Quality and Quantity at Kudler Fine Foods
Introduction
Kudler Fines Foods founded in 1998 and is growing rapidly. When they open their first store,
Microsoft Access was selected as the database to track inventory, orders, and customers. The
products, they sold are perishable and inventory must be properly tracked. Kudler excessive
inventory is always a concern. This paper will evaluate database tables from accounting perspective,
provide recommendation for improvement and create pivot table to help Kudler's management to
improve decision making process.
Evaluate the design elements of the data tables from an accounting perspective. First, the table
organizes the financial data into department, then financial account codes, items, and then sums the
total amount of transactions for the code. Then counts how many quantities of the items were in
inventory during the period. Second, this design maximizes the visual and informational
presentation for the financial data. Given this design, the user of the information can readily identify
what items belong to a certain department, and how many items were in to arrive at the total cost for
a particular item for the period. Third, given the presentation of the total amount and quantity on
hand for an item, the information user can easily calculate the effective average purchase price for

The Quality Of Life Of Sumner House
This research project explored the quality of life of Sumner House residents utilizing the capability
approach and addressed these questions: what opportunities residents have to live a life they truly
value and how they perceive their quality of life at Sumner House. Based on six individual
interviews, this study identified a number of key capabilities for quality of life perceived by Sumner
House residents including being healthy, receiving a high quality of care, being safe, being
independent and autonomous, having a social life, and conducting meaningful activities. The
research findings suggested that Sumner House provides residents with a range of opportunities to
achieve lives they have reason to value, especially capabilities for control over life and occupation.
Overall, interviewees expressed positive comments about their quality of life.
Interpretation of findings
Some of the research findings further support those arguments about the quality of life for older
adults in earlier studies. First of all, the value of bodily health is evident from the research. All
participants wish to keep as healthy as they can. Health condition is regarded to be linked to other
valued capabilities such as safety and independence. Therefore, Sumner House should continue to

Resident S.V. was visited in his room during the mid–morning snack delivery. This resident is
currently on a VHA Healthy Diet, oral supplementation, an evening snack as well as, receiving
Juven to help with his wounds. At the VA Hospital Juven is treated as a medication and delivered to
the nurse's station by the food service workers who are delivering the snacks to the resident's room.
The ward nurse then prepares the Juven for the patient. It was verified with resident that he is
receiving the Juven during his mid–morning snack and late afternoon snack along with his oral
supplementation. Resident was observed to be consuming about >50% of the nutritional
supplementation. It was discussed with resident the possibility of decreasing his oral supplements to
once per day since he was at a stable weight and reported to be consuming most of his meals.
Resident did agree to the change in his snacks since it will be replaced by other types of snacks to
meet his calorie needs.
Resident D.T. was visited in his room after his lunch tray was delivered. Resident appeared to be in
good spirits during the interview. He is currently on a high fiber, low carbohydrate, low fat and low
cholesterol, 1800 calorie diet. Resident did not require any assistance with tray setup or with

sections. The theoretical foundation of perceived service quality and its dimensions are reviewed in
the next section, followed by the research methodology including the development of the

At some point during the day in the United States, countless people are throwing out some food in
the garbage, either because it's not good to eat or because they serve a lot when eating. Otherwise
maybe because the food does not look fresh or simply the date that is seen on the packages indicate
that the food is no longer safe to eat. Everyday American consumers and food businesses are
throwing away tons of edible food into the trash without any concern about the irreversible
consequences being done to the environment. The consumers need to understand the differences
between food quality and food safety, because of this misunderstanding consumers are
unconsciously contributing to the statistics of food waste, and squandering the precious natural
resources used to produce food that no one eats. Every year the volume of food waste is growing
day–to–day and endangering the environment. Furthermore, the uncontrolled loss of products as a
result of inefficiencies in the supply chain for instance: the loss of products during the harvest,
storage, transport, or perhaps because the final product doesn't meet the standard requirements from

The main principles I find myself grading an organization with are visionary leadership, customer–centered excellence, valuing workforce members and partners and societal responsibility. All eleven of the principles are important. However, these tend to be the most important to me when defining the quality of an organization. For instance, I now purchase many products from the Newman's Own brand based on the principles I have mentioned. They have a strong sense of societal responsibility and ensure "100% of profits to charity" is an underlying theme in all they do (Newman 's Own, n.d.). This drew me towards them as a company, then I noticed how much they value their employees and how their core values tend to line up with the 11 Baldrige principles (Newman 's Own, n.d.). After looking into this company and seeing how they operate, I decided to purchase as many products as I could from them and ensure other people were aware of their mission.
