"Official" Definition - a blog ("weblog") is ...
... a type of website containing regular entries of commentary,
description of events, or other material (videos/graphics).
Entries are usually displayed in reverse-chronological order.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular
subject; others function as more personal online diaries.
Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments
and potentially even message each other.
