It had been quite some time since I'd been anything but the driver, it was... nice, and it felt good to just put the seat back and be a passenger as the
Sister drove through the city. It was relaxing, and quiet, with none of the rage–inducing stupidity I'd experienced whenever commuting. Although, it
might have been more enjoyable were the Sister not insistent on making conversation. Unfortunately for her, the topics were ones that I'd just rather
not get involved with.
"'Additionally, Misaka 10091 has been most insistent as she has come to the deluded conclusion that by receiving a piece of jewelry from the Boy she

thing, you and the other Misaka's have going on with the boy."
Another pregnant silence descended on the van as the Sister came to a stop at a busy intersection.
"'I see and I apologize,'" she finally said, "Misaka simply assumed that because she and several others went through a great deal of effort to acquire
objects for your dormitory that you would be more conducive to assisting her in this relatively minor matter. It seems she was mistaken."
I blinked and playing her words back a kernel of guilt seeded itself in my guts. She was doing it on purpose. I knew it she was doing it on purpose–
she'd said so herself –but... I sighed in resignation and sank back into the seat. Probably should have figured one of them would get to me, though,
especially considering how often they guilted their 'Big Sister'. "Fine. I'll tell you what I was planning to tell Mikoto, is that acceptable?"
"Yes. However, Misaka does request Aka refrains from giving the same advice for as long as she can."
Not give the same advice? Oh. The competitiveness. I could just see it: Misaka sees other Sister barely hanging onto a cliff. Sister uses (Stomp on
Fingers)... It's super effective! 'Long live the king.'
I shook my head at the silly visual despite knowing it probably wasn't too far off the mark. "Sure. Well... basically, the best thing you can do is to keep
things simple. I'm not say to be blatant or excessive in conveying your affection for him, but don't bother using subtlety. Teenage

Throughout this course, I've definitely seen an entirely different side of myself. I've become aware of my strengths and characteristics that I never
knew I really had. I started to see myself more positively and that I am worth it.
It's so interesting to learn that these beliefs about ourselves, continue to linger in our minds and impact you unconsciously on the daily. Learning this
made me realized that I too had this doubt about myself, which has unfortunately influenced my choices on the regular. There are moments where I stop
and immediately backtrack from a new opportunity because I still have that distrust that never went away.

Billy Collins Poetry Analysis
The beautiful thing about poetry is that it can be written in so many forms, about numerous topics and can have its own personalized sound. Billy
Collins brings poetry to life in a simple and fun way that many poets never accomplish. It is obvious in the "Introduction to Poetry," he is emphasizing
the need for people to look into poetry in a different light and divulge into the true meaning instead of reading it in such a surface manner or over
analyzing it. His work highlights the use of imagery bringing the words to life on the page, encouraging the reader to take it easy and enjoy the words of
the poetry. His journey as U.S. Poet Laureate lead to students across America having access to a poem per day being shared at school, enhancing the
knowledge and desire for poetry across the nation (Collins, "Poetry 180"). Although Collins' approach to poetry was unconventional and focused on
experience, he allows readers everywhere to feel his words – tangible and full of life. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Collins served as U.S. Laureate, where
his work lead to his involvement in the 180 project, creating an avenue for all students to enjoy a poem a day, whether it be read verbally or to
themselves, one would be provided for each school day to help bridge the gap in the generations with poetry (Collins, poetryfoundation.org). He
clearly wanted to help give readers everywhere a new perspective on poetry, especially the younger crowd that was school–age. He writes, "Poems can

Station 43: A Short Story
Station 43 was positioned on what was once the east coast, well it was still the east coast, only different. It had been different ever since the virus of
2016 wiped out two thirds of the population leaving families desperate for hope. Hope would not come in a vaccine, and my story is not about a
virus. The virus was only the breeding ground for Torque to offer a new kind of hope.
People were desperate during those days with caused a drug epidemic of epic proportion. Street drugs caused more damage than any virus ever
could. People with an addictive personality wanted a way to cope with life, to cope with the loss of loved ones due to illness, the loss of our
government, and the loss of structure causing them to seek any quick fix.
My father was one of those people. After my mother died, well, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

"No, but I have heard them whisper," I returned. Black Widows was what the rebels called the ones who volunteered to take our donations. The rebels

If you were smart, you avoided the shadow rebels.
New girls laugh was like a musical instrument, causing sweet vibrations to skid along my spine. "I am not a Black Widow," she said. She wiggled her

The odor of rubbing alcohol stung my nostrils as she soaked a cotton swab with it. New girl wore latex gloves. She ripped open a package and
prepared the syringe, her eyes cast downward. "By the way, you said pretty," she added fixated on what she was doing, her contribution to The Station

(2010 movie) Deviance is an unavoidable part of human nature, and as such, is a fascinating and essential social phenomenon to study. The film Easy

recognisable in this film. It demonstrates clearly the motivations behind how primary deviance leads to secondary deviance. The text raises the theories

Although this isn 't her true personality, Olive feels validated – she has an identity. Therefore, social exclusion is a motivating factor for Olive to turn to
deviance. However, she isn 't the only character to do so. Olive first lies about losing her virginity to her best friend, but the first real deviant act
comes when she and her gay friend Brandon deceive the whole school. Olive quickly gains popularity when most of the student body witnesses,
from the other side of the door, her having sex at a party with a boy from school. Little does everyone know that it is all a ruse to get them to think
that Brandon, her fake sex partner, is not gay in hopes that this very public display of sexual activity will prevent daily beatings at school and it
works! (Perry et al., 2011) Being an openly gay student in high school, Brandon is subjected to torment, discrimination and marginalisation. Consistent
deviance often leads to marginalisation, and gender deviance is a prime example. Brandon was beat up at school and rejected by friends. Gay
individuals have long been marginalised by not receiving equal rights by law, and are habitually marginalised by the general public due to
homosexuality being considered gender deviance. Taywaditep 's (2001) study suggested that due to the marginalisation gay boys received throughout
their childhood and adolescence, many began to appear more gender–conforming towards adulthood to avoid marginalisation. Gender conformity is

