1. Los Ojos Negro Analysis
Los Ojos Negros
At this precise moment I am sitting in front of my laptop, scared out of my mind knowing that at
any moment it could be my last. All I wanted to do was be a good friend, but look now where that
has lead me. It may not make sense at this precise moment, but let me explain. It all started this
morning when a friend of mine called me his voice filled with fear as if he had seen something so
horrific that his words were slurred. At that moment I asked what had happened and he told me this
horrific story:
His grandma and he were at the hospital in Mexico that night. His grandpa was not feeling well that
night. His grandma was in the waiting room awaiting good news when a man stumbled through the
entrance. He was screaming in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

great was her desire to obliterate the men and women, that she returned from the dead as a vengeful

human", the man had told my friends grandma. She has cold black eyes that weep blood; she walks
without ever actually seeming to move anywhere. She stalks her victims like an animal. Pursing
them to their homes where she tears your heart out of your chest. She takes your teeth which she
will polish and keep as a memory. No matter where you go or run she will find you; she is faster
than any mortal. With his head in his hands the man explained that Los Ojos Negros follows you
until you tell someone else about it. Two days later my friend got home after school, he found his
front door wide open. As he walked inside he saw a trail of blood leading to the kitchen. There on
the floor was his grandma; she had been torn limb to limb. That's when my friend called me, he
came over a little while later, and I could hardly believe it. It all seemed too far–fetched. But before

This paper will synthesize in groups, topics and subtopics of articles previously used in week four
and five of this course. These articles are about conflict management styles in various organizations
using Nigeria as a case study. The authors Kaban & Conar (2012) wrote this article "Conflict
Management and Visionary Leadership" to find efficient conflict measures to resolve conflict
without harming institution targets and activities. Prause and Mujtab (2015) looked into the current
"Current Management Practice in diverse workplace" with the purpose of finding best conflict
management style. Rahim (2002) researched on "Toward a Theory of Managing Organizational
Conflict". Alabi (2010) studied "Management of Conflicts and Crises in Nigeria: Education
Planner's View" while Akintayo (2012) researched on the "Influence of Management Style on
Conflict Effectiveness in Work Organization South–Western Nigeria" with the purpose of
ascertaining the relative impact of managerial strategy on conflict resolution effectiveness towards
ensuring sustainable organizational peace. However, each of the authors presents a conflict style to
control crises in the organization. According to the authors there are many sources of organizational
conflict in Nigeria; however this situation presents great challenges on CEOs' on applicable

Impact Assessment Of Corporate Culture On Employee Job Performance
Olu Ojo
Abstract
This research study assesses empirically the impact of corporate culture on employee job
performance as well as organisational productivity using Nigerian banking industry as the case
study. We try to ascertain if organizational culture affects employee job performance, and to
formulate recommendations regarding corporate culture and employee job performance. In order to
achieve the above objectives, the following research questions were asked: Does corporate culture
have any effect on employee job performance? And in what way does corporate culture impacts
employee job performance? Two hypotheses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The empirical evidences emerging from various studies about the effect of corporate culture on
performance have so far yielded mixed results that are inconclusive and contradictory. Because of
these contradictory results, the question of whether corporate culture improves or worsens
employee's performance is still worthy of further research such as the one being undertaken in this
study. In addition, despite the existence of these studies, very little attention has been given to the
banking industry. This means that the impact of corporate culture on employee's performance in the
banking industry has not received adequate research attention in Nigeria. Thus, there is a major gap
in the relevant literature on Nigeria, which has to be covered by research. This research attempts to
fill this gap by studying the situation of the Nigerian banking industry and providing more empirical
evidence on the effects of corporate culture on employee job performance based on individual bank–
level data.
Literature Review
Organizational culture has been defined as the "normative glue" that holds an organization together
(Tichy, 1982). Forehand and von Gilmer (1964) suggest that culture is the set of characteristics that
describe an organization and distinguish it from others. Schein (1990), in a more comprehensive
fashion, defines culture as values and behaviors that are believed to
8. Black Magic History
Black magic's influence within African cultures is no surprise when taking a look at the culture
itself. Known as Vodou in Haiti, which later evolved into the practice known as Voodoo in the
United States, along with Conjuring, also known as the practice of Hoodoo which evolved from
West African countries such as Ghana, the practice of black magic persistently played a role in
African culture constantly following the dispersal of Africans worldwide throughout the past
centuries. Throughout a multitude of societies in the world, specifically places with backgrounds
connecting to African heritage, it is evident that forms of black magic have played a role in their
past. While examining the history and trade of black magic through a multitude ... Show more

