God bless you as you examine His Word,
Your servant in Christ, 2Cor. 4:5

These Microsoft PowerPoint presentations are provided "for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12-15). To help
Christians to "to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ." So that "we are no longer...tossed here and there...by every wind of doctrine." They may be downloaded
and modified free of charge.
Matthew 10:8 …Freely you received, freely give.
5. Are You Stressed?
• Corrie Ten Boom once said, “If you look at the
world around us you'll be distressed, if you
look within your self you will be depressed,
• but if you look to Jesus you'll find rest.”
• NAU Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope
and the appearing of the glory of our great
God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
• Coming Savior, not Judge
5
6. Are You Stressed?
• I want to obey God’s Word and share some
some comforting rest with you about our
Coming Savior;
• NAU 1 Thessalonians 4:18 Therefore comfort
[verb imperative] one another with these words.
6
8. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
• NAU 1 Thessalonians 4:13 But we do not want you
to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are
asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest
who have no hope.
• 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
even so God will bring with Him those who have
fallen asleep in Jesus.
• 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord,
that we who are alive and remain until the coming
of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen
asleep.
9. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
• 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel and with the trumpet of God, and
the dead in Christ will rise first.
• 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be
caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall
always be with the Lord.
• 18 Therefore comfort one another with these
words.
10. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
• NAU 1 Thessalonians 4:13 But we do not want you to be
uninformed [ignorant, 50 ἀγνοέω agnoeo], brethren, about those
who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the
rest who have no hope.
• 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even
so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep
in Jesus. [in Jesus= close personal relationship]
• 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that
we who are alive and remain until the coming of the
Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
11. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
• NAU 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and
with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ [in Christ= close
personal relationship, 83/87 of uses are by Paul] will rise first.
• 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up [726,
ἁρπάζω harpazo, Meaning: to seize, catch up, snatch away] together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall
always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another
with these words.
• NAU John 14:3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you
may be also.
12. 1 Thessalonians 4:17
• NAU 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive
and remain will be caught up [to meet Him] together
with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the
air…
• At the “rapture”, we get caught up to meet the
Lord in the clouds. This is not the same as when
He will come and put His feet on planet Earth in
judgment. When He actually comes to the earth,
not just to the atmosphere. He will come to the
Mount of Olives;
13. Return To The Mount Of Olives
• NAU Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all the nations
against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be
captured, the houses plundered, the women
ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of
the people will not be cut off from the city. 3 Then
the LORD will go forth and fight against those
nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. 4 In
that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the
Mount of Olives will be split in its middle
14. Return To The Mount Of Olives
• from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of
the mountain will move toward the north and the other
half toward the south. 5 You will flee by the valley of My
mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to
Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the
earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the
LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!
6 In that day there will be no light; the luminaries will
dwindle. 7 For it will be a unique day which is known to
the LORD, neither day nor night, but it will come about
that at evening time there will be light.
15. His Return = Rescue Not Comfort
• NAU Zechariah 14:2…Jerusalem to battle, … houses
plundered, the women ravished and …city exiled…the
LORD will…fight…4 In that day His feet will stand on the
Mount of Olives…
• This is not the vs. 18, “comfort one another”
• NAU Revelation 6:16 …the wrath of the Lamb… 17 for the
great day of their wrath has come; and who is able to
stand?” …Rev 19:15 From His [Jesus’] mouth comes a sharp
sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations,
and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads
the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.
17. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
• NAU 1 Corinthians 15:50 Now I say this,
brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable
inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold, I tell you
a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all
be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling
of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet
will sound, and the dead will be raised
imperishable, and we will be changed.
18. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
• 53 For this perishable must put on the
imperishable, and this mortal must put on
immortality. 54 But when this perishable will
have put on the imperishable, and this mortal
will have put on immortality, then will come
about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS
SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55 "O DEATH,
WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?
19. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
• O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" 56 The
sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the
law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast,
immovable, always abounding in the work of
the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain
in the Lord.
20. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
• NAU 1 Corinthians 15:50 …flesh and blood
cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the
perishable inherit the imperishable.
• If you told that you were going to take a trip into
outer space, you would understand that you
must put on a spacesuit. If we are going to
heaven, in front of God, who is described as
unapproachable light, we must first put on
Christ. The sinless covering!
21. 1 Corinthians 15:52
• 1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment [<823> ἄτομος
atomos], in the twinkling [only use] of an eye, at the
last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the
dead will be raised [a resurrection] imperishable, and
we will be changed [to a glorified state, “like Him”].
• NAU 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of
God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will
be. We know that when He appears, we will be
like Him, because we will see Him just as He is [not
as He was].
22. 1 Thessalonians 4:16
• 1 Corinthians
15:52…the
trumpet will
sound, and the
dead will be raised
imperishable…
23. DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP?
• 1 Corinthians 15:54 …then will come about the
saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED
UP in victory.
• Warning! Warning! label,;

• "Harmful or fatal if swallowed."

30. Timing Of The Rapture?
• NAU Revelation 3:10 'Because you have kept the
word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from
[ἐκ, out of] the hour of testing, that hour which is
about to come upon the whole world, to test those
who dwell on the earth.
• Friberg, Analytical Greek Lexicon

place, after verbs of going, sending, escaping,
moving from, out of, away from (MK 7.31)…
31. Timing Of The Rapture?
• NAU Acts 15:14 "Simeon has related how God first concerned
Himself about taking from among the Gentiles a people for His
name. 15 "With this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is
written, 16 'AFTER THESE THINGS [church age] I will return, AND I
WILL REBUILD THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID WHICH HAS FALLEN,
AND I WILL REBUILD ITS RUINS, AND I WILL RESTORE IT, 17 SO
THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, AND ALL THE
GENTILES WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME,' 18 SAYS THE LORD,
WHO MAKES THESE THINGS KNOWN FROM LONG AGO.
• Amos 9:10 "All the sinners of My people will die by the sword,
Those who say, 'The calamity will not overtake or confront us.' 11
"In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David…
32. Timing Of The Rapture?
• NAU 2 Peter 2:7 and if He rescued righteous Lot,
oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled
men… 9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the
godly from temptation, and to keep the
unrighteous under punishment for the day of
judgment,