EasyCar's approach, built on the easyJet model, was quite different than the approaches used by the traditional rental car companies. EasyCar rented
only a single vehicle type at each location it operated, while most of its competitors rented a wide variety of vehicle types. EasyCar did not work with
agents––over 95% of its bookings were made through the company's website, with the remainder of bookings being made directly through the
company's phone reservation system (at a cost to the customer of 0.95 [euro]/minute for the call). Most rental car companies worked with a variety
of intermediaries, with their own websites accounting for less than 10% of their total booking (Click to fly, 2004). And like easyJet, easyCar
managed prices in an attempt to have its fleet rented out 100% of the time and to generate the maximum revenue from its rentals. EasyCar's
information system constantly evaluated projected demand and expected utilization at each site, and adjusted price accordingly. Because of its
aggressive pricing, easyCar was able to achieve a fleet utilization rate in excess of 90% (Simpkins, 2002)––much higher than other major rental car
companies. Industry leader Avis Europe, for example, had a fleet utilization rate of 68% (Avis Europe plc, 2002).
It was January, 2003. EasyCar had broken even in the fiscal year ending September 2002 (Simpkins, 2002) on revenues of 27 million [pounds sterling]
(Marketing, 2003). This represented a significant improvement

CASE STUDY
The internationalisation of Tesco – new frontiers and new problems
Neil Wrigley, Michelle Lowe and Katherine Cudworth
Tesco's international expansion until 2010 had seemed like a complete success despite the odd hiccough. This case re–examines Tesco's
internationalisation in the context of harsher economic conditions, using a comparison of its operations in South Korea and the USA to draw out
important strategic dimensions of the retail internationalisation process. It also explores the organisational consequences of that process for the firm,
particularly when it is perceived to threaten the home market performance of the retailer.

In May 2013, Tesco, the UK's largest retailer and private sector employer of labour, announced annual sales for 2012–13 of ВЈ72 billion (~ $109bn ~
CSSbn),1 barely changed from the previous year. Profits were ВЈ3.4bn, down from ВЈ3.8 billion the year before. For Philip Clarke, Tesco's CEO since
2011, this was his second set of disappointing annual results. Sales across Europe were flat, and the company had had to decide at the end of 2012 to
exit Tesco's business in the United States. The main source of encouragement seemed to be Tesco's growing Asian business. Philip Clarke declared:

Standing on a short stool the wizard looks in the bag and said, "OH MY, OH MY, Where are they?"
To see the bottom of the bag, he needed a lamp. There, on the bottom of the bag are five little items the size of a stamp. Untying one rope from a

Next, he would try to find the tricycle, then the bat and the ball. POOF! They returned to their original size

The stores attract the value shopper with its affordability, and the upscale shopper with gourmet items like cheeses, desserts and wine. Fresh &
Easy helps keep prices down by offering fewer items in each category, thus simplifying things for shoppers. Unlike many of our competitors, we also
employ nonunion labor. And because the stores do not use checkers or baggers, they carry about 25–30 associates each.
With Fresh & Easy we have made a commitment to building leadership in energy and environmental design certified buildings. We will recycle or
reuse shipping and display products. The food transportation trailers are hybrid electric–diesel. The Riverside distribution center of Fresh & Easy
hosts California's largest solar roof installation. All stores are equipped with LED lights in freezers, coolers and for outdoor signage. Some stores
have reserved parking for hybrid cars. The green idea with The Fresh & Easy concept was expensive, so we hope that our consumers are ready to
pay a bit more for a healthier and greener product.
Tesco Club card is the loyalty card of Tesco. Via our club cards we are able to be the first to pick up on changing consumer behavior, which also
gives us the opportunity to follow up on the needs of our customers. We can reveal that the proportion of shoppers buying organic food has increased

It was about 8:15 when we were at the scene, we concluded that it was a gun that killed the man and the women. It was very foggy, and it was hard

Counter-Culture Youth Pic Essay
In the following essay, I will attempt to highlight the phenomenon in cinema known as the "counterculture youth–pic." This trend in production started
in the late 1960's as a result of the economic and cultural influences on the film industry of that time. The following essay looks at how those
influences helped to shape a new genre in the film industry, sighting Easy Rider as a main example, and suggests some possible reasons for the
relatively short popularity of the genre.
"The standard story of the counterculture begins with an account of the social order against which it rebelled, a social order that was known to just

Following the beatnik movement of the late 1950's a number of young people, embracing some of the same ideas, congregated in San Diego's Haight
suburb. But it was not necessarily just the youth of the day that were part of this social rejection.
"The last half of the 1960's saw the emergence of seemingly new cultures among young people, which were promptly collapsed under the label youth
culture by adults. Even so, these cultures were neither entirely novel, nor limited to young people, nor so homogeneous as to be described by one
label." (Grans, Comparative Analysis)
Part of what made this movement so distinguishable at the time was the rebellion against the fashion industry, as well as social norms. It was relatively
easy to pick out which people sympathized with the movement, especially with the characteristic male look of the "Jesus Christ hair and beard." They
dressed to highlight their freakiness, combining clothes of other times and cultures.
"Davy Crockett buckskin, military surplus, Buddhist robes, Edwardian suits, Errol Flynn pirate shirts, native American headbands, capes, cowboy and
Beatle boots, hats–bowlers, stove–top, cowboy, Eskimo, anything–and beads, of course." (Echols, Shaky Ground)
It was not only the social values and fashion trends that were experimented with. This period in history also saw a large rise in drug usage.