During the time of slavery, the practice of black magic in the form of voodoo grew drastically in
popularity. With an unembellished resemblance to the African heritage of the practice, the influence
of voodoo resonated greatly with African Americans as they began to navigate their roles within the
new world. The institution of this practice "created a climate in which voodoo flourished"
(Brouillette). In addition to the noticed acceptance of black magic that Brouillette shows, it is
evident in the article "Perceptions of New Orleans Voodoo: "Sin, Fraud, Entertainment, and
Religion" that the practice did more than just provide the African American culture with a
connection to its heritage: "Voodoo was accepted as a legitimate religion" (Long). The article by
Alison Brouillette portrays the practice of Voodoo as "the African practice of worshipping the devil

10. A Lexical Pragmatic Analysis of Proverbs in Femi...
This essay is a pragmatic reading of moral and socio–political decadence in Femi Osofisan's
Midnight Hotel. It does this by analyzing ten out of twenty–five proverbs deployed in the text. In
analyzing the proverbs, this essay observes that each has at least an ad hoc constituent which
requires semantic modulation to get at the meanings of the proverbs. This modulation is not
arbitrary, but contextually negotiated until the reader reaches his optimal relevance.
Wilson and Carston argue that metaphors are cases of ad hoc constructions (7), for instance, when a
speaker says, 'The boy is a lion'. While a literary scholar would see this as metaphorical, Wilson and
Carston believe that the above sentence is a case of the use of an ad hoc ... Show more content on

One of such is with Ossie Onuorah Enekwe where he says that:
To get desperately close to the spectator, to each and every one I have trapped in the darkness or half
light, to penetrate very close and intimate, like a knife in the ribs. I want to make that spectator
happy but uncomfortable. I want to turn him open, guts and all, spice him, cook him in the filthy,
stinking broil of our history. I want him washed inside out, in the naked truth, and then I sew him
back again a different man. (18)
The playwright's closeness to a reader of Midnight Hotel is predicated on the contemporary subject
matters raised in the text. It is true the essence of the play is to effect a social change (as it is with
most literary works), but this change cannot occur if the reader finds it difficult to comprehend what
the text says. Thus this essay lends a hand in that direction, by working out an easy, systematic,
pragmatic format for understanding Osofisan's Midnight Hotel.
Commenting on the playwright's art, Awodiya submits that "Osofisan is prolific and theatrically
fertile in creating flexible dramatic forms that have great stage adaptability" (15). Awodiya further
notes Osofisan's penchant for invoking traditional African elements of music, dance, songs, mime
and improvisation (15). One of such is proverbs with which he attaches the African sense. Awodiya
acknowledges that

Heritage Assessment
Heritage is who we are, where we come from, it's our history. Traditionally the word heritage means
one back ground or tradition. Each individual's heritage varies between different cultures and
consists of determination of one's ethnic, religious, and cultural background (Spector, 2009). The
heritage assessment tool helps healthcare professionals evaluate someone's physical, mental, and
spiritual beliefs which in turn helps with determining traditional health methods such as health
maintenance, health protection, and health restoration. It also helps in opening a pathway for
effective communication between the patient and health care provider to understand ones culture,

