The Controversy About Traffic Stop Signs
Vaccines, doctors say, provide a safeguard and help prevent anticipated pains. The same could be
said ― could it not? ― about traffic stop signs. Regard the situation at hand, and, taken aback,
propensity forces the mind to think; neglect this subject matter if it is a burden on your brain.
Nonetheless, the stop sign is still disrespected. It seems to just be a misplaced piece of metal shoved
into the earth, one's pet–peeve, a chore given at the wrongest of times. Inconvenience, we grumble,
is senseless (especially in this era of technological pace). Still what is so often haphazardly
followed, as the stop sign ― unless it be a safeguard in itself. Traffic rules, millions are taught, have
an intention: to uphold regulation and serenity. Traffic

Symbolism In Jesus Camp
In 2006, directors Heidi Erving and Cahal Grady released "Jesus Camp". The directors go to Devil's
Lake, North Dakota to document a camp run by and for Evangelicals. Becky Fisher, the camp's
leader, admits that society ought to indocrinate its children. The word "evangelical" means fervent
or zealous. Becky Fisher furvently trains the children to develop a one–sided perception of the world
so they can take back America for Christ. While all Evangelicals do not behave this way, the
directors present a group of these individuals and what they live for. In "Jesus Camp", the directors
create a political context, elements of juxtaposition and symbolism to promote the discussion of the
following: when does education become indoctrination?
With the presidential election of George Bush in 2005, Evangelicals felt empowered. He was a
conservative and many of his political ideals aligned with the evangelicals'. Becky Fisher utilizes the
camp activities comminicate conservative political ideology to the children. In "Jesus Camp", Becky
Fisher denies the claim that her camp is politically inclined. Yet, her camp "activities" assert a
different side of the argument. For example, the camp's leaders told the children that abortion is
wrong. The camp's leaders spoke of Roe v. Wade and how it legalized abortion within the first
trimester in the pregnancy. The leaders show what fetuses look like at different stages in the
pregnancy. They tell the children that one third of their friends are

What Is Self Driving Essay
Is self driving dangerous?
Self driving cars will cause many issues. Imagine If you were walking across the street and you got
run over by a self driving car. What If you were in one of these cars and it stopped working, but you
couldn't drive a normal car. Dangers like there are why self driving cars should not be produced.
Self driving cars will cause drivers to not be experienced, gps systems can sometimes fail, and the
cars cannot obey basic traffic signs and laws, some people believe self driving cars are beneficial for
younger drivers, but this is not true. Self driving cars will cause many drivers to be not experienced
on how to drive a normal car, which can be a large problem in an emergency. In fact, teens look
forward to driving, and it is important that they are safe. According to "Total number of licensed
drivers in the U.S. in 2016, by state," in 2016, 222 million people had licences. This proves that
many people have licenses, but that number will decrease significantly if many self driving cars are
produced. "In October, the California Department of Motor Vehicles ... Show more content on

In fact, because licences won't be needed, it will allow a large span of ages to drive. According to
Mark Phelan, self driving cars will be able to transport children in the future. This could be very
useful, however, imagine if a 5 year old could just jump in a car and leave whenever they wanted
without somebody stopping them before they did something reclous or got lost. According to Jim
Taylor, when he asks a group of young people if they have made stupid decisions and if they will
continue to make stupid decisions, they all raised their hands. This shows that children will make
stupid decisions, and that won't change when they are in a self driving car, as a result, in no way,
should children be in cars by themselves, it is a serious hazard and should be stopped before it is

How Red Effects Human Emotion and Behavior Essay
There is an influence constantly working on our minds, one that we may not have even noticed. It
follows us everywhere, and we can't escape it no matter how hard we try. It doesn't make a sound or
move, it just silently hides in plain sight effecting the way we think. Colors are one of the most
effective yet least thought about influences on our minds. How come seemingly every super hero
has a red suit? Or why are the super villains always wearing black? Why are hospitals never painted
red, and most businesses have white, yellow, and red for their logo colors? The most emotionally
intense color is arguably red. Even though we don't always notice it, red effects our moods, how we
perceive others, our health, and even how we talk. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If one competitor is weak and another is strong, wearing red won't change that. But the closer the
levels of the two players, the more the color will have an influence on the other opponent (Ahmed
Abdul–Sherif). Having red as a team color can make the other team feel anxious, cause them to
make more mistakes, and even feel guilt or hatred while in the game. Pink, a lighter shade of red,
has a slightly different effect. Though still a shade of red, it has a dramatic difference in how it can
make us feel. Pink sneaks in feeling of love, serenity, and can drain energy. Which is why often
times teams paint their opponents locker rooms pink, in hopes to make them a little more relaxed
and drained before games. Clothing A study at University of Rochester was done on how the color
red can effect how men think of women. In the first test, they held up one of two pictures. Both were
pictures of the same woman, but she was wearing red in one, and blue in the other. In the second
test, they held up one of two pictures as well. The two pictures were exactly alike, but one had a red
border around the picture, and the other had black. On average 85% of the men said the woman with
either the red border or the red shirt was more attractive. They also said they would be willing to do
more for and spend more on the woman in red (someone). This wasn't the case when asked which
woman looked more intellectual. Andrew Elliot, the professor of phycology at

The Dangers Of Speeding Essay
Did you know that in two thousand fourteen there were five thousand nine hundred and thirty three

A man gets pulled over on his way to work after lunch when addressed by the delightful presence of
a military police officer the cop says "good after noon I am with the fort riley military police

Persuasive Essay On Texting And Driving
Getting behind the wheel is so dangerous if we think about it. We are not just trusting ourselves, but
everyone else on the road. We actually put ourselves at risk when we get on the roads. We all hear
about drunk drivers, and the results of their actions. Deaths, accidents, regrets, but how about texting
and driving? I remember several months ago, I pulled up to a stop sign, and was stopped for only
about one–second. The sign was down a little hill, so it was not noticeable from the distance. As
stopped, I saw in my rearview mirror, a car coming in fast, and before he could react, he slammed
into the back of me. The cause of it? He was going down that road fast, and on his phone. While he
was looking down on his phone, probably sending a text, he did not see the sign that advised there
was a stop sign ahead. If he was not distracted, the accident could have easily been avoided. The
National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each
year. Imagine if cell phones weren't around like years ago, these incidents would not be happening.
The driver takes their eyes off the road for 10 seconds. Is that message really important of what you
had to say? It is not even just messages in todays society, people especially teenagers are looking at
their phone to change the songs. I am guilty for this, and I know many people who I have drove with
also are. We can decrease the risk of this. The transtheorectical model is the model of

Officer Tabor Argumentative Essay
On 25 March 2017, at 0220 hours in the City of Goddard, Officer Tabor was traveling Westbound at
the 20000 block of West Kellogg in his patrol vehicle. As he approached 20300 West Kellogg, he
decided that he would check the business lot. While slowing his vehicle and maneuvering it into the
right hand turn lane, he visually saw a small sized SUV type vehicle facing South at the stop sign of
Main Street and West Kellogg. While executing his right hand turn, Officer Tabor's headlights
shined onto the driver's side and front interior of the vehicle stopped at the stop sign. This facilitated
Officer Tabor to visually see that the driver was not wearing their safety belt and was instead leaned
over the center console, presumebly looking at the cellular phone being held by the front seat
passenger.
As Officer Tabor continued to the Northern most part of Main Street in the City of Goddard, he
noticed with the aid of his driver's side mirror that the same vehicle was still sitting at a complete
stop at the stop sign of Main Street and Kellogg. This seemed to be abnormal behavior for just after
two in the morning in Goddard, as the lack of traffic that time of day should not impede the entry of
a vehicle onto the highway after stopping at the stop sign. At this moment, Officer Tabor took the

