needs
volunteers

wildlife

Pidwa
Wilderness
reserve
in
the
Limpopo
province
of
South
Africa.
Pidwa
aims
to
become
a
benchmark
wilderness
reserve
and
volunteers
become
hands
on
members
of
the
team
making
a
genuine
and
valuable
contribuBon
to
conservaBon.
Reserve
projects
vary
from
day
to
day
and
by
season
but
include
anB-‐poaching
patrols,
alien
plant
eradicaBon,

Daktari
is
to
educate
and
inspire
underprivileged
children
to
care
for
their
environment
through
the
medium
of
a
wildlife
orphanage.
Every
Monday
the
volunteers
welcome
a
new
group
of
8
to
10
local
underprivileged
children
for
a
week
and
give
them
the
opportunity
to
discover,
learn
and
become
passionate
about
wildlife,
conservaBon
and
their
heritage.
With
the
Daktari
Outreach
Programme
volunteers
visit
schools
on
a
weekly
basis
to
follow
up
the
educaBon
from
Daktari.
The
kids
discuss
&
learn
what
they
can
do
to
protect
and
improve
their
environment
and
country,
and
come
up
with
acBviBes
and
soluBons
to
the
problems
facing
them.

goal

to
enable
today’s
local
underprivileged

repBle

running

centre

programme

Reserve,
South
Africa
is
an
opportunity

experience
African
wildlife

a

safari

reserve
LEO
monitors

lodges,
when

volunteer
conservaBon
work
with

bush

Whipalong
Volunteer
Program
invites
volunteers
to
be
a
part
of
the
on-‐going
rehabilitaBon
and
re-‐schooling
of
abused
and
neglected
horses.
Volunteers
work
closely
with
Kate,
owner
of
Whipalong
in
the
various
aspects
of
equine
rehabilitaBon.
.
Regular
riding
is
a
part
of
the
program
irrespecBve
of
the
ability
of
the
rider.
Volunteers
may
receive
lessons
from
Kate
or
take
part
in
riding
trails
on
the
adjacent

Moholoholo
Game
Reserve.
Possible
sighBngs
may
include
white
rhino,
giraffe,
hippo,
warthog

several
antelope
species,

well
as
over

bird
species
Further
to
this,
volunteers'
responsibiliBes

of
young
horses
(depending

the
ability
