The Political Ideology That Best Represents My Views
The political ideology that best represents my views is liberalism. Liberalism is an ideology that
emphasizes, "cultural diversity, government programs for the needy, public intervention in the
economy, and individuals' rights to a lifestyle based on their own social and moral positions"
(Morone & Kersh, 2014, p. 37). In other words, liberalism promotes government assistance for
individuals in need as well as protect every individual's rights.
One aspect of my life that has shaped my political views is my religious background. I grew up in a
Baptist family, and used to go to church regularly. As I got older, I started going to church less and
less because the things my pastor said made me feel very uncomfortable. At the time, I did not
understand why I felt so uncomfortable and it was not until I got older that I realized why I felt the
way I did. Majority of the time, my pastor said things that had sexist and homophobic undertones.
Despite being in a holy place, I spent the duration of my time as a member of the church feeling
disconnected from everything, which eventually led to me breaking ties with the church completely.
My family's financial background also helped in shaping my views. When I was younger, my family
received financial assistance from the government in the form of CHIPs and food stamps. I was too
young to remember how food stamps benefited my family, but I do remember the many ways in
which CHIPs helped us out. For example, I grew up having terrible

American Framework of Political Ideology
Within the relatively narrow American framework of political ideology, which leaves little room for
left–wing diversity, I would be classified somewhere between a general liberal and a libertarian.
Many of my beliefs are libertarian, such as my firm conviction that drug prohibition has failed
miserably and is a dangerous policy to perpetuate. However, some of my core beliefs are more
socialist in nature, such as my strong conviction that Americans should not just have universal
access to K–12 education, but also to higher education and health care services. One could easily
say that I would be comfortable in a Northern European country, where it is possible to hold
socialist and libertarian values together. American left–wing ranter extraordinare and linguist Noam
Chomsky calls himself a libertarian socialist, a term I do not find entirely distasteful (Chomsky &
Otero, 2003. However, labels and tags never seem to work for describing the complexity of beliefs
that comprise an intelligent political ideology. Just as coloring inside the lines is anathema to the
creative spirit, forcing issue beliefs into the square holes of rigid political ideology is unhealthy and
damaging for the democratic process. Therefore, I will only say that I have sympathy for the
ideologies that are social liberalism, libertarianism, and socialism.
Libertarian socialism might seem like a strange and even contradictory ideology. It is sometimes
misunderstood. DeHavilland (2003) claims that it is

Liberalism And Conservatism Are An Abstract Political...
Liberalism and conservatism are an abstract political ideology that is formed from evolving list of
political attributes (Bruns & Gimpel, 2000). While it may be difficult to create a comprehensive
definition, Smith (1990) defined liberalism as individuals who are reformist, democratic, libertarian,
humanitarian, egalitarian, and permissive. Conservative attributes focus on, "small state, minimal
regulations, individual freedom and responsibility, patriotism, and strong law and order" (Dommett,
2015). When measuring trends in a variety of topics, Smith (1990) found that trends dealing with
individualism and equal rights were mostly associated with liberal views, while trends on the topic
of crime was mostly associated with conservatives. Bruns and Gimpel (2000) noted that Americans
identification as either liberal or conservative was not entirely due to political knowledge, instead,
their identification reflects the individual's actual feelings towards particular groups and topics. Such
findings (Smith, 1990; Bruns & Gimpel, 2000; Dommett, 2015) on the topic of crime and
individualism have recently been the subjects of debate throughout the presidential election. On
June 16, 2015, Donald Trump began his Republican National Committee (GOP) presidential
campaign with a speech labeling Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals. Throughout the rest
of his successful campaign, now president–elected, Trump continued to use such rhetoric towards
Hispanics as one of the leading

Political Ideologies And The Basic Philosophy Of A Community
Any social and political system that is established in any nation is designed on the fundamental
principles of their existence, which define their cultures, their needs, their demands and the concept
of their living. From this we can deduce that a kind of charter comprising of the values, ideas,
thoughts, principles and the ethical boundaries of a society, that works for the construction of a
social embodiment of a country and graphs out certain templates of actions to be followed is known
as a political ideology. Political ideologies help in the enhancements of the basic philosophy of a
community. It enables the analysis of the definition of their existence and gives them a medium to
work upon their planning of developments. Social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It covers up the rights of females of all ages and supports them in the demand of equality in social,
cultural, educational, political, economic, recreational, administrative and domestic systems.
Feminism actually began in the late 19th century when the concept behind this ideology was entirely
different to what it is perceived today. Feminism was composed to bring about justice to the
underprivileged members of the society, irrespective of their caste, color, race or gender. Feminism
catered to audiences who were discarded from the civil setup because they lacked the normal
atonement to the living standards brought about by the trend setters. Feminism aimed at highlighting
the plight of such individuals, by helping people to acknowledge them and their equal stand in
living. However, they were criticized in multitudes. Quite often, the deprived groups of individual
finding refuge with such comforting agents were mostly the female classes of our society.
It should be noticed that these revolutions erupted in the western world, where transgression of
women was at its peak and the female counterparts were often victimized to be treated as highly
dejected human beings. Women laborers were paid wages that were not even a quadrant of the
amount paid to their fellow male workers, they was no law against sexual and physical abuse against
young girls. This kind of a scenario turned

My New Political Ideology Essay
A population's views on political issues may change as different circumstances occur each day. The
environment around us has a powerful influence on the decisions that we produce and the views that
we as American citizens choose to hold. After a semester in political science class my views and my
political ideology have altered. Today I will explain how political science class has influenced my
political ideology.
When this class initially began I was sure, without a doubt I was a conservative. As the semester
progressed I discovered the reasons I was considered conservative. The town a person grows up in,

Cal–trans provides a wonderful freeway system for southern Californians to get as far as Los
Angeles and back in time for dinner. Without such wonderful freeway systems and highway
systems, the economy of California would most likely not be as good as it is right now.
Unfortunately I still feel the American people are not ready to vote for the taxes we all pay. The
government is doing a descent job with our taxes; however with changes in the social programs the
American peoples taxes can be considerably lowered.
As a conservative, I still feel that the social class of the individual greatly affects the political
ideology that they have chosen. I have analyzed, that the education of the individual has a great deal
of affect on the political party of their choice. Most liberals are only against conservatives due to
medias bad review of conservatives. The media can affect our lives tremendously if we believe what
they have to say. Education is the key to determining the political party or political ideology of our
choice; therefore education is one of the leading issues many Americans feel strongly about today.
As I stated in my last paper, schooling is very important to the success of our country. Although

Dif-Ferent Political Ideologies
What are you watching, dad?" I incessantly asked my father. "Shhh, dear, it's politics, too com–plex
for your age." I shrugged, for it certainly wasn't. Despite being at the unripe age of fourteen, there
was nothing I enjoyed more than sitting on that beige couch every evening at 8:00 pm and watching
my favorite show–the news! Whether it is the profound reality I engulf myself in while inquiring
about politics or the global correlation it harnesses in me, I do not bother questioning my passion.
All I know is that I am a political entrepreneur who is perceptive and interrelated to the world! What
fascinates me the most about this subject matter is how every individual has a unique standpoint,