Identify The Different Types Of Drivers Essay
When traversing highways and interstates, people run into many different types of drivers. Those
operating vehicles all fall into a certain category. Drivers, though more than likely not self–aware,
have a very specific way of driving that allows them to fall into such a category; however, drivers
typically do not have a problem calling out other drivers on their faults. It would almost seem that a
long trip or even a quick run anywhere is really just a never ending sequence of blaring horns and
screeching halts in contempt for drivers outside of one's own classification. Vehicle operators will
either drive carelessly, dangerously, or carefully. Drivers can be classified into three categories: The
DJ, Daredevils, and Goody Two–Shoes. The first type of driver falls into the careless category, also
known as the DJ. DJs tend to blare music at deafening decibels. To maximize their disturbance, DJs
also typically drive with all windows rolled down including the sunroof. If the cars immediately
surrounding them are not shaking along to the beat DJs are unsatisfied. DJs are also really good at
multitasking. Rather than their main focus being on the road or the surroundings, DJs' attention is on
whatever handheld device they're selecting music from. Most of the time they come out alive. DJs
are also skilled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They all fall into at least one category, but can sometimes identify with two or even all three.
Vehicle operators are not generally aware of their own classification, but can more often than not
identify the category that other drivers fall into. This identification is usually pointed out through the
rage empowered shouts of neighboring drivers. These categories also present a sort of hate triangle.
The three types do not often coexist peacefully, but on rare occasions you can find them driving in
harmony. Drivers can be classified into three categories: The DJ, Daredevils, and Goody

Persuasive Effect Of Advertising In Advertising
Advertisements play a highly important role in the United States' consumerist society, as Americans
are exposed to ads in nearly every form of media. Each of these ads target a different audience and
have varying levels of persuasive effect. Take for example an Audi commercial that was released in
2017, where clowns drove around recklessly and created a dangerous environment for other drivers.
In this commercial, different safety features of the Audi cars caused the vehicles to avoid crashes in
spite of the dangerous driving around them. The content of this advertisement helps to determine the
target audience: wealthy American drivers. The use of clowns within the commercial provided
evidence that the ad primarily targeted American consumers, as clowns were depicted as both a
symbol of humor and fear or danger. This media portrayal of clowns as a scary and dangerous
symbol, along with the common childhood fear of clowns, is mostly unique to American culture. As
a result, those from different countries or different cultural backgrounds would have less
understanding of this advertisement. The high price for purchasing a new Audi vehicle also gave
evidence that the advertisement was targeting wealthy consumers. The persuasive effect that the
advertisement has on this target audience is determined by a number of message strategies used
throughout the commercial. These strategies included fear appeal, appeals to positive emotion, and
storytelling, with each of these strategies

Jerry Kline: A Short Story
"Here we are," shouts the bus driver "Boston, Massachusetts." I slowly sit up in my seat, looking
around the bus watching the other 10 gloomy passengers look out their windows waiting for the
vehicle to come to a complete stop before standing up. The lights inside the bus switch on, and
slowly all of us file off the bus. I walk down the bus stairs and jump onto the cracked concrete.
Looking up I see a dimly lit bus stop with blank advertisement stalls and a bench that looks as if it
would collapse the instant someone sat on it. I walk down the sidewalk along some apartment
buildings with vines crawling up the sides of the worn brick walls. As I walk, searching for my
destination, my phone rings. I look down at the name: "Jerry Kline." Dammit not again I think to
myself. Just be cool. "Hello?" I answer. "Chad! About time! I've been calling you for ages!" "What?

My Personal Statement On My Life
It crazy how a minute detail can change the entire outcome a situation. Life has many hardships, I
for one believe that it is these hardships that shapes us into what we are today. I was about ten years
old but had the mentality of a four year old boy. Mostly cried when I was denied a toy or grounded
for being mischievous. Like every other week I would grind my way into emotionally blackmailing
my parents to allow me to go to my friends place and then go the extra mile to stay as long as
possible. Every week was the same until 15 November 2005 what's especial about this week you ask
well it's a week before my birthday plus the last week my parents can call themselves rich. This year
I was about to turn 11 and I wanted a huge party. Well for me that was inviting all my friends to
McDonalds I called it my paradise. The day before the big day my dad came to pick me up from
school and as I sat in the car knowing my irrational behavior he locked the car and told me that I
could not have my birthday in my paradise due to some technicality with the booking. I was furious,
for me it was the end of the world I was extremely embarrassed because I had flaunted in front of
everybody I made eye contact with. My friends expected those cute little cards which had a hidden
clown in them that jumped out as soon as one opened it. It was like I was left at the altar. Sounds
extreme but I was 10 year old trying to jump towards his teenage. To make it up to me my dad took

Stop Sign Sociology
My main speculation from this assignment was definitely that people were much more apt to make a
complete stop while being observed rather than not being observed. When people were being
watched they usually stopped because someone was watching or because they wanted to see who
the random person was standing at the stop sign. People that are oblivious to the fact that they are
being watched are at a higher risk of rolling the stop sign or not stopping at all. Another theory I
found in my research was that it really didn't matter what gender the person was. Both male and
female seemed to have roughly the same percentage of stopping, rolling, and not completing the
stop at all. Most of my other data is very random, the most distinct piece of

Cause And Effect Essay On Drivers Driving
Automobile accidents are a leading cause of death in the United States today. A high percentage of
these accidents are caused by elderly drivers who are not fit to drive. Health issues, lack of
knowledge of new driving laws, or the development of bad driving habits are some factors that
contribute to this issue. However, not all older drivers are dangerous behind the wheel. Actually,
many are safer drivers than their younger counterparts. They are more cautious, adapt to weather
conditions better, and tend to be less distracted behind the wheel. But the government should not
ignore the elderly drivers who have killed others while behind the wheel due to age related issues.
Licensed drivers over the age of 65 should be required to retake their driving test every year due to
health issues that come with age, updated driving laws, and bad driving habits that develop over
time. Health issues that come with age can heavily affect a driver's ability to control an automobile
safely. Dementia, strokes, and impaired vision are just a few examples of many health issues that
cause some senior drivers to be unfit to drive. Dementia affects its victims by severely decreasing
thinking skills and causing memory loss. When a stroke occurs, blood flow is cut off from the brain,
which eliminates the driver's ability to control their vehicle. The chance of a stroke increases
tremendously with age. From a decrease in depth perception, blurry vision, and cataracts; impaired
vision can come in

Nt1310 Unit 3 Activity 1 Summary
Activity 1 presents the challenge of detecting vehicles in front of a stereo camera and determining
the distance to them using stereo data. The team accomplished this by creating a disparity map from
the two rectified images and then plotting a point cloud based on this data. A cascaded object
detector is then used to get regions of interest (ROIs) where vehicles are in frame. These ROIs are
then used to extract the depth of the vehicle in the point cloud. The result is a distance to the
identified vehicle.
A.1 Computer Vision Function Descriptions
One frame from each camera is pulled into the program and then rectified based on calibration of
each camera. The calibration process takes in the camera calibration parameters of the cameras, the
rotation, and translation of the second camera in relation to the first camera. After being rectified
based on the calibration, a disparity map is created. A disparity map is an intensity map that shows
the measurements of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For activity 2, the frame is run through a thresholding function that creates a binary image based on
the histogram levels that are similar to that of a stop sign. Any pixel that falls within the levels are
then converted to a value of one and the rest are set to zero. The binary image is then put through
two morphological operators, open and close. The open morphological operator gets rid of smaller
clutters of pixels as defined by the parameters that are passed in to the function. The close
morphological operator fills in clusters of pixels that are the shape of the parameter passed to the
function. In this case, the shape is an octagon just like a stop sign. The last step is to run the binary
image through blob analysis to get the ROIs that are of a specified minimum size. Once the ROIs
have been found, they are passed into the cascade object detector for verification of