Some believe illness comes from Satan and not living according to God's will. The Chinese culture
puts little emphasis on individual feelings and a lot of emphasis on family devotion and loyalty. A
like with the Hispanic culture, when making decisions about health care the whole family is usually
involved. Religion and traditions are very important in the Chinese culture. They will usually follow
in their ancestors footsteps. Health protection deals with how one maintains and protects their health
on a daily basis (Spector, 2009). Many cultures have their own rituals and beliefs they adhere to, to
help protect their health. Hispanics believe in an imbalance between hot and cold as a sign of illness.
In the event there is a disturbance they believe "Pasmo" could happen which is paralysis of the face
or limbs due to the disturbance of the imbalance. Hot illnesses such as diarrhea or a rash should be
treated with cold remedies, and cold illnesses with hot remedies such as penicillin. Another view is
that cold should be avoided after extremely hot experiences. For example after cooking, intense
ironing, or drinking hot coffee or tea one should avoid going into cold air avoid getting sick.
Hispanics also believe in "Mal de ojo" or the evil eye. The evil eye is excessive amount of
adoration. For instance if a child is complimented by an individual for being beautiful they can

authors mentioned few studies that contradicted their opinion and they even mentioned the reasons
why people continue to smoke after the patients being supported through counseling. However, I

what the negative effects of bupropion and other pharmacotherapies drugs are, and more research

And nowhere is this more evident than in her album Laundry Service (Servicio de Lavanderia).
Recorded almost entirely in English, Laundry Service is often categorized as Shakira's crossover

lyrics to each song herself, Shakira's intense approach to the album's English language was
interpreted as a sign of her dedication to producing and recording for English listeners . However, a

"Ojos Así" was released significantly before Shakira achieved international status, but it continues to
make appearances on her tours and performances, serving as a marker for Shakira and her image . It
would be easy to classify "Ojos Así" as yet another example of Shakira's exploration of her multiple
heritages, but such a designation is too simplistic. "Ojos Así" is not only a turning point in Shakira's
identity exploration, it also represents the creative entry point for her global citizenship. In its
simplest form, global citizenship presents a utopian view of organizing the political, social, and
economic segments of society by placing equal value and appreciation for all cultures and peoples
of the world. A global citizen places their self–association within a larger global community rather
than with any particular nation–state or region . For Shakira, global citizenship provides her with the
ability to cross borders and transcend linguistic and cultural barriers. Her performances resonate
with peoples from all backgrounds, nations, and heritages whether or not they can understand what
she is saying because she is seen as a member of a larger global community that belongs to
everyone. In many ways, it also shields her from criticism when she associates herself with cultures
that she has no direct relation with; she is not seen as appropriating musical cultures, rather she is
seen as recognizing their value on an egalitarian global

Although Sheri carefully articulated her wishes for end of life care, she ended up in a circumstance
all too common for people with dementia. There is a limbo for dementia patients; where their
decision making for end of life care "typically lies between the last opportunity to act decisively and
the time when dementia's severity is deemed to make death preferable." (Menzel and Chandler–

Introduction
Juvenile delinquency is becoming one of the largest problems facing society, due to the fact that
there are many different factors; from parental factors to bullying or being bullied at school.
Juvenile delinquency is somewhat a very complicated problem that is sometimes very difficult to
understand and to explain, part of the reasons for all of this may be that it shares a relationship with
many social institutions, from law enforcement to juvenile and adult court to the media, families as
well as schools (Brown 1998). It is very wrong to say that it exists in its own bubble, it stands alone
or that it has no connections to other components of the society and also that it is a problem that can
easily be fixed.

Jones (2008) goes on to further explain that individuals will look for type of reactions that their

the person may become a social outcast and they may start to rebel in order to live up to the label
that they are identified as.
In his own opinion Walklate(2003) says that labelling theorists say that male children from poor

Improvements in reliability of corporate revelation minimize the threat that an investor or a creditor
will make poor decision if the information which is provided to them is inaccurate. The threat that is
mentioned above is the information risk, that is present everytime creditors or investors use
information to assess economic risk of any potential investments. The better the quality of the
information, the better chances these users making the right decisions. It means the information risk
is lower (Elliott and Jacobson, 1998).
Moreover, when investors and creditors make preferable decisions on capital allocation for their
self–interest, capital flows more freely to the most fruitful business entities, increasing economic
growth, jobs and standard of living. Those are considered as social benefits from effective capital