I am sure there is no greater pursuit than that of equal voice, to be heard. Democra–cy marries the
people and the government to coincide and cooperate, to make the country equal and free. "It is
rumored that a Chinese student at the 1989 Tiananmen Square democracy rally held a poster that
read, 'I don't know what democracy means, but I know we need more of it.' In fact, democracy is a
concept with a variety of potential meanings, and it is not simple to grasp or define."(Dalton, Shin
and Jou, 143) In a democracy, the government is the spokesperson for the people and the needs they
would like to be met. The government is a group of people in the state who have the ultimate
authority to act on behalf of that state. A democracy is a state in which citizens vote to choose the
best candidate. Democracy requires an attitude of mind, a be–lief that every citizen has the right to a
hearing, a sense that no doors are closed to talent and en–ergy. Democracy is a political system for
choosing a government through free and fair elections; it is the active participation of the people, as
citizens, in politics and civic life. Moreover, democ–racy focuses on the protection of human rights
of all citizens and laws that are equally applied to all

Political Socialization: My Political Ideology: Conservatism
Political socialization is the process by which we develop our political values and opinions
throughout our lives (American Democracy,10). A major influence in my political life is my parents,
growing up, my parents were never involved in politics, nor did they care to instill the basics of
politics in me, but one major aspect, that my parents did emphasize was tradition. My parents have
instilled, the belief that history repeats itself, and by sticking to tradition, there will never be an
unexpected circumstance or complication, we have not handled and overcame before. Therefore, as
I continue to learn about politics, others sets of beliefs, and how they differ from my own, I have

My Political Ideology takes me back to when Abraham Lincoln was president. Abraham Lincoln
abolished slavery, and was for moderate amounts of change and believed in equality, tradition,
decency, and morality. Abraham Lincoln slowly introduced the idea of freeing slaves, he did not
enforce the law on citizens, but eased them in, and persuaded others into thinking slavery was
immoral. Therefore, I believe immigrants from foreign countries should be accepted and embraced.
It is unethical to deny immigrants who have been native in our country for years, the right to be a
citizen. Religion is also an uprising issue in government, religion has been around for ages, and
disputes about religion will continue to emerge. A major concern is, should religion be present
within politics. Well my question is why should it not? Our founding fathers used religion to help
build our Constitution, and Unalienable Rights. Why all of a sudden should religion be eliminated
from government, if when The United States was first founded they believed everyone to be equal in
the eyes of God. This Ideology has opened my eyes to old traditions in government, and has helped
me realize that our political background is important in the role of government

Political Ideologies And Social Methods
Stalinism has been used to describe a variety of political ideologies and social methods, but often is
associated with dictatorial or totalitarian control of the state by a leader, or a small leadership group.
Through a totalitarian approach Stalin controlled all aspects of life in Russia. He controlled the
output of artists, musicians, and ideas in general, collectivized the economy so it was state
controlled, created a persona of himself and used the Great Terror as a way to ensure he would have
no opposition. This is how Stalin remodeled the Soviet State successfully into a stronger nation, in
his eyes, where the stats influenced all aspects of the economy, society and politics. He issued five
year plans and created the Great Break, which abandoned the NEP and started the collectivization
and industrialization. He also incorporated command economy which is a pillar for Stalinism. Stalin
controlled the economy and politics, which intertwined closely, with an iron fist using the
totalitarian and dictatorial ideology, but he was able to succeed with his control of power by world
events, timing, and power. The task of this paper is to explain why Stalinism was so successful and
why it lasted as long as it did. Stalin started to come to real power after the October Revolution and
started to have influence in Russia. Once the Bolsheviks had seized power Stalin was promoted to
General Secretary of the Party. Lenin (the leader of the Bolsheviks) was very concerned with the

not repeat my Social Theory course. This paper just talks mainly about the political ideology which I
think is closest to my own political beliefs. Maybe, yours are now different from mine. After all, 32

In the long run, if the Way is truly the best way, the difference between those who follow the way
and those who do not will be very clear. Then the wise ones will follow the way, since the proof that
the Way is the best way is now clear." This was what I was thinking, and now you are here, reading
about Liberalism being my most favored ideology. With this solution that Liberalism brings,
however, there are some areas that I do not quite agree with. One of these is the concept of
utilitarianism, which believes that humans mainly gain happiness from consuming material goods
and services. I rather believe that the ability to enjoy these goods and services is a by–product of
having other immaterial things, such as family, peace and good health. What do you think about
this? After all, if anyone should know whether having all you want and need brings real satisfaction,
it should be you, with all your material wealth.
In terms of human nature, Liberals believe that the nature of a person is innate, which is barely
affected by society or history. We believe that human beings are self–reliant creatures and are
capable of personal development, especially if they have education (Heywood, 2012). All I am
saying in this plenty English is that, when a liberal sees a human being, he or she sees a reasonable

Describe Political Ideology
9. Describe Political ideology and how it differs depending on the type of government
A political ideology mainly has to do with how to allocate power and to what ends it should be used.
Usually all ideology includes certain ideas on what it considers to be the best form of government
and the unsurpassed lucrative system, for example, capitalism, conservatism, socialism, etc. The
people of a certain culture determine the type of elections to be held due to the type of political
ideology and their type of government. Political ideologies have two promotions which are how
society should operate or be well thought–out and the most suitable way to attain this goal.
Political ideology plays a significant and vital role in all nations because power ... Show more

In addition to that everyone who is eligible to vote has a chance to have their say on who should run
the country. The best suited political ideologies for this type of government are conservatism and
liberalism because most democratic governments are a mixture of both or between the two.
Conservative Ideology, for instance, the government should avoid meddling in the lives of its people
with the least probability. With conservatism, it is with belief the responsibility of the people
belongs to the people and they believe in self–government. The customs of these citizens tend to
reject and deny change because change is deemed negative to societies as the citizens are mainly
pessimistic about matters.
Alternatively, Liberalists deem that the government should be heavily caught up in their lives. In the
liberalism ideology the society of that country pressure the government for reforms that positively
bring changes to the societies, being that a society like this embraces diversity and are optimistic
about the world and the future and have a lot of faith in their governments. The imperfections in
such societies are handled by the

Ensuring that every citizen has access to an affordable education system; to water and food and a
safe place to sleep. But because this system is still very new, and with limited amounts of money
available the development takes its time. So in summery a welfare state is a "concept of government
in which the state plays a key role in the protection and promotion of the economic and social well–
being of its citizens. It is based on the principles of equality of opportunity, equitable distribution of
wealth, and public responsibility for those unable to avail themselves of the minimal provisions for a

values and mission statements.

Another (from my point of view) big part in our current government system plays communism.

ideology. It will then specifically take under consideration the belief that the society could survive
without the state which is seen as an evil. In conclusion, it will discuss how the absence of

Anarchism derives by anarchy which means no rules. It's a philosophy that has is the centre humans.