Les Miserables, directed by Billie August Essay
The epic movie Les Misérables, directed by Billie August, tells the tale of life and exploits of a man
named Jean Valjean. Valjean was convicted of stealing food at young age, but after being released
from prison and rising through the ranks to become the mayor of Vigo, he finds himself being
constantly pursued by one of his ex–prison guards. This man, Javert, is determined to have Valjean
locked up once again. During this intense struggle, it becomes easy to see that different people from
this time period decide to follow the law in different ways. Throughout this film, Jean Valjean
repeatedly chooses to abide by the spirit of the law, while his sworn enemy, Javert, mercilessly
enforces the letter of the law. The spirit of the law and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when dealing with the spirit of the law, it is up to the individual to personally decide what
the law's intention is and the most efficient way to maintain this goal without causing any
inconvenience to the person and the people around him or her. These two different mindsets are
similar in the sense that both are concerned with keeping people safe and making sure that society
runs smoothly, even though the letter of the law tends to accomplish this goal in a much more strict
and no–nonsense manner. In Les Misérables, Javert, the new police officer of Vigo, is the epitome of
someone who chooses to live by the letter of the law. He spends most of his time dealing out harsh
punishments to citizens without stopping to question whether or not his actions are right because he
believes he is justified by the laws. Javert is extremely austere and always follows protocol no
matter what the circumstance. Within the first five minutes of his arrival in Vigo, he has already
reprimanded the Chief of Police for failing to review his papers, not because it is important, but
because it is protocol. A perfect illustration of Javert's love for the law is that when he falsely
discovers that Valjean was not a convict, he tells him that, "an inferior has shown a complete lack of
respect for the law. He must be exposed and punished." He continues to then admit to slandering
Valjean and demanding that Valjean dismisses him immediately because that is what the

My morning had begun with the usual black coffee served hot in my favorite mug depicting a cat in

they ran into Brady's house and grabbed four pillow cases to put the candy into when they were

Hunter Zolomon
Hunter Zolomon was a forensic scientist running late to his job at the CCPD (Central City Police
Department). He was good at his job but he always thought that people made him sound better at his
job than he actually was. He was outside of the building about thirty minutes late to work but he
knew it would be fine because he was on fairly good terms with the captain of the force. When he
walked into the building and got up the elevator he noticed, again, just how much design and detail
there was. On the left and right of the room were stairs that lead up into some offices. Above the
elevators is a golden sculpture of a police badge in front of some officers. If you keep going straight,
there is another room with many desks and computers with ... Show more content on

Reed would launch his quantum accelerator which would expand their knowledge of quantum
physics by nine thousand percent. Hunter was very excited because he had been a huge fan of Dr.
Reed since he was a kid. It was because of him, that he had won every science fair since the seventh
grade. He often thought about what would happen if something were to go wrong during the
activation of the accelerator. "Nah, that won't happen," he said to himself. As he put those thoughts
aside, he moved to work on the DNA samples. It was the usual routine, test whatever needed to be
tested, then go get lunch at the Indian place across the street, test some more stuff, and go home. In
about 4 minutes Joe would walk in with some more stuff from a new case just like he did every
other day. At this point he bet that he could do the whole day blindfolded. Here and there he would
play a game with himself just to get away from the repetitiveness. Hunter could hear Joe walking up
the stairs, which he was expecting to happen any moment. Much to his surprise however, when
Hunter looked up, he saw that Joe didn't have some stuff that he had to run any tests on. Instead, he
had nothing, which Hunter thought was quite odd. "You don't have anything for me to test? Is
everything alright?" Hunter asked once Joe was in his

My Primus Amor
I was staring into her green eyes as I had many times before tonight and yet something was different
about them in our dimly lit apartment that dark cloudy night. "John I know you're on something,"
said Margret in a tearful fiery rage," just tell me what it is before I lose my temper!" "Okay," I said,"
I'm on oxycodone." After I said that she left the room tears streaming from her face like a dam had
broken. I attempted to chase after her but in my inebriated state I fell to the floor. As I lay there on
the floor, I could not help but think of how Margret finally knew my problem. I flashed back to the
night that I had taken my first oxy with rob and how instantly hooked I was to the substance. It
made me feel so good; it took the edge off the world, took away my pain, and cancelled out
everything I did not want to focus on in this cruel world. As the flash back ended I was once more
staring back into Margret's eyes. "Promise me you're going to stop these drugs," she said. As the
cliché of the drug addict goes I said, "I promise you Margret that I'll quit these not only for me but
for you". "Okay," she said," but no more chances after this one." "Alright babe, this is the only
chance I'll need," said as I pecked her on the check then drew her into a warm embrace. Her
embrace felt like it was lacking the trust and warmth that had been there many times before. It is
surprising then that I didn't see the next series of events coming. It had been several weeks since I

Describe The Importance Of Road Safety Inspections
Road Safety Inspections
Road safety inspections are important. The material explicitly describes the importance of safety
inspections. Without road inspections, the streets and highways would be a chaos for commuters
(Ward, Otto & Linkenbach, 2014). Just imagined if the overgrown shrubs and trees hid the traffic
road signs and directional signs pointing in the wrong way. This would be a recipe for disaster.
Additional lives would be at–risk by this potential roadway hazards. Identifying potential roadway
hazards timely may reduce the mortality rate (Ward, Otto & Linkenbach, 2014).
The Office of Traffic Safety and other similar agencies are working diligently to develop a remedial
measure to save drivers' lives (DOT, 2011). To alleviate the road hazards in Minnesota, the road
safety inspector conducts routine safety inspections. The safety inspector examines the highways,
construction signs, bridges, and obstructions that may block the motorists' view (DOT, 2011). The
State of Minnesota is vulnerable to various potential hazards. These hazards are associated with
man–made and natural disasters that threatens the loss of life and property.
Inspector Role
An inspection is a critical element that detects and responds to potential hazards. For example, the
inspector ensures that the road signs are visible both day and night. In Minnesota, public safety
department encourages the citizens to report any potential road hazards like potholes and damaged
road signs.