At the start of the story, her character is shrouded in mystery. The fact that she named herself and
travels the land selling words does not give much away about her. This is due to the fact that the
reader has only heard of Belisa and has no interactions to base opinions on. Upon further reading,
Allende begins to depict Belisa's horrific background and tells of how she became what and who she
is. At this point it becomes apparent to the reader that she indeed possesses two important traits in
abundance –+: determination and stubbornness. It is with these characteristics that she decided not
to succumb to the same fate as her brothers and sisters. Belisa's interactions with the coronel , the
way she uses her gift with words to make him loved and the manner in which she curses him with
just two words , sum up her character. This again supports the paradoxical theory that Belisa is both
straightforward and highly complex. From one point of view she is simply a highly skilled
wordsmith, capable of engaging all audiences, perhaps only because of her knowledge and
exemplary use of words. The contrasting point of view is that Belisa Crepusculario possesses a
certain, almost otherworldly power. It is hard to completely summarize the character of Belisa,

36. Argument Against The Wisconsin Labor Relations Board
In a large suburban high school in Wisconsin, a teacher has been dismissed for his actions that put
students in danger in the eyes of the administration and school board. The teacher has appealed the
decision with the Wisconsin Labor Relations Board (WLRB) and has won his appeal. This means
the teacher will be returning to work with back pay. After winning his appeals case said teacher has
sued the district in federal court for wrongful dismissal as a violation of his civil rights. He has
asked for $500,000 and won the case being awarded the amount of $5,000. Throughout this report
we will take a look back at the entire situations and discuss alternatives to what could have been
done. (Teacher Dismissal For Cause)
Case Narrative
Bruce Ojos, first year principal at said Wisconsin high school is contacted by local police chief to
inform him that a group of students have been arrested and taken down to the station after a near
fatal event at the local park. Police were contacted when reports were made that "there were men
dressed in fatigues and armed with automatic rifles stationed at the top of a town hill. When the
police arrived at the site with their guns drawn and demanded that the men drop their weapons. The
"men" just laughed. The officers pressed their demand, circled the hill, and aimed at them. At that
point, the men dropped what turned out to be toy AK47s and hit the ground as instructed. The "men"
were students." (Teacher Dismissal For Cause) Upon arrive at the

38. The Practices Of Managing Culture Since The Post...
The practices in managing culture have changed in the post–bureaucratic era. In this essay, I intend
to argue that from a time of structured bureaucracy to an aeon of flexibility and the stripping down
of hierarchical order, the principles in managing culture have evolved. Nevertheless, as practices
have changed, the results are analogous in that culture is developed in order to control an
organisation. Organisation culture is the deep, normal assumptions, beliefs, and shared values that
delineate organizational membership (Clegg et. al. 2011). I altercate that an enjoyable and gratifying
culture has become a foundation for individual satisfaction and contentment, ultimately leading to
workplace efficiency and productivity. I will validate this in Section one by reconnoitering on
Fredrickson (2003) and comparing it to Sudnow (1967). Conversely, a free form culture is still
delimited by control and bureaucracy within and this is demonstrated by Rosen (1988) and Parker
(1992) in Section two. In the final section, with Ojo (2010), I will exemplify how in the post–
bureaucratic period, there is an imperative liaison between organisation culture and performance. A
culture, which allows for organisation members to feel comfortable and exultant, can be seen as
more successful in generating better results for the organisation in the post bureaucratic epoch. This
is reinforced by Fredrickson (2003) who articulates that when organisation members feel the joy,
gratitude and positivity

4 COLOR AVAILABILITY ANALYSIS
The analysis requires the layer's parts that share vertices, or are directly connected, be color
synchronized. All the layer's parts form a tree and by traversing them sequentially their color
synchronization is elementary.
The Color AVailability Analysis (CAVA) analysis assumes the top rim Rx is to be colored with Hx+
while its sub–rim(s) Ry vertices have already been colored with Hy+ colors and color synchronized.
The analysis verifies whether Rx vertices can be colored without color modification in the Ry
vertices.
The Rx and Ry rims and the edges connecting them form G2TR graph. The diagonals of the sub–
layer Ly are excluded from G2TR graph and thus are not relevant to the analysis.