because everyone was now rich but because the middle class image has replaced both the poor image and the rich image. There was, for example,
little difference in appearance between the clerk's car and the boss's. The ascendancy of the middle class had reached the point where it was strong
enough to control cultural forms, and to magnify its own image in art." (Frank, Conquest) The movie industry at the time had been filling the screens
with spectacular productions, melodramatic love stories, and popular culture. These films, which were very successful early on, soon became clichГ©d,
and were no longer profitable. For the first time in its history, Hollywood was having trouble pleasing the audience. The culture of the time had worked
so hard to condition American audiences to accept a certain image onscreen, that they had removed their desire for change. "Despite its apparent
enthusiasm, goes the standard binary narrative, the Establishment was deeply threatened and in mortal conflict with a counterculture that aimed to
undermine its cherished ethics of hard work and conformity. Easy Rider concludes

Identity Experience In Reservation Blues, By Sherman Alexie
The novel Reservation Blues by Sherman Alexie depicts Indians within the reservation struggling with their past. These people include Junior and
Victor who are "Two of the most accomplished bullies of recent Native American history." (Page 13) Their past, outlook on life and relation with other
people lead them to be friends who are in pursuance to cause mischief in the reservation.
Victor is a struggling young man who grew up with a mother and a white stepfather. Given this, his identity crisis between the white and the Indian's is
profound. "I was thinking about Coyote Springs," Thomas said. "That's too damn Indian," Victor said. (Page 44) This underlines how victor stereotypes
his own inheritance. He shames the band name for its 'too Indian' ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Junior was distracted by the white girls who humiliated him saying that he would be a good lover were he not Indian. In addition, we find that what
Junior learned in Psychology is negatively impacting his life. "In Psychology 101, Junior had learned from Freud and Jung that dreams decided
everything... Junior based all of his decisions on his dreams and visions." (Page 18) Given the circumstances Junior can't differentiate his reality with

Easy Rider Analysis
In Easy Rider, the mid 20th century intriguing drama directed by Dennis Hopper, we were drawn back to 1969 to shed light on the influences of drugs,
sex, and culture as the characters began to question the American system in this counterculture movement. The counterculture movement provoked an
alternative lifestyle that came about during the Vietnam War. The tensions following the protests of human inequalities embodying racial segregation
and the frustration faced with the draft system resulted in the Civil Rights Movement. This film, Easy Rider, helped to formulate and to transition over
to the New Hollywood slump era. With the experimentation of new drugs such as cocaine and marijuana, people yearned to grasp a fresh perspective
on life through the usage of these substances. These hippies, especially the characters throughout the film, Billy and Wyatt, wanted to acquire different
forms of these perceptions so they were not viewed as inadequate within society. The essence embodied throughout the film exhibits Billy and Wyatt
aspiring to find freedom through Hopper's usage of stylistic forms through film editing and cinematography. These stylistic forms do not work in
isolation, but rather work together to create the underlying message in the quest to find themselves. Even from the very start of the film, formalist
elements are exemplified throughout the camera movement as being jerky and careless. While still alluring in the natural presence expressed
throughout the captivating views of scenery during the sequences of the cross–country motorcycle ride. Easy Rider's central theme is freedom; while
Billy and Wyatt embark on an adventure throughout America in pursuit to find a community to establish their roots. They traveled to many
destinations from Los Angeles to New Orleans to get that sense of belonging to join society harmoniously. They essentially could not find what they
were ultimately searching for. As the film initially starts, the chopper detailed in authentic American features arrives at the La Contenta Bar, a rugged
bar located in California to participate in a drug deal. The inefficient and weak looking machines they drive, which is a depicted as the American
dream, exemplifies

My Life
I woke up with my curly blonde hair covering my face. I quickly swept my hair away from my face into a ponytail and stood up. It 's too early, I
thought as I looked over to my clock. It was 7:13 a.m and I was already done with today. I knew the bus must 've been close, because my sister
wasn 't in our room sleeping. Guess I better get ready, I realized. I quickly rummaged through my small closet, filled halfway with little frilly dresses
owned by my sister. Finding a nice shirt and pair of pants was harder than I thought. Finally, I had found a tie dye shirt with the saying "good vibes"
on the front and a pair of white jean shorts. I changed into them quickly before my sister burst into our room.

"Took you long enough Ivy," My brother said with a smirk as I walked by. What a jerk, I thought to myself. He was always seen as the nice guy to
my grandma. I don 't know how he gets away with such big things. One time he had even spray painted the old principal 's car in middle school.
Grandma didn 't even notice or care that he did and she dismissed the incident. I flipped him off, before going to sit down next to my best friend,
Daniah.
"Hey Ivy!" Daniah said as she scooted over slightly. Daniah had always let me sit by the window during the years. I smiled at her and responded,
"Hey, how are you today?"
She smiled and told me a simple response before sticking in a earbud and playing her music on blast. I swear it must 've been so loud, kids from
the back of the bus could hear it. It didn 't help that she had a horrible taste in music as well. "Yo, turn down your music," I said to Daniah. She gave
me a puzzled look and took out an earbud.
"Oh huh?" She said.
"Turn down your music dude. It 's like crazy loud," I told her again. She gave me a faint smile and she pressed a button on the side of her phone. She
stuck her other earbud back in her ear. The music was luckily only loud enough for me to hear right next to her. Which wasn 't as bad as the whole bus
hearing it. The