How I Become A Master Driver
How To Become a Master Driver One of the greatest accomplishments in a teenager's life is
receiving their driver's license. Obtaining a license gives a teenager freedom and a newfound sense
of independence because they are no longer at their parents' mercy and can drive themselves.
However, becoming a skillful and master driver is so important, rather than just getting a driver 's
license. A master driver is someone who is truly aware of the dangers associated with driving, and
he or she knows how to handle them in an effective manner. Every year countless accidents occur by
reckless drivers, which leads to numerous deaths. I believe everyone can become a master driver
just by following basic driving rules. I will define a master driver who has four qualities: a master
driver always obeys traffic rules, a master driver always cares about his safety and others, a master
driver always wears a seat belt and ask others to do the same, and a master driver always scans his
surroundings. First of all, in order to become a master drive an individual needs to obey all traffic
rules and regulations. Most accidents occur because some drivers fail to recognize, respect, and
obey some important traffic signs and road markings. There are important requirements to be a safe
and responsible driver. Making a complete stop at stop signs is very important. Always slow down
when the light turns yellow, rather than speeding up. Furthermore, in the rainy weather always

Excessive Driving : The Dangers Of Driving
Drivers Beware
There was a time when getting a driver's license meant the right to own a car. And a car was a
symbol of freedom which left its owner endless opportunities to cruise their towns, to take in the
scenery, and to meet people. Now, vehicles are merely a means of transportation, getting the driver
from point A to point B as quickly as possible, and with little regard for other people on the road.
Today's drivers exhibit many dangerous habits that are causing increasingly hazardous road
conditions for everyone, such as impatient decision–making, distracted driving, and intentional
recklessness.
Being in a hurry while operating a car leads to selfish and impatient choices that result in
automobile accidents, or even worse, needless deaths. Drivers who approach a stop sign and don't
come to a complete stop are not leaving themselves enough time to see other cars that might be
entering the intersection. Furthermore, a rolling stop is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians or
cyclist who aren't able to move quickly enough to avoid a car. Impatience leads to aggressive
tendencies and can cause unnecessary hostility between drivers. For example, honking a car's horn
at another driver for not accelerating at a light change fast enough can lead to road rage incidents.
Excessive lane changes are another form of aggressive driving, and this move prevents other drivers
from being able to keep a safe distance, which increases the chances of a collision. Lastly, drivers
who are in

This driver is looking down at his or her phone, going over the speed limit. Suddenly, the driver
approaches a stop sign looking down at the phone, he does not stop and hits the car who is turning
when they were supposed to. An innocent person following the rules of the road could be harmed,
and the person who was not paying attention might have damage to their car, but walk away clean
from the crash.
What are the consequences for the car accident? The car insurance will go up and he or she will
have to pay for damage, but they will get back into a car and drive to another location again.
Licenses should be taken away for at least six months after the first offense of texting while driving.
If licenses are not taken away, the offenders will not learn their lesson. If there are no consequences,
then they will not think anything they are doing is wrong. In psychology studies, it is shown that
texting while driving can be the same or almost worse than drinking and driving.
Your brain works so hard while driving. There are so many distractions around you. Just to name a
few, the other cars coming at you, looking for stop signs, the music on the radio, the possible
passengers in the car, cars turning left and right. Imagine putting another distraction into the mix.
Looking down at a phone on top of all of those distractions, will almost most definitely lead to a
crash.

These are single devices which function by the use of a scanning laser beam to view and map an
area.
This works by use of a two–dimensional sensing zone, this zone is programmable thus enabling it to

Guards / Physical Barriers
The standard barrier used to prevent access to a robot consists of a perimeter fence that is made from
2 m–high rigid panels securely fastened to the floor or to some convenient structure and positioned
so that it is not possible to reach any dangerous parts of machinery.
The possibility of component ejection should also be considered when designing this type of barrier.
Fixed transparent barriers may be adequate. For most purposes, a hollow section steel framework
in–filled with mesh is satisfactory.
Where regular access is required, the fencing may be provided with sliding or hinged interlocked
access gates; and/or an opening protected by a trip device.
Brakes or hydraulic/pneumatic stop valves
Should be incorporated to prevent the robot from moving or cause the gripper to release the load
when power is removed. Such as that in the event of an emergency stop.
Brakes should be provided where there is the danger of

What Is Deja Vu Essay
Déjà vu ..... could it be ?
This story takes place while I was driving home one evening.
Like usual, I was letting my mind wander past the cars beside me, and had begun falling into a
daydream state. I was pondering work, (which is not a thing to give ponder after leaving, I dare say),
when a peculiar thing happened.
Well, I can not say that it was a "thing," but rather, a moment of time that revealed a strange state of
being.
Now, many people have had moments of "deja vu." There are many explanations and theories
behind the events that unfold in our concious/subconcious minds during these times of "similar
experience."
In my case, though, it was bordering on uncomfortably eerie, and amazingly excitable, all at the
same time.
While driving down the freeway, I had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Was this "deja vu," or prophecy? I was perplexed, yet, quietly amazed with myself. I tried to set up
several other scenarios as I travelled along, but alas, I eventually pulled into my driveway with no
further events.
I slowly came to a stop beside my mailbox. I stared toward my home, up that long, dusty, gravel

Reflective Essay About Identity
My identity was defined as a human being, not one of Korean. It was changed after coming to the
United States. Although I have heard and learned about cultural differences, I could not sympathize
with it. The belief that was normal for me can be abnormal in other cultures. There are lots of stop
signs in residential areas in California, and drivers have to stop for a second in front of the signs.
But, I have never done before in Korea because most Korean drivers cross the intersections with
glancing other sides for a moment without stopping. A time in my life that caused me to learn a
lesson of cultural difference was when I was caught by police because of ignoring stop sign in
residential area. This experience caused me to remind the proverb: When in Rome, do as the
Romans do, to feel the importance of the each individual in the community, and to listen to others
advice. One accident made me feel what the cultural differences are in the United States. When I
came to the United States, I bought a new car. I had a car in my home country, so it was not a new
situation for me. I took a DMV test and passed at once, but I felt a huge difference and strict law in
California law. But, I ignored and drove in my style that I used in my home country. I kept the law
usually when I drove in the nonresidential area such as freeway, so there were no problems. But,
'Stop Sign' is the hardest for me to keep. It was annoying to stop perfectly for about three seconds

The Causes And Effects Of False Memory
False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the human brain is
very susceptible to suggestion, and the "misinformation and misattribution of the original source of
the information. Existing knowledge and other memories can also interfere with the formation of a
new memory, causing the recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false." (VERYWELL
CITE). For instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid–
seventies on the effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. "Subjects were shown a
slide of a car at an intersection with either a yield sign or a stop sign. Experimenters asked
participants questions, falsely introducing the term "stop sign" into the question instead of referring
to the yield sign participants had actually seen. Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term
"yield sign" in questions directed to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The
results indicated that subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues
altered participants' memories." (STANFORD JOURNAL).
Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is "the process of interpretation
that occurs at the very formation of memory–thus introducing distortion from the beginning.
Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police
officers or lawyers." (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our memory can be affected by us

Creating False Memory, By Elizabeth Loftus
False memory refers to a phenomenon that makes an individual believe that they remember events
in their lives but in real sense, these events have never occurred. In most cases, these events are
traumatic, and relate to sexual abuse. False memory syndrome was postulated in 1992 in an attempt
to explain the theory of adult childhood memory. Adults who remember sexual abuse events when
they were young may be creating an occurrence that never happened or information that is not
correct.
Synopsis
Nadean Cool attended therapeutic sessions with the hope of modifying her reaction to the shocking
events of her daughter. The therapist misguided her. The therapist convinced her that her current
response was a result of past involvement with a satanic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Loftus argues that people can be shaped to remember their past in different ways. She used a study
about getting lost in a Mall to show that individuals can be prompted to recollect the whole events
that occurred to them (Loftus 74). Imagination can also create a false memory of an occurrence that
never happened. Loftus and her colleagues requested the participant to record on a scale the
possibility of the forty events named occurred in their childhood. After two weeks, they were
allowed to imagine some of the occurrences they had said never happened in their childhood. They
were asked to rate the events again. Individuals, who participated in the imagining test, became
convinced that the incident happened (Loftus 75).
In summary, the discussion about the false memory syndrome is far from being complete. False
memory syndrome makes it difficult to judge the viability of an event and is very hard to banish
from ones memory. A small false creation embeds in the mind for a very long time. Once an
individual creates a false memory, it becomes part and parcel of his or her life. Therapeutic sessions
should be taken with care so as to reduce false memory implanted to reduce