Color

50. Why Is It Important As A Health Professional?
1. Define and differentiate between the terms ethnocentrism, assimilation, acculturation, and cultural
competency. Why is it important as a health professional to have a clear understanding of these
terms? Ethnocentrism is a condition by which an individual of one ethnic has an attitude of
superiority toward members of other ethnic groups. Assimilation is a process that is closely related
to acculturation, it is a process by which a member of a nondominant cultural group merge into the
dominant cultural group. Acculturation is a process by which an individual from one culture has
given up the traits of that culture and adopted the traits of the dominant culture in which he or she
now resides. Cultural competency can be defined as the combination of a body of knowledge, a
body of belief and a body of behavior. It includes a number of elements such as personal
identification, language, thoughts, communications, customs, beliefs, values, and institutions that
are often specific to ethnic, racial, religious, geographic, or social groups. As a health professional it
is very important to have a clear understanding of these terms because these terms can help the

The changes are being considered by the government might remove the perceptions that relationship
between auditors and organizations are too cosy. Furthermore, the scandal of Enron–Andersen
pushed the stock market down, for this reason, it signals the importance of auditor's independence to
a business (McCurry, 2002). In the past few years, there has been a growing trend towards the audit
liability, but the fact remains that lots of works and improvements on audit independence have been
carried out over the years. In addition, there should be a continuous procedure of criticism and
further efforts aimed at the improvements of audit independence. For this reason, independence has
been a quite important field, more than audit liability (Ojo, 2006). In conclusion, audit independence
is and will continually be an essential component to credibility to external audit, as a monitoring
instrument (Sucher and Bychkova, 2001). It is recommended that audit independence should be
justified through its compliance with standards and ethical guidelines. Thus, independent body like
APB in UK or ISB in US should be given more accountability to monitor auditors' activities,
develop standards or guidelines which are relevant to independence, ensure compliance with
standards and conduct investigations or researchs to study areas pertaining to auditor's motivation

nitrogenous products such as ammonia, nitrate and nitrite. These products in high levels can cause
severe stress while slightly elevated levels can contribute to chronic stress (Ferner, 2001).
Overcrowding also causes Social hierarchies to form within the fish. This leads to harassment,

Improper salinity levels mean more energy expended by the fish to maintain osmotic homeostasis.
Atlantic salmon lives within very specific salinity levels in their saltwater phase. According to
Foster and Smith, their bodies work hard to maintain the osmotic gradient between themselves and
the environment in which they are occurring. If their environmental salinity is not specific to their
needs and is not held at a steady level, they have to work harder to maintain their osmotic gradient,
which generates chronic stress. Salinity is closely connected with other biological Factors. For
instance, during the parr–smolt transformation there is an increased production of cortisol which
helps the fish in the transition. This is an important hormone in the smoltification process, but it also
affects the immune response. Spawning fish are also in the throes of major hormonal changes and

The Second Amendment
One of the most controversial aspects of the American constitution is the Second
Amendment; this is the Amendment that is used as the basis for each American having the right to
bear arms. It has certainly been a subject of conversation in the US; proponents argue that no one
has the authority to take that right away from US citizens while opponents asking for an amendment
that would allow the amendment to acclimate to current realities of the 21st century (Levintova,
2014). To understand the problem with the second amendment, one has to go back to the origin of
the said law; the bill of rights was first created in 1789 along with the first ten amendments, to
understand the intent of the authors of said amendments.
The bill of rights was first introduced to allow states to have their own armed militias, the emphasis
in the letter of the amendment emphasized on a "well–regulated militia." The amendments came at a
time where the states wanted to have a mechanism through which to safeguard their citizens from
the excesses of the federal government; this should not be confused with the National Guard, the
latter was not yet in existence (Levintova, 2014). Eventually, the federal government passed an Act

changing its treatment to woman or not, and why nowadays the majority of the artistic feminist

In order to carry out these objectives , the essay will show a comparison between two feminist