After kissing Jeff and the kids goodbye, Heather pulls the keys from her pocket and gets in a blue Prius. Checking the review mirror, she starts the
engine, and her white knuckle drive to work. Byron St. is rammed, I'm going to be late, she thinks. The phone rings, she clicks on the blue button
on the blue tooth ear piece. "Hello?" "Is this Ms. Smith?" "Yes, who am I speaking too?" "It's Lorianne from Meadows Long Term Care." Is this it?
"Hello Lorianne, is my mother alright?" "Oh yes, she's fine." Heather presses her lips together. "And what can I do for you?" "Well, actually there
is something, we are planning a party for your mother's eightieth birthday and wanted to ask if you might like to bring a special cake for the
occasion?" The digital clock on the dashboard reads 8:30, nope, no time to worry about this now. "Uh, can you folks make the arrangements please,
unfortunately I'm involved in a complex project at work and don't have time." Lorianne hesitates, "Sure Ms. Smith, uh thank you for your time." With
minutes to spare Heather arrives at the office. She picks up the oversized bag from the passenger seat and grunts. It's heavy as hell. Rifling through it

Shrapnel from rocks struck one of my lads in the neck. Firing wildly in every direction I raced to his side. Moving towards him, my position became

The Gospel Is Not Easy !
After Jesus had been crucified and rose on the third day he gathered the disciples and told them, "Therefore go and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have
given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age" God commands us Christians to go out into the world and share
the gospel to all nations. Sharing the gospel is not easy! Luckily God has sent us help. John 16:13 says, "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will
guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard...from me." I am one of the many whom God has called to
work in missions. God has placed on my heart through the power of the Holy Spirit to go out into the world to further his kingdom. In this paper I will
be discussing the Holy Spirit's involvement in missions.
The focus of mission's is to glorify God. This is done through sharing the gospel to others. "Gods first mission to the earth was sending Jesus from
heaven to the world (unreached people) to show God's zeal for the glory of God." We are trusted by God to share his word to the unreached. God,
himself, is the perfect example of a missionary. He sent his son into the world so that Jesus would share about salvation. It is through the Holy Spirit
that "is the essence of mission, the core of why we do what we do and how we live our lives." The Spirit should be

we started stumbling through the church. The cinders and embers began falling on us. We pushed open the door to the back room and found four

picked up a kid and he bit me, but I leaned out the window and dropped him as gently as I could. I could hear Dally screaming at us. I picked up kids

Analysis of Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider Essay
Analysis of Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider
The movie "Easy Rider" revolves around two bikers making a trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans, to attend Mardi Gras. The first scene in the
film involves the two main characters selling a good amount of cocaine to a man in Rolls Royce. After the drug deal the bikers begin their journey to
Mardi Gras, but not before one of them removes his watch and throws it on the ground. I found this indicative of his pursuit of freedom, because time
serves only to constrain us. Once on the road you learn that their names are Wyatt and Billy, an obvious reference to Wyatt Earp and Billy the Kid who
are considered American legends, as well as outlaws. Wyatt rides a chopper with the stars and stripes on the gas... Show more content on

This interaction serves to underscore the difference between Wyatt and the Hitchhiker. The hitchhiker wants to be a fictional character; he is running
from the city. Wyatt on the other hand only wants to be himself; he is searching for something.
Wyatt and Billy bring the hiker to a commune that he lives in. Throughout this section, there is a peaceful feeling. The commune was an idea that
came to moderate popularity during the 60s especially. This shows the idea in a very positive light. Everyone seems to be getting along, people are
having fun, and they're all sharing the workload. There isn't much food left, but the people are working on growing food. Wyatt truly admires the
people on the commune and tells Billy that "they'll make it". Wyatt feels comfortable there, as opposed to Billy who begins to freak out when the
entire commune is singing "Does you hair hang low?" This scene makes the differences between Wyatt and Billy quite obvious. Wyatt is content to
live in the middle of the desert on a commune for the rest of his life. Billy on the other hand can't stand the communal life for more than one afternoon.
After leaving the commune, they get arrested for parading without a permit. This signifies a shift in the environment. No longer are they cruising
through the desert without a care in the world, they are in the deep south which at the time was not exactly a bastion of free love and acceptance.

Everyone needs to belong or to feel connected with others who share attitudes, interests, and circumstances that resemble their own. Teenagers choose
friends who accept and like them and see them in a favourable light. Moreover, to be a member of a peer group is one of the primary goals of most
teenagers during adolescence. They need their group, in order to achieve social acceptance.
The film "Easy A" is a good example of peer relationships during adolescence as it highlights how teenagers can be pressured in order to fit in certain

Will It Be Easy? Will It Be Worth It?
Will it be easy? Will it be worth it? That are the questions I would like to ask you, brother. Some circumstances came up in your life that made you
to drop out from school. However, education is not limited to age; you can start school any time. I am aware that you have some apprehensions
about joining a school such as that you would not be able to do at this age or with your current work schedule. At the same time, you are aware of the
benefits of going to school. You have to believe in yourself that you can do it. I know it would not be easy, but definitely, it will be worth it.
"You can do it'' is a phrase that you may have heard many times, but most of the time, you only listen to it and do not believe in those words. You just
have to take the first step to initiate. Belief in yourself has power that can turn your weakness into strength, but if you do not believe in yourself, your
strengths will turn into weaknesses. Belief can make anything possible.
I would like to share a story with you. During a research experiment, a marine biologist placed a shark into a large holding tank and then released
several small bait fish into the tank. As you would expect, the shark quickly swam around the tank, attacked, and ate the smaller fish. The marine
biologist then inserted a strong piece of clear fiberglass into the tank, creating two separate partitions. She then put the shark on one side of the
fiberglass and a new set of baitfish on the other. Again, the shark quickly attacked. This time, however, the shark slammed into the fiberglass divider
and bounced off. Undeterred, the shark kept repeating this behavior every few minutes to no avail. Meanwhile, the baitfish swam around unharmed
beyond the second partition. Eventually, about an hour into the experiment, the shark gave up. This experiment was repeated several dozen times over
the next few weeks. Each time, the shark got less aggressive and made fewer attempts to attack the bait fish, until eventually the shark got tired of
hitting the fiberglass divider and simply stopped attacking altogether. The marine biologist then removed the fiberglass divider, but the shark did not
attack. The shark was trained to believe a barrier existed between it and the

