this case prayer, do not always make sense. To further this point, Twain includes Huck's confusion over Providence. Each of the women explains the concept of Providence differently, actually contradicting one another. Huck explains what he is taught by saying, "I judged I could see that there was two Providences." Thus, Twain criticizes religious philosophy by creating a scenario whereby the two women, and subsequently Huck, have two juxtapose interpretations of a religious concept. Twain conveys his message of how ridiculous it is for two or more people to have different interpretations of the same religious concept and still claim to practice the same ... Analysis Of Patricia Smith 's Poem The Undertaker Use of Social Commentary in Patricia Smith's Poem "The Undertaker" In Patricia Smith's poem "The Undertaker," she makes use of social commentary by using imagery and other literary devices to appeal to the reader. This poem was created to help society realize that there is a much needed change with young men who lives are constantly ending due to gang violence. The poem focuses on an undertaker who specializes in recreating the natural state of dead bodies, ones that have been mutilated. The undertaker specializes in this recreation for a specific group of young men, "gang members". The poem opens up explaining how when a gunshot enters the brain, the head explodes. The poem starts off catching the reader's attention, because as a reader that is something no human wants to ever imagine happening to anybody or their selves. Smith states in lines 2–4, "I can think of no softer warning for the mothers who sit doubled before the desk, knotting their smooth brown hands, and begging, fix my box, fix my boy"(Smith 292).(what is the warning he is referring to?). Reiterating that there is nothing that could be done or said to help these mothers. The mother in this poem is begging "fix my boy", wanting the undertaker to make a miracle. She shows the undertaker a picture, but it's not the same person the undertaker sees laying inside the body bag. Patricia is illustrating a problem, young men being shot, grieving mothers, ... • 62. The Effective Language In Henry Lawson's 'Bush Undertaker' Henry Lawson presents descriptive language to represent the challenges of the bush and establishes the hardship and loneliness derived from living in harsh conditions, conveying the differences between poverty and wealth. In the Bush Undertaker, Lawson uses detailed and expressive language to describe the setting such as "the bank of a barren creek" or "broiling Christmas day", representing the scorching hot and dry climate of Australia. The experience of remaining in the extreme heat of Australia conditions over an extended period shapes the individual's character. The informal colloquial language of the solitary old shepherd is an effect of long term isolation and loneliness due to the harsh reality of the Australian bush. Lawson describes the undertaker as a mad "hatter", displaying his madness through speaking his thoughts to himself and his animal companion, Five Bob. "I likes to keep it jist on the sizzle," he said in explanation to himself; "hard bilin' makes it tough – I'll keep it jist a–simmerin'." Here his soliloquy was interrupted by the return of the dog. The undertaker's crazy character does not cease there. His infatuation for the Aboriginal corpse further reveals his bizarre nature, for a "normal" suburban individual would be repelled from that kind of situation. The hatter not only holds a conversation with the corpse but also comes in to physical contact with it. Since he dwells in the poor, arid bush, resource is scarce, therefore, the hatter is compelled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His nephews, Eteocles and Polyneices, engaged in a duel over who would be viable to inherit his fortune (which belonged to their father before Creon). Both were killed. Because Polyneices started the conflict, Creon decided that he was disgraced and ordered that he be given no funeral or proper burial. But one of Polyneices's sisters, Antigone, decided that Creon's ruling was unfair and went behind his back to try and organise a funeral for him. Act Summary: The undertaker at the local funeral parlor met Antigone when she arrived, trying to organize a funeral for her disgraced brother. Knowing that Creon had notified every funeral parlor in the area that Polyneices was to be denied a funeral, he brought Antigone to Creon's estate, where the two get into an argument. [CREON stands with his arms crossed, clearly upset with ANTIGONE, who stares ahead forlornly. Her lavish dress is dirty, as if she had struggled to avoid capture. The UNDERTAKER still holds her arm tightly.] CREON Have you really disobeyed me? ANTIGONE [eyes downcast, avoiding her uncle] Well, I see no point in denying it. CREON [sighs] Thank you for catching her, undertaker. You may leave now. [The UNDERTAKER nods and exits the house.] Antigone, were you fully aware that I had forbade a funeral for your embarrassment of a brother? ANTIGONE Yes. CREON So you chose to disobey your own uncle?