Their creativity is restricted by force–based societies. Humans are social animals who prefer to work
together for the common good rather than for individual interests and wise enough to rule
themselves, they don't need any superior authority when thanks to the humanity are together.
Solidarity is the first human law, freedom the second. Humans can shape their own lives without
being influenced by others. All people are good, innocent, rational. They have been guide in the
wrong way by the authority and by institutions. The state is the reason why crimes happen. The
more people are good and not aggressive, the more successfully the social system will work. No
social system can be successful if people are not peaceful. Anarchists think that with the abolition of
the state a new anarchist man will grew, an energic, cooperative, humane and benevolent one. The
state is considered as the plague of the society. Anarchism tend to maximalize the opportunities for
the good and minimalize the ones for the bad
(M.N. Rothbard,2006).
This essay will now take under consideration the belief that the state is unnecessary for the survival
of the society. Anarchism believe that governments shouldn't rule the society, they believe in a
stateless society.
Two are the main examples of a society without rulers; one is the primitive society and the second
one is the society with subcultures which want to make their own rules and they are trying to

Ideology
Note: these are 'generalizations' and are not 'all inclusive'...
An ideology is a collection of ideas, typically containing ideas on what it considers to be the best
form of government (democracy, theocracy, etc), & the best economic system (capitalism, socialism,
etc). Sometimes the same word is used to identify both an ideology & one of its main ideas, e.g.,
"socialism" may refer to an economic system, or to an ideology which supports that economic
system.
– Political ideologies generally have two dimensions: Goals: (how society should work or be

control or interference, however, they routinely favor government support & funding for highways,

– generally 'traditionalists', for political 'status quo' & view change suspiciously
– generally favor stiff criminal penalties (strong law & order), emphasize 'traditional' moral &

government power should be used to protect the disadvantaged, individuals, the masses

Political Ideologies Analysis Report

In this following report, the fascism ideology will be examined and applied to a Canadian political
party and to three current political issues.
A – Introductions (Background and Definition)
Fascism is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism that came to prominence in early 20th century,
influenced by national syndicalism. Its movement is based on nationalism and militaries, combining
more typically right–wing positions with elements of left–wing politics. Also, it emphasizes the
importance of the state and individual's overriding duty to it. Fascism opposes to liberalism and
communism and it seeks to regenerate social, cultural and economic life, by installing strong
national identity and complete loyalty to the state and the leader. Secret police and propaganda were
used to manipulate the citizens and the suppress opposition. Fascism started out of political, social
and economic destruction after the First World War – WWI (1914–1918) and the Russian
Revolution (1917), reaching its peek between 1922 and 1939. Fascism officially started in Italy by
Benito Mussolini, who controlled Italy between 1922 and 1945. Mussolini started his political party
after being expelled from the Socialist party in 1915 and fighting in WWI. During WWI, Mussolini
got injured which forced him to return to Italy, after his return, he started a new political party, the
Fascist party. Fascist party was named after "fasces" – an ancient Roman

I Am A Liberal Conservative Is More Open Minded Than Some...
I am a Liberal. A Liberal is more open minded than some other political ideologies. They believe we
should all be equal and have the same opportunities in life. The government should help us so we
can all be financially stable. Things like health care and food stamps are important because the
government should help all of us, if we cannot do that for ourselves. Although liberals want help
from the government they don't believe they should control what we do in our personal lives. They
are very big advocators for women's rights for this reason. Focusing on actual government, a big
belief is that federal government should have more say over citizens instead of letting state
government have control over what we do. Along with having laws they believe more laws will help
us. It is a way to keep people in line and provide equal opportunity for everyone. I identify as a
liberal but I don't hold all the same beliefs as the typical liberals. I come from a big Hispanic
Catholic family; I am one of five children. Growing up I would stay with my grandmother most

Political Ideals And Ideology : Take Home Test 1
Korede Kazeem 7707916 Political ideals and ideology Take home test 1 Do we have a political
obligation to obey the law? We have a political obligation to obey the law in our society , this belief
is backed up by the justifications of fairness, consent, utilitarianism, and morality, but the most
compelling arguments found for the justification of why we should obey the law are consent,
fairness and morality, Utilitarianism. Although there are many justifications for why we should obey
the law but these concepts are the strongest justifications in my opinion. Consent: This justification
often referred to as consent theory or contract theory claims that we should obey the law because we
have consented to it (p.11) The consent theory describes that our obligation to obey the law is
because of a voluntary pledge on our part. If we have given consent to our society to implement
these laws for us or if we have given the consent to these laws themselves, there should be no reason
for us not to have a political obligation to obey the law. The consent given to these laws may not be
explicit, expressive or put in writing but the theory explains that tacit or passive consent is another
form of voluntary pledge given to obey these laws. Passive or tacit consent is can be given through

Two Major Political Ideologies Today
Two Major Political Ideologies Today Republicans and Democrats have been the two main political
parties who have battled for control of political positions in the United States since the mid 1850's.
While Republican's and Democrat's political ideologies have changed throughout their history, since
the late 1960's their parties coalition has relatively stayed the same. In this essay I will briefly
summarize these political ideologies that define the Democratic and Republican parties today,
before discussing some of the similarities between the two, and then closing with who I agree with
more and why I will continue to vote for that party. In general Republican's governing philosophy is
one of conservatism. Republicans believe in the philosophy of very little government interference in
economic issues, but lots of government intervention in social issues. Republicans vote for laws and
regulations that put restrictions on such issues as homosexual marriage and abortion. As for
economic issues, republicans tend to advocate in favor of a more laissez–faire economic philosophy
or supply side economics. (Bartels) Meaning, Republicans believe in allowing big business and
corporations do what they must do with little government interference. They also believe in reducing
income taxes and government funding of welfare programs in order to grow the economy from the
top down. (Bartels) To summarize, Republicans say lower taxes equals higher gross domestic

Taking a Look at Political Ideologies
It's an understatement to say our ideology shapes the way we live our lives every day. It affects the
way we view and react to different people. Ideology is a set of beliefs that affects our outlook on the
entire world. Most of the time ideology refers to a set of political beliefs or a set of ideas that relate
to religious views. In a simpler meaning, ideology means having a views or opinions based on your
ideas of that thing.
The Republican ideology today is based on conservatism. They believe in free market economy and
the government's job is to provide for its citizens with military protection. A conservative is
someone who values the heritage that comes from the past. They believe in classical principles and
tend to be more self–righteous. Conservative Republicans believe in tradition, less regulation and
free enterprise. They believe in their rights and are hard working. This is the belief that you get what
you work for but the government still helps the ones in need.
Democrats think it is the responsibility of the government to care for all individuals. Democrats are
weak compared to the rest of the political ideologies. They believe the government knows what is
best for the citizens. A Democratic liberal is where democracy uses the principles of liberalism. This
includes social and economic equality. Liberals want the government to help with the lower class

beliefs range from liberal to conservative. Overall, I consider myself a moderate, which is in

After taking all the quizzes, this was proven true. According to the Best Political Quiz, I am right in

there are people that will argue that school should not be mandatory if the family must send there

Assess The Role Of Government In Political Ideology
When it comes to political ideology, liberalism is most consistent with my personal beliefs. Liberals
have a high regard for individuals living freely, being happy, and making personal choices without
the government involvement (Ruth, 2016). A large believe of liberal is that government should exist
for judicial, military, and protection of people. Government should be smaller in some ways and too
much political power can cause greater harm than good (Murphy, 2016). Government plays a
significant role in everyday life beyond judicial system control. Some of the involvement is good,
others not so much. The greatest ethical motivator for having primary liberal views is the belief in
autonomy. Autonomy is the right to self–determine. The