being the truth or not, is spread around like a wildfire on dry grass. Easy A is a comedic movie about a seventeen year old girl named Olive
Pendergast, who is in high school. Olive lies to her best friend about losing her virginity and the rumour spreads around the school. Soon after she
also lies about having sex with guys and gets paid to do so causing others to assume she is a prostitute. In anger, she marks her clothes with the letter
"A" meaning adultery. She lies for the sake of others comfort throughout the film until finally, someone tries to make her lies a reality. In the end, she
tells everyone the truth and finally understands to keep her sex life away from her social life. Through the movie, Easy A, we will be looking through
the character, Olive Penderghast, and her relationships with adults, what she is capable of, and her self–regulation. In the movie, Easy A, there are two
types of adults who are connected to Olive in either a positive manner or a negative one.. The first and better type of adult dealt with in this film is a
selfless adult who is shown through the parents of Olive Pendergast. The second type of adult shown is a selfish adult, who is portrayed ironically by
the guidance counselor of Olive, Mrs. Griffith. Focusing first on Olive's parents, I shall show you how this odd bunch, though at first

Problem Analysis: Walmart: Case Study Of A Company
Problem Analysis.
1. Merchandising unknown products
Before launching the Walmart's production program, Sam Walton knew he is going to create a program for a company that will become the world's
biggest grocer. Sam knew that even though Walmart was known for general merchandise, it had no customer equity on fresh products. Due to this, he
decided to go forward only with popular and respected products. In brief, he adopted the tactics of borrowing the popular brands equity and offering it
to people.
TESCO, on the other hand, adopted another strategy. It is known that it's very difficult for an unknown brand (like TESCO'sFresh & Easy stores) to
gain a consumers base. In addition to this, TESCO made this task even more difficult: they decided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If TESCO had understood it then the company would not have equipped the stores with self–checkout service. It persuades American consumers to
shop like British. British shopping habits differ from the US shopping habits. American consumer prefers to buy more goods per visit but shop less
often than the British consumer. In addition, US consumers like to interact with vendors asking questions and sharing stories, this is a deeply rooted
practice. Therefore, it was a bad move to introduce self–checkout technology in stores in the US because it did not match with its market characteristics

Is Hemingway Easy
Is Hemingway Easy? Through the years, when someone asks me what I do in my free time, I tell them that I like to read. I have read many hard to
comprehend books and stories. Once I started reading "A Very Short Story" by Ernest Hemingway, I found that my reading comprehension of the
text was lacking. Hemingway's work can be entertaining to read, but his use of the Iceberg Principle and point of view can tend to make the material
harder to read. Personal experience has shown me that his work takes longer to read and understand than an average short story. The story, has also
shown to be lacking in many details that would prove beneficial to the cohesion of the story. Hemingway stated, in "Death in the afternoon", "If a
writer of prose knows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I already mentioned how Hemingway leaves out the reason for the main character being in the hospital. Other details that are sorely missed in the
story are what period this story is placed in, backstories for Luz and the main character, and why Luz left the main character. Also, the jumping
through events sporadically causes more questions than answers by the end of the story. Not only does the lack of details cause confusion, but also,
the way things are worded in the story puzzles the reader's mind. For example, the very last sentence of the story, "A short time after he contracted
gonorrhea from a sales girl in a loop department store while riding in a taxicab through Lincoln Park" (par. 7). This sentence does not include enough
correct punctuation therefore confusing the reader of what is meant. Hemingway's stories can be entertaining, but his tendencies to omit crucial details,
and his choice of wording can cause problems for anyone less than a critical reader. In my opinion, "A Very Short Story" byErnest Hemingway is
difficult for new readers to engage with. Furthermore, Hemingway's use of Iceberg theory and wording can discourage just about anyone from
wanting to read his works. Lack of detail, lack of correct punctuation, the use of run–on sentences, and the jumping through events sporadically all
create a recipe for disaster in the

A Short Story : A Story?
'Take it easy, Iris.'' Said Julian as he took over the police officer who first rushed to help the woman to stay upright and the CSI guided her to the
closest chair. ''Is this...Where are they? Oh ...no.'' She cried out while her eyes were filling with tears. Her family, both Barry and Joe, was nowhere
to be found at first, until her eyes caught a sign of the red suit and her heart skipped a beat of hope. Caught in the emotions, she almost screamed and
revealed the Scarlet Speedster's identity: ''B–'' She stopped before she could say the name as she realized what she almost done and she also realized
that the man walking toward her and the older CSI wasn't her lover. ''What is, what's g..'' She tried to say. Once he made sure Julian had taken care
of moving everyone else away, out of eavesdrop range, Wally knelt on the ground to be on the same level as his sister and whispered with his
normal voice: ''Dad is fine. He went with Barry at the Labs.'' As he was speaking, he laid his hands down on Iris' knees in a vain attempt to reassure
her. ''How's...is he...'' She sobbed, trying to avoid looking at all the blood. ''He's...'' Julian bit his lips, hesitant, as he was searching for the right
words. What was he supposed to say? That Barry was alive? That he was ok? They had no idea and no way to find it out now that all the electronic
components were down, including Wally's comms. ''We believe he was still alive when he left here.'' He finally said. We believe.

