Ayurveda , the Indian system of medicine is a very old system of diagnosis and treatment. Ayurveda have developed its own way for diagnosis of disease and after that a suitable treatment. The slide show will provide you information for the methods of clinical diagnosis.

  3. Slide 3: Ayurveda Diagnosis  Two main methods for diagnosis of diseases One : Roga Pariksha that means diagnosis of Disease or diagnosis of ailments Two : Rogi Pariksha that means examination of patient or sick person, according to Ayurveda methodology
  4. Slide 4: Roga Pariksha [Diagnosis of Diseases]  This consists of five directives 2. Nidana 3. Poorvaroop 4. Rupa 5. Upashaya 6. Samprapti Details are in next slides
  5. Slide 5: Nidana  That means , the etiology of a disease  Which provides complete picture, in relation to the causative factors of a disease
  6. Slide 6: Purvaroop  That means, early signs and symptoms of a disease  Before the beginning of a complete disease condition
  7. Slide 7: Rupa  That means , main signs and symptoms, which indicates a disease condition
  8. Slide 8: Upashaya  When disease condition is mixes with some signs and symptoms, creating doubts and confusion for correct diagnosis  In this stage, dietetic and therapeutic steps are taken to remove the obstacles  This process is known “Upashaya”
  9. Slide 9: Samprapti  This is called “Pathogenesis of diseases”  Samprapti is divided and subdivided in few points for better understanding  The details should be seen in classical books of Ayurveda
  10. Slide 10: Rogi Pariksha  This is classified in two main divisions 3. Prashana that means interrogations to patient 4. Parikshan that means examination of patient
  11. Slide 11: Examination-1  Chakshu pariksha that means examination of patient by the observation of eyes  Inspection of patient
  12. Slide 12: Examination-2  Examination of patient by Sparshendriya that means by palpation  Examination by Hands
  13. Slide 13: Examination-3  Shravnendriya parikshan that means by auscultation and purcussions , hearing through ears
  14. Slide 14: Examination - 4  Ghrani pariksha that means examination through nose, smell, odor of excretions etc
  15. Slide 15: Examination -5  Rasan Pariksha that means by taste
  16. Slide 16: All these examinations are classically elaborated in the books of Ayurveda. But apart from these examinations, some Ayurvedicians have written much more about the examination of patient , as they have observed.
  17. Slide 17: Apart from earlier said methods, some more methods for examinations are also described in details in the classical book of Ayurveda
  18. Slide 18: Prakruti Pariksha  Examination of a patient by the study of Temperaments
  19. Slide 19: Vikratih Pariksha  Examination of the patient by the study of the morbid condition
  20. Slide 20: Avastha Pariksha  Examination of the patient by the age factors
  21. Slide 21: Ahar shakti Pariksha  Examination of the patient by evaluating the capacity of digestion and ingestion
  22. Slide 22: Vyayam shakti pariksha  Examination of the patient by the evaluating the physical power, capacity of work or capacity of exercise
  23. Slide 23: Saratah Pariksha  Examination by study of Sara of parient
  24. Slide 24: Samhananatah Pariksha  Examination by the study of the constitution of a patient
  25. Slide 25: Satavatah Pariksha  Examination of the patient by observing and studying mental condition
  26. Slide 26: Satmyatah Pariksha  Examination by the study of the capacity of the diet intake
  27. Slide 27: Pramantah Pariksha  Examination of the patient by the study of the measurements of body and body parts, like length, weight, breadth of the different organs and parts,

  29. Slide 29: Ayurveda mentions more methods for the clinical diagnosis, which should be seen in the classical books of Ayurveda respectively