The Political Side Of Ideology
Ideology is "a set of opinions or beliefs of a group or individual. Very often ideology refers to a set
of political beliefs or a set of ideas that characterize a particular culture." What will be discussed is
the political side of Ideology(or better known as Political Ideology), which is a very controversial
"hot–topic" issue, that is always being discussed in any setting. In the United States, there are two
main sides, the Democrats and the Republicans. Democrats are "a member of the Democratic Party
or someone who believes in equality for all people and ruling by the majority." A Republican is "an
advocate of a republic" which is "where you live in a country with a leader who was freely and

This statement from the Democratic parts is a very strong one and appeals to many Americans, it
states "We are committed to doing everything we can to build a full employment economy, where
everyone has a job that pays enough to raise a family and live in dignity with a sense of purpose"
(Democrats). This is a very strong statement from the platform because they say that they want to
see everyone succeeding and feeling that they have a purpose in their life. The Democrats have also
stated "that our economy should strengthen our country and work for every American, not just those

spurring job creation, rebuilding our infrastructure, investing in clean–energy technologies and small
businesses, and making sure corporations, the wealthy, and Wall Street pay their fair share"

manner. The Democrats also believe that people of wealth and big businesses should have to pay
more in things like taxes, because they have a lot more money. Democrats want to cut taxes for the
American people and help people get jobs that are not able to. America is still struggling to come

Political Ideologies Are The Best Way Of Governing A Country
Introduction:
Political ideologies are the beliefs, morals and ethics held on what is the optimum way of governing
a country (Jost, Federico, & Napier, 2009). They have long guided the elected governments
behaviour, particularly in effect to Social Policy decisions; determining what policy initiatives will
be elected and what is the best way of implementing such policies. New Zealand has had various
political ideologies brought in by different governments; such as Social Democracy, Social
Liberalism, Neo liberalism, Neo Conservatism and Conservatism. For the basis of this Essay, the
focus will be on two of the most significant influences; Social Democracy and Conservatism. Both
ideologies have had period 's of dominance in New Zealand 's Social policy history where they have
impacted the general functioning of society. Their view of the state, and general morals have been
strongly reflected in the policy initiatives there exponents have brought in. For Social Democracy, it
being the 1938 Social Security Act and the various implementations of Keynesian Economic
Management in the 1940s and 1980s; and for Conservatism, the Pensions for miners and returned
servicemen, and the introduction of private prisons. The both having considerable impact not only
on New Zealand society but the development of more progressive forms of political ideology. It will
be argued that the resulting policies from the Social Democracy and Conservatism ideologies most
notable influence is

It has been nearly five decades since the first President Ngo Dinh Diem, the founder of the Republic
of Vietnam was assassinated in a military coup. Vietnamese history on its media in general and its
education in particular are still unclear about the data, events related to this president who had the
logical policy line, great political ideology of the South Vietnam and his people at that time. The
remained images of Ngo Dinh Diem in new Vietnamese generations' thoughts are just "Ngo Dinh
Diem was regarded as a puppet of the United States, tied in a phrase meaning sarcastic and offended

Does Education Level Determine Political Ideology
Liberalism is defined by the Merriam–Webster Dictionary as a "political philosophy based on belief
in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and
standing for the protection of political and civil liberties". Liberalists believe that the government is
an important instrument in the advancement of social inequalities including disparities affecting
gender, race, and class. Conservatism is defined as "a political philosophy based on tradition and
social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt
change". Conservatives believe in progress through limited government regulation and individual
responsibility for personal needs and individual finance (such as retirement income or health–care
coverage). They generally desire lower taxes and a powerful national defense system.
The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the results from 2009 to 2016 from the surveys
done by the computer skills class at the University of Akron during those years regarding the
question "Does Education Level Determine Political Ideology?". This data will take into account the

liberal opinions, this may be because, with more formal schooling, individuals are able to discover

"general abstract principles like the liberal–conservative continuum" to specific events or situations.
The absence of this formal schooling may indicate a rather impassable mental condition that "serves

Needless to say the people were not happy and it helped lead to the Germany people wanting
changes.
When Adolph Hitler came into power he brought with him his Nazi party and their ideas which
align with Fascism. Fascist believes fascism is a "third Way" in economic policy. It is superior to
uncontrolled capitalism that only benefits the few rich who hold the capital. It is also suppose to be
superior to state controlled communism. This will also be looked at in greater detail in the fascism
section of the paper.
Fascism
Fascism has an underlying, Darwinist outlook, that nations, races and people, are constantly in a
struggle where it is survival of the fittest and the strong survive by conflicting with the weak. This
argues that the only way for a nation to be successful is to weed out the weak (sick, poor, Jewish,
etc.) that pull down on the nation while simultaneously promoting the strong. The problem with
mixing biological theories (Darwinism) and political theories (Fascism) is just that, they are two
different areas and need different considerations.
There are no set positions, left, right, center, for the general idea of Fascism. Neither is there a set of
rules which it is comprised of. It is safe to say there is no one definition that is all inclusive because
Fascism can be very different depending on how it is employed. It is debated in many different
opinions of what it represents. With that said, since there is no one all inclusive

Centrist is a person who favors selective political involvement and practical solutions to modern
problems. A Centrist tends to keep an open mind on new issues and prefers capitalism to work out
economic problems if at all possible. Although I was a centrist I was on the boarder line of being a
right wing conservative who would like to see a capitalistic society and little government

conservative side. I apparently also would like to see order in society instead of equality. These two
tests showed similar results in that both said I was more closely related to a conservative than a

What makes a leader? What makes an extraordinary leader? As with everything else in life, the

because it both exaggerated its findings and stated simply facts in its political stories. Factual detail
appeared evident when it covered stories about how Trump's travel ban was blocked, Trump

covered stories about other politicians calling Trump "bizarre," politicians criticizing another over

An ideology as defined by Merriam–Webster is "a systematic body of concepts especially about
human life or culture." This specifically does not relate to politics, but when applied it means a body
of concepts that define a country's goals and views of citizenry. All ideologies; religion,
communism, socialism, and liberalism have varying traits and goals led by their governments. An
example of these differences is that communism values equality while liberalism values freedom.

increased, Income Assistance rates have remained stagnant. The current social welfare policies
adopted by the Canadian Government in general and the provincial Government of British

Canada's acceptance of the welfare state was brief however, and the economic downturn of the
1970's, as well as right–wing campaigns calling for an end to social programs saw massive cuts to
the social safety net so many Canadians depended on (p.46). It was believed that to combat
economic stagnation and see a return to profits, many social programs must be eliminated. During
the 1980's and 1990's government spending on social programs was drastically reduced, effectively
dismantling much of the welfare state (another book).
Furthermore, 1996 saw the end of the Canada Assistance Plan (CAP) (p.49) that was established in
1966 and helped to standardize and fund nationwide Social Assistance (p.46). This program was a
consolidation of federal and provincial programs, with financial responsibility shared 50/50 between
federal and provincial governments and among many things, saw that anyone determined to be in
need would receive funding without a work requirement imposed to receive assistance (another
book p.113). CAP and Established Programs Financing (EPF) were combined into the Canadian

