Jeremias ”Jerry” Singson,
CDA Officials headed by Dr.
Josefina Bitonio our Regional
Director, all coop leaders of the
province who are gathered in
this Provincial coop month
celebration… good morning!

4. It is a theme that is very
timely in this COVID-19
pandemic that we are
facing… we need to be
resilient in order to
sustain our operation.
Three things that I want to
share with you when it
comes Resiliency.
The theme in this
2020 Coop Month
Celebration, states
that Cooperatives:
Amidst this pandemic,
Stand for Resiliency,
Strive for
Sustainability.

5. The first is for us
coop leaders
and workers to
be resilient in
the movement.
We were entrusted with the role
of being a coop worker, hence we
should do our part to work in this
movement through thick and thin.
This is the time that we are
needed the most, hence as a
leader and worker, we need to
work harder, cooperate and be
considerate with the situation.

6. The second is to
achieve resiliency in
our cooperative
operation
How can we be resilient in
these trying times, if our
resources are limited, if the
business of our cooperative
has been greatly affected by
this pandemic, if wala nang
income ang koop
nagagamitin para isustainang
operation at lalona para
sahuran ang ating mga
empleyado

7. Those are the
challenges, that we are
facing… however, let
us not falter and get
discouraged, instead
we should be more
vigorous to do our part.
Ituloy tayo apo nga igaed ti
trabaho tayo, be innovative,
plan our move, evaluate our
ongoing programs and most
importantly we strive hard
to strengthen our coop
foundation for the benefit
our members and the
communities that we serve.
It is through being resilient
that the coop is able to
survive and sustain its
operation.

8. The third is showing to
the world how the
cooperative is working
and helping the
Government towards
providing essential
services to
communities.
According to the report of the
Cooperative Development Authority,
there are a total of 18,581 cooperatives
in the country with total of 11.6Million
members. Cooperatives are helping these
11.6Million through providing them with
opportunities of livelihood and
employment. Of the said number of
cooperatives a total of 513,000
individuals have been employed in the
coop. Malaki po ang ambag ng
cooperatiba sa ekonomia. And during this
Covid-19 pandemic, cooperatives had
donated a total of Php5.4Billion pesos in
form of cash and other initiatives. In
cooperatives, we are doing our Corporate
Social Responsibilities through our
mandatory Community Development
Fund.

9. I would also like to elaborate the
NSCC Partnership with the Local
Government Units especially with the
Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.
Long before, pinagkatiwalaan napo
tayo ng Provincial Government to
manage their livelihood fund. And the
latest is the Ilocos Sur Capital
Assistance Recovery Program for
Entrepreneurs and OFWs. Lately,
nagkaroon din po ng project ang
Kailian MPC with the Provincial
Government under the PRDP
Program.

with the
Government,

10. Ito po ay manifestation na malakipo
ang tiwala ng ating Provincial
Government sa mga Kooperatiba.
Sabi nga ng mga kooperatiba sa
ibang mga Probinsia..napakasuerte
daw natin dito sa Ilocos Sur at
napaka supportive ng ating LGU sa
mga kooperatiba.Isang masigabong
virtual na palakpakan po para sa
ating mga Provincial Leaders na
pinangungunahan ng ating mahal
na Governador Hon. Ryan Luis
Singson.
Ito po ay

11. Lastly, I encourage our coop
leaders that we should be
one in making our
cooperatives become
resilient organization of
people, always facing the
challenge to move forward
despite circumstances and
situation. Like Chairman
Ravanera is always saying
People United can Never be
defeated!