Driving And The Driving Of Driving Essay
I've always been fascinated with cars and being able to drive, different styles of cars and how each
one was different. I wanted to drive them all. I often found myself using the internet to try and see
what car I would have when I was able to finally drive. So many different cars from all over the
world but learning to drive never changes.
I am not a very good driver to begin with and accidents happen easily, I mean how many times have
accidents scared you? There is only one way to drive, safely and cautiously.
I remember the first time I drove, it was wise to stay indoors because I went over the curbs on the
street. My driving was equivalent to an old blind man learning to drive. Being guided didn't seem to
be the best way to learn, I needed the experience, I needed to feel the car. When it all began I started
learning with a friend, yes it may have been illegal to drive without a permit but I got more progress
done then driving with a family member. Usually everybody learns from their guardian or an elder
but in my case and maybe others, family is not the best way to go when wanting to learn to drive.
Learning with my friend was calming and comfortable, I felt less pressure instead of my mother
who would probably be screaming of terror or nervousness. The screaming only scared me more and
made me feel more pressure to do better. She constantly tried to keep her hands close to the wheel
"just in case something happened". I had to only be going about 15mph before I was

The Controversy of Stop Signs

  • 1. The Controversy About Traffic Stop Signs Vaccines, doctors say, provide a safeguard and help prevent anticipated pains. The same could be said ― could it not? ― about traffic stop signs. Regard the situation at hand, and, taken aback, propensity forces the mind to think; neglect this subject matter if it is a burden on your brain. Nonetheless, the stop sign is still disrespected. It seems to just be a misplaced piece of metal shoved into the earth, one's pet–peeve, a chore given at the wrongest of times. Inconvenience, we grumble, is senseless (especially in this era of technological pace). Still what is so often haphazardly followed, as the stop sign ― unless it be a safeguard in itself. Traffic rules, millions are taught, have an intention: to uphold regulation and serenity. Traffic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Symbolism In Jesus Camp In 2006, directors Heidi Erving and Cahal Grady released "Jesus Camp". The directors go to Devil's Lake, North Dakota to document a camp run by and for Evangelicals. Becky Fisher, the camp's leader, admits that society ought to indocrinate its children. The word "evangelical" means fervent or zealous. Becky Fisher furvently trains the children to develop a one–sided perception of the world so they can take back America for Christ. While all Evangelicals do not behave this way, the directors present a group of these individuals and what they live for. In "Jesus Camp", the directors create a political context, elements of juxtaposition and symbolism to promote the discussion of the following: when does education become indoctrination? With the presidential election of George Bush in 2005, Evangelicals felt empowered. He was a conservative and many of his political ideals aligned with the evangelicals'. Becky Fisher utilizes the camp activities comminicate conservative political ideology to the children. In "Jesus Camp", Becky Fisher denies the claim that her camp is politically inclined. Yet, her camp "activities" assert a different side of the argument. For example, the camp's leaders told the children that abortion is wrong. The camp's leaders spoke of Roe v. Wade and how it legalized abortion within the first trimester in the pregnancy. The leaders show what fetuses look like at different stages in the pregnancy. • 9. What Is Self Driving Essay Is self driving dangerous? Self driving cars will cause many issues. Imagine If you were walking across the street and you got run over by a self driving car. What If you were in one of these cars and it stopped working, but you couldn't drive a normal car. Dangers like there are why self driving cars should not be produced. Self driving cars will cause drivers to not be experienced, gps systems can sometimes fail, and the cars cannot obey basic traffic signs and laws, some people believe self driving cars are beneficial for younger drivers, but this is not true. Self driving cars will cause many drivers to be not experienced on how to drive a normal car, which can be a large problem in an emergency. In fact, teens look forward to driving, and it is important that they are safe. According to "Total number of licensed drivers in the U.S. in 2016, by state," in 2016, 222 million people had licences. This proves that many people have licenses, but that number will decrease significantly if many self driving cars are produced. "In October, the California Department of Motor Vehicles ... According to Mark Phelan, self driving cars will be able to transport children in the future. This could be very useful, however, imagine if a 5 year old could just jump in a car and leave whenever they wanted without somebody stopping them before they did something reclous or got lost. According to Jim Taylor, when he asks a group of young people if they have made stupid decisions and if they will continue to make stupid decisions, they all raised their hands. This shows that children will make stupid decisions, and that won't change when they are in a self driving car, as a result, in no way, should children be in cars by themselves, it is a serious hazard and should be stopped before it is ... • 13. How Red Effects Human Emotion and Behavior Essay There is an influence constantly working on our minds, one that we may not have even noticed. It follows us everywhere, and we can't escape it no matter how hard we try. It doesn't make a sound or move, it just silently hides in plain sight effecting the way we think. Colors are one of the most effective yet least thought about influences on our minds. How come seemingly every super hero has a red suit? Or why are the super villains always wearing black? Why are hospitals never painted red, and most businesses have white, yellow, and red for their logo colors? The most emotionally intense color is arguably red. Even though we don't always notice it, red effects our moods, how we perceive others, our health, and even how we talk. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If one competitor is weak and another is strong, wearing red won't change that. But the closer the levels of the two players, the more the color will have an influence on the other opponent (Ahmed Abdul–Sherif). Having red as a team color can make the other team feel anxious, cause them to make more mistakes, and even feel guilt or hatred while in the game. Pink, a lighter shade of red, has a slightly different effect. Though still a shade of red, it has a dramatic difference in how it can make us feel. Pink sneaks in feeling of love, serenity, and can drain energy. Which is why often times teams paint their opponents locker rooms pink, in hopes to make them a little more relaxed and drained before games. Clothing A study at University of Rochester was done on how the color red can effect how men think of women. In the first test, they held up one of two pictures. Both were pictures of the same woman, but she was wearing red in one, and blue in the other. In the second test, they held up one of two pictures as well. The two pictures were exactly alike, but one had a red border around the picture, and the other had black. On average 85% of the men said the woman with either the red border or the red shirt was more attractive. They also said they would be willing to do more for and spend more on the woman in red (someone). This wasn't the case when asked which woman looked more intellectual. The Dangers Of Speeding Essay Did you know that in two thousand fourteen there were five thousand nine hundred and thirty three speed related accidents in the state of Kansas of which eighty were fatal? A man gets pulled over on his way to work after lunch when addressed by the delightful presence of a military police officer the cop says "good after noon I am with the fort riley military police department and I am pulling you over today for driving forty two miles per hour in a twenty five mile per hour zone. May I have your license and registration please thank you I will be right back". Now at this moment it is clear to see that the officer was doing only his job performing a normal traffic stop on a speeding automobile in traffic. Serve and protect, right? Well Serve is exactly right I will not forget my first speeding ticket on post and it will hopefully be the last. Well I guess you can say lesson learned all one hundred and seventeen dollars of it after an eighty seven dollar fine and a thirty dollar processing fee. • 21. Persuasive Essay On Texting And Driving Getting behind the wheel is so dangerous if we think about it. We are not just trusting ourselves, but everyone else on the road. We actually put ourselves at risk when we get on the roads. We all hear about drunk drivers, and the results of their actions. Deaths, accidents, regrets, but how about texting and driving? I remember several months ago, I pulled up to a stop sign, and was stopped for only about one–second. The sign was down a little hill, so it was not noticeable from the distance. As stopped, I saw in my rearview mirror, a car coming in fast, and before he could react, he slammed into the back of me. The cause of it? He was going down that road fast, and on his phone. While he was looking down on his phone, probably sending a text, he did not see the sign that advised there was a stop sign ahead. If he was not distracted, the accident could have easily been avoided. The National Safety Council reports that cell phone use while driving leads to 1.6 million