3. “Small charities like ours are able to survive
thanks to the support of CCVS. Without the help of
the funding portal we wouldn’t be able to reach
those who need our services most. But the service
is so much more! From training sessions, to
meeting funders and finding free resources, not to
mention helping me with specific questions on
email and phone. Our charity would simply not
have got where we are now without CCVS.”

CCVS works with individuals, groups and organisations in communities to
help them build places where people want to live, work, and visit. We:
• Provide practical support and training to build the knowledge and
confidence of those involved.
• Encourage those working or volunteering in and across communities to
collaborate and build relationships.
• Amplify the voices of communities and champion the work that
happens there.
• Engage with communities to support them to identify and implement
solutions which improve people’s lives.
• Promote safe, inclusive and engaging volunteering and the benefit it
brings to all.

5. “We have to say a huge thank you to
@CambridgeCVS for all they have
done to support us over the last 6
months in the programme of events
to improve vaccination for young
people in Cambridge City. Funding,
advice, ideas, support. Exceptional
and outstanding.”

absolute support for your words at the meeting
last week and the AGM this week......
Thank you for your eloquence, for words that
reflect absolutely how I feel personally, and I know
for the whole Team here that [it] is the same.....
Your words resonate deeply.

Finances Annual Review 2022-2023
Whilst some of this year’s surplus is restricted and will be spent on the volunteer portal in 2023, we have now built our
reserves up to the level they were when we moved into Arbury Court and had to pay for the refurbishment. The trustees
have agreed to invest some of these reserves into a new development post that will train a future development and
communications worker and increase the capacity of the team, into a new website, and into improvements at Arbury Court.

13. “MASSIVE THANK YOU FOR ALL
YOU DO. The newsletters are
amazing, [the staff are] always
so approachable and give the
best advice.

14. We will develop our strategic way
forward and look at how we can
integrate what we do, and what
we measure within the CRM
system, with our vision and
mission statement.
This will bring our vision and
mission to life by directly linking
them to our actions and impact.
CCVS Strategy
We will be working closely with
Hunts Forum over the year to
build on the success of the
Support Fenland project funded
by Lloyds Foundation. We have a
clear set of recommendations and
need to find the funds to start to
implement these.
Support Cambridgeshire
We will look at our staff structure
and are planning a move to a
four-day week. We will look at
how we can make best use of
technology to make us more
productive and this will include
the development, of a new
website and investing in new tools
to facilitate hybrid working.
CCVS Team
The year ahead
We want to build on our solid
start of developing a more diverse
training offer. This will include
producing more on demand
training sessions as well as
looking at our wider training offer
to ensure it is fit for purpose.
Training Provision
We have funding for the Volunteer
Platform, and we will be working
with partners to make this a
reality. Whilst we have the funds
for the build and a three-year
licence, we still need to find
funding for the staff team that will
allow us to ensure the platform is
a success.
Volunteer Platform
We will continue to develop new
and existing relationships both in
the sector and externally. We
believe that collaboration will
become more important in the
future, and we will continue to
invest time in building trust and
consensus with a wide variety of
organisations.

15. “We have always felt so supported by CCVS - the staff
are excellent and responsive, and just knowing we have
their support as and when we need it is invaluable. We
are a small organisation, and we do the absolute best
we can for people, but we are very, very very stretched,
and to save time on having CCVS share their
knowledge, bring people together and have a space
where we know we can contact them whatever the
thing we need is (and we know if they can't they will
probably know someone who can help!) literally
invaluable. Thank you so much!“