Personal Narrative Essay: Perceval's Child
Joan turned and pinned up the final stray hairs. She situated her wrap, hugged Perceval, and set of for Mary's, who lived just on the opposite side of
the castle path, so it was a short walk.
Mary, the midwife, posted her hours of availability on her door each week. Many women often arrived at the same time, so the practitioner had several
comfortable chairs situated outside, and a few more indoors. She conducted examinations behind a privacy curtain in her small cottage.
By her door, Mary placed a clay jar where her patients could leave payment; she demanded no fixed fee for her services. Some women could afford
more (courtiers also saw her, because she was so experienced), while others could not afford to pay anything. Often, her patients ... Show more content

I've been going this a long time, so I am certain you're between nine and ten weeks along. That means a spring time baby for you, sometime in April,
most likely, right at lambing season. Congratulations to you."
A tear came to Joan's eye. She'd known she was with child, but to hear the news confirmed stirred up her emotions.
"He'll be so thrilled," said Joan. "I'm thrilled!"
Mary dried off her hands on a fresh cloth and said, "Unless you have any problems like pain or bleeding, for the first six months, you can see me
monthly. And while you'll want to share the news with your husband, you may want to wait until you reach twelve weeks before you inform others.
Most pregnancies that end in miscarriage do so before twelve weeks. There's no reason to think that will happen to you, but it is something to consider."
The midwife leaned in and hugged Joan, then went to tidy up.
"About the nausea," said Mary, "some ginger tea in the morning and a few bites of stale bread can help. "Really, any time you feel stomach upset
coming on, a spot of ginger tea can help. It's best to keep your chambers well stocked with it. I'll give you a little bit to get you through today."
Joan thanked the midwife, collected her tea and belongings, then dropped a gold coin into the woman's payment jar; Mary had earned

Analysis
Point of View
"I'M THE MOST TERRIFIC LIAR you ever saw in your life."
(Holden 19).
This story is told in the first person point of view. The author chose the story to be first person to build a connection with the reader, and to tell
stories from their own perspective, since they are more reliable than being told by someone else. First person also allows the reader to create a
relationship with the protagonist and get to to know the character by the choices he made and the life experiences he had.
Foreshadowing
"I'll just tell you about this madman stuff that happened to me last Christmas just before I got pretty rundown and had to come here and take it easy."
(Holden 3).
This quote on the first chapter of the book indicates that Holden has some anxiety problems and is either in an institution to help calm and deal with
the nerves, since he mentioned he is a nervous guy, or in a hospital, after a mental breakdown. The sentence encourages the reader to want to know
why and how he has to calm down, and what events lead to this major "madman" occurrences.
Tone
"After I shut the door and started back to the living room, he yelled something at me, but I couldn't exactly hear him. I'm pretty sure he yelled "Good
luck!" at me. I hope not. I hope to hell not. I'd never yell "Good luck!" at anybody. It sounds terrible, when you think about it."

Networked Essay Networked (A Certain Scientific Railgun SI) #02.5 –––––– It had been quite some time since I'd been anything but the driver, it was... nice, and it felt good to just put the seat back and be a passenger as the Sister drove through the city. It was relaxing, and quiet, with none of the rage–inducing stupidity I'd experienced whenever commuting. Although, it might have been more enjoyable were the Sister not insistent on making conversation. Unfortunately for her, the topics were ones that I'd just rather not get involved with. "'Additionally, Misaka 10091 has been most insistent as she has come to the deluded conclusion that by receiving a piece of jewelry from the Boy she would have the right to lay claim on him over other Sisters,' ... Another pregnant silence descended on the van as the Sister came to a stop at a busy intersection. "'I see and I apologize,'" she finally said, "Misaka simply assumed that because she and several others went through a great deal of effort to acquire objects for your dormitory that you would be more conducive to assisting her in this relatively minor matter. It seems she was mistaken." I blinked and playing her words back a kernel of guilt seeded itself in my guts. She was doing it on purpose. I knew it she was doing it on purpose– she'd said so herself –but... I sighed in resignation and sank back into the seat. Probably should have figured one of them would get to me, though, especially considering how often they guilted their 'Big Sister'. "Fine. I'll tell you what I was planning to tell Mikoto, is that acceptable?" "Yes. However, Misaka does request Aka refrains from giving the same advice for as long as she can." Not give the same advice? Oh. The competitiveness. I could just see it: Misaka sees other Sister barely hanging onto a cliff. Sister uses (Stomp on Fingers)... It's super effective! 'Long live the king.' • 4. Billy Collins Poetry Analysis The beautiful thing about poetry is that it can be written in so many forms, about numerous topics and can have its own personalized sound. Billy Collins brings poetry to life in a simple and fun way that many poets never accomplish. It is obvious in the "Introduction to Poetry," he is emphasizing the need for people to look into poetry in a different light and divulge into the true meaning instead of reading it in such a surface manner or over analyzing it. His work highlights the use of imagery bringing the words to life on the page, encouraging the reader to take it easy and enjoy the words of the poetry. His journey as U.S. Poet Laureate lead to students across America having access to a poem per day being shared at school, enhancing the knowledge and desire for poetry across the nation (Collins, "Poetry 180"). Although Collins' approach to poetry was unconventional and focused on experience, he allows readers everywhere to feel his words – tangible and full of life. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Collins served as U.S. Laureate, where his work lead to his involvement in the 180 project, creating an avenue for all students to enjoy a poem a day, whether it be read verbally or to themselves, one would be provided for each school day to help bridge the gap in the generations with poetry (Collins, poetryfoundation.org). He clearly wanted to help give readers everywhere a new perspective on poetry, especially the younger crowd that was school–age. He writes, "Poems can inspire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Olive quickly gains popularity when most of the student body witnesses, from the other side of the door, her having sex at a party with a boy from school. Little does everyone know that it is all a ruse to get them to think that Brandon, her fake sex partner, is not gay in hopes that this very public display of sexual activity will prevent daily beatings at school and it works! Consistent deviance often leads to marginalisation, and gender deviance is a prime example. Brandon was beat up at school and rejected by friends. Gay individuals have long been marginalised by not receiving equal rights by law, and are habitually marginalised by the general public due to homosexuality being considered gender deviance. Taywaditep 's (2001) study suggested that due to the marginalisation gay boys received throughout their childhood and adolescence, many began to appear more gender–conforming towards adulthood to avoid marginalisation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... EasyCar's approach, built on the easyJet model, was quite different than the approaches used by the traditional rental car companies. EasyCar rented only a single vehicle type at each location it operated, while most of its competitors rented a wide variety of vehicle types. EasyCar did not work with agents––over 95% of its bookings were made through the company's website, with the remainder of bookings being made directly through the company's phone reservation system (at a cost to the customer of 0.95 [euro]/minute for the call). Most rental car companies worked with a variety of intermediaries, with their own websites accounting for less than 10% of their total booking (Click to fly, 2004). And like easyJet, easyCar managed prices in an attempt to have its fleet rented out 100% of the time and to generate the maximum revenue from its rentals. EasyCar's information system constantly evaluated projected demand and expected utilization at each site, and adjusted price accordingly. Because of its aggressive pricing, easyCar was able to achieve a fleet utilization rate in excess of 90% (Simpkins, 2002)––much higher than other major rental car companies. Industry leader Avis Europe, for example, had a fleet utilization rate of 68% (Avis Europe plc, 2002). It was January, 2003. EasyCar had broken even in the fiscal year ending September 2002 (Simpkins, 2002) on revenues of 27 million [pounds sterling] (Marketing, 2003). This represented a significant improvement ... This case re–examines Tesco's internationalisation in the context of harsher economic conditions, using a comparison of its operations in South Korea and the USA to draw out important strategic dimensions of the retail internationalisation process. It also explores the organisational consequences of that process for the firm, particularly when it is perceived to threaten the home market performance of the retailer. в—Џ In May 2013, Tesco, the UK's largest retailer and private sector employer of labour, announced annual sales for 2012–13 of ВЈ72 billion (~ $109bn ~ CSSbn),1 barely changed from the previous year. Profits were ВЈ3.4bn, down from ВЈ3.8 billion the year before. For Philip Clarke, Tesco's CEO since 2011, this was his second set of disappointing annual results. Sales across Europe were flat, and the company had had to decide at the end of 2012 to exit Tesco's business in the United States. The main source of encouragement seemed to be Tesco's growing Asian business. Philip Clarke declared:

Even so, these cultures were neither entirely novel, nor limited to young people, nor so homogeneous as to be described by one label." (Grans, Comparative Analysis) Part of what made this movement so distinguishable at the time was the rebellion against the fashion industry, as well as social norms. It was relatively easy to pick out which people sympathized with the movement, especially with the characteristic male look of the "Jesus Christ hair and beard." "As for America, the poor boy and rich girl story (or rich boy and poor girl), which was the staple of the popular film before World War II, had disappeared. Money as romance had receded, not because everyone was now rich but because the middle class image has replaced both the poor image and the rich image. There was, for example, little difference in appearance between the clerk's car and the boss's. The ascendancy of the middle class had reached the point where it was strong enough to control cultural forms, and to magnify its own image in art." (Frank, Conquest) The movie industry at the time had been filling the screens with spectacular productions, melodramatic love stories, and popular culture. These films, which were very successful early on, soon became clichГ©d, and were no longer profitable. For the first time in its history, Hollywood was having trouble pleasing the audience. The culture of the time had worked so hard to condition American audiences to accept a certain image onscreen, that they had removed their desire for change. • 32. Short Story : A Story After kissing Jeff and the kids goodbye, Heather pulls the keys from her pocket and gets in a blue Prius. Checking the review mirror, she starts the engine, and her white knuckle drive to work. Byron St. is rammed, I'm going to be late, she thinks. The phone rings, she clicks on the blue button on the blue tooth ear piece. "Hello?" "Is this Ms. Smith?" "Yes, who am I speaking too?" "It's Lorianne from Meadows Long Term Care." Is this it? "Hello Lorianne, is my mother alright?" "Oh yes, she's fine." Heather presses her lips together. "And what can I do for you?" "Well, actually there is something, we are planning a party for your mother's eightieth birthday and wanted to ask if you might like to bring a special cake for the occasion?" The digital clock on the dashboard reads 8:30, nope, no time to worry about this now. "Uh, can you folks make the arrangements please, unfortunately I'm involved in a complex project at work and don't have time." Lorianne hesitates, "Sure Ms. Smith, uh thank you for your time." With minutes to spare Heather arrives at the office. She picks up the oversized bag from the passenger seat and grunts. It's heavy as hell. Rifling through it ––notebook, lunch, water bottle, wallet, keys–– all present and accounted for. She slings the strap over her shoulder, walks up the steps and through the glass doors of building 5, Norwest St. On the 2nd floor the elevator opens and she breathes in the smell of musty smell of a very old building. She strides down the hall to the last door on the right. Deep breath in, deep breath out, she grabs the knob and opens the door. The pretty receptionist, sitting behind the desk in the main lobby, smiles at her. Shannon's a petite red–head, fair–skinned with green eyes and a severe case of Rosacea, Heather likes her. "Good morning, is he in yet?" She asks, pointing toward the boss' office. Shannon stands up and grabs a stack of mail sitting atop the edge of the desk. "Awe look," she says, holding up a flyer with smiling children on the cover. "There's a request to help build a peaceful compound in Madagascar. • 34. The Gospel Is Not Easy ! After Jesus had been crucified and rose on the third day he gathered the disciples and told them, "Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age" God commands us Christians to go out into the world and share the gospel to all nations. Sharing the gospel is not easy! Luckily God has sent us help. John 16:13 says, "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard...from me." I am one of the many whom God has called to work in missions. God has placed on my heart through the power of the Holy Spirit to go out into the world to further his kingdom. In this paper I will be discussing the Holy Spirit's involvement in missions. The focus of mission's is to glorify God. This is done through sharing the gospel to others. "Gods first mission to the earth was sending Jesus from heaven to the world (unreached people) to show God's zeal for the glory of God." We are trusted by God to share his word to the unreached. God, himself, is the perfect example of a missionary. He sent his son into the world so that Jesus would share about salvation. It is through the Holy Spirit that "is the essence of mission, the core of why we do what we do and how we live our lives." The Spirit should be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider Essay Analysis of Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider The movie "Easy Rider" revolves around two bikers making a trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans, to attend Mardi Gras. The first scene in the film involves the two main characters selling a good amount of cocaine to a man in Rolls Royce. After the drug deal the bikers begin their journey to Mardi Gras, but not before one of them removes his watch and throws it on the ground. I found this indicative of his pursuit of freedom, because time serves only to constrain us. The hitchhiker wants to be a fictional character; he is running from the city. Wyatt on the other hand only wants to be himself; he is searching for something. Wyatt and Billy bring the hiker to a commune that he lives in. Throughout this section, there is a peaceful feeling. The commune was an idea that came to moderate popularity during the 60s especially. This shows the idea in a very positive light. Everyone seems to be getting along, people are having fun, and