crashes each year. Imagine if cell phones weren't around like years ago, these incidents would not be happening. The driver takes their eyes off the road for 10 seconds. Is that message really important of what you had to say? It is not even just messages in todays society, people especially teenagers are looking at their phone to change the songs. I am guilty for this, and I know many people who I have drove with also are. We can decrease the risk of this. The transtheorectical model is the model of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Officer Tabor Argumentative Essay On 25 March 2017, at 0220 hours in the City of Goddard, Officer Tabor was traveling Westbound at the 20000 block of West Kellogg in his patrol vehicle. As he approached 20300 West Kellogg, he decided that he would check the business lot. While slowing his vehicle and maneuvering it into the right hand turn lane, he visually saw a small sized SUV type vehicle facing South at the stop sign of Main Street and West Kellogg. While executing his right hand turn, Officer Tabor's headlights shined onto the driver's side and front interior of the vehicle stopped at the stop sign. This facilitated Officer Tabor to visually see that the driver was not wearing their safety belt and was instead leaned over the center console, presumebly looking at the cellular phone being held by the front seat passenger. As Officer Tabor continued to the Northern most part of Main Street in the City of Goddard, he noticed with the aid of his driver's side mirror that the same vehicle was still sitting at a complete stop at the stop sign of Main Street and Kellogg. This seemed to be abnormal behavior for just after two in the morning in Goddard, as the lack of traffic that time of day should not impede the entry of a vehicle onto the highway after stopping at the stop sign. • 29. Identify The Different Types Of Drivers Essay When traversing highways and interstates, people run into many different types of drivers. Those operating vehicles all fall into a certain category. Drivers, though more than likely not self–aware, have a very specific way of driving that allows them to fall into such a category; however, drivers typically do not have a problem calling out other drivers on their faults. It would almost seem that a long trip or even a quick run anywhere is really just a never ending sequence of blaring horns and screeching halts in contempt for drivers outside of one's own classification. Vehicle operators will either drive carelessly, dangerously, or carefully. Drivers can be classified into three categories: The DJ, Daredevils, and Goody Two–Shoes. The first type of driver falls into the careless category, also known as the DJ. DJs tend to blare music at deafening decibels. To maximize their disturbance, DJs also typically drive with all windows rolled down including the sunroof. If the cars immediately surrounding them are not shaking along to the beat DJs are unsatisfied. DJs are also really good at multitasking. Rather than their main focus being on the road or the surroundings, DJs' attention is on whatever handheld device they're selecting music from. Most of the time they come out alive. • 33. Persuasive Effect Of Advertising In Advertising Advertisements play a highly important role in the United States' consumerist society, as Americans are exposed to ads in nearly every form of media. Each of these ads target a different audience and have varying levels of persuasive effect. Take for example an Audi commercial that was released in 2017, where clowns drove around recklessly and created a dangerous environment for other drivers. In this commercial, different safety features of the Audi cars caused the vehicles to avoid crashes in spite of the dangerous driving around them. The content of this advertisement helps to determine the target audience: wealthy American drivers. The use of clowns within the commercial provided evidence that the ad primarily targeted American consumers, as clowns were depicted as both a symbol of humor and fear or danger. This media portrayal of clowns as a scary and dangerous symbol, along with the common childhood fear of clowns, is mostly unique to American culture. As a result, those from different countries or different cultural backgrounds would have less understanding of this advertisement. The high price for purchasing a new Audi vehicle also gave evidence that the advertisement was targeting wealthy consumers. The persuasive effect that the advertisement has on this target audience is determined by a number of message strategies used throughout the commercial. These strategies included fear appeal, appeals to positive emotion, and storytelling, with each of these strategies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Jerry Kline: A Short Story "Here we are," shouts the bus driver "Boston, Massachusetts." I slowly sit up in my seat, looking around the bus watching the other 10 gloomy passengers look out their windows waiting for the vehicle to come to a complete stop before standing up. The lights inside the bus switch on, and slowly all of us file off the bus. I walk down the bus stairs and jump onto the cracked concrete. Looking up I see a dimly lit bus stop with blank advertisement stalls and a bench that looks as if it would collapse the instant someone sat on it. I walk down the sidewalk along some apartment buildings with vines crawling up the sides of the worn brick walls. As I walk, searching for my destination, my phone rings. I look down at the name: "Jerry Kline." Dammit not again I think to myself. Just be cool. "Hello?" I answer. "Chad! About time! I've been calling you for ages!" "What? This is the first call I..." • 41. My Personal Statement On My Life It crazy how a minute detail can change the entire outcome a situation. Life has many hardships, I for one believe that it is these hardships that shapes us into what we are today. I was about ten years old but had the mentality of a four year old boy. Mostly cried when I was denied a toy or grounded for being mischievous. Like every other week I would grind my way into emotionally blackmailing my parents to allow me to go to my friends place and then go the extra mile to stay as long as possible. Every week was the same until 15 November 2005 what's especial about this week you ask well it's a week before my birthday plus the last week my parents can call themselves rich. This year I was about to turn 11 and I wanted a huge party. Well for me that was inviting all my friends to McDonalds I called it my paradise. The day before the big day my dad came to pick me up from school and as I sat in the car knowing my irrational behavior he locked the car and told me that I could not have my birthday in my paradise due to some technicality with the booking. I was furious, for me it was the end of the world I was extremely embarrassed because I had flaunted in front of everybody I made eye contact with. My friends expected those cute little cards which had a hidden clown in them that jumped out as soon as one opened it. It was like I was left at the altar. • 45. Stop Sign Sociology My main speculation from this assignment was definitely that people were much more apt to make a complete stop while being observed rather than not being observed. When people were being watched they usually stopped because someone was watching or because they wanted to see who the random person was standing at the stop sign. People that are oblivious to the fact that they are being watched are at a higher risk of rolling the stop sign or not stopping at all. Another theory I found in my research was that it really didn't matter what gender the person was. Both male and female seemed to have roughly the same percentage of stopping, rolling, and not completing the stop at all. Most of my other data is very random, the most distinct piece of ... • 61. Cause And Effect Essay On Drivers Driving Automobile accidents are a leading cause of death in the United States today. A high percentage of these accidents are caused by elderly drivers who are not fit to drive. Health issues, lack of knowledge of new driving laws, or the development of bad driving habits are some factors that contribute to this issue. However, not all older drivers are dangerous behind the wheel. Actually, many are safer drivers than their younger counterparts. They are more cautious, adapt to weather conditions better, and tend to be less distracted behind the wheel. But the government should not ignore the elderly drivers who have killed others while behind the wheel due to age related issues. Licensed drivers over the age of 65 should be required to retake their driving test every year due to health issues that come with age, updated driving laws, and bad driving habits that develop over time. Health issues that come with age can heavily affect a driver's ability to control an automobile safely. Dementia, strokes, and impaired vision are just a few examples of many health issues that cause some senior drivers to be unfit to drive. Dementia affects its victims by severely decreasing thinking skills and causing memory loss. When a stroke occurs, blood flow is cut off from the brain, which eliminates the driver's ability to control their vehicle. The chance of a stroke increases tremendously with age. From a decrease in depth perception, blurry vision, and cataracts; impaired vision can come in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. Nt1310 Unit 3 Activity 1 Summary Activity 1 presents the challenge of detecting vehicles in front of a stereo camera and determining the distance to them using stereo data. The team accomplished this by creating a disparity map from the two rectified images and then plotting a point cloud based on this data. A cascaded object detector is then used to get regions of interest (ROIs) where vehicles are in frame. These ROIs are then used to extract the depth of the vehicle in the point cloud. The result is a distance to the