A 24–month–old boy was brought to the Naval Medical Center with a 2 week history of a growing,
painless scrotal mass and difficulty urinating. After physical examination and undergoing biopsy the
mass was identified as embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. A bone marrow biopsy was positive for
tumor and the computed tomography (CT) of the chest, abdomen and pelvis were positive for
metastatic disease. In order to maximize tumor control it was necessary for the patient to
immediately begin multimodality therapy. Although rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a well–known
pediatric malignancy in the United States, the cancer is still considered rare and the parents of the
patient required further education.
Rhabdomyosarcoma is a tumor of undifferentiated skeletal muscle and is considered to be the most
common soft tissue sarcoma in children, representing 3% of all pediatric malignancies in the United
States (Ojo, Chen, Pelaez, & Younis, 2014). RMS is more common in Caucasians than African
Americans (3:1) and in males than females (1.5:1) (Wang, 2011). In order to accurately diagnose
rhabdomyosarcoma a thorough clinical workup is performed. The workup begins with a clinical
examination and history, where gathering information such as family history of genetic syndromes,
associated conditions and signs and symptoms are crucial. Research has revealed negative

73. How Cancer Affects Individuals From All Backgrounds
Rhabdomyosarcoma
Introduction
Cancer affects individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of class, age, gender or ethnicity. It is
known to be the leading cause of death in many countries (World Health Organization, 2013).
According to the Canadian Cancer Society (2013) approximately half of all Canadians will develop
cancer at some point during their lifetime. There are many different types of cancers affecting
various regions of the body. A sarcoma is one classification of cancer that arises from connective
tissues present in the body including bone, fat, muscles, blood vessels or the linings of joints
(American Cancer Society, 2014). Rhabdomyosarcoma is defined as a cancerous tumor of
undifferentiated skeletal muscle, and generally involves regions of the head and neck (Ojo, Si,
Pelaez, & Younis, 2014). Rhabdomyosarcoma can be classified into three main types: embryonal,
alveolar and anaplastic (Kikuchi et al., 2013). The purpose of this paper is to explore the disease
process of rhabdomyosarcoma and analyze the findings relative to nursing practice.
Overview of Rhabdomyosarcoma Rhabdomyosarcoma is an awfully common childhood and
adolescent sarcoma characterized by skeletal muscle differentiation (Carroll & Nodit, 2013).

summarizes the whole point of the article. The study shows the data of people who took bupropion
as a smoking cessation drug, people who didn't take any pharmacotherapy drug, and people who
were motivated or individually counselled alongside the use of bupropion. The data clearly points
out how significant the pharmacotherapy drugs are to COPD patients. Thus, it proves that the
combination of the drug with motivation is the best smoking cessation aid. The study also shows the
data of people having COPD who claimed to be healthy individuals, yet were dying internally; thus,
showing us that smoking cessation strategies needs attention and should be

77. Sample Essay : La Sibila
RECUPERACION DEL INFORME: LA SIBILA
Capitulo 1.
¿Acaso

79. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Water Fluoridation
WATER FLUORIDATION: – A high degree of reduction in caries/ tooth decay occur when fluoride
content is approximately IPPM (i.e. one part of fluoride to one million part of water), the prevalence
of oral fluorosis increase greatly when the concentration of fluoride is more than 1pm. Therefore,
the optimal concentration of community fluoridation is 1pm. The very first community water
fluoridation was in Grand Rapids in USA in 1945 and these produced a reduction in caries between
40–50% in deciduous teeth while in permanent dentition is 50–60%. Apart from caries reduction,
there is also a slower rate of progression of caries lesion less involvement of oral pulp. Many more
people have caries free teeth or dentition. It was noticed that these four differences occur and its
lifelong protection for the water fluoridation is interrupted the caries protective effect is diminished.
Drinking habits are affected by temperature and failure to make adjustment for this many result in
increasing incidence in fluorosis in one climate. To achieve maximum protection for both primary
and secondary teeth, the consumption of fluoridated water is essential as it acts directly as topical
agent as well as systematically during teeth formation. Proximal and surfaces are more protected
than pits fissures. ADVANTAGE OF WATER FLUORIDATION (WHO 1984):– The major
advantage of water fluoridation is that apart from school (students) the entire community benefits
adequately irrespective of age,