they're all sharing the workload. There isn't much food left, but the people are working on growing food. Wyatt truly admires the people on the commune and tells Billy that "they'll make it". Wyatt feels comfortable there, as opposed to Billy who begins to freak out when the entire commune is singing "Does you hair hang low?" This scene makes the differences between Wyatt and Billy quite obvious. Wyatt is content to live in the middle of the desert on a commune for the rest of his life. Billy on the other hand can't stand the communal life for more than one afternoon. After leaving the commune, they get arrested for parading without a permit. • 41. Will It Be Easy? Will It Be Worth It? Will it be easy? Will it be worth it? That are the questions I would like to ask you, brother. Some circumstances came up in your life that made you to drop out from school. However, education is not limited to age; you can start school any time. I am aware that you have some apprehensions about joining a school such as that you would not be able to do at this age or with your current work schedule. At the same time, you are aware of the benefits of going to school. You have to believe in yourself that you can do it. I know it would not be easy, but definitely, it will be worth it. "You can do it'' is a phrase that you may have heard many times, but most of the time, you only listen to it and do not believe in those words. You just have to take the first step to initiate. Belief in yourself has power that can turn your weakness into strength, but if you do not believe in yourself, your strengths will turn into weaknesses. Belief can make anything possible. I would like to share a story with you. During a research experiment, a marine biologist placed a shark into a large holding tank and then released several small bait fish into the tank. As you would expect, the shark quickly swam around the tank, attacked, and ate the smaller fish. The marine biologist then inserted a strong piece of clear fiberglass into the tank, creating two separate partitions. She then put the shark on one side of the fiberglass and a new set of baitfish on the other. Again, the shark quickly attacked. This time, however, the shark slammed into the fiberglass divider and bounced off. Undeterred, the shark kept repeating this behavior every few minutes to no avail. Meanwhile, the baitfish swam around unharmed beyond the second partition. Eventually, about an hour into the experiment, the shark gave up. This experiment was repeated several dozen times over the next few weeks. Each time, the shark got less aggressive and made fewer attempts to attack the bait fish, until eventually the shark got tired of hitting the fiberglass divider and simply stopped attacking altogether. The marine biologist then removed the fiberglass divider, but the shark did not attack. The shark was trained to believe a barrier existed between it and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once I started reading "A Very Short Story" by Ernest Hemingway, I found that my reading comprehension of the text was lacking. Hemingway's work can be entertaining to read, but his use of the Iceberg Principle and point of view can tend to make the material harder to read. Personal experience has shown me that his work takes longer to read and understand than an average short story. The story, has also shown to be lacking in many details that would prove beneficial to the cohesion of the story. Hemingway stated, in "Death in the afternoon", "If a writer of prose knows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I already mentioned how Hemingway leaves out the reason for the main character being in the hospital. Other details that are sorely missed in the story are what period this story is placed in, backstories for Luz and the main character, and why Luz left the main character. Also, the jumping through events sporadically causes more questions than answers by the end of the story. Not only does the lack of details cause confusion, but also, the way things are worded in the story puzzles the reader's mind. For example, the very last sentence of the story, "A short time after he contracted gonorrhea from a sales girl in a loop department store while riding in a taxicab through Lincoln Park" (par. 7). This sentence does not include enough correct punctuation therefore confusing the reader of what is meant. Hemingway's stories can be entertaining, but his tendencies to omit crucial details, and his choice of wording can cause problems for anyone less than a critical reader. In my opinion, "A Very Short Story" byErnest Hemingway is difficult for new readers to engage with. Salinger Literary Element Quote Analysis Point of View "I'M THE MOST TERRIFIC LIAR you ever saw in your life." (Holden 19). This story is told in the first person point of view. The author chose the story to be first person to build a connection with the reader, and to tell stories from their own perspective, since they are more reliable than being told by someone else. First person also allows the reader to create a relationship with the protagonist and get to to know the character by the choices he made and the life experiences he had. Foreshadowing "I'll just tell you about this madman stuff that happened to me last Christmas just before I got pretty rundown and had to come here and take it easy." (Holden 3). This quote on the first chapter of the book indicates that Holden has some anxiety problems and is either in an institution to help calm and deal with the nerves, since he mentioned he is a nervous guy, or in a hospital, after a mental breakdown. The sentence encourages the reader to want to know why and how he has to calm down, and what events lead to this major "madman" occurrences. Tone "After I shut the door and started back to the living room, he yelled something at me, but I couldn't exactly hear him. I'm pretty sure he yelled "Good luck!" at me. I hope not.