The main thrust of the theory is that everyone was to work to their abilities, and everyone would
receive to their needs. The linchpin of this theory, however; was that it must occur in an already well
industrialized nation. Leninism/Stalinism takes the Marxist model and adjusts it slightly to take a
non–industrialized nation into modernity while simultaneously creating the "workers eutopia" Lenin
and Stalin did this mainly by force but Lenin also achieved this by using a quasi–capitalism called
"The new economic policy". Classic liberalism/Capitalism finds its roots with the age of
enlightenment and the emergence of the United States of America. The economic driving force
behind Classic liberalism is capitalism. The idea that economies grow and nations become powerful
with minimal government involvement. Central to this theme is the idea of free trade between
private parties. Classic liberalism relies also heavily individual rights and freedoms, an individual
free to live as they please with minimal government involvement. Progressivism/Socialism is an
attempt to lightly combine the idea's of Marxism and classic liberalism. With heavy reliance on
government regulation the idea is to manage a capitalist economy in order to evenly distribute goods

7 of these states have laws that effectively require the woman make two separate trips to the clinic to
obtain the procedure. Parents should be involved in such a decision like this so 36 states require
some type of parental involvement in a minor's decision to have an abortion. 22 states require one or
both parents to consent to the procedure, while 12 require that one or both parents be notified and 4
states require both parental consent and notification. Many people believe that restrictive abortion
laws may worsen family communication rather than promote it. Abortion providers encourage
teenagers to tell a parent or another important family member about their plans, and most teens do.
Even without state laws, one or both parents of 61% of minors know about their daughters'

situation. Those young women who do not or cannot tell their parents, however, often have
important reasons such as a family history of alcoholism, emotional or physical abuse, or incest. To
involve such parents could invite further abuse of the teenager and other family members. Rather
than tell their parents – for whatever reason – some teenagers resort to unsafe, illegal abortions or
try to perform the abortion themselves. In doing so, they risk serious injury and death or, in some
cases, criminal charges. Another concern is that restrictive laws endanger teens' health by

Differing Perspectives of Liberalism Liberalism is characterized by a commitment to individual
rights, toleration, limited government, equal opportunity, and a commitment to free market. There
are different forms of liberalism that one may identify with, such as classical liberalism, neo–

According to Terence Ball in Ideals and Ideologies, "Liberals see themselves as champions of
individual liberty who work to create or preserve an open and tolerant society– a society whose
members are free to pursue their own ideas and interests with as little interference as possible" (65).
Some of the most important ideologists, such as Immanuel Kant, Thomas Paine, John Locke, and
Thomas Hobbes are considered liberalists, as they too believed in eliminated injustices. According
to Dr Edwin van de Haar, who specializes in the liberal tradition, there are three different
approaches that these liberalists take to the involvement of the state when analyzing liberalist
liberty, which include: the state should be completely hands off, the state should have limited
involvement, or the state should have a fairly large involvement (The Meaning of Liberalism, 2015).
While believers of negative liberty feel that there should be a freedom from the interference of the
government, on the other hand supporters of positive liberty believe that liberty is the freedom to
fully enjoy one's rights and available opportunities through necessary resources. One main
difference between the negative and positive view of liberty is that positive liberty usually requires
more support from the government. As stated by Ball, in Thomas Paines' Common Sense, he
supported this aspiration for limited government when he wrote "Society in every state is a blessing,

After the depression hit America in 1929, it instantly affected the entire world trade. It directly
affected the way the League of Nations (LoN) dealt with issues occurring between countries. An
example of this was, many countries in the LoN were sceptical of using economic sanctions. This
was because that would affect their own countries as they would be able to trade. The biggest
example of where this was crucial was when Italy invaded Abyssinia under Mussolini's reign. The
LoN were open to economic and trading sanctions from being placed on Italy, however France and
Britain were not willing to go with it and made a secret pact with Italy saying that they would not