Weird Melancholy in Henry Lawson's 'The Bush Undertaker' and Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock In 1876, in his preface to Adam Lindsay Gordon's Poems, novelist Marcus Clarke coined the phrase 'Weird Melancholy' in reference to what he perceived to be the 'dominant note' of his country's landscape and his subject's verse. In doing so, he distilled the entire mood of Australian Gothic into one eerie essence, an essence present, to varying extents, in all texts of that genre. This can be seen through an examination of two exemplary Australian Gothic texts, each vastly different from the other in form and content, but united by their pervasive aura of Weirdness and Melancholy: Henry Lawson's 1894 short story 'The Bush Undertaker' and Peter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After doing this, a 'great greasy black goanna' (29) causes the hatter the stumble upon the corpse of his friend, Brummy. In describing the reptile, alliteration serves as emphasis, while the word 'black' connotes the native Australian whose bones have been disinterred by the protagonist. As he goes about burying Brummy, the goanna, always accompanied by the epithet 'black', reappears continually. The man's repeated sightings of the creature link it to something sinister, until it becomes a symbolic force of justice, frighteningly rebuking the hatter for his profanity of a sacred site (Lee). The goanna is a metaphor for a divine power, supernatural, fatalistic, and truly Weird. The idea that human activity is governed by a higher power, resulting in a lack of personal agency, is also explored in Picnic at Hanging Rock. Even before they arrive at their picnic spot, the convoy from Appleyard College seem to be greatly affected by Hanging Rock. Religion is and has always been a topic of serious controversy and indifference. Literature has become a major source of media in which religious sentiments are discussed. The description of one boy, Huck and his adventures allows Mark Twain the chance to convey Huck Finn's perspective on religion to his readers. In his novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain uses such literary devices as satire, humor, and irony throughout his work to illustrate his distaste for religion and religious conventions. In various scenes in the novel, Twain illustrates his animosity towards religion, as normally serious conventions are portrayed as comical. Huckleberry Finn, the main character, is either directly involved in these scenarios or otherwise a viewer and subsequent narrator of these humorous events. Literature can be used to augment your thoughts and place it under a friendly and sharing light for which other readers can interpret and further develop their understandings. Essay on Professional Wrestling Professional Wrestling Watching a well–built young man take a death–defying fifteen foot leap through a wooden table onto another man's prone body can be a thrilling experience. The fact is if you are a fan of professional wrestling today you have grown used to these stunts as if they weren't as spectacular as they sound. Professional wrestling's recent boom in popularity began in the late 90's, but unlike it's past success it is not as safe as once was. While all theatrics the stunts have continued to push the limits to levels that have never been seen before. In addition to this they also began to appreciate a new style of wrestling, a wrestling labeled as "extreme" wrestling. "Extreme" wrestling was not your typical wrestling match in which the gladiators would exchange moves and holds as they built the match to it's climax. In this type of wrestling, the competitors had replaced the generic moves with high–impact moves, steel chairs, barbed wire, wooden tables, and jumps and falls that resemble movie stunts. This new type of wrestling has been criticized as being just as dangerous to an athlete's health as steroids were to them in the past. This type of wrestling has caused many of the upcoming wrestlers to become myths and legends before they even make it to television. One great example of this is a wrestler known as Mick Foley. These tasks often are the dressing and burial or cremation of the dead, as well as the planning and arrangement of the actual funeral ceremony. Together with the family, funeral service workers establish the locations, dates, and times of the visitations (wakes), funerals or memorial services, burials, and cremations. They handle other details as well, such as determining whether the body should be buried, entombed, or cremated. This decision is critical because funeral practices vary among cultures and religions. Most funeral service workers deal with paperwork pertaining to the person's death, including submitting papers to state officials to receive a death certificate. Some help resolve insurance claims or apply for veterans' funeral benefits on behalf of the family. They also may notify the Social Security Administration of the death. A growing number of funeral service workers collaborate with clients who wish to plan their own funerals in advance to ensure that their needs are met. We quickly got our stuff on, none of us could stand the music that our parents listened to. So we quickly shut the door behind us, and began talking about school and sports. The sled hill was one block away, so we took our time walking there. Just before we got out of the neighborhood, we painfully clenched our ears, we heard a loud krbooom and then a terrifying screech. Not hesitating we ran, only stopping once to look behind us, a a long lanky creature standing on two legs with horns like a goat, looked me right in the eye, I could tell this by its great yellow eyes. By that point we were at an all out sprint, we turn on a sharp