identified vehicle. A.1 Computer Vision Function Descriptions One frame from each camera is pulled into the program and then rectified based on calibration of each camera. The calibration process takes in the camera calibration parameters of the cameras, the rotation, and translation of the second camera in relation to the first camera. After being rectified based on the calibration, a disparity map is created. A disparity map is an intensity map that shows the measurements of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For activity 2, the frame is run through a thresholding function that creates a binary image based on the histogram levels that are similar to that of a stop sign. Any pixel that falls within the levels are then converted to a value of one and the rest are set to zero. The binary image is then put through two morphological operators, open and close. The open morphological operator gets rid of smaller clutters of pixels as defined by the parameters that are passed in to the function. The close morphological operator fills in clusters of pixels that are the shape of the parameter passed to the function. In this case, the shape is an octagon just like a stop sign. The last step is to run the binary image through blob analysis to get the ROIs that are of a specified minimum size. Once the ROIs have been found, they are passed into the cascade object detector for verification of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Valjean was convicted of stealing food at young age, but after being released from prison and rising through the ranks to become the mayor of Vigo, he finds himself being constantly pursued by one of his ex–prison guards. This man, Javert, is determined to have Valjean locked up once again. During this intense struggle, it becomes easy to see that different people from this time period decide to follow the law in different ways. Throughout this film, Jean Valjean repeatedly chooses to abide by the spirit of the law, while his sworn enemy, Javert, mercilessly enforces the letter of the law. The spirit of the law and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, when dealing with the spirit of the law, it is up to the individual to personally decide what the law's intention is and the most efficient way to maintain this goal without causing any inconvenience to the person and the people around him or her. These two different mindsets are similar in the sense that both are concerned with keeping people safe and making sure that society runs smoothly, even though the letter of the law tends to accomplish this goal in a much more strict and no–nonsense manner. In Les Misérables, Javert, the new police officer of Vigo, is the epitome of someone who chooses to live by the letter of the law. He spends most of his time dealing out harsh punishments to citizens without stopping to question whether or not his actions are right because he believes he is justified by the laws. Javert is extremely austere and always follows protocol no matter what the circumstance. Within the first five minutes of his arrival in Vigo, he has already reprimanded the Chief of Police for failing to review his papers, not because it is important, but because it is protocol. A perfect illustration of Javert's love for the law is that when he falsely discovers that Valjean was not a convict, he tells him that, "an inferior has shown a complete lack of respect for the law. He must be exposed and punished." He continues to then admit to slandering Valjean and demanding that Valjean dismisses him immediately because that is what the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He just stood there with a smile on his face barely biting his lip with happiness in his eyes. I don't think I ever seen this kind of expression on his face. I think that day his excitement was matching mine. This day was about two and a half years ago. It started out as only a normal summer day in the suburban neighborhood of sage Creek. My brother and I were upstairs that late afternoon playing a game of foosball. We got a call from our mother telling us to come downstairs quickly she hadn't been home so we knew something was up. The confusion on my face when I walked outside was priceless. Because parked there in the street was a new car, but it wasn't just any new car. It was a car that I had wanted since I got my drivers license. The sun glistened off the sapphire colored pearlescent paint job of the vehicle. It's stood tall with the 35 inch tires and 3 inch lift. It was a Jeep Wrangler (one of my dream vehicles). With the love of a father in his eyes, he stared me in mind and said "It's all your son". The blissful summer of my senior year in high school was coming to an end. It was time. My morning had begun with the usual black coffee served hot in my favorite mug depicting a cat in a fuzzy purple sweater holding its own mug of coffee. Restless butterflies in my stomach had seemingly taken over my normal appetite. In front of me rested a paper doubtlessly staring into my soul. A paper you would assume to be a third grader's due to the bullet–pointed thoughts scattered throughout in chicken scratch handwriting, but rather this paper was perhaps the most important piece of wrinkled documentation I would ever encounter. "Life Changing Instructions" was scribbled boldly at the top with an address duly following in faded pencil. 2477 Poggles Quince Lot, Charleston, South Carolina; an address belonging to my great–great–great–great–grandparents in which had been passed down through my family for generations just for this occasion. I will always remember my first experience at Poggles Quince Lot because that was the day that my imagination was truly unlocked and my future was placed in the palms of my hands. There names were Colin and Dylan and same with Tommy they were also on the football team. Cam and Brady stood on Brady's front porch wondering if they should just let them get away with it or actually be the first ones to stand up to the three Juniors. Then Brady had a flashback to when he was in the third grade and he was trick or treating. Brady was walking around the neighborhood with Cam and he could remember how exciting it was to see all of the cool costumes and the best part was all the candy he received at the end of the night. Brady remembered how important Halloween was to him as a kid so he wasn't going to let three losers ruin the kid's Halloween. With his mind made up,Brady stared at Cam letting him know he was going to stop the three boys. "John I know you're on something," said Margret in a tearful fiery rage," just tell me what it is before I lose my temper!" "Okay," I said," I'm on oxycodone." After I said that she left the room tears streaming from her face like a dam had broken. I attempted to chase after her but in my inebriated state I fell to the floor. As I lay there on the floor, I could not help but think of how Margret finally knew my problem. I flashed back to the night that I had taken my first oxy with rob and how instantly hooked I was to the substance. It made me feel so good; it took the edge off the world, took away my pain, and cancelled out everything I did not want to focus on in this cruel world. As the flash back ended I was once more staring back into Margret's eyes. "Promise me you're going to stop these drugs," she said. As the cliché of the drug addict goes I said, "I promise you Margret that I'll quit these not only for me but for you". "Okay," she said," but no more chances after this one." Without road inspections, the streets and highways would be a chaos for commuters (Ward, Otto & Linkenbach, 2014). Additional lives would be at–risk by this potential roadway hazards. Identifying potential roadway hazards timely may reduce the mortality rate (Ward, Otto & Linkenbach, 2014). The Office of Traffic Safety and other similar agencies are working diligently to develop a remedial measure to save drivers' lives (DOT, 2011). The safety inspector examines the highways, construction signs, bridges, and obstructions that may block the motorists' view (DOT, 2011). The State of Minnesota is vulnerable to various potential hazards. These hazards are associated with man–made and natural disasters that threatens the loss of life and property. Obtaining a license gives a teenager freedom and a newfound sense of independence because they are no longer at their parents' mercy and can drive themselves. However, becoming a skillful and master driver is so important, rather than just getting a driver 's license. A master driver is someone who is truly aware of the dangers associated with driving, and he or she knows how to handle them in an effective manner. Every year countless accidents occur by reckless drivers, which leads to numerous deaths. I believe everyone can become a master driver just by following basic driving rules. I will define a master driver who has four qualities: a master driver always obeys traffic rules, a master driver always cares about his safety and others, a master driver always wears a seat belt and ask others to do the same, and a master driver always scans his surroundings. First of all, in order to become a master drive an individual needs to obey all traffic rules and regulations. Most accidents occur because some drivers fail to recognize, respect, and obey some important traffic signs and road markings. There are important requirements to be a safe and responsible driver. • 101. Excessive Driving : The Dangers Of Driving Drivers Beware There was a time when getting a driver's license meant the right to own a car. And a car was a symbol of freedom which left its owner endless opportunities to cruise their towns, to take in the scenery, and to meet people. Now, vehicles are merely a means of transportation, getting the driver from point A to point B as quickly as possible, and with little regard for other people on the road. Today's drivers exhibit many dangerous habits that are causing increasingly hazardous road conditions for everyone, such as impatient decision–making, distracted driving, and intentional recklessness. Being in a hurry while operating a car leads to selfish and impatient choices that result in automobile accidents, or even worse, needless deaths. Drivers who approach a stop sign and don't come to a complete stop are not leaving themselves enough time to see other cars that might be entering the intersection. Furthermore, a rolling stop is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians or cyclist who aren't able to move quickly enough to avoid a car. Impatience leads to aggressive tendencies and can cause unnecessary hostility between drivers. For example, honking a car's horn at another driver for not accelerating at a light change fast enough can lead to road rage incidents. Excessive lane changes are another form of aggressive driving, and this move prevents other drivers from being able to keep a safe distance, which increases the chances of a collision. Lastly, drivers who are in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely introducing the term "stop sign" into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had actually seen. Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term "yield sign" in questions directed to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered participants' memories." (STANFORD JOURNAL). Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is "the process of interpretation that occurs at the very formation of memory–thus introducing distortion from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers." (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our memory can be affected by us ... • 134. Personal Narrative Essay : The Day Of A Spring Day It was a warm spring day. I woke up to my mom opening my curtains saying that "I need to get up and not sleep all day." The sunlight blinded me at first then my eyes started to adjust. I slowly rolled over and grabbed my phone. It was almost noon and I was supposed to get up around ten. I turned my ceiling fan light on and got out of bed and got ready for the day. I opened up my door and I heard everyone in the house yelling. I walked to the bathroom down the hall and hopped in the shower. The hot water instantly woke me rest of the way up. After my Shower, I was getting dressed and like always I could not find my socks. After about ten minutes a pair finally popped up. I slid my shoes on walked out the door and hopped in my truck and started driving. I got to the stop sign at the corner of my street and called my friend Jason to see if he wanted to hang out. He said to "come by my mom's house to pick him up." I turned down his street and seen him in the middle of the road flipping me off as I pulled up. He kept standing in my way so I lightly bumped him with my truck. "He lost his balance and fell to the ground when he got back up he was banging on my window asking what that was for." He got in my truck and asked: "what are we going to do?" I said we were going to Chris's and hang out there for the day. Once we pulled into his driveway we saw him walk out onto his porch to wait for us to walk up. We told him we were bored so we came over to chill. He said ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Problems Are Not Stop Signs Problems Are Not Stop Signs, They Are Guidelines My family once said, "Sometimes the bad things our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen." Dilemmas that have occurred in my life have led me to where I am now and where I will be in the future. Thinking and wanting to become an RN was not exactly what my 18 year old self thought I would be interested in doing, but the past has changed my desire to make change in my career choice, which consisted of just being a nurse. Since I was young I have observed many struggles that occurred in my family; the main struggle was how to get through life one day at a time. My mother never graduated from high school, since she gave birth to me and my sister. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is most definitely not the case. I have manifested that perception is in the wrong. My grandparents have always been strict on me regarding graduating from high school and proceeding to college. • 146. Creating False Memory, By Elizabeth Loftus False memory refers to a phenomenon that makes an individual believe that they remember events in their lives but in real sense, these events have never occurred. In most cases, these events are traumatic, and relate to sexual abuse. False memory syndrome was postulated in 1992 in an attempt to explain the theory of adult childhood memory. Adults who remember sexual abuse events when they were young may be creating an occurrence that never happened or information that is not correct. Synopsis Nadean Cool attended therapeutic sessions with the hope of modifying her reaction to the shocking events of her daughter. The therapist misguided her. The therapist convinced her that her current response was a result of past involvement with a satanic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Loftus argues that people can be shaped to remember their past in different ways. She used a study about getting lost in a Mall to show that individuals can be prompted to recollect the whole events that occurred to them (Loftus 74). Imagination can also create a false memory of an occurrence that never happened. Loftus and her colleagues requested the participant to record on a scale the possibility of the forty events named occurred in their childhood. After two weeks, they were allowed to imagine some of the occurrences they had said never happened in their childhood. They were asked to rate the events again. Individuals, who participated in the imagining test, became convinced that the incident happened (Loftus 75). In summary, the discussion about the false memory syndrome is far from being complete. False memory syndrome makes it difficult to judge the viability of an event and is very hard to banish from ones memory. A small false creation embeds in the mind for a very long time. Once an individual creates a false memory, it becomes part and parcel of his or her life. Therapeutic sessions should be taken with care so as to reduce false memory implanted to reduce ... • 150. Police Brutality in Anywhere, USA Essay After our marching band's performance at a football game was cancelled because of lightning, about six or seven of the band members (including a few student leaders) sat around shooting the breeze, not fighting, not smoking, not drinking, not being loud. An unmarked police car rolled up and our conversation stopped as we turned our attention to him. In an acrid and condescending tone, the policeman pointed a finger to the exit of the parking lot and said, "Out." "Okay, just give us a moment to figure out what we can do," we replied. We wondered if Friendly's was still open, and asked the officer, who gave us a cold look. "You can get out now, or in 20 minutes I can start writing tickets for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My friend and I, both student leaders, got out of the car to address the situation. The officer, frantic and quite enraged at his own idiocy, pointed a menacing finger at me, "Let me see your ID." "Why do want to see my ID?" I asked, because I was the passenger. "Let me see your ID!" he demanded. I asked why again, reminding him that it was a legitimate question. Getting the same non–answer, I started to hand him my license. He all but ripped it from my hand.
  • 151. "And may I have your name?" I asked. He is Detective X. "A fine representation of the Marching Knights you are!" he yelled. I must have missed the meeting that decided nothing cordial will be said by, and no questions will be asked of, an officer of the law. Even though my parents pay him his salary, he is above acting like a decent human being. His last name sounded familiar. I should have known better than to ask if I knew his son. The officer's eyes widened and he yelled, "You leave my family out of this!" I guess that was his way of saying yes. As three more police cars showed up, Officer X instructed everyone to go home except for me and my friend. He said he knew everyone had junior licenses and would be out past curfew, when actually the only one who did was rear–ended by a cop, which caused him to stay out way past curfew (nice irony). • 155. Driving And The Driving Of Driving Essay I've always been fascinated with cars and being able to drive, different styles of cars and how each one was different. I wanted to drive them all. I often found myself using the internet to try and see what car I would have when I was able to finally drive. So many different cars from all over the world but learning to drive never changes. I am not a very good driver to begin with and accidents happen easily, I mean how many times have accidents scared you? There is only one way to drive, safely and cautiously. I remember the first time I drove, it was wise to stay indoors because I went over the curbs on the street. My driving was equivalent to an old blind man learning to drive. Being guided didn't seem to be the best way to learn, I needed the experience, I needed to feel the car. When it all began I started learning with a friend, yes it may have been illegal to drive without a permit but I got more progress done then driving with a family member. Usually everybody learns from their guardian or an elder but in my case and maybe others, family is not the best way to go when wanting to learn to drive. Learning with my friend was calming and comfortable, I felt less pressure instead of my mother who would probably be screaming of terror or nervousness. The screaming only scared me more and made me feel more pressure to do better. She constantly tried to keep her hands close to the wheel "just in case something happened". I had to only be going about 15mph before I was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