The Political Ideology That Best Represents My Views

  • 1. The Political Ideology That Best Represents My Views The political ideology that best represents my views is liberalism. Liberalism is an ideology that emphasizes, "cultural diversity, government programs for the needy, public intervention in the economy, and individuals' rights to a lifestyle based on their own social and moral positions" (Morone & Kersh, 2014, p. 37). In other words, liberalism promotes government assistance for individuals in need as well as protect every individual's rights. One aspect of my life that has shaped my political views is my religious background. I grew up in a Baptist family, and used to go to church regularly. As I got older, I started going to church less and less because the things my pastor said made me feel very uncomfortable. At the time, I did not understand why I felt so uncomfortable and it was not until I got older that I realized why I felt the way I did. Majority of the time, my pastor said things that had sexist and homophobic undertones. Despite being in a holy place, I spent the duration of my time as a member of the church feeling disconnected from everything, which eventually led to me breaking ties with the church completely. My family's financial background also helped in shaping my views. When I was younger, my family received financial assistance from the government in the form of CHIPs and food stamps. I was too young to remember how food stamps benefited my family, but I do remember the many ways in which CHIPs helped us out. For example, I grew up having terrible ... • 3. American Framework of Political Ideology Within the relatively narrow American framework of political ideology, which leaves little room for left–wing diversity, I would be classified somewhere between a general liberal and a libertarian. Many of my beliefs are libertarian, such as my firm conviction that drug prohibition has failed miserably and is a dangerous policy to perpetuate. However, some of my core beliefs are more socialist in nature, such as my strong conviction that Americans should not just have universal access to K–12 education, but also to higher education and health care services. One could easily say that I would be comfortable in a Northern European country, where it is possible to hold socialist and libertarian values together. American left–wing ranter extraordinare and linguist Noam Chomsky calls himself a libertarian socialist, a term I do not find entirely distasteful (Chomsky & Otero, 2003. However, labels and tags never seem to work for describing the complexity of beliefs that comprise an intelligent political ideology. Just as coloring inside the lines is anathema to the creative spirit, forcing issue beliefs into the square holes of rigid political ideology is unhealthy and damaging for the democratic process. Therefore, I will only say that I have sympathy for the ideologies that are social liberalism, libertarianism, and socialism. Libertarian socialism might seem like a strange and even contradictory ideology. It is sometimes misunderstood. DeHavilland (2003) claims that it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Liberalism And Conservatism Are An Abstract Political... Liberalism and conservatism are an abstract political ideology that is formed from evolving list of political attributes (Bruns & Gimpel, 2000). While it may be difficult to create a comprehensive definition, Smith (1990) defined liberalism as individuals who are reformist, democratic, libertarian, humanitarian, egalitarian, and permissive. Conservative attributes focus on, "small state, minimal regulations, individual freedom and responsibility, patriotism, and strong law and order" (Dommett, 2015). When measuring trends in a variety of topics, Smith (1990) found that trends dealing with individualism and equal rights were mostly associated with liberal views, while trends on the topic of crime was mostly associated with conservatives. Bruns and Gimpel (2000) noted that Americans identification as either liberal or conservative was not entirely due to political knowledge, instead, their identification reflects the individual's actual feelings towards particular groups and topics. Such findings (Smith, 1990; Bruns & Gimpel, 2000; Dommett, 2015) on the topic of crime and individualism have recently been the subjects of debate throughout the presidential election. On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump began his Republican National Committee (GOP) presidential campaign with a speech labeling Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals. Throughout the rest of his successful campaign, now president–elected, Trump continued to use such rhetoric towards Hispanics as one of the leading ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Political Ideologies And The Basic Philosophy Of A Community Any social and political system that is established in any nation is designed on the fundamental principles of their existence, which define their cultures, their needs, their demands and the concept of their living. From this we can deduce that a kind of charter comprising of the values, ideas, thoughts, principles and the ethical boundaries of a society, that works for the construction of a social embodiment of a country and graphs out certain templates of actions to be followed is known as a political ideology. Political ideologies help in the enhancements of the basic philosophy of a community. It covers up the rights of females of all ages and supports them in the demand of equality in social, cultural, educational, political, economic, recreational, administrative and domestic systems. Feminism actually began in the late 19th century when the concept behind this ideology was entirely different to what it is perceived today. Feminism was composed to bring about justice to the underprivileged members of the society, irrespective of their caste, color, race or gender. Feminism catered to audiences who were discarded from the civil setup because they lacked the normal atonement to the living standards brought about by the trend setters. Feminism aimed at highlighting the plight of such individuals, by helping people to acknowledge them and their equal stand in living. However, they were criticized in multitudes. Quite often, the deprived groups of individual finding refuge with such comforting agents were mostly the female classes of our society. It should be noticed that these revolutions erupted in the western world, where transgression of women was at its peak and the female counterparts were often victimized to be treated as highly dejected human beings. Women laborers were paid wages that were not even a quadrant of the amount paid to their fellow male workers, they was no law against sexual and physical abuse against young girls. • 9. My New Political Ideology Essay A population's views on political issues may change as different circumstances occur each day. The environment around us has a powerful influence on the decisions that we produce and the views that we as American citizens choose to hold. After a semester in political science class my views and my political ideology have altered. Today I will explain how political science class has influenced my political ideology. When this class initially began I was sure, without a doubt I was a conservative. As the semester progressed I discovered the reasons I was considered conservative. The town a person grows up in, financial status, social class, age, gender and the race of the individual have a strong influence on a individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cal–trans provides a wonderful freeway system for southern Californians to get as far as Los Angeles and back in time for dinner. Without such wonderful freeway systems and highway systems, the economy of California would most likely not be as good as it is right now. Unfortunately I still feel the American people are not ready to vote for the taxes we all pay. The government is doing a descent job with our taxes; however with changes in the social programs the American peoples taxes can be considerably lowered. As a conservative, I still feel that the social class of the individual greatly affects the political ideology that they have chosen. I have analyzed, that the education of the individual has a great deal of affect on the political party of their choice. Most liberals are only against conservatives due to medias bad review of conservatives. The media can affect our lives tremendously if we believe what they have to say. Education is the key to determining the political party or political ideology of our choice; therefore education is one of the leading issues many Americans feel strongly about today. As I stated in my last paper, schooling is very important to the success of our country. • 11. Dif-Ferent Political Ideologies What are you watching, dad?" I incessantly asked my father. "Shhh, dear, it's politics, too com–plex for your age." I shrugged, for it certainly wasn't. Despite being at the unripe age of fourteen, there was nothing I enjoyed more than sitting on that beige couch every evening at 8:00 pm and watching my favorite show–the news! Whether it is the profound reality I engulf myself in while inquiring about politics or the global correlation it harnesses in me, I do not bother questioning my passion. All I know is that I am a political entrepreneur who is perceptive and interrelated to the world! What fascinates me the most about this subject matter is how every individual has a unique standpoint, one that is so skillfully invulnerable that it seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am sure there is no greater pursuit than that of equal voice, to be heard. Democra–cy marries the people and the government to coincide and cooperate, to make the country equal and free. "It is rumored that a Chinese student at the 1989 Tiananmen Square democracy rally held a poster that read, 'I don't know what democracy means, but I know we need more of it.' In fact, democracy is a concept with a variety of potential meanings, and it is not simple to grasp or define."(Dalton, Shin and Jou, 143) In a democracy, the government is the spokesperson for the people and the needs they would like to be met. The government is a group of people in the state who have the ultimate authority to act on behalf of that state. A democracy is a state in which citizens vote to choose the best candidate. Democracy requires an attitude of mind, a be–lief that every citizen has the right to a hearing, a sense that no doors are closed to talent and en–ergy. Democracy is a political system for choosing a government through free and fair elections; it is the active participation of the people, as citizens, in politics and civic life. • 13. Political Socialization: My Political Ideology: Conservatism Political socialization is the process by which we develop our political values and opinions throughout our lives (American Democracy,10). A major influence in my political life is my parents, growing up, my parents were never involved in politics, nor did they care to instill the basics of politics in me, but one major aspect, that my parents did emphasize was tradition. My parents have instilled, the belief that history repeats itself, and by sticking to tradition, there will never be an unexpected circumstance or complication, we have not handled and overcame before. Therefore, as I continue to learn about politics, others sets of beliefs, and how they differ from my own, I have come to the conclusion that Conservatism is the best Ideology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My Political Ideology takes me back to when Abraham Lincoln was president. Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery, and was for moderate amounts of change and believed in equality, tradition, decency, and morality. Abraham Lincoln slowly introduced the idea of freeing slaves, he did not enforce the law on citizens, but eased them in, and persuaded others into thinking slavery was immoral. Therefore, I believe immigrants from foreign countries should be accepted and embraced. It is unethical to deny immigrants who have been native in our country for years, the right to be a citizen. Religion is also an uprising issue in government, religion has been around for ages, and disputes about religion will continue to emerge. A major concern is, should religion be present within politics. Well my question is why should it not? Our founding fathers used religion to help build our Constitution, and Unalienable Rights. Why all of a sudden should religion be eliminated from government, if when The United States was first founded they believed everyone to be equal in the eyes of God. This Ideology has opened my eyes to old traditions in government, and has helped me realize that our political background is important in the role of government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Political Ideologies And Social Methods Stalinism has been used to describe a variety of political ideologies and social methods, but often is associated with dictatorial or totalitarian control of the state by a leader, or a small leadership group. Through a totalitarian approach Stalin controlled all aspects of life in Russia. He controlled the output of artists, musicians, and ideas in general, collectivized the economy so it was state controlled, created a persona of himself and used the Great Terror as a way to ensure he would have no opposition. This is how Stalin remodeled the Soviet State successfully into a stronger nation, in his eyes, where the stats influenced all aspects of the economy, society and politics. He issued five year plans and created the Great Break, which abandoned the NEP and started the collectivization and industrialization. He also incorporated command economy which is a pillar for Stalinism. Stalin controlled the economy and politics, which intertwined closely, with an iron fist using the totalitarian and dictatorial ideology, but he was able to succeed with his control of power by world events, timing, and power. The task of this paper is to explain why Stalinism was so successful and why it lasted as long as it did. Stalin started to come to real power after the October Revolution and started to have influence in Russia. Once the Bolsheviks had seized power Stalin was promoted to General Secretary of the Party. I love what you have done with the world, I mean who would have thought that Africa could become the most developed continent? Do you remember Ashesi? Well, I am in my first year here and I have to write this paper to you in order to not repeat my Social Theory course. This paper just talks mainly about the political ideology which I think is closest to my own political beliefs. Maybe, yours are now different from mine. After all, 32 years is a long time. The political ideology which reflects my own beliefs most is Liberalism. In the long run, if the Way is truly the best way, the difference between those who follow the way and those who do not will be very clear. Then the wise ones will follow the way, since the proof that the Way is the best way is now clear." This was what I was thinking, and now you are here, reading about Liberalism being my most favored ideology. With this solution that Liberalism brings, however, there are some areas that I do not quite agree with. One of these is the concept of utilitarianism, which believes that humans mainly gain happiness from consuming material goods and services. I rather believe that the ability to enjoy these goods and services is a by–product of having other immaterial things, such as family, peace and good health. What do you think about this? After all, if anyone should know whether having all you want and need brings real satisfaction, it should be you, with all your material wealth. In terms of human nature, Liberals believe that the nature of a person is innate, which is barely affected by society or history. We believe that human beings are self–reliant creatures and are capable of personal development, especially if they have education (Heywood, 2012). All I am saying in this plenty English is that, when a liberal sees a human being, he or she sees a reasonable being, who if given the needed resources, is capable of developing his or her abilities to make life better and ... • 19. Describe Political Ideology 9. Describe Political ideology and how it differs depending on the type of government A political ideology mainly has to do with how to allocate power and to what ends it should be used. With conservatism, it is with belief the responsibility of the people belongs to the people and they believe in self–government. They believe we should all be equal and have the same opportunities in life. The government should help us so we can all be financially stable. Things like health care and food stamps are important because the government should help all of us, if we cannot do that for ourselves. Although liberals want help from the government they don't believe they should control what we do in our personal lives. They are very big advocators for women's rights for this reason. Focusing on actual government, a big belief is that federal government should have more say over citizens instead of letting state government have control over what we do. Along with having laws they believe more laws will help us. It is a way to keep people in line and provide equal opportunity for everyone. I identify as a liberal but I don't hold all the same beliefs as the typical liberals. I come from a big Hispanic Catholic family; I am one of five children. Growing up I would stay with my grandmother most weekends because my house was always so hectic. I obviously was taken to church every Sunday with her, where we would meet with the rest of my family. We have a political obligation to obey the law in our society , this belief is backed up by the justifications of fairness, consent, utilitarianism, and morality, but the most compelling arguments found for the justification of why we should obey the law are consent, fairness and morality, Utilitarianism. Although there are many justifications for why we should obey the law but these concepts are the strongest justifications in my opinion. Consent: This justification often referred to as consent theory or contract theory claims that we should obey the law because we have consented to it (p.11) The consent theory describes that our obligation to obey the law is because of a voluntary pledge on our part. If we have given consent to our society to implement these laws for us or if we have given the consent to these laws themselves, there should be no reason for us not to have a political obligation to obey the law. The consent given to these laws may not be explicit, expressive or put in writing but the theory explains that tacit or passive consent is another form of voluntary pledge given to obey these laws. Passive or tacit consent is can be given through being a resident in that societies territorial jurisdiction and through voting. Two Major Political Ideologies Today Two Major Political Ideologies Today Republicans and Democrats have been the two main political parties who have battled for control of political positions in the United States since the mid 1850's. While Republican's and Democrat's political ideologies have changed throughout their history, since the late 1960's their parties coalition has relatively stayed the same. In this essay I will briefly summarize these political ideologies that define the Democratic and Republican parties today, before discussing some of the similarities between the two, and then closing with who I agree with more and why I will continue to vote for that party. In general Republican's governing philosophy is one of conservatism. Republicans believe in the philosophy of very little government interference in economic issues, but lots of government intervention in social issues. Republicans vote for laws and regulations that put restrictions on such issues as homosexual marriage and abortion. As for economic issues, republicans tend to advocate in favor of a more laissez–faire economic philosophy or supply side economics. (Bartels) Meaning, Republicans believe in allowing big business and corporations do what they must do with little government interference. They also believe in reducing income taxes and government funding of welfare programs in order to grow the economy from the top down. Ideology is a set of beliefs that affects our outlook on the entire world. Most of the time ideology refers to a set of political beliefs or a set of ideas that relate to religious views. In a simpler meaning, ideology means having a views or opinions based on your ideas of that thing. The Republican ideology today is based on conservatism. They believe in free market economy and the government's job is to provide for its citizens with military protection. A conservative is someone who values the heritage that comes from the past. They believe in classical principles and tend to be more self–righteous. Conservative Republicans believe in tradition, less regulation and free enterprise. They believe in their rights and are hard working. This is the belief that you get what you work for but the government still helps the ones in need. Democrats think it is the responsibility of the government to care for all individuals. Democrats are weak compared to the rest of the political ideologies. They believe the government knows what is best for the citizens. A Democratic liberal is where democracy uses the principles of liberalism. This includes social and economic equality. This argues that the only way for a nation to be successful is to weed out the weak (sick, poor, Jewish, etc.) that pull down on the nation while simultaneously promoting the strong. The problem with mixing biological theories (Darwinism) and political theories (Fascism) is just that, they are two different areas and need different considerations. • 62. political ideology Essay Position Paper: Political Ideology Upon entering my first semester at Southern Nazarene University I could not have told you my political ideology. I knew what my opinions, observations, expectations, and ideals were, but did not know the proper ideology that would define them. Through several courses that I have taken, I have become more informed as to the role that I would like to see the government take throughout society as a whole and in the economy. Upon reading the section of ideology in American Government and Politics Today: the Essentials I learned that the correct term for my ideology is right–wing Conservatism. I would like to see the government take action if necessary in the economy, yet let ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Upon taking the "Worlds smallest Political quiz" online, the website told me that I was a Centrist. A Centrist is a person who favors selective political involvement and practical solutions to modern problems. A Centrist tends to keep an open mind on new issues and prefers capitalism to work out economic problems if at all possible. Although I was a centrist I was on the boarder line of being a right wing conservative who would like to see a capitalistic society and little government intervention. The next quiz was an ideology quiz. This quiz told me that I also tended towards the conservative side. I apparently also would like to see order in society instead of equality. These two tests showed similar results in that both said I was more closely related to a conservative than a liberal. The "Worlds smallest Political Quiz" showed the national results and percentages of those who have previously taken the test. The majority of people who take the quiz, 37.7% are liberals. The second most popular grouping is Centrist at 