corner and took cover by a tiny snow fort some young kids had made. "Whaaat wa–as that?" Izak barely muttered. L.J. is speechless, on the verge of tears he says, "We gotta play less video games." I respond quickly by saying, "I saw the thing, it look like a standing goat with black hair, and very, very yellow eyes, that was real!" We stopped momentarily to review the scary moment we have just encountered. "Surly others people had to have heard that thing, right?" Thinking for a moment, I say, "We should go back to my house, and see what happened." L.J., outraged, sputters in a low yell, "Are you crazy, we will get killed by that thing." I pause, " well what else are we supposed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Goldust Personality 5 weirdest moments of Goldust's career Every time a list of bizarre characters who have stepped inside a wrestling ring for any promotion is made Goldust will feature on top of each and every one of those lists. In September 1995, Goldust debuted as a heel character that played mind games with his adversaries using his sexually suggestive antics. He used to make coquette and indecent advances towards his opponents during the matches. Goldust portrayed a character that was a drag queen. He always wore a golden jump suit and face paint with little splashes of other colours on the jumpsuit and a golden wig. In those days WWF was pushing the envelope with a risqué product and the Goldust gimmick was a successful attempt towards it. Over the years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1. Goldust's bondage gimmicks Goldust was a character that was known for his quirky attires throughout his career. In the late 1997, Goldust was paired with an equally crazy valet, Luna Vachon. Though this pairing did not last for a very long time, it will be known for a lascivious gimmick. During this short period, Luna brought Goldust to the ring with a chain around his neck and gag ball in his mouth. Goldust had ditched his golden outfit for a green one. The new outfit even had silver spikes covering his nipples. This was a ludicrous act and was not even entertaining. Thank God that the angle was not continued and is not mentioned on TV as it was the freakiest moment of the Bizarre One's career. Goldust is one of those characters who had thrived in the Pre–PG era. You can still trust him with sneaking up on people at the most unsuspecting places. He will surely be a WWE Hall–of–Famer when he retires, but, will continue to entertain the fans with his spooky character till ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Undertaker: The Strange Case Of Dr. Shipman As the lead investigator, the biggest part of this case was when the Undertaker began to get concerned when he noticed that Dr. Shipman's patients were dying at an unusually high rate and arriving with the same poses. The Undertaker first decided to confront Dr. Shipman about the concerns that he had with the high–rate of deaths coming in the morgue. Dr. Shipman informed the undertaker that there was nothing to be concerned about because he would not do anything wrong. • 133. Premature Burial Burial of the dead is defined as the act of placing the deceased's remains inside a tomb or grave. Entombment of human corpse began on account of ancient religious traditions and beliefs. The placement of a body underground was due to the belief that the underground was the gateway for the afterworld. Once buried, a stone engraved with the name of the body lay by the burial place as a marker. This custom began in 5000 B.C. in ancient Sumer, and continues presently. Although our loved ones may be given a proper ceremony and burial; this act may be done before it's natural or suitable time. In other words, a human may be sent to a living death. Personal Narrative: Things Fall Apart Sadly this isn't the first time I said this here as it seems I have said this far to often for my liking because I never like writing about the passing of another wrestler. Unfortunately it seems most of the members of our favorite stars pass away very young as compared to some other sporting outlets. The news broke late last night that former MMA fighter and most notably former pro–wrestler Sean O' Haire had passed away. I like most members of the IWC was very saddened to hear the news and hoped that this new was false and Sean would come out and deny the rumors, sadly he did not and it was later confirmed he had passed. Undoubtedly this was a major factor behind why the "show of shows" grosses millions for the corporation annually and it is no surprise that many WWE fans were outraged at the decision to end the streak. After all, money– hungry Lesnar only participates in major pay–per–view events such as SummerSlam and Wrestlemania. • 157. God's Undertaker Summary John Lennox in his book, God's Undertaker, attempts to make sense of the misconception that science and religion conflict with each other. Lennox makes the argument that science and theism are compatible. He believes that science is best explained on a biological and rational level by theism. Science itself can only describe materials and processes in the natural world, not why the world was created. This leads Lennox to what he believes is the actual debate between theism and naturalism. Science indicates an intelligent creator who created the universe and thus to theism. Science and religion are not at odds but in fact, complement each other. Lennox first clarifies who the intellectual opponents are. The battle is not between science and religion, but between theism and naturalism. Science is best explained logically and biologically by theism. Lennox defines naturalism as the belief that the cosmos is the sum of reality and is all that there is, was, and ever will be.
