12. QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control involves monitoring specific project results to determine if they
comply with relevant quality standards and identifying ways to eliminate causes of unsatisfactory results. MPM performs these processes throughout the delivery of the project.
Project results include both product results such as deliverables, and management results such as cost and schedule performance. MPM’s project management team has an in-depth knowledge of statistical quality control, especially sampling and probability, which enables us to evaluate quality control outputs.
MPM operates on a series of quality control verticals, but typically we are focused on the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project and portfolio tracking:
a. Actual Costs vs. Budget (incl. savings achieved and cost avoidance)
b. % of Projects Completed On Schedule
c. Customer Satisfaction Surveys
MPM recognizes and can execute a variety of key metric indicators depending on individual client expectations, however, we have found that cost / schedule and quality metrics form the basis of all our deliveries, and we therefore concentrate specifically on the early identification of these principles and establish critical path guidelines to ensure quality is not only maintained, but exceeded wherever possible.
DESIGN QUALITY ASSURANCE
MPM understands that Design Quality Assurance falls into two distinct parts, office management and project management.
Office Management provides an overall framework within which individual projects are commissioned, designed and completed. MPM will integrate our managerial
resources which monitor the allocation and financing of resources, principally
premises, trained staff and computer systems, and ensuring appropriate fees for the services rendered are charged.
MPM QUALITY ASSURANCE
13. MPM QUALITY ASSURANCE
The second element to Design Quality Assurance is Project Management, where specific focus is directed toward timescales, and the establishment of a suitable design from initial concept to working drawings, and managing the
construction process.
Essentially Design Quality Assurance can be translated into sequencing that
ensures design work on a project is cost effective, and achieves a harmonious
balance between profitability and design quality.
MPM will monitor and engage in the design process to ensure that each
facility’s specific requirements and objectives are fully met and reviewed by the
client prior to approval.
CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE
Quality assurance in construction involves planned and systematic actions necessary to provide confidence that the facility will perform satisfactorily in
service.
MPM understand that construction planning is a complex process that must be kept current with the actual construction taking place in the field. Construction plans, just in terms of day-to-day changes, must be kept up-to-date, and MPM
monitors this religiously throughout the delivery.
MPM will engage early in the construction process to ensure the development of plans and specifications are monitored in accordance with your expectations.
Architectural and engineering plans / specifications often change during the
construction phase of a complex project and it is important that the procedures for incorporating these changes be well developed and consistently followed, and through this process we can assure our clients of success.
Finally, the actual construction activities are closely monitored to ensure that the engineering plans and specifications are being met or exceeded throughout the construction process.
As an independent consultant, we work on your behalf to apply our experience and expertise to your project, with the result being the stringent management of proven processes to ensure your objectives are met at every stage.