29 %. The ideology quiz stated that the average of all those who take this quiz are liberal as well. I didn't feel that the questions in the quizzes favored one side, liberal or conservative, more than the other. After reading information about the two different classifications and taking these quizzes I do believe that they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As with everything else in life, the answers depend upon who you ask and why you ask. Leaders can be classified as either benevolent or malevolent. The benevolent leader's frame of mind comes for the benevolent dictatorship: "a theoretical form of government in which an authoritarian leader exercise's absolute political power over the state but does so for the benefit of the population as a whole and sometimes seen as a republican form of enlightened despotism." takes pride and pleasure in serving the people and makes it of utmost importance. Politics can make for a very rousing discussion for it is a given that not everyone shares the same ideals, attitudes and beliefs as that of another as well as of their counterparts. The same must be said for political leaders. after ring On Duties, was convinced by it and wanted to follow its advice in every possible way, in order to become a benevolent leader, he/she would not win my vote. Although Cicero's On Duties makes many strong claims for what he stands by, argues, and debates, they are not necessarily views represented by all, but merely through his ideology. A good leader must enact upon what he/she believes to be in the best interest of the people by capitalizing on his/her own strengths and weaknesses, not someone else's no matter how famous their work. Simply following someone else's step–by–step guidebook does not show their worth, but rather reflects and emphasizes that of another. In turn, by not following in another's footsteps, and instead creating their own path, a great leader is able to make his/her own mark––this is what makes them admirable. "...everyone ought to weigh the characteristics that are his own, and to regulate them, not wanting to see how someone else's might become him; for what is most seemly for a man is the thing that is most in politics, not everyone shares the same attitude and opinion towards a politician. It appeared substantially evident how ABC news attempts to address political stories positively and negatively; while, Univision deliberately chooses to address political stories negatively. For instance, ABC news negatively covered Trump's attempt to avoid talking about gun control after the Las Vegas shooting referring to him as "a president who is drawn to confrontation and thrives on the perception of crises no longer must seek them out." Subsequently, in the research, ABC news and Univision displayed a further difference in coverage by how their quality of writing was ranked regarding factual detail, hoopla, and fluff. Throughout the six–week research study, ABC news' political stories were mainly factual detail and hoopla because it both exaggerated its findings and stated simply facts in its political stories. Factual detail appeared evident when it covered stories about how Trump's travel ban was blocked, Trump declared an opioid crisis, and the President is not visiting the DMZ. Hoopla occurred when it covered stories about other politicians calling Trump "bizarre," politicians criticizing another over Twitter, and Trump's endless statements about engaging in conflict with other politicians. Additionally, Univision produces hoopla in its top political stories, where it overemphasizes Trump's mistakes and his administrations' mistakes as well as how his efforts are negatively impacting people. After completing research on the two news sources, ABC news and Univision, there appeared several significant findings from it. By comparing ABC news and Univision, it was adamant that the news source's bias towards political stories will impact one's political behavior. According to the Trust Levels of Sources by Ideology Group, ABC news was trusted more by consistently liberal, mostly liberal, mostly conservative, and consistently ... This specifically does not relate to politics, but when applied it means a body of concepts that define a country's goals and views of citizenry. All ideologies; religion, communism, socialism, and liberalism have varying traits and goals led by their governments. An example of these differences is that communism values equality while liberalism values freedom. Some do not last too long, while others have spread, liberalism especially. These ideologies also have had opposition throughout history and have had an effect on the entire world. Political ideologies throughout the world, including liberalism as can be seen in Great ... This hate culminated after the image of Khomeini whom was a Shiite himself. But the cafeteria religious believers are focused like a laser on gays and find prescriptions for hate in their ancient texts."(Wingrove) Wingrove believes that religion inside of government only increases hatred toward people that is backed up by text and carried out harshly. Politically, laws form out of the religion as seen in sharia in Iran. These laws affect how the country is perceived by its own people and others. The United Nations for example could nail Iran for its laws that go against human rights. The UN will not do this for fear of worse relations with the Iranians, but it could someday be on the table. Although the cost of living has steadily increased, Income Assistance rates have remained stagnant. The current social welfare policies adopted by the Canadian Government in general and the provincial Government of British Columbia in particular are reflective of the strong liberal political ideology that has taken root in Canadian society. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Canada's acceptance of the welfare state was brief however, and the economic downturn of the 1970's, as well as right–wing campaigns calling for an end to social programs saw massive cuts to the social safety net so many Canadians depended on (p.46). It was believed that to combat economic stagnation and see a return to profits, many social programs must be eliminated. During the 1980's and 1990's government spending on social programs was drastically reduced, effectively dismantling much of the welfare state (another book). Furthermore, 1996 saw the end of the Canada Assistance Plan (CAP) (p.49) that was established in 1966 and helped to standardize and fund nationwide Social Assistance (p.46). This program was a consolidation of federal and provincial programs, with financial responsibility shared 50/50 between federal and provincial governments and among many things, saw that anyone determined to be in need would receive funding without a work requirement imposed to receive assistance (another book p.113). CAP and Established Programs Financing (EPF) were combined into the Canadian Health and Social Transfer (CHST), this merger eliminated many of the requirements laid out in Canadian Assistance Plan by the federal government that required the provinces to uphold certain ... The main thrust of the theory is that everyone was to work to their abilities, and everyone would receive to their needs. The linchpin of this theory, however; was that it must occur in an already well industrialized nation. Leninism/Stalinism takes the Marxist model and adjusts it slightly to take a non–industrialized nation into modernity while simultaneously creating the "workers eutopia" Lenin and Stalin did this mainly by force but Lenin also achieved this by using a quasi–capitalism called "The new economic policy". Classic liberalism/Capitalism finds its roots with the age of enlightenment and the emergence of the United States of America. The economic driving force behind Classic liberalism is capitalism. The idea that economies grow and nations become powerful with minimal government involvement. Central to this theme is the idea of free trade between private parties. Classic liberalism relies also heavily individual rights and freedoms, an individual free to live as they please with minimal government involvement. Progressivism/Socialism is an attempt to lightly combine the idea's of Marxism and classic liberalism. With heavy reliance on government regulation the idea is to manage a capitalist economy in order to evenly distribute goods and service's equally to a nation's populace. There is also a strong tendency for socialist nation to be very liberal in the social sense as well. Many types of deviant behaviors are considered to be be more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Parents should be involved in such a decision like this so 36 states require some type of parental involvement in a minor's decision to have an abortion. 22 states require one or both parents to consent to the procedure, while 12 require that one or both parents be notified and 4 states require both parental consent and notification. Many people believe that restrictive abortion laws may worsen family communication rather than promote it. Abortion providers encourage teenagers to tell a parent or another important family member about their plans, and most teens do. Even without state laws, one or both parents of 61% of minors know about their daughters' abortions. The younger the teen, the higher the likelihood that she has told her mother about the situation. Those young women who do not or cannot tell their parents, however, often have important reasons such as a family history of alcoholism, emotional or physical abuse, or incest. To involve such parents could invite further abuse of the teenager and other family members. Rather than tell their parents – for whatever reason – some teenagers resort to unsafe, illegal abortions or try to perform the abortion themselves. In doing so, they risk serious injury and death or, in some cases, criminal charges. Another concern is that restrictive laws endanger teens' health by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Brooke Johnson Political Ideologies Essay 1 2/24/17 Differing Perspectives of Liberalism Liberalism is characterized by a commitment to individual rights, toleration, limited government, equal opportunity, and a commitment to free market. There are different forms of liberalism that one may identify with, such as classical liberalism, neo– liberalism, egalitarianism, and libertarianism. According to Terence Ball in Ideals and Ideologies, "Liberals see themselves as champions of individual liberty who work to create or preserve an open and tolerant society– a society whose members are free to pursue their own ideas and interests with as little interference as possible" (65). Some of the most important ideologists, such as Immanuel Kant, Thomas Paine, John Locke, and Thomas Hobbes are considered liberalists, as they too believed in eliminated injustices. According to Dr Edwin van de Haar, who specializes in the liberal tradition, there are three different approaches that these liberalists take to the involvement of the state when analyzing liberalist liberty, which include: the state should be completely hands off, the state should have limited involvement, or the state should have a fairly large involvement (The Meaning of Liberalism, 2015). While believers of negative liberty feel that there should be a freedom from the interference of the government, on the other hand supporters of positive liberty believe that liberty is the freedom to fully enjoy one's rights and available opportunities through necessary resources. One main difference between the negative and positive view of liberty is that positive liberty usually requires more support from the government. As stated by Ball, in Thomas Paines' Common Sense, he supported this aspiration for limited government when he wrote "Society in every state is a blessing, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
